TUA hot takes for 'Seven Bells':
The opening with Luther's time on the moon is the standout of the season for him. Love love love that they went deeper into what all those years were like for him. Luther got so much crap for talking about the moon too much, but it was legitimately traumatizing and I'm all for the reminder. Your moon trauma is valid, Luther. Also showcases some of his best acting, please let him be something other than an oaf way more often it's so much more interesting. (Also was extremely into his scene with Reggie at the end and the shock of what happens to Luther. It's Really Great and terrible and I love that they went there. Reggie is on fire this entire episode and I will talk about him more.)
You can be whatever about the Klaus/Ben implications, but it doesn't take away from the fact that Sparrow!Ben finally started getting a personality in these last episodes. I don't ship the siblings but I was happy they were sharing the screen again.
Reggie's response to Viktor saying "Jesus" when he looks out at the incoming apocalypse: "He's due any minute now" is one of my favorite things Reggie has ever said. Colm Feore is a treasure.
Speaking of: the scene with Five and Reggie talking at the edge of the world is So Good. I use this scene in my tumblr layout for a reason. I love this entire exchange; the fascinating dynamic unique to these two characters, how every line has layers of meaning. Reggie calling Five an 'arrogant son of a bitch'. Five's trademark razor smile. I could go on, it's my absolute favorite moment of the season and I could watch it one hundred more times and still find more things to say about them.
I will never get over Five eating cereal an entire box at a time. The little hints at his eating habits have always been consistently weird, what are you.
The way they shot Klaus' final moments in the White Buffalo suite and it fades to white instead of black. The visuals are stunning, it looks like a painting and it will be burned into my memory forever.
The end of s3 was really stellar. Started off strong with 'Footloose' and lost its way for a few episodes, but I was so into this evil hotel situation with the backdrop of the world ending. Once they got back to the core characters it reminded me of all that I love about the show.
...Even if I was a little WTF about 'should we die or not let's take a vote' but I give it a pass. It's this family's nature to disagree, why would that change when they're wondering if they should save the world? (Sidebar: older!Five seriously screwed with Five's head. He's so stuck on himself telling him not to save the world/always being right that he can't move past it.) Allison should not have had to try this hard to get them on board.

The Death of Alex Mercer, the elite spy agent
After returning from a successful task, Alex Mercer, the 20y-year-old elite agent, was trapped in a conspiracy against him in his agency. At the midnight that day, he was coerced to hang himself with a cord rope provided by his superior officer...
However, the superior officers in the agency decided to cover up Alex's coerced suicide in the prison cell. They announced Alex was executed by a criminal organisation in a failed a mission.
To cover up the marks on Alex's body indicating his final struggles, the medical team attached to the spy agency applied the most advanced technology to process his dead body.
A week after his coerced suicide, his body lay in state at a hospital. After that, the soldiers secretly carried his body to a special room in the agency building.
Ten years later, some new predicaments forced the spy agency to re-examine Alex's case. So, the higher ranking officers decided to open Alex's coffin, which had been lying in the special room for ten years.
The quality of the coffin and the climate in the room kept Alex's body in a recognisable appearance. Due to his athletic physical condition when he was alive, the chiselled geometries of his muscles were still clear to the medical team, though his skin had downgraded.

Okay I'll bite. What happened in this guy's childhood to make him go to the extensive body-destroying lengths to bring his mom back??
-Sky Floor
His father left and his mother was wonderful to Edward and his brother, they loved her very much. But in the 2003 version, she died, possibly from being heartbroken over Edward’s father leaving. She was sick for days and finally passed away. In the brotherhood version it was definitely an illness that passed around Risembool (where Edward lived) and his mother caught it and she died. He and his brother missed her and Edward wanted nothing more than to bring his mother back. He thought he would use alchemy to do it, but human transmutation is very illegal because of how dangerous it is. Alchemy is dependent on equivalent exchange, and it’s practically impossible to bring someone back to life. So Ed lost his leg, and Alphonse lost his entire body. Ed couldn’t lose his little brother so he connected Al’s soul to a suit of armor, losing his arm in the process.
Oh but don’t worry! His life gets so much worse :)

The scene where Viserys consents to the c-section on Aemma’s behalf against her wishes is horrifying to watch. She’s literally screaming “no, Viserys, please” as the maester cuts into her. She’d told him that she didn’t want to try for more kids, and then he butchers her for a son. It is particularly sickening because Viserys claims to love her.
The producers said they'd not depict sexual violence against women, and then they do that to Aemma Arryn in literally the first episode. Is that not violence? Is reproductive violence not a form of sexual violence? Is the disregard for Aemma's autonomy not violent?
Furthermore, Viserys largely ignores his sons once he finally has them, so what was the point of Aemma's violent death? In the book, it appears that Viserys married Alicent out of love rather than a desire for sons, which makes more sense. However, the show's depiction of him as complicit in Aemma's brutal death and then neglecting the sons he sacrificed her for lacks coherence.

I miss him. I miss his bad posture. I miss his lack of eyebrows and shoes. I miss the fact his shirt and skin color are the same colors as a doctor office waiting room. I miss his under eye bags. I miss his bad fashion.
