Good morning Sun God Grian (for the poor) anon, I've an idea

Sun God Grian meets Bdubs (self proclaimed Sun God).

Normally in mythos, when a mortal impersonates or thinks they're better than the gods, they're punished in a usually humiliating way. (Like when Arachne said she was a better weaver than Athena and so Athena turned her into a spider lmao)

Luckily for Bdubs, Grian thinks his sun god shtick is cute. It's very endearing for Grian to see someone so involved with the sun. Not many people care about the sunrise but Bdubs is 100% all in all the time. Plus Bdubs is radiant, lighting up the room, and enthusiastic towards his worship. Grian eventually reveals himself to Bdubs in all his godly glory, hoping that Bdubs doesn't see him too differently, and Bdubs is absolutely head over heels.

Well, he'd been crushing for a while but finding out that Grian was the very god he loved enough to dedicate his life to. Well. Y'know.

Bdubs takes on this role not because he thinks he's better than a god, but because he genuinely loves the sun and all it brings. People should be appreciating it! If they don't see that themselves, then he's going to make them.

Grian also enjoys having his boyfriend kinda do his job for him. He gets to sit at the back of Bdubs' church, watching him talk (mostly rambling tangents) and think about how cute he is. It counts as work, right?

I have so many random thoughts rn. Like honestly. A couple of them:

- The esmp x hc crossover gave me more cub/grian interactions and i wasn't expecting it but I need more of them pls 🔫 hand it over

- Gridubs is an underrated ship. Like.. idk they have the ✨ vibes ✨ I’d love to see them pair together in a life series tbh

- The ‘games squad’ (like Jimmy’s game streams where the ‘Grian is always late’ bit comes from) is just one big family game night. Grian/Lizzie/Jimmy siblings dynamic true???

If you’re still doing the ship things: thoughts on RenScar or GriDubs? I feel like they’re pretty obscure despite having super fun dynamics

I was asleep for a bit sorry its pretty late :)

Renscar is a thing i think that would not come to most people before the whole kings court shenanigans, although they actually had some banter in season 6 that had a very fun dynamic i now remember. Either way, if we are talking in the context of Ren the King and HoTGuY than yeah that one is super fun. I think Bdubs is a central piece of the reason why they work, but ship being just the two of them is so funny, like, Bdubs is forced to endure them being awful. Scar is a kinda guy who does not overthrow the king only because he can put sooo many homoerotic comments in their every conversation and also he is kings special guy who can do anything he asks for because he is such a good servant. I think Ren is kinda holding him close only out of spite and intrigue and maybe a little bit of jealousy. Ren loves his personal space, Scar also loves Rens personal space you know. Like i didn't think about it this much before you asked me but i can see it, more people should do something about it i think

GriDubs is fun in similar kinda way to Gribeans because for me personally, those three are in the same kinda lane of characters. Grian and Bdubs have another layer tho - those two looove to put someone else in power. They work best as extension of someone else sorry if it sounds a bit weird i mean it in the best way possible. They work best in the context of the life series. Like, they kinda work. A bit similar to martian? But I don't think they would be a constant reminder and boil spite and they are doomed to ruin each other i think they could find a bit of comfort in each other. They could work in some kinda specific au for Third life i think, i wouldn't say they are as universal as like grumbo or treebark but they could just click in specific circumstances.
