SSM has been dropping awesome new God of War Developmental art, and some of the art features the soul marbles featured in the game. Looking at them, you can see that they are clearly marked with the names of the giants they are associated with, and how the marbles themselves reflect the personalities of the giants themselves.

Groa - this one is the most interesting because it’s a mostly black on brown marble, which could hint at the fact that Groa was murdered by Odin and this her marble reflects her untimely death.

Laufey (Faye’s marble) - Faye marble is interesting because the middle of the marble is gold, which again symbolizes the Jotnar as a race of being. Having such a large part of her marble be gold symbolizes her loyalty to the Giants as being their last guardian. Also the wood of the marble is so dingy and grey, it could also symbolize how she died peacefully.

Loki (Atreus’ marble) - love how the gradient of yellow to green to blue symbolizes his mixed heritage. Yellow is associated with the Jotnar while blue is Midgard and since Atreus was born a Joten who grew up in Midgard, his marble reflects this

Angrboda - a deep deep orange/red, most likely drawing upon the notion of her loyalty to Jotunheim as a home for the giants.

Jormungandr — love how because his name is so long, it twists around the marble hinting at his newly found snake heritage

Hati (from Skoll and Hati) — since Hati is the wolf associated with the moon, it’s make sense that his marble is such a deep midnight-cerulean moonlight blue. I’d imagine that Skoll’s marble is bright gold or yellow.

From top to bottom:

Lurkers Most Common monster Bat-like creatures with large crystals growing out of their backs. When killed, these crystals tend to shatter and explode. Taking their killer with them.

Howlers Common monster Blind daughters of Sorrow. The eyes across their forehead allows the Lich Mother herself to see what is going on outside of her lair. Quick and vicious, they are the tongue of Lilibye.

Groa Uncommon The Servants of Lilibye. They are the fathers of Lurkers and Howlers bore upon the mother of monsters.

The Knights of Eternity Rare The will of The Eternal Night, these children are the bane of human existence. But is that all?

Lilibye Legend The Mother of Monsters.

i love how dunnet definitely has a Type when it comes to protagonists (mostly she can't help but make them extremely intelligent and competent and secretive), but also i love the difference between them in certain aspects

like on an attractiveness scale lymond would be on the very attractive side, with nicholas in the middle because he's canonically both kinda ugly and very hot, and thorfinn on the Ugly side.

and on a silliness scale nicholas is the silly, with lymond being occasionally silly, and thorfinn being very serious.

the duality of men...

#thorfinn is the ugliest and most serious but he's also perfect and so sexy. that's dorothy's power #it's not as clear-cut with the girls but groa is definitely the most beautiful i would say #and gelis the funniest. i don't know if i can call her silly (tho she does have her moments) but she made me laugh a lot

My friend and I were talking about Kyman shippers and we came to this conclusion:

Kyman shippers are on some other shit. Like absolutely fucking insane. They literally ship two (MINORS!!) that hate each other. Like enemies to lovers aren’t always bad but when it comes to fucking two south park characters it’s fucking ridiculous and the audacity that these hoes dare say non kyman shippers have bad taste when they’re literally drawing porn of 10 year olds.

As much as I normally don’t judge people for what they ship (unless they’re a pro shipper or ship incest/pedophilia etc and I mean Kyman kinda is it’s abusive) I genuinely think these people need to touch grass. Like they genuinely scare me.

Just to confuse the Kyman shippers I won’t tell you if this is a joke or not love y’all have a good day even you Kyman shippers because I’m not as low as you 🥺

I wonder if the reason they gave Tyr both hands in GOWR is because with the giant’s prophecies the depictions of him (figure with a helmet, beard, and spear) are actually supposed to be Kratos (has beard and spear at least by the end of the game) and it would be Too Obvious the difference between them if prophecies involving Tyr were missing a hand and the ones that are supposed to be Kratos have both

#im rewatching gowr again and in groa's hidden shrine where like. its showing 'tyr' leading ragnarok #its just like. not particularly detailed man with spear in hand (could be draupnir spear) and a beard and a pointy helmet #which i think traditionally is how tyr is depicted. and how he was depicted in the other things that were ACTUALLY about him in game #and since a big driving force in the story is trying to get 'tyr' to Lead Them To Ragnarok because of the prophecies #it would have been obvious. if those prophecies had both hands and tyr did not that the one in the prophecies was not supposed to be tyr #are you picking up what im putting down. do you understand #its just weird that they took away the actual god tyr's like. most notable characteristic (missing hand bc of fenrir)#and explained it away in a random travel dialogue like 'oh yeah he just grew it back'#like there has to be a reason !!!!!!!!!#they play with the gods designs but like with odin and thor they keep the most notable parts of the actual gods descriptions #anyway. sorry for 90% of this being insanity in the tags. many thoughts #talkin about goddy war
