With Love// F.W x Reader pt.4
Summary: Y/n Dursley of number 4 Privet Drive hates her life. That was, of course, until the summer before grade 9, after an oddly charming redhead and his brothers helped her cousin escape. it was probably a good thing he forgot to return that key.
word count: 1.7k
Tumblr media
The letter came one June afternoon.
Y/n was on her way back from school, and her brother running off with his friends to do god knows what.
Her father was at work, and her mother was out getting groceries.
She had the house to herself and couldn’t have been more elated.
A light tapping on the widow by the kitchen sink alerted her to the barn owl.
She stood up, making her way over and tentatively taking the letter from its beak.

She turned the letter over; sure, this was again a letter explaining what Hyginks Harry had gotten himself into this month.
To her surprise, it was an invitation.
Dursley Family,
You have been cordially invited to spectate the third and final task of the 1994/95 Triwizard Tournament.
If you are to accept this invitation, we expect your owl no later than June 20th.
A representative will escort you to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at 11:30 am on June 24th.
We eagerly await your reply.
Yours sincerely
Minerva McGonagall
Deputy Headmistress
She grinned as she read the letter. She turned to the owl that was still perched on the window sill.
“Can you just wait a moment?” She asked the owl; it simply blinked at her with its large eyes.
She ran up to her room, grabbing a pen, paper and the owl treats from her room.
She stopped at her kitchen table, quickly scribbling down a reply.
Dear Deputy Headmistress Minerva McGonagall
I would be delighted to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to spectate the 1994/95 Triwizard tournament.
The rest of my family will not be in attendance.
Yours Sincerely
Y/n Dursley
Harry’s Favourite Cousin
She folded the paper in half.
She gave the owl a treat before handing it the letter and watching it fly off into the evening sky.
She grinned, excitement bubbling in her chest at the prospect of being able to see the magic school. She, a muggle (Which Harry would often call her to annoy her), surely this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Her spirits were high all evening; even her mother's nagging couldn’t wipe the grin off her face.
“Why are you so happy?” Dudley had asked rather loudly.
y/n shrugged.
“It’s nothing, and even if it were, I wouldn’t tell you because you would just spoil it,” she shot back.
“I would not,” he protested, face scrunching up and beginning to turn red.
“Yes, you would; you always do. Remember my year four violin recital? I was so excited to show Mum and Dad what I had been working on, and the night before, you threw a tantrum because you didn’t want to go, and I had to miss my own recital,” she explained.
“I did not!” he was beginning to sound like an overgrown baby.
“Or what about when I was thirteen? And I was having my friends stay the night for my birthday, and you didn’t want them in the house because you wanted to play your video games in peace, so you screamed and cried until I had to cancel my birthday,” she retorted.
Dudley was on the verge of another one of his tantrums; she could feel it. His face was red as a tomato, and he breathed heavier than normal.
“So no, Dudley, I’m not going to tell you why I’m so happy tonight,”
“Mum!” Dudley wailed, throwing himself onto the ground.
Three seconds flat, and their mother was already by his side.
“What’s wrong, duddies?” She cooed.
“Y/n’s tormenting me,” he fake bawled.
She turned her attention to her daughter.
“What have I said about bullying your brother Y/n? You’re sixteen now; this is completely unacceptable behaviour,” She screeched.
Y/n shrugged, turning around to make her way up the steps.
“I ought to ask the Weasley twins for more of those magical toffees,” She said loudly enough for her brother to hear.
She grinned at the genuine scream of terror he let out at her words.
She didn’t have to wait long for a reply from the deputy headmistress.
It was the Saturday of the same week the letter had initially arrived. This time it was delivered directly to her.

Dear Miss Dursley,
We appreciate your timely reply.
Due to the nature of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it is pertinent that a witch or wizard must escort all Muggle Family Members.
A representative will arrive at precisely 11:15 a.m on the 24th of June and escort you to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where you will be able to spectate the third and final task of the 1994/95 Triwizard tournament.
If you have any questions or further enquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely
Minerva McGonagall
Deputy Headmistress
She grinned at the letter in her hands, an excitement she hadn’t felt before making its way to the surface.
She couldn’t help the slight squeal of excitement from her lips.
It seemed the morning of June 24th couldn’t come fast enough.
She hadn’t told her parents what was happening, fearing they would lock her away in her room or something just as horrible.
By some good fortune, everyone in her household was out that Friday.
Her father was at work, her brother at school and her mother was out with her friends for brunch.
Three loud knocks echoed through the silent house.
Y/n jumped up from the couch, swinging the door open.
“Hello Y/n,”
She was slightly taken aback by the man standing before her, but a wide grin cracked across her face.
“Mr Weasley, it’s good to see you. I take it you’re my escort to Hogwarts?” She questioned.
Mr Weasley nodded his head.
“That’s right when McGonnagll told me you wanted to watch Harry in the last trial, I immediately volunteered myself.”
She smiled bashfully at him.
Stepping out into the warm June morning, she clutched the bouquet of flowers she got her cousin, Mr Weasley instructed her to grip his arm tightly and not let go.
Hesitantly she did as she was told.
In less than five seconds, they were standing in a little village she did not recognise, considerably more nauseous than she was a moment ago.
“What the hell was that?” She asked, willing herself not to throw up.
Mr Weasley let out an amused laugh.
“Sorry, I often forget Muggles aren’t used to magical travel,”
Y/n took a second, dropping the bouquet to the ground and inhaling deeply, placing her hands on her knees.
“Are you alright?” He asked, now slightly concerned for the girl.
She dry heaved a few times, willing herself not to throw up in front of Mr. Weasley. Eventually, the bout of nausea left, and she could stand up straight once more. Collecting the flowers she had thrown aside.
“Okay, we are all good to go,” She smiled.
Mr. Weasley was still wearing a concerned expression, but he nodded in understanding.
"Sorry about that. Apparition can be a bit disorienting for those who aren't used to it. But you handled it well," he said with a friendly smile.
Y/n chuckled nervously, "Yeah, well, it was definitely unexpected."
As they walked towards the magical carriages that would take them to Hogwarts, Y/n couldn't contain her excitement. The whole wizarding world was still a mystery to her, and she was eager to learn more.
“What's it like?” She began, “I ask Harry all the time but he won’t tell me anything interesting, he mostly just talks about quidditch and his classes and stuff. Are there any rules I should know about?"
As they settled into one of the carriages, Y/n couldn't help but be curious about Mr. Weasley's world. "And what about the Ministry of Magic? How does it work? Are there laws that everyone must follow?"
Mr. Weasley nodded, happy to elaborate. "Yes, indeed. The Ministry of Magic oversees magical law in Britain. We have various departments, such as the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, etc. Laws ensure the proper use of magic and protect the magical and non-magical communities."
Y/n absorbed the information, fascinated by the intricacies of the wizarding world. As they continued their conversation, Mr Weasley expressed his interest in the Muggle world.
Before she even knew it they had stopped; Mr. Weasley stepped out first and helped y/n down from the carriage.
She turned, excitement bubbling in her chest. This was it; she was finally going to see the place Harry held so dear to his heart. The place she had envisioned for four years.
But to her dismay, ruins stood staring back at her. It was a dilapidated building that was unfit for anyone to inhabit, never the less than 300 witches and wizards from across the country.
“Uhm, Mr. Weasley?” She began jogging to catch up to him as she realised he had begun walking up the path towards the ruins. “Are we in the right place?”
Mr. Weasley stopped and turned to look at the girl, a look of confusion on his face.
“Yes, of course we are, my dear,” he turned back and continued to walk.
y/n hesitated for a moment.
“It’s just, is this like a trick or something?” she couldn’t help the question.
Mr. Weasley paused for a second, a look of realisation dawning on his face.
“I’m so sorry, I completely forgot,” Turning to look back at the ruins “, There are enchantments and all sorts of muggle-repelling charms put in place, you know, to keep from prying eyes. But I assure you, my dear, the castle is here, and once we are past those, you'll be able to see it as if you were a witch yourself.”
Excitement rose in her chest at those words. She was here; she was going to see it.
One moment, it was ruins; the next, it was a magnificent and imposing castle.
y/n was breathless.
Maybe it was her imagination, but she swore she could feel the magic around her.

Marooned: Chapter 23
Kid x FemReader x Killer
Warnings: Murder, violence, torture, gore, sex
Blood & (Rearranging) Guts
There was a giddy atmosphere on the Victoria Punk. The crew was bustling around, pushing canons, loading guns, sharpening blades. Your weapon, of course, was already sharp and loaded, but you wanted something else, which is why you were rummaging around in the kitchen. You hoped Killer wouldn't mind if you borrowed some things. It wouldn't take long to catch up to the Marine ship, especially at the pace you were moving. Kid ordered the Punk to sail at full speed once they were sure they were pursuing the right ship.
Back on deck, Minerva found you and followed you to where Killer and Kid were standing. Whatever their conversation was, it stopped when you walked over.
"Don't stop on my account." You leaned against the railing, looking towards the bow, which would be approaching the other ship any minute.
"Well, princess, we were just sayin how ya shouldn't expect any of us to watch yer back," Kid started. "Since ya like to remind us that yer not a part of this crew so much."
Your eyes rolled at the pet name. You were the precise opposite of a princess. "Don't expect me to watch yours either, Captain," You mocked. "Try to stay out of my way, would you?" You patted his back condescendingly as you walked past him, headed towards the bow. You wanted to have the first opportunity to board.
Killer caught your shoulder, leaning down to whisper in your ear. "Those better not be from my kitchen, darlin." His low voice vibrated against your ear.
"Nothing gets by you, huh?" You motioned for him to bend down again so you could whisper back, "I'm sure I can make it up to you somehow." You winked at him and continued to the bow.
You sat on Mini's back, waiting for your chance to board. The ships were close enough to exchange canon fire. It seemed like Eustass was having fun flinging their cannonballs back at them. You made a mental map of the path you needed to take to get to Giemsa the fastest. You figured Kid would be distracted by killing the marine grunts, but you didn't trust him not to kill your prey if he found him first.
Finally, the marine ship was close enough. Your fingers tightened in Mini's fur as she barreled towards them, using the railing as a kicking off point for an extra boost. To say the men on board were shocked to see an enormous hog land on the ship was an understatement. Using their moment of shock, you tore through them to get to the stairwell. You didn't even have to ask Mini to cover you. That was a given.
Everything else was tuned out the moment you put your hand on the handle of your gunblade. It was slower getting up the stairs, since you had the low ground. Normally, a captain should be fighting with their men, but you knew Giemsa was a coward at heart, only fighting people he could overpower. You were saving your bullets, however, the task of getting up the stairs was slower than you liked, and you were an impatient woman. Luckily, the stairs were narrow, which lended itself to lining the men up nicely for you. You plunged your knife into the belly of the man in front of you until the barrels of the gun portion of your weapon were flush against him. The line of men in front of you fell to their knees as you pulled the trigger. Infusing your weapon with haki let you shoot through the lot of them. Now, it was a semi-clear path, you just had to climb over some bodies or push some over the railing. You heard the wails of them behind you as Mini also stepped over them, a few hundred pounds heavier than yourself. You really didn't care if you killed them or not. They would die eventually and they would die suffering. Maybe they didn't even know about what their captain was up to. That didn't matter to you either. Guilt by association. Your moral compass had broken along with your spirit back then.
The closer you got to Giemsa's office, the more your heart raced. Not with anxiety or fear, but excitement. Just thinking about your plans for him brought a smile to your face. That smile was incredibly unsettling to the marines that encountered you. The ones who fought you were unnerved and some were frightened away altogether by what they saw. You let them go. The Kid Pirates were behind you after all. You wondered which enemy was more terrifying to them.
Mini had a blast barreling through the throngs of marines that were trying to defend their captain. Her coarse fur and thick skin prevented their blades from doing much harm, even more so because the wielders were pathetically weak. The boar would spear through her adversaries with her tusks and shake her head back and forth to fling them off. And if she didn't kill them like that, she trampled them. Clearly, she had a lot of pent up energy from being stuck on a boat, unable to run around.
Walking through the now-clear hall, you stood in front of the door you knew led to Giemsa. Instead of kicking it open, you knocked in code. It was something marines did sometimes to identify each other if they didn't know who was on the other side of the door. Thinking you were another marine, you were told to enter. He was facing away from you, hurriedly explaining the situation on a Den Den Mushi. "M-mayday! T-there's Kid Pirates everywhere. They-" He was cut off as you shot the snail from his hand. Good. He thinks it's only Kid Pirates. He did until he turned around. Then, whatever state of despair he was in was multiplied tenfold as his eyes went wide.
"Didn't I tell you I would come back?" You sat on his desk, across from him, gun pointed at his head. "Lose your weapons, pretty please." He did as he was told, pulling his sword from its scabbard and throwing it down. "Good boy, now strip." He gave you a pathetic look. "I don't trust you to actually disarm yourself, so strip." You used your gun to point to where you wanted him to stand. "And bring your chair over here."
He slowly started to disrobe. "Y-you know there's other marines on their way. A-admirals maybe even."
You put a warning shot through the wall next to his head. "Shut up and strip. No one is coming for your bitch ass." Where the fuck are you, Kid? I'm not waiting. You bit your lip. Maybe you could just do a tiny bit of torture and then heal him before Kid comes so he's a fresh canvas. You tied him to the chair with his own clothes, save for the jacket, which you were now cutting your trophy from. As you shoved it in your pocket for later, there was a loud commotion from outside. There he is. Giemsa's eyes shifted between you and Kid as the red-headed captain entered. As much as you didn't want to share this moment, you delighted in seeing Giemsa's hope of surviving this evaporate before your eyes.
"Took you long enough."
"I was cleaning up yer mess! Ya left a bunch of them alive!"
"They were gonna die eventually."
"Don't ya like to watch em die though?"
"You guys are psychopaths!" Giemsa couldn't stop himself from blubbering out loud. It wasn't the smartest move, drawing the attention of both of you.
You took a small paring knife out of your belt. Kid laughed behind you. "So THAT's why Killer was in a huff this morning."
"I'm borrowing it."
Kid's curiosity was thoroughly piqued. Usually he went for the big knives if he wanted to torture someone. "Show me what ya got, Sea Snake."
You lifted Giemsa's chin in your hand. "Since you enjoyed so much what was done to my face, I'll grant you the honor of matching."
Before you started, you tore a few strips of fabric from his discarded clothes. With some, you gagged him, and with the others, you wrapped them around your left hand. With the small knife, you started to trace a rough outline of your scars, replicated on his face. He whimpered. "Oh hush. I haven't even started. Just wait until I get to your eye." You took the little knife, starting from his head, and went over the small lines you had made, cutting until you could see the silvery sheen of fascia. Gripping the flap of skin with your fabric-wrapped hand, you started puling and cutting at the same time, no easy task when your materials were struggling beneath your hands. The fabric in your hand helped you keep your grip on the otherwise slick with blood flesh.
A hand came from the side of you and tightly gripped Giemsa by the hair so that he couldn't move his head. You gave a questioning look to Kid. "What?! The faster yer done, the faster I get a turn." Kid watched intently as you skinned half the man's head. No question you had practice with it. There was a finesse to your work. Even after blood was dripping down your elbows, you never lost your grip. Kid almost forgot to revel in the man's torment because he was so lost in the way your hands worked, and how good they looked glistening in red-brown hues.
It was satisfying to watch the skin peel away. Yes, you were aware that it was pretty fucked up to be enjoying this. No, you didn't care. He had it coming. Briefly, as you held up the skin you had cut away, you wondered if you could mail it to Marine Headquarters, similar to what the Warlord, Trafalgar Law, had done. You smirked at your handiwork. Just as your face had been marred, so too, was his. Flinging the skin towards where Mini was waiting, you went back to the task at hand.
Your hand squeezed over Kid's, making sure his grasp was firm. "Hold him tight. This is the best part."
Kid felt his skin heat up where you had left a bloody handprint. The way you bit your lip with concentration and how your voice was practically a purr when you gave him instruction made his heart race.
You grabbed the side of Giemsa's head that was missing skin, causing an intense stinging pain to him, though you barely heard his shrieking through your intense focus. Sliding your thumb up, you dipped it towards his eye. "I really wish you could live and learn what it feels like to have your vision taken from you, but sadly, you do have to die." Pushing your thumb under his eye, it was warm and wet. You maneuvered your hand to loosen the muscles holding the eye in place. During this, Giemsa screamed so hard you thought he passed out for a minute. Finally, his eye popped out, hanging on by the nerve. Wrapping it around your finger, you yanked on it. You held it up in front of his other eye so he could see it, IF he could see it, given that blood and tears were running down his face. "Mini." The boar had been patiently waiting in the background, Killer had been, too, you noticed. She opened her mouth for you to toss your prize into.
Wiping your hands on your clothes, you let out a sigh. Even though it should have been the opposite, for a normal person, you felt a weight lift from you. This was a catharsis. "Your turn, Captain." You walked past him towards Killer. "Try to impress me." Kid growled at your remark and immediately went to work on Giemsa, choosing blunt force as his tool.
It was hard to understand the flayed man, though you could make out him asking why Kid was now his torturer.
"Cuz ya fucked with me and my crew." Kid had the man encased in various metal pieces, crushing different parts of him as he pleased. "And based on what I've heard of ya, I can only guess what yer plans were with my girls." You could hear bones break from across the room.
Killer had his arms folded, watching the little show in front of him. "Nice technique."
You were sharpening the paring knife with a small whet stone, also borrowed from the kitchen. "Thanks," you grinned.
The blonde was definitely displeased with your use of kitchen tools. "You could have asked if we had any knives specifically for this."
"Oh yeah, Killer. Let me just ask for your finest torturing instruments." As if that was the weirdest thing that you could have done at this point. "You barely let me have my own weapon. AND I know the kitchen knives are way sharper."
"Not anymore." His voice was softer.
"Oh my god. Are you pouting?" It was in his tone. Cute.
"Don't push it. I didn't have to let you take them." Killer tilted his head. "I was curious about what you were gonna do."
"I told you I would make it up to you."
"You will."
His deep voice sent a shiver up your spine and you weren't mad at his threat. A particularly loud scream drew your attention back to Kid. "Don't kill him! That honor is mine, remember?" You got closer to see what he was doing. You could tell he overdid it. There were shards of metal sticking out of Giemsa everywhere and he was nearly unrecognizable with swelling and bruising. "Come on, Kid!" You pushed him exasperatedly. "He's practically dead!"
"But he's not!" Kid wiped his brow, getting rid of sweat, yet smearing deep red across it. "I held my end of the deal up."
"Barely."
"So-rry I don't have fancy knife skills like ya." He feigned an apology and snickered.
"Okay." You said, nodding irritatedly. "Then you're gonna learn." You handed him the kitchen knife, handle first.
Kid's eyebrows knit together. "Hah??"
You thrust the knife at him again. "Take it." He took it, an unsure look in his eyes. "Okay, now take the other half of his face off. You were watching how I did it." You folded your arms. Kid looked at you again and started to emulate what you had done. Killer had walked up, too, out of curiosity, to see how Kid would fare.
Kid cursed as the knife created a buttonhole in the skin he had tried to peel off. After a few more times, he threw his hands up. The man had little patience. "Are you happy? I tried."
"Uh-uh," you tutted. "You didn't want to stop before and you're not stopping now."A wry smile crept onto your face. "If I can't finish torturing him how I want, then you'll do." Before Kid was able to protest, you put your hand over his that was still gripping the knife, comically small in his huge hand. His arm was a lot longer than yours, putting you in a somewhat awkward position, pressed against his side. It was hard to ignore the smell of iron and sweat that radiated from him, not unpleasantly so. You tilted his hand slightly, "Your angle is wrong." The knife glided more smoothly, but it still snagged and punctured through the skin. Your usual admonishing tone was replaced with an encouraging one, "Too much force. Lighten up." You could feel Kid was tense under you. Your hand slid to his wrist and shook it until he relaxed. "That's better." You let his hand go, resting it on his shoulder next to your other hand. Once you saw he had the hang of it, you let him finish the job. Somewhat regretfully, you let go off his shoulder and stood back.
Kid was annoyed at first, you bossing him around. He only tried it initially to stop you from bitching at him. So what if he almost killed the guy, you wanted him dead anyway, and Kid wasn't used to sharing. When you put your hand over his, though, his thoughts were instantly clouded. Even more so, when he felt the rest of your body pressed up against his. He didn't even hear what you were saying, more focused on how your words tickled his neck than anything else. Kid was only shaken back to reality when you grabbed his wrist to get him to relax. He felt you lean on his shoulder, resting your chin on it while you were watching his progress. It was either the adrenaline or the testosterone pumping through his veins, maybe it was just you, covered in blood, with your sweet lips so close to his ear and your nails digging into his skin with every stroke of the knife, like you were enjoying it; either way he wanted to sling you over his shoulder and throw you on the bed in his cabin. Now, he watched you. After he had finished, it was your turn again, even though the poor excuse of a man was hanging onto life by a thread. Kid's eyes followed your grinning face as you took out your stupid gun/knife out and pressed it to the man's throat. A part of him wished he was the one under your burning gaze, maybe with a knife, maybe sitting on top of him. Slowly, you dragged the blade over Giemsa's throat. Instead of the red spray that was typical, there was a sad, red dripping line. The look you gave to Kid was withering as you stood in front of him, yelling something about how the guy's blood pressure was so low it wasn't even satisfying. His usual instinct was to yell something back at you, yet all he wanted to do was tangle his hand in your hair and devour your blood-stained body.
"Aw y'all look so precious torturing together," Killer was smirking under his mask, you could tell.
You didn't have a chance to voice your rebuttal before Kid bounced a bolt off his first mate's mask. "SHUT UP, KILLER."
Killer couldn't resist. It was an easy taunt. And judging from the way both you and Kid went red, well, it was hard to tell since both of your faces were spattered in blood, Killer was sure he would do it again. Kid was so cute when he got flustered. Killer couldn't blame him though; you were something else. Killer tried not to indulge himself in thoughts of you too often. He knew you would be a fleeting thing aboard the Victoria and he preferred to take his time getting to know someone. Pretty much the opposite of Kid, who liked to get to know someone starting at whatever hole he could get to first.
It was dusk when the three of you emerged on the deck. You hadn't realized how long you had been in there for. There wasn't a soul in white remaining on the marine ship. The only living occupants were the Kid Pirates looting it for maps, gold, and food. I'm hungry.
As if reading your mind, Killer asked his captain, "So are we going to feast tonight or what?" He was watching several crew carry kegs filled with some kind of alcohol, and crates of food fresh from the island you had just left.
"Fuck yeah," Kid replied enthusiastically.
As hungry as you were, you were not about to eat without washing the gore off. And you had some things you needed to get out of your mind, especially before drinking, namely Kid's scent and the way you could feel his muscles move under you. Both of those things were easier said than done. The first problem was every other girl had the same thinking as you, so all the showers were full. The second problem was that Kid was very hot and it was hard to banish certain thoughts you had about him, chiefly since you couldn't find a goddamn shower to quietly relieve that tension.
You paced the hallway, waiting for someone to finish up. "Other people have to shower too, you know!" You banged on the door.
"I know where there's a shower." You turned to see Kid smugly leaning against his doorframe.
You looked him up and down. "Not a chance." You couldn't take the bait that easily. You would never live it down.
He shrugged. "Suit yerself." Kid vanished into his cabin. He knew you would be back. After all, he had used his powers to turn on the showers and lock the door of the women's bathrooms. They had been long finished by now.
You paced for another 20 minutes before giving up. Fuck it. Sighing, you knocked on Kid's door. It opened almost immediately, like he'd been expecting you. "Can I use your shower?" You mumbled.
He put his hand to his ear, like he was waiting for you to say something else.
"Can I use your shower please, Captain?"
"Only because I'm so nice," He held the door open for you. "Ya know where it is."
You expected to be jumped, but Kid was busy looking at something on his desk, maybe one of the maps they had stolen. Your brows furrowed. You shrugged your jacket to the floor, sneaking a peek over your shoulder. Nothing. You opened the door to the bathroom but didn't close it, undoing your belt and kicking your pants off, as you leaned over to turn the water on. You could see in the reflection of the metal faucet that Kid still wasn't looking. It was making you a little mad. You didn't necessarily want him to be all over you, though now you were a bit offended that he wasn't. What? I'm not hot anymore? Another thought occurred to you. Did I go too far? He's turned off by what he saw me do?
Kid knew you were looking at him. He was pretending to look at a map, though he was actually trying to gauge your true interest in him. He was always the one that pursued you and sometimes under very dubious pretenses. But now he was genuinely curious. Did you want him? Of course he enjoyed when you struggled, because he knew you were into it, or you were eventually into it. After everything that transpired, he didn't want to accidentally overstep. It wasn't enjoyable if you weren't also enjoying yourself.
Now, you were standing in the doorway, stark naked and still nothing. Your eyes narrowed. Okay. I'll get his attention. One well-aimed shot did the trick.
Kid's head snapped up, finally looking at you. "WOMAN, ARE YA INSANE?" That was so close he could feel the heat from the bullet.
"You didn't even peek at me!"
Kid slammed his fist on the desk. "Gods, ya know I wanted to! I thought if I ignored ya, ya might put yer titties in my face or somethin! Not shoot at me!"
You shrugged. Yeah that's probably what a normal woman would do. "I guess." You walked over and stood in front of his desk, hands clasped behind your back.
"Don't ya fuckin act shy now! Ya shot at me and tried to seduce me."
A smirk tugged at the corner of your mouth. "I thought maybe..." You bit your lip. "I thought maybe I went a little... overboard earlier... and scared you off."
Kid threw his head back and laughed. "Are ya fuckin kiddin me? I'm Captain fucking Kid! It was the hottest thing I've ever seen." Kid stood up and started to undo his belts.
"No. Stop." You walked around the side of his desk and gently pushed him to sit back down. "Let me." You slid down between his knees, a little too eager to get past the obstacles between you and his dick. He helped you tug his pants down far enough to let his cock spring free, sucking in a sharp breath when you spit on it and took it in your hand. You knew you would gag if you tried to take the entire thing so you focused on the tip and used your hand for the rest.
Killer chose that moment to pop his head in, since the door was wide open. All he could see was Kid at his desk. "Hey, are you gonna get in?" He said thumb over his shoulder pointing to the shower. "Water's been on for a while."
Kid made some intelligible grunting noise.
Killer couldn't tell if that was a yes or no. "What?" He looked down at the floor, littered with your clothes, and back to Kid, who had his head tilted back. Killer was fairly familiar with that face. "You're gettin sucked off, aren't you?" He sighed. "Okay, well I'm gonna get in then." He started to close the door, mumbling about wasting hot water.
You heard Killer in the doorway ask Kid something, as you bobbed your head up and down. Remembering your promise to make it up to him for stealing his kitchen knives, you poked your head up. "You wanna join?"
Killer faltered for a moment before slamming the door, making you snicker.
Kid pushed your head back down. "Girlie, you're mine fer tonight. I ain't sharin," he growled, gripping your hair and making you go faster.
Your eyes were tearing up as his cock nearly made you choke every time he pushed your head down. Suddenly, he pulled you off him and up, pulling his legs closer together so you could comfortably sit on top of him. Kid was very obviously impatient as he grabbed your hips and pushed you down on his cock, filling you up in one swift motion. You buried your head into his head and moaned. His grip prevented you from grinding on him, which you desperately wanted to do, instead bouncing you up and down on him. With each downward motion, he was hitting your cervix. It was painful, but it was a good pain. You felt his tongue slide up the side of your neck, him moaning as he tasted the remaining blood and  biting at your ear. You yelped but returned the favor, alternating biting at his neck and licking at the blood that was dried on it, from his shoulder to behind his ear. "You're disgusting," you breathily whispered. "I like that about you." Kid laughed between panting and lifted you up, slamming your back against the desk, him hulking over you. As you cried out, he bent down and shoved his tongue in your mouth. Both of you sucking at each other's tongues and biting at each other's lips. Your hands found his hair and tugged him closer to you. He swallowed every moan you gave up for him. The way your thighs gripped him tighter and tighter gave away how close you were.
"Hate me so much but yer little pussy can't get enough of me can it?" Kid teased. "Say it." Kid pressed his thumb into your clit.
"I h-hate you." You played dumb on purpose, defiantly smirking up at him.
Kid growled and closed his metal and on your throat. "No, the other thing," he hissed through clenched teeth, clearly trying to hold out.
"T-this..Nnnlittle," you couldn't think straight between his thumb rolling across your clit and the deep strokes he was pounding into you. "Fuck!" Your back involuntarily arched and heat filled your body, sending waves of shaking pleasure down to your curling toes.
The rhythmic clenching of your sopping wet pussy drove Kid over the edge. He wanted to stay buried in it, but he pulled out and sent ropes of hot cum to splatter across your body that was so beautifully laid out for him on his desk. The only thing that would be better was if the blood was still wet so he could really make a mess of you and smear it together with his cum. You both stayed like that until you caught your breath.
It sounded like Killer was done in the shower. He probably showered as fast as possible so he didn't have to hear Kid fucking you. Kid took off the rest of his clothes before slapping your tit and squeezing it. "Get yer ass in the shower. I'm tryna eat that pussy, too."
He didn't have to tell you twice and soon your back was pressed against the cool side of the shower, both your legs over Kid's shoulders. His tongue and fingers were unrelenting as he ripped another orgasm from you. You doubled over, gripping so tightly at his hair that your fingers were cramping, toes curling so hard that they were cramping, too. "Ah! F-fuck! Fuck!" Partly crying out from pleasure and partly crying out from pain. Kid finally let you down, stabilizing you with his arm when your legs refused to stop shaking.
He taunted you, "Poor brat can't even stand on her own."
"Shut up," you pushed his arm away. You started washing up, trying to get the dried blood out of your hair. Kid did the same. "Did I miss any spots?"
Kid looked you over and used his thumb to rub away something from your temple. "What about me?"
You looked at him with his wet, red hair plastered on his pale forehead. His appearance was so different without his lipstick and goggles. "Just your ugly-ass face." You flicked his crooked nose.
"Rotten, yer so lucky I'm hungry or I would fuck ya until ya lost yer voice from screamin so loud." Kid squished your cheeks in his hand. "Then ya couldn't run that smart mouth of yers."
You giggled at his threat, turning your head to his thumb and resting your lips on it, playfully taking it in your mouth and coming off it with a 'pop'. "What are you doing after dinner?" Your lust-filled eyes slid up to meet his.
When you both eventually emerged from below deck, everyone else was already deep into the festivities, and by festivities, you meant booze. Killer sipped through a straw and waved to Kid, leaning back in a chair. Everyone else was horsing around or stuffing their faces. You looked around and saw Heat beckoning you over. Next to him was Wire.
"I see you're friendly with the captain again." Heat casually observed. He was doing something with a bunch of bottles half-full of liquid.
You were surprised to see the marine ship still tethered to theirs. "Yeah, well, we were going over a map." You were certainly doing somethingover a map.
"Does that usually involve biting each other's necks?" Heat saw your glare and held his hands up. "Just askin. I don't know. I'm not a captain or anything."
Wire laughed at that.
"Fuck off, Heat." You laughed, touching your hand to your neck. You could heal them, but you really didn't care who saw or what they thought. Though you knew Quincy, Dive, and Emma would definitely give you a hard time. "Why is this thing still here?"
Heat was now stuffing rags into the tops of the bottles. "Every party needs a bonfire, Y/N." He handed you a few and lit the rags for you.
A grin split your face. "I see." You cocked your arm back and threw one bottle after the other towards the other ship.
Wire and Heat did the same next to you and a few others joined as well. When the other ship was fully engulfed, the ropes tethering it were cut. You leaned against the railing and watched it burn. The heat from the fire rolled over your face. It felt good. One down. Two to go. You sighed. What would you do now? Leave at the next island? Stick around? No one had asked you to leave or stay. You were dragged out of your thoughts, no, literally dragged, you noticed. There was a purple glow and you felt some kind of metal around your center. Kid. He set you on a bench between himself and Killer.
"Come sit with us, girlie," Kid slung his arm over your shoulders. "How does revenge feel?"
Killer set a mug down in front of you, complete with a straw like his. You took a long drink. "Feels even better with a lovely bonfire afterwards." The other ship was slowly drifting away. You turned back to Killer, who was taking things from his plate, like chicken bones, or other inedible scraps, and putting the under the table. You glanced under the table, already knowing what you would see, and looked back at him with a warmth in your eyes. Mini was happily munching on a pile of scraps that had been dumped at her feet, evidently placed there by not just Killer, but Heat and Wire, too, based on the cleanliness of their plates.
Killer scratched behind his neck. "Seems better than tossing it in the garbage." Killer hated wasting food.
You had wondered why Mini hadn't greeted you when you came on deck. Her heart had been swayed by chicken bones and apple cores. After eating your fill, you sat at the table and listened to Wire and Heat brag about who killed more marines. It was the most you heard Wire say so far. Kid joined the conversation, but instead of bragging about himself, he was telling them what you had done.
"Ya should have seen it! Maybe the next one ya can show em." Kid elbowed you in the side.
Both Killer and you lent a sideways glance to Kid. Next one?
Kid laughed. "She used Killer's good kitchen knives, too." He grabbed his friend's shoulder. "Probably only let her get away with it cuz she's got good-" It was your turn to elbow him. Hard.
"You talk too much when you're drunk." You got up from the table and went to find the girls. You wanted to hang out with them. If for no other reason than to avoid hear anything embarrassing come out of Kid's mouth. Just as you thought, they were unrelenting in their teasing when they saw the marks on your neck. "Whatever. At least I'm getting laid." You flipped them off. This started bickering between them when Emma was caught in a lie, claiming that she had, in fact, also gotten aid recently. Then Quincy started bitching about how there weren't many good options on board and she couldn't wait until they docked in another few days so they could hit the bar. You were in a fit of laughter as they started physically fighting, yanking each others' hair. You were all too distracted to notice Kid coming up and hoisting you over his shoulder.
It was the best night of sleep you had had since the first time you had slept in this bed. You were tangled in sheets and covered in red lipstick. Black sheets were a wise choice when you went to bed in red lipstick all the time, you supposed. Kid was in a deep sleep, snoring the house down. How you slept through that, you would never know. You stretched out and finally noticed the reason you had woken up: Killer was staring at you from the foot of the bed. You sat up quickly. "Uh, a 'good morning' would be less creepy."
He tossed a white piece of clothing at you. "Kitchen. 10 minutes." It was an apron.
You were still a little tired and sore from the night prior. But this intrigued you. You rushed out of bed, quickly washed up, and threw clothes on. Trying not to appear too eager, you went to the galley. "So am I making it up to you in this?"  You gestured to the white apron.
Killer nodded. He walked up to you and adjusted the apron slightly. "Close your eyes."
You did as he asked. Killer was a bit of a mystery to you, but you thought he was probably kinky. You felt his hands at your waist, lightly positioning you in front of the counter. He put something in your hand and curled your fingers around it. It wasn't what you thought it would be. You opened your eyes. In front of you was a cutting board and some vegetables.
Killer was very amused by the confused expression on your face. "Get chopping, darlin." He started prepping some other things.
"What's this?"
"This is how you're making it up to me, line cook."
You blinked at him. "Are you serious? I thought..." Your face flushed. The mood soured for you as you realized you would not be getting any morning action.
Killer laughed. "You thought I was gonna fuck you."
"No!" It was hard to be mad at him when his laugh was so disarming.
"You did."
You channeled your frustration into chopping.

can't find the original post I made forever ago but I'm working on a storyline for this short I wrote 2017-18?
"Today, students," The principal cleared his throat as they stood in front of them, all lined up in the field. "Is the day you will summon your first companion. Depending on their strength level, magical affinity, and your own test scores, we will be separating you into new schedules. Your own focus and magical strength to ensure a positive outcome but don't worry if you can't summon the creature you were hoping for. This is your first day, let your true self shine, and I'm sure we'll see amazing creatures conjured today!"
The reasonably large group of first years clapped and cheered as Makarov smiled from his podium, directing them all to look towards the courtyard they had cleared for this day's events. They were led to line up along the edge of the grass in front of the cobblestone, Lucy and Levy staying as far from the front as they could, breathing out jitters as one by one, watching as students called their spirits.
"Gosh, Lu-chan, I don't think I'm going to be able to summon anything other than a cat," Levy sighed as they gripped one another's hand, their move to the front of the line slow.
"I'm excited," Lucy's voice quivered as the pixie-like girl giggled. "Nervous, but excited! I'm sure mama is watching, I can't let her down,"
If not for her mother, Lucy would be doing it for the Heartfilia name. Their family was known for the most glorious of summons, angels, and spirits of element, their range vast and full, powerful even from the first spell spoken.
"Oh, that's Minerva Orland," A girl standing next to them whispered to her friend, everyone watching as the cocky-looking girl stepped forward and waved to the students with a smirk before casting her spell. A brilliant white light blinded the crowd, wind whipping as swirling as her spirit took its shape. He bowed to her, white scales patterned along the side of his face, dragon wing and claw opposite of a more human form.
"A humanoid…" Lucy gasped along with the others in line, teachers applauding her natural strength. It was the sign of a great magic user, one who could reach unimaginable heights and find immense power. "A dragon, too."
Levy pushed the blonde in front of her as they neared the head of the line, her breath shaky as she centered herself amongst the crowd, and teachers encouraged her to proceed with the ceremony.
"I summon thee!" She chanted, holding her hand out, back straight, and eyes targeted the circle in front of her. "Open, gate of my spirit! Come to me!"
The students took a step back as the ground began a quiet rumble, birds chirping loudly as they fled the area, the air too still to understand what was happening. Some were close to opening their mouths to scoff at the poor girl who could only frighten nature when the ground split and fire rocketed wildly from it.
"Everyone, back away! Quickly!" Makarov shouted as the flames whirled sky high, ash falling, and heat gathering that could've burned anyone who stood too close.
Lucy forced herself to stand still, knowing that any movement halfway through her summon would disrupt the connection she had with whomever she was calling. She stared the fire down and challenged its proximity, letting the spirit know she wasn't afraid of its being, her fingers grasping at the flames to introduce herself. In a sudden flash, they were swallowed back into the ground, the crack closing swiftly behind it.
"All that for no beast? Pathetic." Minerva chuckled, leaning on her spirit who looked apprehensively at the ground, knowing it wasn't over.
"Lu-chan…" Levy shuddered behind her hand, watching her friend tremble at the knees as she still held her ground and coaxed her companion to arrive at her side.
The principal stood with wide eyes and forced a protective shield on the crowd as he felt the sudden clamor of magic flowing into the summoning circle. Lucy promptly fell on her butt as the ground coughed up her spirit in another whirl of rapid fire.
He groaned and sighed, shaking his arms and legs loose as he took in the filtered air around him, turning his nose at the sight of so many spectators around him.
"The hell am I doin' here?" He coughed and rolled his shoulders, smoke falling to reveal the girl in front of him, and the demonic features he sported to the crowd. "Ooh, panties."
"Y-You're my companion!" Lucy informed him as she rapidly stood to her feet and held down her skirt. "I summoned you here!"
"Oh, geez, really? Of course I got caught up in nonsense like this." He frowned, his tail flicking in annoyance as he continued to eye the girl who watched him with a ferocious blush. "But you're cute enough to be my woman."
"Lucy," The principal made his way through the crowd and to her side, keeping one eye on the demon as he continued to stretch himself. "This is no ordinary spirit. You've summoned a being beyond even my strength. No one has been able to conjure the demon, E.N.D, as their familiar in over a century."
"A demon…?"

How does Minerva not being good at glyphs interface with Irving being all about them? Is there drama? Do Irving's spells influence her own choices and in what ways? (Eg, Irving has fully developed the lightning tree so Minerva is inclined to consider lightning the superior element, or stuff like that)
(plz talk more about magic 💜)
irving may have been a little frustrated by her failure to ever crack glyphs—i think she's too impatient and always messes them up lmao—but i also think he'd rather she excel in what suits her than force herself to mimic him
irving's style of magic is pretty versatile, and dedicated; he has the full arcane tree and then one full tree in both primal (lightning) and creation (glyphs), and almost a full tree in entropy (hexes), plus the handful of other first level spells you would expect someone to pick up over the years. i like that, characterisation wise. he's not meant to be a super powerful mage, but one who has studied for a long time, and carefully chooses to focus his learning. it's also a good grounding to understand the different types of mages under his care, and to be able to teach his apprentice the fundamentals of any school they wished to pursue. i don't think he would mind his apprentice having their own interests and he'd probably appreciate them having enough dedication to push back on what they prefer. i also think mentors are there to give you the fundamentals in everything and you're probably more likely to truly specialise after completing your apprenticeship
i very much like that he seems to least favour the school of spirit (with only one spell in it), which i have always cast as the least trusted by the templars. i'd like to imagine he avoids it for political reasons himself, and it fits really great with my hc that he first took an interest in a young minerva when he was called upon to help with her fear of her own natural gift for spirit magic. he was the one who encouraged her to focus on primal magic instead, which she really thrived in because it helps her feel more in control
minerva's personal favourite element is ice not lightning and i imagine them lightly bickering abt it but minerva is fully upgraded in lightning too, it was probably the first element she focused on as a kid bc of him. and anyway they combine forces to dunk on earth tree enjoyers (minerva's had to fight off a laugh from a remembered joke while talking to wynne sometimes)

Last Christmas
Author: Anonymous
Warnings: brief mention of theoretical amputation
Today's first fic is from a new author who has chosen to remain anonymous for now but has gifted us with a fascinating window into the relationship between Dumbledore and Snape. ______________________________
He wanted time off from the brats but a week away from the castle meant a week of Pettigrew, which was somehow worse. The man was so odious he made even bullying him feel like a chore. Besides, the Dark Lord had told him to remain at Hogwarts.
He had endured the Christmas dinner, barely. Albus' high spirits were genuine, but the Christmas cheer among the other staff felt forced, and it had rubbed off on everyone else, with the exception of Hagrid, who was too thick to notice.
The Fenwick siblings had huddled together at one end of the table, faces pinched with worry. Filius had been talking about it in the staff room last week: their mother had been attacked for publishing a pro-muggle pamphlet. Yes, he'd thought, mother in St Mungo's and I know who put her there, and then: father in the ground these past 16 years, and I know who put him there too.
In the staff room after lunch he'd lost at chess to Minerva twice, beat Albus once, then provoked an argument with Pomona about alihotsy cultivation before getting bored when he realised she was drunk.
(Severus abhorred drunkenness. He hadn't been drunk since his teenage years, and even then the loss of control had terrified him.)
He'd left rudely when Hagrid returned from the Hog's Head, and prowled the castle, hoping to find some miscreant child naïve enough to think he wouldn't deduct house points on Christmas Day.
And now it was late, and he was in Albus' office. The snow was thicker than before, with great clods landing on the window pane. He sat on a window seat, leaning against the glass while Albus fussed about pouring drinks.
"I'm to drink with you until you become sentimental and tell me what you're teaching Potter" he said.
"I fear I can only comply with only half of that instruction" said Albus, his eyes glinting with amusement.
"In fact, I must confess to being a little sentimental already. It is, after all, my last Christmas."
At this Severus scowled, and then, looking into his drink said "I still think if I took it off above the elbow it might stop the spread, at least in the short term —"
But Albus raised both hands to silence him.
"Severus" he said, quite gently "you know how this must play out. I made my choice, and now nor you nor I nor anyone else can stop that which must surely come."
Severus grunted in begrudging acquiescence and they both drank in silence, before Albus resumed.
"Talking of those who have tasks - how is the Malfoy boy?"
"The little idiot won't speak to me. Caught him trying to gatecrash Horace's awful do at the end of term, but for what purpose I've no idea."
"Surely he realises the instruction to assassinate me is a punishment?"
"Yes. But - I cannot reach him. He's too stubborn to change, too proud to ask for help, and too spoilt to think he might fail. In short, he's too like his father."
He saw amusement flit across Albus' face.
"What?"
"You'll not thank me for saying it, but save for the name you could have been describing Harry."
Somewhat disbelievingly, he said "You bring up Potter, to me, on Christmas day?!"
"My apologies, Severus" said Albus meekly, but there was an infuriating twinkle in his eye.
Severus turned his glass in his hand. It was crystal, a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. He wondered how it would feel to throw it into the fire.
"Well. Draco does not trust me. And that may be the undoing of us all."
"Oh, come now Severus. I doubt very much that I will meet my death at the hand of Draco Malfoy. In fact, I think I will go so far as to say I would not permit that to happen."
"Of course: only I will be permitted that great honour" said Severus, with heavy sarcasm and not a small amount of bitterness.
Albus did not answer for a long time, and when he did it was slowly, as if feeling for the next step down a dark staircase.
"I know I ask much of many, but of none more than you... except perhaps the boy. It is a cold, cold game we play, and this war will not be won by doing what is kind, but what is needful. I wish it were otherwise. I don't underestimate the pain I must put you through next year, when the Order is turned against you."
Severus rolled his eyes. "What pain? Everyone hates me already."
Albus looked at him seriously, one of his piercing looks, head tilted to one side.
"It is worth putting some thought now into managing your relationships with the rest of the staff once I am gone. Minerva will be angry and defiant, Pomona confused and hurt -"
"- Filius will focus primarily on the welfare of his house, Horace will be frightened and therefore obsequious, Trelawney will drink even more than usual, Hooch and Vector will resign, or more likely flee the country, Pomfrey will carry on as if nothing has happened. At some point Minerva, egged on by Hagrid, will come up with a plot to kill me. If she brings Filius into the loop he will talk her out of it, arguing that it's better to have me, a known and therefore manageable opponent, rather than whichever Death Eater the Dark Lord would see fit to replace me with. Pomona will agree with him, and argue that we should try to appeal to my better nature, but her true motivation will be fear rather than any real conviction."
"Astute as ever, Severus" said Albus. He seemed mollified, although Severus had no doubt that they would revisit this topic again and again until Albus was satisfied.
As their conversation turned to lighter topics, he wondered for the thousandth time if Albus trusted him. He wondered if he trusted Albus, and concluded he trusted him more than anyone else alive, although admittedly that meant very little.
Finally, a gold clock balanced on a bookshelf chimed. Severus had no idea why, as by his watch it was twenty three minutes to one in the morning, but Albus seemed to consider this was time for bed.
"Merry Christmas Severus, my friend", he said. For an awful moment he thought Albus was going to try and hug him, but he just stood there, smiling slightly in his ridiculous glittering Christmas robes.
Severus would usually make some sort of sarcastic comment on his way out, but an honest impulse made him say "Merry Christmas to you too, Albus".
He rarely used the Headmaster's name, and he saw a flash of emotion cross his face before Albus dismissed him with a nod.
He closed the door of study behind him. It was his last Christmas too, in any sense that mattered. For so long his life at Hogwarts had seemed never-ending, the cycle of the school years as repetitive as the long spiral staircase he now descended. But all that had seemed endless would soon be ending. Next year, if all went to plan, he would be Headmaster of Hogwarts, the Dark Lord's favoured servant, and a traitor and a murderer in the eyes of those he fought for. The only man who understood him at all would be dead, and at his hand.
If all did not go to plan, he would most likely be dead too.
Outside, the snow fell steadily and hard, obscuring all that lay below.

To the whole crew, what have you been up to during the break?
Artemis: Butler and I are nigh upon Mars as we speak, within a few Earth days I'd guess, and so we are in higher spirits than we have been in many weeks. My priority now is preparing my experiments and our gear for landing, while Butler is cataloguing our provisions for the return trip. We started cultivating crops a few months ago, so I'm not foreseeing any issues there.
Butler: Still, it can't hurt to double and triple check. I'm not running this marathon only to die steps from the finish line.
Foaly: Don't worry, big man. I've got you in my sights. And Holly's still vying for the Council to send out a shuttle to meet your for reinforcements, if need be.
Artemis: Are they still bargaining for the lion's share of my research?
Holly: We can't expect them to send a shuttle for nothing, Artemis.
Artemis: They don't need to send a shuttle at all--
Butler: Though it would be a comfort.
~~~~~
Juliet: No ETs here (yet), but Lazuli and I have been fighting the battle of the hormones for the past few months. Twin geniuses going through puberty is hard enough--
Myles: It's "genii!"
Juliet: --but twin geniuses with latent magic? I can handle them when they're on the ground, but they get airborne way more than you'd expect. Ugh, I'm too old for this.
Tumblr media
No.1: Haven has been quiet. We received permission from the Fowls to use their defunct manor-turned-farm as a tentative research center/fort. Mr. Diggums has actually been heading the underground renovation.
Mulch: Who knows those grounds better'n I do? Sure, the work's a bit too clean fer my taste, but Fowl clay is top tier, almost worth the paltry pay.
(Minerva didn't deign to comment.)
“Oh, Merlin, tell me, does THE QUEEN OF SWORDS get what she deserves?” She is in THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX & CLOSED to finding out.
— she walks through the world as ;
name → annabeth pebworth pronouns → she/her identification → cis female year of birth → september 1952 - september 1953 face claim → jessica henwick blood status → muggle-born sexual orientation → up to applicant occupation → deputy head hit wix at the department of magical law enforcement at the ministry of magic future information → head of hit wix at the department of magical law enforcement at the ministry of magic, wife of dougal mckinnon
— she is best described as ;
Forged by DRAGONS BREATH, she is the ASSURANCE of a NEW DAWN coloured in scarlet yet the CAUTION warned in it’s wake. The GUIDING HAND of a blade, SURE, STEADY and UNYIELDING in the face of PROTECTION and PERSEVERANCE.  While they can be as TENDER as the whistle of wind through mountains, it’s a gift for only those stubborn enough to unlock a IRON CAST HEART sealed from decades of hopelessly cold, to hold.
— her story starts with ;
tw: death
There is little that Annabeth cares to remember of her time before becoming a Pebworth. Merely a collection of disjointed memories, fractured hope and careless actions from those that were meant to love her. The product of a careless night, Annabeth was born to a mother too young to look after herself let alone a child. Abandoned and left in an orphanage, Annabeth raised her sister Isla with protective hand and the overbearingness of a mother at only seven. Seeing it as her duty to protect her, she vowed even then that nothing would be able to tear them apart. While the orphanage was as bleak and grey, the people inside held hope for the young souls within. Finding families for as many children as they could muster. Isabella and Angus Pebworth hailed from the highlands, simple folk who always wanted a child of their own; the news of a newborn looking for a home brought them to the orphanage. Only to find that if they wished to take Isla; they’d have to take Annabeth too. While it wasn’t what they’d wished for, it was still a family.
Annabeth knew that she wasn’t wanted. Her age made her less desirable, her guarded attitude and protection over her sister was a challenge. Especially when strange things started to happen. The crashing of a plate when tears started to fall, the playing of the gramophone to sooth Isla without it being turned on, the flickering of lights to accompany her tears. While her parents swore the house was haunted and insisted they fled to the Isle of Skye to escape their demons; Anna feared it wasn’t the house but herself. Exploring the fields behind the village they lived, her eyes fell on four figures all of whom were flying. The magic she’d been hiding under her covers at night of flickering flames wasn’t insanity, it was real and there were others just as she. As quickly as her realization came, she was knocked to the ground by COINNEACH MCKINNON [future brother in law]; who was swiftly scorned by DOUGAL MCKINNON [best friend/fiancè]. Annabeth’s short temper and spark only made the McKinnon’s smirk, who welcomed her to join them gladly. The McKinnon’s saved Annabeth from loneliness and self destruction; akin spirits they taught her about the wizarding world, showing her life, freedom and how to finally breathe.
The Pebworth’s fear of magic tore the family apart. Superstitious, the unknown whelm of witchcraft they saw as cursed. Deeming that no child of theirs would have a hand in such unnatural acts, they burned Hogwarts letters upon arrival only until a mysterious cat appeared at their window. Transforming into a woman before their very eyes, PROFESSOR MINERVA MCGONAGALL [mentor] escorted the witch personally to Hogwarts, throwing shame in her wake for their negligence. Hogwarts was beyond anything she could have wished for. Doned in red, she soared with her fellow Gryffindor’s; atlast finally wanted and free. The brightest witch of her year with resilient prowess, the girl excelled far beyond anyone’s expectations. Able to fight her own battles when the likes of LACHESIS MALFOY [adversary] shouted mudblood across the halls, though with Dougal, ALICE YEN [best friend], FRANK LONGBOTTOM [close friend], AMOS DIGGORY [friend], HESTIA JONES [friend] and IAIN WOOD [friend] readily at her side for once she didn’t need to be her own champion. Yielding a fury of protection for the people she loves, the witch’s devotion to safeguard her chosen family and those vulnerable became her striving purpose. Graduating and taking a job as a Auror under ALASTOR MOODY [boss], she became bold and defiant in her untouchable youth.
Though one night, everything changed. Ravagers stormed the mountains of Skye in hope to capture the famed and protected Hebridean Black dragons. The roars of fire shook the town as dragons cried for their children leaving the McFusty calling any wix on the island to help. Fighting in combat alongside the McKinnon’s, McCormack’s, Wood’s and McGonagall’s the families united managed to ward off the thieves; still with great consequences. Isla had followed her sister with the ambition to help. Though at only twelve, her skills weren’t nearly enough to match that of older wix. Caught between a spell and a dragon, in a blink of an eye Annabeth lost her sister forever. With no body to be found, any life that Isla Pebworth had once held; simply turned to memory. Blamed for her sister’s death, the Pebworths disowned Annabeth. Wanting nothing to do with magic and the daughter that had left their greatest treasure dead, they left never to be seen again. Devastated and plagued with grief; Annabeth’s heartbroken cries echoed through the mountains. With a piece of her soul stolen, despite the McKinnon’s taking her in; the witch was unconsolable. Turned reserved from fear of the unbearable grief that comes with love lost, Annabeth became colder and guarded in a fleeting attempt to protect what remained of her heart.
While many tried to heal the mourning witch, it was Dougal who found a way into her heart. Though arrogant, there was something about him that was disarming. For a man too proud and noble it was maddening, she offered a wit as sharp as a viper leaving their interactions often comical to those around them. Years of friendship turned to love as they bickered over games of wizards chess, sipped butterbeers and healed each other through the misfortune that had befallen them. While their years of friendship, love and then engagement were news celebrated by friends, by most however distaste could be felt in their stares. Most surprising of all; Nathair who’s objection ripped through the fabric of the McKinnon family. Obstinate that she wouldn’t tear them apart, Annabeth fled to the hills. Only for Dougal to capture her in an embrace, claiming there was no place on earth that would be far enough for him to forget the bond they shared; assuring it would meet good ends. While fraught with concern at the growing unrest both within her family and community, Annabeth dove into work. While Alastor fought against the head of law enforcement BARTEMIUS CROUCH SR [boss] insisting she become the head of the department of Hit wix, with her muggle-born status; the Ministry board refused.
Angered, Alastor spoke of a group forming to combat against discrimination and offer tangible change; The Order of the Phoenix.Hungry for purpose, while she knows her time will come, with the growing strife she aches being on the sidelines wanting nothing more than to wage her own war. Though, even she knows it's not wise with anonymous threats of violence left in her office. What started as one, became two, till she was finding threats daily scattered on her desk as pureblood propaganda. While the letters of terror and dark symbols are unnamed, even Annabeth knows she’d be a fool not to dismiss such cryptic messages. Keeping them hidden from her friends and Dougal to not cause alarm, Annabeth has taken the situation into her own hands. Seeking consort from EMMELINE VANCE [friend], the pair are trying to detect a magical trace off of any of the letters she has received. Testing the ink and parchment, to see if it will lead to a clue but coming up nout. But with the most recent letter being slipped under the front door, Annabeth’s nerve is growing strained with how close to home the threats are turning. With Muggles disappearing daily and the threat on non-pureblood wix growing; Annabeth fears that it’s only a matter of time before her name is added to the missing persons list.
— she is a LEVEL 8 WITCH & readied for war ;
Havard Gideon Trevelyan
age as of dai: 24 zodiac: cancer height: 5'11 sexuality: bisexual alignment: lawful good class: mage - rift magic (+ spirit healing)
Key Relationships
lady trevelyan (mother)
lord trevelyan (father)
judith trevelyan (sister)
ophelia trevelyan (sister)
hector trevelyan (brother)
hessarian trevelyan (brother)
lydia † (mentor)
minerva (ex-girlfriend)
dorian pavus (romance)
vivienne (friend)
cassandra pentaghast (friend)
cullen rutherford (friend)
Origin
Gideon was born into a large family of devout Andrastians. He grew up singing the Chant, volunteering with the local Chantry, and praying for his older brothers in their fight against Maleficarum in their roles as Templars.
Magic was seen as a bad word in the Trevelyan household. The day his sister's magic manifested was permanently branded in his mind. He was 9 and mostly he remembered yelling and one of his mother's rose bushes on fire. And then never seeing Judith again.
His own magic manifested two years later. It felt like a brand of shame, some sign that he hadn't been faithful enough.
Gideon struggled to adjust to Circle life, although Judith was there. She was older and she'd started believing all these radical things he vehemently rejected. Proposing theories like Andraste herself was a mage, or that perhaps there shouldn't be any Templars.
Thankfully, Senior Enchanter Lydia took him under her wing before his sister could corrupt him too far. She began to mentor him in spirit healing and encourage his magical talent. He was no prodigy, but when she put him to tutoring his fellow apprentices, she saw him really start to glow.
Soon after, Judith was transferred to the Gallows after an escape attempt, at Lord Trevelyan's discretion, lest she go apostate and sour their name in the minds of local nobility.
His parents paid the Circle off to allow Gideon to come home every once in a while. It was mostly to keep a watchful eye on him, but he treasured the opportunity to see his siblings, despite the wall his status as a mage put between them.
He began a relationship with a mage his age, Minerva. She was a prodigy. Naturally gifted and whipsmart and his first love.
Senior Enchanter Lydia brought Gideon in on training days with the young apprentices and let him teach them basics. He was excellent with the children and she started pulling him out of his own lessons to teach more and more.
At 19, Lydia pushed the idea of Gideon taking his Harrowing. It was earlier than the Ostwick Circle tended to do it, but with her express permission, he was put through. He came out of it a fully fledged mage.
At 21, Lydia convinced the other Enchanters to let Gideon teach the young apprentices full-time and thus he was given the title Junior Enchanter and his own private dorm in the Circle.
Gideon loved his life. He loved teaching the children. He flourished in the Circle, his off days spent in quiet contemplation in the small Chantry on the grounds or studying in the library.
Minerva chafed at the attention showered on Gideon, given only because of his connection to the Senior Enchanter and her blatant favoritism. Their relationship struggled.
The Kirkwall Chantry was destroyed and the rebellion began in full force. The Ostwick Chantry remained passive for a long time but tensions were brewing.
A group of mages including Minerva planned their escape, she knew Gideon was a lost cause, a loyal member of the Loyalist fraternity by this point. She left him a note wishing him the best and appealing to him about the need for change in the Circle.
On the night of the rebel mage's escape, a fight broke out. The Templars attempted to reign the mages in. In the fighting, Senior Enchanter Lydia was killed. Gideon, distraught, jumped in front of her body. He was not skilled in combat magics. Putting himself in the fray put him right in the blast of fireballs and lightning being launched at the Templars and loyal mages (earning him the burn and scarring that now marks the right side of his face). Gideon retreated, he took the children and hid with them deep in the fortress of the Circle walls until the fighting was over.
He remained there with the children, Templars, and remaining loyal mages until the Conclave was called.
They elected him and a few others to go and speak on behalf of the Ostwick Loyalists, to show there was still sanity in the Free Marches.
Next thing he remembered was waking up in shackles.
Personality
Gideon is soft-spoken and diplomatic. He's willing to hear anyone out even if he's calling them all sorts of pejoratives in his mind. He's deeply tied to his faith and although he does become less of a Loyalist throughout Inquisition, he remains faithful.
Life as the Inquisitor is a lot for him. He's entirely unused to being looked upon as a leader and finds himself deferring often to advisors. Often found in his room, studying tomes and penning correspondence in an effort to make sense of Corypheus and everything else being thrown at him.
He tends to be merciful in his dealings with prisoners ("andraste loves you") and is willing to hear out the nobles of Thedas, perhaps even when he shouldn't.
Gideon fully believes he is the Herald of Andraste. He believes she sent a mage during this time of crisis to set the world to rights again.
To those close enough to him to see him out of his shell, he is petulant and irritable. Prone to bouts of self-righteousness. He meddles in the business of his friends in an attempt to be helpful, and it tends to backfire horribly.
In his romantic relationships, he is sentimental and adoring. Willing to see the best in people, especially those who don't see the best in themselves.
Dawn of the New Era: The Battle of Hogwarts Unfolds
Magical News & Politics, Golden Trio Era
Written by: Neville Smethwyck
Today, as dawn rose on the 2nd of May, 1998, it cast its light on a landscape forever altered, a tableau that spoke of both destruction and triumph. This morning, we witnessed the climactic Battle of Hogwarts, a confrontation that signalled the end of the Second Wizarding War and the dissolution of Voldemort's reign of terror.
As night fell on the eve of this historic day, our beloved Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, traditionally a fortress of learning, morphed into a fortress of a different kind—a battlefield. The stone walls, usually protective and comforting, stood as silent sentinels to a confrontation that saw forces of good clash vehemently against those of darkness.
In the heart of this extraordinary clash was Harry Potter—the "Boy Who Lived." Together with his steadfast companions, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, they took on a seemingly impossible mission: the annihilation of Voldemort's Horcruxes. Despite their tender age, their courage was palpable, inspiring those around them and illustrating the monumental power of unity and conviction.
Throughout the night, the halls of Hogwarts rang with the chaotic symphony of battle—the whistle and crack of spells, the clash of duelling wizards, the cries of those fallen. However, amongst the turbulence, there were remarkable instances of unshakeable courage.
Professor Minerva McGonagall, the embodiment of strength and resolve, commanded an army of stone warriors, bolstering the school's defences with her unwavering spirit. Similarly, the bravery displayed by our students, many barely into their teens, cannot be overlooked. They stood their ground, wands at the ready, defending their home from the onslaught.
We must also remember those who laid down their lives on this night of nights. Fred Weasley, Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks—each fought valiantly, alongside many other unsung heroes. Their sacrifices will be remembered, and they will hold a revered place in our hearts and our history.
This morning, with the dawn, came the demise of Voldemort, marked by Harry Potter's final confrontation with the Dark Lord. The rising sun revealed the aftermath of the battle, a stark reminder of the heavy price we have paid for our freedom.
The Battle of Hogwarts will stand as a monumental chapter in our shared history, an enduring testament to the courage, sacrifice, and unity of our community. It underscores the importance of standing firm against the encroaching darkness and upholding the values that make our world magical.
This day has marked the end of an era, and the beginning of a new one. Hogwarts, once a stage for this crucial battle, will once again regain its status as a sanctuary of learning, its halls echoing with the voices of a new generation of witches and wizards—a testament to our resilience and spirit.
As we forge ahead, we carry with us the hard-earned lessons from this Battle of Hogwarts, reminding us of the power of unity, the courage needed to stand against evil, and the strength of the magical community. Together, we step forward into a future that, while uncertain, promises hope and resilience. Today, we emerge forever changed, yet unwaveringly stronger.
Fluff-uary Day 1: Holding Hands
One prompt, five ships, five ficlets - enjoy!
Minerva/Poppy
Poppy was barely able to hide her grin when she felt Minerva’s fingers wrapping around her own, holding them tight.
It was unusual for Minerva to initiate even such a tiny level of physical contact in public, yet alone during a school year, but there she was holding hands with Poppy, visibly, in the Three Broomsticks. Their hands resting comfortably intertwined on the table, for everyone to see.
No one said anything. No one even raised an eyebrow, though Poppy was sure Pomona was hiding her grin behind her mug of butterbeer and the corners of Willa’s mouth definitely quirked. But other than that nothing happened. At least nothing anyone would notice, for Poppy’s heart was pounding fast and loud. It might have been the alcohol, but suddenly she felt like she fit right in with the lovesick teenagers that came running into her hospital wing at least three times a week, asking for calming draughts.
The conversation got livelier as the evening progressed, and Minerva resolutely kept on holding Poppy’s, sometimes even brushing her thumb across the fingers, increasing the giddy feeling in Poppy’s stomach.
“What’s gotten into you?” Poppy whispered when their friends were busy debating the prices of the pub.
Minerva looked at her with dark eyes, probably also quite drunk, considering the amount of firewhiskey she had consumed by then. “Sometimes I’m just tired of hiding.”
Poppy didn’t know what to say. Every fibre in her wanted to lean in and kiss Minerva, but she managed to restrain herself. Instead, she gave Minerva’s hand a squeeze of her own. “Me too, darling. Me too.”
Kya/Lin
The Glacier Spirit Festival was always overwhelming. In a good sense that is. The lights, the noise, the atmosphere - it all suited the celebration of the spirits so perfectly. Ever since childhood Lin had loved the chance to witness it all, to take in the different sights and smells. To taste the foods, play the games. Not that had had many chances of being there since Tenzin broke up with her over a decade ago.
She glanced to her side, taking in the woman beside her. There was no better way to describe Kya than saying that she was simply the embodiment of the festival. Her eyes sparkled as brightly as the bonfires, her hair glistened like the soft surface of the snow covered ground and her whole body emanated that contagious exuberance of excitement and joy. Lin doubted she ever found Kya more beautiful. Without thinking she reached for Kya’s hand, wanting to feel her at that very moment.
“You okay?” Kya asked, beaming at her.
Lin shrugged nonchalantly, but couldn’t stop the corners of her own mouth from rising ever so slightly. “Yeah, just wanted to make sure I won’t lose you in the crowd.”
Kya winked at her, squeezing her hand in understanding. “Oh, I promise you, you won’t, honey.” And then before Lin could say anything else, she began pulling her into the masses, saying, “come on then, I need to show you something.”
The grip on their hands never loosened as Lin followed her obediently.
Grayson/Mel
“Oh, look! It’s started.”
Grayson almost dropped her champagne flute as Mel’s hand suddenly grabbed her own to get her attention.
Mel however didn’t seem to notice. She was staring mesmerised at the sky above them. It was magnificent. Grayson remembered seeing the meteor shower on other occasions, when she was young for example, her mother would take her and her brothers hiking in the mountains. It had always been a magical experience, but it was nothing to the way she was feeling now.
Admittedly, the magic on this night was coming less from the meteors, but more from the feeling of almost unbearable warmth that was spreading through her body, caused only by Mel’s delicate hand resting on her own paw. Her eyes kept dropping down to their hands again and again, while Mel’s gaze remained turned upwards, apparently transfixed by the sight of the stars.
Just like everything else about Mel, her fingers were exceptionally beautiful. Long and slender. Grayson regretted wearing her gloves as she wondered if the skin would feel as soft as it looked. Although compared to her own rough skin she was sure it would feel perfectly tender. Her musings were interrupted as Mel spoke her name.
“You weren’t listening, were you?” There was no need to answer the question.
“Apologies,” Grayson muttered, unable to once again glance at Mel’s hand upon her own. Any other person might’ve removed their hand at this point, but as Grayson had come to learn these past few months, Mel Medarda was hardly comparable to any other person. In fact, Grayson doubted she had ever met someone that young who held themselves with greater composure and grace than Mel. And yet there was a certain softness behind the steely exterior of her. A softness barely visible, but Grayson had spotted it almost right from the start.
Smiling slightly, Grayson turned her hand around in a swift motion, catching Mel’s fingers, and wrapping her own around them. If Mel was surprised or startled she didn’t show. Unabashed she met Grayson’s gaze and the two of them simply stared at each other, enjoying the moment between them for whatever it was.
Julienne/Phyllis
Phyllis didn’t remember how many hands of happy parents she shook after the Poplar Nativity Play, or how many hugs she received from the over excited children that had been performing earlier that evening. She did remember, however, when Sister Julienne sidled up to her in the side room of the community centre, which was usually used as a café during the day.
She had been hiding there, taking a moment to catch her breath and calm down her pulse after all the excitement only a full stage production could cause. Millicent and Sister Frances would be fine without her for five minutes, surely.
“Don’t worry, I’m not about to demand your services,” Sister Julienne spoke with a beautiful smile spread across her face and with her hands slightly raised in an appeasing manner. “I just saw you disappear into the room and thought it would be a good chance to congratulate you in privacy.”
Phyllis raised her eyebrows in mild surprise. “Oh, there’s no need, sister. You’re part of the ensemble, you were just as much part of the success!”
“My dear Nurse Crane,” Sister Julienne began as she walked over to where Phyllis stood, reaching out for Phyllis’s hand to take them both into her own. “We both know that my part was barely involved in any of the preparations, whereas you shouldered the majority of all the work. It was a beautiful performance and I fully applaud you.”
Phyllis didn’t know if the nun was realising how her thumbs were gently caressing the insides of Phyllis’s hands, but she certainly did. Still, she couldn’t tell whether it was the touch or the praise that made her blush quite as much as she did.
“Well, I don’t know what to say, sister. Except thank you, for your kind words and your help.”
Phyllis gave Julienne’s hand a little squeeze, unintentionally increasing the hold they had on each other. It wasn’t the first time they had ever touched, but it was an odd moment, in which both felt an unmistakable rush of joy coursing through their veins and neither felt like letting go. The moment was broken when the door opened and one of Phyllis’s pack put his face through the gap announcing that Santa had finally arrived.
Ada/Hecate
“Are my fingers stubby?”
Hecate furrowed her eyebrows in wonder. “I’m sorry?”
Ada was looking at her, from where she sat on her armchair by the fire, with questioning eyes and her hands outstretched, displaying them inquiringly for Hecate to look at.
“My fingers. Do you think they are stubby? They’re a bit short, aren’t they? And I suppose they’re not exactly thin either… well, how could they be? I guess they should suit the rest of my body after all,” Ada laughed but fell silent when she focused on Hecate’s face. “Oh, I’m sorry, dear. You were reading and I didn’t mean to disturb you. I’m afraid my mind was wandering and got stuck.”
Hecate composed herself. Her heart melted a little as she watched the woman on the chair and listened to her ramblings. This was Ada. Her sweet Ada. Overcome by the urge to be close to her lover, Hecate got up from the couch in a swift movement and knelt down in front of Ada, taking both of her hands into her own. With a soft smile she took a moment to study them. Maybe they were a little chubby, but Hecate couldn’t really say. To her they were flawless, with their soft skin that was covered in freckles, and their elegantly trimmed nails.
“I think they’re just perfect.” She said and brought each of them to her lips to grace them with a kiss.
Well I came home
Like a stone
And I fell heavy into your arms
These days of dust
Which we've known
Will blow away with this new sun
Severus pushed into the private chambers attached to the headmaster’s office, gaunt, shaking, practically dead behind the eyes. You closed your book, quickly setting it aside and rushing to his side, brows knitted together with worry.
“First years,” he whispered. “They’re torturing first years,”
“Severus…” you murmured, gathering him into your arms, feeling his tears wet through your t-shirt. “It-”
“No,” he hissed. “Don’t you dare say ‘it’s okay’. It’s not. They’re children. I never, never should’ve agreed to let the Carrows teach,”
You grasped onto Severus’s arms, holding him at an arm’s length. “No. It’s not okay. I know that. But it will be. We’ll get through this. We always have, we always will,” you pushed the hair that hung limp in front of Severus’s eyes away, cupping his cheek. “There’s a student resistance group meeting as we speak. The first years whose cannot go home are protected- well, as protected as they can be in a school full of Death Eaters. Minerva and Poppy have been slipping them potions and salves hidden in their homework. Even the house elves are in on it. If you stop the Carrows now, they will know something is wrong. You need to keep… him on side, Severus. We will bring them down, but we cannot do that if they don’t think they have the upper hand,” Severus nodded, pinching the bridge of his nose. “This will pass,” you reassured him,
But I'll kneel down
Wait for now
And I'll kneel down
Know my ground
Severus took a shaky breath and nodded, letting you guide him to the couch before his knees gave out. “Soon,” you promised him, kissing his forehead. Stroking his hair, you held him close to his chest, lulling him to a fitful sleep.
But Severus gasped, sitting bolt upright and grasping onto his wrist as it burned with the summon of the dark lord. He didn’t immediately get up. “Go,” you said. “You must go, I’m sure there is still some floo powder in the-”
“I know! I know i must go,” he snapped and you sighed, watching him go, knowing not to argue.
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you…
***
So break my step
And relent
You forgave and I won't forget
Know what we've seen
And him with less
Now in some way
Shake the excess
“YN,”
The rasp of Severus’s voice woke you almost immediately. “Shhh… I’m here,” you said, rubbing your eyes as you sat up, adjusting to the darkness; the candles had burned right to the stub.
“I’m sorry,” was all Severus said, and you frowned, pulling him close, knowing that whatever had happened that night was worse than usual. While Severus’s uninjured state indicated that he hadn’t been physically hurt, you knew immediately that he had been tortured emotionally, mentally. “I’m sorry,” he whispered, voice dissolving into a small, weak whimper as he repeated those two words over and over again, cradled in your arms as he yanked on his own hair. You shushed him, untangling his fingers from his hair so that you could squeeze his hands. “H-he threatened to kill you if I limited the Carrows’ power… you’re in danger as long as you’re associated with me. H-he could’ve killed you and my lasts words to you would’ve been those of anger,”
“I know. I know I am in danger. But you are in greater danger, every day. Do not be sorry, Severus. And if you are, for whatever reason, I forgive you,”
Now I'll be bold
As well as strong
And use my head alongside my heart
So take my flesh
And fix my eyes
A tethered mind free from the lies
“Nagini… kill,”
You bit back your gasp as you heard the vicious hiss of the serpent, the groan of pain and the thud of his body on the floor of the shrieking shack. Voldemort slipped out of the shack, his beloved snake beside him, leaving Severus’s bleeding, broken body behind, a forgotten waste product of his reign of terror. Tears slid down your face as you heard Potter creep through.
“Take them,” you heard Severus wheeze, and you knew from the hitch in his voice that he meant his tears.
As harry made to leave the shack, you grasped onto his shoulder, making him gasp and draw his wand. “Get rid of the snake. Get rid of the snake and it’s over,”
Wide eyed, harry nodded quickly, not quite registering who you were (though he was sure he had seen you in Grimmauld Place more than once) and running off.
And I'll kneel down
Wait for now
I'll kneel down
Know my ground
You fell to your knees next to Severus, your tears dripping onto his face, mingling with the salty tracks of his own. Bowing your head, you openly sobbed, your hands stained by his blood as you grasped onto his clothes, feeling the heat of his body still radiating through the fabric, the weak, unsteady thud of his heart against your hands.
Your head snapped up and your eyes widened.
“Severus…”
Raise my hands
Paint my spirit gold
And bow my head
Keep my heart slow
You had never been more tired in your life, yet you refused to allow your eyelids to droop, your mind to switch off, your thoughts to still. Walking up to the Headmistress’s tower (for McGonagall was now the head of Hogwarts), you willed yourself to keep going, to keep moving as you put one foot in front of the other, up the winding staircase. You knocked on the door, just in case there was somebody in there, before opening the door.
The office was empty, most of the portraits snoring, or visiting other frames. Dumbledore’s portrait, however, was wide awake as he stared down at you with his familiar, sky blue twinkle. “Any news, dear girl?” He asked gently and you sighed, running your hand through your hair.
“Still the same,” you said, voice a little high pitched and shaking. “I’ve come to collect a new book…” you had been steadily working your way through some of Severus’s favourite reads, reading them aloud for him, sure he could hear you as he lay in his coma. “And a razor. His five o’clock shadow is rivalling even yours now, and he did- he likes being clean-shaved,”
“Make sure you take care of yourself too,” Dumbledore’s portrait advised you. “Otherwise Madame pomfrey will put you into a hospital bed too,”
The old potions tome lay abandoned on the bedside table with a bit of paper marking the place. You held onto Severus’s hand in both of yours, your fingers occasionally dipping down to check his pulse, to make sure he was still with you as you bowed your head over your clasped hands, your wedding bands clacking occasionally. Kissing his knuckles, you stared up at his face; he hadn’t looked as relaxed as he did in two years, and it pained you to think that after everything, it took a coma to undo the tight knit in his brow.
'Cause I will wait, I will wait for you
“I love you, Severus,” you whispered against his hand. “I love you. Please, stay with me, come back,” you bit your lip hard. “Leave me in this world alone as long as you want, but please... come back to me. You always have, Severus. And I’ll be waiting right here for you,”
And I will wait, I will wait for you
Minerva lights the candles in the office as the moon shines through the window. Noi sprays the room with salt as Morgyn draws a design on the ground with chalk. Faba places the box in the middle of the room as Guidry throws the doll in the room, explaining that he had to chase the toy around the house. Wendy asks if everyone's ready to start, and everyone nods their heads, forming a circle around the box. Chanting and singing fill the room as they use all of their might to cast Temperance out of the doll. Each of the members starts floating in the air, which is a good sign for the spellcasters as they begin the reverse spell while the remaining three start locking her spirit in the box. Temperance fights against them, screaming her lungs out and trying to attack anyone within reach, but the odds are against her. Her original spell is canceled out by the witches, and they soon join the investigators in locking her away. A flash of white light, blinds the six people, but they keep chanting the words and picturing Temperance's soul locked away to never see heaven or hell.
