I rather rent or wait for it to be free to see The Lion King.
The voice acting sounds like it’s good and the visuals are beautiful, but the lack of acting in the animals is bothering to me.
I get they are to look like real animals and they do, but they should act more than just real animals to make a good movie. Why it’s bothering to go from so much emotion, to lack there of.
I keep trying to tell my mom don’t waste your time, but she’s not listening. She hasn’t watched any of the clips. I even showed her one and she still was like, yeah so?
Honestly, I expect Aslan grade acting for a live action Lion.
Maybe Rocket Raccoon.
Like come on. When a talking genetically engineered raccoon outdoes a lion, that’s got to be telling you something?
And they are both Disney as well!
EVEN A TREE HAS DONE BETTER!
I just feel robbed.
You have such a beautiful movie, but lack of feeling in animation.
AGAIN BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL VOICE ACTING, BUT ZERO ANIMATION IN MAKING IT FEEL LIKE TALKING ANIMALS!

Movies You Should Watch This Weekend Instead Of The Lion King Remake
Spiderman. Into the Spiderverse: The exact antithesis of The Lion King remake, a movie studio using a recognizable and financially proven IP to their fullest by taking a lot of risks with it, that ended paying off, instead of just taking the known IP and a proven gimmick, (the live action stuff) and playing it so safe that they shoot themselves in the foot (creatively at least). A movie that goes in the totally opposite direction in it's use of CGI, creating a highly stylised and original look and totally takes advantage of the medium it is made in (animation), instead of just trying to emulate reality.
Be Kind Rewind: All the movies in a VHS rental store get accidentally erased, and now the main characters have to remake them with their resourses. A movie about remakes where they actually in a point, (Spoiler Alert) have to make a home made remake of the Lion King. It is pretty funny
The Jungle Book (2016): if you really insist in watching a remake of a Disney film with talking animals this weekend, better watch this one, in my opinion it is not great, but this one at least it has some merit. It's kind of it's own thing.
Babe: in a sense, pretty much the same visual style, realistic animals moving their mouths while voices come out from somewhere. It’s ironic that decades of advancement in CGI led us back to the Babe or Air Bud kind of movies, at least vissualy.
Leyends of the Guardians. The Owls of Ga’hoole: A pretty underrated film in my opinion, Also Visually Stunning with a way better use of photorealistic CGI, while keeping the charm and expressiveness that animation brings to the table. Disney could re-learn some lessons from this movie.
Black Panther: A superhero movie that by accident ends up being the only valid live action remake of The Lion King, being in a sense kind of the Maleficent take on The Lion King. With humans but keeping the african and big feline themes.
Toy Story 4: Another CGI generated Movie that cashes in on the nostalgia for a Disney movie from the 90′s. But Toy Story actually gives us a New Story, and it’s animation, while still impresive on the level of detail and photorealism, it doesn’t just depends on it, it’s appealing, expressive and also colorfull. If your neares theater is still showing Toy Story 4, you should watch it.
Road to el Dorado. Another underrated animated film in my opinion. Gorgeous animation accompanied with a good soundtrack made by part of the same team behind The Lion King’s music, (Elton Jhon and Hans Zimmer)
The Lion King: Obvioulsy. It's pretty much the same as the remake. But a million times better. The animation may be not as technologically sofisticated, but what they do with it is what it counts, full of color and characters with emotions. it's just prettier all the way around. The music it's also the same. For what I have heard, in some instances better.

“The animals in the new Lion King didn’t express because it was realistic.”
No. No, the animals didn’t express in the new Lion King because the entire production was lazy.
You can animate realistically and still have expressive characters and cinematic lighting that would have made the looks of the new Lion King match the feel of the original.
My favorite movie has all of these qualities.
This movie has realistic animation and captures emotions and has all the beautiful lighting that the new Lion King SHOULD have had.
This movie managed to do this with probably the least expressive animal next to lizards.
Anyway, my point is-- Disney had the capability and budget to make The Lion King remake look visually stunning and emotional on the same levels as the original. Whether it’s James Fuckwad or whatever the director’s name is fault or if it was a matter of rushing the film I’m still angry.
This movie deserved a much better remake.
Also, that cast deserved a much better remake because it was a fantastic cast that was given a sloppy spot light.
This has been my Ted Talk

My Opinion On: Movies; Part 1/?
By far one of my favorite Disney/Pixar movies. It had a bit of hype when it first came out but it was about the movie not being a princess/prince love story, but the story itself wasn’t really talked about. No matter how many times I watch it, it makes me feel good, and I cry at the ending every time. One reason why I love this move so much is because of my own relationship with my mother. 10/10
2. ‘Rise of the Guardians’
There was little to no hype about this movie when it came out (except when people where shipping Elsa with Jack Frost, which I wasn’t really here for tbh). Sure it is a little more targeted for younger audiences but it is still a great movie. The main character is Jack Frost (voiced by Chris Pine) and also includes characters such as Santa (of course) the Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman, come on that’s hilarious), the tooth fairy and the sand man + the boogeyman (Jude Law). Its a cute movie that you should at least watch once. 7.5/10
I feel like this movie is fairly well liked but no one really talks about it. I love it so much. The characters are great and the story is interesting. Plus the music is fantastic - David Bowie, duh. Def worth the watch and the love. Though, the orange things that can remove their own body parts have terrified me from a young age and I still hate them with a passion. 9/10
Classic animated movie. Fantastic music and a great story (based off of the actual Romanovs’ with a magical twist), makes me tear up. I still want them to make a live-action version of it (though not if they ruin it). 8.5/10
5. ‘Magnificent Seven’ (2016)
I love this stupid movie. There are a lot of remakes of Magnificent Seven including a tv series (which is also super under-hyped and unknown its on youtube, check it out). This movie has great characters and has a diverse cast. Though part of me hates the ending, I also love it. It has a great cast (Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, etc) and I love all of the characters. 9/10
6. ‘The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’
A lot of people hate this movie. Mostly because it is based off of a comic book series and apparently the movie didn’t do it justice. But since I have never read them nor do I know anything about them I didn’t have this prejudice. It’s not the best movie, it’s not exactly well-made but I still fucking love it. It is a mix of well-known characters coming together to form a team to beat the bad guy. Allan Quartermane (King Solomons Mines Books), Tom Sawyer (yes seriously), Mina Harker (from Dracula), Captain Nemo, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Dorian Grey, and the Invisible Man. Bad Guy = Moriarty. Its odd but great. 8/10
1. “American Psycho”
I had always heard and seen so many references to this movie that I thought it must be amazing. But when I finally watched it I was...underwhelmed. I guess I just didn’t get it. It was weird. Don’t get me wrong, I am always here for a Christian Bale movie, but this one was a bit too much for me. 4.5/10
2. “Wonder Woman”
Don’t get mad! It is still a really good movie but I was kind of disappointed that it didn’t make me feel the way all the reactions to it seemed like it would. I’ve only watched it once, but I could watch it again and I do want to see the sequel. But Gal Gadot is amazing, so that hype was correct. 7/10
Yes the real event was tragic, yes the movie is good, yes the song is a classic, yes the memes are funny. But I’ve only ever watched it through one time and don’t really care too again. 6/10
I’ve only ever watched the first three, and I felt like they are gradually getting worse. And I honestly don’t know why they keep making them. The story should have ended after the second one. The second one (Judgement Day) is my favorite. Judgement Day = 7.5/10. Rest = 5.5/10.
The Hype was/is right:
1. “Shawshank Redemption”
Classic. Often said to be an all time favorite movie for a lot of people (might be more unknown to people younger than me). Has similar hype to Fight Club (not a similar story). Def one of my favorite movies. An amazing story that I can watch over and over. It’s not a romance or anything but it is still great, and the ending is perfect, 9/10
2. “The Notebook”
I had never watched this because I always thought it was probably hyped up to much, but when I finally watched it (recently) I loved every second of it. Its a great, sappy, and heart-wrenching love story that I can only dream of experiencing. The story isn’t what I assumed it was. It made me cry like 5 times. Plus, Ryan Gosling is Bae. 9/10
Amazing feelgood movie with amazing music and an amazing story. I could watch it over and over. 9/10.
4. ‘Forrest Gump’
A great movie. I’ve seen it probably a dozen times. It is nothing super special to me, but it does suit the hype. Plus it is a classic. 8/10
5. “The Princess Bride”
Another classic that everyone who has seen it loves. A great love story and a good comedy. It’s honestly inconceivable that there are people that haven’t seen it. Wesley is bae and I love him. 9/10
Not Enough Hype:
1. “A Walk to Remember”
Gut wrenching but amazing movie/love story. Classic 90′s jock + “nerd” love story. About 6/10 on Bridge to Terabithia betrayal scale. 8/10
2. ‘Remember the Titans’
Not just another football movie, but a movie about love, friendship, and acceptance in a time were segregation and hate was all that was known. Based on a true story. Plus, Ryan Gosling is in this one too and he is adorable. 9/10
3. “3:10 to Yuma”
I have almost heard nothing about this movie from people. It’s a western of sorts. Another Christian Bale movie, plus it also has Russell Crowe (who is an outlaw bae in the movie) & young Logan Lerman. It’s a drama/western/crime story with a bit of humor thrown in. The ending has a bit of a shock factor and always makes me tear up. It is a great movie. 8/10
4. ‘Secondhand Lions’
So unknown there are only a couple gifs of it on here. Feelgood movie, makes me cry every time I watch it. Young Haley Joel Osment, and Michael Cane. drama/comedy. A great story about love and family with some humor thrown in plus there is a lion. 8/10
5. “Treasure Planet”
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to put this under Underrated of Not Enough Hype. But since I almost never hear anything about it, I will put it here. A lot of people my age know this movie, but those younger and older usually haven’t. This movie is soo good. I love it. It’s a bit unusual but still a great story. It has both comedy and a little bit of drama. Most if not all of the characters are lovable. 8/10
I’ve never heard anyone that I’ve met mention this movie. It’s a Romance/Comedy/Drama starring Christina Aguilera, Cher, Stanley Tucci and Kristen Bell (great cast), It’s a musical with a-maz-ing music, choreography and costumes. 9/10.
Movies I couldn’t decide if I wanted to put on here:
Atlantis: The Lost Empire - Love this movie, couldn’t decide where it would go; could be underrated, hype is right, or even deserves more hype. 8/10
The Iron Giant - Similar to Treasure Planet in style and how much I like it. I’m not sure if it is well known or not, or what the hype about it was even like. 8/10
Avatar - Overrated but also not? It was super hyped and then everyone hated it? So I’m not sure where to put it. I liked it but only ever watched it once. 7/10
Gladiator - Recently watched it, I think there was a lot of hype for it, but I might be thinking of 300. Either way it was pretty good. I love Joaquin Phoenix but his character was creepy af lol. 7.5/10
Let me know what you think, or if there are any suggestion of movies I should add to the next part of this (If I’ve seen them lol)

Kronya is somehow beating Byleth. Sylvain, fearing for his professor life, decides to do the unthinkable. He starts flirting with her. It works.
Kronya laughed as she swung her dagger against Byleth’s sword. He was too angry, and started slipping up.
Deep cuts were made onto Byleth’s arm. If he didn’t finish fast, he was going to bleed out from the injuries.
Kicking Byleth into a pillar, he slumped down, struggling to recover in time.
Right as Kronya was about to land the killing blow, she heard someone call out to her.
(Sylvain) “HEY THERE BEAUTIFUL!”
Both Kronya and Byleth looked up in confusion, staring at Sylvain.
He was waving at her, winking while putting away his lance.
(Sylvain) “Beautiful girl such as yourself shouldn’t be on a battlefield like this!”
Sylvain quickly leaned towards Ashe and whispered.
(Sylvain) That is a girl, right?
(Ashe) I-I think?
(Sylvain) “Would you mind terribly for a dance?”
(Kronya) “…Like a fight?”
(Sylvain) “Nah, baby! This kind of dance! Care to join me, Ingrid?”
(Sylvain) “Fine, lemme show you dear!”
He immediately snapped his fingers and started posing dramatically, singing in a goofy tone.
(Sylvain) “Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk, I’m a woman’s man, no time to talk! Music loud and women warm!”
Everyone ranging from the students to the soldiers with Kronya could only stare in utter confusion.
(Sylvain) “Whether you’re a brother or whether you’re a mother, You’re stayin’ alive! Stayin’ alive!”
“…What are you doing?”
“Dance off, dear! Me and you!”
(Felix) “What the hell are you doing…?”
(Sylvain) “I’m distracting her, ya big turdblossom!”
Kronya immediately turned around to Byleth, and was met with the sword of the creator going into her gut.
(Byleth) “Tell my father I said hello in the eternal flames, you goddamn harpy…!”
Once she crumpled into the ground, everyone looked at Sylvain in awe.
(Ingrid) “Oh my goddess. You flirting with someone actually saved a life.”
(Sylvain) “YEAH! THE POWER OF SYLVAIN, BABY!”
