Looking Back on 2023
I thought I’d write a post about some of the things that happened to me throughout the year. It won’t be as long as other posts of mine that are like this, though.
Early in the year, I started having anxiety attacks, and they continued to happen throughout the year. (For the record, I was diagnosed with anxiety by my psychiatrist last July.) As a result of these anxiety attacks, I spent much of my time off from work just hanging out at home and not going anywhere.
Around the middle of the year, I started to wear two necklaces that have personal meanings to me: a dragon head necklace that represents my dragon guardian, and a stag necklace that represents Cenarius (or should I say possibly Cenarius and/or Cernunnos).
A little after the middle of the year, I started reading a book on Paganism that I got from Amazon: Paganism for Beginners: The Complete Guide to Nature-Based Spirituality for Every New Seeker by Althaea Sebastiani. As of right now, I’m only a little less than halfway through it, but I will say that I find it to be an interesting read so far.
Near the very end of the year, something happened that I would have to say is one of the highlights (if not the highlight) of the year for me: I saw Chris Isaak live on his It's Almost Christmas Tour. To say the least, it was a fantastic concert!
I hope that next year will be a better year than this year was, especially when it comes to my anxiety!

Early Night Elf Empire: Between 15,000 and 12,000 Years Ago
15,000 years ago the Dark Trolls, who would later evolve into the first kaldorei, began worshiping the moon goddess, Elune, who they believed was bound to the Well of Eternity itself. The mystics of the nocturnal tribes claimed that Elune slept in the fount's depths during the day and rose to bless them at night. The dark troll tribes gradually migrated to the Well of Eternity and settled by the shores of the lake. Over generations, the energies radiating from the lake suffused the trolls' flesh and bones, elevating their forms to match their graceful spirits. The independent and nomadic dark trolls were thereby transformed into highly intelligent being with vastly longer-lived lives that made them seem virtually immortal. The former trolls began communing with the goddess and discovered titan-forged words from Elune such as the name "Kalimdor" from which they named the land. Influenced by this newfound language, the former trolls renamed themselves kaldorei - "children of the stars". For many centuries, the kaldorei built a graceful society throughout central Kalimdor. In time, the kaldorei mystics began calling themselves Oracles of Elune and formed the first priesthood that would become known as the Sisterhood of Elune. The early kaldorei empire was scattered throughout the Kalimdor Landmass with their cities and settlements fractured by mountains, rivers, plains and forests. They were often preyed upon by neighboring troll empires, who were frequent aggressors against the peaceful kaldorei explorers. Of all the troll empires, none were more aggressive against the kaldorei than the Amani. When the kaldorei settled in the mountains east of the Well of Eternity the Amani led regular raids against their settlements. During this time, the legendary kaldorei warrior Anasili Moonblade (the "Night Warrior"), who was said to be the Scion of Elune, rose up to oppose the oppressive Amani trolls and won the kaldorei land in the east. It was during this time the early Sisterhood of Elune discovered that in order to spread the will of Elune throughout their scattered Empire, they would need to find ways to protect themselves during their travels.

Elun'nora, Warriors of Elune: Between 12,000 and 11,000 Years Ago
The Elun'nora or "Justice of Elune" (also known as the Elun'serrar "Blade of Elune", Warriors of Elune or Honor Guards of Elune) was an initiative brought forth by the first priestesses of Elune. The original purpose of the initiative was to train warriors in the faith to offer the members of the Sisterhood protection on their travels throughout the Night Elf Empire. Elun’nora served as guardians in a subdivision of the Sisterhood and were formally trained in both martial warfare and Elunarian spellcraft, and unlike the priesthood the Elun'nora were comprised of both men and women. They learned to embellish their martial combat with divine magics granted to them by Elune, and through that they became formidable foes. In ancient times the Elun’nora devoted themselves to the protection of the Sisterhood. Some Elun’nora were assigned to one or more priestesses, while others simply watched over a coven, temple or shrine that was tended to by the Sisterhood. They were not servants. They were shields of the faith, the ones ready to stand in the fire of Elune’s foes. And while most of their practices were rooted in physical and active protection, they also eased potential burdens on a priestess’ shoulder by becoming close confidants. Becoming an Elun’dora once granted an individual some amount of respect in the eyes of the kaldorei. These honor guards were permitted many of the same privileges as sisters of the temple, provided their motivations were in alignment with the Sisterhood’s needs.

Reign of Queen Azshara: Between 11,000 and 10,000 Years Ago
In time, the kaldorei became obsessed with unlocking the Well of Eternity's secrets. They began rigorous studies of the fount's arcane energies and learned to become sorcerers. They harnessed the powers of the lake to construct wondrous cities and roadways. Magic became in inseparable part of life and pushing the boundaries of their intellect became the driving force of their culture. It was during this era of unprecedented growth that the kaldorei's most prolific leader came to power. Her name was Queen Azshara. Under Azshara's reign, the kaldorei empire blossomed into a sprawling civilization that radiated out to the far corners of Kalimdor. Finally, after millennia the cities and settlements of the Empire were united. However, while Azshara was the first to accomplish this great feat, it was also under her reign that the kaldorei caste struggles were born. During Azshara's reign the most powerful nobles of the empire became known as the Highborne. The highborne were gifted sorcerers, loyal handmaidens or guardians to the Queen, or ruled the empire as magistrates or trusted advisors to the royals. All highborne occupied the upper echelons of the empire and believed themselves and their magic to be superior to the rest of their race and the archaic faiths. The practice of the arcane ruled the empire and in time the former capital that once honored the moon goddess was renamed to honor the Queen, changing from "Elun'dris" to "Zin-Azshari". During this era of arcane and vanity, the city of Suramar became the center of night elf worship and home to the Sisterhood of Elune. Kaldorei throughout the empire flocked to Suramar to become priestesses or Elun'nora, no longer feeling welcome to practice their faith among the self-important highborne of Zin-Azshari. The respect the titles priestess or Elun'nora once afforded no longer seemed substantial when compared to Azshara's highborne or other practitioners of magic. In time, the Sisterhood and its honor guards became sparse. Some Elun'nora left their posts, seeking new opportunities in the service of the highborne. Those who chose this path were no longer independent guardians of the Elunarian faith, they had chosen to become servants of the nobility. They began to pursue the arcane to better serve their masters and adapted new martial forms that would later become known as Spellblades and Battlemages. The highborne became fascinated by these ways of combat and spellcraft and began practicing it themselves, eventually forming the Eternal Champions. The Sisterhood began setting particularly difficult trials to those who sought to become Elun'nora, with the intention of weeding out the undevoted. One such trial involved an independent pilgrimage with nothing but a plain robe to a shrine at the peak of one of the northernmost mountains of the Empire. There, the aspiring Elun'nora was to meditate without food or water until they cleansed themselves of their inner turmoil to lighten their souls and connect to Elune.

War of the Ancients & The Sundering: 10,000 Years Ago
(Art by Jian Guo.) As the highborne toiled with the Well of Eternity, the kaldorei began getting in touch with druidism under the teachings of Cenarius, who hoped new druids like Malfurion Stormrage would help their people return to their harmonious roots. Yet, this change would not come. Unbeknownst to all save the highborne, Lord Xavius and Queen Azshara had begun communicating with Sargeras. The fallen titan promised to grant Azshara and her followers unfathomable power. Enthralled, Azshara and her highborne used the Well of Eternity to summon the Legion. Demons stormed across the empire from the capital city, leaving death and destruction in their wake. War, the likes of which no mortal empire had ever witnessed, had come to Azeroth. A kaldorei resistance formed to stand against the Legion's furious onslaught. The resistance consisted of several brave organizations including the Moon Guard, Sisterhood of Elune and the Elun'nora, the Rooksguard, Earthen, Tauren, Furbolgs and the Wild Gods and dragonflights. The skill set of the Elun'nora made them perfectly adapted for battle on the front lines, which was were most served. Their skills in warfare and healing proved incredibly valuable and unfortunately it made them prime targets of the Legion. By the end of the War of the Ancients and the Sundering, the Elun'nora were so few their division was dissolved and they became either priestess, sentinel or watcher in the ages to follow.

Modern Elun'nora: Paladins of Elune
The Paladins of Elune is a new initiative brought forth to the High Priestess at the suggestion of several Priestesses, including Priestess Delas Moonfang. They are warrior-priests or priestesses devoted to Elune. They are inspired by the old lore and old teachings of the ancient Elun'nora, as well as their new allies within the Alliance.

Guardians of nature who seek to preserve balance and protect life, Druids have unmatched versatility on the field of battle. This is in part because druidism is much more than a fighting discipline—it’s a way of life steeped in traditions so ancient that even the origin of their kind is preserved largely in mythology passed on through millennia.
Druids harness nature’s raw energy for an incredible breadth of offensive and defensive abilities, as well as to restore life to the wounded. Through communion with nature and the demigod Cenarius, Lord of the Forest, Druids are supernaturally endowed with the gift of shapeshifting, allowing them to take the form of all manner of nature’s creature and access powers as distinct as they are diverse

“Of course it meant something" The kaldorei replied before adding "but I honestly have no idea what. Poetry was never my strong suit, especially not when I had to guess what the poet was actually thinkign when writing such lines."
Roselyn's face fell just a bit, closing the book of poetry she'd grown excited in sharing, going so far as to read the lines aloud for her Druidic friend. She smiled, nodded faintly with understanding, but it was a clear schism created in terms of conversation she had tried to start, falling flat on its face.
"I dunno..." she tried a little somberly. "I mean...its. ...I dont think it's always what they are trying t'say, but...sort've more of just. What it makes you feel. But. Right. It's not quite so much for everyone."
What she hadn't known is how much of a sore spot the poetry may have been for Asharin, translated from a Guardian of Cenarius. Perhaps Asharin did not truly want to hear the lines at all, nor feel what any of his druidic kin tried to convey.

Elune is the primary goddess of the night elves, associated with the larger of Azeroth's two moons, the 'White Lady', and is the mother of Cenarius and patron god of all druids. As she is strongly associated with healing, tranquility, and harmony, Elune is a goddess of peace but is not always a pacifist. Her manifestation of wrath may be invoked by the strongest of her children to become the avatar of vengeance. Those who survive the ascension of this rite are known as the 'Night Warriors'.

Chosen because of their innate curiosity and eventual unrelenting sense of responsibility to protect the wild, Ursoc and Ursol sacrificed themselves during the War of the Ancients for the safeguard of Azeroth. The ever ferocious and wild Ancient was known as Ashamane, the massive gray panther. Ashamane is the embodiment of the wild, having never strolled beside Freya but stalked far behind. Ashamane met her end during the War of the Ancients as so many other Wild Gods did as she sank her fangs into the Pit Lord Ronokon and was incinerated in the explosion.

The Waywatcher, Malorne, is a powerful and wise Ancient in the form of a White Stag. As one of the first living beings on Azeroth he roamed the land as a guardian of nature, even being responsible for nurturing nature and thus creating it. As the father of Cenarius, his son also inherited this dominion over nature. The Great Stag was killed by demon lord Archimonde during the War of the Ancients but had made an appearance throughout historical events.

Aviana is the mother of harpies and mistress of the Mother Tree, G'Hanir. Aviana grew enchanted with it, as it was more than a tree; it was a source of life, healing, and peace. Aviana spent years melding her power into the tree, and soon all winged creatures of Azeroth dreamed of spending the afterlife flying through its branches. During the War of the Ancients, she was killed bringing G'Hanir with her but was later revived during Ragnaros' Siege on Mount Hyjal.

Goldrinn is a monstrously powerful white wolf who embodies ferocity, savagery, and an unyielding will. He is said to possess unparalleled rage and fury which is looked down upon by Elune. Though being known across all cultures, even extending into the Orcs of Draenor, Goldrinn still feels a will to protect the Kaldorei. It was the fang of Goldrinn fused with the power of Elune that created the first Worgen due to his rejection of her light.

Tortolla is one of the oldest of the Ancients, having been alive since the time of the Titans. Due to this factor, he speaks in an old forgotten language incomprehensible to most. Agamaggan, the Great Boar, was one of the first and most powerful beings to ever live. He was killed during the War of the Ancients after joining Cenarius' rally with the Kaldorei Resistance and his remains became what is known today as Razorfen. He slayed thousands of doomguards and felguards with fury. He stomped the ground with his massive hooves, breathed corrosive acid upon his enemies and cast rains of thorns detaching from his back, causing considerable harm to the demons.

Dryad: A Lore Guide
Tumblr media

History
Evolution (Year -150,000): Dryads are the daughters of the demigod Cenarius, son of Ancient Guardian Malorne and the goddess Elune. Some are fathered by Remulos, son of Cenarius. Their brothers are the male counterpart to dryads, Keepers of the Grove. They are also related to centaurs through another of Cenarius’s sons Zaetar mating with the earth elemental Princess Theradras who produced the centaur offspring. Their children killed Zaetar. Dryads come in two forms: common dryads of the forest and crystal dryads who reside in Crystalsong Forest. Their changed colouration is most likely due to the dragon magic in the area. As well as this, they are related to the magnataur. Lastly, nymphs are evolved versions of dryads, coming in forest and frost varieties.
Out Of The Woods (Year -15,000): It is unknown when dryads first appeared on Azeroth but their own first encounter with other races was when the dark trolls ventured to the Well of Eternity and gradually evolved into night elves. Cenarius became fond of these creatures, teaching them all he knew about nature. Somewhere around this time frame, the yaungol also inhabited the plains of Kalimdor alongside Cenarius but grew tired of sharing their hunting grounds with the trolls, moving south. There, they were enslaved by the mogu.
They Always Come Crawling Back (Year  -12,000): The yaungol overthrow the mogu in a revolt alongside the other slave races. A tribe known as the tauren returned to Cenarius and embraced traditions of the past. They began relearning the lessons of nature and it’s believed that Xarantaur was his student. Back with the night elves, Cenarius noticed their increasing interest with the arcane energies of the Well of Eternity and was disappointed, retreating further into the forest. Many years later, Malfurion Stormrage researches the legends of Cenarius and decides to, alongside his friend Tyrande Whisperwind and brother Illidan Stormrage, to seek out the Ancient. Cenarius reveals himself to Malfurion and seeing promise within the elf agrees to tutor him. Malfurion becomes the first druid.
A Grand Entrance (Year -10,000): Night elven highborne queen Azshara makes contact with Sargeras and begins to use the Well of Eternity to bring him into this world. A night elven resistance force is gathered, beginning the War of the Ancients. In light of the events, Cenarius returns, bringing many other demigods to their commander Jarod Shadowsong to aid their efforts. During a battle, Cenarius is wounded and surrounded and so his father Malorne charges in to rescue him. Successful, it is unfortunately ended by Archimonde killing Malorne. After the Great Sundering caused by the Well’s explosion, dryads ventured out of the forests and the night elves believed them to be an omen of good fortune given their revolt’s overall victory. Following the war, the Dreamweavers powerful druids in Val'sharah began to be tutored by Cenarius.
An Unwanted Pack (Year -9,300): Malfurion comes across the wolf Pack Form of the Ancient Goldrinn. Overwhelmed, he attacks Cenarius who in turn seals him within the Emerald Dream so he may calm himself. Once collected, Malfurion decides that the Pack Form is dangerous and bans its use amongst the night elves. During War of the Satyr, Ralaar Fangfire and the Druids of the Scythe became the first worgen, using the Pack Form in an attempt to rid the satyr threat. With Cenarius's blessing, Malfurion and a number of other druids met in Moonglade and established the Cenarion Circle to defeat the Alpha Prime. For thousands of years after, the night elves remained in relative seclusion. Comforted by this, the dryads started appearing with more and more frequency with their brothers and alongside their father, patrolled Moonglade.
Orcs Incoming (Year 20): The orcs arrived in Kalimdor and attempted to settle in, eventually allying with the humans in an effort to defeat the Scourge threat. The night elves retaliated with violence, seeing their reckless use of the forest’s resources as desecration. A corrupted Grom Hellscream kills Cenarius, prompting further night elf attacks. Cenarius's spirit returned to the Emerald Dream after his death and he was able to sense the events of the Battle of Mount Hyjal. Cenarius saw the orcs defend Nordrassil hand-in-hand with the night elves, who eventually allied with them and developed respect for them.
Dryads, Dryads Everywhere (Year 25): During a conversation between Remulos and Malfurion’s spirit it is revealed  that Cenarius was helping Malfurion fight against the Nightmare that was disrupting the Emerald Dream that caused the corruption of The Four Dragons. Dryads can be found in various locations at this time. Within Ashenvale, the body of Anilia at Xavian; Shael'dryn is a dryad quest giver located at Raynewood Tower in Ashenvale. Illiyana and Therysil are stationed at the Shrine of Aessina [Therysil had been removed, lore may not apply]. Tarindrella is located in Shadowglen in Teldrassil. Therylune in the Master's Glaive in the night elven zone of Darkshore [Therylune removed, lore may not apply]. Cavindra, daughter of Remulos, is found in the caves outside the Maraudon. Rynthariel was the Keymaster of the Talon Den on Stonetalon Peak. With the druids, she built the Den, where they kept many powerful items. She hid the  [Gatekeeper's Key], with which she was able to open caches around the Den. She once guarded the entrance of the Den with Gatekeeper Kordurus. Kadrak had Horde adventurers kill her [Ryntheriel and quest removed, lore may not apply]. Selendra is on Sar'theris Strand in Desolace.
Bladed Edges (Year 26): Within Blade's Edge Mountains Daranelle is located at Sylvanaar whereas Faradrella is at Evergrove. Kelnir Leafsong located on near Bloodvenom Post in Felwood. Tarindrella is in Shadowglen in Teldrassil. Illiyana moves to Forest Song.
On The Chopping Block (Year 27): Taryndrella is grown from the Seed of Thalyss. She was imprisoned in Zul'Farrak by the Sandfury tribe who attempted to sacrifice her to him their loa, Mueh'zala.
It’s Getting Hot In Here (Year 28): Cenarius is revived by Malfurion to gight the forces of the returned Firelord, Ragnaros, in Mount Hyjal. Tarindrella is present during the Firelands Invasion. Malfurion also successfully resurrects Malorne. Malorne joins the Guardians of Hyjal and defeats Lord Rhyolith and the other enemies attacking the Sanctuary of Malorne.
A Bad Nap (Year 32): Cenarius goes comatose Grove of Cenarius in Val'sharah, afflicted by the Emerald Nightmare. The Tears of Elune can save him, but Xavius steals them. Malfurion pursues Xavius into the depths of the forest. Cenarius is battled in the Emerald Nightmare, where he believes he is defending the forests. While he is defeated, he is only unconscious and not killed. The adventurers journey to the Rift of Aln to confront Xavius. After Xavius is defeated, the purified Cenarius is found within the Emerald Dream. Lunara, daughter of Cenarius, is located in the Dreamgrove in Val'sharah.

Due to their great empathy, they read use body language, vocalizations, and demeanor to communicate with animals.
Military: They can become hunters, druids or mages.
Government: Their racial leader is Cenarius and by default through their allegiance with the night elves are Alliance members. They however take their orders from Tyrande alone.
Religion: They have a reverence for nature and also recognise their grandmother - or great-grandmother depending on the generation - Elune.
Traditions
They begin their lives as enchanted acorns, cared for by experienced druids. These druids whisper in various languages to the acorn to teach them about the world before they're grown, and at the first touch of water, sprout into their normal appearance.
They imprint on the first druid they see.
Dryads do not consume animal products.
Young dryads are called fauns.

Chapter 4-7: Twilight of the Gods
On the eve of Archimonde's assault on Mount Hyjal, Malfurion has a vision in a dream.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A familiar raven flies in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's you again, of course.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Prophet is Medivh, another major figure from the backstory. This really isn't much of a spoiler, as he's easily recognizable by his distinctive outfit and affinity for ravens. If you load up the editor, he's labeled as Medivh there too.
Tumblr media
Dawn has come, and Archimonde's attack commences. If he reaches the World Tree, and the Well of Eternity beneath it, all hope is lost.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All three of the Alliance, Horde, and Sentinels are ready to stand against him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Malfurion places a seal on the gate to the World Tree.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We start with three bases and control of most of the map. Our main has two extra gold mines nearby, which I made sure to claim as soon as possible.
Tumblr media
This is a defensive mission and we'll need to give it all we've got to delay Archimonde's army. Jaina's Human base is on the front lines, followed by Thrall's Orcs, with our own base at the foot of the World Tree.
Tumblr media
Hippogryph: Flying assault beast that can attack other flyers in melee. Can't attack ground units.
Ancient of Wind: Ancient that trains flying units. Produces Hippogryphs and Druids of the Talon. I actually unlocked this last mission and forgot to mention it there.
There is an ultimate unit for the Night Elves, but for whatever reason we don't get to use it in this campaign. We'll have to wait until the expansion to see it.
Tumblr media
The attack waves come early on and they don't let up. Tyrande starts out in Jaina's base, ready to fight them off. I sent Malfurion and some support down as soon as I could, while also working on researching every upgrade.
Tumblr media
Both of them have gained a level since we last saw them, and Malfurion now has his ultimate available.
Tranquility: A channeling spell that calls down waves of healing rain in an area around the caster, healing all allied units in a large radius.
This doesn't seem like much, but it's a huge help since we're dealing with very big armies here. It has a shorter cooldown than other ultimates and can be used both in combat and out of it to patch up between waves.
Tumblr media
Hippogryph Rider: Created by combining an Archer and a Hippogryph. Combines the Hippogryph's aerial mobility with the Archer's ranged attack, and has the combined health of both units.
All upgrades that benefit Archers also benefit Hippogryph Riders, since they have the same base attack. They can dismount from the Hippogryph at any time if needed.
Tumblr media
We're gonna be getting a lot of use out of Starfall too, since the attack waves just keep coming.
Tumblr media
There are three enemy heroes, all level 10. The first one we see is this Lich here.
Tumblr media
The second one is a Dreadlord. Hey wait, this is that fat Dreadlord from that one cutscene. I sure didn't think I'd see him again.
Tumblr media
The last one is a Pit Lord, a heavy melee warrior with Shockwave, Thunder Clap, Earthquake, and Reincarnation. Yes, two ultimates, because that's fair. Pit Lords would later become a distinct hero type with unique abilities, but that didn't happen until the expansion.
Tumblr media
The fights get big and very chaotic. I didn't really do too much micromanagement, except for casting Starfall and Tranquility whenever I could. I built Ancients of War, Lore, and Wind in Jaina's base in order to be able to produce units on the front line quickly, and just tried to keep a big ball of whatever units I could ready at the gate.
Tumblr media
Having the Ancients so close was very useful for replenishing lost forces, and we lost a whole lot of forces fending these guys off. With 30 minutes left, we're a third of the way through, and Jaina's base is still holding strong.
Tumblr media
Tyrande and Malfurion have both leveled to 10 by now, thanks to fighting off all the repeated attacks.
Tumblr media
The attacks just keep coming, and I just keep producing units to fend them off. I stayed in High Upkeep for pretty much all of this mission, which having 3 mines helped me support.
Tumblr media
15 minutes left. I think normally you're supposed to have lost this base by this point, but I'm not giving it up. If Archimonde wants to take it down he'll have to do better than this.
Tumblr media
Wisps are starting to gather at the roots of the World Tree.
Tumblr media
10 minutes left and we're still holding the line.
Tumblr media
With a little more than 5 minutes left, we're attracting quite the crowd of wisps up here.
Tumblr media
Tyrande has fallen, and my army is shattered. It looks like we're losing this base after all. All good things must come to an end.
Tumblr media
I had my Ancients fall back to Thrall's base, and worked on reviving Tyrande as soon as I could.
Tumblr media
Near my base is a mercenary camp where furbolgs can be hired. This would be pretty helpful, but the mission's nearly over now.
Tumblr media
Archimonde can brag all he wants, but he doesn't have enough time to break through the remaining defenses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Good response.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And there we are.
Tumblr media
Archimonde destroys the buildings in his path without even a wave of his hand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Malfurion blows the Horn of Cenarius...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...and the wisps answer the call.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now of course, this doesn't make much sense in gameplay terms, since Wisps can't even attack. However, as was recently pointed out to me, Wisps' Detonate deals damage to summoned units. And Kel'Thuzad summoned Archimonde, so technically...
Tumblr media
Archimonde explodes, setting the forest ablaze.
Tumblr media
Medivh provides some narration.
"...as will the entire world."
Tumblr media
"Just as the orcs, humans, and night elves discarded their old hatreds and stood united against a common foe, so did nature herself rise up to banish the shadow forever. As for me..."
Tumblr media
"...to teach the world that it no longer needed guardians. The hope for future generations has always resided in mortal hands. And now that my task is done, I will take my place amongst the legends of the past."
Tumblr media
That's the end of the Reign of Chaos story.
Tumblr media
We're not finished with this game, though. We still have the Frozen Throne storyline to work through. We'll get started on that next time.

For a little while now, in my dreams about my dragon guardian and Cenarius, my dragon guardian has told me to take the path that I feel I should take (among other things), while Cenarius has told me to follow and walk the path that he’s been calling me to (among other things). Now, my dragon guardian has told me to take the path that I feel I should take before in my dreams. Since he’s been telling me that in these dreams about him and Cenarius, however, I can’t help but wonder something. Is my dragon guardian giving me advice when he tells me that in these dreams about him and Cenarius?

WoW crests: Druid
Guardians of nature who seek to preserve balance and protect life, Druids have unmatched versatility on the field of battle. This is in part because druidism is much more than a fighting discipline—it’s a way of life steeped in traditions so ancient that even the origin of their kind is preserved largely in mythology passed on through millennia.
Druids harness nature’s raw energy for an incredible breadth of offensive and defensive abilities, as well as to restore life to the wounded. Through communion with nature and the demigod Cenarius, Lord of the Forest, Druids are supernaturally endowed with the gift of shapeshifting, allowing them to take the form of all manner of nature’s creature and access powers as distinct as they are diverse.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nara’enil, a woman, was not allowed to be a druid until only recently in history. When she was younger, it would have been plausible that she sneaked around and observed the training of the druids in secret. She might have observed Asharin’s training at some point amongst these sojourns.
Perhaps one of those times, she, a young sentinel in training before she obtained her tattoos, witnessed the ill-treatment of him by his fellow students, and decided to intervene with a number of threats to the bullies, with success. While his antlers and gold eyes might have made an impression on her for their rarity, it was an episode that eventually faded from her memory over time.
The reason for this would likely have been because Asharin probably would not have appreciated her trying to help him, foreseeing that it would have only made his situation worse. He might have even berated her. Told her to mind her own business as she had no place in Moonglade or wherever the incident took place. They might even have argued for a while over this.
One of the things Nara would have said was how fortunate that Asharin was to be able to learn the teachings of Cenarius because she could not, and if she was in his position she would have fought tooth and nail to prove her own worth, even if the odds were against her and even if certain Elders made her life difficult, because it was still better than having no opportunity at all. Asharin might or might not have taken that on board at the time, since he did prove his own worth in the end.
While they might not have remembered that incident nor who each other were, they probably would have rubbed shoulders again at some point later on. Perhaps they worked side by side in Hyjal on both occasions, first when Archimonde razed Nordrassil, second when Hyjal burned in the aftermath of the Cataclysm. Just two of many druids as part of the Guardians of Hyjal.
Thanks @asharinhun

Oh boy where do I start with this one lmao. Wall of text warning so click below if you’re brave enough.
So Cyclorn is mates with my girlfriend’s belf monk, Vanissa, and following tradition of me creating a kid for every goddamn character ship we have ever done, I decided to throw all logical reasoning out the window and made one in WoW, too (Hey man, if Elune could fuck a stag and pop out Cenarius anything is possible at this point.)
(I also apologize to all the warlocks for using your badass head mog as a stand-in for cow horns.)
So say hi to Luwuen, my half-elf half-tauren atrocity. I have attempted to make a serious backstory for her even though she shouldn’t be in the game due to a huge gap in time and I can never ever use her in roleplay because of that but shrug. She doesn’t exist until waaay after all the current shit in WoW is settled.
“Shortly after she was born, her parents took her with them to Pandaria in order to start a new life for their family, where they could live in peace and free of discrimination given their unusual circumstances. Vanissa’s parents had already voiced their disdain and wanted nothing to do with them or the child, while her two sisters were fully supportive and were the only ones besides Cyclorn’s mother to keep in contact with them over the years.
Grown up, Luwuen has started training at the Terrace of Endless Springs to become a waterspeaker. Her elemental, Dai Shin, is one of Lei Shi’s protectors given to her as a guardian and companion.”
