so since me and my sister were really little we’ve always had these annual birthday photoshoots with like a professional photographer and everything (it’s what parents do when they have a little too much money i guess) and a conversation went down today when i was selecting the photo for my canvas.

The conclusion, and the first fight.

He had finally escaped everyone....that had not been easy by any stretch....with everything hurting, with his mind and body out of control, they all stretched their arms to help him. To stop him. But they didn't understand. They didn't see the distorted world that his eyes saw for the last day. They didn't hear the thoughts on his head, nor felt the reflex on his arms. They didn't feel the ringing pain, the burning lungs.

No, they didn't. And now he was finally alone, in a cave deep into the forest. He had seen a bear on his way, maybe it belonged to it. Smart animal, it got to live by not getting in his way. He collapsed against the rocky wall, and now, without anyone to harm in the vicinity, he let his magic loose. And it was released like bottled up air, engulfing the entirety of his surroundings. He immediatly took him armor off, as quickly as possible. He felt like it was suffocated him, pushing against his skin.

The pulses of mana were out of control, yet his pain was somewhat relieved. He kept creating heat, raising the temperature rapidly, so much that the rocks started to glow as they burned. As everything burned. A hell was forming, but Ignis didn't even flinch to it. This was nice to him... It was warm...

"Aaaaagh!!!", another surge of pain, hitting his entire body as he doubled over! He felt something moving on his face, and he reached with his hand to feel scales spreading on his skin! He was starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together. That scale that he had found... The urge he had felt, to consume, to devour.... It was a similar feeling to now. An intensity he could not control. Aaghh!!!... Another sharp pain, on his lower back, and below his shoulders.....Was he... Was he transforming??

No, no, that was a positive word. He was mutating further. It's because i ate that scale?? Really? Only that? It can't be!.... His thoughts were starting to become harder as the red lines moved down from his face, to his neck, and to his body.

Should he just let it happen?....

The moment that possibility crossed his mind, he saw a different world. He heard different thoughts, he saw through different eyes, he felt different things. To allow this... To take over.... It meant he would lose himself. He would change. Change to a new version of himself! A more powerful one! Closer to becoming a true predator! A true king! A true lord of the skies! Do it! Accept it! Thats what you are! You are a monster, the perfect monster! You were created for a single purpose. To rule. To rule this pitiful land! Not under the banner of puny humans, but your own!!

"Hahhahahhahahaha... Yes....YES!!...i will take everything!" Ignis spoke, and he didn't recognize the tone of his voice. These were not his words, they were not following his own thoughts, yet they moved from his lips.

Suddenly, he punched the ground as hard as he could, a resounding sound echoing through the forest as the fire violently exploded from his hand end created a massive hole in the earth, even causing him to slide into it a bit.

"No..... I AM.... ME!........ I am... THE KING!.... i am.... A mercenary..... I am a DRAGON!.... i am.... IGNIS! I am IGNIS! And i am....... neither human..... Nor dragon...

I... Am.... ME!!!"

And with the last word, he screamed on top of his lungs, the magic that he had released all violently re-entering his body. His eyes burst into flames, and similar fire released from his lungs and mouth as he roared upwards like a beast. His vision only saw the orange and yellow hues, but his mind had a clear command.

You're mine. You belong to me. You can't have me. You can never have me. Noone can. For nobody deserves me.

And i deserve nobody.

But if i have to choose, then i wont be the one to bow.

The earth rumbled as the entire mountain was shaken, and a bright light pierced the night, as if a wildfire had started. And then.... Nothing. Nothing at all.....silence..all had returned as they were....

Ignise breathed, the first oxygen he had inhaled in what felt like hours. How long had he been here? How many hours had this lasted?... He looked outside. The first rays of the sun were very shyly starting to show themselves. It was... It was already.......

He passed out.
