Both his parents were raised in Tijuana, Mexico His Mother, Izabel was already pregnant with her youngest son and Tomas' soon to be brother Marcel when she chose to leave her husband and go to the United States to live what is known as the ‘American Dream’. They moved to Las Vegas, NV.

His Mother had one of the worst track records with men and without a Father figure in the states Tomas had to be the "man" of the house. He provided for them by holding down a few jobs while growing up.

The worst boyfriend Tomas' Mother had was last by all means. He would take all the money his Mom had earned and spend it. They were basically going to lose their small one bedroom apartment if somebody didn't step up and that would be Tomas. Though what that would amount to wasn't an easy road. The male found that working in that city you could strip and make loads of cash and fast. Well that escalated into prostitution (female and male)- honestly whoever paid more. Sex was used as a means of survival basically.

All that work would amount to something though and he ended up buying his Mother a two bedroom condo. He thought their whole family would get a fairy tale ending or at least a new beginning that was until the boyfriend made his way back to her heart. He moved in.

Though it would all come to an end one fateful night after Tomas had graduated. It would end in his Mother's murder. This was the bow that broke. The following turn of events turned Tomas into the man he is now - a 180 from his kind and providing spirit. He shipped his little brother back to Mexico to live. He felt like a failure so he turned cold and guarded. It was the only fix that solved anything. He couldn't protect the ones he loved the most.

A few years would past and it would bring him into Tonopah Valley and becoming involved into the cartel. It forced him to be tough and cruel which the man needed to overcome the pain he felt with the loss of his Mother. The world around them is a terrible place, cruel, pitiless, dark as a bad dream so if Tomas couldn't fight against that he figured why not join in on that sort of chaos? Life is never a fairy tale and doesn't always have a happy ending after all.

What makes Astoria still appealing to you? Is it related to personal or work relationships?

“Well, both.” Rafael answers easily. As always, his entire body language reflects his personality; confident, laid-back and charismatic. “I was born here” He then clarifies, realising that being vague probably won’t get him far. “But my family moved away for a few years then we came back, then I moved around a couple times. The job I had just wasn’t fulfilling anymore then an opening at NPBC came up, now here I am – again!” In summary, Rafael has always had a reason to return to Astoria – be it personal or work related, he just couldn’t stay away for too long. His parents still lived in Astoria, as did his sister, whilst his other two siblings realised their calling was elsewhere. Rafael had stayed away for 10 months before he was packing up his apartment to relocate back to Astoria. “I guess it’s just appealing to have that familiarity. Astoria is also the only place I can imagine myself ever settling down in”

What’s something about your personality that you’re proud of? And what would you like to change?

Rafael falls silent as he considers his answer to this question. People that knew him well would have a lot to say if they were asked this, and their responses would be incredibly mixed. His air of confidence slips long enough to make him feel as if he is sitting under a spotlight. “I know how to keep people motivated. It’s literally my job to make people happy about getting up in the morning to start their day. Whenever the people I care about need me, I’m there for them to lean on” When it comes to answering the second part of the question, Rafael realises why it took him so long to form a response in the first place. “My Dad once told me that our last name means ‘mature’ or ‘sensible’…something along those lines. I would like to live up to my name, gradually…in my own time. Moving back here, in my own place, and starting a career I’m actually passionate about is a start”

Rafael chuckles and he is immediately back to his earlier self again. “Violent? Me?” He circles his face with his index finger, his laugh settling into a smile. “I mean, the only examples I can think of was in college…I had a friend who was always such a hard head and he’d get us into the worst situations so I had to be the peacekeeper which I hated because it meant that we’d get kicked out of parties a lot” Rafael shakes his head in disdain as if this was just yesterday. “Uh…yeah, sorry, I honestly don't have any situations other than that and I haven't seen that guy since we graduated.”

Your thoughts about supernatural beings.

“I think they’re fascinating…they made all of this” He gestures to the space around them. Rafael can still recall all the history lessons and field trips he would take at school, learning about the story of how Nova Pangaea came to be. As someone that has lived here for most of his life, it was effortless for Rafael to think of the supernatural beings as no different to humans. He never once thought about the number of times he would pass by a vampire in the street or if the barista in the coffee shop was a witch (they made some good ass coffee), it was all the same to him. “When you think about it all of this came to be because of how humans treated them, now we’re able to live here and be part of their society – and I feel extremely privileged to be here”

Personality description:

Shade genuinely cares about people, and it always shows in how he interacts with anyone. He is patient, and kind, but is always watching and studying others. He's gotten used to having to anticipate others motives and manipulations, mostly because he's been in situations where he's had to do the same thing to others. Whenever someone is close to him he is loyal, and fiercely protective. His family and loved ones come before all else, and he'll do anything to ensure they're safe and happy.

Memories of their real life :

Shade was born to a pretty close family, and from a young age all he wanted was to protect it. His two older brothers, Tramy and Bree, were admittedly not his two favorite people in the world, but he loved them even if he thought they were a bit dim. And then there was his younger sister Mare. He adored her, and did what he could to be close to he as they grew up. His youngest sister Gisa was also precious to him, but it was Mare he found a kindred spirit in, and there was no doubts they were closest.

As a boy in the world they lived in, Shade always knew he'd be forced into the army when he turned 18 to fight for the Silvers, the super-powered people with silver-blood that ruled over their kingdom and pretty much kept non-powered red-blooded people like his family enslaved. All he wanted to do was scrape a better life out of the world for his family, but he knew the possibility was slim. As the years passed, he watched his brothers go off to war, and when his eighteenth birthday came he met the same fate. Saying goodbye to his family and being hauled off to a war he wasn't sure he'd come back from.

He ended up with a good job as an aide to one of the officers, and it was because of this position that he ended up in contact with Diane Farley, a member of a rebellion group called the Scarlet Guard. They were reds who were trying to fight back against the Silvers, and Shade started helping them; feeding them information. When he discovered the Scarlet Guard's hideout had been discovered and they were to be arrested, Shade was able to warn them just in time, and as they were escaping his life changed again. He suddenly was able to teleport him and Farley away, Shade now finding himself to be the first Red with powers the Scarlet Guard had ever encountered, and knowing powers existed among Reds changed everything.

He tried to continue on as he was, doing his job and relaying intelligence until he found out he was being transferred to the front line, the Silver's knowing what he was and sending him off to be killed. Shade's life as he knew it was gone, and when they attempted to execute him, the Scarlet Guard ended up saving his life, and he and Farley had no choice but to fake his death. Shade hated it, knowing it would hurt his family, but there wasn't any other choice and he just did his best to focus on the task at hand, while also getting closer to Farley. She was incredible, and overtime it grew into more. First just physical but it was obviously growing into more, despite the circumstances.

Things were going fairly smoothly for awhile, until Mare fell into the Queenstrial and revealed that she too had abilities. Shade couldn't remember being so scared, seeing his little sister in such imminent danger and not being able to do a thing about it. All he could do was immediately begin planning for her rescue, no matter how complicated that might be given she was to be wed to one of the Princes now in an effort to cover up Red's having abilities, and the Scarlet Guard was going to have to infiltrate the palace to get her. The only reason he didn't lose it with worry was his ability to teleport, using it to check in on her when she wouldn't see him and ensure she was alive. Due to a long, complicated twist of circumstance, Mare and the Crown Prince Cal found themselves in an arena about to be put to death, and finally the Scarlet Guard made their desperate move. Shade was reunited with his sister and could explain everything to her, as well as help her as she started the complicated journey that was joining and helping fuel a rebellion.

His role now was one of guard, Shade at his sister's side for every step that he could be, determined to keep her safe. Not only because of how desperately important she was for their cause, but because of how important she was to him. She was his baby sister, and he was honestly so proud of her. Mare was unapologetic and bold, and Shade had no issue following her on their mission to find and save more newbloods like them. Shade was also thankful to have Farley along on the journey, their feelings definitely becoming love, and he knew she would be the woman he spent the rest of his life with if the war ever ended. He loved her more than he'd loved anyone, and Shade knew she was the love of his life.

Unfortunately however, a happy ending was not to be for him. A critical mission ended up going sideways, Shade trying to save Mare and teleport her to safety when he ended up getting a sharp spike through the heart that was intended for his sister. He died how he would've wished to, saving the people he loved.

He died at nineteen not knowing about his daughter, but was hopeful that maybe he'd helped build a better world for his loved ones for the future.

Clint is the youngest son born to Harold and Edith Barton. They have one other son named Barney who is fifteen years older, which put a significant age gap between them. Their father was an angry man who never really wanted children. He preferred drinking to doing any parenting. He didn’t raise a hand to either of the boys but verbal abuse took place and the Barton household never felt like a home. Their mother tried her hardest to make it work.

Some events appear to be constant — the alcoholism leading to the death of Clint’s parents. Only the events that spiraled after that are different in this new life. He was only five years old, holding onto Barney’s hand at the funeral not understanding what was going on. “Where’s mama? Papa?” He would ask but not even the older Barton had the right answer. “It’s only going to be us from now on, kiddo.” He answered after kneeling down to be Clint’s level.

His brother was twenty, having held onto the same job for several years now and it paid well. He took on the responsibility of raising his little brother the best to his ability. They moved into a smaller apartment in Alucard and for a while they were happy. This was so the two of them wouldn’t be separated.

Few years later on his way home from school some older kids jumped him. Without getting into graphic details — the injuries from the beating was so extensive that it left him with head trauma. Barney was worried about his brother and how they were going to pay for his medical expenses. The doctor informs the oldest Barton that Clint lost 80% of his hearing which only made him worry that much more.

They don’t always see eye-to-eye but they’re the only family they both have left. Maybe that’s why the blonde puts up with the anger Barney feels toward him sometimes. You can usually find them signing angrily in the kitchen or living room. They do have their moments where it’s possible to get along but it usually doesn’t last.

Clint made a life for himself. He studied at a culinary institute to become a pastry chef. He knows that it wasn’t a requirement but wanted to take the extra step. It got him away from his brother since it was apparent they couldn’t live together anymore.

Three years ago, Clint got invited to attend an engagement party. One of his friends was getting married and seemed to invite everyone she has ever spoken to — renting out one of the bars in town. He didn’t know a lot of people there but wouldn’t miss out on such a joyous occasion. A few drinks into the night Clint saw the most handsome man he has ever laid eyes on standing across the room. He tried asking the person next to him if they knew the guy. “I’ve never met him but his name is Bucky, I think?” The blond repeated the name over and over in his head while handing the beer to his friend and pushing his way through the crowd. He went over there and introduced himself. He didn’t normally do this but something was telling him to try putting himself out there.

They dated for two years, moving in together in that timeframe. Clint even got a dog named Lucky from the local shelter. He’s missing his left eye and has been there for quite some time the volunteer told him. He didn’t need to know anything else and brought him home. Lucky is a smart dog and got along well with Bucky’s cat to the point they’re inseparable at times.

A little over a year ago, Clint and Bucky got married — the blond added on his husband’s last name to the end of his own. Barton-Barnes. They don’t show a lot of public displays of affection in public but you might see them holding hands. Anything more is usually kept for closed doors. They’re happy although Bucky hates Barney so when his brother stops into town that tends to create some tension if he wants to stay at their place. Bucky will even make Clint lunch to take into work! Which is always better than eating take out again.

Clint is working at The Cat’s Meow as a barista and pastry chef. He’ll work with Marinette on creating new recipe ideas for the menu sometimes. They have a little bit of a sibling dynamic going on, looking after her and always being there when she needs a shoulder to lean on. He couldn’t have picked a better place to work and will always appreciate Adrien for taking a chance on him.

Clint is deaf. If he doesn’t have his BTE hearing aids on he will need to rely on reading your lips or sign if your character happens to know ASL. It makes him really happy when people know sign language!

Not all of Spoken English can be lip-read, some words are incomprehensible. He can figure out what you’re saying by filling in the blanks with the words that were missed while lip-reading. He’ll use outside cues to figure out the context of which word is being used. Since a lot of sounds visually look similar such as. ‘th’ and ‘f’ sounds.

He doesn’t wear his hearing aids at night. You need to let them air out and keeping them in while you sleep could damage them if they fall out into your sheets or end up on the floor where you’ll step on them. They’re expensive and can cost up to six thousand dollars just for one. Clint has two so he wants to take care of them. They’re put on a charging station at night so the batteries can charge.

His hearing will NOT be perfect just because he’s wearing hearing aids. They’re AIDS not FIXES. He will miss parts of the conversation still and ask you to repeat yourself occasionally.

Clinton Barton was the youngest son of Harold and Edith Barton. He grew up helping out around his fathers butcher shop with his older brother, Barney. Their mother was a sweet woman but she couldn’t protect them from what would happen when the whiskey was brought out. Harold was abusive and continually beat both of his boys. It got so bad that the injuries Clint suffered from damaged his hearing. He remembers sitting at the doctors office not being able to understand a word the doctor was saying or his parents.

Eventually his father’s alcoholism caused him to get into a car accident while Edith was in the car, costing both of them their lives. Clint and Barney were sent to numerous foster homes until running away from one of them to join a traveling circus instead. He would adapt his archery skills to become a star carnival attraction, a master archer called Hawkeye. He spent some time as a member of Tiboldt’s Circus until leaving to try using his skillset for fighting crime.

Nick Fury would end up hand-picking Barton to join S.H.I.E.L.D. and he quickly became one of their very best agents. In addition to this Clint would also end up joining the Avengers and West Coast Avengers. He’s one of the best archers in the world and should not be underestimated for being Human.

clint misses the way the world was before it changed. his favorite pizzerias and coffee shops are now missing with all the cities merging together. he worries about what happened to his older brother despite their issues sometimes — barney is the closest family him and his children have. there’s also the matter of the farm missing which is like a second home for him when he would want to get away from the city. he does like that some of his closet friends seem to be brought over to this reality too so he won’t be completely alone, but doesn’t really know what to make of new gotham beyond that. he needs time to really adjust to the city before forming an opinion — new york was already full of crime before the change so this just feels familiar more than anything else.

clint has been living in new york at the time when everything changed. his apartment building disappeared though with the cities merging together. he should feel thankful that his children and dog was with him at the time so they wouldn’t be lost too. the kids aren’t happy about losing so many of their possessions, but it can all be replaced. clint is glad to have kept spare gear at stark tower — which is where him and his family are living for now.
