“I… let’s find out where we are,” he says. “Are you alright to walk?”

Eth’ryne nods, headbutting him before leaping down to the ground and stretching. She seems to be just fine, that’s good. Climbing to his feet, Val’dran rolls his shoulders and affirms that he also feels well enough, if wary and confused. What sort of magic simply displaces people? Some sort of wildly uncontrolled teleport? It’s… unnerving, not knowing.

Eth’ryne starts moving off, and he twitches an ear but follows. Not as if there’s much else to do, keeping an eye on the walls, not to mention tossing a glance to the floor and ceiling every now and then, looking for any sort of sign as to where he is. The Underdark is vast and treacherous, meaning he could be anywhere from around a bend to Menzoberranzan, to somewhere closer to Sschindylryn or further. And that’s without considering all the unmapped areas…

Eth’ryne stops abruptly, ears perking for a moment before she runs back to him. Val’dran tenses, unable to hear or see what startled her, but she hops up at his offered arm, fur raised along her back.

“Someone’s coming!” she hisses.

Val’dran slinks back along the wall. If someone’s here, then that means they’re probably not too far off from civilisation at least. Now the question is what kind of civilisation. Drow? Or other?

You know how I've been complaining about Everlark and Silverparry deniers this past year. They've been bugging me a lot.

Today I saw a tweet about people being anti-romance these days and harping on the writers whenever the main characters have a romantic relationship. It's getting ridiculous.

I'm now struggling to remember if that was a thing 10/15 years ago when both fandoms were more active. I honestly can't remember because I wasn't on as many platforms as I am now and the ones I had been on seemed very romance-friendly as far as I remember.

On tumblr, I was mainly just THG/Everlark-focused 10 years ago and I honestly don't remember any Everlark deniers coming my way at all. Was it really the case or was it just me living in a bubble?

People today saying Everlark never had romance/they should be just friends are so weird to me as well. I was convinced they were just trying to be different but their persistence is weirding me out. Why does two fictional characters having a romantic relationship disturb you so much? Why are you hell bent on denying what the writer wrote in her books?

I don't know. I'm just really confused. Would love to hear your experience and opinions on it.

No, they don't know what's going on either, but they sure would like to find out. Maybe someone along the way will have answers?

Authors Notes: I know a crossover like this is daunting. Not only are there 11 different fandom universes involved, but it's 27k.

First - I try to write all my crossovers so that you do NOT need to know the other fandoms to enjoy this fic. You might enjoy it even more if you do, but you can still enjoy it if you don't.

Second - I believe I have succeeded and I have testimony to prove it! I had @socially-awkward-chocobo read this over before I posted. She has no knowledge at all of HDM, never even saw the last movie for LotR (and doesn't remember much of the first 2), barely knows anything about Ranma 1/2 and doesn't remember anything about Prydain, except that it was read to her once as a child. And she enjoyed the fic :D

prefacing this with i have never seen danny phantom someone i follow just reblogs a lot of dpxdc and i read it

i can't stop thinking about a version where it takes place in the his dark materials (golden compass/northern lights) multiverse because one of the things going on there is your Death is actual separate sentient humanoid being that is created with you when you are born and stays with you your whole life; in most worlds you can't see them until you die and then they guide you into the afterlife. its been awhile since I read it but I believe your death couldn't go into the afterlife with you.

and i feel like this has sort of cool implications for danny, who's half dead and regularly goes in and out of the afterlife (even if its not the same afterlife as hdm) maybe he could see his death but his death still couldn't enter the afterlife? just leaves his death behind?

This does also open up the can of worms that is daemons/souls and death -- your soul also can't come with you to the afterlife, if you go while alive and have an internal soul it becomes an external soul (daemon, takes the form of a talking animal) and gets left behind (this is painful), if you die it dissolves and returns to the world. I feel like danny's situation would be like going to the afterlife while alive.

all this to say, i thought it would be really funny if after the accident danny was always being followed around by a talking animal and a whole human being, both of which were technically there the whole time and none of which would be at all familiar to people from his world (the earth part could be exactly the same as it is an fit into the hdm multiverse, I think). also, his death's whole purpose is to guide him to the afterlife after he dies so im just picturing him trying to herd him over to the portal every time he goes ghost

Home-schooled, mainly for her and her siblings protection, she has learnt everything she knows from her inventor father, who wanted to teach his children certain skills he hoped would keep them alive.

He other siblings also have disabilities.

She Is an optimistic, and want's to work to make a better future, but sees what the the Magisterium is doing, and that they are a threat to that future, so Emily has chosen to help in anyway she can to fight against the Magisterium.

I see her helping to maintain a secret tunnel system, getting supplies or people, past the eyes of the Magisterium and into rebel hands.

Under the advisement of her team Spy, she is to play up her perceived 'Helplessness' to fool the enemy

Unlike her griffin version she actually carries a small hand gun, while she never wants to use it, she can shoot, generally prefers to give warning shots first, before having to do worse.

Day 28 - ATLA Azula Fanart

Moving on from the Gaang now, and for Azula's dæmon I went with a Tigermonkey.

Kind of had to improvise here, as the only reference image I could find was of a plush version in the comics, but I'm happy with the design I came up with. And since they are described as being both dangerous and tricksters I thought this was perfect for Azula~

Peeta Mellark & Lyra Silvertongue Comparison:

Lairs, Manipulators, Silvertongues, Sunshine Personality, Reserved Deep Down, and Falling for the Carer.

I said I was going to write about their similarities and today is the day!

First of all, Peeta and Lyra are both blonde. (I'm just kidding.)

The actual first point, Peeta is described as having a silver tongue and Lyra is literally named because of her silver tongue. That's the biggest similarity they have. They're both very charming and convincing. It's like a superpower they have.

They're both very good lairs and manipulators, too. Peeta can lie to a whole nation with a straight face and they'd believe him. Lyra is again, literally named because of her good lying skills and she sometimes can't stop herself from lying.

They both started lying and manipulating people because they didn't have a loving home environment growing up. Lyra was an orphan raised by college staff and she had to lie a lot to get what she wanted. Peeta was in an abusive household and had to lie a lot to just survive.

They both have very outgoing personalities and seem to get along with everyone. But they actually only open up to a few people. Lyra couldn't really trust anyone in her life until she embarked on the journey to the north and met Iorek. Peeta couldn't trust anyone until he had Katniss and Haymitch as a found family. Even then, he reserves his "bad side" from them and only shows them his helpful and sunny side. Deep down, he's so far from the exterior of this super sociable person.

In both of their relationships, their SO is a reserved person who terrifies everyone else, but Peeta and Lyra fall for their SOs first because they're drawn to their tough and caring personalities.

handbinding project: He Says He Is An Experimental Theologian, part 1 of @bicatperson's WTNV/HDM crossover.

This is a remake of one I did three years ago (lent it to a friend, he moved, making an entirely new book seemed like less work than coordinating with the friend of a friend he left it with.) The original typeset was a 6x9 so I had to readjust it to fit 5.5x8.5, and I also changed out the symbols so they'd print more easily. The new ones are a font made by the wonderful rosed from the Renegade Bindery discord.

Fun fact: the arrangement of the hands on the cover also correlates to specific alethiometer symbols because I got that in the weeds about it all.

This cover was a motherfucker and a half because heat transfer vinyl is out to ruin my life: on the original version, I applied the spine art it to the fabric before putting it on the cover, so that I could make sure it was centered. I then tried to use the same HTV to put the symbol on the cover, which did not work no matter how many times and how much heat I tried. (I realized later I'd forgotten to heat the cover first.) So then I tried to peel it up, and it didn't come all the way, so I took that cover off (hooray for wheat paste) and tried putting the vinyl on the fabric before I made the case. despite measuring multiple times, the circle ended up waaay off center. Possibly because I was trying to do this at 11pm. Eventually I just went to Joann's and bought adhesive vinyl, and only adhesive vinyl, even though there was a sale and all vinyl was 40% off. I ended up having to replace the beehive with the night vale eye, because the beehive symbol was a bunch of little lines the adhesive did nOT like, but I think the Night Vale eye looks better anyway.
