So I didn't always, but nowadays I try really hard to respond to every comment thread at least, even if I don't always have the last comment on the thread. I really REALLY appreciate each and every comment and I actually often re-read them when I'm feeling insecure in my writing (is that cringe? maybe lol but it's true)

6. what is the fic your wrote with the angstiest ending?

Definitely The Beauty of Green. 268-word OL: BA drabble that smacks you out of nowhere in the last two sentences. I never write things that short anymore but it just worked

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

A lot of my one-shots back when I was writing for MLB like 5 years ago have happy endings. I prefer more *complicated* endings now, but a genuinely happy ending can be nice too. May I present Drops in a Pond for consideration though? Not traditionally fluffy or sweet, but I like to think it's a soft and hopeful kind of ending.

8. do you get hate on fics?

I haven't yet. I think I'm too small of a creator to get hate lol

9. do you write smut?

I've posted one smut fic before, Under the Moonlight, listed above. It's my top-rated fic so I guess I know a little of what I'm doing. OH and my side-wip I'm working on when SMH is too angsty for me is all fluff and kinky Parkner smut and I'm so excited to post that someday when SMH is fully out and done.

10. craziest crossover:

I haven't written any crossovers, unless you count pulling from marvel canon across different adaptations to make SMH (it's got Gwen and Harry and Miles even though they're not in the MCU 19999 as of now). But I used to write a lot of aus

I don't think so

No, but I would be so honored if someone did! I once had a full conversation in the comments with someone in another language by using Google Translate and that was fun!

13. have you ever co-written a fic before?

I think my writing process would be a little too unconventional to co-write with someone unless we were trading chapters and perspectives. I go back and edit my drafts a lot as I move forward and I would be too tempted to edit their writing too, which feels mean...

14. all time favorite ship?

I LITERALLY CAN NOT PICK DO NOT DO THIS TO ME!!!!! I will be a multi-shipper until the day I die, in basically every fandom.

15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have an idea for a series of long fics making an MCU HS AU inspired by Degrassi, but I think it would be just too many hours and too many words that I won't ever commit to. I love a good HS AU every now and again, but I feel like a lot of people (across fandoms with hs aus tbh) write the characters as if they already have a lot of the canon quirks the characters have as adults. I would want to write them truly as their HS selves, acting like real teenagers and all the dumb shit teens do, as the reader follows along on the journey of their growing up.

16. what are your writing strengths?

I think I really like detail and trying to portray a level of reality with the characters, even in more fantastical settings. I want the character's choices and motivations to be both complex and clear to the reader, even when they're making choices that the reader disagrees with. I also think this is a skill that is more and more prevalent in my recent writing, so my earlier MLB stuff doesn't have as much of it. My OLBA stuff and now my Spidey stuff though? Yeah.

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

Staying motivated to finish WIPS. (This is something I've improved a lot on though and at this point, barring some kind of life-or-death calamity in my life, I will absolutely be finishing SMH. I'm literally 120k of a predicted 150k words deep and going strong sooo).

OH ALSO comedy! I'm so bad at writing funny characters and making them actually say things that are both funny and make sense. Sucks when writing Spidey cause he can be such a little shit with his sarcastic comments and each dialogue point takes me 3-5 business weeks to come up with.

18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I do it very rarely and only when it feels 100% necessary. I had a small bit in Spanish in ch 6 of SMH because Jeff and Rio were literally talking about Peter right in front of him and he could hear the words they were saying, even if he didn't understand them. But it was very brief.

I did it because the POV character literally didn't understand it, so it made sense to have it written out. In fics where the POV character understands what's being said, I prefer it all be written in the fic's primary language, for reader ease.

19. first fandom you wrote in?

A:TLA, like I said. That was back in the dark ages of my Junior Year of HS on my old ffn account that will never see the light of day again hahaha

20. favorite fic you've written?

Every current WIP has always been my favorite because that is what I'm thinking about. So SMH is definitely my current fave. It's my baby and I've put literally hundreds of hours into it (I keep a spreadsheet lol, it's nearly 150 hours of sheer writing, not including the early days of brainstorming and outlining.)

HOWEVER, back in the day, I was really proud of writing Answer Me and it's literally my lowest-rated fic, but I was such a fan of the genre and the Night Circus inspiration. Plus, I love Alya as a character and it was really fun to write from her perspective.

OH, and I'm still proud of Under the Moonlight because it taught me that my acespec ass can write smut and is also good at it, lol. I just have to write smut that's rooted in ~*~feelings~*~ and also has an element of humanism and imperfection. Which is the type of vibe I'm putting into my side-wip rn.

5. What sports do you play/have you played?

I was a competitive swimmer for years (we’re talking State competitor and swim team captain), but that fell away when I went to uni. I have also played: soccer, volleyball, ran track, and most recently I was boxing up until my arthritis wouldn’t let me anymore. 

6. What’s the first thing you notice about other people?

As someone with anxiety tbh I am always assessing if they are a threat 😭 but after that if I’m like, making a friend? Smile, sense of humor. 

7. What’s your eye colour?

dark brown (basically black)

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

I can’t do scary movies soo happy endings. 

9. Any special talents?

Idk I’m intuitive? I’ve taught myself a lot of weird/random technical shit lol (ex. programming a brand new lightboard in hs, and the other day fixing a piece of code on a system at work even though I am about as far from an engineer as you can get)

book 8 for the year

knew nothing going in it was added to the list because it was an always available thriller that had chicago in the title.

read it 2 days last week the 28th and 29th

it was interesting enough

it is about a detective cop lady (booo acab acab!!) and a collection of cases that involve teens ending up dead.

so very early on it is relayed that her cop peers don't like her bc nepo baby shit of her father being a well respected cop

but the community she works in doesn't like her because she has had some policing situations that ended up with people dying.

so anyway first incident the book focuses on is a shooting in a park no witness but there is some fresh graffiti at the scene it says pied piper.

and cop lady takes this very seriously.

her partner is more concerned about her childhood since it was big news that her sister died in the area and she claims to remember nothing from that time after being found in a park nearby.

her father passed and even his retiring partner is like take few days off for his funeral and she is like noooo

theres a few other pov characters those being the kids in the case

it revealed that theres a unit in fairy tales in the highschool english class

and also that cop ladys husband is into fairy tales especially as they relate to the local history.

theres a lot of focus on the fairy tale aspect as this isn't just a regular thriller its a horror magical one in which the fairy tale story of the pied piper who lures kids away from a town after not being payed is the driving force

the kids have this bloody mary like ritual game they do and read a passage of that story which is the catalyst for all this teen related crimes.

cop lady is trying to get ahold of the book this passage is in but can't get it for a few days as it's a historic relic on display being a really old copy of brothers grimm fairytales.

copy lady knows of the book because she had that same teacher in hs and he took them to a archive and she saw the book then.

supernatural stuff aside they book has very interesting tidbits about chicagos history sprinkled throughout. like statueand their inscriptions or various writers being from or living in Chicago. at one point cop lady is even like hmm I wonder is this is the path that inspired the yellow brick road.

anywho another incident happens this time with 4 teens a two are caught bloodied and with a weapon.

some spooky interviews ensue. the kids reference things they shouldn't know about they say thing like pay the piper. but they re teens so they are send to juvie.

oh there's a scene of cop lady emptying her clip into a hallucination in her house !?!?!

its revealed that cop lady did the ritual in her youth and that's why her sis is dead

then the story ramps up the reliance on the fairytale tropes. cop ladys dad remarried after the og wife disappeared and the sis was the new wife's and was all like you don't have a mom.

the story then basically make the pied piper from a man into a version of triskster god pan for some reason.

the piper gets rid of someone for you but then comes back and asks you to kill as payment or he will kill you??

there are a lot os instances of her ignoring protocol by getting info out of her peers or connections.

I'm pretty sure the cop lady killing people in duty was a part of her payment???

So, I've been looking for this fic for a while. I remember is A/B/O, Derek is at uni, and Stiles is still at HS, and they have sort of a summer romance, and Stiles ends up preganant. Laura and Cora are alive, but the rest of the Hales are dead, Werewolves are known, and Scott is one and Laura wanted him in their pack. Stiles and Derek first enconter on their summer romance is in a bonfire party where they have sex in the preserve agianst a tree. Stiles had just finished a heat.

You know what your interpretation of Modern Grimm reminds me of somewhat?

My old dance teacher

Let me elaborate, she was if not the best dance instructor I ever had. But she was also the one you absolutely could not get on her bad side. I had her for all four years of HS and I loved her but was also very terrified of her. She was really cheery all the time but the minute something went wrong or someone missed a step she would absolutely verbally obliterate them without even raising her voice. Her entire demeanor would change on a dime.

You could not talk back to her because then she’d slam you down in one sentence.

Rehearsal week was even worse because her patience ran as thin as paper. I’ve watched her run towards the stage in 8 inch platform heels because a couple freshmen wanted to talk shit while performing.

She was eccentric and always wore the most out of pocket shit, and if you were one of her favorites (I can brag and say I was) she’d always be really nice to you (until you don’t follow her directions to a t) and her recitals were always the best out of the entire district, not to mention the most decorated Ballroom team when it came to competitions.

So when you described your version of Grimm my immediate thoughts were “Oh stars Miss Caty would love him or absolutely hate him” hdjdjsjjs

bjfksdnds Miss Caty sounds like a riot to be around. What an experience.

But yeah Grimm is like that. Don't get me wrong, he loves and cares for his troupe, they're his family and lifeline! but when they're on the clock, the show comes first. Get into your blocks, don't forget your cues, and ffs don't talk and have your safety precautions in check.

You give a quip and he returns that energy and then some to shut it down. You're misbehaving and he calls it out.

He's not above stopping the entire practice if smth is out of line. Esp if it's a circus show, acrobatics can really hurt you. You got to take it seriously and have your safety precautions double checked and ready. He's a patient man but he's not tolerant of certain things.

Should some one really try to be an ass he doesn't have a total demeanor change right away. It's usually not warranted. He's quick to cut em off and chew em out in five seconds but it's not deserving of his full effort or attention. He can still be focused on the main stage while he tells someone to the side to not miss their cue again.

Demeanor changes really only comes out if someone is actively and deliberately being a pain for whatever reason. He comes closer and he gets quiet and quiet people are the most intimidating. He's not trying to publicly shame anyone but you will be talked to right then and there. And if youre harassing other crew? He's still quiet but it's scary as hell. Quiet anger is restrained anger and it's not being restrained for your benefit. The nightmare eyes look will scare you into behaving or leaving altogether.

I think they'd get along. Swap performance stories, the fav shows theyve put on, the disasters backstage. The best and worst type of crew. How they've gotten their crew to behave, im sure they'll have a laugh over the dumb people theyve put into place.

RWBY V8: Episode 10 Ultimatum

My reaction below: 

Oh my a warning! 

Ironwood is looking ominous, ships are flying, great shot composition. 

Terrified Specialists reporting, Jac is still alive, Robyn & Qrow have escaped, Ironwood is pissed, dang watching Qrow tackle someone as a bird was both hilarious and oddly intense, cool stealth take down. 

His soldiers are clearly terrified & he’s zeroed in on Qrow, dang, what does Robyn gotta do to get on the watch list Ironwood XD 

Interesting use of the building tension then sudden stop and WHAT THE FLYING FUCK OSCAR!? 

He blew the fucking whale up!? And all the other Grimm?! Can Ozpin usually do this!? 

Also Vine trying to comfort Elm but being rejected, Marrow is very upset, seriously what just happened!? 

Yeesh Ironwood, no rest for the wicked huh? 

Huh, there’s still some of Monstra left, and wow, Watts sounds nervous. 

Watching Cinder & Watts back and forth is quite fun, its rare either deals with someone that feels they are on an even laying field with the other, but Cinder obviously hates it & Watts clearly thinks little of her. Interesting stuff with the virus and context. 

Wow that was an epic speech and lead up Cinder, seriously, very cool, and then just like with Ironwood, she gets the wind sucked out of her sails. 

Wow, this is legit a pretty epic rant, like total bastard, but also not bereft of points, this has clearly been building up for awhile. 

...

Holy shit, Cinder’s crying. 

Also Watt’s brain finally caught up with his mouth it seems. 

Dang no teary “I thought you were dead reunion” for the bees >< 

Wow, those Scrolls/Weiss are good. 

Also oof, Emerald, also Oscar is not having a good day, nor is Emerald again, yeesh, I mean I get it, but still, girl needs a hug. 

Ooh neat divide there in the groups, and eeey they brought up Ozpin, though dang it Oscar, don’t make up lies for him! 

Nice subtle shift in the situation, and oof, that crowd scene hits heavy. 

Ironwood looking frantic! 

Oh, OK, so he plans to torture the kids. Classy Ironwood, classy, Oscar was right you & Salem have a lot in common. 

Oh wow so that did come back up, hah, oh dear,, ooooh dear. 

Well he’s still got some arms, I’ll give him that, also a temper, such a ‘rational’ man Ironwood is (Rolls eyes) 

OK, Ironwood is clearly becoming unhinged, I suppose several days of no sleep will exacerbate pre-existing issues, and unlike the other characters he has no one who will call him on his shit, Atlas you are so fuuuuckeeeeed. 

Holy shit Neo stol the Lamp to use as leverage against Cinder!

What the fuck Ironwood, this is terrifying! 

Ironwood really has long since fallen down the hole of “The more morally fucked up my actions are the more rational and pragmatic I am.” 

Heeey Nora’s back up, and Penny’s still out and the evacuation hs been brought low, wow, that brief moment of calm was appreciated but damn, this sting so good, and also reminds me that, oh yeah, Ironwood was described as the primary villain of this volume, so, haha, oh my.
