omg it's you! You're the inspiration for my own Hallowed Rainforest AU which I love very dearly. I honestly didn't expect the comic to continue, but this is an absolute treat!

So I've come to say thank you for bringing this crossover to life, which sparked my own creativity that I've enjoyed for over a year now. Hopefully my own AU doesn't step on your AU's toes too much. Like I said earlier, you're an inspiration to me!

A small bit of a scene from my Hallowed Rainforest AU, which basically mashes together Rain World, Hollow Knight and Ori and the Blind Forest into one seamless world. The trio of protagonists had a bit of a rough introduction initially. (Before this scene Survivor threw a rock at the Knight and grabbed their nail. The Knight tries to take it back while Survivor is distracted) 

Ori’s got no problem with these two, he just doesn’t want them to fight.

To those of you following my Hallowed Rainforest AU, I’d like you to meet Pale Pebbles, the king of the Hallowed Rainforest.

As you might have guessed, his character is a combination of PK from HK and 5p from RW. Although our protagonists never canonically meet him while he’s alive, he still plays an important role in the AU’s story.

Pale Pebbles is a higher being who initially arrived at the rainforest with his can from the eastern sea, alongside his sister Looks to the Rain (whom I will talk about another time.) This was back when the rainforest was still under the rule of the Radiant Light (not to be confused with the Spirit Tree).

After his arrival he worked in collaboration with the Spirit Tree to banish the Radiant Light and build a kingdom out of the rainforest, which he dubbed the Hallowed Rainforest. The inhabitants of the Rainforest were already living in a somewhat primitive society, but Pale Pebbles invented college granted them more complex, higher thought and society once he began to establish his kingdom.

As his kingdom grew, Pale Pebbles began experimenting with the void which came from the void sea deep below the Rainforest, in order to find a way for his people to escape the cycles. He created void constructs, such as the Kingsmoulds, and hunter-variants: more powerful, void-infused versions of existing creatures.

Of course, as we all know, eventually the infection began to threaten the kingdom, which causes Pale Pebbles to panic and make several poor choices, like throwing babies into the void sea and ignoring his sister. I’ll save the details of The Hollow Knight for another time.

The can is not pictured here, but think of it as PK’s giant wyrm corpse but mechanical. A giant, mobile mecha-wyrm super computer. Pale Pebbles has a palace, but the can is where he does most of his work, so he keeps it around and maintains it during his reign. His puppet (as seen above) can detach itself and travel outside the can, usually to make public appearances or visit the Spirit Tree.

Also, yeah he’s still married to a tree in this AU. But he didn’t have babies with the tree cause he’s a robot! Not biological babies anyway.

This is Looks to the Rain, also known as Big Sister Rain, and the Hallowed Rainforest’s other resident iterator. Her character is a combination of Looks to the Moon and Godseeker (admittedly a bit of a stranger combination than PK + 5p but it’ll make sense in a bit.) She serves the role of a guide to our protagonists.

Like her brother Pale Pebbles, LTTR is a higher being who arrived at the rainforest with her can back when the Old Light (not to be confused with the Spirit Tree) was in rule.

When her brother took center stage as the Hallowed Rainforest’s king, she aided in building and strengthening the kingdom, but stayed detached from Pale Pebbles’ political business. Although her influence never surpassed that of her brother’s, Looks to the Rain soon became revered as a prophet and almost universally beloved by the citizens of the Rainforest. Her can was open to visitation, unlike Pale Pebbles’ can, and she possessed the same future-sight technology.

Problems began to arise around the time Pale Pebbles looked to the void to solve the infection problem. When the vessel project started, Pale Pebbles first looked to the children of the Spirit Tree to create something suitably hollow. He sent nearly all spirits to their demise in the void, but was met with no success. Unfortunately he was too busy working on the vessels modeled after his own genetic makeup to foresee the collateral damage he was about to cause.

The countless spirits dumped into the void caused a reaction that agitated the void sea, and elsewhere it began to wear away at LTTR’s can. LTTR, being unaware of the vessel project, could not figure out the cause of the void activity breaking down her can nor stop it. So she turned to the greatest void expert she knew: her brother. Yet her brother seemed to ignore all attempts of her contacting him. 

Eventually when her can reached critical conditions she forcefully contacted Pale Pebbles and demanded to know what was going on. Her brother reacted very poorly to this forced communication and admitted to what he’d done as part of the vessel project. LTTR was appalled when she got the news, but she didn’t have much time to yell at Pale Pebbles before her can collapsed and went into emergency shutdown, and she along with it. Without the can functioning, the iterator puppet cannot function either.

Looks to the Rain stayed incapacitated for a long time, and by the time she woke up again her brother had disappeared. The Hunter slugcat brought a device to her known as an overseer, which doubled as a method of rebooting her can and allowing her to remotely survey the Rainforest. This overseer came to be known as Siggy.

Siggy is a combination of Sein and the yellow overseer. It serves first as a silent, visual guide to our protagonists and then a verbal guide once they receive the Mark of Communication.

As I said earlier, I would get to the Godseeker part of LTTR. Looks to the Rain provides the boss rush mode were the AU a game. Rather than fighting gods in her dreams, LTTR provides simulated battles to our protagonists based on data and essence collected from particularly strong adversaries in the Rainforest (LTTR’s can still functions well enough to create simulations.) Her intention is to help train them for the journey ahead of them.

Also LTTR doesn’t retain like any of Godseeker’s mannerisms, so she doesn’t call the protags cringe dw.

Oh, I'd love to, believe me. But unfortunately I am no coding genius so I can't make it a reality.

My writing partner and I do approach the AU as though it were a game though, and your suggestion is basically how we thought it would work. It'd also support local co-op in that way!
