the bloomic server is his pride and joy
he literally takes so much pride in being a mod
his coworkers kinda avoid him bc they have heard one too many calls

FFXIV WoL Bingo
Can't believe I managed a bingo on this. Read on below for an explanation of each tile, but beware! LOTS of MSQ spoilers! Enjoy :D
Tumblr media
1. Draw/mod/imagine with traits not available in the game: I've always pictured her hair to be longer and a bit more wild/carefree than it is in game. I haven't found a way to portray it yet though.
2. Works/has skills in tradecrafts: Selryna knits/crochets (weaver) when she has time. She's also a fairly good cook!
3. Academically Smart: was raised in Sharlayan and studied under the Sages there. Also studied as a Scholar and does in fact know how clouds are formed thank you very much.
4. Trust issues: I wouldn't say trust issues exactly, more like is slow to trust. She doesn't just trust people blindly. It has to be earned.
5. Well Dressed: I mean... look at her!
6. Found Familly: She's twins with G'raha Tia. It was more of a reunion than finding each other for the first time.
7. Near death experience: In From the Cold quest and the end of Endwalker. Need I say more?
8. Has scars: Selryna got light scarred from almost becoming a Lightwarden in ShB. The marks are on her arms and hands and glow occasionally. She now also has a few small ones and a large one spreading from her hip to below her chest from Zenos.
8. Significant others: Haurchefant, briefly before his passing. Urianger now and still going strong. She tried to start a romance with Thancred waaaaaay back in ARR but found him with another woman when she was going to confess her feelings to him.
9. Is capable of fighting/defending themselves: Hello, meet the Warrior of Light. She trained under many masters and was a sellsword/combat medic for hire before ARR
10. Amnesia/Severe Trauma: no amnesia here, but she has experienced enough traumatic events to suffer from night terrors quite often.

These are the doll things I got from barbiesgaybestfriend on IG (and it only occurred to me while editing the photos that I could have recorded the box opening--but I hadn’t expected the surprise dolls at all, so I didn’t...uh...expect anything unexpected.  I’ve been awake since 5am. I’m kinda tired.)
He said he did the face ups on the Sparkle Girls and Draculaura dolls (which were some of the surprises)
The Hamilton Design Candi was one of the dolls I expected, because...wow.  I have to wonder how an obscure collector doll like that ends up in the hands of someone who cuts off all the hair, glues on replacement hair (which barbiesgaybestfriend removed because apparently it was...unpleasant) and sews into...that.  The inset in the corner is the hangtag that was on the doll, with a picture on the other side of similarly crafted Barbies.  I have nearly freed the doll from the dress--the stitches on the back of the crochet ruffle part are really hard to find, and I definitely want to snip only the stitches so I can put it back together into a usable piece of doll clothing.  There’s also more than enough fabric in the skirt to use to sew other things, and all the trim will be removed and stashed (including the bit of polyester batting stuffed up inside the stiff interfacing ‘slip’)
And the heads!  Especially that Miss America and the Mod Ken and the Over The Moon character!
Big Thanks to BarbiesGayBestFriend ^_^

RFA + V as Senior Citizens
requested: by anonymous
a/n: this is?? a super cute ask?? totally seems like the sequel to an old MC lmao
warnings: n/a
-young mod alex
Tumblr media
Jumin
-distinguished gentleman through and through
-he’s the type of man that ages gracefully, i hc him to look kind of like eugenes dad (for anyone who watches the try guys)
-he’s faithful to his spouse until the day he dies, and provides the best care for his children, especially supporting them no matter what their passions are
-even though physically the age still has taken a toll on him, the crows feet and laugh lines only prove that he’s led a good life
-he doesn’t believe in “old people activities”
-would rather die than play bingo, he does however enjoy the odd game of mahjong, and even the occasional board game, but only when he’s playing with his kids (however he’s ruthless and doesn’t go easy on them)
-he teaches the kids how to play chess
-his sense of fashion never changes, always sporting a crisp suit and his classic striped dress shirt
-he starts collecting italian shoes as a hobby once he reaches 60, and he’s never been so proud of a collection
-resigns as CEO and passes on the company not to his children, but to the most qualified prospect, changing his ideas on nepotism, now wholeheartedly believing in hard work and working your way up
-you can see the change in him post marrying you, as more and more magazines claim he’s gone “soft” in his old age, but in reality he doesn’t fear the public eye and although sometimes he struggles with emotional blocks, with you by his side he can handle anything
Jaehee
-she’s the anime grandma that chases the troublemakin’ young’uns out of her shop with a broom
-very wholesome old lady, she never gives up her cafe, and although Jumin offers to help her expand her business, she refuses, insisting that she wants it to be family owned
-she teaches your guys’ kids and grandkids how to bake, and at first she seems like she has no patience, trying to discipline them, but you catch her smiling at your first grandchild, a 3 year old boy who's hands are covered with flour as he claps vigorously, childish wonder as flour poofs in a magical cloud
-she always continues to love and support zens work and shows, but her interests start to move on once she reaches her late forties
-she had to stop drinking coffee because her blood pressure got dangerously high, so she moves on to drinking tea
-having a little garden in your backyard where the two of you grow different flowers and herbs to make and experiment with new tea leaves
-she’s sweet, but also retains her businesslike formality and becomes a respected member of the World for Women Entrepreneurs Organization, which she puts down as the first members of the RFA party every year
-cute old lesbian couple, going to every pride parade together and holding hands on the street because, even though she may have aged, her judo skills haven't
Yoosung
-sweet old man, the kind that will be there for every single family reunion, holiday, birthday and will spoil the kids rotten
-he buys a rocking chair to put on the porch, first ironically but he’s quick to change his mind, buying another one in order for the two of you to sit outside together, watching from the porch as your kids play in the yard
-he never loses his passion for cooking, and all the neighborhood kids, even if they aren't your own, line up for Grandpa Kims cooking
-the two of you essentially adopt the whole street of kids
-he stops dying his hair blonde, letting the brown grow back in
-he loves telling the story of how the two of you met, to the point where your kids will groan whenever he starts talking
-never really stops playing video games, and of course teaches all your guys’ kids how to play, however he gets extremely disappointed when your youngest chooses books over games (in a joking way)
-he’s the kind elder that might never really have “wisdom” but he’ll always make you feel better if you have a problem
-by the time the two of you reach 70, your house has become a place for stray animals and kids, not wanting anyone to feel the loneliness that he had when he was younger
Seven
-he never really gets past his trauma, although living with it becomes easier
-saeyoung never loses his childish sense of humor and happiness, making his the strangest elder on the block
-he’s the one all the kids want to have ice cream with
-he retires fairly early compared to the rest, saying that he needed time to focus on his family and on his life for once
-he ages well, but makes the biggest deal out of it when his hairline starts receding
-because of stress, his hair starts greying early, and he refuses to leave the bunker for a week straight, you having to coax his dramatic ass out by hiding all the HBC
-has crippling back pain and has to start using a cane by his mid forties. of course, everyone in the rya makes fun of him for it, but he just waves it threateningly at yoosung, laughing along
-takes daily walks with you to the park, over the lake and bridge, around the cherry blossom tree and back home
-he strives to be there for his children and grandchildren, loving and supporting them in a way his parents never did
-continues to play pranks and crack jokes throughout his life
-every wedding anniversary he decorates the bunker like a space station and you dance to every frank sinatra song ever recorded
-on your 60th wedding anniversary you take him to KARI (Korean Aerospace Research Institute) to look around, inspect the models, check calculations and try the zero gravity machine, and he cries
Zen
-does this man age? not necessarily
-he never stops acting, continuing to rise as televisions most popular actor, but in the end he moves back to theatre, where his passion truly lies
-you quit as his manager at some point to go follow your dreams, and he lets you know that he’s with you every step of the way no matter what
-he doesn’t become more humble as he ages, and can often be seen telling his kids about his amazing adventures from when he was younger
-his laugh lines do get incredibly deep, which he struggles with for a while until you finally step up and tell him that all it means is that he lived well, that he had a good time on this godforsaken planet and that he had a few good laughs
-the energy is broken when you poke your finger in his laugh line, giggling to yourself
-he loosens up on the strict diet, letting himself eat more sweets and fatty foods, but his stance on exercising stays the same
-the storyteller of the family, always calling the grandkids out to the backyard to tell them incredible stories of monsters and knights in shining armor and the beautiful princess
-domesticity out the roof
-doesn’t actually officially retire, but leaves the industry while he’s ahead, getting to enjoy his last few decades surrounded by a family he chose to make
-surprisingly he takes up crochet, likes the meticulous design and patience needed for it, even though he has none, its a good way to teach himself to be more patient
-refuses a cane and or walker his whole life and would “never be caught dead in one”
-at some point he lets his hair grow out all the way, not leaving the rat tail, rather just having long hair
-because of his good genes and extreme self care, he doesn’t lose much of his hair, to which he is grateful to. those wrinkles though....
V
- V, starts losing his sight because of age: ah shit here we go again
-he’s kind, the type of senior that will always help someone out, and picks up trash off of the ground
-volunteers at the local garden, helping with the sunflowers in particular
-never stops painting, insisting that he must paint you and any possible children at every stage of yours and their lives
-the trauma of Rikas abuse left him scarred, but he copes with it, going to therapy until the day he eventually dies
-cute old married couple number two, its impossible to go anywhere without hearing “V and his spouse,” the two of you are a package deal, his life would never have been the same without you, and you would never want to be anywhere else except besides him
-as similar of age as you guys may be to the RFA, the two of you absolutely adopt them, and as all your families expand, V makes it his mission to invite everyone Jumin and his spouse, Jaehee with hers etc etc and their respective children and children spouses,, grandchildren,,,
-he doesn’t talk about his past much, but is always willing to listen to the younguns problems and impart his knowledge
-the older he gets, the more sweaters he owns. is also partial to wearing suspenders over said sweaters
-he begins to fall in love with the environment the older he gets, ultimately starting multiple foundations to save the bees, oceans and various endangered species
-becomes a UN ambassador for a good few years, but resigns due to wanting to get back to his family and passions
-after marrying you he becomes quite content with his life, and he doesnt majorly change in any way

Claude Faustus Relationship Headcanons
Tumblr media
Claude Faustus is one hell of an ass.
Claude Faustus is not a nice demon, and he’s never going to be nice. If it is advantageous for him to have multiple contracts, he will. If you annoy him too much, he will kill you. In conclusion, he does contracts purely to provide himself food.
If he manages to catch a “feelings bug” he’s going to ignore it for as long as possible. Having a mate is just a weakness he’d rather not have. But you should be proud of yourself, his attention is a difficult thing to gain in the first place.
The change between regular Claude and loving Claude is incredibly subtle, only someone who’s really payed attention to him is going to notice.
He will start to pay a bit more attention to your food and drink preferences. Perhaps you like 3 sugar cubes in your tea more than two, he’s noticed and will bother himself with making sure you get three.
While dressing his master in the morning he may find himself staring at their body longer than normal, or deliberately slowing his hands when brushing their skin.
He’s bound to start crocheting more. His master may find his secret stashes of webs if they look hard enough.
Claude will also become a bit more possessive of their time. If his masters have other servants, they are not going to see them as often. Only Claude.
Also there are spiders everywhere all the sudden.
Unlike his attitude with Ciel Phantomhive, these behaviors aren’t just a ravenous hunger, they are more controlled. After tasting Ciel he loses the strict control he has on his conduct and goes into a frenzy. While with a master he cares about more than his other contracts, he’s going to keep very strict control of himself around them. He won’t let himself admit he cares even sightly, and he’s not willingly about to let you see that.
If this master was ever in danger, he will save them. He may not be quite ready to lay down his life, just yet, but he will go so far as to get injured if he deems it necessary. This is asking a lot of him. Now, this may be because he’s in love or just really freaking possessive of the food he feels is worth the effort.
Claude Faustus, the trash demon that no one asked for! He’s still my favorite though ლ(¯ロ¯"ლ). When I look him up on Tumblr I don’t always find stuff for him, so here is my contribution to the trash demon! Also, if anyone where to want more.... you know who to ask...  ( ´ ▽ ` ).。o♡   - Mod Trash

How about something really sweet with the UF and SF bros? What if on their wedding day with their SO, the only family member their SO had was their elderly grandma who showed the skellies nothing but kindness and was already treating them as family? And then later during the wedding party when the grandma asks if the skelly liked the dress SO was wearing and when they said yes the grandma smiled and said "I'm glad my sleepless nights of making it didn't go to waste~" how would they respond? 0w0

Red: At first, he hadn't really noticed that you didn't have anyone but your grandma come to the wedding, but that was mostly because he was so focused on you, and he was excited that he was actually getting married to you, finally! It was when he looked around at how small the crowd was, and saw your Grandma sitting right up front, that he realized that she was the only family member that had showed up, although his heart warmed a little when she waved at him and gave him a thumbs up. He liked her, she was a sweet ol' lady.  After the vows were said, and everyone was mingling, he made sure to go and talk to her, to make sure that he showed her the respect she deserved.  When she told him that she had spent many sleepless nights making that dress for you, he couldn't help but get a little choked up, as he looked at you, and how beautiful you were in that dress.  He asked her if she really made it, to which she giggled and told him 'of course!'. He was very moved, and talked to her until the next song came on, to which he asked her if she'd like a dance with him.  Flashing his famous toothy grin, and wiggling his eyebrows had her laughing and blushing like a young lady, but she accepted, and you watched the two of them lovingly as they danced across the floor.  This was only one of the ways your new Husband thanked your Grandmother for making the day the two of you shared very special.
Papyrus
Edge: As usual, Edge had wanted to take you to a bridal shop and spoil you on whatever you wanted.  You only bought one thing, and that was a tie for him that matched the color of the dress your Grandmother was making for you. You had told her the color you wanted, and she set to work. He was a little put off, and you told him that he just had to wait, because once he saw it, he would love it. He doubted it.  When the day came, you didn't see each other until the ceremony, but as he walked up the aisle, his eyes grew wide as he starred at you, in your dress. It had many floral patterns stitched into it, and it was your favorite color, which matched the bouquet you were holding, the flower chest-pin he was wearing, and the tie you had bought for him.  By the time he was standing across from you, his cheeks were alight with a bright red blush, as he looked at you, from your eyes, to the dress, and back to your eyes. "You're beautiful.." He whispered, making you blush and smile, before you both said your vows.  Afterward, you took him to see your Grandmother, which he insisted he had to see right away, and he had picked one of the flowers from the wedding tables bouquet - a rose - and had bent down on one knee while extending his hand out with the rose in it.  "I would like to thank you from the deepest wells of my Soul, M'lady, for you have not only made our Wedding day absolutely amazing, but you have made my bride look stunning in her dress, which.." he paused, searching for the words. "I did not think such a beautiful dress could be made by hand, that only a machine could make something so stunning, but you, sweet lady, have made a dress that people only dream of having..  I sincerely thank you for everything you have done."  You were moved to tears at how sweet he was being, and even more so when your Grandma told the both of you that she had spent many sleepless nights working on the dress, and was happy she finished it in time for you.

Sans
Razz: Although Razz wasn't too fond of humans - he found them to be annoying and bothersome - he really liked your Grandma. They had spent time cooking together, she taught him how to knit and crochet, and she was even teaching him how to drive.  They always had a blast together and he brought out her wild, younger side.  So today, on your marriage day, he was very happy to see her in the front row, waving excitedly to him as he waited for you to walk down the aisle.  When you finally did walk down the aisle, and stood in front of him, his eyelights were blown wide, as he stared at your beauty.  Where on earth would you have gotten such a beautiful dress...? After vows were said, and the two of you had a few minutes to yourselves, he couldn't help but run his fingers against your sides and belly, feeling the different patterns sewn in there. He was about to say something about it, when he was interrupted.  "I see you like the dress!" your Grandma said, causing you both you flinch.  You smiled, and Razz turned around to look at her. "Did.. Did you make this...?" He asked, and she laughed a little. "Yes. It took me quite a few days, and many sleepless nights.  I'm glad that you like it~" she said, making your new husband go blue in the face.  "Like it..? I LOVE it! It's beautiful!  ...Not as beautiful as your Grand daughter but..." He said with a sly grin as he looked at you, and gave a loving tug on the collar he had made you wear since the first day you started dating.
Papyrus
Pup: He was so nervous about being in a crowded room, but knew you were already inside, and was outside having a smoke, when your Grandma pulled up.  She told him off to smoking, to which he apologized for, and then he offered her his arm to help her inside, and to the front row. The two of them were friends, in their own way, which was good.  As you walked up the aisle and stepped in front of your groom, you could tell he was nervous, as he was visibly shaking, but his face was bright orange with a blush. Cute.  You took his hand in your own, hoping to help calm him down, and it did a little, although his eyes kept roaming over your body. "S-so.. Be-beautiful..." He stammered in a whisper, smiling and making the light glint off his golden canines, his grip tightening on your hand. After you both shared your words of love and vows to each other, you shared a loving kiss -- which probably lasted a little longer than it should have -- and everyone clapped and cheered for you, and ever sent a few catcalls when your new Husband tried to deepen your kiss, and you finally had to break away and whisper a sharp 'not here!' to him, getting a tiny 'oops..!' from him in return.  When it was time to mingle a little with your guests, you took the chance to dab the sweat away from your lover's brow, as he had started to sweat nervously, when your Grandma showed up behind you, startling both of you with a little 'boo!'.  You told her off (in a playful way) that she was as bad as Pup for showing up out of nowhere like that, like a teleport, and scaring the pants off you.  She ignored you, watching your groom as he fumbled and fidgeted with your dress. She asked him if he liked it, to which he stammered a quick 'Yes ma'am!' followed by a slower, quieter 'I love it and think it is absolutely beautiful... a stunning treasure to never let go of.'  To which she smiled and laughed a little, making Pup blush more. "I'm glad you think that..  It makes all the sleepless nights I spent making it that much more worth it." she said, and once it registered that she hadn't been sleeping, or probably eating or anything, both you and your husband had tears in your eyes, ready to slip down your cheeks.  You didn't even have to mention it to each other, Grandma was coming over to your house, and you guys were going to treat her like a queen for at least a week.

[image description: two photos, the first taken on a red watermelon slice pillow sitting on a blue, white and black night sky quilt cover, the second taken just on the quilt, of a wide variety of stim toys. Each toy is described and discussed underneath the read more cut below.]
Anon asked,
What are your favorite stim toys and why?
I’ve made this a photo post, anon, as I dislike how Tumblr compresses images when you insert them into an ask or text post.
I’ll work my way through everything photographed above, top to bottom, left to right. Note that I am mostly into fidget toys, that chronic hand pain does impact what I can use, and that I prefer toys that offer texture in addition to movement. This isn’t a general stim kit, just things that I like using, and everyone’s stim needs will differ depending on their health, situation and sensory likes/aversions.
This is a very long post even by my standards. I’ve given a description of each item as I discuss it, so I’m going to place everything under a read more cut:
Orange-red prickle/massage/sports ball: the textured ball is great as a distraction from my pain, as it gives a rough, harsh, pressing sensation without causing damage to my hands. I’d recommend this for folks who seek out pain sensations, as it’s as close as I’ve gotten to finding it in a non-harming toy.
Orange/aqua/pink/yellow/red fleuro mesh stress ball: it’s filled with plastic pellets, so it has weight and crunch, while the mesh offers a much more interesting texture than that of a conventional stress ball. Great for tossing.
Hama bead loop: a loop of hat elastic threaded with fifty-four different coloured perler or Hama beads. It’s like a lightweight Tangle you can twist and coil, with the rougher sensory input of the spaces between the beads catching your skin. Another good toy for people who like harsher or pain sensations without wanting to cause damage, as long as you don’t twist it too tightly around a finger or wrist.
Disney Tsum Tsum Elsa: a small, easily portable plush with lots of textures (plush-like hair, blue dress, cape, suede belly, her embroidered face) and a pocket of pellets in her belly for crunching and squishing.
DIY chain fidget: an oversized chain fidget made using 50 cm clip rings and strips of black felt sewn into chain-like pieces and stiffened using glitter glue. The large size makes it so much easier for me to use than the the standard 30 cm split ring fidgets. I hope I’ll have the time to do a proper tutorial on these one day - they’re a bit involved to make, but they work so well. Great for just idly flipping back and forth in one or two hands.
DIY marble maze: a marble maze made from aqua owl-print flannelette, pink minky fleece backing and purple chain stitching. These are so soft to touch and not too difficult to handsew, and they give the lovely tactile stim of the different fabrics combined with pushing a marble through the maze formed by the stitching. Harder to use in public than a Tangle, but a staple for many stim kits.
Bright pink stretchy squish ball: one of Stimtastic’s squish balls. It’s soft, mouldable, rollable, stretchy. Like playdough without the smell and with greater portability. It’s also a lot softer on my hands than putty or dough, which is fabulous. I truly love these. Third favourite toy, maybe?
Blue, yellow, green, orange and pink hedge balls: these are great for rolling, pulling and squishing. I love the texture and pressing the fronds into my skin, and the size means they’re easily portable.
Green and cream Slinky Tangle Glo: it’s an Original-sized Tangle that glows in the dark like nothing I’ve ever seen. So cool.
Red, purple, blue, green and yellow crocheted stress ball: a small stress ball stuffed with plastic pellets and crinkle paper for crunch and scrunch. As a fidget toy it has the weight and texture of the crocheted skin plus the sound of the paper crinkling. Not so good for public stimming, but amazing to fidget with.
Blue, green and purple Twiddle: it’s longer and looser than a Tangle, but it scrunches together nicely and is great for idle fidgeting. I mostly ball it in a hand and scrunch it, but it also works as a puzzle as well, if you prefer pulling it apart.
Wooden nut and bolt: this is a craft piece I found in Daiso, but it’s great for quiet fidgeting, and the grooves/rif provide great texture for stroking.
Yellow and rainbow tie-dye plastic tri-shaped spinners: I like spinners because they have the sound and vibration aspect - I seldom look at them while they spin. I just hold them and enjoy the feel of the movement. My fingers are long enough that I can hold one arm bearing between thumb and pointer finger and flip the spinner around, so there’s multiple ways I can fidget with these.
Chewigem Desert Rose Dog Tag pendant strung on a purple rattail cord: this is my favourite chewable so far because it’s thin and springy and not too wide. I love it’s smaller size. I want one not in pink.
Orange teardrop makeup blending sponge: these are such a great and inexpensive squishy alternative. They’re not slow-rising, but they’re soft, portable and great to touch and press.
White and pink Zuru Fidget Cube in blue Zuru Prism: I use this toy least often out of everything photographed, and I mostly stim with it by rolling the gears and ball on my face. It makes my pain flare more than anything else here, so I have to be careful with it, but I really do love the gears and roller ball.
Black Tangle Jr, worn rose-pink Tangle Jr Fuzzy, yellow/clear/pink/blue Tangle Jr Textured and translucent orange/translucent yellow/translucent purple/yellow Tangle Jr: Tangles are my favourite stim toy, easy. They’re easy to use, portable, colourful and good for unthinking stimming. I like that they offer texture or flocking in addition to movement, and they’re the type of toy that doesn’t draw too much attention in public, as an adult stimmer.
White and silver mermaid sequin pillow: this is my second favourite stim toy, easy! Lots of texture, the visual stimming of watching the sequins change colour and being so gentle on my hands all combine to make this absolutely amazing for me. The only downside is that’s not always a particularly good public stim toy, but that it never hurts me to swipe the sequins absolutely makes up for this.
Blue and cream Daiso embroidered hedgehog duster: there’s lots of these sorts of dusters and mop heads around (although most aren’t shaped like animals) and the chenille fronds are great for running one’s hand through.
Glass jar holding green kinetic sand: I’ve had to stop using kinetic sand for a while to see if it’s the reason for my dermatitis flares, but it is another silent, pain-free stim toy that’s great for occupying one’s hands while watching TV. Not very portable, unfortunately!
There’s more toys I like, and I’ll probably remember something else that should have made it to this list after it posts, but that’s most of them, anon!

Have you been looking for DIY projects to decorate your home on a budget? Well, do I have some easy projects for you to try!!
Tumblr media
These are those wonderful clipboards upcycled. You can paint 3/4 of the board with chalkboard paint, leaving a space on the bottom to add paint or washi tape. Or you can simply wrap with contact paper.
Tumblr media
You can dress up your table with tie-dyed Burlap.Buy enough light-colored burlap yardage from the fabrics store so it hangs 1-2 feet off the ends of your table. Cut it lengthwise so it’s several inches narrower than the width of your table. We used RIT fabric dye in fuschia to dye one-third of the runner at each end. To create a slight ombre effect, we repeated the dye bath on one-sixth of the runner on each end to darken the color. Finish the runner by fringing the edges, if desired.
Tumblr media
You can update a $1 store vase with acrylic paint.  Hold the vase in your hands and tip it in different directions so the paint rolls around inside, creating a wave of color. Leave some of the vase clear. You can make these tissue paper flowers, twist then wrap the end of the flower with some wire. Cover the wire heavily at the top, then thinly the rest with green floral tape.
Tumblr media
Use old t-shirts to update a plain pillow. You can also use jersey fabric. Either material is perfect for this project because they don’t unravel, so you won’t have to finish the edges. Cut fabric 1 to 1-1/2 inches wide. Use your fingers to scrunch the fabric into ruffles as you stitch down the middle with a sewing machine.

Prevent water rings and add a style all at the same time with DIY cork coasters. Cut 4×4-inch squares from thin cork. You can find the cork at your local craft store. Cut a simple herringbone pattern from stencil acetate. Press the stencil onto a cork square and apply acrylic paint.

Create a whimsical mobile with lace and embroidery hoops. Stretch lace fabric in wood embroidery hoops. Trim excess lace. For a clean-lined look, drill two holes on either side of the embroidery hoop fastener and screw the two pieces of the hoop together, then pry off the original hardware. Hang from white cording and position at alternating levels.

All you need to create this funky string art is string, nails, and a board. Map out your design and hammer the nails into the board (don’t pound the nails in completely). Wrap string around the nailheads for the design. If you’re spelling a word, print out the letters and cut them out. Arrange the letters on the board and hammer a nail into each corner of the letters. Wrap string around the outlines of the letters first, then fill in the letters with woven designs.

Outside I was playing with Garden Decor when I came up with these:
I love the light I made to hang in the Pergola https://kelleysdiy.com/2017/07/05/chandelier/. These Gazing Ball Stakes  https://kelleysdiy.com/2017/04/08/gazing-ball-stakes-3/
Some of the best Crafts I have done, I think, are the ones I made with paint sticks. I did this wonderful post about some of the wonderful projects you can make,  using paint sticks. You can find it here:  https://kelleysdiy.com/2016/10/18/paint-stick-crafts/
I started by making this Rug Rag. You can see tutorial here:  https://kelleysdiy.com/2017/02/01/rag-rug/ug/
Make labels from hardware store wood shims and institute order. They are so inexpensive! Cut a few shims to the desired size by either scoring with a crafts knife and snapping, or trimming with a rotary cutter. Sand each corner to round, and drill a hole in the middle of the thick end, about 1/2 inch from the edge. Use a small foam brush to paint the front and back of each tag with chalkboard paint. Let dry and write or stencil on labels with white charcoal pencil or chalk. Tie onto a bin or basket with a length of baker’s twine.

This is such a pretty idea for spring! Put your best foot forward with a unique flower vase. Arrange your flowers in a regular vase (make sure it will fit inside the boot first). Then simply tuck the vase inside the boot — the more colorful, the better!
Tumblr media
Rescue glass jars bound for the recycling bin for this upcycled project. Clean out the jars, poke a hole in the top of the lid, and screw a cabinet knob through the hole. We paired gold knobs with gold lids, but you can also paint the lids to match your hardware. Don’t you just love the metallic gold!
Tumblr media
This one is easy. Create shelves with panache using birch logs as supports. Trim sturdy branches to equal lengths, keeping the cuts straight. Paint two 24-inch-long 1×6 boards in the desired color. Attach one board to the bottom of the branches using wood screws, and attach the second board to the top of the branches, again, with wood screws. Hang the shelves using picture-hanging hooks driven into wall studs.
Tumblr media
Give a plain roller shade color and punch with a painted pattern. Using a ruler and T-square. Mask off straight stripes with blue painter’s tape. Apply latex paints in your desired colors using a foam roller. Let paint set, peel off the tape, and let the paint dry completely.
Tumblr media
Give a mod twist to a wrought-iron chandelier with a string of wooden balls. Select several different-size balls from the woodworking aisle at the crafts store. Screw small metal eye hooks into opposite ends of each ball. Link the eye hooks to chain the balls together, then drape from the chandelier. DIY Tip: Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to grasp and twist the tiny eye hooks.
Tumblr media
Put your touch on off-the-shelf furniture by transferring any favorite image — a photograph, a bit of a painting, or even a fabric pattern — to the plain surface. Scan the image into the computer and print it on transfer paper, which you can buy online and from office supply and crafts stores (about $20 for a package of ten 8×10-inch sheets). Follow the package instructions to transfer the image. These bentwood chairs have the perfect smooth surface for such a project.

For virtually no cost at all, you can mold an attractive centerpiece. Employ the simple technique of paper-mache, which involves dipping strips of paper into a solution of equal parts white glue and water. Turn over a mixing bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Tear strips of paper: book pages, magazines, sheet music, wrapping paper, or wallpaper will work. Here, the artistic look comes from copies of blueprints placed facedown with a layer of patterned scrapbook paper laid right side up. Apply at least three layers of paper to develop a sturdy vessel; let dry. Remove plastic wrap and bowl, and, if necessary, smooth any rough edges with fine-grit sandpaper.
Now, I am pretty sure all of you have seen this inexpensive idea.

Dress your windows quickly and smartly with tea towels turned into cafe curtains. Simply clip drapery rings to the top edges of the towels, and thread the rings onto a curtain rod. You’ll want the curtains to hang down to the windowsill, so mount the rod accordingly. If you have a double-hung window, position the rod so the top edge of the curtain lines up with the sash.
DIY Tip: If necessary, trim the towels to length and hem using a sewing machine — or iron on fusible webbing for a no-sew option.
Tumblr media
Create a chic, mid century pendant fixture using just string and a balloon. Purchase a 35-inch balloon from a party goods store, or if you can find it at the Dollar Tree, and blow it up to about 30 inches. Brush it with a thick coat of fabric stiffener, which you can find at fabrics and crafts stores. Wrap the balloon with white crochet string, brushing on more stiffener as you work to ensure a thick coating. Let dry for 24 hours, then pop the balloon.
DIY Steps: Illuminate the shade using an inexpensive light kit for hanging lanterns. First, tie a knot in the cord about 7 inches from the bulb. Thread the plug end through a slit in the center of a plastic butter-tub lid. Using kitchen shears, cut a hole in the top of the globe slightly smaller in diameter than the butter-tub lid. Insert the bulb and lid in the globe. Hang the cord from a hook in the ceiling. Use a low-watt light bulb.

For this project you can get together all your old serving plates, etc and create a beautiful reflective wall. Dollar Tree, you can pick up beautiful serving plates and dishes in a bright silver that look expensive, but only $1.
So, did I get your creative juices flowing? Most of these are so inexpensive to make, and a lot of the items can be found at your Dollar Tree Store.
