you can also tie hannibal's love for his creation as a part of his love for defying god.. since werewolfism breaks several laws of nature and standards of species organization etc etc im pretty certain theyre seen in the same demonic status as vampires & other creatures are

in theory werewolves are experiencing extinction and since theyre such sinful creatures that are fundamentally Wrong and Against God the best course of action would be to simply let them die. God probably would want people to let them die. but hannibal doesnt obey god. why would he?

theres this quote from dracula where van helsing tells john seward that "while he takes care of his crazy people, God also has to take care of His". hes referring to vampires here but you can definitely also include werewolves
