The Douai Martyrs is a name applied by the Catholic Church to 158 Catholic priests trained in the English College at Douai, France, who were executed by the English state between 1577 and 1680.[2]
History
Having completed their training at Douai, many returned to England and Wales with the intent to minister to the Catholic population. Under the Jesuits, etc. Act 1584 the presence of a priest within the realm was considered high treason. Missionaries from Douai were looked upon as a papal agents intent on overthrowing the queen. Many were arrested under charges of treason and conspiracy, resulting in torture and execution. In total, 158 members of Douai College were martyred between the years 1577 and 1680.[1] The first was Cuthbert Mayne, executed at Launceston, Cornwall on the 29 November 1577. [3] The last was Thomas Thwing, hanged, drawn, and quartered at York in October 1680.[4] Each time the news of another execution reached the College, a Solemn Mass of thanksgiving was sung.
Many people risked their lives during this period by assisting them, which was also prohibited under the Act. A number of the "seminary priests" from Douai were executed at a three-sided gallows at Tyburn near the present-day Marble Arch. A plaque to the "Catholic martyrs" executed at Tyburn in the period 1535 - 1681 is located at 8 Hyde Park Place, the site of Tyburn convent.[5]
They were beatified between 1886, 1929 and 1987, and only 20 were canonized in 1970. Today, British Catholic dioceses celebrate their feast day on 29 October.[1]

“‘Pen’ For Three Men, One Will Get Strap,” Toronto Star. May 16, 1932. Page 2. ---- Tromanes [PICTURED] Gets 5 Years, 10 Strokes and Shaw and Lebac 3 Years ---- Benard Tromanes will serve five years in Kingston penitentiary and will receive ten straps, as punishment for conspiracy and attempt to rob Harrison’s butcher shop, 710 Queen St. W., a week ago.
Frank Shaw, who was with him, and conspired in the attempt, was sentenced to three years in Kingston.
James Lebac, clerk in the store, who assisted in the plans and then ‘got cold feet,’ also was sentenced to three years.
‘You are just as guilty as the others,’ Magistrate Browne told Lebac. ‘You told the other two men how the robbery could be done.’
Wets of the Week-End Twenty-one men were charged with being drunk. Alex Barr was given three months; Mike Reilly, $20 or 20 days; Thos. Griffin $50 or one month; Frank Scholes, $50, or one month; Frank Scholes, $50, or one month. The others received minor penalties.
For sleeping in a box car, and having no visible means of support, Andrew Duncan, from Scotland was given 30 days. He will be deported.
Harry Hannan and Morton Darkin charged with trespass, were turned over to the Salvation Army.
On his way to North Bay, Edgar Pelletier, from Montreal, slept in a box car and was discovered by police. he got $10 or ten days.
Taken by Salvation Army On his way to North Bay, William Wilkins loitered too long in Toronto and found himself in the hands of the police, charged with vagrancy. The court turned him over to the friendly hands of the Salvation Army.
Jack Grainger was picked up as a vagrant, but because he had a home in Oshawa, he was told to go there. Martin Curreton was also discharged.
Arthur Wilcox, alleged vagrant, was placed in custody fro a week’s remand. The Salvation Army received William Haller who came from Saskatchewan.
Charged with stealing a ring and a wrist watch, Allan Foster was put on probation for one year.
Pleading guilty to stealing $50 worth of tobacco, Gordon Rafalovitch was placed on probation for 6 months definite, plus 6 months indeterminate.
Spoiled Neighbor’s Garden Charged with common assault on a neighbor, Saul Staiman was fined $1 and costs.
‘Staiman’s brother was pulling up plants in my garden,’ the complainant charged. ‘I ordered him away and Staiman came over and punched me.’
‘I pushed him’ Staiman admitted.
‘You have no right to push anyone. Your brother has no right to destroy this man’s plants,’ the bench declared.
James O’Connor, charged with shop-breaking, failing to satisfy the court why he was where he was at the time certain goods disappeared. He was given 12 months definite and 12 months indeterminate.
[AL: Tromans or Tromanes was 23, married, from London, England, was an abstainer and a Baptist and a bookkeeper - he had no previous criminal record, and the desire to rob the butcher shop was apparently driven by desperation, eviction threats, missed paycheques, and general stress caused by the Depression. He was convict #2654 at Kingston Penitentiary, and worked in the kitchen in the officer’s mess. He had no complaints, he claimed, about his time in prison, and did not join the October 1932 strikes and riot at Kingston Penitentiary. Nonetheless, he did have some requests - he wanted a better visiting system for his family, more letters, better tobacco rations. He was especially concerned about “if there could be anything done for the young fellows, 16 and 17 years, who come in here. I know a lot and seen a lot...I can take care of myself but would like to see something done for the young fellows.” He received his straps in July 1932. He was transferred to Collin’s Bay Penitentiary, the low security camp, in April 1933, becoming convict #545 there, and was released by expiration of sentence March 1935.
Shaw was convicted of conspiracy rather than armed robbery.  He was 24, married, from Detroit, was a cabinet maker, and was covered in scars and a prominent tattoo  - on his right forearm he had a dagger, heart, scroll, and words: Death Before Dishonor.” He had no criminal record, though his brother came to the pen shortly after and he was more ‘experienced’. Shaw was convict #2681, worked in the cabinet workshop, and was transferred July 1932 to Collin’s Bay - he was released from there in March 1934. Lebac or Lebuc was 26, single, from Montreal, and was also sentenced also for attempted arson as well as conspiracy. He had no previous criminal record, and worked as a cashier and butcher’s assistant in the shop.  He was convict #2696 at Kingston Penitentiary, and also worked in the kitchen. In August 1932 he was transferred to Collin’s Bay, becoming inmate #431. He was returned from that institution in October 1933, apparently due to ill health, becoming convict #3235, and was pardoned December 1934.
Note also the high level of ‘poverty crimes’ - not just robbery and shopbreaking prompted by economic chaos, but also beggars, vagrants, tramps, trespassers and petty theft. The response - locking them up and exiling them or sending to the Salvation Army - was clearly failing, but no other idea presented itself to the forces of law and order.]

This is behind a paywall, but I’ll share some quotes, especially what queer Mormons are quoted as saying. It will give you the essence of the article.
————————————————————
Stacey Harkey was 30 years old and an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints living in Provo when he approached his bishop to let him know that, for the first time in his life, he had decided to date men.
What followed was a confusing back-and-forth as Harkey sought clear guidance on what level of intimacy he was allowed to engage in without jeopardizing his standing in the church.
“My bishop told me if I crossed any lines, we would have to ‘handle it,’” he said. “But when I asked him what those lines were, he just responded with ‘any homosexual behavior.’”
“I don’t think that there’s really any guidance,” said Stuart Craig, a pilot and 28-year-old gay Latter-day Saint who is in his first committed relationship with another man, “except that it’s not really encouraged at all.”
“We’re pioneers,” said Calvin Burke, 26, who is gay and works as a media manager for Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought.
“Doctrinally, there’s nothing sinful about romantic relationships between me and another woman,” said Bee, a bisexual 19-year-old freshman at BYU who also asked that her real name not be used for fear of scrutiny from the school and church leaders. “I’ve read the scriptures and the only thing I could find was that sex comes after marriage. But, culturally, people think it’s a sin if I hold a woman’s hand.”
Taylor Petrey, author of “Tabernacles of Clay: Sexuality and Gender in Modern Mormonism,” traces the current ambiguity in queer Latter-day Saint dating culture to the church’s willigness in recent years to allow members to openly identify as LGBTQ, while at the same time no longer encouraging queer members to try to change their orientation through prayer, faithful living and heterosexual marriage.
In 2019, Dallin H. Oaks, who is next in line to assume the church presidency, stated that going forward “the immoral conduct in heterosexual or homosexual relationships will be treated in the same way.”
Later that year, current church President Russell M. Nelson echoed this same language in a BYU devotional, saying “that homosexual immorality would be treated in the eyes of the church in the same manner as heterosexual immorality.”
Kendall Wilcox — a 51-year-old gay member of Mormons Building Bridges — is less convinced. “The operative word in the new General Handbook isn’t ‘heterosexual’ or ‘homosexual,’” Wilcox said. “It’s ‘immoral.’ And the church still considers all homosexual behavior immoral.”
Wilcox, too, has seen a rise in the number of queer Latter-day Saints who are choosing to date. But not all are given equal treatment along the way, he warned.
“If you’re a white guy, you’re getting away with it way more than females, trans folks and people of color,” he said. “That’s just a very ugly fact.”
One point that all agreed was completely unambiguous was the fact that church leaders’ assertion that the faith holds straight and queer single Latter-day Saints to the same sexual standard is false.
“It’s great P.R.” said Christian Harrison, a 50-year-old gay Latter-day Saint living in Salt Lake City, “and utter rubbish.”
Other interviewees noted practical and safety concerns unique to trying to date as an active, queer Latter-day Saint.
Take, for instance, queer BYU students who choose to date, Harrison said. All it takes is one person in the relationship to feel guilty and threaten to out the other.
Both on and off campus, Burke said, the fact that many queer Latter-day Saints don’t feel like they can be open about their relationships gives room for predators to flourish.
“A healthy relationship involves you introducing the other person to your friends and you get their opinion and feedback because they can see things you don’t,” he said. “But the element of secrecy means none of that happens.”
When asked what, if anything, they would ask President Nelson, those interviewed offered a range from the practical to the theological, as well as the personal to the institutional.
Nearly all focused around a hope for greater clarity about their place in the faith.
“We see the fruits of the policies and the way that we treat queer Latter-day Saints,” Burke said. “Those fruits are suicide, heartbreak, broken homes, broken families and shattered dreams. If I were to meet with Nelson personally, I’d ask him: Is there something more that God is trying to tell us because of this? Is there something that we’re not yet listening to?”
Harkey echoed this sentiment, saying, “People are dying — children are dying — because of the way that we talk about these issues. I would just want to know why anything else comes before that.”
Finally, Adam McLain, who is gay wanted to know how the church’s prophet-president has gone about learning about queer issues. “Has it just been through reports delivered to him and the brethren?”
He then added, “I don’t think any change can come until people actually meet people they’re afraid of — or seem to be afraid of — and talk in deep, heartfelt, spiritually torn, and painful ways.”

Friday Flashback: Utopia - “I Just Want to Touch You”
Utopia weren’t the Beatles.
“I Just Want to Touch You” wasn’t “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”
And the video for “I Just Want to Touch You” wasn’t recorded on “the Ed Sullivan Show.”
But because the track came from Utopia’s faux Fab album, 1980’s Deface the Music, it makes sense the upstarts from the U.S. would make a fake trip to England in an attempt to inflict Utopiamonium on that country by appearing on a nonexistent, black-and-white TV show.
”And now, here they are, the band you’ve been waiting for,” the announcer with the creepy smile exudes. “The band that started the American Invasion, singing their smash hit … ladies and gentlemen, Utopia.”
Never mind that Utopia never had a smash hit - anywhere.
The camera pans to the right, where the band - Todd Rundgren as John Lennon, Kasim Sulton as Paul McCartney, Roger Powell as a keyboard-playing George Harrison and “Willie” Wilcox as Ringo Starr - bust into the two-minute track clad in their best Beatle suits.
Rundgren sports a Rickenbacker guitar and a harmonica rack and stands legs shoulder-length apart. Sulton plays a Hofner violin bass and they all shake their heads appropriately and go oooooh! as the sound of shrieking girls is pumped in under the music.
Bloody Beatlesque, this one is. But these Utopia fellas aren’t so innocent in their intentions.
Everybody says we’re too young/but I know all the things that they just can’t see/I just want to get inside you/if you’ll just give a minute to me
So what do we make of all this?
The Beatles wanted to hold your hand, the Rolling Stones wanted to be your man and Utopia just wanted to fuck you.
All you need is love is the answer.

Carrie: The Musical - Seattle - October 10, 2013 (SunsetBlvd79's master)
FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD)
CAST: Keaton Whittaker (Carrie White), Alice Ripley (Margaret White), Larissa Schmitz (Sue Snell), Kody Bringman (Tommy Ross), Tessa Archer (Chris Hargensen), Andrew Brewer (Billy Nolan), Kendra Kassebaum (Lynn Gardner), Brian Lange (Mr. Stephens), Erin Herrick (Norma), Melissa Maricich (Frieda), Frederick Habreen (George), Riley Neldham (Freddy), Alexandria Henderson (Helen), Eli Wills (Stokes)
NOTES: Beautiful HD capture of one of the Final Dress Rehearsals. Top notch production and thrilling performances from Alice, Keaton, and the whole cast! This is quite a unique capture since it was the first time the blood was dropped. Too many amazing things to point out here, don't miss this one!!! A+ Well filmed with a nice mix of close-ups and full stage shots and no obstructions. Based on the revised Off-Broadway version, and presented at the Balagan Theatre. Because this was recorded at the final run-through prior to opening night, there are a few “holds” as they worked out any kinks: * After “Evening Prayers” there is a hold to change all microphone batteries, resulting in most of the song being run a second time (the sound check was removed and put as a bonus at the end of act two). * During the scene where Carrie is getting ready for the prom a microphone made a "farting" noise and Alice grabbed her butt and said "sorry" which made the cast and tech crew laugh.
Carrie: The Musical - Seattle - October 13, 2013 (Pro-Shot's master)
FORMAT:  MP4 (SD)
CAST: Keaton Whittaker (Carrie White), Alice Ripley (Margaret White), Larissa Schmitz (Sue Snell), Kody Bringman (Tommy Ross), Tessa Archer (Chris Hargensen), Andrew Brewer (Billy Nolan), Kendra Kassebaum (Lynn Gardner), Brian Lange (Mr. Stephens), Erin Herrick (Norma), Melissa Maricich (Frieda), Frederick Habreen (George), Riley Neldham (Freddy), Alexandria Henderson (Helen), Eli Wills (Stokes)
NOTES: One of the first regional productions of the revised Carrie. Good to have Ripley in something.
Carrie: The Musical - Stagedoor Manor - July 31, 1999
FORMAT:  MP4 (SD)
CAST: Julie Kleiner (Carrie White), Vivienne Cleary (Margaret White), Nina Sturtz (Miss Gardner), Kaily Smith (Chris), Erin Evers (Sue), Blair Late (Tommy)
NOTES: Another abridged version. Video suffers from gen loss but has cleaned up decently. Piano is the only instrument in the orchestra, and it drowns out some of the singers. This has been incorrectly labelled as an authorized production, which is incorrect - this was an unauthorized production (e.g., no rights were secured before the production), though Gore (and Cohen) were in the audience of this performance and chose not to sue Jeff Murphy and Stagedoor over copyright infringement, partly because Gore said he had always wanted to see the show done with actual teenagers (reported by Jeff Murphy, the director).
Carrie: The Musical - Stratford-Upon-Avon - February 16, 1988 (Preview) (Pro-Shot's master)
FORMAT:  MP4 (SD)
CAST: Linzi Hateley (Carrie White), Barbara Cook (Margaret White), Sally Ann Triplett (Sue Snell), Paul Gyngell (Tommy Ross), Charlotte d'Amboise (Chris Hargensen), Gene Anthony Ray (Billy Nolan), Darlene Love (Lynn Gardner)
NOTES: Filmed professionally for the RSC archives on the third night of the performance (February 16, 1988). Shot from first row mezzanine center with no obstructions with audio taken directly from the soundboard. Mostly a full stage shots without zooms. This is usually incorrectly labelled as "Opening Night (February 13, 1988)", which is incorrect, as on opening night, Barbara Cook was almost decapitated right after the set changes from "Don't Waste The Moon", which not seen in this video (also verified by the person who copied this from the archives).

NOTES: A nice capture of the short lived show. Disc also includes around 100 minutes of interviews, B-Roll, behind the scenes, etc. Great video with nice picture and clear sound. A

CAST: Aaron Tveit (Frank Abagnale, Jr.), Norbert Leo Butz (Agent Carl Hanratty), Tom Wopat (Frank Abagnale, Sr.), Rachel de Benedet (Paula Abagnale), Kerry Butler (Brenda Strong), Linda Hart (Carol Strong)
NOTES: This is a great capture of the show. The show is filled with wonderful talent. Aaron and Norbert have a great chemistry together and Aaron has a huge voice. Kerry and Felicia both have great songs and great vocals. The show itself is very sleek and mod. A

CAST: Alex Jennings (Willy Wonka), Zachary Loonie (Charlie Bucket), Billy Boyle (u/s Grandpa Joe), Vincent Finch (Augustus Gloop), Amy Carter (Veruca Salt), Rhianna Dorris (Violet Beauregarde), Daniel Rhodes (Mike Teavee)
NOTES: Fun show with very imaginative staging, though I do wish they used more songs from (either) movie. The first 5 minutes of Act One has some wandering and blackouts, but after that it is a steady and unobstructed shot. Includes curtain call.
Chasing Rainbows - Paper Mill Playhouse - October, 2019 (StarCuffedJeans's master)
FORMAT:  MP4 (HD)
CAST: Karen Mason (Ma Lawlor), Stephen DeRosa (LB Mayer), Colin Hanlon (Roger Edens), Karen Mason (Kay Koverman), Ruby Rakos (Judy Garland), Lesli Margherita (Ethel Gumm), Max von Essen (Frank Gumm), Michael Wartella (Mickey Rooney)
NOTES: Great HD capture of this Judy Garland bio musical focusing on her early years, leading up to The Wizard of Oz, with a couple of fun tap numbers! Act One starts when Judy sings a version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow (same tune but with different lyrics). Act Two starts part way through the number right before they enter the MGM studio. Please do not post screenshots of this video on Twitter ever. Gifs on Tumblr are okay after the NFT date, but don't go linking things to actors and shows.
The Cher Show - Broadway - April, 2019 (StarCuffedJeans's master)
FORMAT:  MP4 (HD)

NOTES: Beautiful HD close-ups but some long drop-outs and quite a few obstructed scenes. The rake in the mezzanine at the Neil Simon kinda stinks and I'm pretty sure the ushers were playing flashlight tag with each other the entire show. but I began to care a lot less as the night went on Video is very Cher-centric...choreography in "Dark Lady" is captured beautifully, but for the rest of the show I was mostly focused on getting those Stephanie, Teal, and Micaela zooms. We start at the scene before "Half Breed" and when Stephanie tells everyone to stand up for the finale it's all over for my filming ability.

NOTES: Almost the full show (2 hours and 7 minutes). Usually referred to as Press Reels, this is actually the unedited footage shot for press or archival purposes. Decent amount on generation loss with some distortion at the top of the screen, and a time code at the bottom. Sometimes incorrectly labeled as 1995 .

NOTES: The original Broadway cast filmed prior to moving to Broadway. Professionally filmed using multiple cameras for the Lincoln Center Theatre on Film and Tape (TOFT) archives. Newly surfaced video which is a HUGE improvement over the previous version which has been in circulation for a while. This is also complete and includes the opening announcement alerting the audience that the show is being filmed. Amazing quality, but still has a little generational loss. In black and white. The DVD has been enhanced with chapter stops for all of the musical numbers. This, along with the tapes of Crazy for You and Passion, is amongst the only three TOFT tapes that have been leaked.

CAST: Zoe Gertz (Beverley/Annette & others), Douglas Hansell (Kevin T./Garth & others), Richard Piper (Claude & others), Simon Maiden (Oz & others), Sarah Morrison (Janice & others), Nicholas Brown (Kevin J./Ali & others), Nathan Carter (Nick/Doug & others), Katrina Retallick (Diane & others), Sharriese Hamilton (Hannah & others), Emma Powell (Beulah & others), Kellie Rode (Bonnie & others), Kolby Kindle (Bob & others)
NOTES: HD capture of the Australian company of this fantastic musical. Includes a video of a post-show Q&A with the cast in honour of the 18th anniversary of September 12. Shot from the back row of the dress circle, so a head blocks the centre at times but it’s shot around where possible. Most noticeable in the group numbers where a lot of the action is downstage. The first 4 minutes or so is mostly wandering shots as I was setting up my camera and evading ushers. A lot of great close-ups - Zoe’s “Me and the Sky” is a highlight.

NOTES: As far as I know, the first ever video of the Toronto production! I had the entire show in VOB format ready to post but, unfortunately, I lost the USB it was on in the middle of an airport. Luckily I was able to salvage all but thirty minutes of the original footage, so all that's lost is part of the scene after "I Am Here" and a portion of "Somewhere In The Middle Of Nowhere". If you find a USB the size of a thumbnail around Pearson, it's a $5 reward! A flu passed around the cast that they were all just recovering from, and at one point you can see Bev take a tissue out of her pilot's jacket and blow her nose. It explains the large number of understudies on, particularly of interest is that of the role of Hannah being played by a Caucasian actress, which causes her absence for the bus scene and leads to a severely different dynamic I'd not seen the character played as before.

NOTES: The bottom left of the video is slightly obstructed by a lighting rail. The master accidentally stop recording during '38 Planes' but realized right away so it’s only missing a second or two. Some nice close-ups. Clive misses the cue for the first “Welcome to the Rock!”

i’m going to post a bunch of pictures of wyatt in chronological order excluding anything that makes him any shade of red. partially just cause i feel like it, also just to see how he’s changed visually thru the years (or how he hasn’t)
by NO MEANS comprehensive
1960s:
Tumblr media
His FIRST appearance, 1966, Fantastic Four vol 1 #50. Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, no idea who did colors on either the original or the digital recolor. classic. delightful. very tall. six-foot-six and charming
1970s:
He’s mostly shades of light red/pink..... for most of the 70s...
Tumblr media
uh... Marvel Team-up #18 (1974) seems alright. Len Wein on writing, Gil Kane on pencils, Frank Giacoia and Mike Esposito on inks, Glynis Wein on colors so I’m actually shocked he’s not red cause she does that.... a lot.
1980s:
Tumblr media
stop me if you’ve seen this one--a classic from Marvel Graphic Novel #18 in 1985... (The Sensational She-Hulk! not the series.) Writing and art by John Byrne, ink by Kim DeMulder, color by Petra Scotese
Tumblr media
1989--She-Hulk: Ceremony #1 written by Dwayne McDuffie, with pencils by June Brigman, ink by Stan Drake and color by Paul Mounts. very cute and handsome. a weird comic with weird pacing that i’m not sure if i can recommend--it does a lot of stereotypical stuff but also is one of few comics to give wyatt a little more depth.
1990s
we’re just going to skip allll the way past Sensational She-Hulk
Tumblr media
1990: Marvel Graphic Novel #62: Ka-Zar: The Guns of the Savage Land written by Chuck Dixon and Timothy Truman with pencils by Gary Kwapisz and inks and colors by Ricardo Villagran.... another handsome one, mostly. bit of an odd comic imo but fun.
Tumblr media
Fantastic Four #394 in 1994, written by Mike Lackey, penciler: Paul Ryan, inker: Dan Bulanadi, colors by John Kalisz. have not read, but have seen pages and this scene is cute imo. he looks like the punisher lol
Early 2000s:
Tumblr media
...idk why i used such a terrible crop but it’s fine. 2000--Fantastic Four vol 3 #29, writer: Chris Claremont, Penciler: Salvador Larroca, Inker: Art Thibert and Colorist: Liquid! Personally not a fan. Claremont’s run is fun but I just... find his approach to Wyatt’s family and tribe lacking--felt like he just made a bunch of stuff up instead of looking into his character.
Tumblr media
Fantastic Four #543 (2007) "C'mon Suzie, Don't Leave Us Hangin'" Writer: Dwayne McDuffie, Penciler: Mike McKone, Inker: Andy Lanning and Cam Smith, Color: Paul Mounts. Same dude who colored Ceremony which i would not have believed if you told me cause he’s way paler here and also it’s just generic digital coloring vs the colorful paint in Ceremony..... weird. fucking massive arms though, jesus christ
Tumblr media
Fantastic Four #543 (2007) "A Day At the Races" Writing and art by Paul Pope with colors by Jose Villarrubia. I haven’t read this cause I’ve been having trouble finding it.... art is weird.... kind of ugly... yet weirdly captivating......
20-teens
Tumblr media
She-Hulks #2 (2010/2011) Writer: Harrison Wilcox, Penciler: Ryan Stegman, Inker: Michael Babinski, Color: Guru-eFX. I thought this min-series was actually really well-done for the most part, though the She-Hulks are too small and SO IS WYATT? He’s the size of a regular, possibly kind of short man which is really weird. The colors are odd too, it’s clear he’s supposed to be darker than Jen but he looks very desaturated. he’s not bad looking though and he’s sweet. just too short.
Tumblr media
FF vol 2 #3 (2013) Written by Matt Fraction, penciled and inked by Michael Allred, colored by Laura Allred. Um.... I ignored most of the plot in this FF series, but the personal moments I found really nice and this is a great Wyatt-- Tall, dark and handsome. And charming.
Tumblr media
She-Hulk Vol 3 #6 (2014) written by Charles Soule with art by Ron Wimberly. Haven’t read this yet but plan to. The art in this issue is.... interesting...
Tumblr media
Fantastic Four vol 5 #11 (2014) written by James Robinson, pencils by Leonard Kirk, ink by Karl Kesel and colors by Jesus Aburtov. The pencils on this are okay I guess but the coloring I’m not a fan of. Wyatt being WAY paler than his other 2014 appearances isn’t great and I hate when colorists make brown eyes orange. The story seems fun though.
Tumblr media
Fantastic Four vol 6 #1 (2018) Written by Dan Slott, penciled by Sara Pichelli, with ink by Pichelli and Elisabetta D'Amico, and colors by Marte Gracia. At least he has a different skintone than Johnny here.
I won’t bother talking about my complaints with this run but all of the colorists have made Wyatt pretty pale and after a decent amount of his appearances being tan it’s offputting. I didn’t include them but Jesus Aburtov has another stint on this that’s REALLY pale, and Erick Arciniega makes him pretty pale too.
adam hughes’ art is nice tho, in issue 5--he did all the pencils, inks and colors I believe, in the bachelor party ish. love his red tuxedo jacket.
2020s!!!!!!
he hasn’t appeared yet but.. BUT. This upcoming cover, a palate cleanser, if you will:
Tumblr media
from the upcoming Fantastic Four #20. looks to be by Nick Bradshaw and John Rauch, a beautiful cover as always, on which everyone is attractive imo. sky is always cute tbf. johnny is lovely, love his dumb outfit... wyatt is nice and big and solid and handsome which is nice to see after a bunch of far-too-slender and pale wyatts. he is 6′6″ okay! at LEAST 260 lbs if not closer to 290

Extremely Rare Slides by Charles Rowan, from The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence, which aired on ABC on March 19, 1975, and was shot on December 10-16, 1974. It was one of the two pilots produced for The Muppet Show. The other pilot, The Muppets Valentine Show, aired in 1974.
In this half-hour variety special, the Muppets parody the proliferation of sex and violence on television.
Nigel, Sam the Eagle, and hippie guitarist Floyd prepare for a Pageant based on the Seven Deadly Sins, with Muppets representing the Sins – Envy, Anger, Gluttony, Vanity, Lust, Avarice and Sloth.
The original working title for the special was The Muppet Nonsense Show.
SKETCHES (IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE) The Conference Room: Nigel, Sam, and Floyd play different games before being interrupted by different deadly sins. Mount Rushmore: The stone presidents trade jokes. At the Dance The Wrestling Match: The San Francisco Earthquake displays his winning tactics. Aggression: Featuring two stalks, fuzzy hook-nosed creatures, interacting with two heaps, tarantula like monsters talking in gibberish. Films in Focus: A review pans the film Return to Beneath the Planet of the Pigs. The 7 Deadly Sins Pageant, which ends up being cut short by the credits As the credits roll, the camera pulls back to reveal the puppeteers running around. Sloth shows up and asks if he is late. ↑ hide VIDEO RELEASES The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence was released on DVD in 2005, as an extra feature on the Muppet Show: Season One box set. On the box and on the DVD menus, it is referred to as The Muppet Show Pilot.

It’s one of those typical shows that comes on at three in the morning an hour before the infomercials begin, the ones they play because everyone sane person on this side of the world is asleep, called something like “What Really Happened?” or “Crimes of the 21st Century” or “Terror in East Lansing”.
