Which Hermione are you talking about?

i think when describing Hermione as book-smart, nerdy, introverted, fussy and socially awkward that only breaks SCHOOL rules for Harry’s adventures because she’s his friend, is also very insecure and kinda cute that Ron would love and would LOVE Ron, people are thinking of the Hermione from book 1 and 2. Typical Virgo girl - like very stereotype tumblr horoscope described Virgo. They cant think too far ahead or the big picture, but will perfect any details on their work for their friends and those who need them. They do think by the book, literally. Ron, with his emotional and social intelligence and his jest for life, would help her to be more openminded and relaxed with her perfectionism.

And when people are saying she’s this vindictive, extroverted, ambitious, unapologetic activist, that has a penchant for breaking BIGGER rules as in LAW and ORDER in the wizarding world with sudden social vision and influence, they are talking about the “Rowling” Hermione who existed in book 4 onwards. She’s an Aquarius rising and is NOT a good partner to Ron. Whatever Rowling intended with her, the book 1 and 2 is NOT the second Hermione aka Rowling and would turn out very differently from Rowling herself. And after book 3, it seems Rowling lost touch and connection on who’s really Hermione and who’s herself. That’s why the “breaK” of the 4th wall, of Hermione’s characterization, and the loss of Ron’s. And why it’s so hard to get a picture of her in fandom : whenever you have book quotes as Romonie evidence for Hermione 1, people would have theirs for Hermione 2. Again which is she? What the hell would Ron/Hermione become?

Hermione 1 cant be paired with Harry because she’s so…nerdy and closeminded and cant be paired with Malferret because he literally called her Mudblood. But who is us to say anything about Hermione 2, who used Umbridge’s method to punish people, who not only nagged (Virgo) but also can lie and can trick adults into submission with her so-much-bigger-than-Hogwarts-and-Dumbledore “big picture” rule breakings and also solved anyone’s romance problems (Aquarius) ? She would and can fix 100 Draco’s because he lied and tricked people out of Hogwarts scope too, just that he’s so much more coward and incompetent than her. Also Fred/Hermione, the intellectual business man/intellectual business woman ship itself and even Fred died because he’s still a character that has no meta powers. No wonder Snape/Hermione exists. Even he cant break the meta like Hermione 2.

Compared to Ron/Hermione. Harry/Ginny is much more consistently written throghout the books and same for any other ship, because Rowling remembers that they are characters and not herself and her problems.

To be honest, "Hermione 1″ was also VERY ready to fuck shit up and break the rules when it was convenient for her.

Remember how she set Snape on fire out of fear for Harry’s life? How she brewed Polyjuice Potion so they’d be able to interrogate Malfoy (and Ron himself, very justly, points out that this “a plan where so many things can go wrong”: they didn’t know the password, they almost got caught by Percy, Malfoy could’ve been doing his homework in his room).

But “Hermione 1″ IS extroverted, she’s bossy and nerdy and in-your-face, she knows stuff and isn’t afraid to tell you she knows, she’s not the kind of person that stays passive and lets herself get steamrolled (... unless the person steamrolling her is an authority figure).

The issue is that as Rowling went on, she started to prioritize both Harry and Hermione’s characters over Ron’s. Ron is constantly looked at in a “bit rubbish ain’t he?” fashion, almost patronizingly, a sort of “oh you’re so immature but there there you’ll grow up eventually, if you could hurry up tho that’d be great”.

Ron receives ZERO support from his friends as he goes around trying to figure out how this “growing up” thing works.

Harry and Hermione are meanwhile excused of everything bad they do, because “Harry’s got PTSD and such a difficult life”, and “oh well Hermione is so mature, she’s allowed to be impatient and annoyed with people who can’t keep up with her genius!! Plus they probably did something to deserve it anyway”.

What Hermione really needs is to be humbled. It could happen in many ways, some more cruel than others. Have her make a mistake that for fucking once has consequences on her personal life and fucks all her shit up. Have her need to accept defeat, to understand and internalize that it was no one’s fault but hers that it happened that way. Destroy the notion that “no but actually HERMIONE was the true victim-”.

The sad truth is, a lot of people want to be Hermione - “Hermione 2″. The girl who always turns out to be technically right, who puts the fear of God into those who offend her, who is such a key player in Harry's story, whom a Quidditch superstar would date, who constantly gets told how brilliant and clever she is but can also look so pretty but doesn't because "she's smarter than wanting to be pretty"... who would refuse to be such a girl? Especially if you idealize her so much that you forget she’s not supposed to be nice, approachable, unfailingly kind and all that crap (which is the image of Hermione we got thanks to the fucking movies).

I do enjoy the idea of Hermione being this feral gremlin that loves her friends and would set the world on fire for their sake - but a thing that happens starting from GOF onward is Hermione setting the world on fire more for her own sake than for her friends’. See how it’s only once Rita Skeeter made an article about her, Krum and Harry that Hermione goes truly on the warpath when at first she kinda was like “ugh people are so dumb to believe her”. How Rita Skeeter in OOTP is identified as “one of Hermione’s least favourite people in the world” when it’s Harry who was the most preyed on by Rita. See how Hermione Confunds McLaggen in HBP so Ron can join the Quidditch team (and so Hermione can feel like Ron “owes” her something). And of course see her wiping her parents’ memories and beating Ron up when he’s back...

The problem is that JKR thinks abuse, if done by a woman, is badass.

omg tysm for this question I love talking about my fav fics ESP BC SO MANY OF THEM ARE NON AOT 🙈🙈 I had to go to my ffn favs for this hihi

so this is list is home to the fics that I have truly idolised, read repeatedly and tried to emulate in some way or another in my own writing journey:

1. Heartbeat by letmeannoyyoutoday. U must have heard me screaming about this fic before. It is god tier, the angstiest, the most painful Sasusaku you can imagine. There isn’t even smut in it but still I’m rendered a sobbing mess everytime I read this story. And I read it every fortnight or so, I swear. canonverse. sasusaku get married.

2. The most dangerous things by Childoftheashes. Man this fic is the tastiest thing in the ichihime fandom istg. Ichigo is unapologetically horny and bossy and slutty and I love everything about it. Orihime is absolutely clueless and drives him up a wall and it’s literally completely smut! This author is one of my smut senseis. I also really love "chasing paper tigers like dreams" by her.

3. Sometimes I think the stupidest things by starsinew. Ok I’m sorry for putting this here bc this user doesn’t have this fic up anymore (I managed to find the epub and thank fuck for that) but I had to talk about it bc this fic changed me on a fundamental level. I fell in love with it so much, even to this day I look back at it with an education lens as to how to write smut. God tier. I hope this author is well and living their best life.

4. Friends with Benefits by confused panda bear. Syaosaku, card captor Sakura. Again a story that doesn’t exist anymore online but I still remember some of the dialogues bc they were so iconic. Definitely a primer on smut writing for me. I invite you to check out their other stories tho they’re literally the harugou mother, birthing the most insane crackship in the free! fandom and getting everyone else drunk on it thanks to their god tier writing.

5. Clarity by randomteenager — angsty but silly gruvia. i love it so much.

6. Seeking Ginny by Casca. Harry/Ginny fic with heavy emphasis on Ginny's personal growth.

7. How to Coexist by Spoilerarlert and also washed up and rundown, I haven't finished it yet but fuck its amazing so far. Both are modern AU stories, one in NYC and the other in Chicago. I can't recommend this author enough, they have a very original and compelling style of writing.

8. Little Beast by herblacktights. This is my fav modern au, high school eremika. If you haven't heard me raving me about this fic already then ur obviously new here. ITS AWESOME! go read it now

9. Dog by Ackermom. floch x eren at it's unhealthiest best. canonverse. This author is one my favs actually, I devour ALL of her work, no exception. I also really enjoyed her reibert fics.

10. Icarus & I by bluinary. Armin-centric. Modern AU. I read this many years ago but I think of it often. I loved Armin's journey in this fic.

11. Three Days by Lotos-Eater. Canonverse. An angsty smutty Shikatema fic where Shikamaru thinks he's lost her.

12. For everything there is a season by SouthSideStory. If y'all are sasusaku stans then you know SouthSideStory already. She's phenomenal. This one is angsty sequel which delves into Sakura's feelings post miscarriage. I highly recommend the prequel as well.

13. Fool for you by Hand of Destiny. Syaosaku. Card Captor Sakura. Syaoran is a business mogul from a very traditional Chinese family. Sakura is an innocent girl who decides to try giving the escort profession a go. God tier, I swear. It also has a sequel!

14. lost girl & found boy. eremika. lost girls-verse. mikasa wants to know how babies are made, etc. cw: teen pregnancy.

15. all you want by senlinyu. i just binged this yesterday. holy shit. it's the big daddy of m/f omegaverse fics, I swear. dramione. canonverse + omegaverse. really really good!!!

You made me think about how Harry is his mother's son. Lily had basically no support in the muggle world because Petunia hated her, but she also suffered a lot of prejudice in the wizarding world even tho she had a whole life there.

At some point in Harry's life he was hated by both worlds 💀

i think a big influence in his life that gets forgotten about is that he has no anchor. and especially in the path from you i really wanted to showcase this.

in his adolescence, it was hogwarts. but as an adult, he has nothing really, outside of teddy and his two best friends, that tie him down. he wanted it to be ginny, but he was too much a noble git, and too afraid of being a burden that he isolated himself instead of admitting that he needed her.

he could've escaped to the muggle world, been anonymous, but the other thing that defines harry's character is how much he loves magic. it gave him his first ever place of belonging. think how important that would be to a neglected and abused child. a place of belonging. even when he was hated, he still belonged. he would never, could never, give that up.

So, when I searched Snape stan you were one of the first blogs to appear and by investigating *coughs* stalking *coughs* for a while *coughs* 15 minutes *coughs* I have decided to submit a fic idea that has been there for a while. I have absolutely no intention on writing it but I want it to be out there in the world.

It may already be, I'm not gonna lie it's pretty basic.

So I want a severitus fic where Jilly is very much alive.

Like, the war happened, but Neville is the boy who lived in this universe. Snape still works for Dumbledore as a teacher and he hates being surrounded by dunderheads all the time.

Harry on the other hand had a much better childhood than the one at the Dursleys. But there are still things.

Lily's fiery right, that translates into a bit of an anger problem when parenting because she usually doesn't have the patience for Harry's major kid fuck up's. So, controversial opinion, she beats him. Hear me out, it's the 80's, people beat their children for discipline today too, imagine what it was like in the 80's when it was actually considered a good thing.

James, on the other hand, I imagine as materialistic, always getting Harry stuff and not understanding that all Harry wants in a hug and "I am proud of you!". So, naturally he gets mad at Harry because he doesn't understand his point of view and of course Harry learns that there are consequences to not being happy all of the time.

So, we have emotional issues wrapped up in a trenchcoat pretending to be a "spoiled" 11 year old.

This mess of a person gets to Hogwarts, proceeds to gain a reputation as the class clown, because he's always happy and is really upset about it, thinking that's a bad thing.

Severus finds him crying in a hallway after his friends start calling him the class clown and comforts him.

What happens after is up to you I think.

I didn't plan this far. I was honestly thinking of Harry accidentally becoming a horcrux, by accidentally absolving the horcrux in the diary in second year. You decide how.

Personally I was thinking he was the one the diary took and when the stealing of magic began, Tom started to feel a little woozy.

I like the idea that the events of the second book happened to Harry instead of Ginny 🤔

And I never thought about the normalized discipline in that era…🤯 I feel like the roles would be opposite tho. Considering what we see in canon, I think James would be the one to get fed up and result to whooping and Lily is the parent who lets it happen and compensates by doing the bare minimum and expecting you to “be grateful” because “others have it worse”

dean is such a nice dude, as we see from the way he respects harry since day 1 all the way up to DH while the trio were eavesdropping. even tho harry swooped in and "stole" his girlfriend freshly a week later. ofc, this niceness can be to his own detriment (helping ginny through the portrait hole), but still.

they're sexually attracted to each other. the way they were snogging fiercely in the corridor that ron and harry caught them in is proof enough. it was certainly enough to trigger harry's chest monster when ginny and michael couldn’t.

you would think that two hotheaded, stubborn, impulsive people would clash tremendously, but interestingly enough, they don't. at least from the few scenes we've seen. like when ginny told harry off in the lucky you scene, or when harry told ginny the hbp book is nothing like tom's diary. he was thoughtful and learned his lesson.

similar interests. they both believe that quidditch is more than a game, and for personal reasons too. for harry, quidditch is like a reprieve from his trauma, and for ginny, quidditch is something that empowers her and gives her independence.

values and humor. the former is obvious: they value family, love, the greater good, fighting for what's right, all that jazz. and for humor, we have the iconic pygmy puff scene and all the cute looks throughout the books, just to name a few examples.

Harry x Cho

again, house unity! we love a good gryffindor branching out to other houses ship.

harry was pretty attracted to her? like, she was his first crush. for three books. he didn't know much about her, yes, and when he did, there were problems. but physically, it's a different story.

their ship name is charry! which, c'mon, i hate to say it, but it rolls off the tongue a bit better than another ship we know *cough cough*

frictional best friends to lovers. they drive each other insane, but it's practically foreplay for them. they enjoy making each other pissed off. which, couldn't be me, but it seems to work for them.

ron remembers her so much. he defends her during the troll scene in ss, the slug scene in cos, thinks about her when she's taking a million classes in poa, stands up to snape for her, and those are just in the earlier books. plus, when he cried after he killed the horcrux in DH, thinking of her? or when harry pointed out that maybe dumbledore gave him the deluminator because he knew that ron would come back? or his speech when he did come back? i lowkey teared up a bit too.

they're extremely passionate people, but in a the-other person-can-relate sort of way. like, they both get jealous when they see each other with other people. which, yeah, is not necessarily great, but it's relatable, ya know? it's not like they can accuse each other for things they do themselves.

I kinda love the idea of an older Gideon because he probs doesn’t have as much of a chip on his shoulder..(not that ginny ever did really either tho tbf) like no one has issues with him doing quidditch and being good at it, he doesn’t haven’t to struggle with being the youngest Weasley and being the only girl..he probs has a lot more confidence and probs doesn’t struggle as much to make friends etc…dudes got things secret admirers but all that matters is quidditch and just vibes… life is good….I say gid is mostly just wondering how he can mess with/ look at our his youngest sib when they finally come to hogwarts….and then young halley, a cryptic gremlin child comes rolling into his life by befriending his awkward lil bro/sis and things start getting even more interesting and ridiculous lol he may not instantly have a crush on her like in the canon but he is definitely intrigued lol

and when you have a character who presents so confidently to the outside world, how do they deal with the secret loneliness that the diary exploits? how do they cope after being possessed, the gaps in their memory, losing the inherent trust in their body and mind? rightfully, the whole ordeal knocks gideon down. so, what's next to do but pretend?

much like how i imagine ginny's school life post-diary, there's a strong 'fake it until you make it" mentality. if ginny shows the world that she's always funny and confident, then maybe it'll feel real one day. canonically, she shows such a strong front that harry almost forgets, but the anger is still there.

This got too long. So this Where Are They Now is split into 2. This part focuses on the time skip between chapters 31 and 32 of YBWM. The next part will be the one year after the final YBWM chapter 😂.

Our babies have graduated yay!. As mentioned in a chapter at some point.

Mrs Weasley, Ginny and Hermione planned a graduation/birthday bash for YN.

This is the most mingling that all of YNs different groups have done ever.

It wasn't intentional but while Jungwon made his place in YNs friend group, she found it harder to mingle with his friends.

The only one she was most comfortable with was Wonyoung, who being the star she is.

Took it upon herself to make sure YN is comfortable and happy around the rest of Jungwons friends.

Jungwon on the other hand, he's practically being passed around the Weasleys, all of them sizing him up.

Interrogating him on if he's worthy for their girl.

Sirius takes extreme joy in reminding Jungwon that he is YNs dad and just one wrong step, he can ruin Jungwons life.

The Malfoys join in that by declaring they'll make Jungwon a pariah in British Magical society if he dares hurt YN.

The funniest has to be Teddy, who the minute YN gets there, attaches himself to her and doesn't leave her alone.

Any time Jungwon even tried getting close, he gets a glare from Teddy and a few times Teddy almost biting him 😂.

Eventually Remus and Tonks find Teddy and they talk to him about leaving ynwon alone 😂.

Now moving on from this party. Since graduating, we've got ppl moving in together.

Jungwon, Sunghoon and Jay, all get an apartment together. Bahi, moves to France to train to be a magical seamstress.

Gaeul and Wonyoung are still living with their parents but plan to move out in a year or so.

Meanwhile, all the troublemakers decide to come together and rent in the same building.

The purebloods aka YNs besties, theyve got their parents mansions to choose from.

None of them want to be separated so decide to live at one of their mansions together.

Well all of them but the Choi line, Soul and Jake, give an ultimatum that they refuses to live with the Choi's again 😂.

So those three just buy a nice apartment in diagon alley but majority of the time they're at whoever's house the group is living in.

So in the end, YNs parents mansion is decided. All of them living there.

After the debacle that happened at Hogwarts, Ron was determined to send YNs family to jail.

It got to the point, Hermione who before taking up teaching was a famous lawyer, came out to fight YNs case against her family.

That worked and they get sent to Azkaban for life.

In the process, Hermione finds a way to nail all the other kids horrible parents/family as well.

So everyone free from abusive families.

In lieu of this, Harry manages to convince YN to get therapy for everything she's been thru.

She resists at first but eventually agrees.

Jungwon seeing how much this helps YN, makes it his mission to convince the rest of her friends to go to therapy as well.

Basically all the purebloods in YNs group get therapy and are healing.

Now onto more things that happen in the years between graduating and final chapter.

Jungwon is in law school and tho it is killing him, he's determined to work at H&R, Hermione and Remus law firm eventually.

Sunghoon, always the one filming, wanted to be a photographer but he gets street casted in Muggle London.

Jay is a trainee auror. Hes doing okay, it's long and hard but he's happy.

Gaeul and Wonyoung, start they're own skin care and make up line, using magic and Muggle products.

Trouble makers san YN, get offered jobs with the Weasley twins.

They all take it without even thinking.

Causing trouble and chaos as a day job, it's their dream.

Our pureblood besties have more than enough money that they never need to work but they all want to earn.

However it's Sirius that tells them that they need to recover, process all that they've been thru first before they can live for themselves.

They all decide to just go to therapy, start healing and then decide what they want to do, they've got the time and money to do that.

Regardless of that, these workaholics need things to do.

Soul, Heeseung, Jake and Theo decide they're gonna redo the interiors of their family mansions.

The girls not to be outdone, help Gaeul and Wonyoung with their business but are also doing odd jobs for the vast number of Weasleys and other connections that YN has.

After about 2 years of therapy, YN decides she wants to go on a trip. Initially she wants it to be a solo trip.

However, no one wants to let her go on her own. Not because they don't trust her.

Oh no, cause they know this girl will cause chaos wherever and there needs to be ppl to keep her in line 😂.

So the parental disappointments all decide to go on a trip together. Sirius puts together an itinerary, it ends up being a year long trip.

Yep, u read right. Ynwon were long distance for a whole year. They made it work, obviously.

Now we're a year before the final chapter. YN decides she's had enough of the odd jobs, she knows what she wants as a career.

She's training under Hermione, to be a transfiguration master. At some point, take over being transfiguration professor at Hogwarts.

Chaehyun is happy to be a normal ministry worker, she enjoys the monotony of a 9-5.

Theo, Jake, Heeseung and Soul, took over the family businesses and changed everything.

Got rid of the toxic work environment their parents had created.

Trouble makers, specifically Sunoo and Niki approach Theo and Heeseung about starting a business together.

While the 2 loved working for the Weasleys, they want to make theyre own things, branch out.

Eventually they convince Youngeun and Hikaru to make a new business. Which Sirius happily helps invest in.

Soul, who didn't want to take over his family business, hands it to Intak who happily takes over.

Soul, joins the new Troublemakers Inc. and loves working with his friends as they build a business to rival that of the Weasley twins.

YN tho busy with her masters, does invest some of her family money into Troublemakers Inc.

So coming back from the one year long trip, dynamics and living arrangements have changed.

Soul and YN decide to move to Hogsmeade, closer to Hogwarts and the law firm Jungwon is working at.

Everyone else disperses to be closer to significant others or to their places of work.

Troublemakers inc. prioritise meeting up as much as they can. Its hard with them all being busy but they make it work.

Surprisingly, Heeseung is the one who takes to being a society wife.

He's not even married but seeing his love for event planning, Narcissa Malfoy took him under her wing.

With Heeseung planning the events, none of the purebloods are allowed to not come, Jungwon weirdly enough is his helper.

His events are so exclusive, they've got foreign dignitaries begging Harry to get them invites to Heeseungs events if they're in the country when they are happening.

According to Jungwon, helping Heeseung plan events is how he procrastinates from all the paper work he has to fill out as a lawyer.

Jake getting tired of being a CEO, decides to try being a healer. He's joined the fast track course at St Mungo's.

Theo on the other hand thrives at being a CEO. He always wanted to be part of the family business. He really is living his best life.

Jay. Is an auror, he's one of the best and is making quite the name for himself.

Bahi after finishing her studies in France, is working for Madame Malkin's. She's being trained to take over after Madame Malkin retired.

Gaeul and Wonyoungs business took off. They are trying to expand across Europe, so these two are always flying everywhere.

Sunghoon, becomes a famous movie star, he only ever leaves the magical world when he's filming so paparazzi can never get pics of him 😂.

Choi line are just causing chaos in any way they can, they've got money you last generations so they only ever work when they want to.

All three decide to go to Muggle univeristy. By the final chapter they're studying to get they're second degrees.

Ynwon tho hella busy, make time for dates and each other.

She was just the "Weasley Girl" "Ron's little Sister". Crying rn because how the fuck did you conclude that not shipping Hinny is equals to hating Ginny. I personally don't care about Ginny, she's cool. she's great at what she does. She was this almost perfect uninteresting WRITTEN CHARACTER. I actually like them in the movies because of Ginny's simple glances towards Harry. The chemistry was shit tho because the actors weren't comfortable (if I remember correctly?) but it's cute and all that.

the fuck are you saying 😭💀 I do not hate Ron or Ginny, esp GINNY BECAUSE SHE WAS SO IRRELEVANT UNTIL HARRY DECIDED HE WANTED TO FUCK HER. So really there's nothing to hate except the fact that she called Fleur names.

And Harry is just a huge hypocrite for marrying a fan girl when he himself hated his fame. I'm also weirded out with the jily parallel going on. I'd never marry someone who looks like my mother or father. That shits just weird.

While Ron Weasley is fleshed out. He was a WELL WRITTEN FICTIONAL CHARACTER. JK wrote Ron really well as a FRIEND towards Harry, he's very caring to the point that even though he was fighting with Hermione he was still worried about her. The only flaw you'd see on him was that he's insecure and felt unimportant.

Full offense to the people who think Ron doesn't deserve Hermione. They don't deserve each other, final. period. Because they constantly hurt each other emotionally and physically. Emotionally hurting each other is a normal thing esp for couples who're just starting and all that, while physically hurting each other is fucked up. That's abuse bro.

anyways I don't hate any of them. I may dislike them because of some of the things they did. But you can't define a person just by the bad things and all that. At the end of the day they're only fictional characters and you can hate them, you can love them. It doesn't matter, they aren't real. What does matter is the feelings of the people you call names or threaten just because they like and dislike characters you have different opinions of.

He doesn’t have a good relationship with his father, even before the attack

He was always kind of small and scrawny, and he just grew to be tall and lanky

He grew up moving around a lot and watching the strain it took on his parents to be mobile

When he was eleven, he met Dumbledore and it changed his life, he became a willing servant

Going to Hogwarts was so amazing and cool, making friends was an added bonus

He hit his growth spurts first, making him a good six/eight inches taller for about a year until his friends joined him

(He was still the tallest at almost 6’5”)

James often asked him how the view was

Hogwarts became his safe haven when his mum died and his dad remarried a year later

When he was home he spent so much time alone, and he grew very depressed in the summer

Remus took the leap and started writing Lily the summer between fourth and fifth year, knowing that her home life wasn’t very easy

It made their friendship easier to form when they both became prefects that school year

Remus loved being a prefect and helping younger students, he got James and Sirius to help out with tutoring, James was the only one of the pair to keep it up

Sirius and Remus did butt heads a lot, but they were both really close and often shared stories about their home life together

(Personally I don’t ship wolfstar, but this is where they would start to realize their feelings for each other and start dating - end of 5th year/beginning of 6th year)

Remus was the one to bridge the gap of Lily’s in sureness about the other three boys, Sirius was the first Marauder after Remus to become her friend

He really took on the role of “best friend” for Lily after her falling out with the human garbage

He also sat in between James and Lily and listened to them flirt with each other with a straight face

His blank face was his strongest disguise

He left his home when he was seventeen, crashing with the Potters too

He really took on his “furry little problem” by himself once he was of age, but his friends didn’t allow him too

Graduating for Hogwarts was such a bittersweet moment and he wished his parents, or really his mum, was there to see it

He didn’t have the luxury of throwing all of his efforts into the war, he worked A LOT odd jobs during that time

He was the first person to find out about Harry, holding Lily’s hand when the test turned positive

He constantly reminded James and Lily that this wasn’t the end

(What he didn’t know and would never have wished too)

He held Lily’s hand when she went into labor and watched Harry come into the world

He was the first person after James and Lily to hold Harry

we'd still worship this love

My (first) entry to the @cruelsummer-ficfest! I chose Hinny for my (first) fic and was assigned the song False God from the Lover album.

It's a "Harry and Ginny get back together the summer after the war" fic, featuring some mutual pining and really Harry and Ginny being hopelessly in love.

Harry stared at the figure in the distance, her long red hair following after her as she flew in circles. That was how he felt right now, the distance, the confusing, circles seemed to be the only thing that made sense right now when nothing else did. He loved her still, had met his death for her, but it didn’t matter.

Nothing mattered with her in the air and him on the ground.

It made sense, he had left her, abandoned her when they had just started together. He had made a mess of things when it didn’t matter either way, and he had ruined everything when it did matter.

“You can just talk to her,” said Charlie, and Harry turned his head, he didn’t know Charlie as well as the other Weasley siblings, but he was Ron’s favorite of his older brothers…and he wrote Ginny the most often. She had made sure to write him at least twice a week, ever since her life dropped off when she was eleven, Charlie made sure that they never got out of touch again. “Don’t need to be staring at her from the kitchen window, acting all worried like mum.”

Harry blushed, feeling like an idiot. He could easily grab a broom and go chase after Ginny, make her talk to him. She was the easiest person in the whole house to talk too, especially with Ron and Hermione gone in Australia.

“Or you can leave her alone,” said Percy from his seat at the kitchen table, not looking up from his cup of tea. “She’s going back to Hogwarts in three weeks, let her be.”

Harry felt uncomfortable, he had once felt like Percy was an older brother, someone he could rely on, but he had betrayed them in the beginning of the war. He had chosen the Ministry’s story over his, and even though they knew now it was on Dumbledore’s orders, it didn’t hurt any less.

But Percy was right all the same. Ginny was leaving again for her final year, and Hermione was going to go with her too, hopefully finding her parents before they had to get on the train again. Harry didn’t even know if he could say goodbye, he loved Hermione as a sister and he loved Ginny…he loved her more than anything.

“Don’t be a cynic, Perce,” said Charlie, sitting down across from his brother, and Harry took this as his chance to slip out the back door. He could recognize an argument brewing before any of the Weasley siblings could.

He sat down on the back steps and watched Ginny fly, wishing that he could make himself get on a broom and follow her. He was tired of leading the way, he had been the focus for so long and he wanted to hide in the background.

But Ginny had never made him feel that way.

Headcanons about Fleur?

@theravenclawartist asked for some Dominique or Fleur headcanons too, so let’s go!

Fleur:

She grew up just outside of Paris with her parents and sister and never imagined ever leaving her country

It took a lot of convincing to get her to come to Hogwarts for the tournament

It was Gabrielle who convinced her

It was during her time at Hogwarts that she decided to leave France and move to London

It was only supposed to be for one year, with A LOT of visits home

But then she met Bill, and fell in love very quickly

Bill gave her a sense of comfort that she never had in France, or with her family, and that, along with the war made her say yes to his proposal

Molly was against it, but Bill fought for her

After the war, Fleur just wanted to have a baby and keep that warm feeling of safety

Victoire became her life and joy, and everything felt perfect

The family was growing, George and Angelina were going to have a baby, Harry and Ginny were engaged, Ron was thinking about proposing

And then Angelina had a stillbirth and the whole family didn't know what to do, but Fleur tried to be there for Angelina, even though Bill wasn't for George

Fleur was a bridesmaid in their wedding that next summer, and she found out she was pregnant again a month later

She lost the baby, Jacques Frederick Weasley, 'Jack'

It was the first break in her and Bill's relationship

Fleur took a very long time to recover, and then she got pregnant with Dominique

Dominique had been a very hard pregnancy and Fleur was constantly anxious, but then she had her second daughter, just as perfect as her first

Finding out she was pregnant again so quickly after Dominique scared her

Louis was born at around 28 weeks, he was only four pounds and they were told that it was unlikely that he would live through the summer

He came home on his original due date in August

Fleur loves to sing, and it's how she used to wake up the kids for school

Her favorite is John Denver for waking the kids up, she loves his voice (though she thinks she does the songs better)

She also tried teaching all three of her kids French, but none of them were a natural at the language, though Louis did pick it up best

Even at her lowest points in her marriage to Bill, she still loved him and went to him for that sense of warmth and protection he put in her when they were younger

It took all three of their kids making a stance and leaving them for them to come back together

I know a lot of people don't like my opinions on Bill and Fleur's relationship, but I like how I wrote them. I see a lot of protentional for them as a couple that fell out of love and found their way back together. I've seen it more with Ron/Hermione, but I think it really would fit Bill and Fleur's characters more.

Ginny Headcanons for her birthday

She has always loved her birthday

Being the youngest, she gets so much attention, and even Bill and Charlie always seem to be around in her birthday

Percy always reads her “babbity rabbity and her cackling stump” for her birthday, a tradition that continues after the war

(It’s their favorite Beedle the Bard story)

She finds out she’s pregnant with James on her 22nd birthday

Okay, onward - she and Harry get married on Aug 16th…right after her 22nd birthday

Ginny is the one to name James actually, she won the right in a game of “rock, paper, scissors”

She knew that Harry wanted to name their son after his dad, and she loved the name James since she was little

But Harry wanted James’ middle name to be Albus and she wanted it to be Sirius

Sirius had been so kind to her when she got nightmares at Grimmauld Place, he would make her hot chocolate and tell her about the uncles she never met

In fact, Sirius told her a lot of stories that she was able to pass onto her brothers, Harry, and later their children

Ginny is always the storyteller

Al was born a week after Ginny’s 24th birthday

She lost the game of “rock, paper, scissors” this time around, but she never once calls him Albus, it’s always Al or Albie when he’s a baby

In fact, Ginny is the reason why Al only goes by Al when he’s older

And finally, she came up with Lily Luna’s name

Harry had been gone in a mission while she was pregnant, and Luna had been a big help to Ginny, practically moving in with her twin boys

They were always going to name their daughter after Harry’s mother, but the middle name was always up in the air

(Originally it was going to be Lily Molly, after both of her grandmothers, possibly Lily Minerva after Professor McGonagall, matching Lily Evans initials)

Lily looks the most like Ginny, but she finds more similarities between herself and her boys

James reminds her a lot of Bill and Percy, even if he does have a trouble streak, he is very loving and great leader and looks after his younger cousins/siblings very well

She finds so many similarities between Al and Fred and George. Al has the same freckles across their nose like the twins, and he Carrie’s so much on his shoulders like they did during the war, she often tells Al about how he reminds her of Fred in his teen years

Lily is all Harry and her grandmothers, she’s the parts of them that clash with Ginny, causing some friction in her teen years that they fight through

Ginny loves her kids so much, she really strived to make their home as comfortable as the Burrow and loves having their kids, their friends, and all of her nieces and nephews over for the summer holidays

She just loves a full house, it brings her back to her childhood

She quit the Harpies for her kids, but looking back on it, she knew that it was time for her to commit to her family in that time

She does keep up most of the workout schedule after she leaves, even years later when her kids are grown

She and Harry like to run together, and living out in the countryside they have plenty of privacy to just go wild

She lets Harry teach the kids how to fly and ride a bike and even how to drive (Ginny never learns how to drive a car) but Ginny teaches their kids her best moves from her playing days (all three of them play chaser like her)

Weddings & Weasleys:

Bill and Fleur:

They’re colors were gold and dark blue

Fleur’s dress was antique lace with a simple bodice and skirt

She wanted people to notice their inner beauty, not their outer beauty

Bill wanted all of his siblings to have a part of the wedding, but Fleur wanted a smaller bridal party

Charlie was always going to be Bill’s Best Man, but asking Ginny to be part of the bridal party wasn’t in the books

She is Bill’s favorite of the younger siblings though

The reception wasn’t what Fleur wanted before the Death Eaters arrived

She had really wanted to get married in France, but she resigned herself to the Burrow

Still, they were surrounded by people she loved, and one of her children would get married in France someday

Percy and Audrey:

They eloped

Percy didn’t want to be boggled down by plans, he had wanted to propose a month into their relationship

Audrey only had her little brother and she knew that he wouldn’t care if he missed her wedding

They were also pregnant

Audrey does imagine it, the dress she would’ve made for herself, the ceremony in the church she grew up going to, the reception in her parents back garden

Her mother helping her get ready, her father walking her down the aisle, both of her brothers mixed in with the other groomsmen

But it’s all wishful thinking because marrying Percy is the most happiness she gets until their girls are born

Percy remembers their wedding day whenever anything bad happens to them or their girls, because it means he has Audrey at his side

George and Angelina:

They planned it for a few months

They got married at their home, in the back garden with their families

They both were a mess during the ceremony, both crying and clinging to each other, but so so so happy

The reception was wild

Lots of alcohol and dancing, lots of joy and the toasts were ridiculous

Percy stepped in as Best Man and Alicia was Maid of Honor

Their godchildren and Victoire and Teddy were flower girls and the ring bearers

It was really cute and lovely and neither of them would’ve changed any of it

They were missing quite a few people, but they were remembered throughout the day in their friends and family
