All Purpose Cleaner
There are many ways to approach all purpose cleaners. Technically you could use just water to clean something. As long as there's no grease or dirt particles on something it is clean, but that doesn't mean we should really be comfortable with that level of clean 😂 I use vinegar most often because it's the most simple, but I have a few recipes to choose from.
Vinegar Cleaner:
This really is the most simple option, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work extremely well!
1 part Vinegar (I love infused vinegar)
1 part Water
15 drops Essential Oil (optional, if using infused vinegar you may not find this necessary)
Castile Soap Cleaner:
If you don't feel like things are clean without a bit of soap this recipe is perfect for you! It's still incredibly simple to make.
2 cup Filtered Water
2-4 tablespoons Castile Soap
15 drops of whatever essential oil (optional, if you buy a scented castile soap you might not find this necessary)
These are great cleaners for basic cleaning to get the grime off, but neither have real sanitizing power. Isopropyl alcohol (also called rubbing alcohol) is amazing for disinfecting.
Disinfecting Cleaner:
This is great for cleaning with a bit of disinfecting power, but this is also an amazing glass cleaner!
1 cup Filtered Water
1/2 cup Vinegar
1/2 cup Isopropyl Alcohol
15 drops Essential Oil (optional, if using infused vinegar you may not find this necessary)

one of the things about where are your boys tonight i really appreciated and, to me, seemed like the most significant thrust of the book (but never garnered much attention, imo), was the focus on the business side of things and particularly the way the many bands never saw long term success or stability or the way a lot of very young people were taken advantage of even after making their labels and handlers metric butt-tones of money and this really culminated with the discussion about paramores record deal and the inherently coercive nature of making a 14 year old sign a record deal (not even really mentioning that record deal was 20 fucking years lmao) and yet i still see people argue she was an industry plant or whatever. sorry ig one of my fatal flaws is i give child stars the benefit of the doubt considering the fundamental exploitation necessary for that position to exist or whatever

I just wanted to share with you all that there's this bundle sale (until Jan 8th, 2023) for plant-based lifestyle ebooks, guides, courses, and recipes. I'm not associated with it and I tend to find these things a bit gimmicky, but there are a few people who have offered up full-content products (so, it's a good sale to take up, especially if you are one of the following).
I would say it's great if you are:
a vegan athlete,
wanting guidance on eating more whole food plant based or raw vegan,
new to juicing,
needing help with meal planning,
wanting a workout plan to follow,
struggle with plant-based holiday dishes and/or plant-based recipes for your kids,
wanting to learn to grow microgreens/sprouts,
or new to veganism/plant-based living (I definitely think that's THE target audience).

I got my new car today!!! I haven’t actually driven it yet. Because new things are scary for me and it takes me a little while to get used to something like driving a new car, I wanted to drive it around my parents’ a little before going in a busy road. Rob said it has “responsive break” and i wanna get that “feel” down before I’m in heavy traffic. I like it though and am very grateful and excited!!
Being at my parents’ hasn’t been too triggering this time around. Usually there are some kind of comments about my body or what I’m eating, but we have such a short turn around this year that thankfully it hasn’t been too bad…
Did have to listen to my mom talk about this guy who has multiple myeloma (my mom has a precursor to MM) and apparently is in “full remission” using an antiviral but it came back because he got the covid vaccine…. Tried to explain why that’s probably not true actually but you know… I think she just desperately wants there to be simple/easier answers to the cancer she might develop, which I get, but I also feel like this is how misinformation takes roots.
(We don’t have a perfect system here in the US by far, but we aren’t lagging behind in the cancer treatment realm…. If antivirals worked to cure MM, there would be research on it… and people would do it… contrary to popular belief, Big Pharma isn’t pushing ineffective expensive drugs to steal your money and keep you sick…drugs are ridiculously expensive, but it’s not malicious… insurance companies are far more malicious for refusing coverage than the pharma companies imo)
Also listening to some people talk about pot shop workers (specifically managerial roles) not deserving to be paid a certain amount, all the gender critical bs, like yall, I don’t like government regulations in general and I have my views on how we attempt legislating morality and why it doesn’t work, but like…… when you use that argument to justify why people who “don’t have any education and just know drugs” (not a real quote just a paraphase) don’t deserve to be paid a certain amount, AND you don’t use it to say that like, gov shouldn’t restrict access to health care like abortions and gender affirming care… that’s not “government shouldn’t legislate morality,” that’s “government should legislate the morality I agree with” which is… the same thing you’re complaining about the “other side” doing.
Especially the gender stuff. It takes very little actual energy to use somebody’s preferred, correct pronouns. Affirming care literally saves lives. When you spend a lot of energy and time lobbying against these things, it really just tells me how uncomfortable you are with the idea that somebody could have a different life experience than you. The only person who should be spending that much time and energy caring about those things… should be the person themselves. Partners or family ofc should care too, but in a “how do we support this person so they can live a fulfilling life” way, not in a “i can’t handle anybody having a different lived experience than me” kind of way.
And also if you’re gonna complain about federal spending and budgets, can you at least acknowledge the ridiculous defense budget? Even if your viewpoint is “I don’t know how we can realistically and safely scale that back,” just like… recognize how little the government actually spends on programs like VA health care in relation to the massive defense budget. We rank third in the world for per capita military spending… I’m not saying you need answers on how to solve anything, but if you’re gonna criticize the drops in the bucket, acknowledging that they are in fact drops in the bucket comparatively would be nice.

Homemade Flour Tortillas!
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup lard, butter, shortening, or oil, room temp
1 cup warm water, approx. 110F
Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
Using a pastry cutter, fork, or your fingers, break the butter up into the flour mixture until it resembles wet sand, well incorporated.
Add the hot water to the bowl, and gently fold the mixture until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix or overknead, as this will cause the tortillas to be tough.
Once a soft dough ball forms, cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and allow the dough to rest for 20-30 minutes. Do not skip the resting! It is important to let the flour hydrate and gluten relax for a soft tortilla.
Once rested, cut the dough into 8 equally sized pieces. If the dough is too sticky to handle, work on a floured surface. Gently form small dough balls with your hands, and flatten them slightly to make disks. Lightly coat with oil, and cover with a kitchen towel or loose plastic wrap and let rest for another 15 minutes.
Preheat a skillet or dry pan on medium heat. Working with one dough ball at a time, flatten the dough with your hands, a rolling pin, or a heavy book and parchment paper until the tortilla is as close to 8 inches in diameter as you can get, pretty thin.
Cook the tortilla for about 30-45 seconds on each side, or until yellow gold spots start to form. If you're using the tortillas right away and won't be reheating them on the stove later, cook until golden brown spots form.
Place the tortillas in a folded kitchen towel to cool, allowing them to reach room temperature slowly and retain moisture. Store the tortillas in a sealed container, ziplock, or tightly wrapped plastic wrap for about 5 days, if they even last that long!

There's this terrible existential loneliness and depression that begins to enter human life that is a sickness. And it comes from the loss of the capacity to feel the touch of the natural world upon us. And so, that's really in my opinion, the greatest dangerous that we face and also the root of the majority of problems that we have is, [if] people in this culture had that feeling, it would be much harder for them to clear cut a forest, to hunt a species to extinction, to pollute the atmosphere. You have to be...or as James Hillman once put it, 'Only when science convinced us that the world was dead could they begin their autopsy in earnest.' And as soon as you hear that, there's this kind of grief that begins to emerge inside because it tells us something really important about a bad choice, or as Gregory Bateman once put it, 'an epistemological mistake.'

Infused Vinegar
Vinegar is one of the best all purpose cleaners in my opinion. I use it all over my house. I'm used to the smell after years of using it for cleaning as well as canning, but I know a lot of people really hate it. You could add essential oils to your cleaning products...or you could make infused vinegar! Infused vinegar is so insanely simple to make as well as cheaper and more sustainable than essential oils. Now don't get me wrong, I love using essential oils, but one bottle takes pounds of plant matter to make. With infused vinegar you can simply add your orange peels to a mason jar after a snack, costing you no extra money and reducing waste.
Orange peels are most commonly used since oranges are popular snacks, but you can use any citrus peels, herbs, or even pine needles! All you have to do is fill a mason jar with your dry matter (Peels, herbs, etc) and then fill the jar with 5% acidity white distilled vinegar and let it infuse in a cool, dark place for 2 weeks. I usually use a quart jar, but if you're not sure you'll like it you could use a pint. Alternatively, if you know you'll go through a ton of infused vinegar, you could make it in a half gallon jar.

would I be a vegan if it was sustainable and easier ? Maybe but currently I'm not and also don't care for many of their often guilt tripping and unreasonable ideologies surrounding food and animal husbandry.
