“Because of our faith, we know that the world was made at God's command. We also know that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen.” —Hebrews 11:3 (CEV)
“Creation Or Evolution” By Bryant Wright: (Right From The Heart 1-Minute Devotions):
“There's a lot of discussion today about creation and evolution. It's really very important, for understanding our origin is central to understanding who we are, why we're here, and what we're supposed to do on this planet.
Creation is based on the idea that we're here by intelligent design, and evolution is based on the idea that we're here by chance. Which makes the most sense? If I were to tell you that your personal computer actually evolved by chance from an explosion in a factory that makes radios, you'd laugh in my face. Yet, is the computer more complex than a human mind? It's amazing to me that intelligent people know computers are made by intelligent design, yet when it comes to life and earth's design they choose to believe "well, it just evolved by chance." I just don't have enough faith to believe that. Science helps us fill in some of the details of creation, but God is the intelligent designer behind it all.”

By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. - Hebrews 11:3
Insight
God called the universe into existence out of nothing; he declared that it was to be, and it was. Our faith is in the God who created the entire universe by his word. God's word has awesome power.
Challenge
When he speaks, do you listen and respond? How can you better prepare yourself to respond to God's word?

THE INVISIBLE ABOVE THE VISIBLE
Image by charlotte_202003 from Pixabay Hebrews 11:3 (KJV) – “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” The invisible word of God created the visible universe and everything in it. What we can see was brought into existence by what we can’t see. The question is, which is more powerful? Is it…

How Do We Understand Creation?
How Do We Understand Creation?
By Adrian Rogers PRAY OVER THIS: “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”  Hebrews 11:3 PONDER THIS: Every three or four months there is some new article in the newspaper about the origin of the Universe. Every now and then a scientist will say some good words about God. That doesn’t give…

"YES, GOD CAN STILL USE YOU!"
Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above – spiritually transformed, renewed, READY TO BE USED] for good words, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” (AMP) When David first arrived at…

one thing I do truly love about the Mountain Goats is that I've seen them 5 times and every single show after the first has had a (semi-) deep cut or two or three that has completely etched the show into my brain

"I'm Not Good Enough" is Only One of the Lies
“I’m not good enough” is only one of the lies we tell ourselves. Moreover, this is what I told myself most of my life along with other lies like “You’re not good enough”, “You’ll never amount to anything”, “You’re too fat”, “You’re not pretty enough”, and the like. What Lies Do You Tell Yourself? I guess the point that I’m trying to make is that these are lies. So, why did I continue to believe…

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16
“In all circumstances part 1: trust in God's character” By Antique Candle Co.:
“Why is it that we most often seek the Lord during the valleys of life? We know from His Word that He wants us to seek Him in every season. During the peaks, with moments of great joy and celebration; during the valleys, in times of worry and uncertainty. Not only does He desire His children to seek Him out, but He calls us to be faithful in all circumstances.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding...” —Proverbs 3:5
Trusting in the Lord's character allows us to find hope in every situation. It's not just about trusting God to get us through the difficult moments, but fully trusting in who He is, which extends to every moment of life.
So what is God's character? Many things. God cannot be compared to anything else in all creation. He created all things. Therefore, there are some attributes of Christ we can and cannot understand. We can't understand being 'unchanging' or 'all-knowing' ourselves because, as we are finite beings, we are neither. However, His Word tells us these truths about Him so that we may trust the characteristics that are unique to God alone. We can see and acknowledge the truth of His character in the Word and in our own lives.
GOD IS UNCHANGING:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” —Hebrews 13:8
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” —James 1:17
GOD IS FAITHFUL:
“...if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” —2 Timothy 2:13
“The Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations.” —Psalm 100:5
GOD IS ALL-KNOWING:
“He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge—the Lord—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.” —Psalm 94:9
GOD IS SOVEREIGN:
“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” —Romans 11:36
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.” —Ephesians 1:7-8
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” —Romans 8:28
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” —Matthew 24:14
Place your trust in a God who is unchanging, faithful, all-knowing, sovereign, and so much more. In all circumstances, His character is something that will never fail.”

Life in Short Bursts
I am in that season of life when stamina is not what it once was. Strength is less than it once was. Muscle tone is a daily battle that, if not fought and won, daily, is lost easily with further diminishment of strength and stamina. So I am learning to live life in short bursts, and I am learning that it is amazing what can be accomplished in those bursts. I don’t know who said it. I can’t…

Devotional for February 16th
Be not slothful In business. - Romans 12:11
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. - Hebrews 12:3
Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees. - Hebrews 12:12
Slothfulness and weariness are sure to smuggle themselves in, when you become secure in grace and when, after having received the forgiveness of sins, you do not make war against evil habits, but make peace with one or another bosom-sin and in a subtle manner cling to it; when you, while enjoying the goodness of the Lord, believe that it is not necessary to be on your guard against your old enemies; that the wicked one can now no more cause you any injury, and that you can no more be lost, because you are in the bosom of God. Only too soon comes the old habit and inclination, the sin that still clings to us, into view. Grace diminishes because we do not "hold it fast, and because we are not zealous but lukewarm in the service of the Lord. Then we feel faint and permit "the hands" to ’’hang down" and we spare "the feeble knees. " Not so, beloved! Follow the Apostle’s admonition. Take courage and lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, that ye may raise your hands to heaven and make your footsteps sure. The God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory, shall prepare, establish, strengthen, settle you.
Ye servants of the Lord, Each in His office wait, Observant of His heavenly Word, And watchful at His gate.
