In this week's Lore Olympus, things are going from really fucking bad to NOPE.

Fresh from watching Hades get yoinked away by a possessed Morpheus, Persephone goes on the air to announce his disappearance.

Apollo's televised accusations for the Mortal Realm crisis already put Persephone in a terrible light. This announcement certainly doesn't help the situation, but at least Persephone is being upfront about it.

We get to see a rare, real moment of Apollo being unsure of what to do. He puffs himself and staggers now that he has the upper hand, but that's all for naught without the support of the other gods.

What is this pink thing Ouranos gives him? I have a theory....

Eons ago, Ouranos weaponized his fertility goddess wife's powers for his own ends. While she may have pretty much been burnt out and used up, who is to say that there wasn't the tiniest bit leftover? I suspect that this is the pink thing that he hands to Apollo.

The way he states that it won't work by itself further enhances that theory. Persephone's fertility goddess powers are on the fritz. Using the blob would act kind of like.... jump starting a dead car battery? (Does that make sense?)

Apollo announces he has the solution for the Mortal Realm crisis and reaches out to Persephone. Of course, he's a full-blown cocky jerk about it, but did we expect anything less?

I appreciate Persephone's retort. I think ALL of us would love to see her use her death powers on him. Even if it didn't kill him, I imagine it would hurt a lot. (And we'd all be cheering for that!)

Even with Hades kidnapped, Persephone has folks looking out for her safety. She doesn't want to be the damsel in distress forever, and that's part of why she's putting on a brave face and going to Asspollo Apollo's meeting.

A part of her feels the need to face her fear of him. It's dangerous, and anyone who has been paying attention and is in the know of Persephone's SA knows this is physically, mentally, and emotionally dangerous.

But Persephone is not alone. Very happy to see that not only is Hecate offering help, but Ares as well.

I know Ares is talking about Hera here, but I feel he speaks for all of us reading. Just saying....

This makes me suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper uncomfortable. The look in his eyes and the fact that he's physically touching her (IDGAF that he asked this time!) sets off every alarm bell and then some.

As I mentioned earlier, I think it's the dead car battery scenario.

In reverse of a metaphor i used in previous posts, Persephone is the DEVICE that does the thing, but needs the power. The pink blob (through Apollo) is the BATTERY.

Looks like it's making her Spring powers work, but for how long? And if it's only while Apollo holds her hand, he's likely to use that as an excuse to force marriage on her.

Maybe the pink blob will stop working at the worst possible time for Apollo, and his bullshit will get exposed? We can only hope.

Im not sure why I’m so drawn to this one, maybe it’s the simplicity? the browns? Who knows! But to me it’s a good casual look.

Artemis seems to fluctuate between casual, sporty, and Greek god formal, so there’s not many outfits I personally vibe with. But this dress is an absolute exception. It’s cute, it’s sparkly, what’s not to love?

10. Episode 72: Hecate’s Full Length Black Nightgown:

A lot of Hecates attire is a high class business suits that I can always appreciate but THIS. Look I’m not sure why this works so well but it absolutely does it. The sleeves, the length. It’s just so dramatic, dark, and elegant and suits a character like Hecate.

Do I know that the og post about my LO rewrite didn’t get much traction?yes.

Do I still want to talk about it?absolutely.

So here’s Demeter,Hecate,and Hermes.

Also the au is now named “Persie’s little punishment”

Demeter:

Last post I said that perse and Plutus were twins.that has changed and plutus is now older than Persephone,with her having a somewhat re-written version of her original birth.

Long story short:

Asphodels(along with other flowers associated with death) cannot make flowers nymphs,however,one day Demeter realized that there was some life inside of the asphodels(to be exact,a 1000th of life),sitting lightly and waiting to be harvested.

For years she carefully replanted the asphodels in her garden,until she finally had all 1000 of the special asphodels,doing a ritual to create a flower nymph out of these to finally create the life inside the flowers.

But this wasn’t a flower nymph,no,it was a goddess.

And that’s how Persephone,goddess of the flora,was made!

As said last post,her flower symbolism is the day lily,because of their association and also because I saw on Wikipedia that they were linked with asphodels.

She raised Persephone to be as hard working as Can be,to the point where by the time of the AoW she’s basically as much of a businesswoman as her mother.

She doesn’t know about the AoW,or the community service due to Erie snatching the letter where perse explained everything.

The pin she gave Persephone was NOT worthless(at least not to perse).

Almost never goes to Olympus due to all the crap that happens up there.

A year after perse first joins the underworld staff for the community service,Demeter storms through the door,demanding to see her daughter.

After a quick explanation,perse realizes that that due to eating six pomegranate seeds,she needs to stay there half the year,leading to the agreement with hades and Demeter.(she would have done something like this either way due to the fact shes basically become a pillar of the underworld during her time there,even though the other pillars could hold their own)

It’s an easy agreement,during the summer there are almost no deaths compared to winter,where they have perse to help.

And so become the seasons,with Persephone and hades marrying,Demeter getting to see her daughter half the year,and underworld corp. having perse,hades opening up to his family after leuce,and everyone having a good agreement,it’s a win win.

Hécate:

Perse best friend in the underworld.

Doesn’t really do much in the underworld other than hang around and occasionally help with stuff.

The only person who wasn’t at least skeptical of perse when she first joined.

Can sense Peres’s connection to asphodels.

In this au,Elysium already exist and perse creates asphodel instead.

She,Thanatos,and Hermes are the main people helping.

Their plan ends up succeeding and asphodel is now an oficial part of the underworld,Persephone actually saying that it was hades idea instead of hers,and he was just too busy to help them.

Then queue perse and hades fighting on who should get the most credit:hades wants Persephone to take all of it while she wants hades to have a better rep amongst shades.

Hécate is much,much,much older than both hades and Persephone.(if only she acted it)

she ends up as one of the most hardworking employees due to Persephone’s influence,using her magic to fasten everything.

Her flowers are cow parsley.

Hermes:

He was originally hired to pick up any slack the keres and Thanatos left,but Hermes being Hermes ended up the most productive of the death guys/gals.

Idk what his flower is gonna be.

The only one who can keep up with the work ethic Hermes set is perse,so they become friends.

He’s pretty overworked and gets burned out fairly often,and in those cases he goes to the underworld because he knows people in Olympus won’t notice/care.

Has a somewhat strained relationship with hades after the death of leuce.

His family at Olympus don’t respect his job as a psychopomp.

May or may not have a little thing for Thanatos.

Gets injured on the job pretty often but knows how to lie the pain away,otherwise his productivity would be cut in half and people would be mad their stuff wouldn’t be delivered right away,so he just ignores how much some injuries hurt so that he can do his job.(the only one who actually notices is Demeter because she’s amazing,routinely pointing out the injuries on his body,but he always manages to slip away before she can question him too much)

On the note of Olympus,I feel like it’s a very “everyone is disfuncional in their own right” thing.idk I’ll elaborate more on it if I make a post on the rest of the olympians.

Content warning for psychological distress on this week's Lore Olympus is real. Don't say you weren't warned.

Last week saw Apollo nigh-forcefully working with Persephone to fix the Mortal Realm crisis. With whatever it was Ouranos gave him, it did what it needed to do. At least, for a little bit.

Not only is the bastard clearly and knowingly making the experience miserable for Persephone, but also his plastic smile looks more fake than usual.

Is that ichor leaking out of his eyes? I hope he's in extreme pain from this little show of his. Fucker deserves all the agent he's put others through.

Next, the douche-canoe goes on a shpeal about how Ouranos "helped" Gaia control her powers. She never needed help with her powers. All that Ouranos did was use them for his own gain.

Everything Apollo says about Gaia needing "fixing" is a lie. Further, he blames her marriage to Hades for causing the extreme winter.

He uses it, as predicted, to lead into ordering Persephone to marry him. That gets him numerous ABSOLUTELY NOTs from across the board.

I can't even begin to imagine how horrifying this is for Persephone. This purple Olympian shit stain is desperate to get at her powers. He thinks he's king and can bully everyone just because Zeus is out cold and he's king's son.

I do wish Artemis would show up at some point. Technically, she's got just as much claim to the thrown as her brother, plus the benefit of common sense and decency.

THE QUEEN SPEAKS!

Welcome to the latest shit-show, Hera! She comes out spouting just about everything the other Olympians and the readers have been thinking and feeling.

I particularly love her emphasis that Persephone "so obviously despises" Apollo.

Oh, this was the cherry & icing on the cake!

With the camera still rolling, she outs Apollo for manipulating Hebe into running away. With her piece spoken, she moves onto the next matter at hand.

DAT EPIC MIC DROP THO!!!!!!

Hera intends to fix several things at once by doing what is possibly the most dangerous thing.

Kronos has stated that he won't cooperate unless he's given his "Golden Traitor" back. Hera knows it's dangerous. Her vision from a few chapters back showed her likely getting either killed or completely wrecked in a direct confrontation with Kronos.

And yet, she's willing to take that risk, not just for herself, but others as well. Persephone has been kind to her in multiple ways; the least she can do is give something back.

Maybe they'll save Hades. Maybe they'll save Melinöe. Maybe they'll kick Kronos' ass. Maybe they'll get Persephone's spring powers back. Maybe they'll even find the cure for Zeus. There's so much that can come out of this that the extreme danger feels worth the risk.

We shall see.
