Bones and flowers!
Part 2: I am dreaming?
(Part 1 // Part 3)
Warnings: Bad language, alcohol, mention of drugs.
I am going to give a somewhat strong background to the reader, I will not make spoilers, but of course this will affect the story a lot.
Summary: Everything it's weird, you don't know what to do, or where to go. Maybe it's not that bad staying there for a while?
Tumblr media
I followed that stranger, who had a surprising ability to non-stop talking about how wonderful that place was. He was right, that place was incredible.
I was so distracted seeing absolutely everything that I didn't realize that I had returned to the place where I had originally run from. A chill runs through my entire body and I took a step back. Perhaps it was time to escape from there again. Heimdall turned around and looked at me with a slight smile. I kept backing up until I turned to run and a flock of crows appeared in front of me.
— What the fuck?! — I yelled as I saw an older man with an eyepatch appear out of nowhere. The man seemed like a great sage, but he did not inspire confidence in me. Behind me, Heimdall was kneeling before that old man.
— All-father, the mortal was trying to escape. I have brought her back. — I didn't understand anything, who was that man? He was the father of the stranger? Either I was too bad at math, or the math didn't add up. Heimdall, he was about 25, and to that man it looked like he was going to be buried tomorrow.
The man approached me until he put his hand on my shoulder. To which I moved to the right and moved away, each time everything seemed more absurd.
— You don't have to be afraid, Y/N, you asked us for help. Remember? — The man spoke in a serene tone. I started to shake my head quickly and replied:
— No, I have not asked anyone for help. —
— We will talk about this elsewhere. — He put his hand on my shoulder, but this time when I was about to move away, I was surrounded by a flock of crows. Scared I closed my eyes and when I opened them again I was in some kind of office room.
— You're a witch, Y/N — I couldn't help but laugh at the stupid comment he had said. I believe in magic and all that, but calling me a witch is a bit of an exaggeration.
— I'm not a witch, I don't know what you're talking about. — The man didn't seem like he was so quick to give up, though. — Seriously, I have an exam tomorrow, I have to go home. —
Odin shrugged his arms, as if this were not with him.
— The thing is, you can't go back home. I don't even know how you got here and I don't know how to get you back home.— I felt a twinge in my chest, this couldn't be happening. I have never been an aggressive person, maybe a bit, but I had always opted for the diplomatic route.
I ran over to the desk and grabbed the first sharp thing I saw. I was so scared that I didn't even think about the consequences, I jumped at the man and he didn't even move. Instead someone grabbed my arm hard, it was Heimdall again. I could have sworn that the two of us were alone in that room, something was wrong. In fact everything was wrong.
Heimdall was squeezing my arm very hard, I let out a couple of groans of pain and then the old man came over and said:
— We just need you to give us some information, and in return, I'll help you. — That sounded stupid as fuck, instead of crying, or being angry, I started to laugh.
I breathed hard to calm my nerves, how come I hadn't thought of that before? This place, all of this had to be a nightmare.
— You're even more of an idiot than I thought. — I heard how Heimdall mumbled in my ear, Odin was ordering some papers on his table.
— We'll talk later, now I have work to do. — Odin said, Heimdall let go of my arm and looked at me with a stupid smile, what the hell was wrong with him? I still hadn't had time to do anything to make him hate me and he was already doing it.
— That's all? — I muttered before leaving, getting out wasn't hard, finding a big dining room and grabbing some food wasn't hard either. I had always been told that I had a great cadence when it came to feeling ashamed.
After getting a beer I leaned my back against the wall. If it was a dream it was lasting too long. He had to decide what to do, he didn't know who Odin was, but of course nobody reacts in such a calm way when they try to hit him.
Should I run and not look back? No way, that pigtailed weirdo would drag me back here and say some stupid comment. Help and play along with the old man? God knows what he wanted from me and I didn't feel like finding out. Although how many more laps did he give it, this seemed the only viable solution.
I looked at the ceiling in despair, this was all bullshit, I guess another one for the damn collection. So much thinking had made me finish my beer. Damn, how I needed a drink of something other than beer.
Maybe vodka and a joint, oh shit, what I would have given to have some vodka, I loved vodka, especially the red one, it tasted like a lollipop.
That's when I realized I had one of the worst habits in the world that would come in handy for once. I always sleep with my clothes on, in my jacket there should be something, anything.
I ran to the table and took out everything that was in my pockets, fucking tears came to my eyes. He had a flask, mouthpieces, grass, and a lighter. It almost seemed like the world adored me, despite everything.
I put everything back running, except the flask, I took a good drink and immediately I noticed the taste of the lollipop burning my throat. I practically walked out of there jumping for joy.
It was getting dark, but that didn't stop me from finding the coast, taking off my shoes and feeling the sand on my feet. I sat on the shore, letting my feet soak in the water.
It had been a while since she was this calm. Maybe this place wasn't so bad.

The Unsealed Skies (3)
Tumblr media
Warnings: Avengers spoilers, cursing, and mentions of infidelity.
“What the hell is he doing back here?” Sonny demanded, gesturing at Loki who was standing in Olivia’s office.  “Is he back for another shot at destroying the planet?”
“Forget him,” Fin ordered gruffly.  “I’m more worried about Ares.”
Sonny threw his hand up in the air, “I wish I could forget about the god that tried to take over our planet but it’s just not that easy.”
“(Name) is keeping him in check.  Ares is the wildcard that has her worried.”
“Three years!  Three years you’ve worked alongside me and you never told me that you’re an Asgardian!”
“That would defeat the purpose of me hiding, John.”
“You can make it up to me by telling me the truth about Bigfoot.”
“Bigfoot is not a yeti.  He was a Frost Giant that stumbled into your world and the only reason that there was minimal damage was due to Loki’s quick thinking.   He cast an illusion but it was less effective because too many people had already seen the giant.  Luckily over time, the legend became distorted.”
“What about the Loch Ness monster?”
“She’s not one of ours.  She belongs to a different pantheon of gods and the locals all adore her.”
“The Moon landing?”
“Not faked.  Though mother wonders why humanity is spending so much time focusing on the Heavens when the planet constantly is teetering on the brink of chaos.”
“I thought you didn’t have any contact with your family because you were in hiding?”  Sonny questioned with a disgusted look in Loki’s direction and crossing his arms.
“Mother was raised by witches.  As such, she used her magic to visit me in my dreams because she knew that would not raise suspicion.”
“Why exactly did you leave your life behind?”  Fin asked dubiously, “You had a life of luxury because you were an Asgardian princess.”
You sighed, “As the second born child of Frigga and Odin, I knew the expectations that were placed on me.  From a young age, I was schooled in diplomacy, royal customs, etiquette, and politics for all of the Nine Realms.  My education also included mastering different types of weaponry in a range of situations.  When I was informed that I was to marry the Greek equivalent of my younger brother, Thor, I accepted it for I knew nothing else.  Our engagement had almost become a marriage when I was treated to the sight of my fiancé with another goddess that belonged to the same pantheon he did.  In the moment I caught them, my fiancé assured me that this would be a repeat occurrence and so, I apologised to the King and Queen of Olympus because I could not marry their son and I returned to Asgard.  There I sought assistance from my mother and the gatekeeper, Heimdall.”
“She still is an Asgardian princess.  By Asgardian law, the marriage is null and void however, I doubt that the Greek pantheon shares that law.”  Loki remarked stiffly.  He had been so quiet in his approach that none of you had noticed that he had left Liv’s office.
“Your time on the run was for nothing?”  Fin demanded.  “You’ll still have to marry Ares with the knowledge that he plans to cheat?  So far, I’m not liking the Greeks.”

All The Lessons I Never Learned
3. News
Synopsis: Loki finds out why he came home and reconnects with his family.
Word count: 1,997
Stand Alone?: Nope!
Warnings: medical/sickness mentions
Notes: Thor's dialogue is surprisingly tough to write! I ended up going for more of a generic preschooler/toddler cadence for him, but that may change and evolve throughout the story.
Read on AO3!

Loki popped his back as he got up and stretched before taking a short shower, cleaning himself up, and meeting his family for breakfast, keeping a similar cadence to the routine he used with work.
He was apparently up a little bit early, so he used the time to finally send those reports and emails that he had drafted on the plane.
There was a personal chef working in the kitchen. Someone else Loki didn’t recognize. But he didn’t acknowledge them until they set a plate of American french toast in front of him, and he responded with a “Thank you”.
He was about to ask where everyone was before he heard a scream from upstairs.
He looked up and seemed ready to rush to the source of the noise, but the server reassured him that it was just Thor, and the rest of the family would be down in a second.
This assumption was absolutely correct and Frigga soon brought Thor down the stairs.
Well, more accurately, Thor brought Frigga down the stairs.
He almost ran, grinning, down to the breakfast table with his mother trailing behind. That scream had apparently been a squeal of delight.
“Hello Loki!” he yelled, sitting on his knees in his chair. Not a highchair, just a normal one, because he wasn’t a baby, Thor informed him, even though he still wore a bib to eat and Frigga cut up and fed him his breakfast.
“He’s very excited that you came to visit. He’s been getting to be such a big boy.”
Thor nodded enthusiastically to agree with her point. “Mhm! Big kid.”
“We’ve been even working on potty training lately. It’s been a big step for him. And he doesn’t even need the crib bars on his bed anymore.”
“Yeah! N’ daddy draws wit me and is real cool,” he said through a mouth of food.
“Odin’s been doing some of his spreadsheets by hand and letting Thor draw in his office with him, and the barnehage he’s been going to’s been pretty wonderful, too. He’s made lots of friends. Even got himself a little girlfriend, huh?”
Thor giggled at the thought and looked away.
“A lady-love.” Loki raised his eyebrows. “Does she have a name?”
“Sif!” Thor replied.
“What does he learn about at the barnehage?” Loki also ventured to ask.
“Ask him,” Frigga prompted.
Thor did not wait for Loki to rephrase the question. “Clean, n’ paint, n’ sew. Thewe’s bugs n’ animas n’ stuff. Mr. Heimdall let me getted sticks for the natuwe table!”
“That sounds like a lot of fun,” Loki nodded as he cut up another piece of toast for himself.
Thor reached over and grabbed a strawberry off his plate.
“Hey!” Loki said in mock annoyance.
Thor grinned after shoving the fruit into his mouth.
Loki, in response, took one off his plate.
Frigga made sure, very quickly, to intervene so that Thor did not get upset by this. “Are you sharing your fruit like a good boy?”
Thor paused to consider this possibility. “Yah!”
During the brief pause, Loki really looked at his mother. It was the first time he’d seen her in years without any makeup and in person. She looked so different than how he remembered her. So much older; deteriorating. She looked, not just old, but unwell.
He swallowed the bite of food in his mouth and excused himself from the table, but not before she grabbed his arm.
“Loki, would you care to join me for a swim in twenty minutes?”
Anxiously, Loki nodded, unsure of what that meant at all before retreating up to his room.
As he passed the other rooms on the second floor, he looked inside Thor’s, as the door was ajar. So, he rationed, it wasn’t really an invasion of privacy.
It was fairly small, and housed a toddler-styled bed with detachable rails, a cushy rocking chair, a large play rug, a bookshelf, a nightstand and dresser, and a small basket of stuffed toys. The walls were a creamy eggshell color and not as cold as the rest of the home, and the windows were fitted with navy blue curtains that blocked out light. All in all, the room was mellow, it felt quiet, and strings of fairy lights twisted around the crowning perimeter of the ceiling as well as the picture-book-display bookshelf. Loki also made sure to note the emphasis on theming, as colorful planets, stars, and solar system models decorated the space.
Tumblr media
“This’s my room!” Thor suddenly said.
Loki jumped nearly a foot in the air, surprised by the sudden presence behind him.
“Come see!” the little encouraged him, beckoning him in.
There were a couple features Loki hadn’t previously seen like a magnetic mood chart where tantrums were tracked and apparently bathroom habits, too, as well as a large closet filled with clothes, a small basket of changing supplies tucked into a corner, and a few pacifiers.
To Loki, it all felt so… modest. There were hardly any toys except a couple stuffed animals on the bed and in the bin next to it, most of the room was almost blank, and it seemed to be almost exclusively a spot for sleep.
“It’s very nice,” Loki said, when Thor proudly turned back to him after giving him a quick, excitable, and slightly slurred tour.
“Yah. Go see paywoom?” he asked.
“Oh, I’d love to, but mother said she wanted to talk with me by the pool. I suppose I should take you to daddy, then?”
Thor’s smile faded a little bit.
“I will try to be right back, though. It’ll be less than an hour.” Upon saying this, Loki realized that his brother probably didn’t quite understand the concept of what an hour meant. “Can you show me daddy’s office? Has that changed at all since I moved out?”
Thor nodded and in one hand, he took Loki’s wrist while he set the side of his index finger in his mouth, anxiously chewing on it while hanging onto his brother tightly as if Loki would just slip away into thin air.
Thor insisted on twisting the doorknob of his father’s office open himself.
“Daddy!” he yelled when he saw him sitting in the big office chair, running up to give him a big hug as if they hadn’t seen each other in years.
Loki probably should’ve done the same as he actually hadn’t seen his father in years.
“There are the princes!” Odin joked as he pet the little’s hair and gave Loki a smile. “How have you been? How are the states?”
Loki wasn’t quite sure how to react to this amount of positive attention from his father after so long. “Um, It’s well. It’s good. Uh, listen, I’m sorry to interrupt your work, but mother said she wanted to meet with me and I couldn’t leave Thor alone. Is it alright if I leave him with you? Then maybe we can catch up afterwards? I’m already a bit late.”
Odin nodded sagely, seeming to know exactly what the conversation was. “We have all the time in the world. Do what you need to do. I am positive I can take care of my own wonderful son for a while. My lovely son, who should not be chewing on his hand.” That last statement was directed at Thor and followed by a chuckle as Odin found a pacifier in his desk drawer and set it in the mouth of the little, who grinned before looking for the bin of quiet toys Odin kept in his office for times just like these.
Loki couldn’t help but watch instead of making his exit like he had planned to.
“Your mother’s trying to wean him off the things but they definitely keep him quiet and happy. They’re a godsend,” he whispered to Loki, noticing his grown son’s fascination with whatever Thor was doing.
Loki paused. What an odd thing to tell him. Why was he getting this information? Well, his parents were old. Oversharing these details and keeping others strangely cryptid seemed to be pretty typical, from what he overheard from his coworkers.
He was reminded of his duties, breaking the trance, and left back to the guest room where he threw on his swim trunks and grabbed a-- what a surprise-- white (like everything else in the home) towel from one of the seemingly hundreds of linen closets before heading downstairs to join his mother in the gym and pool on the ground floor.
It was a morning routine for her. She had messaged him about when she picked it up a few years back. It kept her fit, was good for the arthritis, and it was wonderful since it also let her justify having a pool, she had laughed when she told him.
Loki set his feet in the water, sitting on the tiled ledge as he awaited whatever conversation it was that she wanted to have with him.
“So…?” he asked when she didn’t say a word after a few minutes.
His voice echoed in the large, mostly empty room.
Then softer, he asked, “why did I need to get on the soonest flight here? I love visiting, but what was so urgent that I needed to come now?”
“Loki, do you know how old I am?” she asked.
Loki hadn’t expected this question, and shook his head.
“I’m sixty-eight. Your father, do you know how old he is?”
Once again, Loki shook his head.
“He’s eighty.”
“That’s quite the gap,” Loki said, not thinking of the serious tone in which she spoke.
“It is.” She moved on. “Loki, your father does not have any plans to retire right now. He wants to keep working till he passes.”
Loki nodded, showing that he understood and silently wishing she’d just get on with it.
“You are thirty, right?”
“Twenty-nine, actually.”
“Okay, twenty-nine. You have money, no wife-- or husband--, or kids. You have energy. You’re young.”
“I’m not taking over the company for him.”
“I’m not asking you to, darling. I’m asking you to take Thor.”
That sentence hit Loki harder than a train. He opened his mouth but no words came out. Maybe it was a translation error. Did he really hear her right?
“Loki, we’re getting old. I’m not doing very well. You’re father’s still trying to hold a job, we cannot take care of a six-foot-tall preschooler for the rest of our lives, no matter how much I wish that we could.”
“Not doing very well?” Loki repeated. “Mother, are you ill?”
“It’s nothing you don’t know about. The doctor told me a few months ago that the osteoporosis is getting worse and my medications aren’t doing much to slow it. I’ll be needing a wheelchair pretty soon here. He gave me six months till then.”
“So hire a nanny.”
“No. Thor is your brother. I want family to take care of him. I want him to be safe and know he’s loved by someone who has known him since he was small. Odin and I have already discussed it: We will pay for whatever you need to take care of him, even a bigger apartment if necessary, just as long as you take custody of him.”
“And what if I don’t?”
“I… I don’t know, Loki.”
She sounded absolutely heartbroken with that final sentence, and Loki could almost audibly hear the pain and fear she felt. He knew what intentional manipulation looked like, the greasy stain that it left on your heart, what it felt like, and he knew, with absolute certainty, that this wasn’t a trick. She wasn’t trying to pawn Thor off on him on a whim or guilt him into some selfish ploy. She genuinely meant every word of what she said and wanted what was best for her sons.
Loki paused.
“Give me till dinner,” he said. “I’ll tell you my decision, then.”

When two people "connect" the bond between them can be so pure and simple as to stir hearts in heaven.
When they connect in all the right places at all the wrong times, heaven weeps for broken hearts. To heal these broken hearts, heaven breaks time.
—Blithe Spiritus
Loki took one last look through the rearview mirror at the cottage on the edge of the cliff, which was getting smaller and smaller as he drove away.
Shifting his gaze forward, his face slid to the crate on the passenger seat, where Croki, his pet alligator, was sitting.
"I hope you will like your new home..." Loki sighed.
Then suddenly, he braked abruptly, holding back the cage with one hand as it slid forward. Then he backed the car up.
"Shit. I'm sorry Croc'"
He walked over to the mailbox. He put his hand through the window, opened the mailbox and put an envelope inside. Then his long fingers pulled the red flag in a vertical position, to indicate that there was mail. All this under the eyes of Croki who followed with attention all his gestures.
He tapped the top of the cage, "Come on, this time we're off for good."
He rolled, speeding up, refusing to look at the sign for the tiny village his home was in, New Asgard.  Loki rolled east, the cliff behind him, then passed a sign: New York, 35 miles.
The traffic became heavier as he approached the city.
After maneuvering through the various streets and making his way through the New York traffic, he stopped in front of an apartment building on a busy street. It was a very recent building, cold and sterile. The contrast with the tranquility of New-Asgard was striking.
He parked, got out of the car and took a moment to absorb the change in his surroundings. Then with a sigh, he began to unload his things.
**********
Loki stopped at the steps in front of the entrance to the imposing establishment - September High-School. He inhaled deeply to give himself courage before moving forward, climbing the few steps and pushing open the heavy door. He entered and walked to what appeared to be the front desk where a busy looking secretary was standing.
Loki asked softly, "Excuse me?"
"Just a minute, okay?"
Loki waited a minute, politely, then tried to get the secretary's attention again.
"Ahem... Excuse me, I need to..."
She handed him a stack of paper, while saying, without looking at him, "Just fill this out and wait for me there, okay?"
Loki handed it back to her.
"No, I'm Loki Laufeyson. I'm a new teacher. I was told to report here."
The secretary looked sheepish, "Oh, I'm sorry, Professor. You need to find Principal Romanov. She should be around here. A woman with red hair, dressed in black, you can't miss her."
He did indeed find the Principal in the hallway that the secretary had pointed out.
Natasha Romanov may have looked young to be a high school principal, but everything about her demeanor, her head carriage, her attitude exuded confidence and authority. She walked quickly down the hallway and Loki, though tall, had a hard time keeping up with her.
The principal handed him a large stack of files as soon as they arrived in her office.
"You will be in charge of the sophomores, this morning you will have three classes to teach and three this afternoon."
Loki repeated to be sure, "Three?"
"That's a quiet day, for a first day."
Loki looked a little dazed, he didn't think he was going to jump into the deep end and thought he would have some time to adjust.
The principal turned around, as if she sensed his hesitation, "The teacher you replaced let us down without notice, and it took us a while to find the right replacement, the students lost a lot of time for their final exams. We have to do our best to make sure they pass."
They walked past a student who was sitting alone on a bench, looking sulky. Romanov motioned to a supervisor.
"What's he doing here?"
The supervisor replied, "He was grounded because he took apart a computer to prove Professor Banner wrong and has to do an hour of gym under Professor Odinson's supervision. However, I can't leave the place unattended, and I was waiting for my backup to take him there.
"Peter get up," said principal Romanov in a sharp tone.
The young man stood up, a sulky look on his face.
"Professor Laufeyson, take him to Professor Odinson in the gym and then you can begin your lessons in this class."
The principal pointed to the door of the classroom in question, then turned and walked back to her office, not waiting for an answer.
"Well come with me, Mister...?"
The young boy followed his lead and replied with a pouty tone, "Parker, Peter Parker. »
"Then let's go Mr. Parker, the computer dismantler." replied Loki with a wink.  He knew he couldn't condone what the young man had done, but he couldn't help but find it amusing.
Seeing that the professor didn't look reproachful as he said these words, Peter lost his pout and got a small smile.
"Although I'm curious as to what could have caused you to disassemble a computer."
Peter seemed to come back to life, explained to an amused Loki, that Professor Banner, who taught biology, had said that nothing could compare to the complex construction that was a living being and Peter had wanted to show him the opposite by dismantling the Professor's laptop.
"But I was about to put it back together though, I don't understand why he got so upset."
Loki couldn't help but laugh.
Peter's face frowned because they had arrived at the gym.
They walked through the door and there a giant blonde man came striding in, "Peter Parker, it's been so long! Tell me what you've been up to again." he ruffled Peter's hair who tried to shy away from it, then he held out his hand to Loki who had to hold back a wince at the strength of the professor's grip.
"Professor Odinson, but call me Thor. Nice to meet you. New professor?"
"Yes, I am the new literature professor, Loki Laufeyson, but call me Loki. I'll leave this promising young man to you," He winked at Peter before continuing, "as for me I'll be teaching my first class."
"Welcome here, and good luck!" threw Thor at him before turning back to Peter, "Go change, we'll start with 10 laps running around the basketball court."
Hearing Peter's grumbles, Loki smiled as he walked away.
A few minutes later, he stopped outside his classroom door and took a deep breath.
"It takes a little time to adjust, but most of the students here are exceptional and the teaching staff is really, really nice."
Loki turned to see who had just spoken.
He found himself facing a black man, taller than him, and very impressive. But despite his imposing nature, his smile and eyes were very warm as he held out his hand. "Heimdall, art professor, welcome."
Loki grasped it and replied, "Loki, literature professor."
Heimdall gave a small nod in the direction of the door, "Good luck." then walked away.
Loki, surprisingly relaxed following this little interlude, walked through the classroom door with a confident air, placed his belongings on the desk and with an engaging smile on his lips addressed his first students, "Hello, I am your new literature teacher and I hope we will work well together."
He paused, letting his gaze roam over the entire class before continuing,"O Captain! My Captain! Who knows where that came from? No one? No idea? It's-"
A young boy raised his hand at the back of the classroom.
"Yes Mister...?"
"Keener, Harley Keener."
"All right Mister Keener, I'm listening."
"It's a Walt Whitman poem about Abraham Lincoln. And it's plagiarism of Professor Keating's introduction played by Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society."
Loki didn't lose his confidence at all and replied, "Thank you Mr. Keener. I'm not going to apologize for the plagiarism. I didn't expect anyone to contradict me since this film was released long before you were all born. Thank you, Mr. Keener, for setting me straight. I won't ask you to call me Captain, Sir, or Professor, but simply Loki. Yes, Mr. Keener, Loki, as in the Norse god of mischief... "
The whole class, including Harley, laughed and Loki thought that it wasn't such a bad start.
But he still felt exhausted at the end of the day, and he slumped into the chair at his assigned desk in the teacher's lounge. He leaned in and put his head back, closing his eyes.
"So they've worn you out already?" it was the deep voice, which he recognized as Heimdall's. He opened his eyes to see that the art professor had sat just at the desk next to him.
"Yet the Famous Five keep talking about Loki, the new professor who is super cool. It's been a long time since I've heard a literature professor on such good terms." It was Thor who came to join them and pulled a chair to sit in the space between Heimdall and Loki.
"The Famous Five?"
Thor chuckled before answering, "They're called that because they're always stuffed together, probably five of the smartest minds in this elite school, and as a result always going out on the town to..."
"…the benefit of science." finished Heimdall.
"That's their argument every time they get busted," Thor clarified.
"Who are they?" asked Loki, curious.
"There's Peter who you met this morning, he's in the same class as his two childhood friends Ned and MJ. There's Harley who talked about how you put him in his place, when he thought he had fooled you. Captain my Captain huh?"
Thor chuckled before continuing, "and finally Kamala Khan, the newest one, a little brunette, a ball of energy who always wears a big red scarf, summer and winter and who the other four have taken under their wing."
"Interesting..." replied Loki, thoughtfully.
"Wait until you're the target of their prank and we'll see if you find these kids interesting." said an unknown voice behind him.
"Bruce my friend! Were you able to fix your laptop?" exclaimed Thor with a laugh.
Loki turned around, only to find himself standing in front of a man who was a little older than him. He stood up and held out his hand, "Professor Banner, I presume."
"Am I that famous?" the man asked, raising an eyebrow as he shook the outstretched hand in a firm grip.
"It's mostly that I had the pleasure of taking Peter Parker for his grounding to Thor." replied Loki
"That brat..." harrumphed Bruce. "He's smart... but his habit of proving he's always right..."
The other men laughed in unison.
"So boys? Are we having fun?" a young woman with short blond hair stepped forward and held out her hand, "Carol Danvers, homeroom teacher at this crazy school."
"Nice to meet you," Loki replied, shaking the outstretched hand.
Unaccustomed to being around so many people and especially such friendly people, Loki felt a little overwhelmed and suddenly the fatigue of this first day seemed to fall on his shoulders to the point that he had to stifle a yawn.
Thor patted him on the back and said, "I have an excellent remedy for that."
"What is it?"
Heimdall and Thor high-fived each other and said in unison, "The Bifrost."
At Loki's look of complete incomprehension, Carol explained, "It's a bar two blocks away, good burgers, good beer and for good company, that's us." she finished with a wink.
Loki realized they were inviting him to come with them but he hesitated and finally replied, "Thanks. I better not drink tonight. I'm dead."
Bruce retorted, "We're all dead."
"Yes, but I still have a lot to unpack."
They nodded, and did not seem disappointed by his refusal, even rather understanding. Loki really wasn't used to this kind of company.
Heimdall put his hand on his arm and then said softly, "Next time, then."
Loki, not understanding why his throat was tight, simply nodded.
A little later, they separated in front of the school gates. Loki on one side and the group on the other.
" Bye Loki!"
"See you tomorrow Captain!"
Loki lived only three blocks from the school and soon arrived home. When he entered he realized how sterile and cold his large apartment seemed.
He had not yet had time to unpack all his things and the boxes were scattered everywhere. The first thing he had unpacked was Croki's terrarium, which took up a whole room.
As he closed the door, he heard Croki's typical little paws coming and rubbing against him as usual. He patted his head and headed for the kitchen. Croki was a Cuvier's Dwarf caiman. Loki had once wanted to get a dog, but in the animal shelter he had immediately felt a connection with the animal, perhaps because he was different, like himself.
Loki opened the refrigerator which was desperately empty except for Croki's fish ration. He put it on a plate and put it on the floor while commenting, "Need alligator food. And human too."
He was going to have to do some shopping tomorrow.
After snacking on a bag of chips, exhausted, he took a quick shower before going to his room.
"Good night Croki."
His room was as functional and depressing as the rest of the place. He went to stand in front of the window. Outside it was all stone buildings. It was very difficult to even see the sky. He sighed, "What a view..."
He pulled the blinds and went to bed. Once his head was on the pillow, he fell asleep very quickly, which prevented him from thinking too much about everything he missed.
**********
A red pickup truck passed the New Asgard sign before parking at the side of the path that leads to the house. Its back end was filled with furniture and moving boxes. A mustachioed man with gray hair got out. He walked toward the cottage on the edge of the cliff and stopped, hands on hips, contemplating the view.
He opened the door, looked for the electric power meter. He turned it on and went to turn on the light in the entrance and then in what seemed to be the living room.
Mobius examined the place, satisfied. There wasn't much. A stereo, some books, an armchair. But the bare and cosy furniture matched perfectly with the austere beauty of the small cottage. He looked out the window at the cliff. He was going to like it here.
It took him a good four hours to unload his pickup truck by himself and install just about everything he had brought. Once finished, he grabbed a cold beer that he had put in the cooler and while drinking it quietly walked around the house before getting in the car to go shopping at the local grocery store that he had spotted on his way in.
Once he had gone around the store, with his groceries in his arms, he went to put them on the counter.
The young owner and his wife were behind.
"Hi, are you new around here?" the owner asked him.
Mobius smiled and replied, "More or less. My name is Mobius."
The owner replied, "My name is Clint and this is my wife, Laura."
Laura smiled and added, "You're going to like it. Especially now that the weather is getting warmer." Then pointing to the groceries, she added, "We'll get you some boxes for all that."
"Oh thanks." replied Mobius.
Laura fetched an empty box from a high shelf. Now that she was no longer hidden by the counter, it was obvious that she was pregnant. Clint rushed to her. "No, honey, let me."
Mobius looked at them, feeling moved and at the same time fully aware of his own loneliness. He paid, took his box and left, but not without promising the young couple to return.
He parked in front of the small road with his groceries in the back of the truck and noticed the mailbox with its flag up. He stopped and opened it. There was an envelope.
For the new tenant.
He took in the groceries, put them away, made himself a sandwich tray and taking the letter, he went to sit on the armchair in front of the bay window. He put his tray on a small table next to it, opened the letter and started to read.
Dear new tenant.
Hello and welcome to your new home and congratulations, blah blah blah. You have made an excellent choice, New Asgard is a wonderful place and this house is a gem, as you may have already noticed.
I'm sure you'll love living here as much as I do.
By the way, I'm the former tenant, Loki.
Mobius looked perplexed but also pleasantly surprised.
The post office forwards my mail normally, but if something should happen here, because the post service is what it is and we are never safe, my new address is below. Thank you.
Mobius turned over the letter.
P.S.: Sorry for the pawprints leading to the front door. They were already there when I moved in, as well as the box in the attic. I think it belongs to the owner.
Mobius stared at the letter in amusement and could not help but check the end of the letter.
He went to the front door. The floor was clean. Inside and out.
"What did he talk about?" he scratched the back of his head before heading for the ladder that led to the attic. He opened the hatch, poked his head through and looked around. It was empty. No box.
Mobius went back down, shrugged, crumpled the letter and threw it away.
He finished his meal and went to bed.
The next day, in his clock store, while repairing an antique watch with an extremely complicated mechanism, he couldn't help thinking about the letter and its more or less strange ending when he was interrupted by the doorbell indicating that someone had entered the store.
He put down his tools, wiped his hands, and headed for the store.
"Hey Mobius! I made lunch, shall we share?"
It was the bubbly and somewhat invasive, Sylvie. The owner of the antique gun store right across from him.
He replied, annoyed, because she had interrupted his work that he loved, "I can't, I have urgent work to finish."
"Oh come on Mobius, there's nothing urgent about an old watch."
"It is to its owner."
She made a disappointed pout, "Well, okay..." she sighed and headed for the door, then turned abruptly. "Is it true you bought a house? Where is it? How is it?"
Mobius rolled his eyes, used to Sylvie's chatter.
"It's an isolated cottage, in a small village called New Asgard."
"You're sick to isolate yourself like that!"
"It's what I want and I already feel at home there. And now, if you don't mind, I'm going to get back to my work, which is not urgent." He walked briskly toward his studio, annoyed by the criticism of his choice, and didn't even hear the door close.
In the late afternoon, after his day's work, he decided to repaint the faded fences that lined the small path. The manual work, like his work on watches, helped him to clear his head.
A few hours later, as the day was getting darker, Mobius was kneeling on the steps and applying a new layer of paint to the weathered planks. He finished, satisfied with the result, and began to put his equipment away.
Behind him, a small dwarf alligator trotted along the path. Mobius didn't notice it at first. The alligator sped up and before Mobius could react, he stepped into the paint and left footprints behind him. "Hey!"
Mobius tried to catch the alligator but it ran back inside the house whose door Mobius had left ajar. Mobius was about to follow him, wondering what an alligator was doing here and if he was dangerous, when he suddenly stopped.
On the ground in front of the house, there was a trail of paw prints.
Mobius rushed to the garbage can and searched with determination through his trash when he finally found what he was looking for: Loki's letter.
He stared at it.
Sorry about the footprints leading to the front door. They were already there when I moved in, as was the box in the attic. I think it belongs to the owner.
He remained for a long moment staring at the crumpled note.
*********
Loki went out to have lunch at a place he had spotted not far from the school.
Finding the weather warm, he opened his coat and continued walking.
When he arrived at the place, he sat down on a bench and started to unwrap his sandwich, a book in his hand. He enjoyed this moment of calm, even if the place was crowded on this beautiful day.
Once finished eating, Loki closed his eyes for a moment, letting the sunlight warm him up. Just aware of the surrounding sounds, the water of the fountain, the splashes and laughter of the children playing there, an old man grumbling about global warming, the pigeons landing not far away, hoping to get some crumbs from those who like Loki had decided to have lunch here.
Suddenly, a horrible noise, a high-pitched squeal and a horn made Loki sit up. He suddenly opened his eyes and looked around.
A few meters away, in front of Loki, a double-decker city bus was trying to stop. It was going pretty fast, although you could tell the driver was trying to brake.
Loki registered it all, the noise, the bus, before noticing the gray-haired man standing directly in the path of the bus. There was nothing to be done, it was inevitable and almost immediate, the man was hit by the bus, and Loki, horrified, saw his distant figure fly ten or fifteen feet into the air before crashing to the sidewalk. The faint sound of the impact reached Loki half a second later, due to the distance.
Loki automatically took out his cell phone and dialed 911. As he walked towards the impact point, he gave all the information to the rescue workers, trying to remain calm.
Once he hung up the phone, he started to run towards the lifeless body.

Your meeting ended. At last. Bucky’s hand kept straying to your knee and each time you scraped your chair away, he inched closer. You ignored him for the ledger but he didn’t relent until you had thoroughly reviewed every digit.
You stood and Bucky did too. Steve yawned as he pushed himself from the stiff armchair and adjusted the belt of his pants. You collected the ledger and your purse. You flitted to the door as the latter neared and whispered to Bucky. They laughed and you hurried through the open door.
“I’m sure Loki has a lot to figure out and we’ll be on our way back soon enough. It’s a long ride.”
You went to the next door but were stopped by a hand on your arm. Bucky turned you to face him.
“Doesn’t sound like a fun ride, though,” He winked and you wriggled away from him. “I need a word with the boss before you head out.”
He reached past you and turned the handle. You almost tripped as you moved out of his way and he entered without pause. You spun and followed him, barely slipping between him and Steve as the henchman kept close behind. Loki’s voice died and he stood from his desk as he hung up his phone.
“Hello?” He greeted tersely.
“Sorry to interrupt,” Bucky tucked a hand in his pants pocket. “We just finished up and I didn’t want to waste any more of your time. I know you’ll be heading out soon and all that.”
“Hmm?” Loki lifted a brow dryly and straightened his jacket.
“Me and Steve are gonna stay and keep cleaning up around this place. My crew will be here tomorrow to start clearing out most of it.” Bucky pulled his hand from his pocket, a black rectangle in his hand. “I think it might be easier if you packed a bag… stayed in town tomorrow.”
Loki stared as Bucky offered one of the tiny black folders. Bucky shrugged and neared to tuck it in Loki’s front pocket before he patted it. He then turned to you and handed you the other.
“The rooms are all taken care of for the month,” He explained as you carefully opened the small black folder to reveal a key card. “I just figured it would save you time and gas. You’re no doubt antsy to be out of here as soon as you can.”
Loki sighed as his tongue poked his upper lip. He rubbed his long nose and glanced at you.
“I suppose you’re right,” He ceded. “Your hospitality is admirable… and appreciated.”
“Not at all,” Bucky gave a crooked grin. “We should really start working together, don’t you think? This place could be a goldmine with the two of us in charge.”
Loki squinted. “Certainly.”
“Well, don’t let me keep you any longer,” Bucky backed away to the door as Steve hovered on the other side of the frame. “I’d be all too happy to go back to the city…” He paused and peeked over at you. “And unwind.”
“Hmm,” Loki checked his watch. “Yes.”
Bucky tapped the door frame before he left. You let out a long breath and rested the ledger against your hip.
“How was the meeting?” Loki asked as their footsteps faded away.
“A meeting. You’re not going to like the numbers.” You warned.
“I’m not so worried about those,” Loki’s eyes lingered in the doorway. “Did he… do anything?”
“Nothing unusual. Boasting, mostly.” You replied.
“And you? What did you do?” He challenged.
“My job,” You hissed.
“Your job,” He mused as he strode closer. “Always so diligent. Well, let me tell you what your job will be tonight. You will have thirty minutes to pack for tomorrow’s return and then you will come to mine and help me pack.” He preened and smirked down at you. “And then we will ‘unwind’ as he so eloquently put it.”
You blinked as your cheek twitched. You nodded and turned away from him. You looked down at the little folder in your hand. You should be thankful that Bucky got you your own room but you suspected it was more for his good than yours. And a plastic card wouldn’t keep either of them away from you.
👄
Your night went as expected. Loki was angry and didn’t withhold his temper. The prospect of a new venture with Bucky embittered his already caustic demeanour. And the thought of a whole month in Atlantic City with the man barely helped. Either of you.
You dreaded whatever ploy this was as you slumped in the car seat and Loki drove. The occasional grumble of displeasure wisped from his lips. Thor was to meet him at the casino later that day. Lopez would oversee the antique store as the rest of Loki’s business was overseen by a man called Heimdall who had flown overnight from London to do the older brother a favour.
You pulled up to the casino before noon and yawned. You grabbed your leather tote, the ledger stuffed inside, and followed Loki across the pavement. The doors were propped open and men in dusty jeans and canvas overalls passed in and out. The days work was already underway and you doubted it would be done before sundown.
You heard a familiar voice booming from inside. As you entered, you were stunned as the now bare windows lit the immense space of the foyer. You shield your eyes as a particular slat of sunshine made you teary. A figure approached from your left as Bucky ceased his demands and appeared before you and Loki.
“You made good time,” Bucky clapped Loki’s shoulder. “I hope you had a restful night.”
“Mmm,” Loki rolled his eyes and peered around.
“Your contractor is around here somewhere,” Bucky looked at the men as they went about their work. “I think he was having a look at the east staircase.”
“Darby?” Loki uttered. “Well, he should be able to take care of himself well enough.”
“Better roll up those sleeves,” Bucky nudged him as he turned to stand beside him. He admired the storm around him. “We’re all hands on deck today… except you, sweetheart. We got you a nice little space upstairs where you won’t be disturbed.”
He looked around Loki and winked. Loki’s lips curled and he shook his head.
“I can help too,” You insisted. “No sense in sitting around while you all--”
“In those heels. In that dress,” Bucky scoffed. “These men don’t need a distraction.”
“Excuse me--”
“Anyways, there is one thing you need to do,” Bucky continued on as Loki’s hand strayed to your lower back and he stepped closer to you. “You’ll need a desk. There was one up there but uh, not very stable. We trashed it last night.”
“A desk?” You crossed your arms. “I can make do with a table. Or my lap.”
“Nah,” He waved away your protest then signaled across the foyer. “I’ll have Steve take you around. The office is all cleaned up for ya, just needs a lady’s touch so while you’re out, grab whatever else you need.”
“This is really not--”
“It’s almost noon,” Bucky announced as Steve approached. “More than enough time for you two.” He looked to his henchman and grinned. “You good to take her now?”
Steve dusted off his palms and wiped his forehead with the back of his hand. His shirt sleeves were pushed halfway up his forearms and a tail had come untucked.
“Let me just find my jacket,” Steve winked at you. “I’ll take good care of her.”
“Take care of the desk,” Bucky jabbed Steve’s chest. “Oh, and don’t forget a chair. Can’t have her sitting on a stack of rubble.”
“Course, boss,” Steve smirked. “Think I can handle a shopping trip.”
“Think you can?” Bucky mocked as he turned back to Loki. “Right, we should go find this Darby guy.”
“In a moment,” Loki frowned. “I just need a word with my bookkeeper.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll cover the desk and the like,” Bucky assured as Loki began to usher you aside.
“It’s not a worry,” Loki sneered. “We do have other business.”
Loki grabbed your upper arm and your heels scuffed across the floor as he urged you away from the two men. His jaw ticked as he glanced out the double doors.
“I hope Thor arrives soon. Always late.” He muttered before he cleared his throat. “Darling, you behave.” He felt around and reached into his jacket. He flipped out his wallet and plucked a black card from its folds. “Spend what you must. I’ll not have this man acting benefactor.”
“Um, okay,” You took the card hesitantly. “Loki, I--”
“I am not stupid. I see what he is doing. Him and that drone of his,” Loki growled. “Keep your eye on that oaf.”
You covered the card with your hand and chewed your lip. It would’ve been funny to see Loki so perturbed in any other circumstance, but you suspected you were as much the butt of the joke as him.
👄
If you thought the car ride with Loki the day before was awkward, the one with Steve was grueling and suffocating. You sat in the passenger seat of the flashy sports car and picked at the leather along the door handle. His hand rested on the stick even when he wasn’t changing gears, his fingers tapped on the bulbous head as you felt him peeking at you in the rear view.
“You know,” He finally broke the silence which had thickened after he asked where he was going and you shrugged. “Every time I see you, I just can’t help but think of that day.”
You crossed your arms and went rigid in the seat. You bit the inside of your lip and glared out the window without a word.
“I’m sure you’re wondering which one? The club or the shop?” Steve taunted. “And I really can’t decide if I prefer your ass or your mouth.”
“Would you shut up?” You spat as you finally looked at him.
“I’m sorry, I just can’t ignore this tension between us.”
“Oh, do you mean the sheer hatred or the pure revulsion?” You challenged.
“Don’t act all innocent, honey,” He pushed his shoulders back as he steered with one arm and his other hand gripped the stick. “We both know what-- who you did.”
“The worst thing about you men is you don’t seem to understand the concept of silence,” You hissed. “Or many things, to be fair.”
He pulled into a lot and snarled. He pulled into a spot and the car jolted to a stop. He put the car in park and looked at you.
“Actually, I can think of several ways to keep you quiet,” He snickered. “One I already know to be effective.”
Your nostrils flared and you glanced past him to the plaza. You swallowed and reached for your door handle. He hit the locks and the door clicked loudly. You fell back against your seat and crossed your arms.
“Steve,” You huffed. “We’re here to find a desk.”
“We got time.”
“No,” You pressed yourself to the door and avoided looking at him. “Just let me out.”
He killed the engine and the keys jangled loudly before they were muffled behind fabric. His large hand stretched over your thigh and he rubbed you through your skirt. You drew away and crossed your leg over the other.
His fingers crept up to the waist of your skirt and he picked at it cloyingly. He leaned across the middle of the car and his warm breath singed your cheek.
“Well, come on then,” The doors unlocked loudly. “Let’s go find that desk.”
👄
The furniture store was almost maze-like. The imported furniture was set out in winding pathways and arranged in carefully plotted scenes. Each piece was unique and every single one was expensive. Steve followed closely as you strolled along, pausing to look closer at a mother of pearl vase or a novelty pen cup.
The selection had yet to intrigue you. It didn’t matter anyway. You didn’t really care what your desk looked like. When all was said and done, you’d be back in New York at the tiny one nestled in the back of The Attic.
You stopped before a display with a zebra print rug rolled out beneath a marbled black desk. The golden legs spiraled up to support the thick top and an array of paperweights and stationary was laid out across it.
You hated it but you didn’t mind the chair behind it. The dark suede looked comfortable; a lush purple cushiony hug. You stepped closer and picked up the golden pen propped up in an empty inkwell. You twirled it and tilted your head at the bookshelves on either side of the display. Those would actually be useful.
As you set the pen back, you sensed something behind you. Steve’s hands brushed along your waist as he pressed himself against you. He gripped your shoulders and inhaled the scent of your hair.
“This would be nice,” He remarked. “Sturdy.”
He reached down with one hand and touched the desktop.
“Just bend you over a little,” He pushed on your shoulder and you caught yourself against the desk. Your arms trembled as he tried to force you down. He rubbed his crotch against you. “Or maybe you could crawl underneath and--”
“Steve, what the fuck?” You struggled against him. “Someone will see.”
“So,” His hand left the desk and ran over your stomach. “Not our problem.”
“Stop,” You caught his hand before he reached your chest. “I mean it. I doubt Bucky--” You turned with effort and shoved him away. He barely flinched. “Sent you to fondle me.”
“You don’t think so?” He grinned.
“What the fuck does that mean?” You felt behind you and grabbed the pen from the inkwell, tipping the little golden cube over.
“It means I can do whatever I want and the boss will pat me on the back,” He stepped closer.
“You do,” You brought the pen around and pointed the sharp nib at his throat. “And I’ll make sure you never touch anyone again.”
He blinked then tilted his head. His eyes drifted down to the pen and he chuckled. He raised his hands and backed away.
“You’re cute,” He said as he tucked his hands in his pockets. “Come on, let’s find you a fucking desk.”

Upcoming Marvel Movies Release Dates: MCU Phase 4 Schedule, Cast, and Story Details
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
A bold new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe began in 2021 on Disney+ with the wildly successful WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but Marvel Studios certainly hasn’t been resting on its laurels in terms of upcoming cinematic blockbusters. Not only does it have Black Widow (finally) ready for theatrical release, but we’ve also got Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness all in various stages of production, there are also TV series on the way for the likes of Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and more!
Well, if you’ve been a little confused by Marvel’s shifting dates and streaming priorities, never fear! We’ve got a comprehensive release calendar for you here detailing all the forthcoming MCU projects, so you’ll always be able to find the latest updates when you need them.
Let’s take a look at everything Marvel has in store over the next few years…
Loki
Release Date: June 9, 2021
Tom Hiddleston will reprise his most famous role, as Loki finds himself on a heist through time and space “as he steps out of his brother’s shadow” after the events of Avengers: Endgame! Oh, and based on this trailer, there’s all kinds of time-travelling weirdness awaiting, including the return of Heimdall, some other Asgardian hijinks, DB Cooper (yes!), Owen Wilson playing an obscure character based on a beloved Marvel Comics writer, and…Loki possibly running for President!
Tom Hiddleston stars, of course, and the cast also includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant. Michael Waldron is head writer and Kate Herron is directing.
Black Widow
Release Date: In theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access Friday, July 9, 2021
The Black Widow movie was heading for a May 1, 2020 release before the pandemic, but Disney and Marvel decided to delay it until the industry’s infrastructure was back to some semblance of normal. They seemed absolutely committed to keeping Natasha on a theatrical release rather than sending her to Disney+, but eventually semi-caved in March as it was confirmed that Black Widow would hit both streaming and theaters simultaneously in July.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.”
Cate Shortland directed the film, and Scarlett Johansson stars, with Florence Pugh and David Harbour alongside her. One of the movie’s villains is Taskmaster, and we wrote a little bit more about him right here.
Natasha Romanoff will get a prequel movie of sorts here, as we catch up with Widow right around the events of Captain America: Civil War. Will the plot affect her character’s ultimate fate in Endgame? Do not count on it.
What If…?
Release Date: Summer 2021
The beloved comic book series that tells tales of how things might have turned out differently in the Marvel Universe is becoming an animated series on Disney+!
Here’s the official synopsis:
“What If…? flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways…Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU, featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles.”
We know that at least a couple of these roles include Chadwick Boseman’s final performance as T’Challa as well as the return of Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter!
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Release Date: September 3, 2021
Simu Liu has been cast as the titular Shang-Chi and Tony Leung as The Mandarin (hey, that name sounds familiar! But this time, we’re getting the real Mandarin on screen). Destin Daniel Cretton is directing from a script by Dave Callaham. Given its “Ten Rings” title, Shang-Chi should be steeped in Marvel lore, going all the way back to the first Iron Man film!
Hopefully this will be Marvel’s most action-packed movie yet. The trailer sure makes us think so.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage
Release Date: September 17, 2021
Andy Serkis (Mowgli) steps behind the camera for Venom 2, which now boasts the catchy title of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The first film, buoyed by a terrific showing at the Chinese box office, made an absolute ton of money, despite being released to mostly scathing reviews.
Venom: Let There be Carnage will follow up Sony’s 2018 Spider-Man-less spinoff film, but will likely be more connected to the MCU this time around, thanks to a renewed deal between the company and its Marvel Studios partners. Tom Hardy will return as Eddie Brock, of course, and as you can probably guess from that title, he’ll be facing off against Woody Harrelson’s villain, Cletus Kasady aka Carnage!
We wrote about all the cool Marvel stuff happening in the above trailer right here.
The Eternals
Release Date: Nov. 5, 2021
Acclaimed Nomadland helmer (and Oscar winner!) Chloe Zhao is directing Marvel’s Eternals from a script by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. Marvel described the film as an “epic story, spanning thousands of years” that features “a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants.”
The cast features Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Gemma Chan as Sersi, and Kit Harrington as Dane Whitman, the Black Knight. We meet all these characters in the trailer, which we wrote more about here.
This one was another victim of the release date shuffle, but we’ll finally get to see Jack Kirby‘s wildest creations soon enough!
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Release Date: Dec. 17, 2021
The next Spider-Man movie looks like a big one! Spider-Man: No Way Home will once again take place in the MCU since Marvel and Sony solved their differences, good sense prevailed, and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will remain a vital part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This one, well…this might be a live action Spider-Verse movie from the sound of it. Jamie Foxx will reprise his role as Electro from the maligned Amazing Spider-Man films and Alfred Molina will return from the Raimi era as Doctor Octopus.
Wait. Are they trying to make this a multiversal Sinister Six movie? Because…we could be down for that.
Hawkeye
Release Date: Late 2021
Jeremy Renner returns as Clint Barton to train his replacement as Hawkeye, Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop! Apparently based on the brilliant run of comics by Matt Fraction and David Aja, Hawkeye will also prominently feature Lucky the Pizza Dog, one of the great canines in Marvel Comics history.
The cast also includes Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, Fra Fee as Kazimerz Kazimierczak, Tony Dalton as Jack “Swordsman” Duquesne, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Alaqua Cox as Maya “Echo” Lopez, and Zahn McClarnon as Willie Lincoln. We wrote more about all these new characters here.
Ms. Marvel
Release Date: Late 2021
Ms. Marvel is finally coming to live action! Here’s the official synopsis for the series…
“Ms. Marvel introduces Kamala Khan—a 16-year-old Pakistani-American growing up in Jersey City. “A great student, an avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, she has a special affinity for superheroes, particularly Captain Marvel. But Kamala struggles to fit in at home and at school—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life is easier with super powers, right?”
The cast includes Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha. Episodes are directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
This is going to be a big one, folks, because Kamala is going to be a significant player in Captain Marvel 2. How significant? The title of the movie is now The Marvels!
Morbius
Release Date: January 21, 2022
Spider-Man spinoff Morbius is Sony’s next big Marvel wild card, and it’ll officially be the first spinoff to properly connect to the MCU (even if Marvel Studios still isn’t officially acknowledging it in their own promotional materials the way they are with Spider-Man: No Way Home). Here’s the official synopsis for the film…
“Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.”
Safe House‘s Daniel Espinosa directs from a script by Matt Sazama, Burk Sharpless, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway. Jared Leto stars as the vampiric title character, and the cast also includes Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson.
Read more about the character of Michael Morbius here.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Release Date: March 25, 2022
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness looks like it will open up the storytelling possibilities in the MCU like never before. And that’s just based on the name alone. Scott Derrickson was scheduled to direct, but bowed out because of “creative differences” with Marvel. But the good news is that Marvel found a suitable replacement in none other than Sam Raimi, who of course has plenty of superhero experience thanks to his Spider-Man trilogy in the early 2000s!
This one has loads of connections to the wider MCU. Elizabeth Olsen will be here as Wanda Maximoff post-WandaVision, and the film will also connect to Spider-Man: No Way Home and its own multiversal ambitions. There are also a few rumors doing the rounds that Jericho Drumm aka Brother Voodoo could be introduced in this sequel. We’ll keep an eye on that and update this if there’s any substance to them.
Thor: Love and Thunder
Release Date: May 6, 2022
Taika Waititi, who gave us the delightful Thor: Ragnarok, will return to write and direct. Chris Hemsworth will be back. Natalie Portman is your new Thor (yes, you read that right, Jane Foster will wield the hammer…just as she did in the comics!). Christian Bale has also joined the cast as the terrifying Gorr the God Butcher. Not only that, this movie will finally put Olympians in the MCU with Russell Crowe as Zeus. Can Hercules be far behind?
Oh, and did we mention that the Guardians of the Galaxy will be along for the ride, too?
Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever
Release Date: July 8, 2022
Black Panther 2 is now called Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Marvel has made it official that after the tragic, untimely death of Chadwick Boseman they have no intention of recasting the role of T’Challa, which is absolutely the right move.
Ryan Coogler will return as director, but there are no other details currently available. Interestingly, Coogler is also bringing a Wakanda TV series to Disney+ at some point in the future, too, and something tells us this Wakanda-centric title for the sequel is a sign of things to come.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Sequel
Release Date: October 7, 2022
Is it technically an MCU movie? Nope. But with all the legal weirdness going on between Marvel and Sony, and this franchise’s very multiversal concept, who’s really to say that it ISN’T an MCU movie either, right? In any case, the sequel to the best Spider-Man movie of all time is coming in 2022 with Avatar: The Last Airbender mastermind Joaquim Dos Santos directing and David Callaham writing.
There’s also an “untitled Marvel movie” still technically scheduled for this date but…that is almost certainly not gonna happen now. Expect whatever that project was to move to one of these below dates or to some other currently unspecified date on the calendar.
Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels
Release Date: November 11, 2022
WandaVision writer Megan McDonnell has been tapped to write the screenplay for Captain Marvel 2, which now boasts the title of The Marvels. You know what else is really cool? Candyman‘s Nia DaCosta will direct!
We have no idea where we’ll find Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) in the sequel to her hugely successful first standalone MCU entry. Will she be fighting to loosen her former Kree pals’ iron grip on a pre-Avengers galaxy? Or will the follow up film see her fighting for justice in the present?
In any case, we know that she’ll be facing off with Zawe Ashton as a currently-unnamed antagonist, and WandaVision‘s Monica Lambeau (Teyonah Parris) will also return in her superpowered state after the events of that game-changing show. Considering that Monica was once known as “Captain Marvel” in the comics, that title of The Marvels becomes more appropriate. And even MORE appropriate when you realize that Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel, will also be making her big screen debut.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Release date: Feb. 17, 2023
Peyton Reed will return to direct the third installment of the Ant-Man saga, making him the first director in MCU history to complete a trilogy…perhaps the most unlikely trilogy in Marvel’s entire arsenal. Paul Rudd will return as Scott Lang, and you can certainly expect Evangeline Lilly to return as The Wasp and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
The villain of the film? That will be Kang the Conqueror, who will be played by Lovecraft Country‘s Jonathan Majors. The inclusion of Kang opens up all kinds of interesting possibilities for the MCU, and may even tease the arrival of the Fantastic Four down the line! We wrote more about those possibilities right here.
We’re also going to need fast confirmation on Michael Pena’s return as Luis, though. Luis is key…
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Release date: May 5, 2023
After a tumultuous period which saw James Gunn fired and then rehired as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director, he will finally return to complete his spacefaring trilogy for the studio. However, Gunn can’t even begin filming Guardians 3 until he finishes production on The Suicide Squad for DC, as well as an HBO Max Peacemaker prequel. Once those projects are finished, he’s free to return to the MCU.
Avengers: Endgame left the team in an interesting place. We broke down some of the story possibilities right here.
And then there are still some dates that Marvel has announced that they have yet to match projects to. Those dates are…
July 28, 2023
Oct 7, 2023
Nov. 10, 2023
Some of those dates could very well be good fits for the following films…
Fantastic Four
The MCU Fantastic Four movie is finally happening! Marvel seems to be hinting that Fantastic Four will be their next priority after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. So is it possible that we’ll see it on July 28, 2023? That sure would be a great piece of summer blockbuster real estate to launch what might be the most important piece of the MCU going forward!
Marvel’s first family will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a film directed by Jon Watts, who did such a wonderful job with the first two MCU Spider-Man movies. That’s all the information that’s out there at the moment, but as soon as we have more, we’ll update this. It also appears that WandaVision started to set up the Fantastic Four, so stay tuned. We have our own theories on why Marvel went with the Fantastic Four before the X-Men, but that’s another story.
Blade
In 2019, Marvel announced that they will be rebooting the Blade franchise with Mahershala Ali playing the titular daywalker. Ali’s True Detective co-star – and former Blade villain – Stephen Dorff is excited to see what he can do with the character, and so are we.
Could Marvel decide to drop this in that Oct. 7, 2023 release date? Considering that’s the Halloween season and Blade is, y’know, a vampire hunter, they’d have to be foolish not to, right?
Captain America 4
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman is co-writing a currently-untitled Captain America 4 with another FWS alum, Dalan Musson. Those are pretty much all the details that are currently available on this one at this time, but at least we know that Anthony Mackie will return as Sam Wilson in that incredibly badass Captain America costume they gave him for that show. We wrote some more about the potential story possibilities for this one right here.
There’s no date or director for this one yet, so even 2023 seems like it might be a longshot.
Deadpool 3
Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin will be the writing team tasked with bringing the Merc with a Mouth to the MCU. What a Deadpool 3 could look like in the interconnected Marvel Cinematic Universe is, of course, anybody’s guess, but if anyone can crack wise about the follies of this kind of corporate synergy, it’s Ryan Reynolds.
And then there’s the lingering TV stuff, at least two of which will arrive in 2022, with the balance likely to arrive in 2023…
She-Hulk
Tatiana Maslany will play Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who ends up with her cousin Bruce’s gamma-irradiated blood. Hilarity certainly ensues. Kevin Feige has promised that since this will be a courtroom show, you never know who else from the MCU could show up.
It’s possible we’ll get She-Hulk on Disney+ in 2022, but nothing is confirmed at this stage.
Moon Knight
Oscar Isaac will play Marc Spector, a disturbed fortune hunter who also happens to be the avenging avatar of an Egyptian moon god. Oscar Isaac is already training hard for the role, and the series is now officially in production, so we wouldn’t be surprised if we see this one on Disney+ in 2022.
Ironheart
The first of two series that will explore the legacy of Iron Man and Tony Stark in the MCU, Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a teenager at M.I.T. who creates her own suit of armor to right the wrongs of the world.
Armor Wars
Don Cheadle will reprise his role as Rhodey and will have the solo spotlight in the War Machine armor in a series that deals with a nightmare scenario for the MCU: what if Tony Stark’s Iron Man technology fell into the wrong hands and was getting duplicated by villains? Based on a classic comics run, Armor Wars promises big action and lots of obscure bad guys. We can’t wait.
Secret Invasion
Samuel L. Jackson will return as Nick Fury alongside Ben Mendelsohn as Talos for a series about the shape-shifting Skrull infiltration of Earth. Kingsley Ben-Adir is apparently playing the villain of the series. Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, and Killian Scott also star.
On directing duties are Thomas Bezucha (Let Him Go) and Ali Selim (The Looming Tower) while Mr. Robot vet Kyle Bradstreet is the head writer.
Secret Invasion could be the biggest thing to happen to the MCU since Endgame.
Wakanda
Very few details are available on this one at the moment, but Ryan Coogler will develop at least one Wakanda-set TV series for Disney+. Could this have anything to do with that Wakanda Forever title for Black Panther 2? We wrote more about some of the implications of this here.
We’ll keep updating this with new information as it becomes available!

Therapy for Superheroes Masterlist
“Thor? Did you hear me?” The tall Asgardian is busy looking out of your window, admiring the rain and the lightning strike.
“I heard you, my flower but I still don’t understand why Captain Rogers insisted I have to be here. Not that I do not enjoy your company, but I would prefer showing you a better place than this boring room.” Walking around the tall man watches you playing with your pen.
“Thor, every Avenger has to do therapy after what happened. I know you and your brother Loki have serious problems. Don’t you want to talk about it with me?” Looking at the man shrugging his shoulders you sigh.
“I don’t like talking about feelings and problems.” Swinging his hammer Thor rumbles, and you admire the way his muscles flex every time he swings the hammer. “I prefer a battle or smashing things, little Midgardian or…” Now a dirty smirk appears on his lips. “Sharing my nights with a beautiful flower…”
“Why don’t you tell me something about your home instead? I never saw Asgard and I’m curious how it might look like.” Thor’s eyes lit up and he grips his hammer tighter. His ‘civilian’ clothes disappear and he stands tall and proud in his armor before you.
The red cape hangs loosely over his broad shoulders and you need to hold back a whimper when one thick arm slings around your waist to bring your vulnerable body closer to the God’s chest.
“Hold tight my flower.” Thor whispers and the next moment you start squealing as you are not in your office any longer.
“What?” Gasping you look around the foreign place only to see a tall guardian gripping a sword watching you and Thor.
“My king,” Heimdall exclaims and you gasp realizing Thor brought you to Asgard. “You wanted to know about Asgard, so I brought you here. Now let me show you the most important place in the whole Palace.”
Before you can react Thor picks you up. His long legs carry you fast toward his room and you start to shiver as he sniffs at your hair and his hands grope your ass.
“Thor!”
“My flower?”
“How about we talk about your problems…?” Trying to act professional you wiggle in his grip but Thor drops you onto his bed.
“I want to show you about my problems.” Thor points at his hammer and then he sighs heavily. “Ever since I got the hammer Loki became jealous. I know he’s my brother but sometimes I want to smash his skull with the hammer…”
Your eyes dart between the hammer, Thor’s obscene thick arms and the growing bulge in his pants. You told yourself after failing to resist Bucky you will never break your rules again but right now you doubt there’s a way to resist the tall Asgardian.
His blue eyes search your face and a bright smile appears on his kissable lips. With two long steps, he’s by your side to tower over you. “We could have an agreement, Y/N. I’ll tell you more about my problems with Loki and you will lay with me.”
“Thor, my king that’s immoral. I can’t just…” His eyes shine and you hear thunder outside. Flinching you hear Thor’s deep rumble as he grabs your waist with his large hands to pick you up. “I want you to see my powers…”
Wrapping your legs around the tall man’s waist you let him carry you out of the room. Thunder clashes down and a bolt of lightning strikes right next to you.
“Thor…” Squealing you hide your face into his neck, and he chuckles darkly. “My flower is afraid of thunder?”
“Thunder…lightning…” Shrieking you start shaking as another lighting hits the ground next to you and Thor.
“I will stop if you agree to my terms, little Midgardian. I can only think about burying my cock inside of your tight heat. I want to make you writhe on my godlike length…” Gasping you meet Thor’s glowing eyes and you fist his golden hair as you crush your lips onto his.
To hell with morals, your patient needs your help so you will do anything to help him. If that means to have dirty and hot sex with a God, so be it…
Thor’s tongue swipes over your lips to taste you as your fingers slide through his hair.
Breathing heavily, you moan feeling his hands groping your ass roughly. “I want you, my flower. I will let you feel how a god makes love…”
Tumblr media
Thor’s hands make quick work of your clothing, simply ripping your dress and underwear to shreds the God smirks as you give him an angry look, but he doesn’t seem to care.
His clothes follow not seconds later, and you hold your breath at the sight of his throbbing erected cock.
“My flower…I want to taste you…” Thor’s deep voice brings you out of your daydreams and you nod hesitantly as he pushes you onto the bed to bury his face between your shaking legs.
His skilled tongue slides through your wet folds, his strong hands caress your thighs as he thrusts his tongue into your hole.
“Thor…” Fisting his golden hair you grind against his face, crying out when he flicks your nub with the tip of his tongue.
“I want to ride you, Thor…” Your words come out as an order and the God looks up at you with a smirk all over his face.
“Then have my cock, Y/N. Come here…” Flipping onto his back faster than you expect it from a tall and heavy man as Thor he points toward his length.
Crawling into Thor’s lap you smile when he grabs your waist carefully to help you lining his impressive length up with your entrance. Feeling your slick running down your thighs you gasp feeling the tip pressing against your opening.
“Take me slow, my flower…” Thor is watching you placing your hands onto his firm chest to slowly take him in. Gasping you feel his shaft spreading you to your limit.
Moving up and down his length you moan as Thor is gently guiding you, doing most of the work, he’s letting you adjust till he guides his length deeper into you till he’s fully sheathed.
Groaning the god watches you writhe onto his dick while you dig your nails deep into his flesh.
“You’re a god for sure, Thor…”
Carefully you start rocking forward and backward on top of the tall Asgardian to just enjoy the fullness. Letting his hands wander from your waist to your breasts he kneads the sensitive flesh gently. His eyes sparkle before he squeezes your nipples and you gasp at the spark going straight to your core.
“Tell me…shit…you’re so big…about your problems…Thor…”
Thor is playing with your tits, just letting you use his body to your enjoyment. When you hit the right spot for the first time he hums. His deep rumble causes you to shudder.
When you use your legs to ‘bounce’ on his lap allowing his penis to glide in deep and then out again his features darken and you know he wants to take over control. “Tell me…”
“You feel so good…so so good, my flower. It’s…” Flipping you over Thor moves your legs around his waist. “Loki always betrays people…” Gripping the headboard Thor starts railing into you.
“More…tell me more…” Crying out his name, shouting it in ecstasy you grip his shoulders as he uses his strength to plunge into you.
He’s smirking, not afraid to break you he rams into you with all he’s got to press screams and praises of his name out of your vulnerable body.
“I hate him sometimes but at the same time I love my brother…” Groaning he changes the angle of entrance, now hitting your cervix with every long stroke.
“He’s a good brother but a bastard. Like a coin with two different faces on it. The smiling brother…” Thor grabs your legs to those them over his shoulders as he digs his knees into the mattress. “And the smirking devil.”
“Oh…holy…” Your hands fist the sheets, tears stream down your face as you come undone, sobbing the god’s name but he doesn’t let you rest.
Taking you harder he moves his hips at a maddening pace to press another high out of your weak body. “I want to trust him…” Thor exclaims now pressing your knees up to your chest to go even deeper.
He’s a glorious sight. Not even sweating he pants on top of you as he drives into your slit with abandon. His golden hair is hanging loose in his face and he contorts his gorgeous features for a moment before he shouts your name, coating your walls with his cum.
Your legs are jelly when you fall over the edge with him. Eyes squeezed shut, mouth formed in a perfect O you try to feel your body again.
“That was…” Thor nods before he flips onto his back, bringing you back on top of him. He’s still connected with your body, not wanting to pull out he presses you to his chest.
“I want to go for another round, my flower but I’ll give you time to catch your breath.” Whimpering you feel his length hardening inside of you once again and you know your patient needs more ‘therapy’ tonight.
“Tell me more, Thor…”
“It all began when father told me about the hammer and that I’m the god of thunder…” Thor begins as he starts moving your body up and down his length.
“I think that’s progress…”
“Yes, my flower now I want to know about therapy and how you can help me not to kill my brother…”

The Lighthouse (4/??)
Summary: The town is sleepy, the people are nice enough, but life gets turned upsidedown when the God of Thunder literally falls out of the sky.
A/N: It’s been two years since I last updated this story, and it’s taken me this long to figure out where it needed to go. Good news: I’ve finally figured it out, and can get back to actually writing it. Anyway, please enjoy!
Page dividers by @carryonmyswansong
Pairing: ThorxReader
Word Count: 1.9k
Warnings: None (annoying sheriff, maybe?)
Part 3
Tumblr media
“(Y/N),” Thor calls. “There’s someone at the door for you!”
“Coming!” I shout.
I shove myself back from my desk and haul myself up from my chair. I push my hands into the small of my back and twist from side to side in a feeble attempt to crack my back. I give up after a couple of tries and pad out of my office onto the staircase.
At the bottom of the stairs, I find an agitated Sheriff Green and a nonplussed Thor facing off in the doorway. When the Sheriff sees me, he looks at Thor then back at me before his eyebrows pull together.
“(Y/N), who is this guy?” he asks, looking Thor up and down. “I haven’t seen him around town before.”
“Old friend, that’s all,” I answer, placing a gentle hand on Thor’s arm and pushing him back from the door. The Sheriff opens his mouth to ask another question and I hold up my hand, silently asking him to keep it to himself. “I trust him. That’s all you need to know.”
“Just one more question, and then I’ll stop.”
“Fine.”
“How long has he been in town?”
I shrug. “Couple days. Showed up just before the storm hit.”
“Really? I didn’t see another car in the driveway.”
“You said one question.”
“I’m just trying to gauge what’s happening.”
“Sheriff, unless I’ve done something wrong, there’s no reason to interrogate me.”
He nods and sighs in resignation. “How are you holding up after that storm?” he asks.
“Just fine,” I answer. “I wasn’t hit as hard as everyone else was this time. Could have something to do with being closer to the water, but I can’t say for sure.”
“Whatever it is, I’m glad you’re fine. If the lighthouse weren’t operational, we’d be in a helluva lot of trouble right about now.”
“Maybe, but… is there a reason you’re here, or is there something I can do for you, Sheriff?” I ask. “Not that it isn’t nice to see you, I’m just a bit busy at the moment. You know how people are about deadlines.”
“You still doin’ that editing thing?”
“Well, yeah. That editing “thing” is my job. Operating the lighthouse isn’t exactly lucrative work.”
“Is there an issue, (Y/N)?” Thor asks.
I shake my head. “No, don’t worry.” I glance back into the house. “Could you go check on Charles? He gets into trouble if he’s left alone for too long.”
He nods and squeezes my shoulder before heading off to the kitchen. The Sheriff’s eyes follow him until he notices my unimpressed expression.
“What?”
“Leave him alone, man, he’s got enough on his plate right now without you looking for some kind of trouble.”
“I have no idea what you mean.”
“Oh please, I saw the way you looked at him. Just because you’ve never seen him before doesn’t mean he’s dangerous.”
He scoffs and rolls his eyes. “I never said he was.”
“You didn’t have to, Sheriff. It was written all over your face.” I jerk my chin at him. “Now, what do you need?”
He sighs. “I just wanted to check up on you. No one’s seen you for a few days. Edith at the grocery store is starting to get worried.”
“It’s been two days. It’s not unusual for me to stay inside while I’m working. You know this, and you’ve never come by to check on me before, so why now?”
He tilts his head to the side. “I don’t… I don’t know.”
“Well if you don’t know, I guess that means we’re done here.”
“(Y/N)-”
“Sorry to cut this little visit short, but I have work and company to attend to. You know how it is.”
“Of course, you’re right.” He nods erratically. “I’ll see you around, (Y/N).”
“Yeah, see you around.”
He tips his hat to me and turns on his heel, quickly picking his way through the yard. I watch him until he’s in his car and driving away, and only when I can’t see him any longer do I close the door.
“That was odd,”
I slowly turn around to find Thor standing there with Charles curled up in his arms. I shake my head and scrub a hand over my face.
“Yeah, it was.”
“Does he normally act like that?” Thor asks, following me as I head into the living room.
“No, he doesn’t. That’s why it was odd.” I crouch down in front of the TV cabinet and reach as far back as my arm will go, fishing around for the metal case my father had hidden there. Looking at it fifteen years later, it seems impossibly dusty and small.
“What is that?” Thor crouches beside me and allows Charles to jump down from his arms.
“They’re old protection runes my father used to have hanging up near the front door. We took them down about five years after we moved in when he was sure this was a safe place.” I flip open the lid to reveal two substantially sized Algiz cast in silver metal. “I think it might be time to put them up again.”
“You believe the sheriff wishes you harm?”
“No, but he was acting strange. The fact that you, a literal god, are sitting in my living room leads me to think that there’s something out there that wants to get to you. If that’s the case, then we could use all the protection we can get short of calling up an actual witch.”
I pull myself up and head back to the front door. I take the pictures from the nails on either side of the doorway and set them to the side before carefully hanging the runes in their place.
“How is it that you know so much of runes and magic?”
“Runs in the family,” I answer. I straighten one of the runes slightly. “My dad said that my great aunt Lacy had actual magic, but I don’t think that got passed down to me.” I shoot him a grin. “Would’ve been cool if it had, though.”
“How do you know that it was not?”
“I think I’d know if I had magic by now.” Thor raises his eyebrows and I tap the side of my head. "Heimdall.”
“Ah.”
“If you’ve got any information on my totally fake magic, it’d be nice of you to let me know.”
“It certainly would explain why you’re the only human that I’ve been able to get through to. Believe me, I tried numerous before stumbling across you.”
“I wonder…” I head into the kitchen to clean up the mess we made at breakfast. “How many humans with magic do you know of who can talk to gods?”
“None, though one recently managed to bargain with a cosmic being who could be classified as a diety.”
“Well, then I’ll take the title of God Whisperer, please and thank you.”
Thor laughs heartily but sobers quickly. “The sheriff mentioned that you haven’t left to get groceries in quite some time.”
“I haven’t.” I bite the inside of my cheek. “I should probably make a trip to the store unless we want to eat canned soup and cereal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.”
Thor laughs. “It wouldn’t be awful, though I understand your reluctance to do so.”
“I think you put too much faith in canned soup.” He just laughs harder and I shake my head.
I fold my arms and squint out the window, mulling over what I should do.
“What are you thinking?” he asks.
“I’m thinking that we need food, but I’d rather not leave you here on your own, even if you do have a vicious guard cat to keep you company.”
“Would I be wrong to think that you’re able to order groceries?” Thor asks. He smiles when I raise an eyebrow in question. “It’s something that I’ve seen Stark do in the past.”
“No, you’re not wrong. That’s actually a pretty smart idea.”
“Well, the only person who's ever accused me of being stupid is my brother,” he says, an amused smile playing at his lips.
I laugh and grab the phone from above the sink. “I’ve never really heard anything good about him, so I won’t trust his judgment.”
“I appreciate that.”
I call the grocery store and one of the clerks picks up.
“Thank you for calling Family Grocers, this is Deb, how can I help you today?”
“Hey, Deb, it’s (Y/N).”
“Hey, what can I do for you”?”
“I was hoping I could order some groceries? I’m on a time crunch for this project for work and I don’t have time to come by and shop.”
“Oh, yeah, no problem at all! What do you want in the order?”
I rattled off a list of things I’d need and she says she’ll have it ready for me in an hour. I thank her and hang up. I frown and place the phone on its’ stand before moving to the living room. I pace back and forth in front of the couch, arms folded across my chest. Daisy wanders along beside me but abandons me for scratches when Thor sits on the couch.
“You’re worried,” Thor says.
“Of course I’m worried. I don’t know what’s going on here. You can’t seem to remember what happened to you, and now the sheriff is acting weird.”
“Police on this world have always baffled me,” he says. “I wasn’t sure what to make of the way he acted.”
I shake my head. “Sure, police suck, but he’s always been pretty obvious about what he’s after. He was just… really weird, earlier. Like just off in general.”
“I see.”
I stop pacing and face him. “Do you think any of this could have something to do with you? Whatever happened on Asgard before you fell here has to have had some kind of impact outside of the crater you left.”
“It’s possible. I just can’t remember anything.” He sighs and leans back against the throw pillows. “I wish I had just a shred of what happened. But everything is blank.”
“Don’t worry about it yet.” I watch him squeeze his eyes shut and scrub his hands over his face. “We’ve got time before anything serious happens.”
“How can you be sure?”
I shrug. “I don’t know. Green gave up too easily. I feel like that’s a good sign, given the circumstances. If the runes help, it should buy us time to figure things out.”
He nods. “Alright.”
I take a seat on the couch, facing him with my legs tucked under myself. He reaches out and takes my hand in his. Daisy trots over and places her head in Thor’s lap and waits patiently for him to pet her. He sighs, smiles, and scratches behind her ears. When he scratches her chin her tongue lols out and Thor chuckles.
“Thank you, Daisy,” he says. “You’re a wonderful companion.”
She licked his hand and sat on his feet, contentedly wagging her tail when he continued to stroke her head. Thor slowly begins to relax and the tension leaves his shoulders when Daisy lifts her head and he leans down to press his nose against hers. He grins when she licks his chin and I laugh.
“I have a feeling that things will be alright,” Heimdall says. “All in due time.”
I nod and run my thumb over Thor’s knuckles. “We’ll figure it out.”
“Hmm?” Thor looks up from Daisy, eyebrows raised.
I shake my head. “Nothing. Just something Heimdall said.”
“Anything important?”
“No, everything’s fine.” He nods and is quickly distracted by Daisy again. “Everything’s fine.”

Part 20 - Explaining and War
Tumblr media
Your POV....
It took me 30 minutes and I was finished. I didn't need the thing to land for me. I can fly. I opened the door, got with my cat and stuff out, turned around, closed the door and went away to the office. There they were, well Bruce and Thor were missing....like Natasha. Fury turned around and saw me first. He looked a little surprised, after he saw me...Tony and Steve saw me also.
"What are you doing ?", Tony asked shocked.
"I am leaving, Tony. Luna isn't happy about it too, but I get pushed into things, which I didn't mean to happen. I am a problem for Mr. Fury, so I will leave. I hope you can find a way to stop Loki, from destroying and ruling our world. Goodbye."
Tony looked at me shocked and then stared at Fury with anger.
"What did she do, Fury ?", Steve asked.
"I....I imputed to her that she has tricked us with Loki and everything...", he answered.
Tony stood up and hit with his hands the table, hard. I flinched like all the others.
"Take that back ! She has no fault in it ! Did you let her explain at least ?!", he yelled at Fury, I was surprised.
"No. I didn't.", he admitted.
"Then let her ! NOW !!", Steve said, also mad.
Fury sighed and looked at me. Waiting for me to explain. I laughed.
"NOW you want me to explain ?! Oh boy...you really are like Odin ! First judging and then asking and listening ?! I am so fed up right now..."
Tony came to me and rubbed my back, after 3 minutes he hugged me, I hugged back and calmed down.
"You wanna know a story ? Short with every detail ?", I asked after I pulled away.
They all nodded. I told them to sit down and they did, I also did.
"First...I am half Jotun and half Asgardian too. Please don't tell Thor for now. Thor knows me, like Loki. I was with them befriends. Loki was the real best friend in my childhood. I lived 7 years in Asgard. 5 years by my parents and 2 years in the castle of Loki and Thor. I disguised myself and changed all my obvious looks. No one ever knew my real me, except my friends, which I knew I could trust. Some dumb shit happened after 2 years were almost full, that I was living in the castle. Odin and Heimdall imputed me on killing some warriors and attacking Heimdall, but I was the whole time with my friends and Loki... Odin didn't believe me and banished me to a lifedead planet. I was there a few weeks or maybe even months until someone found me and took me with themself. 10 years I was there and then I ran away. 342 more years I stayed on Jotunheim and as I was finally ready to let my memories, about my friends and Loki, go...he, Thor, Fandral, Volstagg, Hogun and Lady Sif were in Jotunheim and Thor was so ignorant...that he pushed Loki aside, always. Loki wanted to go home, because what they did was forbidden and the Frost Giants could command war anytime then. Because of Thor, war between Jotunheim and Asgard broke out and Loki actually wanted to avoid that. Thor got banished from Odin and Loki wanted to save Thor from that, but Odin screamed at Loki to shut up and so he did. Loki wasn't always like that. Before Odin saved the others I protected them as good as I could and almost died because of it. Odin and Loki took me with them. In the end Loki and I had an argument and the friendship broke. He fell off of the Rainbowbridge and fell into an 'abyss'. 2 years and now he is here, acting like an asshole. It isn't Loki and I know him well enough. My real name is Destiny Andrea Dust, but I hide that name with Luciella Dusk. Loki knows my real name and nobody else."
Tony, Fury and Steve stared at me.
"And now to the bad Loki and the misjudging. He wanted to see where the scepter was and I showed him, he touched it with one of his fingers and went over it and it put him again under control. He wanted to find out if it was the scepter or something else, that put him under control. I realized it just as it was too late and I threw him into his cell again. I locked the doors again and went outside. Thor is my eyewitness, because he saw me with the scepter in my hand and Loki in his cell again. I told Thor what happened and then went in my room."
"How did you free him from the spell the first time ?", Fury asked.
"I asked Bruce and Hulk. It took some time to convince him, but I made it. Hulk smashed Loki into the ground very fast and hard. It would have killed every mortal, but a God...Loki is probably traumatized... If Hulk can do that again, Loki is the old one again...I think..."
"From where did you know that he wasn't himself ?", Tony asked.
"Loki was always one for Mischief, but that went too far, even for him. He always wanted respect, attention and acceptance. He was never someone for such crazy, sick shit. He is a Prankmaster not a killer. He would never do something, where he knows he could get beheaded for. And he had blue eyes instead of the green ones. His real eyecolor is green not blue. I am shocked that Thor doesn't see that. The real Loki is locked away and gets killed slowly and painfully with every second. The scepter is the reason. We need to do something against that. Now.", I said.
They all looked at eachother.
"You can't give up now ! I need you ! These people need you ! Loki needs us ! Don't tell me we let them all die and get ruled by someone, who isn't even my best friend himself ! I know his errors and this...is not him ! Help them, help me, help him....please.... Tony, Fury, Steve...you all can do it. Don't give up now. Loki's life gets controlled and threatened from someone ! DO SOMETHING, PLEASE.", I begged.
Tony and Steve went away. After 20 minutes they came back.
"We will fight. We won't give up now. Let's get Reindeer Games and kick his sorry ass, until he is the old one again. Lets save New York. And even if we die, we die as heros not as cowards.", Tony said.
"We need a name.... Something. Like a Liga has.", Steve said.
"How about the name like these people wanted to call the team anyways...'The Avengers ?'", I asked them.
Tony and Steve smiled at me.
"If you join us, we take the name. Do you have some powers ?", Tony asked.
"I have a lot.", I said smiling.
"Then leave your things here and put on some fighting clothes. We have a war to win.", Steve and Fury said.
"And to kick some ass.", Tony added.
I smiled, nodded, opened my bag and pulled some clothes of Asgard out. It almost looked like Loki's, just in complete black, then I pulled out my armor...which was completely black too. I ran into a room and changed. As I walked out they all stared at me.
"Wow...you look almost like you don't have armor on.", Tony said.
I grinned.
"This armor is new and Loki doesn't know of it, he will think that I am easy to kill. My helmet is missing....", I said.
"Then get it and put it on.", Steve said.
"Then he knows that I have an armor on. I will later...", I said mischievous.
They nodded and smiled.
"With what do you fight ?", Fury asked.
"I am like Loki. I use Magic to make things appear. I use...daggers, swords, guns, spears and all that...Everything I find as a weapon.", I answered.
Fury nodded. After 20 more minutes, Tony was in his Iron man suit and Steve in his Captain America one. Natasha and Clint came too and we all flew to New York. I used my powers to fly there and was there earlier than Tony. Boy...we go to Stark Tower together.....
Let this shit beginn...

alright you are getting these fast and dirty and in no particular order and these are excluding several fandoms and if the title (if it even has one) doesn’t link somewhere it’s currently unposted
1 - If you had told Darcy when she signed on to be Jane Foster’s Official Gremlin for a semester for the college credits that she’s meet and tase a god, she’d have snorted and asked you where you got the good greens you were toking on.
2 - “his car shot flames” Pepper might have been running a fever when she woke up that morning in her hotel room.
3 - Visiting Hours (from the Biokinetic uiniverse that’s currently being rewritten) Steve isn’t terribly surprised at the idea of Howard being a terrible father.
4 - It’s Not Home Without You There (also biokineticverse) Jane, when Heimdall fetches them, punches the Watcher square in the face.
5 - Of Marksmanship (What Even Is Thor?) (also from biokineticverse) Thor is often boiled down to a simple man: food and fighting.
6 - Varying Degrees Of Sexual Acceptance  “Oh, sorry to just barge in like this to a public area and all. Feel free to keep going though.”
7 - Misstep (old username but still mine) Pepper is mortified when one misstep, despite her careful, certain stride, sends her Bambi-ing across the sidewalk outside a business that she’d just settled a software deal with.
8 - Sunday Mornings Are For Belief (also  from my old username) Darcy is a fan of music.
9 -  Maggie groaned as she shuffled into the sunlight living room of her little house and took in the chaos of everywhere but the loveseat where Steve was sat in a pair of well fitting jeans and a sweater that she had finished knitting and gifted to him half a year before when the trees were the color of fire and the air in her neighborhood smelled like bread and cinnamon and woodsmoke.
10 -  “Oh, that’s dangerous.”
11 -  Bucky had no desire to go to war again.
12 - “this isn't gonna be done until the fourth anniversary is it jfc” the tentative working title of a fic for my wife @mama-dubh Siobhan dragged her hands down her face as her feet carried her through the open floorplan to the kitchen in search of the high-grade caffiene she could hear percolating in the coffee machine.
13 - “science bros crack treated seriously” Steve really didn’t trust a damn thing that Tony and Bruce were up to.
14 - The Taste Of Death’s Kiss; Prologue “Oh, fuck you…” Bucky grumbles as he runs down the alley to crash elbow first through a security door of some swanky office building downtown.
15 -  It feels like being smashed against the glassy black coasts of shattered obsidian.
16 -  "What's that..." Jaskier pauses inside Geralt's tiny, shithole apartment's front door and stares at the enormous electric blue monstrosity that is suction-cupped to the floor in front of the most unnecessary door he's ever seen, holding it open. “uhm... there?”
17 - untiled bucky criminal mins xover au Bucky leaned back in the big leather office chair as he sank into it, a small thermos in his hands.
18 - “stardew valley thingomadingo ‘fantasy au’” The first time Paul sees the thing, he’s fishing in the dead of winter and the Glacierfish gets off his line because he’s distracted.
19 - There Is Pleasure In A Certain Amount Of Exposure (also the old username...) The game is simple. There are a few rules, and they are all easy enough to follow.
20 - With My Every Breath, I Give You This Promise (also that old username) The first thought in Bucky’s head on his and Darcy’s wedding day goes something like, Buchanan, even with an increased metabolism, you are not immune to the morning breath that comes with drinking that hard.
patterns? marvel. smut or crack are my specialties apparently. i really like bucky barnes. i write a lot of female ofcs bc i know m/f or canon characters in slash pairings are what get hits... and if i’m writing a trans character it’s geralt.
Gonna tag... @anotherdayforchaosfay @poisonousbuttercup and any fic writers in my followership if you see this you gotta <3 (that way i can get tagged and go read ur stuff o 3o)

Part 8
Ignoring the disgusting presence of Ego and Puppy, you tried to enjoy the meal.  And you did; well most of the time.
“Were you able to get everything you wanted and needed to?”, Loki asked you with interest.
“Yes, though not every thing was buy able in your stores or the ones Bucky brought me to at first. We had to drive to one of the big Walmart like stores to get the rest.”, you answered preparing the next bite on your fork.
“Really? And what was it that you couldn´t get.”, the man frowned.
“Basic clothes, to wear while in the flat.”, you hummed, “Well, there were some to buy in your stores, but those were not really comfortable, there was something wrong with the feeling on my skin.”
“I will keep that in mind. Has Barnes informed you about the security measures we will install tomorrow?”
“You mean the safe word? Yes, I am already thinking about which one I could chose. I have no idea.”
“Oh save word? That is so useless and over rated. Where is the fun in that?”, Ego suddenly chuckled and your eyes turned big, “ you see, my girls let me do everything I want. You should try it Laufeyson. There is nothing better than fucking just the way you want with no one to care about.”
Excuse me. That is disgusting -
“I like my companions to be their own persons and not holes to fuck.”, Loki almost growled.
“Suit yourself.”, the man shrugged and returned to play with Puppy beneath the table.
“Loki-”, you breathed  no able to mask your disgust.
“Mariella, we are leaving. Please send the check to my office. Heimdall will transfer the amount we own with tips. And please pack two kinds of each dessert you offer for me to take with us.” , the CEO stated while standing up and pulling the chair back for you.
“I will see to it Mr Laufeyson. I will send someone to your Apartment as soon as they are finished.”, the hostess offered a smile.
“Thank you Mariella. Mr Quill, I fear we have to continue our business in a different way and on a different date.”, that were the last words he spoke before guiding you outside.
“Barnes will drive us back. We will meet him somewhere, I need some air after this.”
“Yeah.”, you hummed, “I feel you.”
Silence hung between the two of you while you walked two blocks down the streets where Bucky met you.
“Boss, (y/n), Back to the tower?”, he greeted, already knowing the evening hadn´t gone by in a good way.
“Yes, please.”, the CEO nodded.
__
The next day you had updated the security protocol with your saveword, that would send out an alarm to the security department (speak: Thor and Bucky) and allow them to hear and see what was happening in real time (with maybe 3 seconds delay).
The word you had chosen was “Rosebutt”, and for the occasion of the day you decided to bake some chili after your mothers recipe and invited (after asking Loki of course)  for dinner.
It was served in the common area and you used it to meet those you hadn´t met before. Speak: Mr Tony Stark (head of IT) and Mrs Pepper Potts-Stark (Head of Public relations), they came in the presence of a teenager , Peter Parker, who apparently did a long term internship and was something like the little brother/ son everybody wanted. Anyone of those present would die for that boy and after the evening, you decided you would as well.
He was just so innocent and whole-hearted you knew you would do anything to make him happy.
Peter would definitely get the biggest birthday cake you ever made for his next birthday, that was certain.
___
It was close to Christmas when you received heavy news; news that made you call Pietro to drive you to Loki´s office.
“Good morning (y/n), go right through.”, Heimdall greeted you without looking away from the file-closet he was currently searching.
As always you wondered how he was able to always know everything that was happening.
Loki called it a gift, you called it a talent any good secretary needed but only a few have.
“(y/n), what is wrong? Heimdall informed me that you were in distress coming here.”, the CEO asked you with deep worry in his voice.
“I need to leave.”, you breathed, “My aunt called, my Mom apparently in a bad shape at the moment and her boss told her if my aunt can´t cover the shifts his girlfriend does not want to work, she will lose her job. I need to go home and see after my mom while my aunt has to work double shifts. Neither of them would accept any money to help and-”
Loki looked relieved when he heard you did not want to leave for good but were ´just´ needed at home.
“Heimdall will take care of the flight and everything else. Take as much time as you need and if you need anything else, let me know.”, he nodded, totally ignoring (or not hearing?) your statement you would give him everything you have to offer in return.
You had continued rambling on, not realizing that he had already spoken to you, “And I don´t want anything in return. Family is important. Go, take care of your Mother.”
“Thank you thank you thank you thank you.”, you shouted, though your voice was muffled by his suit. You had started to hug him once you had registered his answer, with your head pressed against his chest.
It took a moment for his surprise to wear of, you usually did not touch him like that, but then he embraced you in his arms and whispered into your hear.
“No need to thank me. Take care and call me.”
“I will. I promise.”
__
“Your flight will leave in three hours from La Guardia. Pietro will drive you back to the tower where you can pack. I already organized for suitcases to be brought up to your room and a car will be waiting in Meadows Field to drive you to your mothers home. If you need a room for any reason, call me and I will have one organized; no matter what time of day.”, Heimdal spoke the second you left the office.
How in the hell does he do that?
“Thank you. And I mean it.”, you almost sobbed, on your way down to the lobby and back into the car.
___
“What are you doing here?”, you stuttered, surprised to see Bucky opening the car-door for you once the car had stopped at the Airport VIP entrance.
“I am your Bodyguard, remember? Where you go, I go. Heimdall called and informed me roughly about what is going on. And before you start to worry: I had nothing to do than working at the club. So no, you do not intervene with any plans I may have had. Now, if you would follow me, someone will get you bags while we will wait in the VIP lounge for boarding.”, your friend and bodyguard spoke before you could even think of apologizing for trashing his plans. All you could do was nod and follow him into the building.
“Take whatever you want. The food is included in the yearly fee Boss is paying. It is really good.”, he smiled, motioning to a buffet that stood on one side of the lounge.
“Maybe. When does the plane start? I don´t think Heimdal gave me an exact time, or a ticket if I think of it.”
“No need for a ticket, trust me, and for the time. I think in one hour, but if there is an earlier opening, someone will come and get us. They won´t leave without us. I can assure you that.”
You wondered what he meant with ´No need for a ticket.´ You never heard about someone being able to fly without one, but it made sense once you left the shuttle (a small limousine) onto the tarmak and stood in front of a private Jet with the Asgardian Logo on its side  towards the end.
“Don´t tell me you thought Boss would make you fly commercial and possibly even economy or first? Let´s go inside. The flight takes a few hours and, the earlier we leave here, the earlier we are at your Mother´s.”

Plot Holes in Infinity War
If you don’t want to see criticism of Infinity War, I suggest that you don’t read/filter your tags/block me.
Now.
Avengers: Infinity War is one of Marvel’s biggest movies, being among the longest MCU movies and quite successful in the box office. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean it’s a great movie. The storyline that calls itself a plot is smashed together in whatever manner makes a few specific scenes happen. That style of writing has its trademarks—plots that could almost be used as cheesecloth. I’m not kidding; there’s tons of them. Some are within the movie. Some fly in the face of the rest of the MCU.
Here’s all the plot holes that I can think of. After the first couple scenes the chronological order gets messed up a little, but here goes.
1. Starting at the beginning here. So...Loki has the Tesseract. Why didn’t he use it to make a portal to get the Asgardian refugees out (or as many as he can, anyway)? We know he can use it. Why didn’t they just start a ship-chase to buy a little time and use that time to evacuate?
2. So, Loki knows Thanos, right? He’d know Thanos’ M.O. Wouldn’t he know that Thanos would go for Thor? Why not stuff Thor in his pocket dimension beforehand? Did Thanos and the Black Order block him from doing that? That’s not what I remember seeing. Loki was standing off sort of on his own at the very beginning of the scene.
3. Where has the Hulk been? Yes, “we have a Hulk” is a cool callback and it looks good as an entrance, but wouldn’t a Hulk be good to have when Thanos and the Black Order were slaughtering the Asgardian refugees? Why was he staying back the whole time? It doesn’t make sense. If he hadn’t been staying back, Thanos and co. would’ve known about him, and the surprise-attack wouldn’t have been a surprise. Was he just sitting on his butt listening to the refugees dying until he heard the words “we have a Hulk”?
4. Once Hulk does attack, Loki dives for Thor and drops the Tesseract. What. Why not just hold onto the Tesseract, grab Thor, and portal out of there? Wouldn’t that make more sense than dropping it for someone else (Ebony Maw) to pick up?
5. Heimdall. Why does Heimdall rescue the Hulk instead of Thor, Loki, or both? He’s known Hulk for maybe a day or two. He’s known Thor and Loki for over a thousand years. What’s going on with that? Why does he save the one he just met as opposed to the ones he’s known since their infancy?
6. More about Heimdall. Since when has he been able to summon the Bifrost? This is a major point of TDW. If Heimdall had been able to summon the Bifrost without the actual structure, Thor and co. wouldn’t have had to break Loki out of prison. How can he suddenly do it now? Why hasn’t he used it before?
7. Where did Loki go during the Hulk-vs-Thanos fight? He disappears after going for Thor for several minutes. Where to? I know people have brought this up before, but I want to know.
8. Why doesn’t he stay there? He’s stuck in a ship with five people who’ve just killed half the refugees his risked his life to rescue, who’d be more than happy to kill him (at best), and they’re more or less ignoring his presence where he currently is. Why go out and deliberately draw their attention?
9. Loki attacking Thanos at all. What is Loki doing?! He knows Thanos better than any other protagonist on that ship. He just saw Thanos beat Hulk one-on-one. Why does he think this is something he should do?!
10. More on that stupid, stupid attack. Loki’s got plenty of powers and abilities. Super-strength, durability, insane reflexes, freaky intelligence, combat skills, ice manipulation, illusions, invisibility, teleportation (this is canon, check out Thor: Heroes and Villains), shapeshifting, telekinesis, off the top of my head. I probably forgot something. Loki overpowered Odin. He has all this and likely more at his disposal, and he attacks Thanos with what? A knife. One knife that barely reaches Thanos’s throat.
11. Another thing about this attack. Considering the above, he probably knew he was going to die. So why did he do it? People say that he was sacrificing himself for Thor. Except...him dying wouldn’t have stopped Thanos at all. Thanos could’ve just killed Thor after Loki’s death. Loki dying or Loki being alive wouldn’t change a thing. And besides, Thanos all but did that anyway when he blew up the ship.
12. Thanos killing Loki. The Russos said that Thanos killed Loki for ‘disobedience’. Presumably this means Loki’s ‘disobedience’ in Avengers (2012). But...death is not what Thanos (or his underling the Other, rather) threatened Loki with for failure/disobedience. The threat was, “if you fail, if the Tesseract is kept from us, there will be no realm, no barren moon or crevice where he can’t find you. You think you know pain? He will make you long for something sweet as pain.” That is...not death. Definitely not what Thanos actually did.
13. Still more on Thanos killing Loki. Let’s look at the insane stuff Loki’s survived so far: falling into an unstable wormhole (in the prequel comics, Odin claims that this should have scattered Loki across the universe), a year of torture from Thanos, getting thrashed by the Hulk (who’s nearly as strong as Thanos), taking a sword through his chest and back, and getting knocked out of the Bifrost (note that Thor seems somewhat surprised with his “you’re alive!” in Ragnarok). And now apparently getting his neck broken is going to kill him.
14. Okay, finally done with the first scene. How did Heimdall know about the Sanctum? How did he know to send Bruce/Hulk there? How did he know about Strange? Thor and Loki didn’t know that Earth had wizards in Ragnarok. How does Heimdall know? Did they tell him? When? They’ve been pretty busy.
15. Dr. Strange keeps a list of threats, but he doesn’t know about Thanos. He doesn’t even seem to know that a threat so large exists. I suppose this could be a case of Thanos simply never having been to Earth, but it still seems off. Wouldn’t Strange at least know that there’s something huge out there? Given that the Masters of the Mystic Arts know about beings around the multiverse and all.
16. How does Bruce know so much about Thanos and the Infinity Stones, or that Thanos sent Loki? He knows what Thanos does. He knows that Thanos is after the Stones. How? No one tells him this stuff onscreen. Was there some mysterious conversation somewhere between Ragnarok and Infinity War where everyone shared all the information that they had? Wouldn’t they have been busy organizing the refugees in the ship/finding quarters for everyone/figuring out how to get food and water for the trip? You know, stuff that’d seem more immediately relevant?
17. How does Thor know that the Aether was on Knowhere? This is never discussed onscreen. I’m seriously suspecting that info-dump conversation. But still, why were they having an info-dump conversation? Wouldn’t the things mentioned in item 15 be more immediate concerns? It’s not like they all knew that they were about to need this information.
18. Thanos’s plan and “making sense”. No plot-hole list of IW would be complete without this. Thanos believes that there is too much life in the universe for its resources to sustain. For the sake of argument alone, I’ll assume that he’s correct for the duration of this point on the list. Thanos has decided that in order to save all life in the universe, he needs the Infinity Stones to “balance” the ratio of life to resources. Okay, that’s fairly logical. He can do anything with the Infinity Stones. Here comes the weird part. He decides that the only way to “balance” the universe is to kill half of all life...including (according to the Russos) plants and animals. AKA resources. Remember, he’s devoted decades at minimum to the development of this plan. And this is the best he can come up with. He’s got unlimited power. Couldn’t he use the Space and Reality Stones to move beings around to other planets with more resources? Couldn’t he use the Reality Stone to make more resources? No, gotta kill half the life he’s ‘trying to save’ and the resources they use as well. That doesn’t change the ratio at all. It doesn’t accomplish his stated goal.
19. Gamora. How does Gamora know what the Soul Stone is? The Collector had to explain Infinity Stones to her as well as the rest of the Guardians in GOTG Vol 1. So how would she know what the Soul Stone was, let alone where it was?
20. What exactly did Thanos do to the Zen-Whoberi (I think that’s how you spell Gamora’s species)? In IW, Thanos says that the remaining population of her planet is thriving. However, in GOTG Vol 1, it’s stated onscreen that Gamora’s the last of her species. Did Thanos kill all the Zen-Whoberi or half of them? If the latter, did the other half die off because—gasp!—his plan hadn’t worked on their planet? In that case, is Thanos just even more massively deluded than I previously thought, is he lying, or is it someone else who’s thriving on Gamora’s home-world?
21. How did Steve, Sam, and Nat wind up exactly where Wanda and Vision needed them to be? They’d moved quite a bit from their initial location during the fight with Proxima and Corvus. I know, I’m nitpicking, but still.
22. How does Nat, an unpowered but skilled human, manage to overpower Corvus Glaive, a member of the Black Order who’s presumably far stronger and also highly skilled? Yeah, she took him by surprise, but it shouldn’t have been easy at the very least.
23. Steve denying Vision the choice to sacrifice himself. As others have pointed out, Steve made a very similar decision back in CA:TFA. He chose to dive a plane into the ocean, which would—he thought—kill him, to save many lives. Now, Vision’s decided that Wanda should destroy the Mind Stone in his forehead, which would kill him, to save many more lives. Why is Steve denying Vision the ability to make the choice that he made himself? (Hint: It’s so they can have a cool-looking final battle to save Vision and then have him die anyway.)
24. Speaking of destroying the Mind Stone. Isn’t destroying Infinity Stones supposed to be impossible? This was another major point in TDW. Jane only came across the Aether (Reality Stone) in that movie because there was no way to destroy it and Bor had to settle for hiding it. Malekith gets the Aether because they still couldn’t destroy it. Infinity Stones are either indestructible or they’re not. Which is it?
25. “We don’t trade lives,” says Steve, right before he decides to trade hundreds if not thousands of Wakandan lives to save the life of his friend (who’d already decided that he wanted to sacrifice himself). Um, what?
26. T’Challa agreeing to risk his countrymen is iffy. He’s agreeing to send hundreds (if not thousands) or his people to their deaths to save one person with a lengthy, experimental procedure. And again, that one person has already voiced the opinion that they should just destroy the Mind Stone while they still can, whether it kills him or not. Wouldn’t T’Challa respect that decision, especially since it’s the one that saves the most lives?
27. When the Titan crew pins Thanos, why are they just trying to take the gauntlet off his hand? Tony at least has been in/witnessed (it’s been a while since I saw IM3) a fight that involved cutting off the villain’s hand. Wouldn’t he have thought of this during the planning stage? They could’ve stuck Thanos’ wrist through one of Dr. Strange’s portals and cut it off. No gauntlet, no snap.
28. How does Thor know to come to Wakanda? I get that he knows there are Infinity Stones on Earth. But last time he was on Earth, Vision was in New York, wasn’t he? How would he know that Vision was now in Wakanda? How would he know that the battle was there? Does Rocket have an Infinity Stone-sensing device? Why didn’t this come up?
29. Why did Thor go for Thanos’ chest? Thor generally goes for the head when he’s fighting. Except, of course, for this time. Why? Wouldn’t he want to make absolutely sure that Thanos was dead? (Besides so Thanos could win?)
30. If not the head, why didn’t Thor at least go for the gauntlet hand? In TDW his and Loki’s plan to deceive Malekith involved Loki pretending to cut Thor’s hand off so he couldn’t use his weapon. Wouldn’t Thor have some vague memory of the whole ‘if you remove your enemy’s weapon hand, they won’t be able to fight’ thing?
I guess it’s pretty obvious where I spent most of my time looking.
I’ve probably forgotten some, seeing as I watched this thing, what, one and a half times last year, when it came out and shortly afterwards. Any additions?

4, 14, and 15
4. Has your cat ever done something that surprised you?
All of them have in little ways. But honestly the most surprising thing was how well adjusted Simcoe and Citra are after the work we put into them. It was tough, and we honestly didn’t expect much from either of them. We thought we’d adopt them, and they would just kind of live in the house with us, and it would be a better reality than what they had before, but that would kind of be it. Simcoe has become my shadow and absolutely loves Jon and I and it’s been so rewarding. Citra approaches strangers for attention when we swore neither one of them would ever leave the space under the bed.
14. Where does your cat like to sleep?
All of the cats sleep in our windowsills. We have 3 windows with thick windowsills, 1 in the kitchen, 1 in the living room, and 1 in the office. They also all sleep on the bed and then in various cat trees. Certain cats prefer different trees and different levels. Seymour, Citra, and Simcoe all sleep in the beanbag chair in our office whenever it’s empty. It’s prime real estate apparently.
15.Does your cat prefer to be on the ground or up high?
Heimdall prefers the ground. It’s more about his size and knowing that most things made for cats can’t hold him. We even get sturdy cat trees made for bigger cats and he’s still not crazy about them. He likes being up in our window sill because it’s about a foot wide and he feels secure in them. But he’s a ground boy.The others honestly all depend on what they’re feeling. They can hide under the bed or behind the couch but also want to be up high in the cat tree. They’re all pretty up for whatever is available and whatever they need in the moment.
