wyll and karlach hcs please!

i love these two. they could be the classic enemies to lovers, but wyll's soft heart and karlach's personality just skip that to be friends to lovers once their priorities align.

karlach is smitten right away when wyll chooses his unknown punishment over killing her like he's been commanded to do. she hasn't seen that sort of kindness in a very long time in her life

wyll is weary of her still, but his whole world is shattering and breaking. he's been indoctrinated to not kill innocents, to be the hero, and yet he was sent to kill karlach, an innocent forced to fight a devil's war.

when mizora changes him, he feels even more isolated, his head heavy with horns, claws, and bumps in new places. karlach is the first one to offer her assistance because of his sacrifice for her.

she gets him some horn balm from the tieflings and helps him apply it the best she can without touching him

their eyes meet and there are mental sparks for both of them. wyll is quick to tamper his feelings, thinking it's just the long hours and battles. karlach goes to bed with him on her mind. wakes up with him on her mind.

when she can touch, wyll plans a small celebration between the two where they dance under the sun and talk and laugh. karlach is antsy as all she wants to do is kiss him, but senses his reservations. as he walks her to her tent, he stands on his tiptoes and kisses her cheek. he kisses her hand and bows. not satisfied with that, karlach bends down, tilting the man's face up to kiss him.

karlach respects wyll's want to wait but that doesn't stop her from sneaking in kisses while she rubs horn balm on his itchy horns, whispering all the things she wants to do to him when they sleep at night.

in contrast, wyll tells her about their future because she will live and they will find a way to keep her on the surface.

in baldur's gate, karlach shows him all the places she used to go and wyll tells her about his memories of the places too

when wyll asks her to marry him, karlach's heart almost explodes to the moon. she never thought she'd find love, let alone someone who wants to make it that official. she flashes the acorn off to anyone who asks, keeping it in her pocket near her heart.

happy surface ending: wyll reaches out to the gondians and they make a breakthrough just in time for karlach's heart to extend her time. they make a breakthrough with the leftover steelwatcher's materials they can scrounge.

wyll won't let her perish after everything they'd done and volunteers his livelihood to go fight in the hells with her. their names go down in history as the best warriors the hells have seen.
