I'm not one to just move on so easily from a passion I've had for over a decade. There may be more active fandoms, but I can't quite use them the same way I can with this one.

Even if I really love a story and its characters, a lot of times the most I'm inspired to do with it is draw a picture. I'm typically not that interested in roleplaying or writing a fic because I don't have enough to add that I would be motivated to write a story for. There aren't always many blanks to fill unless I'm super invested in some kind of ship, which doesn't usually happen.

Sure you can do AUs, but Hetalia just feels better made for them?

Something like Death Note is self-contained and told its story. Hetalia can literally encompass all of time. There's no end because history is ongoing.

When it comes to The Hunger Games, something like an actor AU is so far removed from the story. It often feels like canon universes are just too ingrained in the characters, so that if you remove them they lose a major piece of who they are.

The characters in HG are mainly seen under pressure and intense situations, and it could be hard to convert their trauma into a normal world actor AU. Even if it's in the same dystopian universe and you just alter circumstances, making the characters professional actors could cause them to be too different.

One might think that's the case with Hetalia, as countries are bound to be different from humans, but in the source material they are shown in both historical and completely normal situations. Hetalia is full of all kinds of things, every part of life, both serious and not. We get to see them act like regular people, and that's the sort of thing that gives us an idea of how they would be in other universes. We even have canon AUs.

Even with nationverse, there are so many blanks to fill and details to add, because Hima can't possibly add everything.

Hetalia has some amazing potential and perks. It may not be the only fandom that allows for extra creativity, but it still feels pretty unique and special.

I can easily get into other shows/movies/etc., but getting into their fandoms to this level is an entirely different story. Sure, you can be creative in any fandom if you really try, but Hetalia just lets it happen so naturally.

A: Of the fanfic you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

Dunno. I'm very happy with my BC fics in general. I think my favorite is There's something so wretched about this (something so precious about this) over on my main. It's a Hux comic inspired Kylux fic. And Fargo. I also love Built to Roam (mer!Aleksi) 😭😭

B:  What was the first fandom you read fic in?  Which was the first you wrote fic for?

I don't remember since my journey from OC rp in YA book setting to fanfic was very fluid. Sometimes characters end up on side quests and in that moment you aren't writing and it basically becomes fanfic 😂 But it must've been Hunger Games. I think someone from one of our Hunger Games rp wrote a separate story for their OC on fanfiktion.de (yes, you can still find my stuff from 2011, 2012 or 2013 on there).

I don't remember the first fic I wrote. It must've been Hunger Games, Hetalia or Kuroshituji (Black Butler). It's possibly still online or I have the paper draft 😂

D: What’s the most personal fanfic you’ve written?

Story for a Hunger Games OC.

Boy, young teenage me trying to cope was like "this is just fantasy, it's an interesting setting, this an OC is not my feelings. I never finished it but I still have the paper draft. No, I don't re-read it.

More recently and way less dark a Christmas story set in a fictional version of my hometown and Fargo. Boy did I not expect to write ace!Aleksi and how similar his feelings turned out to mine.

Some Conversation (Hetalia/Hunger Games)

The child was so light.  Germania wasn’t sure what children should weigh, but he was sure that they shouldn’t be this light.  He put the boy down after he finalized the adoption, and the kid didn’t bolt, so Germania took that as a win.  

“How old are you?”  Germania asked.  It probably said somewhere in his papers, but Germania hadn’t actually read them.

“Seven,” the boy said.  Germania had no frame of reference, but he thought seven-year-olds were supposed to be bigger.

“Here,” Germania said, digging into his pocket and pulling out a granola bar.  Gilbert took it and examined the packaging suspiciously like he suspected Germania had poisoned it somehow.  Apparently satisfied, he carefully tore it open.

“Don’t eat too quickly,” Germania warned.  The kid gave him a look that said, “Do you think I’m an idiot?”

Gilbert ate very slowly as they walked, as if to savor it forever, not wasting a single crumb.

“What’s a granola?”  Gilbert asked once he had finished it.

“It’s oats, mostly,” Germania, “I think that one had raisins.”

“Yes,” Gilbert said, “I read the ingredients.”  He pronounced “ingredients” like “ingrehdients”, as if he had never actually heard anyone say it out loud before, “It has oats and corn syrup and a bunch of other stuff and raisins. But what’s it for?”

“Eating,” Germania said.

“Obviously, you big idiot, but why ? Who eats it? I’ve never seen one before.”

“It’s a Capitol thing, I think,” Germania said, “Rich people food.”

“Are you a rich people?”

“Yes.”

“I thought rich people ate everything on fancy plates that break if you sneeze on them.”

“Yes, but sometimes we just want a snack, or we’re too busy to have a sit-down meal.”

“You’re too lazy to sit down?” Gilbert said.

Germania sighed.  “You’re really not afraid of me, are you?”  he said.  Not that Germania was complaining, but it was fascinating, and entirely inexplicable.

Gilbert shrugged his tiny shoulders, “What’d be the point?” he asked, with a defeated sort of world-weariness that caught Germania off guard, and made him suddenly want to go back and throttle the man who ran the orphanage.

“Besides,”  Gilbert added smuggly, “I’m not the one who’s bleeding.”

Germania glanced at his arm.  Technically he wasn’t bleeding anymore, but the small round mark of a child’s teeth was still very visible, and dried blood flaked on his skin.

There was a little motel in the town.  The town itself existed because it was half-way between The Mine (which was where the factory was and all the artisans worked, and was really the capital city of One, but wasn’t called that, obviously, because districts don’t have capitals, or cities) and the Upper Mine Settlement, which was important even though it was one of the least useful of the gem mines dotted across One, because it was where the horses for the Capitol were bred.

Of course, if anyone really important wanted to go to the Upper Mine Settlement, this little motel wouldn’t matter, because they would just make the journey in an hour by car.

Still, though, the establishment was made for One’s wealthier citizens.  It had four large rooms that were clean and well lit, each with its own television and even a small refrigerator.  The beds had soft, Capitol style mattresses, blankets, sheets and pillows, and the rooms were decorated in bright colors with paintings depicting One’s majestic natural landscape and the many beautiful things unearthed there.  And it cost a fortune to spend a night there.

“Do you live here?”  Gilbert asked, staring around the room with two twin beds and a window facing the mountains, his eyes wide with awe.

“No,” Germania said, “We’re just staying here for the night.  You can pick the bed you want.”

Gilbert’s mouth opened in an o.  He looked at the beds, then he looked at Germania, then back at the beds again.  He stared intently at Germania’s face as if looking for a sign, and Germania stared blankly at the nightstand between the two beds.  Germania got the distinct impression that no adult had offered Gilbert a choice before.

“I want that one,” Gilbert said, pointing to the bed closer to the door and away from the window, with the attitude of someone very deliberately springing a trap.

“Cool,” Germania said, and flopped down onto the other bed.   Gilbert narrowed his eyes at him for a moment, then climbed up onto his own bed.  He bounced experimentally.

“What’s this made out of?” he asked.

“Don’t know,” Germania said, “There’s springs inside.”

Gilbert stood on the bed and jumped.  Germania considered the likelihood that the kid would fall off the bed and break his head open on the wood floor.  He decided it was low.  He glanced at the clock on the wall.  It was eight pm.  When were kids supposed to go to bed?  He was pretty sure it was early.

The kid got tired of jumping on the bed in just a few seconds and sat down again.

“Where do you live?” he asked.

“At The Mine,” Germania said.

“Will I live there?” Gilbert asked.

“You’ll live at The Mine, but not with me.  You’ll live at the Victor’s school.”

“People live at the school?”  Gilbert asked.

“It has dormitories, though a lot of kids live with their families if they’re at The Mine.”

“So it’s like an orphanage where they teach you stuff and the kids’ parents aren’t dead yet.”

Aren’t dead yet , Germania thought, what a morbid way of putting it.

“Yeah, pretty much.”

Gilbert yawned.  He looked really tired.  Kids probably were supposed to go to sleep after the sun went down, right?  He turned out the light.

“That’s enough talking,” he said, “go to sleep.”

Bloodstained

It's not yet over.

He's breathing harshly, rapid and desperate beneath the palm clamped over his nose and mouth, every breath rattling in his lungs and escaping in shuddering gasps. He's heaving, his entire body is shaking and eyes burning with unshed tears as his knees nearly knock together as bile creeps up his throat and threatens to stain the front of his nightgown.

Oh God, ohGodohGod—

He steps forward, collapsing into the spilled blood which taints the once pure marble of his father's mansion—and oh God, there's so much, so, so much crimson trickling through his fingers and marring the ivory silk of his night clothes— Arthur heaves, hands flying up to cover his mouth, choking back the bile and the terror spreading throughout his limbs and taking refuge in his chest and clambering up his throat, wanting to come out in a rush of vomit and desperation. He's heaving still, shuddering and gasping as tears stream down his cheeks and he manages to stand on his own two feet, ignoring the still-warm pool of blood about his bare feet.

He staggers forward, grasping at the walls, staining the elaborate wallpaper with his bloodstained fingers as he looks for anyone—anyone who's still alive, who hasn't been pulled apart into a mess of blood and viscera by the rebels, led by the Mockingjay.

Arthur comes to a halt, then, his breaths coming short and fast as he holds his hands close to his chest. It's not long until he runs, ignoring the way his feet nearly slip and slide upon the bloodstained tiles, and he is embraced by those black-and-white clad arms, a voice whispering into his ear.

"It's over, it's over, princess," he hears his alpha say, his voice warm and soothing as his tears spill down his cheeks, soiling his mate's shirt. "It's finally over."

His father, President Kirkland, is dead, and Arthur Kirkland-Jones is finally free.

Gosh, I wanna ROLEPLAY!

So, hello everyone! I'm Ellie and I made this blog looking for someone new to roleplay with who prefers long format, (20+ lines) descriptive 1x1 style roleplays. (edit: preferably each of us playing our character + the partner´s love interest/s, rather than just interacting w/each other as characters!)

I roleplay almost exclusively Hetalia, but always with some fun twist or AU, and I'm also totally open to stuff like the Arcana, Dragon Age, etc. As long as it's fantasy/scifi and I know it, I'm down!

I'll post a list bellow of my personal favourite (hetalia) storylines and hopefully it'll inspire one of you or give you an idea for something new! I always love to hear it so feel free to reach out whenever.

 'Angels and Demons'

Angels are hardly the rosy cheeked cherubs that you might think, but rather powerful warriors who live hidden from the rest of the world, protecting it from their darker counterparts. Demons are highly territorial and love to wreak havoc wherever they go, always looking to one-up each other. They're not above capturing angels to harness their powers, and maybe take a trophy or two. Who doesn't love a nice set of wings mounted over the fireplace?

'1950's Cyberpunk'

Step into the big city filled with glamour, exclusive galas and excitement! Where the elites of the world mingle at the top, and the rest, well... Live in poverty at the bottom. Gangs rule the stinking underbelly of the city, the police have eyes everywhere and discarded android servants are reused as makeshift assassins to earn their keep.

A misfortunate situation gets you in hot water with a terrifying pirate captain and you're forced onto their ship, watching your town shrink ever smaller and disappearing beyond the horizon. However will you get out of this mess now?

The wheels never stop turning at the Capital. King Francis Bonnefoy is the ruler of the Glasswater Isles, but there's been whispers of uprisings, rebellions and betrayal. Everyone knows the Kirklands have been hungering to take the throne for generations and the harsh winter hasn't made lord Braginski any kinder. When they all come together for the king's birthday celebrations, will swords clash? Sparks fly? Or doom be upon us?

9:  What are the best things about your current fandom?

THERE’S ACTUALLY LOTS OF PEOPLE IN THIS FANDOM????? The bulk of my writing for a long time was for Cabal and Lockwood and while I knew everyone in the fandoms (and you were all fantastic people and I’m friends with a lot of you still today), they were VERY TINY. Crit Role was a bit bigger, but also?? The Vaxleth portion is surprisingly small. Friends at the Table? Dedicated, but the content producing/fan interaction is small. Rusty Quill + Magnus Archives? Good god I’ve never received so many kudos and comments on works before. Thanks for making me feel validated. 

15:  Is there an obscure ship which you love?

I captain the SS Signet/Echo for myself and (/counts on fingers) 5 other people? at most? I wrote 85k for this ship and i will go down with it 

16:  Are their any popular ships in your fandom which you dislike?

Yes! I won’t name them, because I will write any ship for Money or Validation, and also I do not want to get into it with anyone who does ship those things.
