Just Dizziness - Chapter 7

This continued on. Sarah even got me a hiddles mood shirt she found on etsy.

"I thought you might like it."

She was right. I loved it! It started becoming one of my favorite things to wear.

Finally, one day she convinced me to go with her to grab ice cream from the corner store. It felt good to get out, get fresh air, not that I would admit it.

"Please come back...." I heard faintly. I looked around but couldn't see anyone. I figured there was someone maybe on their phone a few aisles away and went to go find my friend.

"I love you so much." Hearing the same voice again, I looked around. I swear it sounded like the same man I heard at home, but it couldn't be. Maybe it was? Maybe it was a new neighbor? That's it. That's what it had to be.

"Did you find everything?" The cashier asked us.

"Pretty much. It's so quiet in here. Where is everyone?"

"It happens sometimes, but today has been weirdly quiet. You two are the only ones to come in here for the past hour. "

I listened to the exchange between Sarah and the cashier. That couldn't be. I heard someone just a few minutes ago.  Once the groceries were paid for, we gathered our shopping bags and headed back to the apartment.

With new ice cream and other goodies now in our possession, I armed myself with what I was willing to snack on (that would get my bestie off my back) and went back to my usually scheduled program.

When I woke up the next day, I could hear soft singing.

I slowly opened my eyes, but the singing faded away. I swear it was the same voice but dismissed it.  It was probably just a dream, anyways.

Sarah had been doing some thinking and thought she would try to get me out of the apartment more often like yesterday.  "How about we run to the coffee shop? We can get your favorite drink, maybe a pastry, and then come back? "

I thought for a moment and then nodded in agreement. It was nice getting out, and the fresh air did feel nice.  We got ready and headed to the nearby coffee shop. There was a short line which was nice.  I didn’t really feel like waiting. When it was time to order, she ordered for us both.

I looked around for the person quoting Shakespeare but couldn't find anyone who seemed to match the voice. It was, again, the same voice that seemed to be following me.  As quick as it came, it left again.  I already thought I was going crazy before. A mysterious male voice seemed to fit right in. I laughed to myself at the step up in my situation.

Soon enough, my order was ready, and we headed back.  When we stepped out of the cafe, I spotted a bookstore I had completely forgotten about. I grabbed my friend's hand and pulled her to it.  She didn't even attempt to struggle, excited that I wanted to stop somewhere else.

Going inside, the smell of the books was so nice. I spotted Ballard's book High Rise and decided to get it.  She looked happy to see me get something different to read, seemingly forgetting there was a movie version of the book with my favorite actor.

In all fairness, Henry Cavill was mad at what they were doing in The Witcher and the dude left the series, so if Hiddleston was against what they're doing to Loki he could do the same.

Of course we don't know what kind of contract he has signed so I'm willing to accept he might not be allowed to quit just like that, but look at what Ben is saying ever since MoM was released. He has a bunch of movies to do, he's the face of the Multiverse Saga in fact, but in every single interview he does he complains about Stephen's role in MoM (in a polite way because he's a polite guy but still). All I've heard from Hiddleston are stupid quotes about how good Mobius is to Loki, how much of a friend he is to him and how happy he is that Loki is now "quieter" than before.

Maybe it's just me because I'm not a fan of Hiddleston but he doesn't seem to be against the new portrayal of Loki, quite the opposite, in fact... 🤷‍♀️

… I literally just stated like a bajillion names of celebs with crushes on her. No, I don’t know how her relationships went - neither does anyone that wasn’t in them like her besties won’t know the ins and outs and tbh her and the guys will have different takes - but it’s BIZARRE to say “she portrayed it as though she was the bad bitch dumping them” because if she had done that we wouldn’t be having this convo at all? Clearly the perception is “she can’t keep a man” which still doesn’t correlate to hotness but anyway.

Let’s discuss some of the guys (not an exhaustive list) who’ve hooked up with her or dated her and seemed very very into her: her first boyfriend, Drew Dunlap, who dated her for a year and loved her playing Our Song for him publicly and tells his friends he’s the Drew from Teardrops even though he isn’t; Drew from Teardrops who showed up at her house the moment he found out he’s the Drew from Teardrops; Sam Armstrong from Should’ve Said No who got dumped for cheating while she was away but then worked to win her back before getting dumped again. Lucas Till who says she’s a great kisser and like gossip/rumors say he still talks about her and dating her TODAY and says cardigan is about him (maybe as a joke but still). Jake Gyllenhaal who tried to get her back multiple times and who described the album as like looking in a picture album. Will Anderson who wrote multiple songs about her. Harry Styles who wrote multiple worse songs about her. Douglas Booth who was embarrassed of dating her publicly but kept running around with her. Tom Odell who wrote THE MOST EMBARRASSING SONG about sex with her. Matty Healy who also ran around after her even while pretending publicly he’s not that keen. Calvin Harris who was legit obsessed. Hiddles who embarrassed himself on main after she danced with him and kept doing so after the breakup and still looks up tweets about them both (as per the like). Joe Jonas broke up with her but as I said it was complicated - according to him - and he did seem keen for a brief period to get back together but that’s very in another life. She broke up with John although he famously didn’t see it as dating so tricky situation. She broke up with Taylor Lautner but he’s still a proper fucking fan. Evan Spiegel broke up with her according to his version (which he clearly likes telling since his employee knew it) but she still got the last word even in that story.

Idk man like I just… don’t know.

Also defs missing some people tbh.

And even if all those dudes *had* broken up with her like being that prolific is nothing to scoff at.

So I followed you for hiddles, and here I am becoming increasingly obsessed with the american variant and I’ve been watching SNW all week 😂😭 are there any of his other shows or movies you’d recommend?

Hiya! Well, I guess that's a hazard of following this blog these days.

As someone who only started paying attention to him when he was on Discovery in 2019, here are my thoughts...

I am not going to sit through every B movie he's made over the years. The Anson from 20 years ago, 15 years ago, maybe even 10 years ago doesn't appeal to me. Something has happened to this man as he has gotten older. It isn't just a physical aging, it's also his growth as an actor and I am sure he has also been impacted by life experience. He's just seasoned now and it is a thing of beauty.

I haven't watched Hell On Wheels because it appeared rather dire and depressing to me when I first heard about it and as much as I usually like seeing a good actor in distress, I often avoid something when it is the current good actor who has taken my fancy. However, there are five seasons to get through, so that could occupy you for a while. :)

If you've already seen SNW, I recommend giving Discovery a try. It's very different in some major ways, so be prepared. @happycabbage and I just watched his episode of CSI:Miami and he was what I thought he would be: a sort of semi-douchy suspect. I just today watched the episode of Law and Order he was on and I remembered it. I remembered thinking that the actor (I didn't know his name at the time) was great for the specifics of the character, it was perfect casting. Give that a whirl.

To sum up, having not seen his entire body of work, I would say his best years are now and I would watch the episode of L&O, Discovery and Hell On Wheels.

Okay, fine, I have one more comment...I saw a quote from him that he never got period pieces because casting directors told him that he looked too "contemporary" and that makes me very curious which roles he wanted and/or actually got to audition for but did not get.

I lied, I have another comment...like his OG, I really hope the future offers him more comedy because he has talent for it and that aspect of his skills has been under-used so far.

Remember when Hiddles was on Josh Horowitz’ podcast and did a weird PSA about being with Taylor during the interview?
