The painting process I made last month for an art challenge! I’m still not a fan of painting with green yet, but I’ll give it another go sometime and keep on trying!
Showcasing art from some of my favourite artists, and those that have attracted my attention, in the field of visual arts, including vintage; pulp; pop culture; books and comics; concert posters; fantastical and imaginative realism; classical; contemporary; new contemporary; pop surrealism; conceptual and illustration.
First, this does not include any fan weeks happening during April, nor does this mean no one should post their work they’ve been creating (unless you want to/are ok with postponing it’s release).
As for the rest of us, I’m so tired of feeling like a pawn in BB and SJM’s ploy to milk as much money out of this fandom as possible.
They stay silent even when the fandom is toxic, artists have been bullied off of platforms or driven away from doing SJM related artwork, they care so little about marketing and engaging with us that I feel like we’ve been abandoned. And they do this and get away with this bc of how active we are as a fandom. Their silence has gotten to a point where it’s genuinely hurt our fandom, as individuals and as a whole.
They think their silence is ok. Well let’s see how they feel about our silence. No free marketing, no free promo, no free hype. For the entire month of April, let’s ban together and show them how powerful we really are. If you want to participate, it’s quite simple, please refrain from posting about SJM’s books, characters, worlds, future books, series, art, fics, theories, HCs, etc. On all platforms.
I understand with how big SJM is on social media that being completely silent is unlikely, but even is a portion of us refrain from talking about her and her works, I think that will send a powerful message to BB and her team that we’re over their bs.
If you want to participate, please help spread the word! Reblog, share on other platforms, take screen shots and send to your group chats, etc! Let everyone know!
Never thought I'd say this, but I finally painted with my one fear -- green. As much as I hate and avoid painting with the colour, I think it actually turned out pretty cool I think! It’s a scene from from one of my favourite films, ‘House of Flying Daggers’ because green features so heavily in the film and it’s one of the first things that came to mind. It was going to be either this, or a portrait of Shrek #brbchasingdreams
