#Hulk deserves a series or movie

Controversial opinion but Captain Carter's presence should not have extended past season 1 of What If. While I have enjoyed this version of Peggy, not only does the series not need a main recurring character, it shouldn't be going back to the SAME version of the character again and again. The fun of What If is getting something, or someone, new each episode and the 3 episodes that Captain Carter was the focus of this season could've easily been used to spotlight some other female superheroes.
For example, it should been Captain Marvel who Wanda summoned in 1602 instead. That would've been a really nice moment for her, especially since outside of her movies, all she gets are cameos. Wanda herself could've teamed up with Kahhori in the finale to fight Supreme Strange for a twisted reversal of Multiverse of Madness. The Hydra Stomper episode could've been about Shuri, She-Hulk, Kamala, Yelena, anybody else really. The point is just something different.
Anyways, I'm hoping that they put this version of the character to rest and move on in season 3 because there are plenty of other characters that deserve the screentime.

what book I would give each current formula one driver to introduce them to the joy of reading
an intellectual exercise no one* asked for
Max Verstappen: Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond - if you are nd and have read this book, you may understand me. otherwise just trust me. the impetus for this post
Checo Perez: The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White - this is an excellent read-aloud book for Sergio Jr.'s age, and there is nothing as wonderful as reading a compelling book to a kid you love, imho
Charles Leclerc: The Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman - he is on the record as a Potter enjoyer. also, I think he would enjoy having a little animal friend
Carlos Sainz: Priestdaddy by Patricia Lockwood - okay yes this is partially a joke about the title, but this is a hilarious and wonderful memoir, about weird families and Catholicism, and I think Carlos would enjoy it.
Lando Norris: Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett - in my mind Lando is a little bit like @bright-and-burning but less cool, so this fits. also, the combination of high number of jokes/page + action/mystery seems like a good fit
Oscar Piastri: Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie - this book has the kind of mystery that really draws you in, plus I think Oscar would dig the questions about AI it digs into. I choose to believe with zero evidence that he would be interested in the funky gender stuff
Fernando Alonso: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell - look me in the eye and tell me this book wasn't written for Fernando Alonso
Lance Stroll: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card - yeah
Lewis Hamilton: Die Trying by Lee Child - Lewis deserves to read mildly trashy thrillers <3 plus there's a Tom Cruise movie
George Russell: Changing My Mind by Zadie Smith - as a proud Brit, George should be reading one of the premiere English authors of the 21st century. her first book of essays is a fun and readable place to start
Yuki Tsunoda: Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel - I don't have a Yuki-lore explanation, I just want to give him one of my favorite books
Daniel Ricciardo: The Gunslinger by Steven King - The Dark Tower series is Lord of the Rings-esque in scope but Western-inflected in aesthetic and written by The Horror Guy, I think DR would enjoy
Alex Albon: The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer by Siddhartha Mukherjee - I say this with so much love in my heart, but Alex wants to be seen as smart. this book is brilliantly written pop science
Logan Sargeant: Bloomability by Sharon Creech - yes this is a book for tween girls, but it's about boarding school in Switzerland, and Sharon Creech is a genius. if I could convince him to read it, I think he would love it
Valtteri Bottas: The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien - what are hobbits if not humanoid moomins?
Zhou Guanyu: Piranesi by Susannah Clarke - a fun, exciting, stylishly written book for a stylish guy
Kevin Magnussen: Watership Down by Richard Adams - rabbit warfare <3
Nico Hulkenberg: A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles - Hulk SEEMS like a Dad Who Reads Historical Fiction, even if he isn't yet
Pierre Gasly: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo - I almost said A Game of Thrones but I don't think that would be good for him. so, Six of Crows. he likes heists!
Esteban Ocon: City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty - a superhero origin story of sorts for Mr. Spiderman
Bonus: Liam Lawson: Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir - lesbian from New Zealand. let me have this
*ro asked for it, take it up with them @oscarpiastriwdc

Unpopular Phase 4 & 5 Opinions
Quantumania is the worst Phase 4/5 movie. And it wasn’t even because “kang got beat by ants.” (I liked kang in this movie). It’s just that the Spy Kids aesthetic & bad acting & overall weird vibes just weren’t for me.
Love and Thunder is no worse than Ragnarok. I would argue that it’s better in a lot of ways, actually. I really liked it.
Taika Waititi ruined thor with bad humour all the way back in Ragnarok tbh, but y’all weren’t complaining about it then 😒.
BuckySarah is better than sambucky every day of the week.
The Marvels was a good ass movie & they’re one of my favorite teams in the mcu. I’ll never forgive cbm sites & online dudebros for killing the hype from the moment the film was announced.
I adore America Chavez & Kamala Kahn and I want to see them in everything. They must be protected at all costs.
Multiverse of Madness had shitty characterisation & basically just copy-pasted the ‘grief made me go off the deep end & hurt people, then I realised and stopped myself’ storyline from Wandavision… but Wanda was extremely selfish & apathetic to other people’s suffering from the time she was introduced in the mcu. MoM didn’t make her like that.
Wanda should’ve been looking for Vision (her actual real life boyfriend whom she spent years with irl) in MoM instead of the kids that weren’t even real that she spent like a week using as characters in her sitcom.
Making everyone forget Peter Parker wasn’t profound or poetic in any way- it was just frustrating and needlessly cruel.
I’m begging marvel to understand that heroes don’t have to be in constant suffering to be heroic & villains don’t have to sacrifice themselves to achieve redemption. Let characters heal and atone, you absolute weirdos.
What If…? is the most boring show ever. I’d rather watch Secret Invasion or She-Hulk.
Season 2 of Loki is, in a cinematic & artistic sense, the best marvel project period.
Loki season 1 was meh- more of a fun au than anything because his characterisation kinda sucked. Season 2 fixed it, though, and made it way easier for me to incorporate this version of Loki back into the larger mcu.
Having Steve stay in the past with Peggy was stupid af.
I don’t hate Peggy (or Captain Carter), though. I actually think she’s pretty cool.
I don’t really love Steve. He’s arrogant & they never really let him have flaws & something about him being a perfect metaphor for the American military industrial complex (and marvel painting that as a good thing) doesn’t sit right with me.
The Illuminati got done dirty and the only reason they went down so fast was because Wanda had all that plot armor.
I thought the retcon of having Wanda be “destined” to become the Scarlet Witch since birth was an annoying cop-out. Her powers originating from being experimented on with an infinity stone was way more interesting.
Loki & Wanda have almost the exact same powers.
Nebula deserved a bigger rule in killing Thanos & everything else moving forward.
I love Kathryn Newton but her acting as Cassie Lang was the worst acting I’ve ever seen in the mcu, like it was outrageously bad.
I’m glad Sam is the new Captain America and not Bucky.
The fact that Bucky probably isn’t gonna be one of Thee lead characters in the upcoming avengers movies feels sick and twisted.
Secret Invasion was actually passable until the G’iah scene at the end. That ruined it. And Nick Fury deserved way better for his solo series.
Kang is so much more interesting than Doctor Doom. I really hope they just recast him.
Carol Danvers does NOT deserve the hate she gets.
I actually disliked Carol until The Marvels. That movie made me a stan.
The way people treat Monica as Wanda’s little inferior pet creation or smth & then brag about it is uhh very sus.
I don’t like sylvie (bc she’s an amalgamation of 3 different comic characters- which killed any hopes of them appearing individually in the mcu, the creators used her existence to butcher Loki’s genderfluid rep, & she was written poorly) & I HATE sylki (bc it’s weird & unnecessary).
Marvel isn’t dead. I actually love where they’re taking things. But that’s just me.

So, Secret Invasion....it sucked.
*SPOILERS*
Not since She-Hulk have I been so disappointed and frustrated on an MCU show. This could've been epic, but it wasn't. And, the ending, the finale just felt so off. Like, they give this hopeful ending to Fury while so much killing is happening. I've pointed out a lot of what's wrong with the show. Killing off Maria in the first episode, killing off Talos, a terrible character for a villain, stupid decisions characters have made, and many questions and plotholes left unanswered.
The best parts were Sonya, Talos, Fury, Varra, but the writing in this show was bad. This should've been a longer series, or even a movie that had more characters involved. Secret Invasion shouldn't be limited to a small group of characters. And, I hate that the writers told the director to not bother with the source material cause that's not what they're intentions were of this show. Why can't we just do proper adaptations to comic storylines with changes that makes sense and improve on the story?!
Honestly, this was the worst in Phase 5 so far. All the actors and the characters they portrayed deserved better. But, if you wanna watch a show that has Skrulls in it, I recommend the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes animated show. I wonder if the people of Agents of Shield would do Secret Invasion better. Hell, I'm sure Agents of Shield had something similar and did it better. I haven't seen all of AoS so I don't know.
Anyway, that's my thoughts/rant on Secret Invasion. This deserved better. But, we still got Loki season 2, Echo, and the Marvels left this year. Hopefully, they'll be better than this, but I'll keep expectations low for now.

Hey Jordan, when it comes to Disney +, what have been your thoughts for each of the MCU shows and the movies that have been recently released?
i'll start by talking about my favorite show which is wandavision. i absolutely love that show and think it's the best one out there by a mile. the second runnerup is loki (I haven't seen the new season yet, so no spoilers!) the third one is definitely hawkeye!
i haven't seen FATWS only because when it came out, there was only loki and wandavision, and I heard that FATWS wasn't that good in the sense that there was no character development like there was in the other two. I'll have to watch it eventually because it's going into my marvel rewrite, but that's way later down the line
i absolutely love the what if...? series and wish there were more seasons and episodes. i think it's a very cool concept
i don't know why eternals gets so much hate because that movie is definitely in my top three in every MCU film that's ever been made. the CGI is done so well and I love the storyline
i haven't seen moonknight and i don't know if i will
if you want to read my thoughts about dr. strange 2, you can read them here!
i watched ms. marvel and didn't dislike it. it's a good show as a introduction to the character, but I didn't connect with it as much as I wanted to. though, I am excited to see the marvels this november!
i also loved thor love and thunder. i thought it was really funny and don't know why it got so much hate
i haven't seen she hulk and i don't know if I will, either. some say it's very funny and some say it's terrible. hulk was never my favorite character, and I hate what marvel has done to bruce banner's character by mixing the hulk and banner together
i liked wakanda forever but i think it was cheap because chad died. i think that they had a different story in mind knowing he was going to play t'challa again but when he died, they put together a half-assed script at the last second instead fo regrouping and coming up with a better story. (I also don't see the point in ri-ri's character in the movie other than she's an omen for the next iron man)
ant man 3 is another movie i absolutely loved and don't know why it deserved the hate it did. i love paul rudd and think he's a great ant man. i thought the movie was so funny and really well done. i think people had an issue with kang's character because ant man beat him, but I don't think they realize that it was one version of kang, not the strongest. plus, he was in the quantum realm, and he's less powerful down there. i don't know what Marvel is going to do with kang's actor since I hear he got arrested? accused of DV? I'm not sure what's going on there
the third GOTG movie is top tier. i absolutely LOVED that movie. GOTG is definitely my favorite trilogy next to ant man's trilogy and spiderman's trilogy
finally, i haven't seen secret invasion yet even though I want to. i guess I'm waiting for all the episodes to come out before I watch it. i stopped waiting for episodes every week as soon as I got streaming services. i'd rather wait to binge them all instead of wait once per week.
let me know your thoughts or if you want me to elaborate on something!

So, thoughts on Lego spoiling Red Hulk in the next Captain America movie?
I literally Googled this trying to find anything and all I found was an outline of the Facebook Marvel Avengers Alliance Red Hulk concept art for Red Hulk (I know that pose anywhere. ANYWHERE. )
So until I see Big Red I can't say for sure. But if Marvel kills him off I swear I'm going to be burning mad.
Red Hulk is probably my favorite Marvel character and he's been shit on so much it's ridiculous after headlining his own series for 40+ issues.
He deserves respect GDI.

What always annoyed me is how Ant-man was treated in Endgame, especially by Tony. What did he ever do to deserve that? The guy was nice to everyone and did his job perfectly in the heist but Tony (who was the one to forget the Hulk turning up which screwed it up) calls him "piss pants" for no reason at all!
They probably wanted to keep Scott and Stark as antagonists due to what Hank said in the first movie: "You should never trust a Stark", a line Scott repeated in CW.
It's just sad how he was treated in EG. Nat at least is somewhat nicer to him when he arrives at the compound but Steve? The way he talks to him is almost rude (gosh, I swear EG Steve doesn't act like the real deal at all in that movie), Stark is condescending to him even though if there's someone who should be treated that way is him, Nebula is mean for no reason (she doesn't behave that way with the others, she doesn't know Scott so... why him?).
I hate it mostly due to the fact that Scott is not just comedic relief, he can be a funny guy while at the same time keeping his intelligence and his wit and his abilities. His first movie did a fantastic job of showing that he's not just a lighthearted guy, he has a lot of talent and he's a smart guy and very capable. But in EG he's nothing more than a character who has to be there so that others can make fun of him.
It's a constant in a lot of movies and series, not just in Marvel. They have a fun guy and for some reason they correlate fun = dumb. As if a good sense of humour wasn't a marker for intelligence... 🙄

A list of things I know about mcu from mostly fandom.
As a person whose only watched 5 out of however many mcu movies, none of the series, and consumes far to much fan-content. (The most recent film was released 2016 for context).
Probably in the wrong order:
The 40s(-ish): - Steve Rogers was a sickly scrappy menace who always picked fights, he's best friends with Bucky Barnes - Bucky goes to war, Steve follows eventually - Steve volunteers for experiments so the army will actually accept him and becomes no-longer-sickly scrappy menace, with extra muscles - Steve might be in love with Peggy, or possible Bucky who knows - Bucky falls off a train, he is now the dead - Steve crashes a plane and becomes the capsicle
The early 2000s(Potentially) - Bruce Banner gets radio-fied and becomes the sweetcorn man, he is not pleased and nor is someone called Ross -Natasha Romanoff Little addition tm is stolen/sold to the red room becomes ballerina-esque deadly assassain - Clint Barton is a shield agent, when told to kill Romanoff, does not, they are now both agents - Tony Stark; alcoholic party man with far too much brain is kidnapped and tortured, designs fancy suit and escapes, becomes iron man, changes his company for the better. Lots of trauma and character development to follow - Loki finds out he's adopted, his subsequent villain arc is either very drama queen vibes, or well deserved. Currently unclear. - Thor.... I know nothin
2012(Mayhaps) - Events of the avengers film(I actually watched this one) Loki might of been mind controlled during this? - Thor returns to Asgard - Team moves in with Stark - Fanfic writers like this moment in time Post- The Avengers (Fuck if I know anymore) - Stark(and Banner maybe?) do a thing with Jarvis and something called ultron and it's bad. - Maximoff twins exist, they are bad and then good and then Pietro is dead and Wanda is (????) - Spider-man - Barnes is alive and he just shot Romanoff - The government does not like the Avengers (It might be Wandas fault? OR Tonys? OR steves????) - Hulk in spaceHulk inspaceHulkinspace Gladiators? - The accords are bad, Someone teach these adults to communicate better please - Airport fight, ant-man and falcon exist, Stark just blackmailed a child - Barnes murdered Tony's parent but he was mind-controlled - Stark needs better friends (so do most of these people) - Barnes is now in Wakanda? -Fanfic writers do not like this moment in time (But they do like all the angst and fix-it potential) -Spider-man destroys several things including a ferry because he is a disaster child doing his best, Stark do better - Spider-man is pjs has a horrible first date, benches a building and crashes a plane, this is traumatising, but good job Parker -Hela destroys asgard, or mayhaps twas her little brothers -A wild Thanos appears, he;
Murders Loki and most surviving Asguardians Almost kills Stark and crushes a building Sacrifices his daughter cause he's a dick Kills vision fights Strange Spider-man Stark and the guardians on another planet Snaps and kills half the universe
- Stark invents time-travel and they save the blipped after 5 years - Big final battle led by Captain America - Stark snaps and dies - Rogers time-travels (no one is happy with this) - Falcon is now an American bird (people do like this) - Spider-man is betrayed by a fishbowl and has a bad time - Spider-man has more of a bad time, this time with multiverse theory
I can't think of anything else rn.

I'm Back!
Wow, so Lent is over now, so my tumblr fast is also over and I'm still a little in shock, lol. I had hoped the past six weeks? I don't know, Time is weird, would be more productive but at least I got SOME stuff written/posted. Anyway, I have one more month of school and then fucking FINALS so expect sporadic updates at idiot-o-clock hours of the night, and maybe yell at me to sleep, eat, study, or drink water whenever i do post 😅
I am up to SO EFFING MANY wips rn on so many different fronts you guys have no freaking idea 😭 so here's a status report for EVERYTHING on or going on sardonic_sprite. (Its gonna be a monster post, y'all, bear with me)
in absolutely no particular order:
Wayne4Ham: We have a LONG way to go with this one, so just be patient and I'll slowly but steadily plug on through. Aaron Burr, Sir, should theoretically take me no longer than end of april
Wayne-Crazy: there's like 4 specific requests on it, plus a few 'series' i started, but after those, say 6-7, i'll probably mark as complete and only re-open if someone offers me an idea
Batman Beginners: i'll tell y'all up front, this one will take me forever. i don't even know what all I intend to cover, but know that i'm halfway done with the DITF arc, and it'll probably come out in the next two months
Just A Kid: this was my shits-and-giggles fic that got like 3000 notes in a weekend lmao. it's something i do intend to continue bc its so fun and i enjoy the concepts in it, but i don't have plans to actively write more of it in the immediate future.
Rev Wayne: just gave y'all Jason's fic, so the next probably won't come until late in summer, extrapolating from my few data points. if anyone has ideas for timmy's intro, let me know, i'd love some inspiration
Celeb Batwaynes: reported separate from wayne-crazy for reasons. i think theres like 12 specific requests plus 2 ideas of my own. i may put out a poll for the next one to write, but not until after school's out, because these fics are HUGE time-eaters for me. speaking of, are non-tumblr-users able to vote on polls?
Welcome to Gotham U: this was again, me doing shit bc why not. will probably add more in the style that i first posted, but i doubt i will write any prose for it. if you would like to give it a try, please reach out, i'd love to see what you write!
One Diamond: every time i touch this i make the cliffhanger worse lmao. i finally do have a direction, but execution is gonna have to wait a while.
The Young, Innocent, and Righteous: this is mostly just for me anyway, but i'm just gonna say that i'm waiting until i finish watching miraculous season 5 before i go any further
AS you wish: i have 5 more requests to do and i am so sorry to everyone waiting you do not deserve this lmao. i promise im trying, i love your ideas, it just takes me a really long time to fill in the rest and then actually write it. the next one on my list is particularly hard to pin down and so it's halting the ones behind it to. if not before, then after finals i will sit and bang my head on the keyboard until something good comes out
Light Isn't Fadin': soooooo many people have asked me about this one oof. SOMEDAY, i swear. right now its a huge, nebulous, hulking monster and im sorry it's just not happening yet.
A christmas carol: wait until december. please
Father's Day: june.
A Little Problem: over the summer, i will watch marvel movies until they once again hijack my brain and fuel this to completion. maybe.
easter eggs: how the fuck did i forget this lmao. i'm doing as much as i can in april, but when the month is done, i'm sorry, we'll all be waiting until next lenten season. hopefully it won't come to that.
aaaaand i THINK that's finally it. there's also a bunch of random paragraphs in word and google docs that may appear, not to mention ideas that kidnap me in dark alleys. but i also have like a good half dozen other wips for other places that im trying to attend to, so please be forgiving if it seems like its taking a while to post something as sprite.
as always, i love questions, comments, concerns, even some complaints, so feel free to interact.
See ya when I see ya!

No One’s Red Raven About Her Disappearance, I Bet
Hey there, opinionated smoke detectors. Well, we're back in the pit. We got the final six issues of Avengers Arena to get through, so we might as well get started, yes?
Here's the cover:
Tumblr media
Okay, this is my favourite cover of the whole series. I don't need to see the next five or remember the previous 12 (most of which were movie ripoffs anyway). This one wins. If you ain't read Runaways--well, first of all, go read at least the first volume (#1-18) of Runaways, it's my favourite comic of all time and you're missing out--but also, Molly Hayes is one of Nico and Chase's fellow Runaways. The youngest of the team and a genuine sweet kid. So of course she would make this poster. And secondly, the two implications here: A) someone in the outside world has finally noticed 16 superhero kids have gone missing, and 2) enough people care to take Molly's... hashtag, I guess?
So we open with Arcade with his stringy red hair and goofy white tuxedo, which is never a good way to start a comic. He's in a good mood, which is also never a good way to start. He's strutting around, preeening and plotting about what his next way to escalate his stupid teenage death game will be. Meanwhile, his robot secretary is repeatedly trying to get his attention for something important. He's as douchey a boss as he is a supervillain, though, so he keeps ignoring her until she yells, and he asks what's so important to interrupt his being-a-douche time.
That's when Giant Man, Thor, Wolverine, Captain Britain, and the Hulk bust through his ceiling~
Alas, the comic is not about to get cool and give him a comeuppance he richly deserves. No, it's all holograms Robot Secretary has conjured up. He concedes, and listens to her, though he's still snotty about it. "I gave you every possible detail, what could you possibly have to bother me with?" And what she needs is for him to authorise a particular "trump card". See, someone's finally noticed the kids are missing (Arcade, in his infinite douchiness, is like "Already? My family didn't notice I went missing for months.") and it's the worst possible person. It's not a parent or teacher or spurned lover. It's Molly Hayes~
And indeed, our dear Molly is confronting Giant Man (Hank Pym, in case you weren't sure) at Avengers Academy over the fact that he promised they'd be safe. But she hasn't seen Nico or Chase in weeks, and that means bad guys stole them. Kid's fucking sharp, you see why she's my favourite? Karolina Dean and Julie Power (AKA Lightspeed of the former Power Pack) apologise to Hank, figuring Nico and Chase just ran off to do horny teenage things. Molly's still throwing a fit, though, and she pounds the ground hard enough to break it.
Karolina and Julie pull her off, continuing to apologise. See, Old Lace, the velociraptor Chase has a psychic bond with (seriously, read Runaways), is moping about and won't even eat. They figure if he was in actual danger, she'd be all on alert, but she clearly just misses him. Even so, Hank promises to try and look into it for the kids, and Molly gives him a kiss on the cheek as thanks, because she's a sweetie. As they're leaving, he asks when Nico and Chase went missing, and that's when the other shoe drops: it was three weeks ago, right after Christmas.
As Hank is next seen explaining to Tigra, sure, two teens running off, that wouldn't be so unusual. But the fact that they disappeared the same day several of their own Academy students (Mettle, Hazmat, Reptil, possibly X-23 and Juston as well) went off the radar, well... that's a bit suspicious, isn't it? Now, Mettle and Hazmat were 1) a couple, and B) not supported as such by Hazmat's parents, so they didn't think too much of it at the time. And they're also graduates of the Academy, not like they just left their rooms. But still, Hank wants to ask around to some of their friends.
There's a few cameos here. On the Academy grounds alone, he talks with students Finesse and White Tiger. The former, she drifted apart from both X-23 and Reptil, since she has difficulty with emotional closeness, and doesn't know where they are. White Tiger, meanwhile, also knew Reptil, but when he got focused on finding his parents, she gave him his space. She'd want the same if she got any leads on her own parents' deaths, after all. Likewise, some calls, and Wolverine reports none of his kids are missing (if anything, he wishes a few would, give him a moment's peace). He heard something from Captain Britain, though...
Indeed, the Braddock Academy also has a few students gone walkabout, but since they're the usual delinquents, he didn't think much of it. It isn't even the first time this particular group has left school grounds, they usually turn up on social media after a few days. He helpfully forwards a pic of Anachronism cupping the breasts on the Venus de Milo as an example. Captain Britain asks Hank if his campus has any security footage, and they do, of course. But Hazmat knocked it out before she left, and they haven't gotten it back yet. In fact, the only person who could get it up faster... is Juston Seyfert.
They call up Juston's father, who is now kind of incensed with them. He withdrew Juston from the academy for safety concerns (since Juston's only power was "owns a giant robot"), and doesn't want anything to do with them now. They just want to check, since several of their own students went missing, and Mr. Seyfert replies that Juston is fine, he's out playing with his brother right now. And we cut to a POV shot of Juston's brother, Chris, and it's clear that the POV is from a Life-Model Decoy. That is to say, a robot duplicate that looks human.
So Hank takes it to the top: SHIELD. He talks with Maria Hill about teleportation tech, and she shows him a map where teleportation signatures go off across the planet, including a signature from around Chase and Nico's place. However, she won't give more detailed info, because it's highly classified. She does give him one piece of info, though: a girl with Deathlok tech disappeared right around the same time. But she's accounted that one as a time travel thing, so it's not important to their investigation. ...Right?
So Hank's a bit stuck. He's got at least a dozen kids missing, no leads. (As far as he knows, Juston's accounted for, and Cammi, Red Raven, and Darkhawk aren't brought up at all.) He can't put the pieces together, there's no real connection, especially when places like the Jean Grey School and the Wakanda Academy haven't been hit. He's fretting himself sick, and Tigra and his other colleagues are beginning to get worried. And that's when Finesse comes in with a phone call for him. It's Mettle, asking to meet.
They figure obviously this might be a trap. But then Mettle pulls up at their designated meeting spot (which he picked, of course), and explains he did, in fact, elope with Hazmat (who of course didn't feel safe enough to come along) and he's lying low because her parents filed kidnapping charges. Hank runs a scan, confirming that Mettle's DNA, retinas, and voice all match, so he's not a Skrull (and Hank would know, having spent several months replaced by one back in Secret Invasion). But Mettle's iridium body is just too dense to run a deeper scan out in the open. Well, isn't that convenient~?
Mettle says he's glad they're missed, at least, and peels off again. Hank accepts that maybe he and Molly just have difficulty accepting change. And the whole time, Arcade is watching from his creepy little basement lair, gloating at how thoroughly he's tricked them. The fake Mettle was the previously discussed trump card, since his already metal skin hides the cybernetics well. And all of this means he'll prove himself a great villain and get respect, everyone will line up to suck his dick, blah blah blah. The issue ends with him being smug, and isn't that just a great way to come back to this series~?
While I do dislike this issue because it’s just more of Arcade being a smug smuggy-smug who has all the powers and is Teh Very Best Evar, I also really like it for the parts that aren’t that. Hank Pym may not be perfect or, like, anyone’s favourite hero. But here he is, moving heaven and earth to find a lead to track down these missing kids. And that, I certainly appreciate. i get the feeling that, despite being smug and douchey, Arcade didn’t cover his tracks as well as he thinks and this is all gonna come crashing back on him later. I can at least hope that’s the case~
Also, seriously, one last time: go read Runaways. Even the weaker arcs in later volumes are still better than this dreck~

she hulk finale!!! 😍 it was awesome and I loved it and here are some comments I made while watching (kinda long post sns)
spoilers under the cut!
the opening was fantastic, so funny lol
oh shit and Bruce is still in space huh 😳
and she can't turn, just like Blonsky? I mean, from the perspective of the witnesses... understandable
aw I feel so bad for her, she doesn't deserve all that 😭
oh no she's moving 😭 like, I get it, but I love her apartment, it's so cute lol
"by any and all means" I fucking love Nikki 😂😂 where do I find a bestie like her lol
Dennis what the fuck 🤦🏻‍♀️ tbh I genuinely forgot this guy existed lmao "dated for a significant about of time" HA, you fucking wish 😂 you wish you could pull anyone even remotely as awesome as Jen lmao
we're gonna see Blonsky again??? yaaay!
"I'm not running from my problems, it's a mental health break" ain't that a mood lol
Nikki's a genius 👑
"deep haikus" by Emil Blonsky - I fucking need this book in my life 😂😂😂
I love Pug, I wish we could've seen more of him in this series lol
"I would have the exact same criticism if she was a man" OMG but this is exactly what males say on the internet 😂😂😂
fucking Todd 😂 for a second there i was afraid Pug's cover was blown lol
Pug is doing so good and I'm loving how uncomfy he is about all that 😂
TODD is HulkKing???! I mean, there were theories after he called her a specimen and all, but I honestly didn't expect that, because I was sure it had to be someone smarter 😂😂😂
I still don't trust the wrecking crew guy 👀
wait, is Blonsky with inteligencia?????! WHAT? obvi he wasn't suddenly good but like... why - also, how can he suddenly transform without alerting his parole officer now????
seeing Blonsky's voice come out of the Abomination is so silly oh my god 😂😂
fucking Todd 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
oh, and Titania's here! "does that bitch ever use a door" seriously 😂😂
oh, so Emil protected Jen - so he really does do it for profit huh - still doesn't make it okay hah
BRUCE IS HERE!!!! OH MY GOD?? I thought he was in space???
noo, Bruce, wrong guy to fight 😂😂😂
"what is even happening here" 😂😂 it's so chaotic and I'm loving every second 😂😂😂
oh my god for a second I panicked when it switched to the Disney plus menu 😂😂 this is so funny
so she broke the inhibitor and jumped into marvel assembled - aka the real world???! this episode is completely unhinged and insane and I love it 😂😂😂
is she going to complain about the storylines 🤣 this is so meta and that whole thing was unexpected but it's so good???
Kevin 😂 or, K.E.V.I.N. 😂😂 so funny
"you are very expensive" I cannot stop laughing 😂😂😂
THOSE ARE THE KINDS OF META JOKES I LOVE 😂😂😂
okay, I fucking love this episode 😂 😂
making fun of the usual overdone formula? I'm all here for it 😂
no, but seriously, I kinda love that she's like: the stakes were high enough for me personally, I don't need to have to save the world or anything, it was supposed to be a fun legal comedy with me coming to terms with my superpowers - because I genuinely loved the show and this brand new thing they're trying and I love that for once the stakes don't have to be threatening to everyone around
"save it for the movie" YES - as much as I loved seeing Bruce again, it is kinda like: a man has to come to the rescue because she wouldn't be able to do it without him 😅 he's getting his own project, we don't need to know now (even tho I'm curious haha)
"when are we getting the x-men" wait I need to finish the movies 😂😂😂
"I smash fourth walls and bad endings" AS YOU SHOULD 💪😂😂 I can't believe we finally got marvel saying "yeah, it's been repetitive, let's change it up" 😂😂
"and sometimes Matt Murdock" YAS, get it girl 😏😂
MATT IS BACK????!!!!! FUCK YEAH!! (but seriously, get him the red suit back, the yellow looks so bad 🤢)
he met the fam? 👀 so they're a thing? I'm so here for it, pls let them be together forever lol
And Bruce is back the right way lol
wait what, a son??? I am so confused 😂
Wong breaking Emil out again 😂😂😂
so
oh my god I loved it!!!! so good!!! honestly this might be my fave finale of marvel shows so far because it was SO unexpected and different and just completely chaotic and unhinged and I'm here for all of it 😂😂
the meta jokes and comments were absolutely hilarious and I laughed my ass off
I love how the ending was finally something different and more grounded I guess (as much as it can be in a hulk show lol) with no nonsense about Todd getting powers and all that
and I think everyone got what they deserved, with Todd being sued (it is a lawyer show lol) and Blonsky going back to prison - tho obvi he's not there anymore lol
despite being a superhero show, it dealt more with Jen and her life and coming to terms with herself, balancing her life as she hulk and Jen, and it was a legal comedy (could've used more legal stuff but those were 20 minute episodes so I get it lol) and I'm glad it all ended the way it ended rather than have the usual everyone shows up completely out of the blue for the last big fight that the hero's gonna win anyway
(and Matt!! god I hope they're dating lol I can't wait to see him again in born again!)
I fucking loved the show and this ending completely subverted expectations and made this show even better
so good, I hope we'll get s2 and I really hope to see her on the big screen one day (also, Bruce has a son wtf, when is his movie or whatever coming out lol)

She-Hulk review (even though nobody asked)
I wasn't expecting much. I never do expect much from marvel, even as a fan, and while I won't sit here and tell you how groundbreaking and mindblowing She-Hulk is, I will say that it was more than I expected.
The show is partly characterized by Jen (the main character's real first name)'s fourth wall breaks. She makes it clear to the audience that this is her show: one half legal comedy and one half reluctant superhero story - Jen coming to terms with being both herself and She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (tm).
I find fourth wall breaks to be somewhat overdone, but when it comes to the marvel cinematic universe and in particular this show, I think they lent themselves well to it, and I'll tell you why. This series is not afraid to have Jen look right at the camera and say "man, isn't it silly there's a cameo every episode? this is gonna be one of those shows, isn't it?" and while you could - and I initially did - easily classify this as typical marvel "well that just happened" humor, it came into play in a way that actually affected the story and overall message (a message! from marvel!) of the show in a way that wasn't just witty one-liners.
I mentioned before that Jen insists that this is her show, and "insists" is plural for a reason, because in particular in the final two episodes she battles with the ideas of the Marvel Writers, that's capital M and W. Spoilers ahead, but as I'm the only marvel fan on tumblr I don't think there's much danger here.
One of the ongoing plots of the show is that there's a secret password protected basically-kiwifarms subreddit called Intelligencia filled with misogynistic internet trolls who hate Jen because she's a woman with superpowers, and they don't think she deserves it. They don't say it's because she's a woman, but like yeah you get the idea. At the Female Lawyer Of The Year Award Gala, the leader of Intelligencia hacks the big screen and speakers and anonymously reveals that a guy she'd briefly dated earlier in the season and then ghosted her was working for them, and played a video of them having sex on the screen, calling her a slut and humiliating her in front of the gala audience, including Jen's father. Jen is in She-Hulk form and punches the big screen, destroying it and terrifying the audience. She's become the hulk monster that she's worked so hard to not be. Jen spots a man in a mask recording this and chases him outside of the venue, but is unable to catch him because she's being arrested by heavily armed men for hulking out and acting monstrous - a massive injustice.
Jen qualifies for parole by wearing a powers-inhibitor, so she can't wreak more havoc even if she wanted to. She talks to the fourth wall briefly about how she wishes the story hadn't gone this way, that it was unfair to spring this nonsense on her when this was just supposed to be about her balancing being Jen and being She-Hulk. Jen and her best friend Nikki set up a classic red-string conspiracy board in her mother's living room to track their progress on finding the leaders of Intelligencia's real identities. Nikki, who's infiltrated the Intelligencia subreddit, posts an embarrassing college video of Jen's and receives an invite to the misogynist convention. She calls in a favor with her male coworker to infiltrate it, and surprise! It's hosted at the meditation retreat ran by the ex-villain that Jen represented in court earlier in the series (Emil Blonsky i wanna say. The Abomination). Jen walks in and is all oh shit, the Hulk comes in and its like oh shit. The surprise villain injects Jen's blood and becomes a hulk and it's like oh shit. There's a fight and it's like oh shit.
And then everything stops. They superimpose a Disney+ menu to simulate that you've just backed out of the show because the plot has become just another marvel bullshit fest, and Jen declares that a menu isn't gonna stop her. She crawls out of the She-Hulk show cover and jumps into an avengers movie set, and finds the writers.
This is where it gets kinda cool and shit (can you tell I'm tired of writing?)
The writers inform her that they're slave to a boss they never see, called Kevin. Jen storms through the studio and meets Kevin, to find that its actually K.E.V.I.N, a robot that cranks out marvel plots with mass appeal, and forces into the plot events like an assembly of previously established characters to save the day, an injection of serum or something by the villain to get powers, etc. Jen demands that the show not be bullshit, and that K.E.V.I.N let her and Daredevil date (they fucked an episode or two ago by the way). K.E.V.I.N concedes, and she gets her ending.
That all is interesting, and I feel like the She-Hulk ending signifies a possible turning point at marvel studios. The writers are obviously self-aware that the plots are bullshit and that they don't wanna do it anymore, and they've proved in the past with series like Wandavision or Loki that they're able to make good shit with Marvel IP.
It's either a turning point, or a cry for help. Anyway, now I gotta watch the new thor movie.

Wake Up: some author’s notes
The idea for Wake Up was born from wondering what being on The Raft was really like for the Rogue Avengers. I dislike the Team Cap and Team Tony mentality. I think that all the Avengers were trying so hard to make the right decision about the Accords, but obviously all of them were impacted by their own traumas and life experience. The only person I think deserves everyone’s hate is Thaddeus Ross. That man did horrible things to Bruce Banner and was absolutely obsessed with catching the Hulk and re-creating the super-soldier serum. There’s no way he would be a kind jailer to anyone in The Raft who was enhanced.
I started this story ages ago, shortly after Avengers: Endgame. My favorite comic is House of M, and I took a lot of inspiration from that storyline. I lost steam on it (hi adhd), but was inspired to pick it back up after watching Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. Because holy shit, Wanda deserved better. I liked the movie, but it broke my heart. I hate that all the remaining Avengers seemingly forgot about Wanda after they defeated Thanos. I started imagining how Wanda’s storyline could have been different if she had just received the support she so desperately needed from her teammates. I was so mad that she wasn’t mentioned at all in the Hawkeye tv series or the Falcon and the Winter Soldier tv series. She sacrificed everything, but no one thought to check in on her? I loved WandaVision, but good grief I cried buckets. Especially as a mom of two boys, the ending destroyed me.
I am intrigued by Wanda and Bucky as a couple. I think their storylines are so similar but so different at the same time. Both of them are products of Hydra, but one by choice and one by force. It’s such an interesting dynamic! I love Vision, and I definitely don’t see him as a bad guy. He loves Wanda, but I think there is a lot of potential for misunderstandings due to him being an android. He is very humanlike, but he is not human, and Wanda is so tragically and painfully human. Hydra tried to make Bucky into something almost like an artificial intelligence, but failed because he is still human and that humanity was too powerful to be destroyed.
While I love the Marvel movies, I do sometimes wish they were able to delve more into the darkness that humanity holds. Obviously, they have ratings to think about, so that’s the power of fanfiction. Even superheroes have to deal with complicated emotions and trauma and hurt. I like exploring that, even though some of these chapters are pretty hard to write.

A Marvel fans take on the current state of the MCU
Look if you've seen my username you can probably guess I like Marvel. Either that or you think I'm REALLY into birds or something idk but yeah. Marvel fan. I used to steal my younger brother's spider-man comics when I was a kid and then when I was 12 I saw my first MCU movie: The Avengers
And I fucking loved it
That launched me into reading more than just stole spider-man comics. I (as you can probably guess) read a LOT of Hawkeye stuff. Still do, I love Clint Barton and I love Kate Bishop. I read both the Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War series, read Civil War years before the movie came out, read a bunch of one offs and wild stories that I could find at the library. I cared about these characters and that translated into me watching a lot of MCU stuff. From The Avengers through Endgame I saw literally every Marvel movie in theaters often either on release day or at midnight showings. I give you all this context to make you understand that when I say I'm tired of the MCU I'm not just dunking on it for the sake of dunking on it (which it honestly deserves) I'm saying this as someone who really cared about this for a long time and just can't muster the energy to anymore
I saw the phrase "Marvel Fatigue" on Twitter and yeah, that's where I'm at. There's just too much of it now and it's impossible to care about anymore. And more than that, the quality has been steadily degrading. Don't get me wrong, they've still released some bangers recently (No Way Home made me SOB and I loved Shang-Chi with my whole heart) but most of it is just tired and poorly CGI'd and a desperate attempt to reignite the magic and love they garnered with the Infinity Saga. Between the shows and the movies there's just too much and a lot of the time they're throwing in characters or plot lines just for the sake of it. I like the Ms. Marvel comics!! I haven't bothered with the show. I think She-Hulk is super cool! Again don't really care about the show. Wanda is a fascinating character but I couldn't get through wandavision and im still angry with how Loki ended. It feels like they keep making things to say "We're the MCU" without putting any thought or heart into it
I really love a lot of the stories told in Marvel comics. And I think there was a period of time where they were actually doing a pretty good job of translating those stories to films that felt fun and worth watching but at this point its just an oversaturated market full of things that die-hards want to mean more than they do. These films were never "cinema" (though I do think some high art stuff is just as shitty as current MCU entries) but they were fun and full of passion until they weren't. And it makes me sad that I can't even enjoy them anymore because I'm just too tired of them to have fun with it

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, I finally watched Doctor Strange 2 and as always I would like to give ya'll my opinion. Spoilers ahead
(Gifs not by me)
First of all, I love America (pun not intended). She is such a sweetheart and I love her relationship with Stephen. He's like a big brother that protects her😭❤️
Next thing is, Christine everyone. So, to all of you out there who didn't watch What if, you wish you did it now. Cause that whole story with Christine was already brought up there and the way they continued this storyline was amazing. I can tell that my heart broke when Steven said that he loves her in every universe
Next thing is Wanda. My Queen, my love, my everything. For one I am happy that we finally saw how powerful she truly is. Like damn, she destroyed Kamartaj on her own and killed every single on of the Illuminati. Sllllayyyy. On the other hand, my heart broke at all that cruel and gruesome shit she did just to be with her kids. I think that shows what a lost and heartbroken soul Wanda really is. She deserves better:(
I loved that scene where "Our" Strange and Sinister Strange fought against each other with these music notes. Probably my favorite scene
I'm a little sad that Shang-Chi wasn't in the movie, cause with the After credit scene of his movie, it would have been perfect but no:(
The Illuminati. I am in love with live-action Captain Carter. I was heartbroken when she was split in half. I loved that Captain Marvel, she was so cool:0 Black Bolt, da man. I never thought I'd hear from the Inhumans again, as nearly nobody even watched that show. And Xavier of course. In his cool stool from the animated series. He was as Cool as ever. And. Reed. Richards. The Man of the hour. The fans are getting better and better at predictions.
Wong deserves more appreciation
I don't really know what to think or believe now, cause with all of the upcoming stuff, there are endless possibilities now. There is "Agatha:House of Harkness" which will definitely be important, Antman 2 will definitely play a role too. We have Miss Marvel and She-Hulk coming soon. Lord knows what Season 2 of Loki will hold for us. And let's not forget Moon Knight. That show only had one reference to the rest of the MCU as far as I recall and that was Madripoor. But I think it will play a role too
The after credit scene. So, I believe the common theory that "our" Strange now has the third eye too cause he had to use the Darkhold to enter our dimension. That makes sense, right? Anyways, I'm excited to see more of the dark dimension
One last thing, after seeing the trailer I always thought that this movie would somehow destroy Dr. Strange for me. That I wouldn't like him after the movie, cause of the things Wanda said, you know with you become a hero, I become a villian bla bla bla. But now, I love him even more, poor boy only wants to protect his peeps, Wong and America are the living example. Don't get me wrong, I still love Wanda and she deserves the world but I still think that the things she did were wrong. Strange did wrong things too, that's clear, but he did not choose to kill anyone that stepped into his way. Wanda stans pls dont come at me, I am one of u. I love Wanda. Queen.
