i’ve been seeing posts/videos on youtube about the next possible star trek movie and having it take place decades before the timeline of tos and like

do they not understand how feral i (and many other fans i assume) would become if we finally got an adaptation of star trek that gave us more spirk?

spirk was the pairing that launched a thousand ships! not to mention the amazing fanfics its spawned. sure exploring the playground of the star trek verse is beautiful, but as tos and aos have shown us, there are an infinite amount of realities out there where james t kirk wound up with a spock. hell kirk himself said it in the scene from aos that never was

The Walt Disney Company To Acquire Final Stake On Hulu From Comcast As Will Merge Hulu and Disney+ In To One Add On App On Q3 2023.

Bob Iger, on the earnings call, said “it has not really been fully determined” what will happen with Hulu but he said that it’s clear that the content on Disney+ combined with “general entertainment content” is a very strong proposition. “So where we are headed is for one experience, with general entertainment content on Disney+,” he said, declining to predict how the negotiations for Hulu will turn out. To date, Disney has had “constructive” talks with Comcast about the future of Hulu, according to Iger.

Starting in January 2024, Disney can require Comcast to sell its stake in Hulu (and Comcast can force the sale).

On Disney’s earnings call Wednesday, CEO Bob Iger said the company will soon launch a “One-app experience” in the U.S. that incorporates Hulu content into Disney+. The new combined offering will launch by the end of 2023, available to customers who subscribe to both streaming services”, he said.“While we will continue to offer Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ as standalone options, this is a logical progression of our [direct-to-consumer] offerings that will provide greater opportunities for advertisers while giving bundle subscribers access to more robust and streamlined content, resulting in greater audience engagement and ultimately leading to a more unified streaming experience,” Iger said.

The one thing that gets me about Darby and the Dead, is that Darby should have the whole talking to ghost thing out in public on lock by now.

She should know how to do without seeming like a freak/weirdO. I feel like we only saw her talk on the phone while communicating with a ghost a few times but it should have been more and she should have had an ear peice.

She's been able to see them since she was a kid. That's plenty of time to learn how to do it in a more convenient secretive way.

📽️ Palm Springs (2020)

So this was really raunchy. Like really. It also got a bit repetitive, which is something that’s hard to avoid in a movie about people stuck in a time loop. It has decent ratings, but I honestly didn’t care for it much at all. The humor was juvenile for the most part. Seriously, if you cut out all the sex jokes, you probably could cut out thirty minutes of the movie. There was no substance. I definitely would not watch this again and pretty much regret watching it the first time.

Sex/nudity: 7/10 (off-screen sex, self-pleasuring, kissing/making out, bare butt, lots of sexual references/jokes/talk in general, several non-explicit sex scenes)

Language: 9/10 (IMDb says 45-60 f words, other language as well)

Violence: 5/10 (IMDb: A man gets shot twice with arrows, A man gets thrown out of bar with bloody nose, A woman steps out in front of a speeding 18-wheeler. The camera cuts away just as she is ran over, A man gets shot at point-blank range with a shotgun with bloody results, One man shoots another point blank in the chest with an arrow killing him, Someone gets his legs crushed between 2 cars you see him in lots of pain and then it cuts to him lying on the floor with blood all around his lips and mouth, Girl slips by the pool and smashes her teeth out)

Overall rating: 2/10

Okay but hulu's CRUSH is really good so I'm gonna talk about it

Synopsis: Paige is our mc, she wants to go to art school. Unfortunately for her someone's been tagging her school with colorful puntastic murals under the alias KingPun, and the administration thinks it's her.

When they try to suspend her she strikes up a deal to join the schools track team and find out the true identity of KingPun. Where she ends up training with her lifelong crush Gabby.

But as per usual things don't go to plan. Instead of Gabby she ends up being coached by Gabby's twin sister AJ. Now Paige has to get good at track, solve a mystery, deal with her crush, and get into art school. What could go wrong?

Comcast CEO Brian Roberts Says Comcast "More Likely Than Not" To Sell Hulu Stake To Disney

Earlier this year, Disney CEO Bob Iger said that everything was on the table, with regards to the future of Hulu, and potentially selling it. But following the news that Disney is planning on making Hulu an add-on to Disney+, to provide subscribers with a one-app experience, there has been lots of speculation about Disney buying out Comcast’s remaining 33% stake in Hulu.

This week, during a MoffettNathanson TMT conference, the CEO of Comcast, Brian Roberts has said that it’s “more likely than not” that it would be selling its stake in Hulu to Disney.

“I think it’s more likely than not that we go through with what we said all along. That … they’ll put, we’ll call at the beginning of next year. I think Disney recognized as anybody else would recognize that Hulu is really valuable”.

He added:

“The fact is that Bob Iger, on his earnings call last week, said that they’re now back interested in general entertainment, which is no surprise,”
