//The owl house// Set in Luz’s bedroom/living room after the events of kings tide (season 2, episode 21).

Luz walks in on Hunter. Hunter finds out he is transgender

“Thank you for the clothing Luz. Amity admired the Good Witch Azura merch Luz lended her. Gus, Willow, Hunter, and I wouldn’t know what we would do without you.” Amity thanks her girlfriend.

“No problem. No problem at all. It’s my job as your girlfriend to lend you anything you need.”

Luz smiled then a concerning look washed across her face as she searched around her friends.“Uh hey guys. Do you know where Hunter is?”

“Hunter is still in your room!” Gus blurted.

“I should go check on him to see if he’s been okay. Watching the collector demolish Belos and just everything probably did a number on him. I’ll be right back!”

Luz sprints to her bedroom to meet Hunter and exclaims,

“Heyyy Hunter how are yo-” Luz stares at Hunter sitting on her bed in a binder twiddling his thumbs then Luz squeals, “HUNTER YOU ARE TRANS!? IM TRANS TOO!”

Hunter snapped out of the zone and looked up at Luz in confusion and anger.

“Ohh. Hunter I’m so sorry, you did not want me to find out. I’ll go-“

“I’m not transgender.”

“But you are? Do you not know what trans people are. Okay so a trans person is when-”

“I know what trans people are Luz. Raine is trans, one of the Blight twins are trans. I’m not trans.”

“But you are wearing a binder. A binder is for trans masculine people to hide their chest. Did you not know that Hunter?”

“Is that what Belos gave me? A binder? I’m not trans. Trans people were born a different gender. But I’ve always been a boy. I’m a boy.”

“But you are trans. Its okay, it isn’t bad you are trans Hunter-”

“Leave…please.” Hunter begged.

“I’m sorry.” Luz apologized and softy shut the door and ran off to the rest of the group.

Hunter stood up from Luz’s bed and walked to her mirror. He looked at himself in disgust. It all came together. The binder Belos gave to him one day, the shots of testosterone, his “annoying voice.” How was he so oblivious. How did he not piece it together until Luz pointed it out.

“No no no no no no. I can’t be trans. I am a boy. I am a boy right? There’s no way I’m a girl.” Hunter thought.

His eyes filled with tears as he crossed his arms and dug his nails into them in self hatred.

“No stop it. Stop it Hunter. Boys don’t cry. Real boys don’t cry. But I’m not a real boy am I?”

He fell to his knees and let it all out because with Hunter’s logic if he’s not a real boy then he should stop fighting the tears. Since Belos had told him “boys don’t cry.” He closed his eyes and accepted defeat.

[A couple hours later]

Hunter opened his eyes and realized he had fallen asleep. Luz, Amity, Gus, and Willow hugged him a group hug.

“What’s going on!?” Hunter jumped up since he was startled. He started pacing around around the room and looked into the mirror. “And what’s this cat sweater!?”

Gus grabbed Hunter’s arm in an attempt to calm him down and stop him from making a ruckus.

“Hunter!”

Gus paused then said, “After an hour we got concerned. You were in Luz’s room for so long. Then we found you asleep and in tears. We found some bandaids for your arm and let you borrow one of Luz’s sweaters.”

“No no no no you weren’t supposed to find me like that. No no no no!” Hunter panicked.

“Hunter it’s okay. It’s all going to be okay.” Willow comforted him softly.

Hunter paused and looked into her eyes. He sighed and said, “If you say so.”

Hunter is still a real Witch, he’s always been a real Witch. Him being a Grimwalker doesn’t change the fact that he’s a Witch and he wants to study wild magic and attend Hexside.

Flapjack sacrificing themselves to bring Hunter back to life doesn’t suddenly make Hunter’s disability go away. Yes, it is a disability. All the Witches that can’t preform magic the “normal way” are disabled, it’s a disability.

Don’t erase this disability Hunter has, when he’s a strong character who disabled abused kids can relate to and see themselves in. (myself included)

I want to see Hunter learn magic, that’s been his character since the beginning since his official debut in Hunting Palismen he has wanted to carve out a future for himself.

The Bat Queen herself says: “They want to feel a connection. Kneel and state your deepest wish, and your like-minded partner will find you.”

Hunter and Luz come to a truce after their fight and they have this conversation:

Luz: Other than Lilith, I've never spoken to someone inside the Emperor's Coven. What made you want to join?

Hunter: You were right before. I'm a powerless witch. A lot of my ancestors were. I never thought I'd have a future in a world like this. But then, Belos found me and gave me a staff with artificial magic. He said the Titan had big plans for me.

Luz: At least you have your future figured out now.

Hunter: At least you can figure out your own.

Hunter having the independence and power to figure out his own future was his “deepest wish” as at that moment was when Flapjack chose him. It wasn’t predestined. Flapjack chose to make that connection with Hunter who always felt shackled by Belos even if he convinced himself it was his purpose.

In Thanks To Them, Hunter finally feels comfortable with himself, and ends up standing up to the man who abused him and boxed him in allowing him to believe he didn’t have a say in what his future was all while he dying. He knows what he wants out of his future and Belos isn’t apart of it.

“You know what it’d like Belos?”

“I’d like to study wild magic and learn how to carve Palismen!”

“I’d like to attend Hexside as a regular student and play flyer derby with my friends! And most of all I’d like to make sure you never hurt anyone again!”

So after Hunter realizes he knows what he wants out of his future Flapjack is killed shortly afterwards. Flapjack’s connection with Hunter isn’t killed.

They’re still connected over finding out what they want out of the future, Hunter can still feel Flapjack and possibly their soul? entering his Palistorm skin the moment they perished? Hunter is still a Grimwalker but it’s up to him to define what that means to him.

Hunter isn’t (as) afraid of Belos anymore because he knows what he’s fighting for and he still has Flapjack although not physically by his side.

I haven’t seen anyone talking about how Hunter revealed how he heard the conversation between Belos and Luz about “Philip” in regards to Hollow Mind and Clouds On The Horizon.

Not only does Hunter know he’s a grim-walker but he learned his “Uncle’s” real name in the same day. Did he know about Philip’s journal and look up Philip and that’s how he knew that’s he’s a Grimwalker of someone Belos made “disappear” ?

I need answers.

These two are Valor and Cell! (Valor is the o. ne to the top left and Cell is the one to the bottom right)

Valor is supposed to be that one guard from hollow mind. The idea of cell was given to me by my cousin @uncannyx23 , mostly because he loves that cyberpunk stuff or whatever it called lol.

Valor is an engineer and smartie pants who basically created Cell, who is used as Belos's personal weapon. They are a package deal, do not separate' them.

There's more to their story but I'll prob save the rambling for later anyon e's actually interested lol

I know it’s been discussed about Hexside and Darius taking in Hunter but with Dana running things you just know the writers are gonna subvert our expectations.

That’s why instead of settling down with one of these groups permanently I think Eda is gonna call in her favor with the Bat Queen!

Why the Bat Queen though?

Besides her appearing in Hunting Palisman I believe her to be more forgiving than someone like Eda or Darius.

And wouldn’t it make sense narratively for Hunter someone who is trying to make amends, end up with rooming with The Bat Queen who is the caretaker of The Palisman who inadvertently helped kickstart his “rebellious streak” in the first place?

Someone who takes in things that have been forgotten or used? Someone who looks after all Palisman to say to Hunter that it wasn’t a “mistake” that his Palisman chose him?

Not even completely going into the fact that both Palisman and Grimwalker come from the same type of wood so they could be considered kin.

I think in a narrative sense, it just makes sense for Hunter to at least have a one on one talk with The Bat Queen.

what if belos makes another grimwalker?

In the first panel on the first page, from left to right, Gus, Amity, Hunter, Willow, Luz, and Camila are standing, facing off against an unseen Belos. Hunter is in the very back, with Gus and Luz more to the front, and everyone else is somewhere in the middle.  Luz is holding glyphs out, the top of her face obscured by the panel. She says, “End of the line, Belos. There’s nothing else you can do.” Clouds float by in the background. In the second panel, everyone is posed the same way, except it’s zoomed in on Hunter this time. He has a shocked/confused expression on his face. He whispers, “is that..?” Meanwhile, an (again) unseen Belos says, “ Oh Luz, you really are a fool. In the first panel on the second page, a masked golden guard can be seen stepping out of the dark, hand on his mask. A partially obscured Belos in his monster form lurks in the background, head obscured. His hands are on both side of the golden guard, almost like he’s presenting him. Belos continues to speak, as the text on the left reads, “What a shame, really.” The right side reads, “... But, Oh well. I can always do it again.”

The second panel on the second page is a closeup shot of the new golden guard’s eyes, which are the magenta/pink colour hunter used to have. This grimwalker looks ahead, eyebrows furrowed. He has a birthmark on his left cheek and a light scar across his nose, similar to Phillip’s in Elsewhere and Elsewhen. The text below it reads, with Belos still speaking, “... Do tell me though, Hunter.” With a crossed out/ glitched “Caleb” before the word Hunter.

In the last panel on the second page, the new golden guard can be seen from the waist up, wearing Hunter’s old golden guard uniform. He holds Hunter’s old staff, looking ahead determinedly. Belos’ hand rests on his right shoulder, with a looming Belos over his left shoulder in the background. Belos’ head is obscured except for his mouth, which appears to be an almost smile. He says in the text below the panel, “How does it feel to be replaced?” End ID.]
