Thranduil and Josie Pt. 157- Lucky Clover

Summary: Raven, Jace and Matthew chapter of backstories and new revelations.

"No...no, get away....get away from my baby! leave me alone...no! Tauriel don't do it!! No...nooooooo!!!!"

"Raven! Wake up! Wake up, you're dreaming..." Jace firmly said as he tried to shake the distressed dhampir awake. The worried warlock had been faithfully sitting by her side as she slept, his contrasting eyes curiously studying her since they arrived at his remote refuge, trying to figure out why he was so drawn to the fiery haired and tempered dhampir.

Her eyes sprung open in panic and darted frantically all around the outlandish room that smelled of burning sage. A room that looked nothing like that of middle earth, but something of modern day living with hi-tech computerized gadgets all around, things she had only read about in futuristic novels. It also had a gothic witchy vibe, which that part she could at least relate too.

Then there was Jace, the gorgeous blue and brown eyed blonde, holding her hand as he sat beside her, which he hadn't even realized he was doing.

Raven jerked her hand away and jumped off of the simple single sized cot, adorning completely different attire than what she last remembered wearing.

"What the hell?? Where am I Jace??"

"If I tell you, I'll have to kill you." he grinned, but then instantly realized how stupid his jest was as Raven scoffed at him.

"Tell me where the fuck I am Jace...now!! Or I'll..."

"What? Set me on fire?? Burn down the only sanctuary you have? We saved you remember?? A simple thank you would be nice."

His tone was calm but cocky enough to get a retorting rise out of her.

"A thank you?? If not for me, you'd still be rotting in Jareth's dungeon. Where's my thanks for saving you?? Instead, you left me at the mercy of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. fucking Hyde!" she reeled, referring to Thranduil and his evil alter Elvenking persona, then marched over to the cathedral style window that held iron bars on the outside. "Oh, and that's just great. I lived my whole life behind these. So now I'm a prisoner again??"

"They're not to keep you in Raven. They're to help keep others out."

She glanced back at him with a softening look, then her electric blue eyes returned to the unfamiliar outside view from the top floor that displayed a dark outlying city street. The only light came from the waning gibbous moon which would soon be full for winter solstice and in the wide reaching distance was a lavish lit up world of humankind.

"Yeah well, they didn't work against Jareth when I was at LeBrat's."

"That's because you conjured him, basically leading him right to your doorstep with a welcome mat. Play with black magic, get black magic play back. Try to correctly say that fifty times in a row."

Jace's humor was sincerely playful but it was not helping, for Raven found none of it funny.

"I didn't know it would be him alright?? I didn't even know he existed. I wanted someone more like y...never mind. Can you not speak about Jar... him? As if I am not cursed enough."

Jace grinned in confidence, knowing she was going to say she wanted someone more like him.

"I never would have pegged you for the superstitious type."

"I'm not...well at least I never used to be. You know he'll find me Jace and if he don't, the dealers will.....even Thranduil."

"Hence why you are here. The elves will never come here and Jareth and Ravenna have never found me here yet. They can't find what they can't see. As far as vampires, this area is not their scene. Even they have preferences."

"Key word, yet. It won't stop the goblin king from searching all corners of the globe...and it goes to show just how much you know about vampires. We are too close. I can see the people which means if there's any dealers there, they'll sense me. People are kinda their thing, you know...food? They're always roaming the big cities, looking like any other human. Some even reside in them. Garrett told me all about it. Now, where are we??" Raven asked as her keen eyes continued to zoom in on the buffet of humans walking about in the nightlife, making her quite hungry herself.

"I know plenty about them actually. As you said, they tend to target the highly populated areas, which is why we are not in one. It's also how I have managed to stay off the radar. If you remain hidden, out of sight, like we are, they are less likely to sense you. To answer your question, we're in Manhattan, well, the suburbs of it."

"Out of sight, but not out of mind and we're in New York??? The United freaking States?? You FLEW me here, all this way?? That's like thousands of miles."

"Nine thousand to be exact and no...only part of the way. I didn't want your scent in the air for anyone to pick up our path, not to mention your dead weight of being passed out didn't exactly make for a light load, so I used a portal."

"A...portal?? Like Jareth can do?"

"Could do...but not without his ring that I saw you pick up inside the mountain when Gollum dropped it."

"Yeah, that...well, I don't even have it anymore. That bitch Tauriel took it from me and stupidly gave it to her looney tunes elf lord which has only amplified his assholiness. That's not all she took from me either." Raven reeled, still in shock over her loss that she didn't know quite how to speak about.

"Wait." she continued. "So, if you can teleport, then why didn't you just take me away before????"

"Because I didn't have my stele. As Jareth needs his ring to possess certain unique abilities, I need something as well. He had taken it upon my capture so I had to go back and retrieve it and my seraph blade too, after you had left."

"A...stele??"

"I'll show you some other time, what it is and how it works. It does so much more than just teleporting. This place? To the outside world, looks like an old abandoned church, even on the inside. When I said they can't find what they can't see, well...I meant it in the literal sense."

"Uhh, how?? It looks far from abandoned to me."

"Magic." Jace said as he now stood beside her and winked. "This is only one room. There's much more here...and there's others here like me too. We are well protected."

"So...anyone that walks in here...won't see what I see? Will they see us??"

"Well...Mudanes, or ordinary humans per se, won't and they can't just walk in. Iron bars and locks remember? Vampires etcetera, are a bit more tricky, which is obviously why you have to remain inside...Oh...and did I mention that my good friend is a vampire? Shocking eh?" Jace quipped as he folded his brawny arms over his broad chest.

Raven's head whipped to him. "No...you didn't. But...I..I remember now. There was one with you when you came for me...I...I saw him, smelled him. He reeked of some girly perfume and was wearing a pink necklace."

Jace chuckled. "Yeah, that's Matthew, but don't let the scent fool you. He's far from girly and quite dangerous when provoked, for he carries the blood rage gene. To put it simply, don't piss him off. Otherwise, he's one of the good ones. He actually resides in the civilian world of France but has personal business in the elven realm, which that's a whole 'nother story that isn't mine to tell. What I can say though, is that pink gem is no ordinary necklace. It's a runestone and is needed for what's to come. That part IS my business. It's all of ours. Anyways, you'll officially meet Matthew soon enough. He's out fetching some food for us...real food like burgers and fries, since I know you can survive on that."

Raven's throat burned with thirst for blood as he said that and her stomach also growled in hunger for a big fat medium rare double cheeseburger. Garrett used to bring her treats like that from the cities, back when he used to like her and protect her.

As she placed her hand on her grumbling stomach, she turned away from him and began to softly sob, for she couldn't hold it in any longer.

"He...they...took my baby away Jace....all to punish me for what I did to Thranduil. I am the reason he lost his family and has turned into what he is and now I have paid dearly for it...but..my baby...he or she didn't deserve that. I...I wanted to be a mom...I...I wanted to raise it to be good, unlike I was. My child...could have been the one thing to straighten me out...and someone that could have actually loved me."

Raven then broke down bawling as she lowered her head and leaned on the window sill.

"Hey...come here." Jace softly whispered and took her into his arms, cradling her head against his shoulder.

"I...I am so sorry Raven. I learned of the child after it was too late. Matthew sensed it in your blood loss. I wanted to come sooner but I knew it was too risky to attempt it alone. God, I'm so sorry for all the excuses. I...I never wanted to leave you back in the goblin realm, but I was outnumbered with Thranduil's army. He was never going to allow me to come with you and certainly not take you from him, which believe me, I wanted to so much. And...I do...I thank you so much for saving me. If only I could have saved you. Can you ever forgive me?"

Raven lifted her head and tear filled eyes to his as she sniffled and whimpered. "Why would you ever want to save someone like me?"

Jace's hand came to her cheek, his thumb gently wiping her tears. "Because I know there's good in you. I can see it. The fact that you wanted this child and to do right by him or her, proves that to me, but..I have even seen it in you long before that and I even told you so. You just want to be loved, which I know you have been deprived of and mistreated as well. I also know you have done some pretty terrible things, but you never deserved what my father had done to you or what Thranduil did to your child. Others feel differently, but there is nothing that can be done about that now, except that you can try to move forward and be a better person, which I know you can be...in fact, I think you want to be. Am I right?"

"Even if I do...I will still be hunted. Where am I going to move forward to? I have nowhere to go. I'm...alone..."

Raven lowered her head, only to have Jace's fingertips raise it by her chin and peer straight down into her sullen eyes.

"You are not alone. You have me. I'm here now and I will not leave you again unless you tell me to. I understand if you cannot forgive me or if you want to leave."

Raven was dumbfounded that he genuinely seemed to care for and respect her and she didn't exactly know how to react, for it's nothing she had ever experienced. The cynical side of her wanted to come out and tell him that he was full of shit, for she was scared to trust him again but...she couldn't do it, as his eyes and touch spoke the truth that he was real.

"Yes...I...I forgive you...and...I also thank you for what you have done for me. You...you're nothing like your father. If it weren't for your eyes, it would be quite hard to believe you're his son."

Now Jace's head lowered. "It...it must be hard for you to look at me. I am sure he is all you see in my similar eyes."

Raven's fingers now went to his chin, lifting his head up to see his ashamed eyes trying to avoid hers.

"Look at me Jace...please. I didn't mean it that way. I do not see him when I look in your eyes, for your eyes, they are beautiful and hold kindness and love within them. His are dark and full of hatred and evil. The eyes, they say, are the windows to the soul. Well, he does not have one...but you do. I see it. I see...you. I...I smell you too." she said as her brows furrowed, trying to figure out the scent. "You smell of...clover??"

He softly chuckled. "Yes. Ironic huh? That is your real name. Clover."

"Yeah...it definitely is strange. But..as you know, I do not go by that name anymore...although, I...I do like the way you say it."

Jace smiled, somewhat bashfully. "Well...Clover...I...I see you too."

A moment of mutual gazing was shared as Jace stroked her cheek and then in his bewitched state...he leaned forward. Raven softly gasped as his lips almost took hers...and then Matthew walked in, causing the two to quickly move away from each other.

He walked over and put the food on the table, then the tall, dark and handsome vamp, appearing to be in his late 30's upon rebirth and all dressed in black, approached Raven with observing sapphires and both a tantalizing and intimidating smile.

"Hello Raven. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Raven stood fidgeting with her fingers, feeling a bit anxious after Jace told her that Matthew possessed the blood rage gene. She knew what that was, for her father, Craven, possessed it. It was either a genetic illness that was carried over from their human life or it could also be passed on to them when they are reborn from a vampire carrier's bite. It also surprisingly allowed an infected vampire to create children with female humans, witches or even other vampires. The most susceptible to it were witches known as weavers, a rare breed of witch with the strongest abilities and capable of creating spells that don't exist, something you unknowingly inherited from Caroline and would pass down to Leean. But, the main reason Raven was concerned was because it carried the term blood rage for a very good reason. When ignited, due to strong emotions such as anger, fear, anxiety and extreme hunger, it became uncontrollable, although when provided with a support, hope and love, it could be manageable. Had she inherited the gene from Craven? Was that why she was a blood thirsty child and always so angry, having multiple fiery meltdowns throughout her existence? Either way, on egg shells she would now walk around the vampire that Jace told her not to piss off.

"I am very sorry for your loss. I hope someday, you will find forgiveness in your heart as you also seek it yourself. As you know, the she-elf that was ordered to carry out the devilish act, was placed in a very compromising position. It was not her wish to cause you or your child harm and she, herself, has been scarred by the loss. King Thranduil, far worse than she, for his mind has been altered by, as you know, none other than a demon warlock that needs to be stopped. Not even the Elvenking himself, in his right mind and especially without that citrine, would have carried out such evil. An evil, you...brought him to. That evil, he will now face as it has become full circle."

Raven's eyes intensely grew and began to sting with her own rage.

"Whoa...you're...defending them?????"

Jace nudged her with his elbow, his own wide eyes reminding her to watch her step.

"Defend? No...stating facts, yes. I do not find them blameless. Tauriel still had a choice. Even Thranduil did, for he still knows of right and wrong. Of course, he chose wrong... again, hence what has happened to him."

"He hates me! He hated me even before Jareth's mind fucking. He still would have done it."

"And why is it that he hates you Raven? Other than the fact you took him away from his family and set this all into motion? A... choice...you also had and chose wrong. Did you not deceive his Queen, your own sister, all out of jealousy regarding the vampire King Garrett Lee and because of your secret desires for the elf lord you also harbored?"

"What the hell? How...do you know all of this and....what is your infatuation with the elves anyways??"

"Come...sit and eat. I will tell you. I hope you like cheeseburgers, medium rare?"

Raven's mouth now gaped to match her eyes. She sat down, opposite the daunting vampire who then placed two burgers and fries in front of her and a bucket of Kentucky fried chicken at Jace's seat, which was right beside her. Of course, for Matthew, all he relished in was a bottle of red wine that he then poured for the warlock and herself.

All she could do was lightly gulp in confusion as her stunned blue eyes stared up at overly courteous vampire.

"Matty, my favorite, KFC. You rock brother...you...you got the biscuits too...right? With butter and honey?"

Matthew grinned and reached into the bag, then slid another box over to him at lightning speed, in which Jace gracefully caught, sporting a curled smirk of satisfaction.

Jace tore into his chicken in the typical hungry man way as Raven sat watching him in astonishment while Matthew sat silently, sipping his vintage while eyeing her.

Jace could feel her eyes upon him and suddenly ceased his meat ravaging to lock his eyes upon her.

"You want a piece?" the greasy chinned warlock asked with a mouth full of food, making her lightly giggle.

"I...I've never had that." she softly answered.

"What??? Sacrilege girl. Here."

Jace reached in the bucket and pulled out a chicken leg, then plopped it down on her plate. Her stomach turned as she then watched Jace suck his piece down to the bone, for it reminded her of Gollum's legs.

Raven offered a queasy smile, then unwrapped her burger instead. Moments later, she found herself indulging it just as Jace had, not realizing just how famished she really was. Hearing both the warlock and vampire chuckle at her, had her setting the sandwich down to shyly wipe her lips with a napkin, then awkwardly began nibbling on her fries.

"To answer your questions Raven, I have many gifts, sight being one of them, past, present and future, either while dreaming or during my waking hours. I know more about you than you do. The elves...well, they have been part of my future visions." Matthew explained and then continued after pouring himself another glass of wine.

"Do you believe in destiny?"

"You mean...like...love..and all?"

"Yes, that can be part of it. But just your overall future. I've seen many things. My own destination as well. It involves your sister and your niece...it even involves you."

"M...me? How am I involved in their lives? Josie hates me and will soon want to kill me even."

"That may be so, her feelings anyways."

Matthew took a hefty gulp and then sat straight up, leaning into the table.

"But...it will all change. You will be a part of her life again. I have seen it. She will need you."

He then sat back and relaxed again, returning to his wine. "With that said, the future can always change due to our actions. It all depends on you now, if you want redemption and to be a part of a family."

"Wait...you're telling me that I...will be accepted by her after what I have done to her husband? What exactly did you see??"

"I cannot tell you that, for then, you could change it's course by throwing a monkey wrench into it. It would be in your best interest if that did not happen. You see, there are some things that should not be told for various reasons. For example, I knew Thranduil was alive after a vision I received from a shooting star one night that revealed my own destiny."

"So you knew he was alive and...did not tell Josie??"

"Would you have? Knowing what her King had become, forced to despise her. What a terrible pain that would inflict upon her after all she has suffered, only to lose him all over again while he walks and breathes. Now, of course, she will soon learn the truth and with that said, another of those various reasons I mentioned would be that there are other things that need to take place until she is made aware."

"That...makes no sense. If she had known earlier, many things could have been changed??"

"It is not meant to make sense. You must trust the process., for it is all occurring for a reason. A war is coming, a storm like no other and the Thranduil before us all now is well suited for it, more than ever. The one thing we all have in common is Jareth's destruction and all the evil he will bring forth this winter's solstice that is merely two weeks away. The fact that Thranduil has the citrine in his possession, did you think that was an accident? If he had been rescued before he was, Jareth would still have it. It is one of the key items in ending him, along with the gem I wear. There are other runes that will be needed as well. Your sister...she will collect them. She also will find the biggest necessity, Ashmole, for even I cannot see it's placement, for I have spent 150 year searching for it. Only a witch can. If she had left Dowrinion to find her King, it would have thrown everything off course. With all this said...Jace, you will need to go to her, alone, for you will be needed to aid her in locating one of the last two runes."

"Yeah well, if only Thranduil had killed Jareth when he had the chance, none of this would be happening....and if you know the whereabouts of these runes, why have you not just gone and got them yourself?" Raven asked, as politely as she could in her frustration of brain overload.

Matthew sat back up to the table with a serious expression. "If Jareth could be killed, we wouldn't need the book, now would we? And I do not know the location of the gems, I have only seen them in Josephine's possession. I may have the gift of sight, but I do not know all. I am not God."

"Ok...so you're telling me that if Thranduil would have beheaded Jareth's ass, he wouldn't have died?? and....you...believe in God???"

Matthew plopped back in his chair and guzzled his glass of wine to the last drop, then heavily sighed.

"That is exactly what I am telling you. The goblin king's revival brought about by his brother Julian using the spell in that book, protects him and his body. How do you think he rose from the fiery pits of hell just recently? No sword will pierce him, no fire will burn him, no magic will destroy him unless it is from that book and those stones!!! It can temporarily weaken him, but that is it. He will just keep coming back like a stray cat if you feed it and he'll get stronger each time just as the cat will grow fatter. Thranduil knew this which is why he did not even try."

The vexed vampire poured another glass, trying to calm his emotions before he went on, while Raven sat frozen in fear as she witnessed his hand trembling while he drank.

"Now...God, you ask...I do believe in him. I was a devout catholic before I met my fate fifteen hundred years ago. I was 37 and aided the local church in a small France village, helping to restore it, for I was a carpenter. I had a wife and a son back then, both taken by a plague that wiped out most of the village, yet I never contracted it. I wanted to end my life when that happened and I tried, even believing I would go to hell for it. I jumped from the scaffolding and laid alone on the ground, broken, bloodied and still breathing. That is when I met my maker, and it wasn't God. It was my mother vampire who offered me the alternative to facing damnation and God himself by atoning for my sin through service, ridding the world of evil, much like Garrett does. She and her husband became my new family as Matthew Roydon died and Matthew De Clermont was born. Tell me, Clover...do you believe in God?"

"Somehow I think you already know my answer since you know everything about me and I've never even met you."

"Eh well, we'll be seeing plenty more of each other for you to know me better. It's time for me to go get my own dinner. Don't wait up kids...or do anything I wouldn't do. Raven...I hope you are feeling better."

Matthew winked at Jace, knocked back his remaining liquid and then headed out.

"Are you...feeling better?" Jace then asked her.

"Strangely...yes? Shouldn't I be cramping and still bleeding? At least, that's what I've read about miscarriages, although that's not exactly what happened to me."

"Matthew took care of that for you once we arrived here." he explained and continued eating his last piece of chicken.

"So...he's a healer too??"

"Yep...hey ummm, you gonna eat...that?" Jace asked as he puppy eyed her second cheeseburger.

"Uhhh...no...help yourself."

"Annnd...what about the chicken leg?"

Raven chuckled. "Take it. You don't wanna know what I think about that. Trust me or you won't be able to unsee it."

"Noted. Don't tell me." he laughed and swiped it up.

"Sooo...when are you going to go to Dorwinion? He told you to go alone...so does that mean I am going to be left here with a blood rage vampire?"

"He's not going to hurt you. He has more control than you think and you'll definitely be in good hands with him, just try and watch that spicy mouth of yours. It's really not that hard. I'll probably go in a few days after I know all is well here and..."

Jace finished the chicken and just stared at the burger as if something was bothering him.

"And??"

"And well...I have to face my sister knowing her husband is alive. Like, do I tell her? I mean...how, do I even tell her, considering what Thranduil is now? I've only met her once and...like, I love her already. I have no family but her. I guess there's still Jules, but he still isn't himself either thanks to Jareth and Harker. Speaking of Harker, he has one of the stones, the crystal. I wonder how Josie is going to get it like Matthew said?"

"I...I don't know...I..."

Raven sighed and picked at her remaining cold fries.

"Hey...what's wrong?"

"I...well...you know how Matthew said somethings shouldn't be told? I guess I am debating on one of those things....because it will hurt someone....and like you, I...I don't know how to tell them."

"Ok...well, tell me about it. Maybe I can help?"

Jace couldn't help, for he would be the one needing help. Raven knew the truth about her sister's true father and it wasn't Jareth like all were led to believe by Caroline and she knew that information would crush Jace.

"Jace....I...."

Raven grunted and threw her hands over her face, then ripped them down, releasing a hard sigh.

"Ok...Raven?? Now you're starting to worry me. What is going on? You have to tell me."

"Arrrgh!" she snapped and got up to pace. "Ok...ok...the person is you Jace."

Now he stood up and walked over to her, gently taking her arm to turn her around.

"What do you mean? There's something you know about me that will hurt me?"

"I...I should have never opened my spicy mouth!"

"Raven....tell me now. Spit it out." he flatly said.

Jace towered over her with pursed lips, peering down firmly with his brown eye darkening and his blue eye brightening, only causing her to clam up even more.

"Raven! You do NOT want my eyes to turn yellow." he shouted.

"Ok! Ok! Josie...she's not your sister....Julian is really her father after all."

"W...what??"

"My mother...she lied to Jareth all to hurt Julian for sleeping with her twin and not knowing the difference."

"How the hell do you know this???"

"Look...it came up in some conversation on our journey back to Rivendell. I sat and listened. There's this buy...Boromir...who claims his brother...some Faramir guy is Josie's twin. I guess my mother hid it from Julian and gave the boy away to these people. It's some long fucked up story."

"Hearsay...you want me to believe something you overheard with no facts??"

"Jace...It's...it's true. I...I'm sorry. That Faramir guy, he has powers now that he never had and the Boromir dude, he...he saw the truth in Galadriel's fountain, the one that shows the future...he saw Faramir, Josie and Julian together, and the guy called Julian father...if my mother had twins and Julian is his father....then he is...my sister's too...which only makes her....your cousin. But, that's still family Jace....she's still your...family. It changes nothing."

"It changes everything Raven." he flatly spoke once again and went to stare out the window. "Who's to say this guy isn't lying??? I mean, who the fuck is he anyways??"

"I don't know who he is really, just that he's a good friend of Aragorn's and...why would he lie? He traveled clear from Gondor to find my sister and tell her. He was there at Jareth's, helping to free Thranduil, only you never saw him."

"Gee, I don't know Raven. Maybe your sick and twisted mother put him up to it before she died for whatever fucked up reason. It...it can't be true...it just can't be...I...I learned about Josie when I was a teen. Jareth...he let it slip in a bout of anger one night when he and I were arguing, but I knew nothing more about her or how to find her...I..I didn't even know her name then. I was so angry that I was never told and I was so fed up with him and my mother as it was for all the evil shit they did, that I left, and never looked back. I didn't want to be like them. I wanted to be a part of a normal family, with love...and love was forbidden in my world. I had witnessed what they did to my aunt Freya, forcing her to turn dark and it all was just the last straw... So I went searching for Josie and have been ever since...all these years Raven, and I finally found her and she was everything I knew and felt she would be...good and sweet and...she loved me back. I...I can't lose that Raven....I...I just can't...."

Raven gently took his arm and made him turn to look at her. His face was full of pure anger and pain, his eyes glistening of tears, eyes that he refused to hold up to her sympathetic gaze....and her heart desperately broke for him. For once in her life, she felt love. Real love.

"Now it is my turn to comfort you. Come here."

As soon as Raven's arms pulled him in, Jace broke down crying into her neck as he held her so tight.

'I...I don't want to be alone anymore Clover..." he muttered into her cinnamon scented hair.

"You don't have to be anymore. I...I'm here. Your lucky Clover." she softly assured him as she made him look at her and then...she did something that even surprised her. The dhampir kissed the warlock.

negotiation | visual prison, hyde/dimitri/ange

"Why exactly are you here?" Hyde asks.

Perpetually frozen on the threshold of adulthood, Ange doesn't look so very different than when he first arrived in Harajuku and upended the lives of every vampire he came across - present company most certainly included. But that little lost dhampir would never have met Hyde's eyes and answered his question with such confidence as Ange does now.

"I want to be hurt more than Guil enjoys hurting me."

On the sofa to Hyde's right, Dimitri leans in, elbows on his knees, his interest piqued. "A splendid answer. But tell us - just how does Guil enjoy hurting you?"

Ange nods again, without so much as a flicker of hesitation. He leans in towards them, subconsciously mirroring Dimitri's posture. "I do. I'm not... I don't know exactly where my limits are? But I'm not going to find out with Guil. And I'm curious."

Now that is a splendid answer, and one that arouses Hyde's curiosity as well. It's been a very long time since Hyde's played with someone as young and inexperienced as Ange, but then, it's been just as long since he's had someone with this much promise to play with...

Dimitri's laughter brings him back out of his thoughts. "I think you've caught Hyde's attention, little pup."

Hyde considers Ange for a moment - compares the performer he's come to know well with the boy sitting here now, eager and earnest, and by all indications more than up for a challenge. In this new, more intimate context, Dimitri's little pet name makes him flush, fingers curling around the edge of his seat as he tries not to squirm. Yes, he certainly has caught Hyde's attention. The question is, does he know what to do with it?

"Unless Guil has changed a great deal since we parted ways, I assume you take a more dominant role with him?" Ange's cheeks flush hotter, but he nods. "Does submission appeal to you at all?"

"Yeah. It does." He swallows hard - looks away for just a moment, collecting his thoughts. "I do like being in charge of Guil. But seeing how calm he gets, how... safe he feels, when he submits to me - I can definitely see the appeal. I think I'd like that a lot."

When Hyde glances to Dimitri, he finds Dimitri looking back, no doubt thinking the same thing; why don't we find out? Ange might not know just what he likes, yet, but he clearly knows what he's asking for, what he's getting himself into. Though really, that should come as no surprise; Guil never would have handed him over had he not been sure Ange could meet Dimitri and, especially, Hyde's high expectations.

"Would you like to play with us tonight?" Dimitri asks.

"Yes," Ange says.

"I intend to hurt you tonight," Hyde says. "More than Guil has hurt you. But while I may very well encounter your limits, I would take no pleasure in surpassing them. If anything either of us does to you is too much - if you want to stop for any reason at all, even momentarily - you need only say so. Do you understand?"

"I understand."

"What an obedient little puppy," Dimitri coos, and the way Ange shivers, suddenly unable to meet either of their eyes, suggests they'll have a very pleasant evening indeed.

Not really about the same thing, but something I've thought about a *lot* because yuumori already mixes British media of the time is Milverton's reactions to other villains in other media franchises of the era. Like Doian Gray, Frankenstein, Dracula, Jekyll/Hyde...

Do you have any thoughts about any of them?

I don't think any really are blackmail resistant. Dorian may be unafraid of getting caught as long as he keeps the painting a secret, but he is awfully paranoid and obsessed with his own downfall. I feel like Milverton wouldn't need real evidence to push his buttons, actually.

Dracula perhaps? He feels a little bit overconfident and less like he is even trying to keep his secret? Do you have any thoughts?

Hi, nice to see you again! I am a big fan of classic literature, so your ask made me really intrigued, especially that I never thought about these before.

First, Dorian Gray. I can't decide when it comes to him. First, he has his beauty and one of the main thoughts in the book was that people generally thinks that a beautiful being can only be good. Dorian might think that even if he gets exposed, the public wouldn't believe he comitted those awful things - he was also able to convince his late fiancé's brother that it can't be him who chased the girl to her death, since he is so young and that event happened 18 years ago.

On the other hand, what you say about his paranoia is true, too. Milverton might be able to scare him just by knowing too much about him.

Victor Frankenstein. I think he surely could get blackmailed, even if not through his reputation - Milverton blackmailed people with threatening their families, if he chose to blackmail Victor, he would use this method, who has people he holds dear after all. (If you meant blackmailing the Creature, on the other hand, I don't think so. The Creature is an outcast of society, who has nothing to loose already.)

Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde. Complicated matter. I think Dr Jekyll can get blackmailed, but Mr Hyde doesn't. So if Milverton blackmails Dr Jekyll, Mr Hyde would come after him to destroy him.

Dracula. I don't think he would ever imagine someone would be so insane to blackmail him - but I can see Milverton doing it (of course, fully armed with weapons what can be used against vampires) just for the funzies and to later expose Dracula and turn humans fully against him.

If Dracula gets blackmailed, he would surely kill Milverton, even if he doesn't care about his reputation - and he might not even cares, people are already gossiping about him. But the fact that someone dared to blackmail him would make him really angry.

(Your ask also gave me a crazy AU idea - because vampires usually have red eyes, while dhampirs - human-vampire hybrids - in some series shown with yellow eyes. YuuMori setting in a world, where the high class consists mostly vampires and some influental humans and evil vampire nobles using the lower-class humans as livestocks. There, Liam and Louis are vampire orphans who are planning to overthrow the division of the races with humans on their side, fighting against the evil vampire nobles. And Milverton is a dhampir, who, because as a half-blood he was despised and rejected by both groups, tries to turn vampires and humans against each other even more through his blackmails, because he want them to destroy each other in the end.

Let‘s-a fucking gooooo!

I’ve already done a post explaining the basics but I’m going to go over it quickly, again: it’s the late 1800s and war is brewing in the horizon. A mysterious individual known only as Agent M sends his men around the world to recruit what he calls “extraordinary people”, human beings with particular abilities that he believes are the key to saving the world from the villains who, in the shadows, are planning to put an early World War into motion.

What this team doesn’t know is that M, aka Moriarty, has reunited them to take something from them- and to unlock the secrets of their abilities. Why, they’d make excellent weapons! Nemo’s technology could be used to create the ultimate war-machines! Mina’s dhampir powers are the key to harnessing hypnotism and regeneration! Jekyll’s serum could turn a regular man into a monster capable of anything!

I’ve stolen that plot from the movie because the movie fucks immensely.

The main changes with the comics/movie lore are:

-Mina and Jonathan are still very much an item (and they’re both dhampirs), albeit Jonathan is mostly offscreen and unseen.

-Allan is replaced by Irene Adler (I never really liked Allan much, plus I don’t know what his personality is beyond Sad Old Man). Irene is the Socialite of the team and she keeps them funded, connected, and insured (don’t you forget she’s outwitted Sherlock Holmes more than once!).

-Griffin is… just Griffin. His personality doesn’t change much from the book, so he’s grumpier and way, WAY less gross than comics!Griffin. The main issue the team has with him is that he’s a chronic complainer and that every now and then he makes comments about taking over the world that don’t sound quite jokey… Ah, and he’s legally blind. He also can become visible again and spends most of the time like that, since being invisible makes him anxious and paranoid. More than usual I mean.

-Nemo is basically the same as the book (I have read an abridged version- still have to read the full book, give me some time), but Nemo gets tentacle beard and NO pronouns! And a very sweet robot arm.

-Mr. Hyde is basically the same as movie LXG Hyde because I love that characterization. I won’t lie, my AU version of Hyde is based off that Hyde in pretty much everything save for a few traits. They also get the potty mouth he has in the comics (…with less slurs, I’m not THAT mean) and a book accurate design (since here the time skip is relatively short). I need you to imagine a very short guy, like four feet eight, tank his way through Moriarty’s secret lair.

-Tom is replaced by Alice (from In Wonderland), but dw, he will show up in later issues… once I get to outline them.

The main changes are in the setting really, every change in the plot stems from there. Basically Candyverse, my public domain universe AU crossover thingy… is a fantasy world version of earth that is slowly turning into a soft science fiction world version of earth. Surprise! And yes, the Martians are going to show up. Don’t be impatient! (…again, I also have to outline the sequels… Gulps.)

Monster High Live action movie

I thought this year’s Oscars were boring so I decided to watch the live-action Monster High musical movie from this past October. I’m writing this while watching so you’re going to be reading my thoughts as I watch in a stream of consciousness. I can tell the movie was created with the G3 dolls in mind as it uses the idea of Clawdeen being “half-human” which doesn’t make sense with werewolves. You either are a werewolf or you’re not... They should have made Draculaura the half-human. Dhampirs (half-human / half-vampire off-spring) are a thing in folklore. They should have just had it like the Harry Potter stories where there’s bigotry against half-bloods and mud-bloods.

Honestly, it’s kind of nostalgic. It reminds me of some of the stuff they made for teens in the 90s. I feel a little weird being forty-one and watching “Monster HIgh” but my childhood love of monsters wished this existed when I was a kid.

I actually think the music in this is better than Disney’s Descendants (which isn’t saying much because I find the music in those annoying). Dracula is funny. As he’s dropping off Draculaura “Remember, I was top of my class. And my father, his father, and his father were all top of their class here.” Draculaura: “I get it, Dad. There’s no pressure.” Dracula: “Yes, there is pressure. They’re all still undead and they call me!” The CG is pretty terrible. And I keep having to try to force myself to forget the movie is to sell a line of monster dolls. I think I got a little spoilt by Wednesday (Addams) because they made a better Monster High than Monster High. I do think I like the music though. Okay, I do NOT like the idea of Dracula thinking of the use of magick as an abomination and “human practice.” Whoever wrote that into the story clearly never read the Dracula novel. In Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula had attended Scholomance, which literally means “School of Magick.” A monster school being anti-witchcraft is incredibly stupid to me. I also love that Frankie is now nonbinary. Having one of the monsters go by they / them is a good update. And because they are the child of the Frankenstein monster you can easily side-step the fanatical, conservative, backlash by reminding the potential complainers that this character IS made of the parts of several dead people. An alternate reason to be they / them. The school is a boarding school like it was in G2, which had its own movie, but it was a CG animated movie called “Welcome to Monster High.” I guess each new generation / wave / line of the dolls gets its own tie-in movie. But this one has the Headless Mistress from the original line of the dolls, instead of Dracula running the school. Again, I feel spoilt by the Wednesday (Addams) series. It actually did this better.

I guess this version of Draculaura isn’t a vegan (like she was in the first line of the dolls). As they show her getting jellied newts from the vending machine. I do like the idea that the school, itself, is alive. I like that Frankie is the sweet nerd in this. But I sort of miss Ghoulia fitting that role. And it’s weird hearing Ghoulia talk instead of just groaning like a zombie.

Also I just realized I’ve been spelling Clawdeen’s name wrong. It’s Clawdeen, not Clawdine. I’m correcting it now but I won’t retroactively correct old posts about the doll line. I do love the Crypt Keeper-esque horror puns clearly “borrowed” from Tales from the Crypt and House of Mystery. This is clearly written by people of my age or older because there are so many not-so-subtle jokes about how many kids “only communicate through their phones.” The 2010 version of the dolls (and web series) didn’t behave like that.

There’s a lot of painfully bad green screen.

Hey the Mr. Hyde song steals the beat from “We Will Rock you.” Shame on you, Monster High live action movie for thinking I wouldn’t notice you sampled from Queen (before the song changes).

Based on the Hyde scene, I guess Jackson Jekyll isn’t in this version of Monster High. Oh, wait... That teacher with the horns... is HE Jekyll in disguise? Yeah, I’m dumb... That’s obviously him... Ghoulia groans and moans when she’s woken up in the cemetery but it’s not the same as when she only spoke “Zombie language.” Where did they get the whole “vampires at war with witches” thing? Vampire Diaries? Discovery of Witches? It works in that lore but not with Dracula. Pretty much every version of Dracula knows at least a little magick.

I like Draculaura practicing magick but having it as forbidden and hated by Dracula is stupid to me.

Okay... Dracula and Draculaura communicate via enchanted portraits... Umm... that’s witchcraft. But Dracula is anti-witchcraft. Cognitive Dissonance. Too bad this thing isn’t deep enough to notice. Yet again, I am sorry to say I think Wednesday (Addams) does Monster High better than Monster High.

Okay, I just finished watching and... it was cute. I had a little trouble getting past the whole “vampires hate magick” thing but at least they made Dracula a character and most of the hamfisted bigotry allegories were resolved by the end. The music was actually decent and some of it catchy. I like “Coming out of the Dark.” it reminds me of the original Monster High Theme song,

Actually I was a little surprised they didn’t do a cover of the 2010 Monster High: Fright Song (the original theme song for Monster High).

I found the original song on youtube just now but I actually had to put “Monster High 2010 song” in the search because it was buried under all the songs from the live action movie. It was cute and a little shallow but still sweet for a movie based on a doll line and again, I’m glad they let Dracula actually be a character in it and not just off-handedly mentioned like he was in the first generation of the doll line and web series. And they didn’t make him so much like Hotel Transylvania’s Dracula like they did in the second generation of the dolls and CG animated movies. This version of Dracula felt like he stepped out of the comedy What we do in the Shadows, which I love.

I still think Wednesday Addams is handling this premise better though.

Id imagine that diluc would be a vampire-- i am a simp for vampire diluc and also i just think itd be fUNNY-- its like that one tumblr post where its like, the guy turns into a vampire but doesnt realize theyre a vampire because theyre already living like one AHAHA-- is usually always seen outside at night? Pale as fucc? Really specific in their drink choices? Ridiculously strong? Adelinde being sus with the cannibal bit? Its pERFECT-- NOONE EVER SUSPECTS BECAUSE HES JUST LIKE THAT NOW--

Yelan id imagine could have a Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde situation. Since its not a split personality, more of shapeshifting in a bottle. Id turn her into a legit shapeshifter but i think its cooler if shes just That Smart to create potions that can let her turn into anyone. It ties into her lore as well, since shes always in different personas and disguises and things. Also i dont want to turn her into a whopperflower, the three of them would be RELENTLESS with the plant jokes. Would turn her into some kind of chinese mythological being as well but dAMMIT THE IDEA CAME WHILE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF MAKING NOODLES AND I CANT DO RESEARCH WHILE WATCHING THE POT--

Ayato would DEFINITELY be some kind of yokai. Im thinking some sort of fox yokai since a lot of them have a lot of connections to festivals and the like. Or maybe something much older, much more ancient than the two of them combined. Explains his encyclopedic knowledge of Inazuma since he was LITERALLY THERE when it happened. Also oooooo potential connections with Yae???

Vampire Diluc is honestly just correct. Though I personal prefer a dhampir Diluc. I maybe it's because he gives me Alucard vibes. So ya know he's half vampire in my book. But In this context i can just imagine his years away just opened up his hungry more and he's very very ashamed of it. But Adelinde would 100% become a ghoul for him and take care all of his needs for him.

So I have a lot of thoughts regarding Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Primarily because in the book, Hyde still was Jekyll. Just the part of himself Jekyll could never afford to express. And then he really just became addicted. I once heard Mr. Hyde described as Jekyll's reward. And I think that's a good way of putting it. BUT at the same time. With my love of the persona games and yu gi oh. You can see how I still like the other side of the coin with Hyde splitting off into his own person. AH, but enough of my English major stuff. From what I know of Chinese mythology, I believe there is a fox spirit that shapeshifts, and I feel that's pretty fitting for her. Foxes being known for being so cunning.

As for Ayato, I know there are quite a few spirits associated with water and rain in Japan, and I can see him being some kind of sea monster of Merman.

The Unhallowed Finale also known as the dice hate Ezra! Under a cut because as usual this goes long.

In our last session we found out the ritual to break the veil was taking place in Hyde Park. The circle had tightened once again taking out Lambda. We found him and he was the one that told us where to find the remaining members (Lord Walshingham, Peter Fairfellow and Phoebe the Medium and of course Mandolin) After being minorly threatened by Ezra to give a statement.

We made our way to Hyde Park noting most of the animates had disappeared out of the area. Until we got to the gates to find approximately 400 animates creating a perimeter around the main park and a blue glowing light coming from within. We consumed a drug called Corpse Flower that makes you look like an animate and thankfully managed to make our way through without causing a fight.

At the gates we found a partially burned body that was literally starting to disintegrate. It was Mandolin his soul tied to a human body and this was it. Phoebe had betrayed him, used him for all his knowledge broke their binding and forced him into this body with very little energy left. She had used all his energy and he would never be able to manifest again. He whined about all he had wanted to do was find God. Phoebe had used his knowledge and was trying to summon some other being that would be a living death.

Ezra didn't react the best. Though Mandolin was prone he held him down forcibly by the neck as the Dhampir used an ability to take a bit of Mandolins essence to gain knowledge. She found out we would have to kill Phoebe before she completed the ritual but there would be some kind of blow back.

Mandolin crumbled to dust in Ezra's hands. This gained Ezra a new corruption, overriding his previous one (because I failed his will roll) Mainly due to the fact that Mandolin was going to perish but he still showed disdain and hurt him whilst he was already dying. We moved on through the gate to find the dessicated corpses of Walshingham and Fairfellow. Phoebe had turned into a screaming ball of spirits, telling us that the tear was open and tried to stop us. This is where my dice that already hated Ezra really decided they hated him.

The fight ensued, Walshingham and Fairfellow were brought up as ghosts. Our undertaker and parapsych got the most amount of damage in. Including with a shiny new flamethrower. Ezra failed his shots and couldnt get close to Phoebe due to the aforementioned fire - so started taking on the ghosts to keep them busy with the Dhampir.

Phoebe used a power called Rack of Agony which I botched the will save on so Ezra took a serious wound. Luckily passed a vitality roll to keep going the next round though. Eventually enough damage was done that Phoebe started to break a part but unfortunately so did the sky. It began a spider web of cracks, reality fracturing. Whatever she was summoning was coming through.

A split moment allowed the First Lord of Death, Abel to stop time and explain what was happening. Phoebe's death was not enough to stop the ritual, the veil was weakened enough that all the outer beings would push through sundering this world. There was a choice in how to deal with it. Someone would have to take Phoebe to the Land of The Dead but it would be a one way trip but Phoebe's energy would stop any further breaks. It would be death for one of us. Or we could fight off the other beings whilst Abel did it but he would not be able to repair the veil completely with his ritual where he would cease to be.

We started arguing the best way and Ezra asked if his ability to destroy a soul would be enough since Phoebe's energy would cease. Again Abel outlined that there may be a cost. Ezra argued he would take the chance because he needed London to survive for Olivers kids and he couldn't bear anyone else dying.

We agreed that this was the best course so Ezra thrust his hand into the soul orb that was Phoebe until he found something like a heart and crushed it, feeling something painfully creep up his arm.

Gm asked for a will save which rolled an 11. The gm rolled a contested will save and rolled an 11. We rolled against each other again. This time Ezra came up top. Meaning he succeeded and didn't get possessed by Phoebe and didn’t suffer any side effects of destroying Phoebe’s spirit..

The backlash happened, sending the other three flying back, only one taking a serious wound. Ezra however was still attached to Phoebe and I failed Ezra's vitality roll. The GM had to roll for damage and rolled a 20. Which is an incapacitating wound as Ezra was thrown into the air his ribs crushed by the explosion and was unconscious. If he had rolled a 21 Ezra would have died.

Abel finished his ritual, the cracks disappearing as the others saw to Ezra and the Dhampir who had also taken a serious wound. We eventually left the park to see all the animates had died once again. We were picked up up by a secret service of the government and cleared of the murder charge. Though the cleanup would be long and arduous, their were no long standing affects for London or the world. Then we moved into our epilogue.

For Ezra, once he was he was released from hospital, he went to the Sinclairs house and was welcomed by Clara and Olivers daughters, hugging in reunion. Once he went back to work he was greeted warmly by the other constabulary and detectives. Which is light and day from how it had been since Oliver’s passing. They patted him on the back and congratulated him, asking how he was recovering.

When he reached his desk, he found it already cleared, his cases all packed away and a singular note telling him to report to Scotland Yard. That the events of the past month had shown how ill prepared London was to a spiritual incursion. He would report to an MP as a part of a special task force with 5 others who had been spirit touched like himself. As their Captain he would be expected to train them and lead them well.

It was quite a shock as Ezra moves into the next part of his life. Feeling more accepting of what has happened, irreparably changed still but he knows what he is. Now he can use the gifts he have gained to make London just a little bit safer. He feels confident that this is the right path and he will never forget his promise to Oliver to make his life worth living.

Ramblings about Lucifer referencing Bones, “Close your eyes.” and shows influencing each other

That was never just a Bones reference being made and the season finale admitted it.

David Boreanaz played the ironically-named Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: the Series. His character has *so many* parallels with Lucifer (far more than Booth outside of the law enforcement/crime procedural connection).

Angel's spinoff also has noir crime drama aspects mixed with the supernatural starring an immortal protagonist with a dark past and infamously villainous reputation fighting evil as a supernatural private detective in the City of Angels (a city known for its dark underbelly juxtaposed with fame and glamor, broken dreams and chasing eternal youth) and navigating human law (including the LAPD and evil lawyers) while not legally existing.

Angel also fell in love with a blonde human heroine (Buffy Summers) after lifetimes of self-destructive, not-so-heroic behaviors (getting his soul back did *not* make Angel a hero and human Liam was a lecherous drunk with unfulfilled ambitions and father issues) who inspired him to become a better man and make human connections.

AtS made heavy use of sprawling nighttime Downtown L.A. cityscape shots, which Lucifer also shared an abundance of.

During both of their first cases, they failed to save the troubled blonde girl they were trying to help (Tina and Delilah, respectively). They also have a connection inside the LAPD through a blonde cop who also takes their identity secrets pretty badly (Kate Lockley in Angel's case).

Note that Buffy not only screamed (twice, given it repeated during her memory loss in Halloween), but also came after Angel with a crossbow when she thought he'd attacked her mother (it was Darla), so Chloe taking the Devil face reveal (Monster Reveals are iconic old horror imagery) poorly to the point of considering poisoning is par for the course. However, it only took Buffy seven episodes instead of three seasons to get the identity reveal via seeing the horrific second face (arguably also an accident on Angel's part).

They are metaphorically or literally Hell's angels. They also had long stays in Hell or a hell dimension.

Lucifer and Angel are also both Prodigal Sons with long-held grudges against their long-absent fathers (patricide in Liam/Angel(us)'s case) and they're later faced with a situation where they have unexpected, thought-impossible offspring who show up as adults (neither got to raise their miracle child) wanting revenge. Yup, major Connor/Rory parallel there.

Angel is also in a constant struggle with the Powers that Be manipulating his fate and free will (like Lucifer, he's a champion of free will no matter the cost) and making him prophecy's bitch.

Bones famously got jokes about how Booth is Angel getting his Shanshu (made human), since the character is given constant Angel-isms like references to a dark past having killed people (Booth is also named after a historical murderer, in addition to having been a sniper), both being Catholics full of Catholic guilt (note that the Buffyverse is most accurately polytheistic, though Angel does face off against a take on the antichrist--Angel has constant biblical imagery/themes and not just because of vampire iconography), kicking down doors (just not off their entire frames--LOL), turning on a dime and threatening people up against walls, constant wink-wink references to the Buffyverse (familiar casting, references to the Hyperion Hotel, etc...), etc...

The Lucifer finale used the words "Close your eyes." right before Lucifer is sent to Hell. This is literally the BtVS season 2 finale where Buffy kisses Angel and sends him to hell for a century with a stab to the gut (see the season 5 finale, not to mention Lucifer giving up his life for Chloe's à la I Will Remember You).

Note that D.B. Woodside was on BtVS (playing Robin Wood, whose Slayer mother Nikki Wood was killed by Spike). Aimee Garcia was in both episodes of AtS (Birthday--she's older than she looks!) and Bones. See her also playing a cross-wearing religious girl on Supernatural who was slaughtered in a police precinct by Lilith. Kevin Alejandro was also in an episode of Bones.

Tricia Helfer was in an episode of Supernatural playing a ghost who reenacts the night of her death every year. BtVS also had an episode along those lines, but with Buffy and Angelus possessed (not to mention Phantom Dennis!). Lucifer having Dan as a ghost is yet another thing they all have in common (ditto referencing Ghost, Patrick Swayze and/or Unchained Melody--Vincent Schiavelli a.k.a. Ghost's subway ghost was Jenny's uncle Enyos, whom Angelus killed).

Lucifer name-checked Castiel and Supernatural referenced Lucifer using their Lucifer (crime-fighting angel in L.A. made it a double-reference whammy). Supernatural returned the favor again by having Castiel forced to sing in Enochian. Lucifer's reference to his singing voice was already a zing about Misha Collins having to put on that monotone gravel voice and Enochian being far from melodious.

Russell T Davies was quite heavily inspired by the Buffyverse when he revived Doctor Who and spun off Torchwood, so there are absolute tons of Buffy, Angel and Spike respectively in Rose Tyler, the 9th/10th Doctors, Captain Jack Harkness and Captain John Hart (right down to the actor). School Reunion is the episode where the Buffyverse inspiration is most on the nose, complete with Anthony Stewart Head saying "shooty dog thing" in a school setting and a Mayor/Angel-esque speech about the curse of immortality. The Time War gave the Doctor a huge genocide-level guilt complex. Note that the creator of DC comics' version of Lucifer, Neil Gaiman, has also written for Doctor Who and is also the co-creator of Good Omens (the show is brimming with Doctor Who Easter eggs thanks to David Tennant). A barely-recognizable Tom Ellis played Martha Jones' ex-fiancé Tom Milligan during the Year that Never Was, as well.

A lot of shows take inspiration from the Buffyverse and you've probably seen some of them. It isn't just the copycat vampire romance stories either.

Angel's forerunners in turn were a mix of guilt-stricken, rat-eating Louis de Pointe du Lac (his Jekyll/Hyde-esque alter-ego Angelus is closer to the pre-retcon, fully-evil Lestat de Lioncourt, who got woobified into an antihero rocker not unlike Spike--the entire Fanged Four mirror Anne Rice's character lineup), sword-wielding, immortality trope-influencers Connor/Duncan MacLeod of Highlander fighting for the Prize of humanity (akin to Pinocchio becoming a "real boy"--see also Barnabas Collins of Dark Shadows, though he was before vampires became antihero superheroes, not just sympathetic antivillains) and Nick Knight of Forever Knight (vampire detective).

Additionally, Tom Welling was famously the longest-serving Clark Kent of them all (Smallville) on the old WB (there's that DC comics connection, too), so it's not just a Fox shows thing (though Fox, not just Warner Brothers, did indeed own the Buffyverse). One of the least-known things about Clark is that he also has an immortality problem where he wouldn't age parallel to Lois (they wouldn't be able to have kids either) without a workaround. The Kryptonite line directed at Cain/Pierce by Lucifer was quite on the nose! Lucifer and Smallville sort of crossed over even further in Crisis on Infinite Earths, so Tom is canonically the face of both Clark and Cain in parallel universes of the DC multiverse.

Supernatural had quite recently had their own takes on Cain (played by Timothy Omundson, who also played God Johnson) and the Mark of Cain when Lucifer did it. Dan's killer Le Mec was, of course, Rob Benedict, who was God a.k.a. Chuck Shurley, the ultimate villain of Supernatural. Richard Speight, Jr., who was archangel Gabriel/Loki the Trickster, directed a lot of Lucifer's later episodes in addition to being a prolific Supernatural director.

Supernatural and Lucifer use the exact same font for their titles (Supernatural Knight).

The X-Files (which Supernatural referenced constantly) and Supernatural also had stories about nephilim (see the apocryphal Book of Enoch). Lucifer ultimately had two nephilim (forbidden interspecies offspring of angels and humans), even if not saying so as a known concept. Connor can also be compared to the vampire equivalent of being something like a dhampir, though he's not quite that (mostly-but-not-quite-human offspring of two vampires instead of a human/vampire hybrid--see Blade for an actual dhampir). Supernatural has also covered the even rarer cambion species (human/demon hybrid).
