Back story: You're walking with Hermione in the hallway, talking about the party that Slughorn's having

P.S - English isn't my first language but I tried to make it make sense as much as possible

Hermione & DS are walking in the halls, taking about Slughorn’s party

DS: “I can hook you up a date for the party with one of my friends ‘mione”

H: “I think I’m good, thanks…”

DS: “Oh come on, why not?”

Hermione stops walking to look at her

H: “Your friends hate me”

DS:”What? That's not true”

Hermione gave her a look

DS: “Oh come on, you know I'm not going to suggest you’d go with Draco…besides,we’re not really close, he doesn't like me very much… I was gonna suggest for you to go with Enzo”

H: Enzo, as in ‘Lorenzo Berkshire’? I’ll pass…”

DS: “What? Why?”

DS got in front of Hermione to stop her

DS: Enzo’s sweet, he’s like the definition of a golden retriever. He doesn't care about blood-statues’ nor what house you're in…”

Hermione didn't look convinced

DS: “He’s not stupid either, in the first year he almost got put into Ravenclaw…”

Hermione sighed in defeat

H: “Alright, fine. But how would you know he’d want to go?”

DS: “ Well, Enzo adores Slughorn, and knowing Enzo he won't miss an opportunity to go on a date with you…he thinks you're pretty…”

She said the last bit in a whisper, as if someone’s going to hear if she doesn’t, or care

A small smile appeared on Hermione’s face, but she almost immediately whipped it away

H: “Alright, but I need a final answer by tomorrow morning”

DS: “Copy that, you'll have it by dinner”

With that, she ran off to the dungeons leaving Hermione in the hallways by herself, shaking her head with a smile before walking back to her common room

Can we normalize not saying “I know this is a long shot” or “I know I probably won’t find anyone” when posting canon calls from now on? Like come on y’all where’s your confidence? I see something like that on almost every canon call I see and I bet people would be more likely to reach out if we didn’t lead with negativity or uncertainty every time we wanted to find someone. Believe in yourselves. I propose instead we say things like “I know you people are out there somewhere and so help me I’m going to find all of you if it kills me” instead

Advice from a fellow writer.

Please, please forget almost everything you were taught in elemtery school about paragraphs and sentance writing. PLEASE. Make your paragraphs as long as you want! Put as many commas in your sentances as you think are necessary! It's okay to not like what you write the first time, you can always look it over and rewrite it as you see fit! It's okay to have writer's block, everyone goes through it! If you can't think of anything to write, try fanfiction of things that inspire you! It's okay to be unhappy with what you write, everything that you write, someone will love it!

Take this advice and live longer, friends!
