Charlie cowered under her bed, hands over her mouth to stifle her shaky breaths.

How did it turn out like this?

He stalked the halls, searching relentlessly for the Hotel's residents. He already found someone; multiple people. The booby traps that Alastor set up were being triggered or dismantled, one by one.

She could hear clanging and the tell-tale hum of magic growing ever closer to hers and Vaggie's room. The door creaked open with a melancholic whine.

He was in her room!

Charlie's heart was in her throat.

A pair of shoes crossed her line of vision twice as He walked in front of her, then turned around and left the room.

Charlie slowly uncovered her mouth to breathe a sigh of relief.

"Found you, Char-Char!"

Screaming, the Princess scrambled out from under her bed. After a moment, she pouted. "I thought I had it this time!"

Lucifer's gaze was apologetic and his shrug deep. "I was trying to leave you for last, but I think the bellhop is cheating."

"Dad! You're not supposed to play favorites in hide-and-seek!"

"We're not supposed to leave the Hotel either, but that didn't stop that deer!"

Charlie groaned, but accepted her defeat.

Lucifer's shadow, stretched out on the wall behind its owner, slowly brought its finger to its lips in a shushing motion. The huff of laughter that escaped Charlie earned her an odd look from her father, but did not delay their return to the lobby.

Technically, hiding in the shadows wasn't against the rules. This time.

Charlie just hoped that this game of hide-and-seek didn't spark too big of an argument between the Devil and the Overlord.

noticed a dip in posts about palestine on my dash, so i think it deserves to be said again: palestine is not a trend. caring about genocide is not a trend. there are still reports about humanitarian aid trucks intentionally blocked off from gaza, meaning so many fucking gazans, a big portion of them children, are just bleeding out with no help. it just came out recently that israelis disguised as women and medics infiltrated a west bank hospital, at which point they killed 3 palestinians (whom they claim were militants. right). these people are living day to day without even the most basic utilities. anyone who claims to have “activism fatigue” needs to question why they’re so severely lacking in the most basic forms of compassion. you don’t get to just grow bored of talking about palestine. please never stop calling attention to the genocide happening full force in front of us.

idk how many of you remember this but a few years ago tumblr ran a universally panned ad campaign for (us american) pride month that went "the gayest place on the internet".

well someone planning that campaign dropped in to ask the queer automatticians for advice on that and universally me and the other trans people involved were like "don't do it. i am so serious. don't do it. people on tumblr won't understand that it wasn't automattic who instituted the porn ban, or they will, but they'll recognize that automattic hasn't done anything, hands tied or not, to reverse it. nobody will like this. it will be a disaster." and they thanked us for our thoughts and went ahead with it anyway and then had to do retrospectives about how badly it went and were like "we just didn't know" and [gestures] yeah [edit: i think the person who rbed saying it was queerest place on the internet was right, my brain is fried, sorry! and that's... even worse lmao]
