[ID: A digital illustration of Caleb Widogast and Yasha Nydoorin from Critical Role. They are stood in a stone tunnel. Caleb is in front of Yasha holding a pearl up to her forehead, geometric white magic appearing as he casts a spell. Yasha looks down at Caleb, her face paint streaked down her face from crying. scared for us both.
[Image Description: Digital drawing of a slightly smaller Tentative Devotee AU Leo/Trainee sleeping against Casey (Cass), who looks at him with her face obscured. I’m gonna be completely honest.. I'm still very torn on how this turned out.
But, I think this is one of my better pieces involving a background at the same time!

The line “I wanted you to know more about me” has NEVER left me because I don’t think I’ve ever seen the experience of loneliness summed up better.
All characters’ backstories have been revealed to Sigma as background context to more crucial information that Sigma needed to know, aside from Quark who wanted Sigma to know about Tenmyouji true character.
But this bit.. isn’t even in Luna’s ending! It’s in Sigma’s! And doesn’t particularly tie up to more crucial plot lines, not until she brings up the laws of robotics, at least.
In face, a lot of Luna’s ambient dialogue in escape rooms pertains to facts about herself and has very little to do with the puzzles. She casually tells you that her favourite color is green, and that she would like to wear a wedding dress one day.
Luna just wanted to feel seen and known.
And if that isn’t the summary of the plight of loneliness, I don’t know what is. Because that’s the scariest part, really, that you feel unknown. And that feels like you’re a speck of dust floating alone in a big, big world with nothing tethered to you. And it feels so, so good when someone knows things about you, when someone knows what your favourite color is, when someone knows your favourite place is, when someone walks by a shop window and thinks of you, thinks that you’d enjoy this thing.. this is what makes you feel anchored and safe, like you’re being held in place and aren’t just going to drift away.
Everything Luna says makes me feel like there’s a lump in my throat that won’t go away.
