HER
Summary: You’ve been at college for 3 years. Now it’s time to return home to old friends, and old(er) lovers. PERFECT LITTLE SECRET P3 18+
Pairings: Fem! Reader x Milf! Wanda Maximoff, Fem! Reader x Carol Danvers (brief), Reader x Yelena x Kate (platonic).
Warnings: Angst, fluff, smut, fingering, clothed sex, masturbation, large age gap, swearing, lords name in vain?? Couldn’t find my laptop charger so shitty phone format.
Tumblr media
Lips crashed against each other as your bodies desperately ground against the other, aimlessly searching around for any bit of friction among the bedsheets in your dorm that will settle the pulsing of your core.
The hot frenzy was interrupted by the blaring of your ringtone. Ignoring it, you flipped the blonde over with all your strength, grinding down on the crotch of her jeans. The shrill ring didn’t seize however, so pushing yourself up and blowing the hair out of your face with an exasperated sigh, you picked up the device and put it to your ear, shushing the blonde that grabbed at your ass with a frustrated grunt.
“Bout time you picked up.” Drawled the Russian.
Your annoyance almost disappeared at the sound of Yelena’s voice, your friend from high school. You didn’t get to see her often, seeing as you had attended different universities for the last 3 years.
“Well I’m a little preoccupied.” You quirked, breathe still heavy.
“You better not be hooking up with Danvers again.”
You glanced down at the athlete you’re straddling, relieved that she can’t hear the disapproving voice down the line. “So what if I was?” You said through gritted teeth.
“Oh come on Y/N/N!” She exasperated, “she ruined your life!”
The guilt returns as it always did. Did she ruin your life? You still haven’t made up your mind. For a long time you thought so, but with every ignored text and voicemail message to Wanda, you started to convince yourself that maybe the older woman wasn’t the love of your life, that just maybe, Carol did the right thing by telling your parents that day. Still, you can’t help but hold some resentment towards her, hence why despite the fuck-buddy situation you have going on with her, you still refuse to have a full on relationship with the blonde no matter how much she asks.
Yelena took your silence as a sign to change the subject. “Anyway, I’ve called to invite you to a wedding.”
“It’s not yours and Kate’s is it?” You chuckled.
“Ew, as if.” She scoffed. “It’s Nat’s, she’s finally popped the question to Maria.”
“I don’t know Lena, I’m kinda disappointed that your sister’s off the market.” You teased, shuffling when you felt Carol tense under you.
“Fuck off.” You can practically hear her eyes rolling through the phone. “It’s this weekend.”
“This weekend? Christ, they hardly have given me any time to think about it.”
“What can I say? Lesbians.”
You shrugged at her short explanation. To be fair, it’s completely Natasha’s style to plan such an important event with such little time to prepare.
“Listen,” she continues, “I know you don’t like coming back home after everything that happened with your folks, but I miss you, or whatever.”
You rolled your eyes, but smiled anyway. “I’ll be there.”
If you knew that the invite Yelena presented you with would lead you to having a breakdown in your parents’ drive-way… well actually, you’re not all that surprised. Sure, the long drive to your home town had sent plenty of stressful thoughts and scenarios through your head, but the sight of the red Buick you knew all too well parked in the drive across the road confirmed them all. She was still here. She exists, she’s alive, and she still lives here.
You’re not sure how long you sat in your car just watching, waiting for any sign of movement behind the drawn curtains of the house. Her house.
You weren’t sure really how to feel. Wanda Maximoff dropped you the minute your parents threatened her that fateful night.
She didn’t answer the door no matter how much you knocked, and she didn’t answer the phone no matter how much you called. Still, she never blocked you, and your sent messages still remain on “read.” It sickens you how much hope that word fuelled you with, reminding you of the days you just sat there waiting for her to send a response, a response devoting herself to you and confessing her love all over again.
Stop it. You force your gaze to leave the car as you finally make the move to enter your childhood home. You’re over her.. Right?
The sound of silverware scraping dinner plates was the only sound breaking the thick tension of the dining room. Your parents are happy that you’re back, sure, and you were happy to see them. Still, your relationship with them hasn’t been the same since the exposure of your endeavours with Wanda. You fought hard with them for a while before you eventually up and moved for college, leaving a strained relationship with them behind.
Your time away from home (and a heck load of time in therapy) gave you enough time to process everything that happened, and even gave you the strength to forgive your parents. At the end of the day they were only doing what they believed was right in order to protect you, and you couldn’t help but love them for it now that you’ve matured.
Buzz, buzz
You glanced at your phone. Carol.
Buzz, buzz
“Those your college friends honey?” Your father spoke through a mouthful of potato.
“It’s just Carol” you muttered, turning it on do not disturb for an hour.
“Oh Carol!” Your mother tuned in. “I’m glad you’re still seeing her sweetheart, she’s a lovely girl.”
“Yeah.” You stated through gritted teeth.
“Why aren’t you bringing her to the wedding?”
You wiped your mouth with a napkin, stalling an answer to your mum’s nosiness. “I don’t have a plus one, I’m just going with Lena and Kate.”
“Oh,” you can see her cringe physically cringe, “those two.”
The doorbell rang. Speak of the devils.
“Gotta go!” The chair scraped as you got up from the table hastily, silverware clashing with plates as your knees bumped the table on your way up.
“Y/n!” You ignored the scolding as you sprinted to the door, flinging it open and throwing yourself at the two awaiting bodies.
The three of you clung on to each other, giggling when you caught your elbow on Kate’s chin. And just like that things felt normal, the three of you were just hanging out after school, and you hadn’t met Wanda yet.
“Dude! I just saw your ex milf peering through the window. She’s still hot.” Kate laughed, and silence followed.
“Kate, what the fuck?” Yelena looked at her dumbly, luckily not catching your eyes flickering to the quiet house across the street.
“Shit, sorry Y/n/n.” The tall girl pursed her lips.
“It’s alright.” You let out a half real/half fake chuckle, reaching up to throw an arm over her shoulder and steering her inside, the blonde closely following.
The girls ignored your parents, as they have been doing for the past three years, and followed you straight up to your room. For the next hour you laze around on your bed, gossiping, catching up and discussing Nat’s big day tomorrow.
“And she didn’t invite me to her hen night? Can you believe that?” Yelena is mid-rant about her sister (again) when your phone comes off do not disturb.
Buzz buzz
“I mean I’m so fun! Right? You agree with that right? I’m so fun?”
“You’re so fun!” Kate chimes in, sipping on the bottle of rum you had been passing around.
Buzz buzz
“Jesus, who the fuck is that y/n? I’m trying to be pathetic in peace here.” Yelena paused her rant, picking up your phone before you could grab it yourself.
“Oh, my, god.”
“Yelena-“ she pulls the phone away from you, standing up before you can grab it back and begins reading out the messages whilst pacing back and forth.
“I miss tasting you!” She reads, walking around the room as you follow her, making attempts at getting your phone back.
“Woah!” Kate exclaims, looking at you with a dropped jaw. Her mouth hangs open more little by little as Yelena continues to read the messages coming through.
“Why didn’t you invite me to the wedding, I mean I was right there”
“Y/n, pick up the phone.”
“I miss you.”
“You’re with her again aren’t you?”
“I love you, you know I do.”
“-For fucks sake Y/n, she’s mental!” Yelena is exclaims, concern painting her brow as she looks through the messages.
“Who’s this?” Kate leans over the bed, peering over Yelena’s shoulder to get a look at the phone. “Ugh, ‘Captain’? I thought you were done with her.”
“I’m trying to be!” You exasperate, star-fish collapsing on your bed. “It’s just hard, despite everything I know she’s at least going to be there when I need her, you know?”
“Yeah, cause she left you no other choice.” Yelena scoffed. “She’s getting weird babe, it’s time you drop her. For real.”
“Alright.” You roll your eyes. She was getting pretty needy to be fair.
Buzz
“Oh here we go- oh, fuck.” Sitting up, you see the pair looking at each other in shock.
“What is it?” You take your phone back, but not before Yelena gets a final swipe in. Looking at the screen, you see nothing but needy messages from Carol.
“Nothing,” Lena shrugs, shooting Kate a suspicious look. “Just Danvers being a freak.”
Soon the girls left, leaving you alone in your room. It had gone dark outside now, the moon illuminating the parts of your childhood bedroom that the dim bedside lamp could not reach. Your parents had long gone to bed, and there you stood, standing in front of the window and finally letting yourself take in reality. The curtains of her window were closed, but you could see a smidge of light seeping out of the slight gap in the curtain. It was too far away to see in the gap, but the light was enough. You knew she was there, and just the thought left you absolutely soaked.
It seemed like just yesterday your breath was fogging up that very window, chest pressed against the glass, heaving with every pump of her hips. Suddenly you were hot, so very hot. It had been a while since you thought of her like this- actually, that’s a lie. You thought of her like this a lot. What you hadn’t done in a while, is touched yourself whilst thinking of her like this. You usually had distractions, you had Carol. But this time you were alone, and so with the curtains wide open, you began to strip. You took your clothes off slow and sultry, like you used to knowing she was looking. You closed your eyes and pretended, you pretended it was three years ago and the woman you pine for is watching from the window across the street and you show her what’s hers.
Goosebumps followed every brush of your hands as you shred the clothes from your body, breath getting heavier, pussy getting wetter. Before you knew it you were throwing yourself on to your bed, reaching over for the vibrator that had been long forgotten in your bedside table. You let out a sigh of relief as it came to life with a click of the button, the batteries still work. You teased it over the hard peaks of your nipples as you lowered it to your aching core, gasping when it was finally pressed against your pulsing clit.
Fantasies and memories alike flood through your mind as you rubbed the vibrator against your aching bud with one hand, two fingers from the other entering your hole. There was always one common factor with these thoughts, Wanda. You fucked yourself vigorously as you thought of her, of what she might do to you if she was here. Fuck, you missed her. You came with her name slipping past your lips, and with that you knew you weren’t over her, you never could be.
Feeling relief, and some slight self-judgement over what you had just done, you switched the light off before turning over to sleep. Had you been facing the window, maybe you would have seen the slight twitch of her curtains, and her light switching off soon after yours.
Pulling your pencil knee length dress down as you stood, you clapped as the beautiful newlyweds began to make their way down the aisle “I can’t believe they pulled it off,” you muttered to the sobbing brunette beside you.
“T-that was so beautiful.” Kate managed to comment through sobs.
“Oh for god’s sake Bishop keep it together” Yelena elbowed her on her other side.
Nat and Maria’s ceremony was beautiful. Despite it being planned so last minute, it was well put together. They managed to host the wedding at their friend’s hotel. It was quiet and small, only close family and friends attended the ceremony. Now, more people were slowly migrating through the doors as the reception went full swing.
You were just getting in to the ABBA song playing over the speakers, politely sipping on your martini when you were aggressively turned around by your friends that had been acting weird all evening.
“Hey! Heyyy Y/n” Kate grinned weirdly at you.
“Uh, hi Kate?” You looked between the two of them, getting weirded out by how they were smiling awkwardly and constantly glancing over your shoulder. You turned to see what they were looking at, but was immediately pulled back by Yelena’s hand on your face.
“Y/n we have to tell you something!” Kate suddenly screeched.
“No we don’t!” Lena glared at her.
“Oh come on Yel! We can’t avoid her all night.” She groaned, loosening her purple tie.
The blonde ran her fingers through her hair in frustration. “Fine! Y/n, Kate has to tell you something.”
“Oh fuck off Yelena!” Rebutted the brunette.
“Fine! I have to tell you something..”
You began to get nervous. “Uh, okay?”
“Last night, when I was looking at Carol’s messages.. another one came through..”
“Okay? And?” You tried to catch her gaze, but her eyes kept darting between you and whatever it was that was happening behind you.
“It was Wanda.” She winced.
“What?”
“She wanted to let you know she was coming to the wedding..”
“What?”
“I had no idea she knew Nat or Maria I swear!”
“Why didn’t I see the message?” You questionably muttered, your brain feeling completely frazzled.
“I deleted it.” She physically winced.
“What? Why?” You yelled over the music.
“Because I knew you’d freak out!”
“And THIS is better? Oh my god! I’ve got to go! I’ve gotta get out, KATE HELP ME GET OUT!” You shook the brunette by her shoulders.
“It’s too late Y/n!” She pointed behind you.
Finally you turned around, and your heart skipped a beat when your eyes met the green of hers.
Her name dusted your lips on instinct, a name you found yourself missing saying, missing moaning. She looked different, not bad different, just different. Her hair was longer and brighter, combating the dullness in her orbs. Her jaw and cheekbones are more strongly defined than the supple skin you used to kiss. She was slimmer, she almost looked taller. But she was still Wanda. Your Wanda.
Once you came to you finally realised the two of you had just been stood staring at each other from across the room, both taking the other in. You knew you looked different too, and you found yourself hoping she still saw the girl she once loved in you.
“I should, um..” You didn’t even finish whatever your excuse was going to be before your feet were carrying you towards her. She stayed rooted in place, but didn’t break her stare once.
The walk towards her felt like it was forever, though it was only maybe ten seconds. Ten seconds that you spend trying to come up with something to say. Though when you stop just a foot in front of her, you’ve got nothing.
You stood with your mouth open like a fish out of water before you managed to slip out a shy “Hi-”
“-You are so beautiful.” She said at the same time as your pathetic greeting with a sweet delicacy.
“Oh..” Was all you could get your stupid mouth to say.
She looked at you with the same gentleness she usually did, with soft eyes and a tender smile. “How is it possible for you to be even more beautiful than you were then?”
“Well I guess I grew up.” Finally your brain remembered to form sentences.
“I guess you did.” She glanced at the floor, breaking the stare off you didn’t even realise you were having. “Y/n,” your breath hitched hearing her say your name, “will you walk with me?”
You looked at the hand she was offering to you, unsure one what your next move should be.
“I completely understand if you want to go back to your friends and pretend I was never here,” she said strongly, “but I would really like the opportunity to explain myself to you.”
You’re not sure if this explanation was going to make or break you, but god you know you wanted to hear it. So for the first time in 3 years, you took her hand, and followed.
She led you out the doors and through the busy end of the garden until you came across a still, lonely pond. Forgetting about your nice dress that you did not intend to get dirty tonight, you plonked yourself onto the grass, freezing up when she sat next to you.
You broke the silence. “What are you even doing here?”
Wanda thought for a few seconds before she answered. “When what happened, happened.. I guess your friend told Natasha about everything. A week later Maria shows up at my door, and I’m thinking your parents have actually done it, you know? Told everyone? But she sat me down and she just.. let me talk about you, and she supported me. She helped me through everything and if it wasn’t for her I.. I don’t know. She became my friend when I really needed one. Anyway of course she invited me to her wedding and she was kind enough to warn me you were going to be here. I figured I should probably reach out..”
“Yeah I didn’t exactly get that message.” You laughed, “Yelena panicked and deleted it before I could see it.”
She chuckled, “those friends of yours, I always liked them.”
“I thought they annoyed you.” I teased.
“They were slightly annoying,” she laughed, nodding her head. “But they care for you, and they’ve been good friends to you.”
Bitterness swelled when you recalled one of the main reasons as to why you needed their care in the first place. “Yeah well, god knows I needed it.”
She swallowed, slowly nodding. “I’m sorry.”
You scoffed.
“I am Y/n, you have no idea how much.” She faced you, grabbing your hands in hers. You couldn’t bring yourself to pull away. Any measly contact from her sends you in to a secret euphoria. “I swear you have no idea how much I wanted to reach out to you, how many times I picked up the phone without pressing accept, how many times I stood on the other side of the door without opening it-“
“And that’s supposed to make me feel better?” You ripped your hands away from here, but she immediately grabbed them back.
“No! I’m just-“ her lip quivered, you could see her eyes getting watery just as yours were. “I’m just trying to tell you that what I said that day, after your parents caught us, I meant it. I have never wanted anyone like I have wanted you, which is why it was so hard to let you go.”
“So why did you?” You asked calmly.
“Because as real as we were your parents were kind of right too. I’m old, Y/n, and you were, are, so young. I have two kids, an ex-husband, I spend my Friday nights baking and my Saturdays at book club! What business did someone like me have being with someone like you?” She cried.
“Because you loved me! You love me.” Salty tears rolled over the corners of your lips, swollen from how much you had been biting them without even realising.
“I did,” she nodded “I do.”
Your wet doe eyes dropped to her red lips as she drew nearer, tilting back at her eyes again which had gone darker in just a second. They were harrowing and loving, as she wondered what the hell she had been doing those years without you.
“Three years without you was everything and nothing all at once.” She spat out passionately before quickly pressing her lips against yours. You immediately kissed back, the thought of pushing her way not even gracing your mind for a millisecond. Subconsciously, you had been waiting for this moment for a long time.
“I never stopped thinking about you.” She whispered between desperate kisses. Oh, how you missed this.
“Me neither.” You replied, grasping at her suit jacket with selfish hands, falling back on to the grass and pulling her half on top of you. You quivered as her ringed fingers explored your matured curves, slowly moving on from soft grazes to rough grips of the flesh of your thighs and ass.
“I fucking love you detka, you’re never leaving me again. You belong with me, understand?” She spoke in to your neck after she kissed her way down your jaw. You whimpered at the pet name, this being the first time you’ve heard it in so long. You could feel your lace getting uncomfortably wet as you soaked in her possessive talk.
She pinched your thigh when you didn’t respond. “Understand?”
“Yes mommy I understand!” You squealed.
She moaned against your mouth at the term, she missed hearing you whimper it, moan it, scream it.
It has been quite some time since you said it too, and just like that you were snapped back in to the space you once were, forever and always hers.
“Touch me, please mommy, touch my pussy.” You begged through a whisper, looping your fingers in the belt loops by her hips, pulling her in to you until you could feel the gyrating of her hips against your thigh.
She groaned, dropping her head to leave open, wet kisses on your exposed cleavage as she got lost in the feeling of her heat grinding against the muscle of your thigh. She slipped a warm hand up the skirt of your dress, not wasting a second before she was pushing your panties aside and gathering your wetness among her fingers.
She withdrew her hand and traced her slick fingers over your bottom lip. “Can anyone other than mommy make you this wet?”
You shook your head rigorously, tongue reaching out to taste yourself. You didn’t get the chance as she was already sticking them in her own mouth, moaning at the taste. “Mm I’ve missed your taste baby, but I can take my time with that later. For now, you need your cute little cunt fucked don’t you?”
You barely had time to respond before you were throwing your head back, moaning out her name as she plunged two long fingers in to you, curling them in a come hither motion with every thrust. You could only imagine the grass stains your dress would be covered in after this, your back rubbed and wriggled against the green blades with every thrust of her wrist. She put all her body in to fucking you, getting herself off on your thigh at the same time.
You grabbed and scratched at every part of the older woman that you could reach as your body grew rigid as it reached its release.
Wanda chuckled darkly against your sweat-shined skin. “Already detka? It’s a good thing we’ve got all night.”
You came hard on her fingers, harder than you have in the last three years. She was right, no one else could possibly make you feel like this. She ground her hips in to you harder, moaning lowly as the friction against her clit brought her to her climax not long after your own. She collapsed on your still body, breathing heavily as she rolled on to her back, pulling you in to her side.
You still couldn’t believe this was real, who knew this is where you’d end up upon returning home. Part of you wished you had come back sooner. A quiet whisper slipped past your lips, but she heard it. “I missed you.”
Pulling you closer, she pressed her puffy lips to your forehead in a firm kiss. “I missed you too darling.” She brushed her nose against yours, gazing in to your eyes. “I was serious you know, I’m not letting you go.”
“I know,” you smiled, “I’m not going anywhere.”

Eye Patch
The one in which Harry's kids get scared when their father gets hurt on stage.
.....................................................................................………
When Harry and Y/N's twins started to grow into toddlers, the couple quickly noticed that their youngest struggled to control her eye. That's why they didn't waste any time, and sooner rather than later, three-year-old Lena was wearing an eye patch to try to fix her strabismus.
The process of getting her used to wearing it was long and exhausting for Harry and Y/N, and they tried very hard to make it fun, buying eye patches with different shapes and designs. Their other twin, Harvey, was the most supportive of his sister, and he offered to wear matching eye patches with her whenever she was self-conscious about wearing it in public.
Harry and Y/N's twins might be toddlers, but they love and understand each other like no one else, and that fascinates their parents. Besides, the couple has tried so hard to make them understand that they are loved and supported no matter what, and it is very important to express their feelings with each other.
"Daddy do we have good seats for your concert tomorrow?" Harvey asks suddenly during their daily family dinner.
"Of course, my boy. The best in the house, always!" Harry answers, furrowing his brows. "Why do you ask, baby? You know you always get the best".
"I know, daddy!" His son answers playfully. "But it's the first time sissy is going to the concert with her eye patch, and I want her to have the best time".
Harry and Y/N can swear that their hearts melted when those words left their son's mouth.
"Oh," says Lena. "Daddy, I'm going to see you singing, right? You are going to be so far away, I need to see you".
Lena has always been a very anxious baby, and the family had, and still is, dealing with some heavy separation anxiety from her. The eye issue only added to this, and it has been hard for the couple to manage.
"Don't get nervous, my best girl" Harry tried to comfort her. "You three will have the best seats in the venue, and the important thing is to have fun! You see me every day, and I'm available always".
This seems to cheer her up, and the family moves on from this topic to talk about school. Sudden changes in conversation subjects are very common in the house, and Harry and Y/N can't lie and say they don't love it when their kids bring up things they want to tell their parents. Seeing them interact is one of their favorite things ever since they started to talk.
Dinner finished, and the kids were put to bed with a story read by Y/N and their song, Love of my life, sung by their father. It was not an easy thing to do like it usually is because they were too excited about their concert the next day. Even though Harry has toured for a while after they were born, this is the first time his twins are in the audience, watching him perform. Before this second leg of Love On Tour, they stayed backstage with Y/N and whoever would watch over them while Harry was putting on a show.
However, not long ago the twins started to feel more curious and understand more about their parent's, especially Harry's, lifestyle. That is the reason why they have let them watch the concerts whenever they show any interest about it.
The next day came by very quickly, and now the kids are getting ready with Y/N while Harry is rehearsing and putting together the outfit for tonight.
Lena has decided to wear a silver sparkly skirt that matches her cowboy hat paired with a t-shirt with a red heart in the middle, and Harvey is wearing bell jeans paired with a matching t-shirt with her sister and a royal blue boa. Y/N has let them choose their outfits, wanting them to have the most freedom possible, and she has to say she is quite proud of what they have come up with.
Unfortunately, the family didn't have enough time to wish Harry good luck like they usually would have, seeing that there had been an outfit malfunction, according to Harry Lambert, and the whole band was running late. This upset the kids for two minutes, and then Y/N suggested a face time call with Harry.
"Hi, my babies. I'm so sorry I can't see you before the show" He says with a pout on his face. "I promise I'll blow you a kiss from the stage, and give you lots of cuddles when I finish" Y/N can see the sadness on his face, knowing that he is upset he is not going to be able to get his good luck kiss and cuddle from his two favorite people.
"Don't worry daddy", says Lena. "Harvs and I just wanted to show you our outfits that mummy let us choose by ourselves!".
"Oh, isn't that right baby girl? Can you do a little twirl for daddy?" he says getting his face as close to the screen as possible, squinting his eyes to try to see his precious daughter in the most detail possible. "Daddy really wants to see your outfits".
The family spent the next thirty minutes following Harry around, from the make up chair to his changing room and everything, through his phone, until the moment it was time for him to change into his chosen outfit and get in the box.
"Okay babies, I need to go get ready", he tells them sounding way too devastated for him to be seeing them in less than fifteen minutes. "I'll see you on stage okay? Try to raise your hands the highest, sing the loudest, and have the most fun for me".
The kids promised to do all of that before blowing him multiple kisses and hanging up. They needed to get to their seats right now if they wanted to avoid getting swarmed by some fans. They are usually very polite and nice to Y/N, and especially the kids, but Y/N doesn't want to risk it without Harry there to help her.
They got there safely, and the twins, who are seated on each side of you, are happy to see that their father was right and that they have extremely good seats. They will be able to see their father without a problem.
"Mummy it's starting!" Harvey shrieks when the lights go out and the intro visuals start playing. "Oh my god mummy, I'm so excited!" Y/N never gets tired of how excited he gets every time he sees his dad in concert, it is always as if it was the first time.
Lena clings to your arm from the other side of you, her excitement for the concert to start being silent compared to her brother's. Y/N starts shouting and jumping with excitement as well, making her children copy her and start singing the songs. They also notice that Harry's outfit matches his children's, so that makes them shout even louder.
Harry doesn't take long to find them and when he sends a kiss to his family, the "Muah" that goes with his kiss is heard in the whole arena, making everyone aww.
"Mummy daddy can see us!" Both of the twins exclaim, shocked their father can see them from the stage. "If I send him a kiss will he see me?" Lena asks, genuinely curious.
You don't know how to answer because Harry is constantly moving on stage, so it would be very easy for him to miss his daughter trying to blow him a kiss. Nonetheless, Lena doesn't wait for her mothers approval and blows a kiss towards the stage.
Unbeknownst to Y/N, Harry had been watching the whole interaction, and he didn't hesitate to take her daughter's kiss in the air and put it in his back pocket, making Lena squeal.
The concert goes as expected, and Y/N and the twins are having so much fun. Besides, Y/N is quick to notice that, distracted from the excitement, Lena hasn't once complained about the eye patch she has been in fact wearing in public. That is a huge achievement.
Y/N had planned to leave the seats and go backstage right before kiwi so they wouldn't have trouble getting there later. Nevertheless, a gasp distracts her from dancing carefree to one of the last songs of the concert.
"Mummy something happened to daddy", Lena says with concern in her voice. "Mummy someone threw something at daddy" She repeated, starting to tear up.
This makes Harvey notice how his father is rubbing his eye, and keeping it closed for way too long, making him worry and start clinging to his mum as well.
Both kids start full-on sobbing when they see their father unable to open his eye on stage, constantly rubbing it and trying to block the light from his eyes. Y/N hadn't seen the object, and she definitely doesn't want to ask her kids, so she is unable to assess the gravity of the situation. The only thing she is able to do is to take both of her kids in her arms and carry them backstage.
Once they get there she sits the kids on the sofa and dries their tears, trying to comfort them. "My babies don't cry"; she coos. "Daddy is the strongest person in the world, I'm sure he is fine. It just took him by surprise!"
This last sentence seems to calm the three-year-old twins, and they end up cuddling their mother, soft whines coming from them from time to time, sleepy eyes from all the tears getting hard for them to open.
The kids jump when they hear the door open, and when Harry goes straight to the bathroom instead of greeting them, they immediately start sobbing again. Harry hears them from the inside, and he is quick to open the door once he has checked his eye, and get to his babies as soon as possible.
"Oh my, sweet things", he says, quickly kneeling next to them and being almost pushed to the floor by the force his kids hugged him with. "What's happened? Did you not enjoy the show? Was it too loud?"
The kids don't respond, and Harry keeps rubbing their backs and kissing their tears away, unaware and completely clueless about what has made his sweethearts so upset.
"Daddy, someone hurt your eye!" Harvey exclaims with anger. "You are hurt, daddy". Harry's heart breaks with how upset he is.
"There is nothing to worry about, sunshine", he explains. "Daddy got hurt for a moment, but now I just need an ice eye patch to make the sting go away. I'll be perfect again in an hour".
"Eye patch?", his daughter perks up at the comment. "We match again?"
"Yeah baby, I'm going to match with the prettiest princess in the world", he tells her soflty.
"But mummy is the prettiest princess in the world", she fights back playfully.
"No no no, mummy is a queen", he clarifies turning to his wife. "Your mummy is the prettiest and most gorgeous queen in the entire planet".
"I agree", both of their kids say at the same time. "And then Harvey is the prettiest prince, and you are the prettiest king", finishes Lena, making Harry give her the biggest kiss on the cheek.
"That is right", Y/N answers while sitting down close to her family. "We are all beautiful and special in our own ways, isn't that right?".
"This deserves a big family hug for daddy to heal his eye, don't you think?", Harvey suggests, making Harry smile and hug his kids even closer. Y/N gets in the hug, giving Harry a passionate kiss and a knowing smile, she is sure that they are both thinking the same thing.
Their family is perfect, and they are the happiest they have ever been.

“We should probably just do vanilla cake, right?”
“Our daughter is not boring. She should have confetti cake.”
“Vanilla isn’t boring!”
“It’s literally called being vanilla when someone doesn’t like a little fun in the bedroom, Steve.”
“First of all, don’t call me that. Second of all, she’s turning one. She’s not gonna care. She’s never had most of this stuff.”
“So her first adventure with it should be fun!”
Steve and Eddie had been arguing about Ella’s first birthday for a month now. It was starting to become an issue as it was two weeks away and they’d planned nothing except for the guest list.
Even Robin was starting to get worried they wouldn’t be able to pull it off.
“What if we let her pick?”
“She’s one.”
“Yeah, and? We give her two options on pieces of paper and she picks one.”
“That’s a terrible idea.”
“Why?”
“Because what if she picks princess plates but dinosaur decorations?”
“Why can’t she have both?”
Steve glared at him.
“I’m just saying, she’s one. This party is more for us than her, and she won’t remember it.”
“But there’ll be pictures.”
“And when we all look back at them, she’ll be happy that we let her have whatever made her little one year old brain happy.”
Steve sighed, which meant Eddie was winning. This was the first time he’d had the upper hand the whole time.
“Where can we get a confetti cake?”
“You know Lena? Owns the bakery by the tattoo place?”
“The one who gave you the notebook of all the queer friendly spots in town?”
Eddie snaps his fingers and points at Steve.
“That’s her! She already offered to make one.”
“And you told her yes already, didn’t you?”
“I can neither confirm nor deny such allegations.”
Steve rolled his eyes and turned to continue writing things on his checklist that had nothing checked off.
“We also should check with Joyce about using the cabin. I know we said renting the bar out in the morning would be good, but imagine a first birthday in a bar.”
“It’s metal as hell, Stevie.”
“It’s questionable parenting, Eds.”
And here they were at another problem.
————————————
“So you’ve accomplished nothing?”
“We got a cake!”
Eddie was sitting on the couch supervising Ella’s play time while Steve and Robin were “planning” her party in the kitchen.
Eddie had been banished from all party endeavors after he brought home a baby-sized electric guitar and drum set and said it was for her to play at the party.
Robin took over and, admittedly, they’d accomplished a lot more already.
But this was their first official meeting and Robin was shocked to find out that they had next to nothing with only one week until the party.
“You stop talking!” Robin yelled back at him.
So he focused on entertaining Ella.
“Baby girl, I don’t know about you, but this party planning business is not what it’s cracked up to be. Maybe we should just give you your presents here and call it a day, hm?”
“Dada! Pay!”
“Yes, baby, I’m playin’.”
He helped her build a castle with her alphabet blocks, smiling when she pointed to the D and said “D. Dada!”
She was so fucking smart, it was scary.
When she got bored with the blocks, she started tapping on her plastic keyboard, hitting the same two notes again and again.
Eddie showed her the D key.
“This is D, Ella. See this one? You push this and it makes a D note. D like Dada!”
Ella pushed the key and then clapped.
“D! D!”
“Yeah, D!”
She kept smacking the D key, and Eddie kept smiling at her.
Someone cleared their throat behind him and he turned to see Steve smiling down at them, hands on his hips.
“Oh. Ella, show Daddy what you learned.”
“D! Dada! Daddy!” She said as she banged the D key.
Steve sat down next to Eddie and put his hand on his knee, squeezing it once before running his thumb back and forth over the hole in his jeans.
“You showed her that?”
“I’m gonna make her into a baby Mozart,” he said as he nodded. “She’s a natural.”
“Okay, love.”
“How’d the planning go?”
“Robin’s handling it.”
“All of it?”
Steve sighed.
“She said I’m being unreasonable.”
“But when I say it, I’m being rude and not giving you a chance.”
“When she says it, I know it’s true. When you say it, I know it’s because you’re not getting your way.”
“Do you hear this Ella? Slander from your father. I remember when it was just you and me, playing some tunes…”
“Oh my god,” Steve said around a laugh.
“Sometimes three’s a crowd, huh Ella?”
“Dada song!”
“Here, I play, you help.”
Eddie sat Ella in his lap and moved the keyboard in front of them, holding her tiny hands in his to guide them through Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
Steve clapped at the end of it, beaming at them both as if they’d just performed at Madison Square Garden.
“Incredible. I’d offer you a record deal on the spot.”
“Already had that, I’m retired. Thank you, though.”
Eddie kissed the top of Ella’s head as she kept banging on the keys, then leaned over to kiss Steve’s forehead.
————————————
Robin pulled off a hell of a party.
Not only did she manage to find princess rock star decorations, but she managed to find a live band that was willing to play kids songs, and a caterer who was willing to serve an entirely new menu so last minute.
There was even an open bar for the adults.
Eddie’s entire band and their families were there, the Hawkins crew and their families, Steve’s coworkers and their families, and most surprising of all, Steve’s mom.
He’d gone back and forth on whether to even invite her, but since she’d left his dad, she’d been trying to reconcile and get to know him again.
She brought a Barbie dream house because she didn’t seem to understand that one year olds weren’t quite at Barbie level, but it was the thought that counted or so Eddie kept reminding Steve when he got mad about “thoughtless gifts that just take up space.”
Ella loved playing with all the kids and sharing her new toys. Eddie and Steve had built her a play set at home that she didn’t even see yet.
She was spoiled, but it was the best kind.
Not the kind that Steve had growing up; useless and thoughtless gifts that were flashy and expensive because that’s what helped his parents feel better about leaving him with nannies or alone.
The kind where love was in abundance, where everyone wanted her to have the best because they loved her, where the best was sometimes the dollar store magic wand and tiara set so she could play princess and sometimes was a toddler sized drum set. Everyone came to her party because they were excited she was part of the family, not because they expected a big blowout with the finest food and drinks money can buy.
Eddie took a moment to look around at everyone. He never knew he’d end up here, he couldn’t have even dreamed it in his wildest ones that came from being cross faded in high school.
Steve wrapped his arms around him from behind, kissing his shoulder when he started to lean back.
“Turned out great, right?”
“It did, sweetheart. Always does with you.”

Blue and Fire Engine Red #3
TW: reference/depiction of school shooting (no onscreen deaths)
---
Kara’s choice of bar proves to be the perfect opposite of the bright and open firehouse. Its dim ambience feels cozy, and the low light helps ground her, letting her release some of the bravado that fueled the sexually charged tit for tat she’s been firing towards Lena. She hopes tonight will be something more than that.
Of course, that doesn’t keep Kara’s insides from positively melting when Lena walks in the door. She looks positively pedestrian out of uniform, in a loose muscle tank layered over a snug tank top, and her jeans even snugger. But her gaze glints when it finds Kara in the small two person booth towards the back. Kara’s chosen a relatively isolated corner– not to hide, but rather from a desire to not share the woman who slides in across from her.
“Glad you found the place okay,” Kara greets, grinning.
“Yeah, you kind of forgot to mention that it was literally underground.” Lena wrinkles her nose when Kara’s grin widens puckishly. “Fink.”
Kara laughs. “Let’s just say it makes for a good conversation starter.”
An arch brow answers her. “So you bring girls here a lot then.”
“Uhhmm…”
Pink lips soon soften into a teasing grin. “Relax. I’m joking.”
Releasing a sigh, Kara lets her shoulders relax. Before she can say anything, a waiter appears to take their drink orders.
“The first of a few, I hope,” the girl says brightly. She turns towards Lena first. “Your usual, Lena?”
Green eyes twinkle at Kara in the low light, clearly enjoying the way Kara’s mouth falls open. She’s been had.
“That would be lovely,” Lena returns.
The server nods, then turns to Kara. “And what can I get you?”
Kara tries not to frown. “Rum and coke,” she grumbles dejectedly. “And onion rings.”
“Excellent choice! Your drinks will be out momentarily, but the rings will take a few minutes. Is that okay?”
Lena nods, giving the girl a winning smile. “That’s totally fine, Jess,” she purrs. “We’ll be here for a while.”
Jess moves away to another table, leaving them to themselves. Kara glares at Lena, who shrugs with an abashed grin.
“I served with Jess’ brother.”
Ears pricking with interest, Kara leans forward. “Bartender?”
Lena blinks, then lifts an eyebrow. “Army.”
Kara’s eyes widen in surprise. “Oh! Wow, I didn’t even think… sorry. Medic?”
Lena nods with a hum.
“So if I talk to Jess’ brother, he’ll tell me about some daring rescue where you saved his life?”
Lena holds Kara’s light gaze for a long beat before looking down at her hands, folded on the table in front of her. “Not exactly.”
“Oh.” Kara’s stomach falls out from under her as she realizes the implication. Her cheeks start to burn. “Oh.”
There’s a long moment between them, and KAra is desperate to fill the silence.
“Thank you for your service—”
“Don’t,” Lena cuts in sharply. She takes a breath, only for it to huff out of her an instant later. “Can we talk about something else?”
Kara quickly nods. “Yeah, of course. I’m sorry–”
Jess returns then, delivering their drinks. Lena’s quiet murmur of “thanks” confirms how uncomfortable she is, and Kara kicks herself again and again for having wrecked the mood. The date has ground to a halt, she knows, and it’s her fault. Even so, she clings to hope when Lena tries to salvage the conversation.
“What about you?” Have you always wanted to be a cop?”
“Hah, well…” Kara gives a nervous smile. The short answer is no, not always. Long answer is… kinda dark, honestly.”
To Kara’s surprise, Lena gives a dark chuckle. “Well aren’t we the pair,” she drawls.
Kara feels some warmth creep back into her extremities. “I don’t mind talking about it though, if you don’t mind hearing it. If you’d rather not–”
“Whatever you’re comfortable with sharing is fine with me. It must be important if it led to you becoming a hero of law and order, so– I’d love to hear it. But no pressure.”
With a nod, Kara considers where to start. “Have you ever heard of Midvale High?” When Lena shakes her head, she continues. “Ten years ago there was a school shooting. Twenty-three students died. I was one of the survivors.”
Lena watches her solemnly, and though she seems content to simply listen, Kara lifts her hand to stave off any condolences or sympathy that might be heading her way.
“It’s okay,” she promises. “I got all the therapy, and I got to a place I can comfortably talk about it. And you know, it was the usual story: kids are awful to one kid, kid gets depressed, then angry enough to do something about it. For us, that kid was Kenny Lee, and he was my best friend.”
That’s the most shocking part, for most people. Like she said, school shootings are tragically common, but rarely does anyone realize that the shooters might actually have a friend or two.
“Kenny was a good kid– quiet, smart… he just had the wrong combination of interests, or maybe he just had the wrong face. I don’t know. The others were just… cruel. And no one did anything about it. Until one day Kenny did.”
“Did he hurt you?” Lena asks quietly.
Kara shakes her head. “No. No, he… he started in the cafeteria. I usually eat with Kenny, but he missed the first half of the day, so I ate in the bathroom that day.” She wasn’t well-liked either, so eating alone in the cafeteria always gave her enough anxiety to avoid the place.
“But I heard it. The gunfire… all that cement and linoleum… it echoes, you know? I bunkered down in the bathroom as best I could. When the shooting paused, I heard the police sirens. I thought… I didn’t know if they’d find me where I was, so when I thought it was safe, I crept into the hallway.”
Her heart had stopped when she’d recognized the back of Kenny’s head at the end of the hall. She’d gasped, and he’d whirled, lifting the weapon in his hands. When locked eyes, the rage in Kenny’s gaze had shocked her, but a moment later it gave way to apathy.
“Kara….”
“NCPD, put the gun down!”
The sound of a new voice startled them both. The rifle Kenny held jerked, and Kara’s whole body flinched. But Kenny didn’t put the gun down.
“Y-you’re going to have to kill me,” he stuttered. Kara stared at him. He looked like her friend, but there were bloody footprints behind him, and his pants were spattered with blood and… brain matter, Kara realized in horror. Her best friend had stood over someone and shot them in the head.
Trembling, Kara’s gaze bounced between Kenny and the officer who had spoken. The officer was small, barely taller than Kara, but exuded calm authority even as Kenny hefted the gun higher against his shoulder. It was too heavy, Kara realized. He wasn’t used to the weight.
“We don’t want to do that,” the officer said. Her tone was cool and clear, traveling easily down the corridor. “My name’s Officer Grant. What’s yours?”
“K-Kenny,” he stammered. Sweat beaded and slid down his forehead.
Officer Grant nodded. There was a shuffle of footsteps as more officers moved into a formation behind her. Kenny’s finger curled around the trigger, but Officer Grant lifted her hand to both put him at ease and to tell her people to hold off.
“I’m sure you have reasons for what’s happened today,” she said. “And I’m sure they feel like good ones. But no one else needs to get hurt today.”
“Yes they do!” Kenny snapped back into his rage, his features warping back into an unfamiliar mask. “He– he wasn’t there! I have to– he deserves–” His gaze locked on Kara, imploring her to understand. “He wasn’t there, Kara!”
Kara’s heart stopped. She knew exactly who he meant. Jake. The worst of them all. Kenny wanted– he was hunting. But there’d been so much gunfire already– how many people did Kenny hurt instead? Her vision wobbled, and for the first time she realized she was crying.
“Everything feels so big right now,” Officer Grant continued. “I have a son, and his emotions get so big, he just doesn’t know what to do with it. This may have felt like the only way, Kenny, but it’s not.”
“B-but… I…” Kenny sounded small again.
“You still have decisions to make, Kenny. You’re making one now– you haven’t hurt Kara.”
Kenny looked at her, tears of his own streaming down his face. “She– she’s my–” He shook his head. “She doesn’t deserve to die.”
“There are a lot of other people who don’t deserve it either. A lot of families who don’t deserve to have dinner without their kids. Your parents don’t deserve to lose their son.”
His resolve wavers. He hitches the gun again, but from exhaustion rather than ire. “I don’t know. I don’t know anymore.”
“You can choose to put the gun down, Kenny,” Officer Grant pushed gently, sensing the ground she’s gained. To Kara’s surprise, the officer’s focus shifts to her for a pointed moment before returning to Kenny. “Kara doesn’t deserve to watch you die.”
Kara’s throat locked then. She stared at Kenny, desperate. “Please, Kenny,” she croaked. Kenny didn’t look at her. “Kenny, PLEASE!”
Her legs almost gave out when he looked at her, his despair palpable. Kara knew in that moment he’d planned to die that day; the alternative would be years in prison, maybe an entire lifetime. Kara didn’t know what she would choose either.
After a long, tense moment, Kenny exhaled shakily before taking a step back. He knelt. Leaning forward, he’d slid the rifle across the floor away from him before interlocking his fingers behind his head. Before Kara could blink, officers swarmed Kenny, locking his handcuffs on his wrists and confiscating the rifle.
Officer Grant, though, came to Kara.
“Are you okay, Kara?”
An avalanche of sobs came crashing out of Kara, and Officer Grant opened her arms and held Kara as she crumbled.
“Officer Grant talked Kenny down,” Kara continues, blinking her way back to the low-lit bar. Lena waits on the other side of the booth, her features patient and calm. Kara offers a small, quiet smile. “She talked him down, by talking to him. Not as a monster, but as a person. Her compassion won out over his anger, and it saved lives.”
Lena reaches across the table, clasping Kara’s in hers. Her thumbs rub soft circles against Kara’s skin, further grounding her back in the present. “She inspired you.”
Kara turns her hand, letting her palm settle fully in Lena’s. “She did. A few years later, she was the one who gave me my badge. Literally. Her signature is on my graduation certificate.”
“I bet she remembered you.”
“She did,” Kara confirms. Then she snorts, dispelling the somber mood. “Not that it won me any favors. In fact, I was pretty sure she hated me right up until she pinned my badge on my chest.”
Lena laughs. “Oh, man, I could spend days telling you about basic. The worst.”
Kara squeezes the hand in hers, giving a genuine smile. “I look forward to it. But first…”
She pauses when she sees Jess heading towards them with a basket of food in her hands.
“Onion rings!”

[for @unicyclehippo as part of our little series for ea other — outside switzerland era pov, or: the kind, amused things a vintage shopkeeper & her wife in switzerland think of ava & beatrice. also on ao3.]
//
one hot afternoon the door rings and a girl rushes through, a little bit of a hurricane, and another follows, calm in the eye of a storm she seems both exasperated by and fond of at once.
you’re used to an influx of university students during the summer months. many are passing through, on their way from zurich to berlin or munich; some are just relaxing here, passing time before they’re inevitably swept back into their everyday lives. you’ve lived here for a long time, since you yourself stumbled on this town just after you finished a degree in marketing that could have been of use but sparked so little joy you decided to give yourself a year, or two, or maybe five, to figure out something better, something happier. you’d worked at the vintage store before it was yours, with its previous owner, clara, taking a shine to you, even though, in those days, you were quieter, reserved, kept mostly to yourself. when she had wanted to retire, she sold the shop to you for much less than you knew it was worth — you buy her groceries and weed her lawn and fix anything in her house; you have her over for dinner every sunday.
it’s a good life, especially when it’s quiet in the morning, just before the shop opens, and you spin the pretty ring around aleyna’s finger and kiss her while she laughs and tastes like coffee. in those moments, with her black hair and the wrinkles that have gotten deeper around the edges of her mouth, under her eyes — from smiling, from your small home and the blue eggs the chickens in your yard lay, from her books and her records in this store that she sells with care and fondness, the way she does everything — that you love. in those moments, and in so many others, too — there is no better a life that you can imagine.
‘hello, you say in german. ‘welcome. i’m lena. is there anything i can help you with?’
‘i’m ava,’ one says, enthusiastic and rocking on her heels once, trying to keep her excitement in; she’s beautiful in a pretty way, in a young way, with messy, tangled light hair and a t-shirt with a hole in the sleeve. ‘and this is beatrice.’ she gestures to the girl beside her, a little older, stoic and straight backed, although she offers a smile, almost apologetic. she has on a black jumpsuit and her hair is in a neat bun at the back of her head. she waves. ‘we both use she/her pronouns, i don’t really care, though. and we’re staying here for the summer!’ ava continues, in perfect german, a happy smile on her face. ‘at least that long, i guess. we’re on sabbatical. anyway, we need stuff!’
‘clothes,’ beatrice clarifies. ‘our apartment is already furnished, ava.’
ava doesn’t seem deterred in the slightest. 'we need fun things too.’ ava takes beatrice’s hand and squeezes, which makes beatrice’s eyes go wide and you want to laugh, just a little. ‘but, yes, clothes.’
‘clothes can be fun,’ you say. ava grins; beatrice grimaces at you, a small warning not to encourage ava too much, it seems. you lead them over to some of your more casual shirts and summer tank tops, which ava seems immediately delighted by.
‘is it okay if i try things on?’
‘of course.’ you point toward one of the small dressing rooms near the back, with heavy curtains.
‘by the way,’ ava says, while beatrice carefully looks through tanks and t-shirts with a frown, ‘your suit is gorgeous. i would think it would be hot, but what is that — linen?’
‘yes,’ you say, and you don’t miss beatrice’s curious gaze at your slim pants, your loafers, the way your jacket sits perfectly on your shoulders. ‘it’s quite comfortable, even when it’s warm.’
‘i love that for you.’ ava already has a whole armful of cropped tanks and a few patterned overshirts, two pairs of denim shorts, and a pair of jeans the color of wild roses that aleyna had loved when she found them at a market two towns over. ‘bea, i’m gonna go try these on! fashion show!’
beatrice blushes but she nods. ‘stay within budget, please. i don’t think you can get all of what you’ve picked.’
‘yeah, obviously. don’t worry, i’ll find my favorites.’
ava scampers off and you don’t miss that beatrice hasn’t picked up anything to try on; you remember a feeling, back when your hair was too long and your pants were too tight against your hips, when you fought yourself into dresses, and the way she touches the same kind of tank ava had been thrilled to put in her arms reminds you, a little, of yourself.
‘i like to tailor,’ you tell her, and she looks at you carefully as you walk over to a clothing rack with — if you do say so yourself, and also aleyna says so, which is more important — beautiful slacks on it. some are formal, could pair well with a jacket, and some are more casual and comfortable. beatrice follows you, a little reluctantly but with measured, sure steps, solemn, exacting posture in her neat jumpsuit. you pick up a pair of navy slacks you genuinely do love, an exaggerated wide leg, and a grey pair that sits high on the waist. there’s a collarless button down you’d found a month or so ago, and you hand it to her as well. ‘what do you think?’
she takes them almost reverently, and sometimes you forget: you have lived here in the mountains and woken up to your wife and her sleepy grumbling for so many years, now — what it felt like to understand yourself for the first time. ‘they’re …’ she shakes her head, at a loss, it seems. ‘i’d like to try them on, if that’s okay.’
‘of course.’
ava bursts out of the dressing room not soon after beatrice is in the one next to her, and when she notices beatrice isn’t still standing outside, she grins.
‘well, lena, thoughts?’
you’re ultimately and immediately charmed by ava — her grin and genuine delight over a tank and a pair of cutoffs. ‘do you feel happy?’
‘god,’ ava says, ‘so fucking happy! i had — honestly, it’s a long story, but i haven’t gotten to pick out much stuff for myself, at least not in a long time. it’s so fun.’
you smile. ‘i told you so.’
she laughs. ‘but, while bea is in there —‘ she hooks a thumb over her shoulder in the direction of the dressing room — ‘let me look at some knickknacks or something. she’s so serious but i can wear her down, i’m sure of it.’
you’re pretty sure ava could wear anyone down, but you don’t say that. ‘well, we have some records; my wife enjoys curating a collection so it’s fairly eclectic, but there will probably be something you’d like.’
‘sick,’ ava says, in english, and then laughs at herself. she starts looking through the few crates of records you have, pulls out blue by joni mitchell with a sad smile. ‘my mom loved this album.’
‘if you put it at the bottom of your pile of clothes, i’ll make sure it makes it into your bag.’ you wink when ava looks up at you and she smiles.
‘that’s very kind. thank you.’
it’s so sincere, ava immediately calmed and quiet, but then she perks up again when she hears the curtain of the dressing room open and beatrice steps out in the grey slacks and white button up you’d handed her. she’s a little awkward but her shoulders have relaxed and ava is about to drool next to you, you’re pretty sure, based on her complete lack of words; beatrice has to fight for a few seconds to look away from both ava’s thighs and her chest, but she does, eventually.
‘good?’
‘yes.’ beatrice offers you a real smile, not out of politeness but because she means it. ‘i think i need a belt?’
‘bea,’ ava says, rebooting and hurrying over to her, the record set carefully on the counter first. ‘you look so cool! like, whoa. conversely, also hot.’
‘ava.’
‘what?’ ava says, without any hint of an apology. ‘you do!’
you hand beatrice a simple black belt and find a few more button downs for her to try, a pair of loose levi’s, cuffed at the ankles, for lazy saturdays, and hand them to her too. she cradles them to her chest for a moment, and ava notices too.
‘thank you, lena,’ beatrice says. ‘i’ll finish trying everything on and then, if ava’s done, we’ll be out of your hair.’
you hair is perfect, thank you very much, and ava laughs when you primp it. ‘no rush, i’m just glad you liked some of the clothes.’
‘i do,’ beatrice says, then walks back into the dressing room.
‘whew,’ ava whispers. ‘am i right?’
it makes you laugh, her genuine distress. ‘i know the feeling.’
ava smiles. ‘well, bea wants to, like, get groceries, and clean, and go on a run, blah blah. but i’ll be back! i want to hear about your wife.’
‘she’s here most mornings, in fact.’
‘incredible.’ ava fist pumps. ‘i love mornings.’
you charge them far less, when beatrice brings two pairs of slacks, two button ups, and a pair of jeans so neatly folded you’re both a little concerned and a lot impressed, and places them on the counter, along with ava’s pile of tank tops and shorts and pants, and of course the album.
‘ava,’ beatrice says, ‘we don’t need that.’
ava pouts, but before she can argue, you say, ‘don’t worry about it. my wife will be thrilled it’s in good hands.’
beatrice looks torn; sometimes, kindness is difficult. but ava bounces on the balls of her feet and puts both of her hands on one of beatrice’s shoulders, practically begs. ‘fine,’ beatrice says. ‘thank you again, lena.’
‘sure thing,’ you say, accept beatrice’s neatly stored cash from her simple leather wallet, and send them on their way with a few bags. ava’s already trying to convince, you hear as they walk out, beatrice to skip their run and eat gelato by the lake instead. which, honestly, sounds like a good plan for the afternoon; you text aleyna and she comes by half an hour later, leaving the library a bit early, and kisses you in the golden sun.
/
ava comes in a few days later with a bag of pastries and three coffees and a giant smile.
‘hi!’ she says, delighted when she sees you and aleyna both sorting through a new box of books.
‘hello, ava,’ you say, stand and smile. aleyna stands too and steps forward to offer her hand. ‘this is aleyna, my wife.’
‘yes!’ ava puts the coffees down on the counter and then steps forward to shake her hand with enthusiasm. ‘i’m ava, it’s nice to meet you.’
‘i heard you’re a joni mitchell fan,’ aleyna says, with her black curls streaked with silver, her bright smile, her deep accented voice, her brown skin particularly gorgeous against the yellow of her summer slip dress, and you want to laugh at how ava’s eyes widen, how she seems to go a little weak at the knees.
‘i — uh — yes.’ she fumbles with the bag of pastries and then holds them out. ‘these are — thanks for the record. and for bea’s pants.’
you do laugh, then, but you take the bag from ava’s clumsy hands. ’thank you, ava. that’s very thoughtful. and i’m glad beatrice likes her pants.’
‘she does.’ ava sighs. ‘and i love her pants.’
aleyna smiles into her cup of coffee. ‘i heard from hans you both got jobs at the bar?’
‘yeah! it’s fun. i’m kind of terrible at it but i love to learn. bea is, of course, perfect.’ she rolls her eyes. ‘but i get to meet so many people. they’re really nice when i mess up their drinks.’
you take in ava’s tiny shorts and the way she’s tied an overshirt over a bralette, leaving just a sliver of her stomach exposed, and her soft, pretty features, her bright smile. ‘enthusiasm goes a long way.’
ava grins. ‘exactly!’
‘do you want to help us sort through some books?’ aleyna asks.
‘really?’
‘sure.’
ava sits down on the floor, crossed legs and scuffed converse and bright eyes. ‘i love to read; i’d love to see what you have. bea is still asleep; maybe i could surprise her with something.’
you let aleyna and ava go through a few boxes together while you work on a suit in your back workroom, but you can hear ava laughing brightly and eventually she pops her head through the doorway.
‘bea and i are gonna go swimming,’ she says, ‘but i’ll be back soon, i’m sure. aleyna is wonderful, you’re really lucky.’
‘i am,’ you agree. ‘what book did you get?’
it’s tucked under her arm carefully. she smiles. ‘the spring flowers own. i don’t know it yet.’
it’s tender, the way she means that she will know it; she’ll read it with care and meaning. ‘ah, etel adnan. one of aleyna’s favorites.’
‘that’s what she said; i’m excited.’
‘it’s very beautiful.’ you don’t add that it’s sad, that adnan’s bright paintings have brought your wife to tears on more than one occasion.
ava might understand; she is so young and pretty and bright but there’s an ache that’s hard to miss — a displacement, a longing.
‘enjoy the lake, ava. and tell beatrice hello from us.’
ava knocks twice on the doorframe. ‘i will.’
/
it’s a rainy, damp afternoon, nowhere in town terribly busy, when beatrice ducks into your store.
‘apologies,’ she says in form of greeting, looking a little lost without a jacket or umbrella. ‘i made the mistake of not checking the weather this morning.’
‘not a problem at all, beatrice. you’re always welcome here.’ beatrice smiles, gracious. ‘my wife was just making tea, if you’d like some? jasmine green tea.’
‘that sounds wonderful,’ she says.
‘hello!’ aleyna calls from the small back kitchen.
you gesture for beatrice to follow you. there’s a small table and four mis-matched chairs, carefully chosen, and aleyna smiles.
‘aleyna,’ she says, offers a hand.
‘beatrice.’ you know her handshake is firm and serious but she swallows once and you don’t miss the rise of pink on her cheeks. ‘pleasure.’
‘you’re british,’ aleyna says.
‘yes, from london, originally.’
aleyna smiles. ‘finally, someone to enjoy my good tea with.’ aleyna kisses your cheek to soften the upcoming blow: ‘lena is wonderful, and so handsome, but has awful taste in tea. she’s happy with just an over-steeped bag.’
beatrice grimaces around a laugh. ‘ava can’t make tea if her life depended on it. i’ve shown her many times, and she seems to get lost about halfway through.’
you suspect that might be because of beatrice’s careful hands and the serious set of her jaw, but you don’t mention it.
‘ah, ava,’ aleyna says. ‘she’s wonderful.’
‘she is,’ beatrice says. ‘exhausting, annoying… full.’
‘is she enjoying her book?’
‘she is,’ beatrice says, ‘very much. she’s been reading to me at night sometimes, so i’ve been enjoying it too.’
you share as quick a glance with aleyna as you can.
‘adnan is beautiful,’ beatrice continues. ‘you’re lebanese?’
‘yes,’ aleyna says. ‘you know her work?’
‘her paintings, mostly. i would love to read her work in arabic, though. ava’s fluent in a few languages, but all of them romance.’
you laugh — as if this is, somehow, a shortcoming beatrice would love to remedy — as aleyna perks up. ‘you know arabic?’
beatrice nods. ‘not as well as i’d like. i’m better with it spoken than written. but i’d love to improve; it’s beautiful.’
aleyna smiles, then says, in arabic, ‘i would love to speak with you, whenever you want.’
beatrice blushes down into her mug, then looks up. ‘your tea is excellent,’ she responds, a little slow, with an accent much more careful than aleyna’s lyrical and gravely lilt over the words, but perfectly. ‘i do know how to say more than that, also,’ beatrice says, and aleyna laughs, ‘but it really is wonderful.’
‘i appreciate it.’
‘lena.’ beatrice turns all her attention to you. ‘i was wondering if you had a sweater or two? ava continues to take my jacket when it’s cool. i’m sure she’ll enjoy taking my sweater too, but it would be helpful to have more than one.’
‘that would be,’ you grant her and spare her the embarrassment of clearly ducking into your shop because she’d gotten caught in a rainstorm with no jacket which is, apparently, ava’s fault. ‘want to come look at a few?’
‘sure.’ beatrice carefully rinses out her mug in the sink before following. ‘thank you,’ she says to aleyna, in arabic, ‘for the poems, and for the tea.’
‘come around anytime.’
beatrice smiles and follows you out, and you show her a soft green cotton crewneck you’d just gotten in. she holds it to her chest for a moment in the mirror, considering, and you wonder if ava ever gets beatrice to do anything without carefully thinking about it first. ‘this is perfect, thank you.’ she pulls it on immediately, definitely a little cold still, and you’re glad for her: that she has ava; that ava has her — in whatever capacity that is right now, the capacity you hope it’ll be eventually — and for her quiet, persistent kindness.
‘of course, i’m glad you like it.’
beatrice touches one of the suit jackets you’d finished recently, a little reverent. ‘i love a lot of the clothes you have, honestly. i — i’m not sure if i know, yet, how to be who i want to be.’
‘you’re young,’ you say. ‘not as a platitude, i promise.’ she nods. ‘but i didn’t figure out that i loved suits until i was years older than you.’
her shoulders relax a little, at the small out, the gentle understanding. she smiles, indulgent, and meets your eyes. ‘i can’t imagine you were ever anything other than very handsome.’
‘well, that is true.’ she laughs. ‘but impeccably dressed? that’s a journey. and you’re on your own.’
‘was it scary?’
‘terrifying.’
she touches one of the gorgeous opal buttons on the suit.
‘but very, very beautiful too.’
she tucks her hands into her pockets. ‘i’m sorry, i have to get going. ava thinks she can cook but we cannot afford another grease fire.’
‘better avoid that.’
‘how much is the sweater?’
you charge her a few euro; she eyes you suspiciously but doesn’t argue. she calls goodbye to aleyna, says a soft farewell to you, wanders back out — warmer, now — into the rain to make her way home.
/
ava bounces in on a sunny, hot morning, her hair sweaty and now short, cut to her chin, and you laugh when she gives you a high five.
‘your hair looks great,’ aleyna says, and you voice the same. ava preens, which aleyna happily laughs at.
‘bea cut it for me!’ she smiles and then looks at a few bracelets. ‘well, i tried to do it myself, but it’s, like, impossible. i had no idea. but, you live and you learn. bea fixed it, though, and then i convinced her to let me give her highlights! they’re so cute.’
‘how long have you been together?’
‘just a few months,’ ava says, trying on a little cap, and you raise your brows — you’d had a little ongoing wager with aleyna, after you’d run into the two of them at a summer festival in the city center, market lights and food and music; they’d been holding hands and ava had kissed beatrice’s cheek on multiple occasions. ‘but it feels like i’ve known her forever.’
‘young love,’ aleyna says, looks to you fondly. ‘remember when we felt like that.’
ava freezes, still looking at herself in the mirror.
‘i still feel like that, my dear.’
aleyna rolls her eyes fondly and kisses you on the temple. ava is still stock still in the corner, with the cap crooked.
‘i’m bisexual,’ she says, then puts her head in her hands, definitely embarrassed and you just laugh. but one thing about ava: she soldiers on: ‘i just mean, i like girls, and, anyway — is it — hypothetically, if someone wasn’t together with their best friend because of … prior commitments, but you’re pretty sure there’s, like, reciprocal feelings, and those commitments are… a little less strict now, and i know bea is — well — is it — should i kiss her?’
you wait for her to take a few breaths and steady herself. ‘so… you’re not dating?’
ava groans. ‘i wish.’
aleyna owes you twenty euro; you knew they were too jittery to have made that jump. you’ll remind her later. ‘do you think beatrice is ready for that?’ you’d seen the way her hands shook when she bypassed a row of dresses for a pair of men’s pants you’d hemmed for her; the way she blushed around aleyna when they spoke arabic together over tea some afternoons; the way she grinned when you’d handed her your favorite bronkski beat record and said, ‘my parents never let me listen to them, but i always wanted to.’
ava frowns; you think she might legitimately be about to cry. ‘i don’t know.’
‘well, it’s clear to me that you love each other, and you have your whole lives,’ aleyna offers. ‘you’ll sort it out.’
ava does cry then, and you thought that was going to be soothing response, but you wait a beat and then hug ava: small, slight — scared, clearly, of something you don’t understand.
‘you’re right,’ she says, after a few moments, and dries her tears. ‘we’ll — there’s time.’ she fiddles with the cap, runs a hand through her hair and then can’t help but smile, just slightly, as she tucks it behind her ears. ‘we’ll have time.’
‘you will,’ aleyna says, looks to you and you know she means it as a promise, the same one you made to each other years and years ago.
ava sniffles and nods and then laughs. ‘wow, sorry! crying in front of my two favorite lesbians. other than bea, obviously, but — fuck.’ she looks a little panicked but then, ‘oh well, you already knew, right?’
‘yes,’ you say, and aleyna laughs.
‘well, you’re tied for number two on the list, sorry.’
‘an honor.’
ava bows with a flourish and giggles at herself. ‘anyway, now my hair is always in my face, something i did not think through. so i’m gonna get this hat.’
you ring her up and she puts it on backward with a little grin and waves on her way out.
/
‘hello,’ beatrice says, wandering as you’re near closing, without ava in tow. ‘if it’s too late, i’m happy to come back another time.’
‘not at all.’
she smooths her already perfectly neat bun. ‘i was wondering —‘ she takes a deep breath and settles herself, like she’s about to shoot a gun— ‘can i try on a suit?’
‘of course,’ you say calmly, and it works: she nods in thanks and lets the air out of her lungs. you find her a beautiful, light linen suit — a little oversized, still a little feminine, and a pair of loafers you love, a collarless button down to go under the jacket. she takes her time in the dressing room, but when she steps out, her hair out of its bun, swept over her shoulder, her shirt tucked in neatly, she looks in the mirror and bites her bottom lip.
‘this is beautiful.’ it’s wistful, and sad.
‘you look handsome.’
she looks up at the ceiling, then tries to wipe tears of her cheeks as discreetly as possible. ‘you love being who you are.’
‘i do,’ you say. ‘i love being butch; i love that people know who i am, and how i want to be.’ you bring her some elegant cufflinks and she lets you put them on.
‘i love this suit.’
‘you’re more than allowed.’ you squeeze her wrist, just once. ‘it is a great suit.’
she smiles, grateful for the levity, and then lets out a big breath. ‘it’s quite a gift, to be in your own skin.’
‘it is.’
she tells you that she can’t get it — not yet, she says, a promise more to herself — and after she’s changed and meticulously hung the suit back up, she gives you a hug. you put your hand to the back of her head, as protective as you can. you had had an older dyke who had given you your own suit, had taught you careful stitches to tailor a waistband and how to comb your hair back neatly.
‘i do have something for you,’ you say, and hand her a small necklace, an opal drop on a black cord; aleyna had found it at a market in geneva and given it to you for the express purpose of giving it to beatrice. it’s meddling, but you think, in this scenario, maybe a little push is kind.
‘i can’t — this is too generous.’
‘it’s not.’ you put it in a small velvet bag for her. ‘i’m old, and have a beautiful wife. you get to go be yourself. and i think there’s a girl who cares a great deal for you.’
beatrice nods. ‘thank you. ava will love it, i’m sure.’
/
when you get to the shop a few weeks later, there’s a note shoved under the door; you open it and see what you’re sure is beatrice’s careful handwriting:
Dear Lena and Aleyna,
We are deeply sorry to leave without saying a proper goodbye; we’ve had a family emergency and have to get there as quickly as possible. Your generosity — your tea, and books, and music, and the beautiful suit I’ll think of for years to come — has changed my life. Your love is somewhat of a holy thing, I think. Ava also says that she appreciates all the crop tops you had for her because it made flirting more fun (she made me write this). In any case, we’ll miss you greatly; hopefully, we will be back eventually to visit again. I hope my Arabic improves, and Ava would like to make you drinks one day.
All our love, Beatrice + Ava
/
it’s a warm morning in may, spring giving way into the purple blooms of summer, when the door opens and you almost drop your coffee because you hear laughter you could never really forget, and then ava and beatrice walk in. you haven’t seen them in two years, and they both look older, a little tired, but they’re holding hands and ava is just as bright as you remember, a cap still backward on her head, short hair tucked behind her ears, an exuberance in her steps; beatrice’s hair is long and blonde and she smiles with a lightness in her eyes you’d never seen before. aleyna walks out of the back, absolutely delighted.
‘what are you two doing here?’
ava smiles. ‘we were visiting some friends in berlin, then heading to andalusia for a few weeks. we live in los angeles now.’
‘california!’ aleyna grins.
‘right on the beach,’ ava says. ‘but, well, we wanted to stop by, say proper goodbyes and then a new hello!’
beatrice laughs, free and open, and the hand that sneaks its way across the back of ava’s shoulders seems second-nature at this point. ‘i, um, actually — we have a wedding soon.’
‘not ours,’ ava says, but then looks to beatrice, ‘but one day, right.’
beatrice flushes red, but her smile doesn’t falter at all. ‘one day, yes.’ she turns to you and sets her shoulders. ‘could you help me with a suit?’
you give her a hug; you can’t help it, and no one mentions it when she lets ava wipe a few tears when she backs up. ‘it would bring me immense joy to do so.’
and you do — ava sits with aleyna and whistles at everything beatrice tries on, and beatrice puts on a slim navy suit — without a shirt underneath; she had smirked at ava when she walked out — and then looks at herself in the mirror. she meets your eyes in the reflection and nods, just once.
‘that’s the one, then?’
she nods. ‘i think so.’
‘this isn’t fair,’ ava pouts, ‘bea’s gonna look so much hotter than me. she’s gonna upstage the bride and the groom at this point.’
aleyna laughs. ‘terrible problem to have.’
ava rolls her eyes, joyful all the same. ‘you would know.’
aleyna smiles in your direction — a lifetime, a whole lifetime; your heart still swells like it did the first time you ever saw her. ‘i would.’

Dinner
Tumblr media
It was the gentle hand on her shoulder that woke her up. It took Lena a moment to understand where she was, fighting off sleep as she tried to keep her eyes open. Her gaze landed on her beautiful girlfriend, smiling softly at her while mumbling a few words Lena could not yet cohesively hear in her sleepy state.
Kara stood up once she noticed Lena's eyes weren't closing anymore and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "I'm gonna take a quick shower. I left you a glass of water next to the bed, go downstairs when you're ready, food should be done soon."
It was the smell of the cooking from downstairs that woke her up fully. Lena realised she had not eaten all day, she was positively starving. Drinking some water helped wake her up a little bit more, though she really wished for some coffee. It was probably best not to drink anything with caffeine if she wanted any chance to sleep tonight, especially after napping for– two hours? Has it really been that long?
Lena finished her water and went to her suitcase. It was just the two of them in the middle of a sleepy town somewhere in Ireland, but it was their first date, well, along with their first couple retreat – wow, they really did not do anything in order, Lena chuckled to herself – she wanted to look good for Kara. Lena picked up a deep red cashmere turtleneck sweater and a pair of black skinny jeans. She wanted to show more skin, but unfortunately the heating in the living room was not as prominent as she hoped, she did go a bit extra on the make up, using the deep maroon lipstick that Kara seemed to be quite drawn to. Stretching out the last dust off her sleep, she walked down the stairs of the old house.
The smell was the first thing to hit her once she got downstairs. It got harder and harder to contain her hunger with the amazing aromas coming from the pot cooking on the stove. She decided to busy herself with setting the table while waiting for Kara, using the fanciest utensils she could find. While cleaning some of the grocery bags, she spotted some candles lying around, smiling to herself, she placed one in an old candle holder and lit it up. A truly romantic dinner.
Kara walked down the stairs wearing fitted black trousers that really complimented her well built figure that Lena adored, a deep blue shirt tank top tucked in with some loose V neck that let Lena glimpsed at her cleavage and a cream cardigan on top that was somehow just so Kara. Lena bit her lips as her heartbeat got faster. She couldn't believe that this wonderful woman was really into her, loved her. They're going to be a family. They already were to some extent, but the kids would definitely solidify this point.
"You look beautiful," Kara stopped once her eyes laid on Lena. "I mean you're always beautiful, but Rao Lena, you're gorgeous."
"You're not so bad yourself," Lena smiled back and stepped forward to greet Kara with a kiss. Her smile widened when she tasted the mint in Kara’s mouth, it seemed like Kara made sure to really prepare for the date. Oh, how she loved kissing Kara, she could probably do it forever. The heat spreading through her body almost made her forget about her hunger.
"Was that your stomach?" Kara pulled back.
Almost.
"A bit." Lena felt the blush creeping up her neck. Her stomach really had to ruin the moment, didn't it?
"Good thing it's almost ready!" Kara gave her a quick kiss and headed to the kitchen.
Another extra long chapter so you can find the rest here on AO3

Inspiration Saturday ✨
Y’all I just landed myself a new job and I’m so excited yet so nervous about it. And I wrote a scene for the second chance fic, so today is a good day 🥳
Find the idea here 💘
(Snippet and tags below cut)
With a deep sigh, Eddie gets up and joins the rest of the 136, still not sure how to act around them. Because it lingers in his mind that this is just temporary, this is just until he and Buck can work things out. Being separated from the love of his life, from his team, from his family, it’s all just temporary. It has to be.
The routine of polishing the engine is engrained in him, circular motions hypnotizing him as the white numbers plastered on the side reminds him that he isn’t where he belongs.
A civilian walks into the station, dressed in black jeans and a grey hoodie, clearly searching for someone or something. His movements are slow yet determined as he walks up to the nearest firefighter who points him in Eddie’s direction, frowning at the man.
“Edmundo Diaz?” The dark haired stranger questions as he steps close to Eddie, a little too close for comfort and Eddie immediately leans away, military instincts kicking in because he doesn’t know the man or his intentions. It could be a reporter but he also doesn’t trust those in any way, shape or form.
“You found him” Eddie barely even turns his head to look at the stranger, eyes focused on a stubborn piece of dirt stuck on the engine. When the man doesn’t say anything after that, Eddie drops his hands to his sides, a bit defeated and turns to look at the man whose eyes feel like they’re digging into Eddie’s skin.
“You’ve been served” are the only words out of the strangers mouth as he hands Eddie a stack of papers, turning on his heel before Eddie has a chance to respond, almost forced to drop the cloth in his hand.
“I-… What?” Eddie frowns at the papers and the people around him let express their sympathy by letting out an almost collective grumble.
Eddie looks at the first page and his eyes are immediately drawn to the bold and capitalized letters that appear at the top of the paper:
DIVORCE AGREEMENT
His hands begin to tremble as he scans he page again and again, hoping that the contents might magically disappear or change. Disbelief starts to give way for a wave of raw emotion - anger, hurt and betrayal welling up inside of his chest. The realization that Buck has initiated divorce proceedings without even talking to him about it, hit him like a psychical blow and shatters the last bit of hope that he’d been clinging onto.
Soon, his chest starts to tighten with a mixture of rage and despair as he struggles to comprehend the implications of this moment. Tears threaten to fall as he stares at the papers, blurring the lines where his and Buck’s names are clearly written. He wants to crumble every single page, he wants to act like he has never seen them before but the heaviness filling his mind makes it impossible, locking him in place for a moment.
Eddie creates some distance between himself and the crew but Lena follows closely on his heels, not willing to let him out of her sight. He can’t stop her from reading over his shoulder, his arms feeling like they were made of a ton of bricks as he carefully holds the fragile papers in his hands.
“Shit, man. I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were getting divorced” Lena frowns, patting Eddie’s shoulder and gives it a firm squeeze, feeling his body trembling as she does. The rustling of papers in his hand fade in with the busy sounds of the firehouse, allowing him to hide what he’s feeling. Expect he doesn’t do a very good job because Lena continues talking.
“And neither did you, it seems” She says but her voice is far away, Eddie’s ears ringing at the heavy thumping of his heart against his ribs.
A whirlwind of thoughts and emotions sweep through Eddie, leaving him soaked in disbelief and disappointment. He clenches his jaw, his knuckles turning white as he tries to contain the storm brewing inside of him.
But beneath the anger and the hurt, a seed of doubt takes root. An abundance of unanswered questions and unresolved feelings start to emerge from the corners of his mind, refusing to be ignored.
A few deep breaths later, Eddie realize that Lena is still talking to him or at least he thinks so because her lips are moving and she’s making what looks like big angry gestures. “No, I didn’t know that we were getting divorced. I didn’t know that we had given up on fighting” Eddie mumbles, mostly to himself, wanting to curse at the world but refraining from doing so because he already feels out of place.

Maybe it's because I barely slept last night but I'm kind of going insane over DE. This game feels like a love letter to the broken. It feels so distinct from games that try to send a positive message about these groups of people, but they feel like an outsider's perspective. Those games feel superficial, they feel palatable and gentle, easy to agree with the message when all of the examples are soft and made of plastic.
Disco Elysium writes openly about these people, in ways very few (critically acclaimed) games have done before. These broken people you meet, the alcoholics, the depressed people, the traumatized people, the neurodivergent, the disabled, the Unfixables, those not worth "saving". All of them are written with empathy. Cuno and Cunoesse, Evrart, Lena, Jean, and Harry, they're people affected by circumstance, by life. And the world treats them how many many people in real life are treated, but the narration, the "objective" voice (which I'm well aware it is not) that paints the world for you, that one? That one treats them honestly. It doesn't sugar coat and baby you, but you can tell the people behind the scenes who wrote these words had nothing but love in them when they did it.

Dollhouse | Jennifer Jareau

~~~
My oc- Ophelia Valentina (played by Elizabeth Olsen)
DOES NOT RELATE TO THE BOOK (same love interest
~~~
Ophelia watched JJ from across the bar. They all had gone out drinking, Hotch enough Hayley, who was pregnant but still enjoyed the time out.
Some guys were hitting on her as she beat their ass in darts. She smirked with pride at the blonde. She had a few glasses of bourbon, she could handle her alcohol so she wasn’t that tipsy, just enough the get possessive over the blonde liaison.
Her fingers danced around her glass, her metal rings clanging with the glass.
Ophelia ignored the man trying to make conversation with her as JJ was pulled to the dance floor with one of the men. Ophelia snapped.
Ophelia pushed through the dancing crowd as she reached JJ who was dancing with the man. She sealed her way between JJ and the man, the blonde wrapping her arms around Ophelia who smiles at her in return, dancing with the blonde know as her mood shifted.
Her hands fell to Jennifer’s waist, pulling her closer as they shifted in the dance floor. They were crowded as the team couldn’t see them, not even Morgan dancing with a group of girls.
“Hey, stranger.” Jennifer whispers in her ear, so Ophelia could hear her.
“Hello, Jenny.” Ophelia smiles, her hands flowing up and down Jennifer’s waist, feeling her over the blondes shirt.
JJ smiles at her, pulling the girl closer as if they were the only ones there. She looks into Ophelia’s eyes, whom darkened as they locked eyes. JJ noticed it right away, along with the redhead butting her lip.
Ophelia Lena’s closer to her, their face less than inches apart as they invaded each others space.
JJ was the one to take a leap as she connected their lips, pulling Ophelia into her so there was no room left between them.
Ophelia grips JJ waist, JJ let out q sharp gasp but Ophelia swallowed it with her own mouth as she took it as a chance to swipe her tongue in the blondes mouth.
JJ hums, enjoying the sensation, not bothered at where they were.
“As much as I would love to do this here, let’s go.” Ophelia breaks the heated kiss, whispering in Jennifer’s ear.
She realized where they were and she had no problem showing off JJ but she didn’t like the idea of other people looking and gawking at her.
JJ grins up at her, taking her hand as she leads the redhead out, diving between people as she pushed them out the way.
Ophelia led them to her car before pulling out. Her hand rested on JJ thigh, slowly moving up as she fiddled with JJ’s buttons. The blonde could only groan at the teasing, finding it painfully enduring.
Ophelia rushed them to her house, breaking a few speeding laws but she couldn’t wait to tear JJ’s clothes off of her, and the way she was humming in pleasure fogged Ophelia’s mind.
As soon as she pulled up, she got out the car, JJ behind her as Ophelia opened the door, pulling Jennifer inside before closing it and pushing the blonde against it.
She reconnects their lips, closing the gap between them as she presses her body against JJ’s. The blondes hands immediately went to her hair as Ophelia unbuckled her jeans. She slowly started inches them down off of JJ’s body as she swiped her tongue across the blondes lips.
JJ immediately opened her lips, allowing Ophelia to invade her mouth with her own tongue as she felt the redheads actions.
JJ loaned against Ophelia when the redhead started sucking her tongue, just as her jeans dropped, so did Ophelia. She dropped to her knees, pulling JJ underwear down before she greedily attached her lips to the blondes cunt.
JJ figured Ophelia was good in bed, the way she would move her fingers when stressed and at how long and slick they were. It drove JJ insane just staring at them but didn’t expect Ophelia to be THAT good with her mouth.
“Shit!” JJ yelps as Ophelia’s tongue licks her clit, before she tongues it. JJ really don’t expect her to be that good but god she wasn’t complaining. Jennifer’s hands fell down to the redheads hair, tugging on it.
Ophelia hums in delight, only causing JJ force the moan that she was trying to keep in out. Ophelia’s fingers slowly swiped at her entrance, gathering her juice before slowly inserting two of them in.
“Be as loud as you want sweetheart, no one can hear you but me.” Ophelia peeks her head up, gawking at the sight of Jennifer ahead thrown back as she arched off the door.
JJ could only moan as Ophelia begin pumping her fingers, hitting all the right spots within her. It felt damn right amazing.
Ophelia chuckles before she goes back to teasing JJ’s clit with her tongue, her fingers getting harder and deeper with each thrust up in JJ.
“Holy shit!” JJ cried out, not used to the roughness as the men she slept with were never this good. She loved everything Ophelia was giving her, better than she ever imagined. And she day dreamed quite frequently.
Ophelia was determined to pull her first orgasm out of her, pumping her fingers harder as she adds a third, enjoying the loud moan JJ released.
“Oph- Ophiela!” JJ yells out as her orgasm washes over her like a stormy day at the beach. It hit her hard as she didn’t even realize she was close, but Ophelia did. She hums in delight, only giving JJ more pleasure.
Ophelia pulls her head away from JJ, looking up at the blonde after she cleaned her up, her fingers coming to a stop as she pulls out of the blonde. JJ could only moan lightly at the feeling before she’s being rushed into Ophelia’s bedroom.
“Oh we’re aren’t even close to being done, sweetheart.” Ophelia puts, kissing the blonde again. JJ hums as she tastes herself on Ophelia’s tongue, sucking on it as Ophelia sits on the bed, letting Jj sit on top of her.
Ophelia breaks the kiss as she sucks on the blondes neck. Leaving bruises and marks all over her bare chest. “Off.” Ophelia demands as she tugs on Jennifer’s shirt.
JJ quickly takes it off, following her command like a lost puppy. As soon as it’s thrown on the floor, Ophelia gets back to work, sucking on her exposed boob as she nips at it. Enjoying the sinful noises coming out of the blonde on top of her.
Ophelia unclasps Jennifer’s bra with one quick lovely, letting it fall before she throws it somewhere in the room, letting her mouth get to work against as she sucked on a nipple as her hand played with the other.
JJ could only moan, her hands once again in the redheads hair as she pushes the woman into her, loving the pleasure she was getting.
Jennifer was now bare, naked on top of the fully clothed redhead. “Off.” JJ whines, tugging at Ophelia’s shirt. The redhead chuckles as she takes it off before flipping them over.
Jennifer’s hands make their way to Ophelia’s back, scratching it before unclasping her bra also.
“Patient.” Ophelia scolds her, smirking at the whimpering blonde who was desperate.
She flips JJ around, standing on the end of the bed as JJ was on all fours in front of her, she unzips her pants, letting them fall off as she smirks at the plans she had for the blonde.
She grabs the faux cock she had attached to her hips, rubbing the pink tip on JJ entrance as she swiped it up to her clit, gathering her juices as she lives it.
“Ophelia?” JJ questions but Ophelia on pushes her face into the mattress more.
“The only thing I want to hear out of your mouth is you screaming my name and moaning.” Ophelia tells, sending chills down Jennifer’s spine at the authority in her tone.
Ophelia smirked as she took notice of it before slowly pushing the faux cock into her. JJ moans lowly at the feeling of being stretched out slowly. She laid there, taking the pleasure as Ophelia bottoms out.
Ophelia wasn’t cruel, she was gonna give JJ time to adjust before she would rail the girl. JJ was the one in patient as she tries to move herself on the cock. She receives a slap on her ass before Ophelia pulls all the way out before pumping back in, jolting JJ forward.
“Oh my fucking god!” JJ moans, pushing her face into the mattress to hide her moans.
“Let me hear.” Ophelia growls at her, slapping her ass again as she pulls JJ up by her hair as she thrusts into her harshly. The blonde only moans out, taking the harsh thrusts as Ophelia going deeper and deeper.
JJ moans out, overwhelmed with pleasure as Ophelia hits her sweet spot. JJ hands grip the sheets till her knuckles turn white as her arms give out on her.
“The way your moaning makes me want to give you my babies.” Ophelia groans, watching as JJ was helpless for her. She could feel JJ tighten on her faux cock at her words. Not that she wasn’t already right, but it only added more pleasure.
“Would you like that? Full of my babies?” Ophelia asks her, pulling her up against her.
“Yes! Please! Oh hog please!” JJ moans out loudly, her eyes rolling to the back of her head.
“That’s what I thought, all whored out for me, huh?” Ophelia grins, proud of how she had JJ completely helpless for her, submitting to her.
“Yes! Only for you!” JJ moans, as Ophelia pushes her against the mattress once again, pulling her up more so Ophelia could thrust at a deeper angle. It only drove JJ wild as she yells out in pleasure.
“Doing so good, sweetheart.” Ophelia coos at her as JJ only moans at her words.
“Cum for me, be a good girl.” Ophelia tells her, humming as she wraps her hand around JJ waist, pushing the bludgeon from her faux cock.
“Ophelia!” It sent JJ over the edge, screaming the red heads name as she thrusts into her. Ophelia grabs the base of the cock as white juice shoots into JJ, stuffing her full as Ophelia prolonged her orgasm.
JJ’s eyes were rolled to the back of her head as she saw stars, her body numb as she felt out of her body.
“So good.” Ophelia hums, slowing down her thrusts as JJ comes down from her orgasm. Before she could pull out, JJ stop her. “Stay, please.”
How could she deny the pleading blonde?
Ophelai maneuvers them into the bed fully, JJ had her legs wrapped around the redheads waist as she fell soundly asleep. Ophelia in her arms as her faux cock was still stuffed inside her.

Hold on, anon. Someone will get you a explanation (maybe future me) but for now have mine of random ones because I am tired, so sorry if I miss anything/if these aren’t the best explanations
Teddy!verse: Jason’s a single dad after someone close to him dies, leaving behind her son, Teddy. Jason takes in Teddy who’s a fan of Reader. The boy very much chose his mother. Reader is a voice actress who runs her own podcast company. Her ex is a jerk, that used to work with Reader. Jay and Reader end up together and expand the family. She’s very much a mama bear.
rabies!verse: Werewolf Reader, who helps Bruce, triggers something in Jason and he just suddenly gets “baby rabies”
Thirst Trap Thursdays: Ari just write thirst on Thursday sometimes.
BFF!reader: Bruce’s BFF gets pregnant and the dad isn’t really the best so Bruce steps up. Little Dick is also here. Said BFF eventually gives birth to a little baby girl named Emma.
hotmess!Jason: This verse is dead, so don’t request anything from it. Jason and Roy are stupid and upset Reader. That’s all you need to know honestly.
apprentice!reader: Reader is John Constantine’s daughter and he’s forced to take her in and he trains her. She shows up in place of him one day for some magic issue Bruce is having and Jason’s also there and ends up falling in love with her.
Internet friend!reader: Tim and Reader are online friends and are a popular duo honestly. They fall in love at some point and start dating. Don’t remember if that was before or after they met up irl. I think before?
softdom!Diana: What it says on the tin.
sugarbaby!Jason: Jason is Reader’s sugarbaby. He’s a pianist, she has a thing for artists. He gets nice things and so does she, they’re both less lonely, it’s good for both of them.
cowboy!Jason: Reader runs a farm after her dad passed and looks after her three younger sisters. Jason’s supposed to just be laying low after some trouble with Black Mask and passing through. After Reader gets a lift from him and lets him stay in the barn she ends up capturing his heart and vice versa though which makes things so much harder.
AI!reader: Reader dies and Tim tries to recreate her as an AI to cope because he’s Tim. But the AI and Reader are different in some many ways and he’s not very happy about that either.
teacher!Jason: Reader is a single mother and a college student, Jason’s her professor. Sometimes she brings her daughter, Lena to class. Jason doesn’t mind and she’s thankful for that. Jason’s also kind of into Reader.
werewolf!Jason: Reader and Jason both get taken and experimented on. Both of them get turned into werewolves. Reader used to be a kindergarten teacher in Chicago. Also both of them are now connected to each other for werewolf instinct reasons and keeping each other company during capture.
handyman!Jason: Jason leaves behind Gotham and the vigilante lifestyle. Instead fixing up random things in a specific area, including Reader’s Aunt Maggie. Maggie’s tries to set them up and succeeds quickly honestly.
circus!Reader: Dick’s childhood friend that comes to visit occasionally. They grew up in different circuses. They’re currently on a road trip together.
-signed, that one person who’s read most of Ari’s verses completely and occasionally re-reads some
Blessings on your house.
I hope you find the perfect pair of jeans in your exact size. On clearance.

Ok, love how we all have Sam's design figured out.
Fanart and my head worked the others like this:
Alice - mid sized, over 1.75m, punk kind of vibe though she tones it down for the office(not what gwen thinks when she sees her) like, studded bracelets, chains, long black skirts or jeans with fluffy colorfull socks and combat boots, she has a battle vest, she does, maybe more than one since the one she wears for office is just pins and simbols. Microbangs that change colors on the weekly basis, though her roots always show, sometimes braids, sometimes hair let down, shoulder lenght, mullet? I love her with all my heart so maybe i m projecting a little but SHE IS PUNK
Gwen-black hair, bob?bangs?curtain bangs?, kinda jon season1 office vibe, green eyes cuz ofc. this woman is chubby and so annoyed that alice towers over her but dam can she stare down anybody
Colin-you know that guy hotfatguyclub from tiktok? That is him, or ian0key 's version of him
And finally boss lady, Lena just looks like a 45y.o. version of her voice actor cuz damn does she fits so well.
Colin i also picture older than the other 3, around Lena's age, younger that 50, or, he just gives the vibes and one day Alice brings him a birthday cupcake that has 28 written on it and Sam is so confused cuz how is Colin 1 year older than the 2 of them?
Gwen in the youngest in my head at like 25, gal worked her ass out since turning 18 and interning(yes she is filthy rich but HC that she has a real shitty relationahip with her family and fr that - the ball she had to attend made me picture her family as controlling and old money judgy). She has mommy issues, hence the voice fucking we heard when her and lena interacted
We also ship her with Alice cuz how the fuck can you not?! That s a classic

I've got you on my skin
“Why do you have the House Of El coat of arms tattooed on your ribs?”
Or Lena has a tattoo. Kara sees it.
---
“What’s that?”
Lena frowns, sweater halfway over her head. It’s only once she untangles it, pulls her arms free, that she realises her shirt has gotten tangled in the mix and she’s currently standing in front of Kara in nothing but her jeans and a bra.
She’s not a shy person, she’s not exactly worried about the whole shirtless aspect of their current situation, but she is worried about what Kara has just seen, something she’s been actively trying to hide from Kara, something that’s never been an issue until right now, when she’d spilt ice cream down her shirt and had decided to just remove her sweater instead of going to the bathroom to clean up.
“Lena?” Kara whispers, eyes still locked on Lena’s ribs, right under her bra line, the black ink a stark contrast to her pale skin. It’s saying something that Kara hasn’t even glanced at her chest once, Lena knows her best friend is a boobs girl, has caught her staring more than once. But no, Kara’s eyes haven’t moved from the tattoo.
“Is that…?” Kara asks quietly, crossing the small space between them in two slow steps.
Lena holds her breath as Kara reaches out, palm scorching against her bare side as Kara rests her hand against her skin, thumb trailing over where the tattoo sits.
Lena swallows. “I can explain.”
Blue eyes finally look up, locking with Lena’s. Kara is close enough Lena can see the freckles scattered across her cheeks.
“Why do you have the House Of El coat of arms tattooed on your ribs?”
Read the rest on ao3 or under the cut
Kara doesn’t look mad. She looks curious.
“I got it before we met,” Lena starts. She knew this day would come, has been trying to bring it up to Kara for a while now. She just thought she’d be the one to tell Kara, didn’t expect Kara to see it on her own. “It was back when Lex was obsessed with all things Super, back before Supergirl came out. I didn’t know what it meant, I just knew it meant something, it felt important, that it didn’t just stand for ‘Superman’. I decided to get the tattoo because I knew it would drive Lex crazy, that it was something that stood for everything he hated, when all I saw was a symbol of hope.
“And then you stopped that plane from crashing and National City had its own Super and I loved the fact that I had a symbol on my body that stood for such good.” Lena laughs, knows her cheeks are red. “And then things got a little embarrassing when we met, when we became friends. El Mayarah. When you told me what it meant, it felt so right having it on my skin.”
“What about when…” Kara trails off, Lena knows when Kara is talking about, when her lies, and then Lena’s subsequent actions, nearly destroyed them. “You didn’t get it removed?”
“I thought about it,” Lena admits. She’s actually surprised she’s managed to keep the tattoo a secret for this long. “But that felt final, I wasn’t ready to give you up yet.” Lena clears her throat. “I’ve tried on more than one occasion to tell you about it, but I was always scared, I didn’t know how you’d react.” She’d been scared both because it’s embarrassing, and because if Kara told her to remove it, it would prove that Lena wasn’t as important to Kara as she was to her, even though logically Lena know it would have nothing to do with that. “But I should’ve told you, I should’ve asked how you felt about it, whether it was inappropriate or not, and for that, I’m sorry.”
Kara’s hand is still hot against her side, her thumb trailing a maddening line across her ribs. Lena’s taking that as a good sign, even if she doesn’t quite know what it means.
“When I first arrived on Earth, and saw that symbol everywhere, I was so mad. I was upset that the symbol of my family was on t-shirts and lunchboxes, on posters and jewellery. It didn’t feel right, like my family was being disrespected. It reminded me of my family every day and it hurt.”
Lena suddenly feels sick, she’s a part of it. Kara’s never mentioned anything like this before, or else she would’ve gotten the tattoo removed immediately.
“But the longer I was on Earth, the more I looked out for the symbol, it was comforting, seeing it, knowing my family wasn’t forgotten. And while I’m not thrilled at seeing my family’s legacy on underwear. It’s better than not seeing it at all.” Kara laughs. “I actually have a pair of “Super” underwear, courtesy of Alex.”
“So, you’re not upset about the tattoo?” Lena asks. “I can have it removed, or covered, I don’t want to do anything offensive or anything that upsets you.”
Kara lets out a breath, her thumb stills its movements. “Please don’t remove it.” She lets out a breath, and they’re still standing so close that Lena feels the cool air wash over her face. “It makes me happy seeing the symbol on you, it…it feels right. You’re my family now too and I like that this links us. That it has linked us, through everything.”
Lena likes the thought, of them being linked, no matter what.
“So,” Kara takes a step back, her hand dropping from Lena’s side, and Lena is suddenly disappointed. “Please, don’t remove it.”
She’s not sure why she’s disappointed, they’re nothing more than two best friends, standing in Kara’s kitchen, dishing up ice cream together. And sure, Lena is still shirtless, which she should probably fix, but it means nothing. Even if for a moment there, with Kara standing close, eyes locked on hers, it felt like there could be something else between them.
But then that disappointment turns into something else entirely when Kara leans down, soft lips pressing right over the tattoo. Kara lingers, a sigh escaping from her lips. A combination of the warm lips on her skin and Kara’s cool breath makes Lena shiver.
“Shoot, you’re cold,” Kara says pulling away, tugging off her own sweater to hand it to Lena, despite the fact that Lena has a perfectly fine shirt right beside her. And even knowing that fact, Lena takes the offered sweater, purely because it’s Kara’s and will smell like her, and pulls it over her head.
The sweater is tighter than Lena’s one had been and Lena doesn’t miss the way Kara’s eyes find her chest.
At least things are back to normal.
“I like knowing it’s there,” Kara says, reaching across the space between them to lay her hand over Lena’s side again. “El mayarah, you and me, stronger together.”
“El mayarah,” Lena repeats.
They stand like that, eyes locked again, for an extended moment, until Lena breaks it. She has to do something or else she might just throw caution to the wind and lean forward and kiss Kara.
“Come on, we should eat this ice cream before it melts.”
“Wait.” Kara drops the hand from her side but then takes Lena’s own hand instead. “There’s something I’ve been hiding from you too, and when I tell Alex about this, she’ll call me an idiot if I don’t just tell you now.”
“Kara, you don’t-“
“I love you. I mean, of course I love you. But I’m in love with you too, and seeing that tattoo on your skin, Rao, I want that.” Kara says, words falling quickly from her mouth as she starts a full on ramble, Kara Danvers style. “You and me, together? How could I not want that? Ever since I got back from the Phantom Zone, it feels like something has changed between us. We’ve been closer than ever and everything with you feels so undeniably right, like seeing my family insignia tattooed on you. You’re my best friend, you mean so much to me, you’re my home, and I don’t want to pretend you’re not anymore. I want you, in any way you’ll let me have you.”
“Kara,” Lena breathes, tears in her eyes as she surges forward, and then the same mouth that was not long ago pressed against her side, is now pressed against her own, hot and perfect. “I love you, too,” Lena mumbles, the words mostly lost against Kara’s lips but Kara must get the message because she pulls away quickly, eyes wide.
“You love me, too?” Kara asks, blue eyes searching hers, full of so much hope that Lena’s not sure how she missed Kara’s feelings before now.
Lena tucks a stray strand of hair behind Kara’s ear. She lets her hand linger when Kara leans into the touch. “Of course, I do.”
“And you want this?” Kara questions, gesturing between them.
Lena smiles. “I do. Was the kiss not enough? I can show you again if you like?”
Kara grins and Lena’s never seen anything more beautiful in her life. “I definitely would not be opposed to more kissing.”
Lena laughs and this time it’s Kara who kisses her, hands tugging her close, ice cream long forgotten as Lena gets lost in Kara’s kiss.
(Kara is all sad eyes and a stuck out lip when she realises later that the ice cream has melted, but she quickly forgets when Lena tugs off her own sweater again).

random ducktales headcanons in whatever order I think of them
Louie likes math. He acts like he doesn’t because he thinks it’s dumb and nerdy, but he likes math.
In a human AU, Huey would wear cargo pants, track pants, or jeans on occasions. Dewey is a jeans every day type-of-guy, he doesn’t own any pants besides jeans. Louie always wears sweatpants or track pants.
Researching Scrooge really got Webby into American history. She loves learning about Scrooge when he was in America. Some of her favorite periods to learn about; The Gold Rush, the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, primarily the early Gilded Age.
As Dewey gets older, he gets a passion for writing. His overactive imagination is a tool for this. He also uses inspiration from his childhood fantasies and incorporates them into his stories. For example, he makes references only he would get about Dewey High in his writing. He does primarily action/adventure and realistic fiction.
Louie gets easily embarrassed about his hobbies. He starts by doing them nonchalantly, but when he realizes people are noticing, he starts doing them in secret.
Huey does not get art, primarily poetry, plays, or anything written. It just goes right over his head. He hates English class and Shakespeare.
When Lena likes something, she draws it a lot. Whether it be her magic, people, friendship bracelets, or even just a little trinket she found, she’ll draw it. These drawings go into her most beloved sketchbooks. But she also has the Sketchbook of No Return, in which she draws things she hates as a way of getting her emotions out. Sometimes she even blacks out the page after drawing it.
Violet introduces Webby to Ancient Civilizations. They study early history together, from Mesopotamia to India to Greece.
Huey and Violet get competitive when they do Junior Woodchuck things, but they get along really well otherwise. They both have passions for science and nature.
Boyd and Huey are best friends, and hang out all the time. Despite being a robot, like all Gearloose’s inventions Boyd feels human emotions. Huey finds this extremely fascinating. Louie likes to tease Huey about being friends with a robot, but Louie doesn’t really have many friends himself so he can’t say much.
Gosalyn feels awkward at the huge sleepovers the Duck and Vanderquack family are always hosting. Her only friend at them is Dewey, while everyone else knows each other. Even Boyd knows Lena and Violet. Plus, Gosalyn doesn’t even know the rest of the Duck boys. But, eventually she warms up to everyone after being super competitive in games and sort of cold as a defense mechanism.
Lena and Violet dye their hair together sometimes.
Panchito and José eventually become known as Uncle Panchito and Uncle José.
Huey, being terrified of Dewey’s carelessness, finds Louie to be his Comfort Sibling™
Louie is kind-of into knitting???
Fethry, Gladstone, Donald, and Della always came to Scrooges for the Holidays. Every Holiday. Winter and Spring break too. They all got pretty close. Plus, adventuring was not Donald and Della exclusive.
Donald is the only one who can tell the triplets apart when they do their hair the same way and wear the same clothes.
One time Louie stole Webby's skirt because he wanted to know what it was like to wear one. He's also done this with Scrooge's clothes.
Dewey cannot cook for the life of him, but Huey is a master chef. Huey also makes the best soup-and-salad combos. Louie is in the middle ground, but for some reason finds baking much easier.
One time Della, Donald, Fethry and Gladstone played War together, but on teams. Donald and Gladstone wanted to see whose luck would outweigh the others, so they teamed up. The game was cut short because the table got knocked over and the cards fell through the floorboards. They looked for the cards but couldn’t find them.
May loves drawing and June loves reading, and they like to write books together. Daisy gives May fashion tips for her characters, and reads the books June recommends.
Webby likes to photobomb Dewey's selfies.
Gosalyn and Louie scam people together.
Webby and Lena have a playlist of both their favorite songs. They sing to all of them at their one-on-one sleepovers.
Lena and Violet both like heavy metal.
Gosalyn was extremely girly as a child.
Lena reminds Scrooge of Donald when he was younger.
Drake adopted Gosalyn (obviously).
Lena and Huey lowkey have beef.
Dewey was actually laid first.
One time Dewey accidentally called Storkules his Uncle Storkules. The man was never happier.
Panchito became a sky pirate once but Don Karnage booted him.
Boyd really likes listening to Huey talk about his passions, which is good since Huey goes on and on about them. Donald thinks it's so sweet that Huey has such a good friend. Boyd is Donald's favorite of all of the boys' friends.
Louie's khopesh is his favorite treasure ever.
Della was Donald's best man at his and Daisy's wedding. It didn't matter that she wasn't a man.
Launchpad and Drake nerd out together for at least three hours a week.
Drake cannot handle affection. He gets all awkward when someone tells him they love him or when someone hugs him.
When Louie isn't around, Boyd is the number two comfort buddy for Huey.
Violet and Boyd get along really well, and Huey gets jealous of Violet. But they primarily hang out in JW meetings so it isn't crazy.

Lol, I was thinking about poor Sadie stuck at Catco too when I saw that other ask! I mean--I think Lena said it best, "Catco? It's not a publication known for its hard hitting journalism. It's more like, high waisted jeans, yes or no?" She would absolutely hate it there! But, hey, you know what? If she took over as Editor in Chief she could definitely turn the whole thing around--if she hasn't burned the place down already
dude that's the exact quote from lena I was thinking of!!
honestly, catco as a concept never made much sense to me, I could never figure out what it was they did exactly. because sometimes they were doing puff pieces, and pumping out things with no substance. but other times they presented themselves as a legitimate news source, similar to the Daily Planet or even like, the New York Times.
that show ended like 3 years ago and I still have no clue what was going on at catco (or l corp, for that matter)
but YES sadie 100% could and i think she'd love doing it. i also think she'd be a great boss and great editor. she'd be able to make catco something really respectable and reliable, rather than just a magazine. and especially after having worked for snapper and cat, I imagine everyone there would love having her in charge lol
