Alright, February 2nd, so it's time to draw Zonda again.

When I was putting this one together, I realized that there's no official art showing the right (Zonda's right) side of male Zonda's face. All art depicts Zonda with the left side of Zonda's face facing toward the viewer. It's because of this that I tend to forget Zonda's got like, some swooshes of hair that drop down on the right side of his face.

Also, very off-topic, but I drew Kadabra earlier in January. Twitter flagged it for sensitive material, probably because the spoon's position in that piece looks vaguely phallic. Watch as this drawing of Zonda receives no such flag. The Crystal Of Love is invulnerable to such attacks.

Ari, you mentioned a while back that you’re translating a poem bc nobody has yet. Would you be willing to share what poem it is? Like, here on tumblr? If not that’s totally okay! It was something about ants from your spanish undergrad

for sure! i'm translating two poems by alfonsina storni (early 20th century argentinian poet, mainly a modernista poet but the two poems i'm translating are definite departures from that style, mostly because i think i might die if i try to translate a sonnet) for a translation workshop i'm currently in

i'm working on "Llegada" ("Arrival") which i first read in undergrad (and has this image of an "hormiguero humano" or "human ant's nest" that has stuck with me since then) and "Juventud" ("Youth") which i think was written around the same time, although it's hard to tell because neither poem was ever published as part of a collection and the anthology i'm using doesn't give publication dates (which should exist in theory, as i believe both of these poems were published in La Nación at some point, but i haven't gotten very far into doing archival research there)

they're both really fascinating and lovely poems though! lots of blood and bugs, which i'm personally a big fan of. i'll post the original poems in spanish below the cut, in case i have any spanish-speaking followers who'd be interested in reading!

Llegada

Buenos Aires, dinoterio de costillas de acero ensancha el pecho, se arquea, y abre, en ondas largas y agudas, su mugido de salvaje tristeza, de horrorosa alegría. Los niños lloran en sus camitas. Los viejos, larvas entumecidas en sus estuches de lana, envuelven la cabeza en sus capuchones.

Pero los jóvenes saltan como pelotas de goma a la calle, y sus músculos elásticos miden las veredas a grandes pasos. Me asomo a una torre: grandes insectos negros zumban misteriosamente sobre los rectángulos.

A la orilla del Plata la rotura de un hormiguero humano ha inundado las avenidas: El mar negro se agita y las palabras anunciadoras con movimientos de onda van a morir a las playas libres del aire.

Amazing

Artwork - award wining Ai Art is an amazing piece made by ai and its creator Jason Allen which i found amazing were machines and humans create an 'award-winning piece of art'

Interior - Mashhad, Iran __ Shrine of Imam Reza is amazing and beautiful were its coved in crystals and has this Ottman interior and exterior.

Landscape - Vestrahorn: Stokksnes peninsula, Iceland is an amazing place that id love to visit especially having the opportunity seeing the amazing northern lights around you

3D Billboard-Display in New York times square is an amazing piece of tech that you won't ever get bored of watching it, is about 100 meters long and stands the equivalent of eight stories tall. 

Architecture - SANTIAGO BERNABÉU NEW STADIUM is an amaxing stadium for soccer in Spain that is having a 360-degree score board around the stadium were it will host more spectators at a max number of 82,000.

Design product - Pagani, an amazing V12 viechle manufactured by Mercedes which it is mostly handmade making it a special and expensive piece of machine were its latest Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta sits at $17.6 million.

Design product - The iPhone, introduced by Apple in 2007, revolutionized the smartphone industry where it can be considered a and recognized as an amazing product.

Architecture - The Burj Khalifa an extraordinary architectural feat, successfully achieving the adjective "amazing." As the tallest building in the world, it's sheer height and modern design stand as an engineering novelty.

Space Battle Lunchtime vol 1 & 2

This review is for fan entertainment, I'm not being paid.

I love stories that have to do with cooking. I came across this comic series in my local comic shop and this stuck out like a sore thumb. It was gorgeous.

This is a story that takes place on a reality TV show…IN SPACE!!!!!! (Sorry I thought it was appropriate)

Our lovely main character is named Peony, she works at her local bakery making delicious pastries. A frog creature, named Zonda, came into the bakery one day to order coffee, and takes an interest in Peony’s desserts that she was putting on display, only to be pulled away by a phone call, a contestant has gone missing and show time is soon. Thinking on her feet, Zonda mentions Peony and tells her producer that she will see if Peony will be the new chef. Of course, Peony says yes.

Now the location of the TV show is not anywhere near Peony, no its in…. SPACE!!! (Sorry Hehe) Needless to say, Peony is shocked, but time is short, and Zonda needs to get Peony ready. Now during the short time before the show starts up Peony meets several contestants and a friendly cameraman.

The first round starts up and each contestant is given an ingredient to make a dish from (pretty standard challenge) however drama issue between some of the space chefs, Peony has her own problems of trying to figure out her ingredient is, she thinks its citrus based and tries to figure out the oven.

End of the first round and Peony has people looking at her in a more serious way now. However, that soon passes, and Zonda invites both Peony and Aris (the cameraman) to dinner. Peony sees on the TV a rival show where it’s more blood thirsty than their family friendly show, the mysterious Neptunia warns Peony to watch her back during the contest.

The next day, a new challenge approaches the contestants on Spacebattle; they have to make something that has no flavor and its base form is unappealing but it’s very healthy, into something the judges want to eat. (Health food challenge!!)

Before the judging happens, Neptunia and Peony bring their dishes up to the stand, where Peony accidentally bumps into Neptunia almost costing one of Neptunia’s portions of her dish, but Peony comes in the last second and rescues it.

The next challenge is that the contestants work in teams of two to make a dish that includes both chef styles of cooking, the winning team goes on to the final round, while the losers are sent home. Neptunia and Peony are paired together, and they get off to a rocky start till Peony stands up to Neptunia and brings her down to level. Neptunia and Peony win, and Peony invites Neptunia out on a date.

The second half of the story has Peony being kidnapped and shipped of to the rival show, where there is a high chance where she wasn’t going to out alive. The worst part is Peony was getting ready for the date when she got kidnapped!!!!!

Now I don’t want to spoil the ending of this arc because I was upset (the good kind) about how it ended, but everyone got what deserved in the end. Neptunia and Peony are girlfriends now! (*squeal*)

This story had so many interesting characters and the theme of the story was amazing, I kept finding myself in need of a snack when looking at some of the illustrations of food that was in this book.

If you are looking for a quirky food base romance, I recommend this comic to you.

BNHA X CARS

So, this is basically BNHA Street racer AU. But to be more precise I’m picking the cars for the characters from BNHA. Because cars have characteristic, it has personality and it describes you as a person. Not just based from the body but the engines and the car as whole. So, this is my pick of cars for the character of BNHA. If you have different opinion let me know, I would love to hear all of your thoughts and if you use my list you can go ahead and use it (But please do tell me, because hearing it will be my vindication and that would make me really happy).

Part 1 For the boys

I’m going to divide it into 2 cars. One is for daily drive/Sports car and the other is The Supercar. The Sports car will describe them as characters individuals. While the Supercar will describe their full potentials.

Midoriya Izuku:

Midoriya Izuku, The protagonist of the Anime. He is too good of a boy to mess around street Racing. The Color for his car is obviously Green, in that case I Recommend Him.

Sport car/ Daily Drive:

The Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX.

To be more specific. It is Brian’s First car In the Fast and the furious franchise (R.I.P Paul Walker). This car is one of the Tuners favorite car to modify. It is run by 4G63 Engine, it is the same Engine that run an EVO F*CKING LANCER which is one of the finest cars that has been made on earth (Minus the Turbo). So it plays well with the whole inheritance thing with All Might.

Supercar:

For the supercar, I would Recommend McLaren 675LT

This car Look Great In green. The whole characteristic of this car reminds me of Midoriya. This car shown how it can blend to the society, how it was able to move fast and aggressively while at the same time maintaining Elegance. This car looked slim, but its performance is something else 3.8 L V8 Twin Turbo Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) Gives the ability for the driver to drive like a maniac. The car produces more or less 675 Horsepower (Just like its name) and can go to 0-100 Km in 2.9 Seconds and a top speed with 330 Km/h (205 Mph).

  Bakugo Katsuki:

For Bakugo, His car has to be loud and Fast! He needs a car that’s intimidating. For the color I’m Thinking Red, Yellow or Black. But since the car need to look Antagonizing, I’m going with black. So, the car that I propose.

Sport Car/ Daily Drive:

Dodge Challenger SRT Hell Cat 2015

This car is a 6.2L Hemi V8 Supercharged. The roars in this car is nothing short. This car is for sure is Intimidating. The roar of the engine is equivalent to Bakugo’s Roar of explosive anger. I was considering the newer one like the SRT Redeye Hellcat or even The Demon. But the demons is more of the inner demon screaming trying to get out. It needed a Rumbling sound of the V8, The insane roar that is deafening.

Supercar:

For the Supercar, it is very difficult. I can choose Hyper cars but they just felt a bit too well mannered compared to Bakugo. But I’ve given a lot of thought and the only car that fits is This

Pagani Zonda R

This car is basically an f1 with a two-seater and a roof. This bad boy is a track only car. So, it is “Street Illegal!!” But that won’t stop Bakugo for using this beauty. This car on high rev speaks will be all the explanation needed on the reason why I chose this car. A car with 700 BHP and only weight 1,070 Kg (In comparison Ford focus weight 1,471 Kg) Which is like a feather.

 Todoroki Shoto:

For Todoroki His car has to be cool, matured and Luxurious but also High performance. I’m a bit mixed up with the colors Whether I should make it blue or white or red. But since I cant decide I leave it in the ‘Grey’ area. Get it? Ill just get on with it.

Sport Car/ Daily Drive:

Aston Martin DB11

Aston Martin is well known on it’s Luxury and History. Which fits Todoroki’s Prince aura/Characteristics. The performance is also nothing short, Aston Martin is also well known to make a brilliant Engine for racing. A twin turbocharged V12 Produce 600 BHP with a top speed 201Km/h (125Mph).

Supercar

For the Super car, I think Lamborghini Huracan Performante.

It is a naturally aspirated 5.2L V10 Engine AWD. This car has a fierce fiery engine on its car but still has that cool matured Body. And the ALA (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva) Is brilliant. It is an active Aerodynamic system that allows the car to go faster.

 Tenya Iida:

Sport Car/ Daily Drive:

Is the Brabus 800 GT 63s

This car is perfect fot Iida, It has a look in which my friend quote “Sophisticated Look”. And Mind you this car is probably The Fastest Car! For the sport/daily drive Car compare than anyone else in the list. This car packs a crazy 800 BHP and that’s says it all

Supercar:                    

Bugatti Veyron SS

The fastest Car In the world! In 2010. The specific look that I would like to go is Drift From Transformer: Age Of Extinction. That Blue Lining is perfect for Iida. For some people engines might be boring, But this car have the power of 1200 Horses in it

 Kirishima Eijiro

Sport Car/ Daily Drive:

The car that this Manly man need to go with is the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500.

The Engine has a named called the “Predator” V8 Engine. 750 BHP is nothing short and the roar from within is on par with Bakugo’s SRT Hellcat.

Supercar:                    

I was having second thought of choosing this car. But whenever I think of Kirishima in a car, This car always pops into my head

Lamborghini Adventador SV. This car Looked manly and menacing. Why I thought about this car, is that it associated it self with a bull in which Kirishima and this car can relate to. A loud V12 Engine roars loud and deep in a intimidating voice and its perfect.

 Okay that’s all I can give for this part. Because of limitation I cant post it all. But there will be more to come not just for the students but many more.
