Haruka Nanase

Do you have a dream vacation you want to fulfill? Even if it's a pipe dream, if you had the resources, where is this dream destination?

Such a hard question tho!! Because as someone who has literally never had the chance to travel anywhere overseas there's so many places where I'd like to go...

Honestly I can't name a specific location because I haven't look into any places... But I just want somewhere where there's a lot of pretty scenery to paint and a shit ton of stores to blow all my money at because I definitely want to go home with a lot of things I can never get here locally, even online. Somewhere with a lot of art supply stores with interesting media, craft stores, excellent stationery... I guess somewhere in Japan?

Perhaps the dream is to be able to take a few days in two places in Japan--Okinawa (for the aquarium and the beaches) and Tokyo (the shopping >.<)? I think my biggest issue is that I'll likely be alone when I go (because I don't want to have to give a shit about my company shjgksfd I get too worried about keeping track of people and I really wanna be able to take my time when I go places) so I'd have to be prepared when it comes to the language barrier. Kinda feel like Korea comes as a close second? Going between Seoul and Busan, and I'd actually be able to get by when it comes to the language... But idk, something about being into kpop has ironically turned me off to spending time there for fun >.>

"What do you mean you don't understand? They are interesting."

"You do see that no one is here because it scares kids." ___ she stated. "I'm going to the seal show."

"You have fun. I'm going to go to the jellyfish and then maybe the sharks." You hummed staring at the tank making faces at the eels.

Your quirk was talking to sea life and they could understand you. It was an interesting quirk and you rather enjoyed it.

You didn’t exactly hate people, you and others just didn’t get along. Everyone was always raving about becoming a hero. Those dreams of being a hero sounded so mundane in this day in age, everyone wants to be a hero with their flashy quirk.

You liked being you. You were always judged for having a boring quirk and it's not being showy. You worked at a library and it was relaxing. Not a lot of people came in. You got to read about fish. The fish were interesting. Most of them were observant and could spot people's weaknesses and see their little problems.

"So guys what's with you?" You said looking around the tank looking at the coral.

"Toga shut the fuck up," Dabi said pushing Toga off of him.

"But I'm bored. I wanna do something funnnnn! Like, kill someone."

"No. we need to keep crime around here low profile. Can't have heroes finding us again."

"Well we are new to the area let's go somewhere." She whined again.

"I'm not your older brother. I already did that shit."

"If you shut up I will take you to the aquarium. And you can run wild all you want." Shigaraki said to the impatient teen. He just wanted some peace. If he took her out she can do whatever the hell she wanted.

"Shigaraki I don't think that would be-" Kurogiri started.

"And you get to come too Kurogiri."

"Keep watch of her," Tomura instructed Dabi and Kurogiri.

He walked around the aquarium with his head down. For the most part, because the area was speedy the aquarium was empty except for today which was a free school day. The aquarium was on the smaller side when it came to others just had the simple fish inside and a seal attraction outside.

Tomura was able to find himself a quiet spot by the bigger tanks fill with eels and big fish. They didn’t have any flashy colors or beautiful scales. They looked plain. To Tomura it made sense why no kids were here they were easily taken up with colors.

It was quiet for a moment before he heard two women talking to each other. One deciding to stay and the other one walking away after saying some rude things to her.

Tomura noticed that you were looking around the tank and talking to them. "So guys what's with you?" She said.

He noticed for rather too long getting trapped in your voice. Your eyes met with his, she stared for about a minute.

He was sure he made you uncomfortable by your response, ”Uh hi.” Your small hand did a simple wave towards him, ”I was just...using my quirk."

By now Tomura didn’t exactly look straight at you instead of looking at the reflection in the glass.

"Fine by me. Please enjoy yourself." He said.

"Is this your first time here?" You pressed. Normally it would bother him but your voice was so angelic.

"Yeah just moved here. Friends pushed me out for the day. I managed to get away." The stranger huffed out.

You walked around the tank and sat down next to him. "So would you like to know about the fish?" You asked. "I come here every week. And my quirk lets me talk to them."

"Hm. That's an interesting quirk. Lucky."

"What to know what they think about you?" You asked again. "They know who you are.”

He winced at your comment. 'Shit. Now I'm screwed.'

"I won't say anything. You don't scare me. No matter how they described you on the news. You seem level-headed.” It was true in your eyes, he had a point All Might shouldn’t be the goal set of a hero. There are many versions of heroes but they all follow in All Might’s footsteps.  

"Whatever," He said. Shigaraki felt his heart beating a little faster.

"If you ever are looking for someplace where it is quiet might I suggest a library not far from here. Ask for ____."

You got up walked away from the tank you had to help your friend with her daycare.

"What's got handyman in a twist?" Dabi asked Kurogiri.

"None of your fucking business Chard-Ass." He couldn't get you out of his head.

"Whatever fuck face." He started to walk away.

"Wait...what would you say to someone when they say they aren't afraid of you?"

"Tell the bitch to get either get on her knees or she is crazy and get away."

"You are really a pig Dabi." Twice said. “But that does sound fun.”

"Why are you asking boss man?" Toga asked.

"Some girl said she wasn't scared of me."

"She clearly doesn't have standards."

"She was gorgeous," He said as he took another shot. "She told me where she worked. We barely talked."

"So some girl who you don't know and she doesn't really know you are, is interested in you? And she is hot." Dabi grunted. "She might be psycho. Just the chick for you Tomura."

"That's sooo cute Boss." Toga shouted. "Ask her out."

"Are you crazy! I don't-"

"Fucker doesn't know-how. Ha."

"Fuck you Dabi."

"Trust me when I say this Tomura you aren't my type."

"Sorry I don't think it would be a good idea for me right now. Trying to take down the symbol of peace."

"I'm all for screwing the symbol of peace Hands but if you fuck her would you be less of an ass." Tomura picked up his glass threw it at Dabi. "Touchy touchy."

"I shouldn't have said anything." He wandered back to his room to sleep or play games.

"Come on fuck her!” Dabi shouted from the bar.

Here you were enjoying a book in the empty library then there was a warp hole in the middle of the library. "Hey, fucker?"

"I'm here to see ____." You knew the man in front of you.

"Shigaraki?"

"I'm here to take you on a date."

"Really! Alright!" You hopped up to your seat at the counter, taking his arm, and went through the warp gate.

On the other side, you were in the alleyway of Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium.

You smiled at him. To be honest you thought Shigaraki was cute and hot. You had read up on him and waited for him. You knew he just needed time.

"This is perfect. I've always wanted to go here but never got the chance. We need to go straight to the whale sharks exhibit." You took his arm and dragged him along with you.

He went from tank to tank with you watching you smile happily, he smirked to himself. You were like a child in a candy store. He told me little things about himself. He told his name. Tenko.

"Come on ____. Let's go get some food and then the gift shop." He whispered in your ear.

"Tenko, you don't have to buy me anything."

He smiled again. The fluorescent water light reflected on his face beautifully. "But I want to. I want you to remember our first date."

"Hm. I assume there are going to be more?” You eyed him.

"Better fucking believe it. Because guess what?"

"What?" You asked teasingly.

"You are mine. And I'm yours. You know you are very hard to forget."

"Most people think the opposite of that."

I’m surprise that you Japanese is good. I read the manga ‘One Piece’ to study Japanese. Recently, the story development has become like this, I’ve become so addicted to watch videos predict the foreshadowing (laughs). ‘Dragon Ball’ is also the manga of my life. The first anime I watched was ‘Dragon Ball’. The characters sacrificing themselves in order to save the earth was cool. I like the transformation and action scenes where they fight loudly.

Seeing the first photobook that you’ve released this time, I felt a narrative as if it’s like a ‘Roman holiday’ where a man and a woman meet to enjoy a day. I can feel a variety of expressions and naturality, my heart skipped a beat. The concept is about Taemin running away from busy life (laughs). Last year I’ve spent 3 months on hall tour and arena performances throughout Japan, the 29th performance was after Kobe. I strongly hoped “I wanna go to Okinawa”. The day before shooting, I went scuba diving and went to Churami Aquarium. I ate a lot of food and especially the ‘Agu Pork’ ws delicious. It was vacation-like moment. This photobook contain the moment where I have fun. 

Because it was Okinawa, did you get it as it was? This is my 2nd time in Okinawa since the MV shoot of SHINee’s 8th single ‘Boys Meet U’ in 2013. I remember the pleasant air that I felt at that moment, and I thought if Okinawa felt that good , I could express my present from most straightforwardly. Of course there is this cool look for the shooting but the picture of wearing red and black border clothes on the beach and playing with the water is my natural self. A piece of figure walking at night near A&W(fast food restaurant), when I got some time I include the usual image to walk at night while listening to music.

I felt a relationship of trust wit the photgrapher from the entire photobook, what kind of meeting did you have with Omi-san, the photographer? It was the 2nd time Omi-san was shooting but I think I’ve become professional in being relaxed. There was no indication of pose, they called my name and I took a moment to turn around. When talking in a friendly atmosphere, he cut out my pleasant feelings.

Are there any photos taken with your ideas? Also, were you able to rediscover yourself trough the expression method in the photo collection? The location in Okinawa is my idea (laughs). After talking with the stylist, we decide on the coordination and accessories together. As for rediscovering...I don’t look good in shorts(laughs). 

In the photobook, parts of your body are beautifully expressed. I would like you to tell us your favorite parts and why... It’s an embarrassing question (laughs). From the back to the shoulders, I was praised by the trainer for good shape of the muscles. Because it got a beautiful form just by the little training. 

It seems that 20,000 photos have been taken, please tell us which photo is more like yourself, your favorite one. I like this one (A photo with a font face, but top with a giant background) because the shot was good with a nice face. I asked for this photo to be included in the collection. I like the impression of the eyes because there aren’t many photos that have eyes (looking at the camera) in general. If you look now, the ones where I’m playing at the beach. The moments I’m laughing, I’m like that. Sometimes when I look at old family photos, there are many photos (of myself) with such a face. It’s said o be your pure self, this is what you look like when you do what you enjoy, like swimming in the sea, doing activities in the sea. I have been curious about the sea creature since long time ago. It’s also my hobby to watch such videos on YouTube, because the world I don’t know about is spreading in the sea. Recently I’ve start to take lessons to get scuba diving qualification. This time in Okinawa was the second time but I think seeing a shrimp was the funniest. The shrimp moves really fast (laughs) As I learned the importance of refreshment (being relaxed) at this Okinawa location, I would like to go on a trip for a sort while. 

Last year you released your first solo full album and did a long tour of 32 performances in 8 venues across Japan in 3 months. Do you have any habits to keep in mind s a solo artist? First of all, physical fitness management. Being active for more than 10 years, I learned from experience that it’ important to sleep well enough to recover from sore shoulders and muscles after dancing for a long time. Since I have a weak thighs, I get pain on my knees. I’m also working hard on training. to support the dance moves, Humanly, I may not have the best conditions everyday (laughs) But I take carbohydrates when my condition drops down, when I don’t feel emotionally good, I talk to the staff so it becomes possible to take control early. Also I can’t get power without caffeine. I like Iced Americano and always drink it when I work. But from this year I also drink Black hot coffee on cold days. I had 3 cups yesterday and 1 cup today (laughs). 

There is a great effort behind the evolution of power live performances. During last year’s solo tour you’ve said that our personality changed a little. Previously I was the type that couldn’t stand making a mistake and would be always worried about it on stage. Even now I still can’t forget about this perfectionism but failure is a moment that can been seen today, the fans might be delighted. I went to other artist’s live and I felt that the mistakes were human and the performance was more fun. So now I’m positive, this is also live and I can replace (my thoughts) earlier. 

SHINee members and fans say that the performances shine well with light. Please tell us the influence you’ve received from the members. The fans are the white light and the SHINee members are the ones who put color in this light. I also received many colors from each member, it’s relationship where the members influence each other. I used to be introverted, and influenced by the members, I became able to talk to people around me and my youngest self was helped in many ways. That’s how I was completed, this human being called TAEMIN. 

Watching your performance, the introverted personality is a surprise. If you are not good communicating with people and you can’t be confident in yourself, do you have an advise for people who can’t take one step further? I’m not a great person to give advise but I think it’s okay to be embarrassed to communicate with people. It’s an honest feeling. You don’t have to pretend to be like you’re fine on purpose. Of Course, you need some control of you emotions but I think you can show yourself more. It may be difficult, but if you start to be aware of the surroundings, you won’t know what you really wanna do. I’m like that too. But everyone should really know their own moments of happiness. I wanna tell them to think little about pride and success, imagine the fun and not to care about their surroundings. The SHINee members

Onew an Key have enlisted, and also Minho, who joined to serve in military service two days before this interview happened. it seems that you went to see him and send him off, what kind of words did you exchange with Minho? We support each other with words like “While there is no activity on SHINee, Taemin will work hard. I believe you”. The leader Onew was the 1st to join in the military and the loneliness felt stronger, but surprisingly I felt less anxious to see Onew’s figure doing well. Now, with confidence in the members rather than worries, not that everyone is absent I think first of all, to fans who are next to us. So now I take care of my health and while SHINee members are not here I will do my best to make me and SHINee know not more people for the later group activities of SHINee.
