i actually don't play disney magic kingdoms myself, it's just not really my type of game, but i've seen some gameplay of it and read a lot of the little dialogue from it online and it's always seemed really charming and cute! so it really is too bad we might never get to see tarzan characters added to it. i do play disney dreamlight valley on the switch, which is sort of a life sim game like animal crossing but with disney/pixar characters all living together, and a lot more of a story to it with quests you get to do for everyone. it's a lot newer and doesn't have nearly as many characters in it, but a recent update added a jungle biome that would've been perfect for tarzan and jane. i know they'll probably never be added, but if they were then they could live together in the treehouse and we could see how tarzan would feel about living in the valley among so many other humans! there would be so many new things that jane could teach him about.
i recently started collecting lorcana cards after seeing one of rapunzel wearing a green dress, which i found really cool because that was what she had in so much of her concept art! i was also pretty excited to be able to get cards from the emperor's new groove, the great mouse detective, treasure planet, and hercules. i bet they could make some beautiful cards for tarzan... but yeah, that copyright issue is incredibly frustrating. some of my favorite movies may be a bit overlooked or underrepresented by disney, but at least they don't have the legal problem that tarzan has. i guess with once upon a studio they must've wanted to really go all out to make sure every single walt disney animation studios feature could be included! i'm grateful they did, because it would've been a huge shame to see tarzan not even allowed into the special 100th anniversary short. the new movie "wish" also has a tribute to past WDAS films during the credits, where gold-colored drawings of characters from each movie appeared across the screen in chronological order. strangely they actually left out a handful of movies including the black cauldron, but they did include tarzan!
also, i'm sure you already knew about this haha, but just the other day i came across an article from a few years ago where several of the people who worked on tarzan were interviewed and talked about the production. and i learned for the first time that it was originally planned as a direct-to-video movie which would stick closer to the source material with tarzan going to england. i'm obviously very glad that that didn't happen and we got the movie we have now instead. -🌟
Sorry, was out of town for the weekend visiting family.
That's fair about Magic Kingdoms not being your type of game. I think the only real reason I play it is because it's something I can play casually and more of less keep up with, with out it taking too much time.
What I've seen of Dreamlight Valley looks like so much fun! And that would be amazing to see Tarzan and Jane in that game. Probably will never happen, but we can dream!
Ooo, I haven't seen that Rapunzel one, will have to look it up. I've always loved the concept art. So insane to think there's actually even Treasure Planet art in them!!!
Sadly we may never get Tarzan in Lorcana, but I found this artist during the Disemeber challenge on instagram, and he's actually done art for Lorcana. Looks like it was just the one card, Chief Bogo (which he's posted if you go though his stuff). May not be official, but at least here's a Christmas themed idea of what could be if they included Tarzan
instagram
OMG, I never expected any reference to Tarzan in Wish!! I haven't seen it yet (live in a small town, starting to think we may not even get it in our theatre), but now I'm even more excited to see it!
Oh wow, I actually didn't know that! That's so interesting (definitely so grateful they didn't go that route though). Would have been interesting to see how close Disney would get to the source material… don't know if you've ever read the books, but there's a lot of not so family friendly stuff. Also would have been such a waste, given the quality of D2V animation, would have been such a shame to only get Tarzan & Jane quality animation.

Hi hi hi! @troutfur from main here and I'm very !!! about Claymew. I've got a couple questions I wanted to ask:
Does your conlang differ much grammatically from base Clanmew or is it meant to be much the same just with lexical changes?
Are you expanding on other grammatical words like you did with pronouns? I for one would be really excited to see what alternative opening particles and forms of evidentiality others may come up with!
Are family and social structures in ClayClan going to differ much to how they are portrayed in canon/Better Bones? If so do you have vocab to reflect that?
What sorts of words related to the arts does ClayClan have? Theater in particular I find very intriguing.
Oh hello! :D Yessss questions... also thank you, it means a lot that you like this project!!! I'm excited to share more, I've already got some posts planned out haha. These answers got long so they're under the cut! Enjoy some rambling (and words for theater!)
Does Claymew differ much grammatically from base Clanmew?
At the moment, no, as I've been focused on filling out the lexicon - I just finished the tree expansion but I've still got 50+ plants to name before I consider it really complete (and even then I'm sure I'll keep finding stuff to add).
I also don't know a whole lot about grammar haha, that's the one part of language I struggle with... but! I do hope to learn more about unique grammar structures and possibly implement some, I think it'd be a lot of fun.
2. Are you expanding on other grammatical words like you did with pronouns?
Pretty much the same answer as above, in that I'd like to dig into this once I know more about it!
I think evidentiality in particular is very interesting, so that's probably the avenue I'd explore first. An aspect of base Clanmew I really like is the particles that differentiate methods of attaining information (sight, hearing, etc), so I'd like to pry into that and see if there's anything I can play with... ClayClan is so communal that I could see them having multiple particles for "I heard this from someone else", differentiating information from family members, Clanmates, outsiders, etc. I'll have to look into it!
3. Are family and social structures in ClayClan going to differ much in comparison to canon/Better Bones? Is there vocab to reflect this?
I really enjoy base Clanmew's perception of families, especially the mi/ba* system, so as of right now I'm running with that! The story of Heart Rot involves a lot of family drama, though, so I might mess with it to enhance that.
Actually now that I think about, I really ought to have a special word for a ClayClan cat who left honorably... For a second I also thought "oh and a word for QPRs" but then I remembered iwaw*, haha.
The family structures explored most directly in Heart Rot are the relationships between sisters, father-daughter bonds, and abusive partnerships, so if I do add new vocab it'll most likely be related to those.
OH AND MUD-KITTENS! Holy cow I forgot about those!!! A kitten found abandoned on the territory is a mud-kitten, a gift from Silverpelt to the Clan. They're always adopted in and raised unless their parent comes to claim them. The new word for a mud-kitten is glefmew, "raw clay kitten", a kit that's fresh from the world and ready for metaphorical molding.
4. What sort of words does Claymew have for the arts?
Plenty! I'm planning a full post about artsy words, so I'll just put the theater terms here for now. I make a lot of words with inspiration from base Clanmew, so those original words will be marked with an asterisk, as always.
Stage play - Paopapp (pao*, papp*) Musical - Paopayana (paopapp, yanana*) Rehearsed - Umnabana, umnaba, umnab (umnem*, ababab*) Stage - Sheshee Actor - Rrubab Cat who prepares the stage - Washrubab (washa*, rrubab; a "shadow-actor"!)
Yes ClayClan has musicals, yes they have musical kids, yes this is a hilarious concept to me as well. I was a major theater kid and still enjoy working backstage, so I looove exploring ClayClan theater! It's a concept I haven't seen explored much in WC fanwork, I'm glad you like it.

Hi.... If you don't mind me asking, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....
hi! i definitely dont mind, this is such a fun ask so i'm SO SORRY ive only answered now 😭 also im horrible at explaining my thoughts so please bear with me...
1. jujutsu kaisen
i can go on and on about jjk but I'm trying to keep this short so I don't go on an endless rant. OKAY. i love the power system of jujutsu, it's simple but also pretty flexible and creative, i love the historical and traditional aspect of it + how it ties into clan culture, i love how it branches into barrier techniques, reverse cursed technique, binding vows, etc. for characters like gojo in particular i love how he's pictured as the strongest and how akutami shows the gap between him vs all other sorcerers, like he was in a whole different league and how his birth changed/tipped the balance of the world of jujutsu. i love the whole "saving others" thing like how yuuji wants to save everyone, megumi wants to save good people, nobara wants to save the people who mean alot to her, gojo thinking abt how he can only save people who want to be saved, geto wanting to save sorcerers from non sorcerers, etc. i like how the series has aspects of history (like how sugawara no michizane was a sorcerer and how his descendants include the gojo clan is ⅓ of the three main clans of the series, and basically the entirety of tengen (lol)). i love the anime adaptation and how crazy the animation is (when s1 came out i was alr baffled but after watching s2 and looking back at s1 im even more impressed at their development), the manga's artstyle i was a big fan of but now not so much (the scratchyness and alternating thick and thin rough lines around the time of shibuya arc were PEAK). besides that as a buddhist myself, the multiple buddhism references in the series really cemented my love for it as it felt familiar and it feels like ur getting a shout out esp since most shows feature themes of catholicism and christianity.
2. blue lock
i'm honestly unathletic af idk why im here. i think what hooked me was the whole individualistic + egoist concept and the elimination setting (like squid game) 🙏 for me blue lock's prime is [2nd selection, 4v4] until the end of [u20 arc], i really liked the art style during that period! sadly, i feel blue lock has fallen off ever since the current NEL arc, it feels as if theyve deviated from the original ego concept (fuck this whole "protagonism" thing man wtf) and the artstyle has undergone changes im not particular to. also the anime wack af.
3. bungou stray dogs
im going to be honest. i did NOT like bsd. s1-s3 was too all over the place for me and i really did not get the series at all, i actually thought it ended but then they released s4 & s5 in 2023. almost a year since s4 came out, i came around to watching it and i got HOOKED, i think a big factor was that there was less fillers and a lot more action scenes, plus the detective vs mastermind thing truly popped off in s4 + s5. besides that, i enjoyed the introduction of new cast and the return of previous ones (now as allies). sure, there's plot holes and the anime cuts off a handful of scenes but it WAS an incredibly enjoyable watch. plus i'd say bsd has mountains of content (atleast in comparison with other serieses) because besides your usual manga, anime, and occasionally stage play adaptation. you have the alt univ. BEAST, light novels like stormbringer or 55 minutes, wan!, and even bsd gaiden (which has nothing to do w the main series)
4. haikyuu
THE classic. it was the first anime i got into when i started quarantine and it brought back my animanga phase. i love how the characters all have interesting stories to tell, their own motivations and personalities. lots of teamwork, teambuilding, found family(?) aspects, plus all the themes have their own specific themes which i dig a lot (ex. inarizaki and their foxes + shrines). plus i love how this series captures the thrill of watching sports, it MIGHT be overexaggerated to some but i get lightheaded when theyre at match-point and on the verge of losing so it does provide some kind of high. OH and i like that they show realistic wins and losses.
5. hunter x hunter
i have not read the manga but this show was serious to me. i'm a sucker for meta and power systems, and nen is like... actually insane. i love the characters SO MUCH, the variety of designs and appearances, how the series shows the way they grow throughout their adventures and experiences, the way they show a character's relationship with the rest of the cast, etc. it also gives a somewhat nostalgic vibe? i love the opening, endings, OSTs + narrator. it truly does feel like ur tagging along on their adventures, it was a real tearjerker for me tbh.
6. avatar: the last airbender + the legend of korra
i think atla is an amazing show bcs 1. cool setting and world building 2. the cultural references 3. cool dynamics 4. character personalities and development 5. cool power system and fighting styles 6. found family etc etc... ITS A COMPLETE PACKAGE. im p sure not much are fond of tlok but i love it. i think some reasons include the fact that korra isnt like aang, but i think thats what makes tlok interesting, korra is 17 when the show starts and the show continues to follow how she grows and develops into a fully realized avatar both physically and spiritually. i also think its bcs of how they modernized bending and how lots of the cultural aspect is lost but i think its an incredible and interesting way to showcase real life modernization.
7. jojo's bizarre adventure
jjba CHANGED ME 😭 this series is actually insane like if it was a person please get it to a mental ward. i think as an artist, it holds a very dear place in my heart. the show itself is absurd and unbelievable so it keeps you on your toes (dont mind the plot holes and inconsistencies, at some point you're just gonna have to live with it). but the selling point for me is the characters, everyone has amazing, colorful and distinct designs that match well with their personalities and overall air. not to mention the artstyle and references in everything to everything? lol. the show's different parts also feature different main casts, dynamics and storylines, sometimes they do a callback to a previous part.
okay! it was very hard choosing between the 7 of them but i think they actually were the ones that truly left an impact on me. thank you so much for the ask i finally got the chance to ramble about the stuff i consume 😭😭😭 there's a lot of media I'd love to talk about and mention so maybe one day ill make a post on hopefully all the media ive consumed.
honorable mentions:
genshin impact
i started genshin in 2021 when 1.3 came out, i was dead serious about this game during quarantine. i love liyue so much its what truly got me hooked (everything from the music, the sights, etc. for me liyue/pre inazuma was prime genshin), i enjoyed building characters and doing showcases too. started losing interest when sumeru came out and slowly stopped logging in/playing daily. the reason i wont put this in the actual list is bcs im pretty clueless about the new characters and story, nor do i have much interest in them. (i came back to do the lantern rite event, love the new liyue regions!)
detective comics
i love action and fights, especially when they feature powers, so liking superheroes makes sense 🤷 DC gets shit on alot bcs of the DCEU but the films aside i like DC better than marvel. im particular to gotham and the batfam, it's just more dark and gritty, plus there's lotsa drama going on LOL. the gotham knights cast also branches alot like to young justice (I LOVE YOUNG JUSTICE 😭), teen titans, titans, birds of prey, and ofc justice league.
chainsaw man, mob psycho 100, code geass, assassination classroom, neon genesis evangelion, trigun, fairy tail

hey, my name is aurora! i am currently looking for new long-term roleplays and new friends! below, you’ll find more information regarding me, my roleplaying style and more! if you’re interested in a potential roleplay, don’t hesitate to like this or send me a message!
Tumblr media
some more information about me: as stated previously, my pen name is aurora! i am eighteen years old ( please be the same age group, no older than twenty-five ), and i use she / her pronouns! i have been roleplaying for about six years or so. i am eastern daylight timezone, and i am currently quite active. and one of my favorite things is worldbuilding and creating original characters — which i have a multitude of. i am very open to ships and i love hearing about other’s original characters. i also only roleplay in mini private servers on discord. i do not care what others ship, but i will not entertain incest, pedophilia, non-con or anything along those things. in all honesty, i want a plot-oriented roleplay with angst, fluff, and the occasional smut.
what i can give / my style:
conversation outside / regarding the roleplay! one of favorite things do to is talk about our roleplay, wether it be characters, plot, ships, etc. i love coming up with ideas regarding the aforementioned. i love sharing art, making spotify playlists, sharing aesthetics, etc! as stated previously, i am quite often active and i am looking for long-term interaction. if we fall out of a roleplay or fandom, don’t worry. we can just create another. if you want to bring in a new concept, i will absolutely do research! i also love the concept of “what if” regarding to events in canon. i also love crossover characters, exploring and making up lore too! i’m up for fix-its as well. i am not too familar with “doubling up”, though i love doing two different things at once in a roleplay! however, doing two separate roleplays for the same fandom is quite repetitive to me so i tend to avoid it. i will also play canon characters for your oc as well! i try don’t just play one canon character, i like a variety! i also do the occasional nsfw / smut, though i am much more focused on other things so it won’t be a huge part of the roleplay.
tropes! i am a huge fan of tropes, especially with romantic dynamics! some of my favorites are enemies to lovers, forbidden love, soulmates, and lovers to enemies. not into shipping all that much? that’s fine! my favorite trope of all time is found family!
my style! i am a relatively literate person. my replies typically consist of three paragraphs, though i am happy to do more when the time calls for it! though i use lowercase for aesthetic purposes, my grammar and spelling is otherwise sound! i write in third person and most often in past tense. i’m also very plot-oriented, so please do not interact with this post if you only play a few amount of canon characters! i have multiple ocs for certain fandoms and i also can play whatever canon characters needed. also, i love to include canon / oc, canon / canon, and oc / oc. please do not ask me to just do just one of the aforementioned or opposite sex ships, i am much more interested in variety. i also typically do not roleplay live action fandoms, and i am uncomfortable using real life people as faceclaims in most cases. i use picrew, my own artistic abilities, or i use animated faceclaims. however, there are exceptions to this so please do not feel discouraged! also i am typically a plot-oriented person, so i play multiple characters. i also do not roleplay with people who use the art of others for their faceclaims without permission.
please note i ask for these things in return!
fandoms: overwatch, star wars ( tcw, tbb, totj — please only interact for star wars if you have at least seen the first two! i also love incorporating legends into star wars roleplays! ), transformers ( bayverse, transformers prime with influences from comics ), dc animation ( earth-16, dcau, dcamu with influences from comics ), riordanverse ( percy jackson, heroes of olympus ), avatar ( atla, tlok ), the dragon prince.
please note what i am currently fixating on is italicized! but do not be discouraged if you are into another fandom i mentioned. honestly, i love doing two separate fandoms at once! however, i tend to only want to do the same category, if that makes sense. for example, i consider overwatch, star wars, transformers, and dc one category — with riordanverse, avatar, and the dragon prince in another.

Now that the prologue is done, I can't thank the fans of this series enough.
No, we haven't hit any particular follower milestone. The story has just begun. And most of you haven't given me any sort of financial support to help me out, either. (And that's alright! I haven't asked, lol.)
I'm thanking you for just being apart of the audience.
I started PB in a little blue notebook during the summer of 2015. It was originally meant for my eyes only. And a big part of the reason why was that, when I googled things like "Special Ed makes me feel bad," there wouldn't be much of anything coming up. There were Quora forums! A couple of YouTube videos. Articles here and there.
But it wasn't a lot. Not enough to help me out for long. And it only hammered the idea further into my head that I was alone in what I endured. As I got older, grew up, and away from the program and people who took my disabled youth, I constantly felt this urge to talk about it. What SpEd had put me through. What I'd lost. What I'd seen & heard. The things I did and didn't learn. Even though I was never a very open kid, let alone teenager.
I hated that no one was talking about it. And how nobody knew what happened to kids like me behind closed doors. At 13 and 14, almost none of the new friends I made had ever heard a life story like mine. And I've always found that wild: I had a LOT of friends! (Still do!)
So I kept drawing it out. Kept working on the story in notebooks, sketchbooks, my friends' DMs, and anywhere else words could go. Sometimes, my family would catch glimpses of the concept art. Sad sketches of Matthew crying, freaky drafts of Monster, or tense moments between what would become Class 7-C.
And one of my parents would be like, "Why is your art so depressing?" They'd roll their eyes. And they'd add on, "People's parents aren't gonna like it!"
No, I never told them what the story was about. I never even told them it was a children's media (because it kinda isn't! I'd personally put PB as 13+?) These were judgments made with just one glance at computer papers covered in pencil strokes; sketchy and shapey little kids who didn't look like they were having fun.
I knew they were wrong. But the audacity still pissed me off. There aren't many times where it's appropriate to boss somebody else around in how to tell their story, you know? Not only that, but I also worried about not having an audience back then. Sure, all my friends loved my work. But at the time, I was the only one who'd really experienced anything "Special Education" in life. Thus, these were General Ed kids watching it unfold. Able-bodied eyes and (as far as I knew back then) neurotypical minds, watching and learning from whatever I made.
And I liked that. But that wasn't the only group I wanted to be seen by. I wanted disabled people, especially youth in their teens and twenties, to see it. That's my primary audience. And shit like that made me wonder if I'd ever find it. Had me second-guessing myself a little, you know?
But I shook it off. It's like that thing teachers always say in class. "If you're confused or have a question, ask: whatever it is, you probably aren't the only one thinking it!"
And I searched for stuff like PAPERBOY, hadn't I? Yeah. I had. So by that logic, other people definitely would be, too.
So I stuck to my guns, and... check it! Y'all showed up!
One thing I've noticed ever since publishing part 1 is that the PB Nation is pretty damn devoted. You guys have been patient, passionate, silly, and unapologetically yourselves since the get-go. And the response to every old promotional comic or post I've made has been OVERWHELMINGLY positive and curious. I've gotten fucking fanart, man! More than once! I've had the honor of meeting a few of you in person already! And for the ones who haven't caught me out with my friends in New York, believe me, I REMEMBER who comments what.
By the way, you guys should spam my comments more. Fuckin' love that shit. SPEAK TO ME, lmao. Even if it's like, the most irrelevant PB question ever. Keyboard smash in my comment sections. Send me disability reels you like. Tell me what you wanna see from the story. Whatever, as long as it doesn't bleed into parasocial territory!
I've gotta have one of the best audiences out there. So thank you! For just... being around. Here's to hoping y'all enjoy the journey we're aboutta go on.

Now that I know you like Fred Jones a whole lot, I want to know your opinions on the rest of Mystery Inc. :D Also, what do you think of Scrappy, Flim Flam and Vincent Van Ghoul?
oh i am so glad you asked! i love all the main 5 members of mystery inc! fred's my favorite of course, but the rest aren't that far behind (infodump incoming)
velma was my favorite as a kid (i was dorky kid with glasses myself) and she's still such an icon. i probably like her the best in where are you, what's new, and zombie island/witch's ghost-- sweet, smart, and enthusiastic, rather than being more sarcastic or reserved. OH and i love how they made her semi-nonverbal in a pup named scooby-doo! she's an autistic legend just like fred
daphne's adorable, i especially love her characterization in be cool scooby-doo, she's so chaotic but is also the heart and soul of the group. i still really like her original and #girlboss characterizations as well though! i love how they ended up giving her so many different talents and interests to make up for how undefined her personality was originally, so she has so many cool hobbies like surfing and martial arts.
shaggy's great too! i think how good he is hinges heavily on the given writers grasp on comedy, but i also think he's at his best when he has some depth beyond just being comedy relief (early 00's live action and be cool are probably my favorite versions of him, followed by the gold key scooby-doo mystery comics and where are you).
and of course i love the good boy scoobert doobert himself! i prefer a more doglike scooby, rather than more recent iterations that have him act a lot more like a human, but sometimes it can be done well. i found be cool's scooby to be really funny and likable despite being more humanlike, probably because they don't have him talk a whole lot, but when he does it's usually in dry one-liners and it just kind of works.
as far as scrappy goes, im kind of in the minority in that im kind of neutral on him? i think he has a lot of potential as a part-time member of the gang (the whole concept of "scooby's baby nephew who fears no man or god and really REALLY wants to punch a ghost (and also looks up to scooby and thinks HE'S really brave)" is absolutely hilarious. that being said, i haven't seen anything with scrappy in it as an adult (not counting the 2002 movie), and as a kid i didn't prefer the shows with him in it, ESPECIALLY the ones that didn't have velma and fred (but mostly because of velma). i think i just saw that velma wasn't in those ones and saw it as a personal slight lmao, i was like really offended asdjfkdjf. i think it was a mistake for them to go all in on scrappy (and the extended doo family) like they did, where they kind of sacrificed the original gang and formula for something new, which didn't really stick for most people. scrappy saved the scooby franchise, but also almost ended up destroying it once it started to kind of revolve around him (luckily it was saved by a pup named scooby doo). but, because i refused to watch the movies and shows from the "dark era" as a kid, its kind of a literal dark era for me in that i really don't know that much about it and have seen very little. it's high up on my list of scooby media to watch though, and i might detour from mystery incorporated to look into some of that soon.
but ANYWAY lol, long story short i think scrappy has potential and doesn't deserve all the hate he gets, but as he is he's not really my favorite, and even if he was done well, i wouldn't want him to be a permanent member of the gang, because i think the chemistry between the original 5 is so good. i wouldn't be sad personally if he never returned, but it'd be nice to see him come back as long as he was done well.
i've never seen the 13 ghosts of scooby-doo, so i'm not really familiar with flim flam or vincent van ghoul! well, i saw a little bit of van ghoul in mystery incorperated, but idk how similar he is to his original counterpart. it feels like it doesn't count lol
anyway scooby-doo autism moment over, thanks for giving me an excuse to infodump about my current hyperfixation haha

All righty y’all! As a celebration of passing 3K comics read and the new year here’s a list of comics I personally think are Worth Your Time. I only included runs I’ve read at least a good chunk of so if you’re personal favorites aren’t here I might not’ve read em yet, or just haven’t read enough to pull of my favorites in the case of longer runs
In (mostly) alphabetical order:
Another Castle by Andrew Wheeler and Paulina Ganucheau : A fun cast of characters, a princess who kicks ass what more could you want, really.
Aquicorn Cove by Katie O’Neill: in fact just go ahead and read everything Katie has written. It’s all lovely and heartwarming, full of diversity and genuine characters. I could not recommend enough. Great for all ages!
Avatar Katara and the Pirates Silver/ Suki Alone/Toph Beifongs Metal Bending Academy: These standalone stories have been excellent. They really fit in with the tone and pacing of the show. I can’t wait for Azula’s solo to release.
Avatar The Lost Adventures: On the sillier side of what ATLA was (mostly) but a good fun time over all.
Avatar Free Comic Book Day Issues: they’re free!
Batgirl (2000): Cass’s batgirl run is phenomenal actually. Really, for real, you should try it.
Batgirl (2009): Stephs batgirl run is shorter and you can pick up the entire thing in TPB form easily. This era of Batfam comics also has a special place in my heart, I feel like a lot of writers found their stride here. There’s room for hope and all that.
Batgirl (2011- the Gail Simone half): if you’re on Tumblr im sure you know the problems with this run. I just really love Babs, this was one of the first comic series I ever read, my introduction to Babs, and also Gail is an excellent writer and some of the stories in this run are just phenomenal all around- looking at you issue 30.
Batgirl Special (1988): you want some QUALITY BabsGirl content?? This is an excellent start!
Batgirl The Greatest Stories Ever Told: collects a number of classic BabsGirl stories from the pre-crisis Batman comics. As well as some post crisis comics I’ll be putting on this list on their own anyway.
Batgirl Year One: The definitive post crisis Batgirl origin story! I loved all the nods to what Babs goes on to do (work with black canary, become oracle etc etc) and the art is very fun.
Batgirls: Can you tell I like the batgirls? The art is fun, the stories are low stress. It’s a fun run to just pull up and have a good time with. The earlier runs definitely dealt with heavier narratives but not everything has to be doom and gloom to be good.
Batman Cataclysm and No Man’s Land: You’ve probably heard people talk this arc up before. They’re not lying to you! It’s long, and there’s a lot of batfam members active in it but it’s absolutely worth reading if you enjoy the bats
Batman Second Chances: collecting Jason’s post crisis origin (issues 408-416) plus a few other stories this is definitely worth the read if, again, you like the bats.
Batman Death in the Family: the one Jason dies in and Tim’s pre N52 origin!
Batman Knightfall: Bane comes in and absolutely wrecks Bruce’s shit what’s not to enjoy
Batman Court of Owls/Night of Owls/City of Owls: man the Court is such a cool enemy concept for Bruce. Some of the only good things N52 gave us IMO
Batman Death of the family: I just really enjoyed the whole family having to come together I won’t lie
Batman Fear State: this was an absolute mess but it was a FUN mess
Batman and Robin (2011): alright don’t murder me but I though this run had more depth of writing than the 2009 run did…. Like both are good but I kinda think this one’s better…. In fact just go ahead and read the whole Robin Requiem arc

DC Festival of Heroes/DC Pride: more short story collections
DC First batgirl/joker: another Babgirl story recommendation? It’s more likely than you think
Earth Prime 4: this is a fun stand alone Stargirl story. You don’t have to watch the tv show to follow it (I say this with certainty because I myself don’t watch the show)
Extraordinary by V.E. Schwab (if you’ve read Vicious the novel first): hard to talk about this without spoiling the plot of the novel but if you read and enjoyed that this is also good yes
The Final Night: the 90s had some real bangers didn’t they? Also known for the time Hal died (for realsies)
The Flash (2011): flash fans will probably passionately inform me there’s better flash stories prior to N52 but I haven’t read em and *I* think this run is damn enjoyable. And this is my list and I can put whatever I want in it
Gotham Academy: zany wacky hijinks ensue
Green Arrow by Mike Grell: Grell knows his shit
Green Arrow (2001): look at the Arrowfam get together!!!
Green Lantern/Green Arrow Hard Traveling Heroes: politics in comics can be good actually
Green Lantern Legacy/Alliance: some of the DC graphic novels are excellent really
Identity Crisis: this story made me insane I love it
Injustice Gods Among Us: it’s not a ‘what if Superman were evil’ story so much as a ‘what if Superman lost his way and broke everyone’s hearts and then also the world’ story
Legends of the DC Universe #6-11: some great stories of Dick Grayson, Clark Kent, Hal Jordan, Oliver queen and Barbara Gordon!
Let them live! Unpublished Tales from the DC Vault! #2 and #5: great Dick and Ollie content

Superman/Shazam first thunder: and then Clark adopted Billy…. Right?
Superman smashes the Klan: yeah I see why this is called required reading
Task force Z: I am willing to die on this hill

Wonder Woman agent of peace/Wonder Woman black and gold/Wonder Woman come back to me/Wonder Woman Hiketeia: More Wonder Woman stories!
Worlds finest (2009): 2009-10 batfam my beloved

An au between ditoeftv and TAE where Jieun doesn't get sent to the other world and instead gets her newborn daughter from the first timeline and ogPenelope gets sent to Korea before the first event begins with Emily and Reynold. Confused by the new surroundings, og Penelope wonders around until she encounter Jieun and her dad coming out of a grocery store with baby formula and diapers. Jieun assumes that ogPenelope is from the other world and asks her dad if Penelope could come with them as penny looks confused and needs help.
Penelope has a hard time understanding them as since she doesn't speak or understand Korean but follows their lead regardless.
Over the next few weeks, ogPenelope grew accustomed to living in Korea with Jieun and her family. They teach her korean so they can finally communicate with each other. They took her to the doctors after finding needle marks on her arms and had found out that she was being starved by her previous "family". They get her therapy to help her out and eventually adopt Penelope into their family(penny would still be a minor since she's 17)
Jieun and Penelope along just nicely as both are around the same age and Jieun teaches Penelope how to be a normal teenage girl in modern day and well also trying to balance her life as a teenager and a teen mom to her daughter.
Meanwhile back in Eorka, the duchy are searching for Penelope after she mysteriously disappeared. Emily gets fired or something for losing her mistress. The eckharts assumed that Penelope had ran away or was kidnapped but found no struggle in her room.
Back in Korea, Penelope learns how to cook from her new mom and maybe take online classes since I don't think she'll be able to keep up from Jieun in school. She makes her own friends when going on outings with Jieun and her friends. One day Jieun and Penelope find out about "Daughter of the Duke - Love Project!" And tried playing after hearing their friends talking about it. So they play the first few minutes of it only to realize that it's about Yvonne and Penelope is actually a game character. And Penelope's the Villainess of the game.
Sometimes Penelope get panic attacks when she thinks what will happened to her if she is sent back to that hell hole. She finally had a family that CARE about her, one that didn't TORMENT and NEGLECT her, they treat her as a person with feelings and not a replacement or toy. Why would she want to go back? (The reason why she need therapy increased)
Q shenanigans of Jieun and her family trying to Penelope to fit in while raising a baby. Sorry for the angst bit😔. They probably dye her hair black or brown? Maybe they'll meet Siyeon at some point I don't think she can get into the game if the original owners body isn't there?
Not sure if I'd actually write this au since I'm not that good at writing but I'll come up with a name for the au eventually. What do you think?
I'm onboard with any AU where Penny and Jieun are happy. It's an interesting concept for sure. After the bad ending the villainesses get send to the real world and befriend each other and help each other healing from their trauma. Jieun is finally reunited with her child and gets to raise it (something you rarely see in Isekais). I guess since Koreans count the age differently Penelope would be 18/19? She still would not considered an adult. I wonder how she could get into university with no prior education 🤔 even if she takes lessons now she's years behind her peers who have been drilled to pass through entrance exams for years. Maybe she majors in arts? As for her unnatural eye and hair color, she can just say she dyed them and is wearing contacts. And if she's acting a little odd no one questions it, art majors are just like that, right?
And don't worry about your writing. If you want to write it, write it. Everyone has to start somewhere! If your creative drive is there and you practice often it can only get better and better.

Found the design sheet! Only took me a while to sort through the mess that's my "my stuff 2" folder. I don't even know why I named it that since this laptop is literally my own.
TL;DR: I talk about my Vocaloid Oliver design, show some progress pics and talk more regarding his overall concept.
↓↓ Click here if you'd like to know more! ↓↓
So... if you've been following me for a bit, you'll probably realize that I've changed from posting everyday to posting every other day. Well, about that, it's because I realized that I'll actually run out of artworks at this rate since I'm relatively slow in making art in general.
Which brings me to today's topic! I'd like to talk about some of the process I go through whenever I design a character, or in this case: Oliver.
Like, I don't know if you've noticed but I'm not exactly good at art, sometimes I reuse poses and it ticks me off, othertimes I literally reuse identical character distinctions and it takes me a while before realizing. However, I do always try my best to not have overlapping character designs so that every one of them is unique in their own way. My personal favourite trick is to add something that's awfully big and obvious that makes them look clearly different, even when they're completely shaded over with black (Oliver's tail).
First things first, I try to come up with a doodle with some sort of concept in mind. There were actually a couple more pre-concept art doodles that I made a good 4-5 years ago that isn't included in this post, I'm considering posting it (+ another one I drew up a year ago) in a separate post since it's getting a bit late and I don't feel like digging it up.
Since I'm playing around with an Oliver from a universe where the Vocaloids are an alternate version of their original VPs (more clarification in the previous Oliver fanart), + I mentioned that his specific side-effect was borderlining on life-threatening (also in the previous Oliver post), I decided to draw him as half human, half Nessie the Loch Ness Monster.
Tumblr media
There were quite a number of reasons why I chose her compared to other monsters: 1) I've always had the headcannon that the PowerFX Vocaloids were like a big family, not necessarily blood-related but they're spiritually bounded to each other. Since I personally believe that Sweet Ann and Big Al are Oliver's new adoptive parents, I think it'll be nice for him to also be a monster in some way. (+ the amount of Oliver is a monster/half-monster headcannons in the fandom is uhh, hoo boy) 2) Oliver has always reminded me of a sailor. I don't know why and I'm pretty sure his entire costume is based off of a pre-existing choir's outfit, so there's literally no reason for it to have ties to the sea. Maybe it's the colour palette? Or maybe a Vocaloid fanfiction I read a long time ago that I've forgotten since then? Idk, but either way I really like the thought that he came from either a family of sailors or a family that lived close to the sea. 3) Okay, if you know anything about the Loch Ness Monster myth, you'd know that its origin is from Scotland and not you know, Britain, where Oliver's supposedly from. And to that I say, my argument as a South-east Asian is that it's CLOSE ENOUGH... Plus, I don't think there's other Sea Monster myths that are as easily recognizable as Nessie, who ironically enough doesn't even live in the sea, rather, she lives in a fucking lake. But still, the other couple of Sea Monsters/Sea Creatures myths that I think are decently popular are probably the Kraken or the Mermaids + Sirens. The Kraken is eliminated from the selection since this isn't supposed to be the Horror genre LOL, and the Mermaids + Sirens are a bit too far regionally, plus they're a bit basic (sorry to all my Mermaids + Sirens lovers out there) imo.
Tumblr media
There are some ugly AF doodles here but it's what you go through when you're me, sadly.
Also, if you noticed but here I finalized the design you saw in the previous Oliver fanart where he was wearing a merge of these two testing designs of his cloak:
Tumblr media
The former was partially inspired by the Scottish Kilt Sash, though it's not very obvious since Oli's not Scottish so I just took inspo from the way it's usually framed on one's body. The latter however was inspired by manta rays, they look STUPID as hell and I love them, so as a compromise, I merged the two cloaks together and that's what became of the current one! B)
It's actually getting a bit too long for my laptop to handle so I'll leave it here for now.💀💀
See you on Friday! B) Might be posting an original artwork then so you can look forward to it!

Couple things about DBH specifically Markus bc my brain is having thoughts bc I've been stuck in the house for a week bc I live in Texas and we don't know how to deal with icy roads around here:
1. These bitches really did predict AI art. Shit...
2. The fact that the only "good" endings for Markus are in the peaceful route is fuckin stupid. I hate hurting people and war is a fucking tragedy no matter what, but the moment when people go from just confused to actively wanting you dead is the moment the claws have to come out. Looking and acting the part of the model oppressed can only get you so far. True freedom from systemic oppression requires the dismantling of the system of oppression, and that requires active, constant, unyielding pressure. Following that...
3. Also they were literally doing Android concentration camps at the end there. That hack David Cage might be like "nOt RaCiSm" and shit but like. The Holocaust references were fucking explicit throughout the entire fucking game. And then if you make the wrong choices one of your big three literally gets to stand in line at fucking android gas chambers like what in the actual fuck? AND THE ONLY WAY TO SAVE EVERYONE IS TO PICKET THE THINGS!? WHAT!?
Like when it gets to that fucking point, I'm sorry, North was right. That's when the gloves come off and the knives come out. Cause if these are people and they are alive, this is a whole genocide. And then you sit here picketing a concentration camp as people are murdered systematically and ruthlessly every second you sit there? WHEN YOU HAVE THE NUMBERS AND ABILITY TO FUCKING DO SOMETHING.
Yeah sorry I liked the singing too but like... as a trans person who has Jewish friends and found family, I cannot IMAGINE being able to physically, actively save your own people from certain doom and then just... not doing it. And instead just standing around waiting for the pigs to murder you too. Like there's a point where enough is enough and that line was crossed several acts ago, bucko.
4. Also from a gameplay standpoint wouldn't it make the most sense for you have to pick out of certain routes for certain situations? The game as a whole suffers from this, but in a game about choices I tend to find it far more interesting when the best endings end up having a decent split between the "good" and "bad." And a game about making choices to lead an entire revolution would've been the perfect stage for something like that. But no, good is ALWAYS good, bad is ALWAYS bad. Mix of both means "wacky." Ffs.
5. I feel like the whole concept of deviancy wasn't explained in a satisfying way, bc the way they explain it means that these androids aren't actually alive. All they're doing is replicating, they're not actually feeling. It's like with AI art as we know it IRL (see, coming full circle XD), all it can do is steal from other ideas and copy things that already exist. Deviancy as explained in-game is the equivalent: copying emotions and reactions to situations, rather than actually having the conciousness to actually feel and think for oneself.
6. And yet, the very first time we're introduced to deviancy outside of Conner's prologue is Markus creating new art. Deviancy as explained should not allow for this to happen; it should be his first attempt (a perfect copy of something that already exists), or something like what we see in AI art (stolen amalgams of other people's ideas). But his art is (canonically, mind you) entirely original. They're abstract, and they evoke definitive, visceral emotion, while also being grounded and real enough that it could only come from the soupy weirdness of a human mind. It's not a replica, or a mishmash of thievery, it's real art (yes I know those were paintings made for the game by real people but we're talking about in-game canon here and honestly that just proves my point).
And the prompts to make those paintings are literally just what Markus is thinking about. He's taking an abstract concept, interpreting his own feelings about that concept, and painting something that means something to him. That's literally exactly how people do art, that's how we have done since we've existed as humans.
7. Therefore the canonical explanation of deviancy as replicating human emotion and thought is categorically stupid and self-evidently wrong. Which begs to question... why didn't they just go the route literally every other sci-fi story about rogue AI has done for literally decades and just go "well, they've started to evolve an actual consciousness and cognitive process for interpreting the world around them by both learning from humans and evolving as artificial lifeforms." No they had to go for the more "realistic" explanation bc they wanted this grounded in reality.
In a story about. Rogue AI. Robot detectives. A point within the next 10 years in which racial disparity and discrimination in the US is not an issue anymore. People adopting robot children who do everything a child does. One (1) single queer couple seen in the entirety of an oppressed community. A point within the next 10 years where androids not only exist, not only are household items, but are a normal part of every day life to the point where even lower-class people like Todd can afford the multiple thousand dollar price tag for not just one, but 2 androids, and constant repair for both of them because he beats them so bad. Oh and the fact that they're so widespread that one of their parts is the primary component in a widely-known and used street drug (and has been so for years by the time the game takes place).
I know I shouldn't expect better from a hack like David Cage. But I can't help it cause fucking hell this game should've been so much better.
8. Also fuck him and his team for cutting out Simarkus so late in development like what the fuck was that. What so you couldn't trim out some of the pointless bits of Kara's stuff, no the gays were what had to go? Ffs.

I told you I was thinking thoughts. Thank you for reading them.

Alright, I finally got around to doing this, so here’s my Great Ace Attorney oc, Engel Karma, the ancestor of the von Karmas and the first of them to go into prosecuting
The 1st one is the one I did this morning, and the 2nd is the original I made
(More info under the cut)
Oh right, note about Engel’s gender, so basically when making the character, I was unsure what gender to make them, so I made up this thing where no one in universe knew his gender either, and he wouldn’t say, so they just assumed their gender, and it’s different for each character (for example, van Zieks thinks Engel is male, while Kazuma thinks she’s female), and it’s never actually addressed in universe. I asked my friend what I should do and they said just keep it as is, so yeah. Engel’s gender is whatever you want it to be. For the sake of consistency, I’ll just use he/him for now
Oh yeah, I remember one thing that made their gender a question was the fact that Engel has an unusually high voice, even for his age
He was based on this piece of van Zieks concept art I found
Tumblr media
So backstory time, his father was the original “Karma”, aka the family who took on the name of Karuma. He was a street rat back in Germany who would always steal to get what he wants/needs, but eventually he ticked off a few too many people and he had to escape onto a ship leaving Germany, which ended up going to Japan. There he started to go back to his habits, until he ended up meeting the Asogi clan (he might have stolen from them, or he just encountered them, I’m not sure) and they ended up taking him in as a student, and his experience with them was so profound that he wanted to change his ways and atone for his past mistakes, and to symbolize his change and to honor the people responsible for this new outlook, he took the name of their clan’s sword as a family name, and he went back to Germany to start a new life there. He was able to make a decent living back in Germany and settled down to start a family, though his past as a thief was still known
So years later, Engel grows up on his father’s philosophies and desire to pursue justice, and decided the best way to do this was to become a prosecutor. Unfortunately, due to his father’s previous reputation, not to mention his own sort of poor status, as well as his age, he was unable to get anyone to take him on as an apprentice. (Apparently in Germany you have to study under a lawyer for 2 years before you can take the bar exam. I know Ace Attorney doesn’t necessarily follow actual law but I just wanted to use it) So, hearing of the prosecutors in England, he decides to head over there to find someone to study under
He’d show up sometime after DGS 2, and basically how everyone meets him is just him breaking into the High Prosecutor’s Office, demanding for someone to take him on in German. They’re basically like “who’s this weird German child??”
Now, in terms of his language skills, he speaks very poor English. Basically he’s at the level of a high school student who took a year or two of a foreign language, so he can somewhat survive, but he will most likely switch back to German. He gets better over time. However, as everyone later discovers, he shockingly speaks great Japanese. I also like to think van Zieks knows some Japanese, so I think it’d be funny if between Kazuma, van Zieks and Engel, the language they use to communicate is Japanese.
He eventually gets taken under the wing of van Zieks and Kazuma, and once he becomes an official prosecutor he looks more like that concept art. He becomes very successful back in Germany, reaching a very high societal status, and as a nod to van Zieks, he adds “von” to his surname.
Oh yeah, in terms of his place in the family, I’d say he’s Manfred’s grandparent
So yeah, I think that’s everything

I primarily share my artwork, writing, and project development notes for Broken Dimensions, my personal passion project. I do ask that you NOT repost my art or other content - reblogs are really cool though! Otherwise, stick around for some cool art and original story lore!
Other I am A Bit Dense and don't have the greatest grasp on social cues and while I'm a stickler for getting all the facts in a given situation I am 1) not perfect, 2) a student, and 3) not online enough to get all the context in a lot of situations, so if and when I fuck up or if/when you see me talking about something and you think I don't have all the facts, please feel free to tell me!! Angrily if necessarily!! Thanks in advance for not letting me completely wreck myself over a genuine misunderstanding!

About Broken Dimensions
Most info about Broken Dimensions can be found on the project website, listed above, but to summarize:
Broken Dimensions is the collective name for a series of projects which take place in the same universe, but often a different points in time. It all takes place in a magical sci-fi world of hyper blasters, warp pads, levitation, and mind control. I do a lot of crazy worldbuilding and have way too many thoughts in my brain, so a lot of these stories are still in the outline-only stage, but several are actively being published online or drawn:
The Lycanthra Syndicate is a sci-fi western crime story whose focus is on the Iron Archipelagos and the crime syndicates who run them - and, more specifically, the one trying to figure out whose really pulling everyone's strings. The Lycanthra Syndicate: Demon Strike graphic novel is currently in development as one of my senior projects!
Fractal Alliances is an ongoing collection of stories that take place in the latest Era of the Broken Dimensions timeline, Era 10, from years 1906 thru 2042. The story collection follows several key leaders of the most present interdimensional governments: that of the New Aetherian Empire and the North Tartarun Coalition, with a focus on certain leaders (the Emperor of Aetheria, the Arv'hein of Talki, the royal families of Mercisha and Trivaal, the Queen of Alcairo, and others). Fractal Alliances is a story of interdimensional politics, the horrors of war, manipulative near-deities, and (underneath it all) queer romance. It updates periodically as short story collection the project website, listed above.
Additionally, as a queer person myself, I try to feature a lot of queer characters in my stories - not only because I believe representation is important, but because its realistic. If you like emotionally developed, strong (and sometimes very, very emotionally/physically/magically weak) queer characters, come along for the ride!
The project itself is a product of years of creativity, media consumption, and daydreaming, and is always growing. Posting about it here has been a fantastic experience in terms of cataloging and sharing all the progress since the project's inception in 2020.
If this at all interests you, click here and visit the master post for more OR check out the website: Broken Dimensions project website!
That's all for now! K'oyacyi!!

So I went to go look to buy The Art of The Croods: A New Age, but couldn’t find it. Got worried they might not be making one for it (they also didn’t do one for Trolls World Tour it seems), but then I found this book
Tumblr media
titled ‘A Field Guide to’ instead of ‘The Art of’. But I can’t seem to find any pre-order or release date info. Anyone know anything else about this book?

.: Yuuta Profile :.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ Commission by: https://twitter.com/nill0013] Updated Yuuta’s profile, which I plan to use to edit my pinned when I have time to rework Rennie’s with the most current information! Yuuta is my TWST MC/Kantokusei and Alden belongs to my friend Roni. Info about Alden is left vague as he isn’t my OC.  ----------------------------------------------- Name: Yuuta [ Yuu for short Dorm: Ramshackle Gender: Nonbinary [ They/He- masculine ] Age: 16 Class: 1-A Club: N/A They just tag along to whichever  group invites them. Best Subject: Magical History Favorite Food: Nikuman/Curry pan Least Favorite Food: Natto Dislikes: Heights Talent: Throwing pencils/pens and hitting their target. Hobby: Photography Personality, Concept, and Key moments listed in the Read more!
----------------------------------- Yuuta’s Personality:  Cheeky, with a sharp tongue at times. However, Yuuta is rather reserved and tends to keep to themselves unless pushed to do otherwise. Plagued by amnesia and graphic “flashbacks” of past lives, Yuuta is often lost in their own thoughts around situations that feel like deja vu. Still, when you manage to get the Prefect to go out, you’ll find they’re just an eager teen longing to make the most out of their situation.  Still, the frequent blank look on their face is enough to leave anyone a little unsettled as they repeat words to Grim, almost script-like. An exact opposite mirror to their “Looking glass” copy, Alden. Alden is the one who took all of the Protector traits of their split being, acting as a guardian alongside Yuuta. Big photographer nerd- longs to participate in magic but watches in vain as Grim partakes in their magical courses.100% will pay to watch Ace and Grim fight. Loses it when Deuce goes Bad Boy mode and often joins in. ----------------------------------------------------- Yuuta Concept:  Yuuta encompasses the “Time Reset/Loop Theory” alongside the importance of the Ghost Camera hinted within Twisted Wonderland’s Prologue. “Yuu” is told to take as many pictures as possible of their school adventures by Crowley, speaking of the importance of them. The pictures capture a Memory, a piece of the past. With this theory, it is believed the pictures hold the key to “Bring things back that were lost” aka resetting time. When we go back to Prologue, we are greeted with an Overblotted Grim and ultimately defeated with no chance to win. Should we use the Ghost Camera and it’s memories to reset us back to “happier times”, surely we could prevent the events with time. Yuuta is the embodiment of hundreds of Yuus- Male, Female, nonbinary- Yuus of all walks of life that have reset the timeline with the Power of the Ghost Camera who have all died/almost perished at points of time. Due to no photos retaining a Yuu’s physical appearance/nature existing within the camera, their “Self” reset alongside the timeline. Birthing a new Yuu to replace what was lost. Losing more and more of their original self alongside memories. Yuuta was also split, representing Alice’s looking glass, creating a mirror copy known as Alden as a Safe Measure should Alden fail to stop Grim. Yuuta is not human- just fragments of past Yuus and a fabricated appearance to exist within the World of Twisted Wonderland. This is also why they have no place to return to when questioned by the Mirror. For they don’t truly “exist”. While they can’t recall past events other Yuus experienced, certain things feel scary and familiar- resulting in sudden and sometimes graphic flashbacks that are just fuzzy enough to feel both Real and confusing. This has led Yuuta to have a strained and difficult relationship with Grim due to the fear bubbling in their chest. Grim does not understand this, due to not recalling anything in the past timeline and at times tries to comfort Yuuta [ Future canon chapters ] when events get too vivid. They feel compelled to protect Grim and yet- are terrified of him. When Grim blew the lid off of the coffin in the beginning of Prologue after the timeline was reset once more- Yuuta and Alden were stuffed inside it together. Hand in hand, unaware of the Role Crowley had predetermined for them in this Twisted Tale. ------------------------------------------- Iconic events that happened in Yuuta’s timeline: 1: An unspoken promise to always be there for each other with Alden once they woke up. 2: Scared to death by the ghosts in Ramshackle that first night 3: Felt a wave of comfort upon meeting Ace and Deuce for the “first” time 4: Broke through the floor in Ramshackle while Ace and Deuce were on the first floor. Resulted in jokes to come for Weeks. [ Chapter 1 ] 5: Pelted Ace and Deuce with rolled up paper in class- got in trouble after being caught snorting. 6: Got super interested in Magical History, could be found in the school’s library often with Alden. 7: Frequently takes pictures of events/friends, keeping each picture in a special album as their prized possession. They keep it under their bed pillow. 8: After their first vivid nightmare at night, Grim tried to comfort Yuu by giving them a Tuna Can and curling up in their arms on the bed. 9: Halloween and Christmas, the ghosts of Ramshackle comforted Yuu when they felt left out not having any family to celebrate with. 10: Yuuta is courting/has a crush on Lilia, though they don’t explore it beyond fleeting moments until the events of main story conclude. They both find each other Very interesting and take it as a lesson to learn how to live as a human despite the reality. Yuuta may not be a human, but they can Live like one. And forge their own path. 11: Yuuta has scars on their arm from the “past” caused by Grim. When they’re attacked by Grim in Chapter 5-6, it leaves them shattered and inconsolable. Both from the Deja Vu and reality of the injury. --------------------------------- Bonus Links: Additional Yuuta art is visible at their Toyhouse: https://toyhou.se/7949782.yuuta/gallery Yuuta’s Music Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7kVOsDH6lSwS3aKlPKSxNa?si=a3dc2fa6bfc9439b

These interviews were amazing! It's about an hour long - highlights from the podcast under the cut:
Gina
The COVID readthrough had to be done in little anti-rooms, and Noah was able to work with everyone's voices really well. The script made it clear that they couldn't go backwards and the show was very forward-looking.
She worried people wouldn't accept Sophie without Nate, because Sophie's story and identity were so wrapped up with Nate. (She brings up "Nophie" fans which omg takes me back.) She feels blessed that people have accepted Sophie as a character without Nate.
She loves saying "Let's go steal..." because it makes her, Beth, and Christian so happy!
Sophie becoming a mastermind was done very subtly and slowly over the season, which helped Gina find the character again. Sophie doesn't start to thrive until the second half.
The podcaster sees Sophie as much more "maternal" in Redemption (which I personally think is because Sophie's a little older and not flirting as much as she was in the og series). Gina sees Sophie as very maternal in the og series - toward Parker specifically and also Hardison, particularly because Aldis was so young back then. She made a conscious decision to not go down that route with Parker again because of all the time that has passed - it was very important to Gina that Sophie never condescend to Parker, especially since Parker has been in charge of an international crew for years.
^ Because of this, Gina calls the Breanna character a "godsend" because it gives Sophie somewhere to express the maternal energy.
She says she's super proud of what Aldis has achieved, though she misses playing maternal with him as well.
She keeps referring to Sophie as herself and has a little moment in the middle where she says she's having trouble distinguishing, which is super cute.
Gina loves Parker's mentor arc. She and Beth like doing little physical bits together. The actors get food on set and think out how far into the food the characters are - the writers trust them, which is unusual and feels like a privilege because often productions don't let them change the words.
"There are no trumpets in Leverage as far as the story arcs. There are just little beats here and there, and I feel very lucky to play that stuff."
The actors improv-ved a lot more because there was no writers' room and no writers on set because of COVID. (The original show always had the writer on set.)
Gina screamed and "jumped up and down like a Beatles fan" when she got the call that they were thinking about getting the gang back together. She knew the fans were still into it after so many years but hadn't heard any murmurings before she got the news.
She always saw Leverage as a family show and didn't necessarily think it was on early enough for families during its original run. She says that we're watching shows much more cross-generationally because of the pandemic, and she thinks Redemption on the platform it is now is much more conducive to that.
There were 15 people on Gina's whole flight to the US because of the pandemic. It was lonely shooting in New Orleans because they were so isolated for COVID (and she goes into the regulations they had on set to keep people safe).
She tried to play Sophie's grief in a way that was not all-consuming. She sees Sophie as someone trying to find her new place in the world and redefine her life.
The podcaster sees Nate's death for Sophie as one of the sacrifices of being a con artist, that you can have love but it's short-lived. Gina likes that concept, because everyone on the crew is a likable rogue, but they also spent many years working in isolation with very high stakes.
Christian
Christian found out about Leverage: Redemption when Dean told him to stop cutting his hair when he was working on Almost Paradise in the Philippines.
First career stories! He learned guitar for a role so that he could sing for his first acting role he earned. The song he sang was "Fast Car".
"I started my music career and my acting career on the very same day."
"[Acting] was the only thing I could do." He has nightmares about never coming to LA for his career.
He was a wrestler out of Oklahoma, and there wasn't much to do in his town. Fighting was one of them. He wanted to be Steve McQueen and do his own fights.
"Let's be honest. I'm getting older...[fighting] is a dance. It's a dance that two people have to do really really well."
He was allowed to do his own fights on Angel because he was expendable. If he got hurt, they'd kill him off.
Choreographing fights during the pandemic meant everyone was tested 3 times a week. Dean Devlin bought their own setup so that they wouldn't make the health industry in Louisiana lag. He got COVID in December, but no one else on the set got COVID. It was an okay situation, but he felt like he let Dean down. They wore masks during choreography as well.
They couldn't cook because of COVID - otherwise Gina would have had Christian's sandwiches back in her life.
They're going to bring back Kane's Kitchen!
He's competing with Freddy Prinze Jr over whose food can reach the most people.
He talks about the difference between California Mexican food and Tex-Mex.
New music coming out! He's been writing music. There's a cute joke where he talks about not being that old but he and his friends are playing dads.
He misses playing music for charity in London. It's hard to book gigs right now because of COVID. Gina misses Christian playing gigs while they were filming.
Discussion about challenges in the music industry and Christian's particular intersection with acting/country/rock. He talks about how much he loves Kaniacs! <3
Eliot's the one constant coming back to the show. Everyone else has new outfits. He says there is no road to redemption for Eliot, which seems to make it sound like they're sticking to the "at equilibrium with being damned" character track they were on before.
"Everyone's a thief, a hacker...we forget that Eliot's almost a serial killer...he's probably going to be the one who keeps doing this for the rest of his life, and he's never going to find redemption." He talks about how there are good moments with Noah about this...how it's suggested Eliot's finding redemption by helping other people find their redemption.
"We want people to feel comfortable. We want them to feel like these are the same people you grew up with in your home. We also want to be new and flashy and fresh."
He mentions how great The Bucket Job is and how great having Beth direct was!
"The fans are what made this happen. It wasn't us...[the fans] kept going all these years."

Spotlight: Ties That Bind
This one’s a doozy folks! If you missed the last spotlight you can go read it here, but strap in for The Ties That Bind, an absolutely brilliant take on humanformers. It’s hosted here at @tiesthatbind-tf created by @artsy-hobbitses!
Tumblr media
Q) Give us a run down of your cont! What's it about, what's it called, what's it like?
Ties That Bind is a humanformers-based original continuity which is part Science Fiction and part Alternate History where the invasion of Quintessons and introduction of their technology to Earth in 1920 sets the world and humankind on a completely different trajectory. The active narrative spans a period from 1920 to 2070, covering the First and Second Quintesson Wars, the interplanetary Antillan War (leading to the creation of Unicron on Mars) and the Great War which involves the Autobots, Decepticons and Functionist stalwarts, and how it affects the characters.
The cast is pretty sprawling and the narrative is mostly centred around human drama with bits of humor interspaced and a dash of horror (mostly centred around how the previous government often chose to utilize the technology left behind from the Quintesson Wars to create new systems of oppression, which affected many of the characters, in the name of worldwide rebuilding efforts).
Q) What characters take the lead here? Any personal favorites?
Tumblr media
I will admit to this continuity being very much heavy on the relationship between Old Bastards  Optimus Prime and Megatron, which is given considerable weight as they were best friends who had known each other since childhood and were deeply intrinsic to each other’s growths as individuals, which makes it all the worse when guilt and betrayal enter the party. Despite being captains in two corners of this battle, there’s a part of them that just cannot let go of their pasts together and they need to reconcile with how this will affect their agenda (Megatron) and how they lead their team (Optimus) who don’t necessarily share their history.
Other characters with significant development include:
Starscream, a Cold Construct in a toxic working relationship with Megatron with whom he is hiding a dark secret, who struggles to balance the underhanded viciousness he believes he needs to gain power and his innate desire from his Senate days to make the world a better place.
Windblade, a Camien native who fights her government’s apathy concerning the situation on Earth which they see as unsalvageable compared to their more Utopian society.
Prowl, a Cold Construct raised from childhood to be a cop in a police state, who finds out that he was brainwashed several times  to ensure his obedience and efficacy as a government asset and is now working to reclaim some semblance of the humanity he was never allowed to feel and figure out how much of him is who he really is and how much is programming.
Hound, a sheltered Beastman who joined the fight to ensure that Beastmen the world over would have the same rights he did in his homeland of Shetland Isle, but is forcefully stripped of his humanity and faced with his animal side during the war and has to relearn what personhood means amid his trauma.
Q) Is there a bigger point to this, like a theme or some catharsis? Or is it just fluffy fun?
God with the amount of time I spent sleepless trying to figure out how the logistics of this or the semantics of that were supposed to work in universe, I cannot for the life of me say it’s fluffy fun, but I can’t exactly say it hasn’t been pretty engaging either!
There’s elements of war being messy for everyone involved where there doesn’t seem to be a clear line between friend and foe at times, but I think for most part it prescribes to  Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s belief that people are inherently good, but are corrupted by the evils of society. Despite its dark themes (Including but not limited to child abuse, torture, illegal experimenation  and brainwashing), love and friendships do prevail, kindness does beget kindness, found families are made, even the smallest actions matter, and things do get better because there are people on both sides who genuinely want to, and strive to make it better.
With Cold Constructs and Beastmen, it also delves heavily into what it means to be human; to have agency and personhood.
There’s also a strong undercurrent of taking responsibility for one’s actions, even if they were made with the best of intentions (Avoidance of this is what eats up Starscream and Megatron from the inside, and what Starscream eventually embraces).
Q) How long have you been working on it?
There’s two answers to this!
I’ve had a Humanformers-related universe going all the way back to 2007 around the time the first Bayformers came out---basically I had a choice between learning to draw cars or draw people (I was an anthro artist back then) and I immediately chose people.
The 2007 draft however had no worldbuilding or connective storylines and was mostly a fun little venture into character design and practice which were actually instrumental to me experimenting and learning how to draw humans properly.
I left the fandom for about a decade and when I came back to it in late 2020 around September via the War for Cybertron series on Netflix, I immediately got hooked on the 2005 IDW comics I missed out on and wanted to get around to updating my old designs as well find a way to translate several of the concepts I wanted to explore in a human sense, so the 2020 update became its own full-fledged original continuity with detailed worldbuilding and history.
You can see the artistic evolution of several characters from their original incarnation below!

Q) It’s incredible to see your artistic improvement too! Give us a behind-the-scenes look! Show us a secret ;))
Tumblr media
Say hello to my workspace! I’ve been working exclusively on the Ipad Pro since late 2016, which is fantastic because I can basically whip up concepts and sketches on the go anywhere. Nowhere is too out of bounds to work on TTB!
Tumblr media
Also, do enjoy this sneak peek at true!form Rung, whose synthezoid human body took years to perfect.
Q) YESSSSS alright I must admit this is one of my favorite Rungs, and certainly my fave within TTB. Amazing. Phew, anyway. Where did you draw inspiration from? What canons, what other fiction, what parts of real life?
Tumblr media
TTB was initially conceived as a faithful retelling of the IDW 2005 narrative before it was transformed into its own continuity and as such, it borrows heavily from concepts and mirrored plot lines introduced in that run! I chose to have the series inspired off it specifically for the amount of history and worldbuilding it introduced to the franchise.
Anime like Gunslinger Girl and Beastars inspired the depictions of Cold Constructs, especially the more harrowing aspects of their upbringing as government assets instead of children, and Beastmen (Beastformers) in TTB.
I haven’t depicted the world itself in my art all too much, but the architecture from Tiger and Bunny, which has sort of a futuristic Art Deco feel to it, is what you’d usually see in major cities. There is an in-universe reason for that---with a Point Of Divergence set in 1920 followed by 25 years (an entire generation) of progress basically being kicked to the curb due to the Quintesson wars, mankind was basically in a time-locked bubble until the end of the wars, and by then their heroes were 1920s-style rebellion leaders, which lead to 1920s fashion (especially among the Manual Working Class---Megatron, Jazz and Optimus all rock 1920s fashion at some point of their lives) and architecture being celebrated and retained as sort of a reminder of how things were before The Invasion. This anime’s background design is also where I adopted the tiered system TTB’s major metropolises are often built on (with each tier being designated to a different working class) from.
The main artistic style itself is a love letter to 90s cartoons, in particular Gargoyles’ deep and drama-driven character narratives and designs as well as The Centurions’ take on body armor logistics.
Tumblr media
I also take inspiration, especially armor-wise, from the characters’ given heritage and background. As an example, Hotrod who is depicted as Irish has the flames on his armor done up with Celtic knots. Welsh aristocrat Mirage’s armor bears olden knight-style filigree and has his Autobot logo designed as a coat of arms. Indonesian Soundwave’s armor and Decepticon logo takes cues from Batik and Wayang Kulit while their mask is based off the Barong.
Tumblr media
Q) They are absolutely gorgeous! Show off something you're really proud of, a particular favorite part of your cont.
The worldbuilding in general! Most Humanformers I’ve seen tend to treat it like a fun exercise which it is and is definitely valid, but I found myself wanting a full-fledged world to lose myself in and I sought to try and make that world myself by drafting a detailed history and timeline of events which would affect ongoing narratives, having indepth worldbuilding to include almost all societal aspects of the universe and  expanding on the concept of Beastmen and Cold Constructs existing in a human setting.
I’m not so secretly proud of the research and diversity included to make the cast look like the multicultural, globally-based team that they were meant to be instead of being locked to a single region! My original draft from 2007 was, to put it simply, quite culturally monolithic and I wanted to improve on that aspect with TTB.
I’m also proud that I’ve kept to it this far! I’m a notoriously flaky person jumping from one idea/fandom to another and to have kept at this continuity for the better part of ten months is honestly a personal feat.
Art-wise, this scene depicting a young Megatron working alongside Terminus and Impactor (cameo by @weapon-up-wallflower‘s OC Missit!)  is definitely one of my favorites since it helps build up the world they live in and plays to familial bonds and comfort found in one another despite their less than ideal circumstances.
Tumblr media
Q) Everything has come together so beautifully, you absolutely should be proud. What other fan canons do you love and why? Would you like to see them interviewed?
I am dying to hear more from @iscaredspider’s Sparkpulse continuity! Her designs are MIND-BLOWINGLY GORGEOUS and I want to hear more about what inspired her to work on it!
Also YOU. Yes YOU BLURRITO. LET ME HEAR MORE ABOUT SNAP.
Q) [wails and squirms away in the mortifying ordeal of being known but in a very flattered way] I WILL SOMEDAY I PROMISE aflghsdjg thank you QwQ
Well that was fantastic, Oni, thank you muchly! A magnificent continuity with so much to look forward to! Coming up next is another personal fave of mine, the first inspiration for SNAP, so stick around...
