Affection (How do they show their affection? What love language(s) do they use?)
Chaeyoung’s main love language is gift-giving - whether it’s art, lyrics, or a more tangible gift, she’s always got something thoughtful to give to you. Even if it’s as simple as a small trinket or matching phone cases, she loves to get stuff for you.
Beauty (What do they admire about their S/O? What makes their S/O beautiful?)
If you’ve got tattoos, she definitely has given them a second glance on multiple occasions, and she has run her fingertips over the ink whenever she needs to think or clear her head (as if you don’t distract her enough already). She also admires your independence when it comes to getting what you want out of life.
Comfort (How would they help their S/O if they were having a rough day?)
Chaeyoung lets you listen/read to some of her unreleased songs and music, especially if they’re about you, in order to cheer you up. She also likes to wrap her arms around you and bury her head in your back because you deserve to feel protected and loved.
Dreams (How do they picture their future with their S/O?)
Chaeyoung imagines you two living relatively remotely - in your own world, away from the prying eyes of others. Of course, that’s not entirely possible, so you settle on a small house a bit outside of a city center so she can have you (mostly) to herself while you can still enjoy life in and out of the city.
Equal (Do they tend to be more dominant or passive in the relationship?)
She’s more of a quiet dominant type - not the one you’d expect to be dominant on the first go. Chaeyoung plans dates and takes the lead in your relationship, but she doesn’t do it in an authoritative way. She takes your likes, dislikes, and opinions into consideration when she’s making plans for the two of you. She’s the first to initiate affection, too, although she can get a bit flustered if things get a little heated between the two of you.
Fight (Would they easily forgive their S/O after a fight? How would a typical fight go?)
She’s another member that I don’t see getting into verbal altercations with their partners. You and Chaeyoung may get into an argument and it may get intense, but one of you walks away before you say something that you regret. She’s usually the first to call you and ask if you’re ready to talk or if you need more time, and she’s open to either option.
Gratitude (How grateful are they for everything that their S/O does for them?)
She’s super polite, especially when it comes to your sweet actions towards her. Always says thank you when you buy her lunch or a small trinket that reminds you of her. She also likes to repay the favor with affection, dates, or buying things for you as well.
Honesty (Do they tend to keep secrets from their S/O, or do they share everything?)
Chaeyoung isn’t a secretive person, but it takes a while for her to open up about everything. She is an open book when your relationship with her deepens, so feel free to ask her about anything because she’ll happily tell you about it.
Inspiration (Did their S/O change them, or was it the other way around?)
Chaeyoung inspires you - she can sing, dance, rap, draw, write lyrics… it’s hard to not admire her abilities. You’re always there to support her whenever she needs you the most.
Jealousy (Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?)
Chaeyoung does get jealous, but it takes her less time to step in and deal with the situation. She doesn’t mind wrapping an arm around your waist if someone gets a little too close for her comfort, or if they really aren’t getting the hint, a pet name or kiss on the lips will do.
Kiss (How often do they kiss you? Where do they like to kiss you?)
She loves to kiss you on the lips - they are short and sweet as a simple way to show affection. She also likes longer kisses where the two of you can get lost in each other. Chaeyoung doesn’t mind kissing your hand as a way to fluster you, but she gets flustered if you do the same back to her.
Lazy Day (How do they like to spend days off with their S/O?)
Chaeyoung likes to spend her days off at home with you. Even if you’re not in the same room or if you’re not doing something together, simply being in your presence is enough to relax her mind.
Marriage (Do they want to get married? How often do they think about marrying their S/O?)
Chaeyoung likes the idea of marrying you as a next step in your relationship, but she won’t force you into anything. Small conversations here and there will help gauge your interest in marriage, and she moves forward from there.
Nicknames (What do they call their S/O?)
Babe, baby, love, my muse
More modern nicknames are Chaeyoung’s preferences, but the last one is your phone contact name (her members tease her about this all of the time).
On Cloud Nine (What are they like when they are in love? Is it extremely obvious to others?)
Chaeyoung is a creative being, so her creative output explodes when the two of you are together. Her more romantic art comes forward with new life like no one has seen before. She also gets red in the face whenever your name is mentioned, so it’s pretty obvious that she’s head over heels for you.
PDA (Are they very upfront with their relationship, or do they prefer to keep things quiet?)
Chaeyoung doesn’t really mind PDA - it’s all up to you. If you’re comfortable with more PDA, she’s happy to kiss you in public. If you’re not, well, she gets all of you to herself at home.
Quirk (Some random personality trait that makes them an excellent partner.)
Chaeyoung likes to go with the flow of everything, so she’s an agreeable person to get along with. You tend to put her preferences above all, but she always has your comfort, safety, and affection in mind whenever she makes decisions.
Romance (Are they a born romantic ready to woo their S/O at any moment, or do they struggle to spark romantic moments with their S/O?)
Chaeyoung is a hidden born romantic - she doesn’t often display it in front of others, but when she’s in the mood for romance, you’re in for a treat. She isn’t the old-fashioned type of romantic, but she does buy your flowers and sweets if you’re having a rough day or if you need a pick-me-up.
Support (How do they help support their S/O to reach their goals?)
Chaeyoung supports you with her words. A gentle good luck, a sweet text on a rough day, or an end of day phone call is enough to motivate you to keep moving towards your goals.
Thrill (Do they like trying out new things to spice up their relationship, or do they prefer to stick to a routine?)
Chaeyoung likes to try new things with the two of you - new date nights especially. She doesn’t worry about them going well or not - it’s not about the experience for her, but the person she is with.
Understanding (How well do they know their partner?)
Chaeyoung understands you perfectly - you compliment each other as partners, after all. She can read your body language well and tell when you’re not feeling well, sometimes before you understand what’s going on yourself.
Value (How important is the relationship to the person versus other relationships and things in their life?)
Chaeyoung values your relationship just as much as she values her crafts and talents. She treats you with love and respect, as do you. Your relationship is one of the best parts of her life, and Chaeyoung doesn’t want to spoil that.
Wild Card (A random fluffy headcanon that you have about the relationship?)
Chaeyoung, the semi-romantic lyricist, has you as the focus of her writing at times. Sometimes you’ll appear in her drawings, but most of the time, your presence is felt in her lyrics.
XOXO (Do they like to kiss, hug, and cuddle you? How often do they do so?)
Chaeyoung loves to cuddle with you after a long day of work. She often kisses and hugs you, as much as you’ll allow her to, because it’s one of her favorite ways to show affection to you.
Yearning (How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?)
She sends you a lot of texts, calls you, and video chats with you if you’re available. She does go on with day-to-day life, but she wants to have you there, as much as you can be, while you’re away.
Zeal (Are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind?)
Although she might not say it, Chaeyoung would burn literal bridges for you. Of course, you’d do the same for her, which only makes her more willing to put herself on the line for you.

Buddy Daddies interview with Ayase
Interview with Ayase (musical artist for the opening theme, SHOCK!)
Interviewer: What impression did you have of the series "Buddy Daddies", which features "SHOCK!" as its opening?
Ayase: When I first received the basic rundown of the series, I thought, "This girl's (Unasaka Miri's) level of cuteness is going to be really essential when it gets animated." And then I actually saw the footage, and Miri was absolutely adorable.
Interviewer: Did the anime production staff have any specific instructions for the composition of the song?
Ayase: They didn't really request anything specific. Just that since it's meant to be an anime opening song, they'd like something more fast-paced, rather than mellow... That was the vibe they were going for, and it was what I had in mind as well.
Interviewer: How did the worldview and atmosphere of the series inspire your ideas for the song?
Ayase: I knew that the plot of the series was the protagonists parenting, and so I wanted to use that as one of the themes of the song - the part where they confront the question of "love", and find themselves steadily changing. But in fact, this song isn't entirely about the series itself; it's connected to the series, but it addresses the themes of what I've personally experienced in life, and my feelings about the responsibility of loving others.
Interviewer: And is that also what inspired the title "SHOCK!"...?
Ayase: When you're emotionally devastated, or when you've turned away from precious feelings like romantic love, you suddenly meet someone who has a huge influence on your mindset and your way of life. The title is connected to the anime storyline, but it also expresses that sort of tremendous effect. "SHOCK!" is meant to literally convey that impact.
Interviewer: Is there anything you were especially concerned with when creating the song?
Ayase: I'm usually part of a group called YOASOBI, where I have the role of composer - I focus exclusively on songwriting. But YOASOBI's central concept is "making novels into music", which means I'm always drawing inspiration from other people's stories and sentiments for my own writing. So I inevitably come up with a lot of songs that have strong narratives and thematic messages.
This time, I was inspired by "Buddy Daddies" as well, but since I was performing it as a solo vocalist, I wanted the phrasing of the lyrics to also reflect my own personal tastes to some extent. I was trying to make something that would be easy listening, and could be enjoyed with no constraints. But when I say "easy", I don't mean I didn't put any effort into it. What I mean is that I wanted people to enjoy it simply, and so I kept things simple and loose as well. It doesn't carry any sort of deep message - rather, it's about the fleeting doubts that surface as I go through life, the feelings I have for people who are kind to me, and the casual thoughts I have on a daily basis. I took all those things and focused on putting them into words. I couldn't have done this if I wasn't releasing it as a solo artist.
Interviewer: I guess it's different when you're performing the vocals yourself.
Ayase: I just thought, "Man, singing sure is fun." (laughs) I'm also a Vocaloid producer, so when I compose songs for other artists, I often send them a Vocaloid demo with Hatsune Miku first. But since I was performing this song myself, I recorded the demos with my own voice right from the start. I explored my comfort zone as I sang, and I had a lot of fun striving for the best results.
Interviewer: Please tell us how you felt when you saw the opening sequence accompanied by "SHOCK!"
Ayase: I usually picture scenes in my head while composing, and since I'd gotten to see the "Buddy Daddies" character designs, I had thoughts of "it would be cool if they put in a shot like this at this point", or "that might be interesting". And I think it turned out incredibly close to what I had in mind. Of course, I didn't say anything like "I'd love an opening like this", so it's not like they were trying to reflect my preferences, but I could tell that they crafted the footage while taking into account the song's intent and atmosphere. So it made me very happy to watch it.
Interviewer: Is there anything you keep in mind when working on tie-in songs - not just the one for "Buddy Daddies"?
Ayase: Different musicians and artists all approach songwriting with different mindsets, and there will be more tie-in songs in future - for anime, commercials, and so on - but when I'm lucky enough to be chosen, I always want them to come away thinking, "I'm glad I worked with Ayase." That's my top priority, and I think that's how it should be.
I said just now that I produced this song simply and loosely, according to my own tastes, but I still thought carefully about the series. I want people to feel that I have a strong sense of professionalism and am producing work that no one else could do. Not just for anime, but for other tie-in songs as well - I don't just want to make cool songs. I understand that I've been called on for a certain purpose, so I want to create the best work I possibly can. That's why I give it my all, every single day.
Interviewer: How has the public reaction to "SHOCK!" been?
Ayase: When I release songs as part of my regular YOASOBI activity, or when a tie-in series gets broadcast, I'm usually very curious about the public reception. So I check online almost right away. But this time, since I was singing the song myself, I couldn't quite bear to see the reaction. Plus when the anime first started airing, I was really too busy to be on social media much. Honestly, I'm kind of scared to vanity-search myself this time. I've just been getting LINE messages from my family and close friends, saying things like "it's good", and of course that's a huge relief. As a vocalist, I still haven't built up a resistance to public reactions, so if anyone says anything mean I'll probably cry. (laughs)
Interviewer: Please tell us what you think are the selling points of this series "Buddy Daddies".
Ayase: It's got lots of comedic elements and lighthearted scenes, but the serious parts are also legitimately serious. And that also makes the comical bits stand out all the more - it's like a fun black comedy. It kind of has the vibe of a foreign series, and that's an interesting aspect I haven't really seen before.
Interviewer: Finally, please give a message to everyone who is enjoying this series.
Ayase: To all the viewers watching "Buddy Daddies" every week, I hope you enjoy both the opening sequence and the song "SHOCK!" Thank you so much for everything!

thank you to anon for your support <3
if anyone else wants a match up this is our ko-fi
your dmc 5 match up is..... V!!
Tumblr media
SFW
V is as unique as they get being that the others find him a bit weird and mysterious. He’ll spit out haikus randomly. Like once you both went to an archery range and before starting he goes, “The eye sees target. Breathe, let the mind feel the shot. Arrow flies to spot”
Your foreign accent is very attractive to V. He gazes at your lips often as you speak (which is a rarity he cherishes) and gives you kisses when you’re done.
Partakes in all of your hobbies with you happily since they are peaceful. Many of your dates together will be relaxing and calming, be it walking around and taking in the landscape or painting.
V was walking around when he was drawn to a lovely street performer, playing a melancholic song. The lyrics spoke to him and he stopped by to listen. You were nearby, and were intrigued by this performer’s song as well. When the song ended, you both went to tip the musician. Your eyes met briefly, and he smiled. “Beautiful song, who is it by?” He asked, looking towards the musician. You blurted out the answer before the singer could, thanks to your wide expertise. V nodded appreciatively, and walked with you as you both turned away from the musician, engaging you in conversation about music. You found it easy to talk to him since the topic was of your interest but soon the conversation flowed to personal topics and you became fast friends with the man. After a few months of hanging out as friends, neither of you could deny your budding feelings for each other and soon began dating.
V would appreciate your art, he is introspective and a poet. You would be inspired by his poetry and he would be inspired by your art.
"Your art captures the essence of the shadows, Y/N," V sometimes remarked while you were deep in thought sketching, his eyes fixed on your drawing. You were caught off guard by the unexpected compliment, blushed but managed a shy grin. "Th-thank you, V. I, uh, try my best." Leaning against the bookshelf with an air of nonchalant elegance, V responded with a dry chuckle. "Well, your 'best' is quite the masterpiece, a symphony of shadows and silence. Almost as poetic as my familiars." More at ease now, you laughed softly. "I'll take that as a compliment, considering your familiars are the embodiment of your aesthetic."
You and V are both quiet. You both would spend hours listening to music together, while you draw and he sits by you with his head buried in a book, lifting his head once in a while to make a witty remark on the music choice, gently enjoying each other’s companionship.
V is a tall boy although not a strong boy. When he would misplace his walking stick, he would use your head as a handrest for balance since its the perfect height.
V gives off a mystical vibe, he would definitely burn some sage and light some candles with you while wearing his little hippie sandals.
V would advise you to not bottle up your emotions too much and try to deal with them as they come and go. He is an introspective man with the wisdom of the poets. He knows to appreciate the beauty of emotions as a part of his humanity.
NSFW
At first, V would not be that amazing at painting, but he is talented for sure. As you both paint, he keeps getting better. He’d totally paint you naked and hang it in your shared bedroom as a memento.
You can always tell V is horny by how heavy his breathing gets, you can watch his chest rise and fall rapidly. His pants also visibly grow tighter as he trembles to stand, that man is after a part of Vergil waiting to go feral.
He puts your pleasure first before his, and loves eating you out. He eats you like he’s never had a meal before, he loves licking your clit and sucking on your folds with his thick lips.
V loves restraining you using his walking stick, he pulls you closer unexpectedly using it. And sometimes teases your entrance with it by positioning it between your legs when you’re standing next to him.
V likes it when you trace his tattoos after sex, the beads of sweat along with the thick lines of the patterns on his body. It soothes him, as he would subtly place your hand on his flaccid cock leading to a handjob.
V cums a lot, he always pulls out and likes to cum on your chest. He doesn’t want to risk having children, especially with his weak state. He enjoys watching strings of semen land on your breasts and stomach.
Sometimes V would make Griffon scout an area before getting down on his knee to ask you to have sex with him in public. It probably be a park behind a tree where you ride him and he humps you from beneath, to not put stress on his legs.
V loves to suck on your breasts and kiss you during sex. It brings him a sense of intimacy and he gets to be close to you aside from his cock penetrating.
He can feel very weak and tired after ejaculating. The strenuous activity itself leaves him feeling like he’s fading, so he relies on you to cuddle him and get him up and about again.
V loves it when you moan his name out loud and in pleasure, it makes him feel remembered knowing he is going to be gone soon and become one with his other half. But even then he reassures you that as Vergil he will never forget you and your memories and will come back.

Omg could you do that “chronic” headcanon but with grog, pike and scanlan? As someone with chronic pain I absolutely loved the other headcanons💕💕💕
Chronic (pt 2)
It is always easier to fall asleep with their arms around you. The request from the original post: are you still accepting headcanon requests ? if yes, please can I request having an s/o who has pain issues due to an old injury and struggles to sleep alone? with Percy, Vax and Vex if possible 🥺
Grog, Pike & Scanlan x Reader
Fandom: The Legend of Vox Machina/ Critical Role
Format: Headcanons
Gender Neutral Reader
Masterlist
I'm glad you enjoyed!! -Finn
Grog
You have never met a man who is a better cuddler. His arms are gigantic in order to hold you properly, he gives off heat like a furnace, and he is essentially an oversized teddy bear.
There is nothing more comforting than falling asleep wrapped up in his arms while he sleepily tells you about the latest fight he was in.
Depending on the nature of your pain, he may have advice that can help! He has taken more hits than he can count, and he hasn't always had people around that can heal them magically.
Look at the size of his hands and tell me he doesn't give the best massages. You would be lying. Sit in front of him and tell him about your day while he gives you a massage, he will be perfectly content.
He definitely has the desire to coddle you a lot when the pain gets too bad, but if you tell him to give you your space, he will. When he comes back, he will have some of your favorite food. This is the compromise.
Pike
Pike wishes so desperately that she could just fix the pain as she does with the party's injuries. There's some part of her brain that feels that if she can't help the person she loves the most, then what are her powers even for?
She makes up for this by looking into everything that might help you deal with the pain. Magical or mundane remedies, whatever you tell her helps you.
Falling asleep in your arms is something she really cherishes. It reminds her that you're safe and it gives her somewhere to feel safe herself.
She will stay up late just quietly chatting with you while you both fall asleep. Trading stories and laughing in a sleep-heavy voice.
Pike runs warm, and with the way she cuddles close to you, it's like having a heater in bed with you. It's incredible on cold nights.
Scanlan
"I"ve got something to take your mind off of it, baby" You have heard him say this far too often. It is his go to response and it is always accompanied with the most over dramatic, sleezy, wink.
He actually loves being able to just hold you though, so despite all the awful jokes he will make if you ask him to stay the night with you, he will relish the chance to cuddle with you if that's all it is.
Scanlan is the type to just draw shapes on your skin when you're laying with him. If you pay attention, you'll sometimes notice that he's tracing letters. Either sappy little messages for you or dirty pickup lines.
Lay on his chest and listen to him hum, it adds years to your life and it'll make him blush if you tell him how much you enjoy it. (Genuine sap and affection just does him in every time.)
The only problem of sleeping curled up with Scanlan is that he will sometimes shoot up to write down lyrics or music. Inspiration strikes as it will. He does his best not to disturb you.

PLS READ ORV RIGHT NOW IM BEGGING YOU
I'm not good at explaining, so here's a post on what orv is about:
Tl;dr my reading experience and how orv changed the trajectory of my life (if you even care °^°)
the chokehold this novel has on me is not to be understated, like, this usually doesn't happen often because I'm so picky with what media i consume but...ORV.
Idk what happened to me but i felt like i was possessed while reading orv, like, i would be staying up all night and forgetting to eat or drink. It'd be the only thing I'd do everyday, i didn't open any other app unless I needed to.
I literally even read it at school every time a lesson requires me to bring an electronic device (LIKE KDJ SNEAKING OFF TO THE JANITOR'S CLOSET AND SECRETLY USING HIS COUSIN'S LAPTOP TO READ TWSA OMG)
NOW I CAN'T ESCAPE FROM ORV. ITS STUCK IN MY HEAD SAVE ME!!!!
After neglecting art for almost 2 years, i picked it up again just so i could draw orv. It was also the first time i was confident about sharing my art
All my socmed platforms are used solely to share my love for orv, it was the first time i was ever so open. I write about my thoughts on orv everywhere I go, I listen to music and subconsciously try to figure out if the lyrics remind me of orv, i keep comparing every other piece of fiction to orv (im always convinced orv did it better, orv out here setting the standard)
IM PRETTY SURE I MADE A POWERSCALE CHART OF KDJ'S STORIES AT SOME POINT LMAOOO
Everything is orv to me, i can't stop 😭
Literally everyone that's close to me KNOWS im obsessed with orv. HELL, i made a short film inspired by orv (the relationship between a writer and a reader) (its for a school project)
This was the first time I've ever recommended my dad a piece of fiction, my parents don't usually know my interests (it went: PLS READ IT. NOW. ITS SO GOOD PLS) (he didn't)
I think about orv every waking and sleeping moment i dont wanna stop obsessing over orv PLS I NEVER WANNA FALL OUT OF LOVE. My world revolves around orv, i love all the characters, the story, the message, EVERYTHING.
In conclusion, read orv. I cry myself asleep every night thinking about kimcom. I love them and i love the story to bits I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. I'm sure this isn't just me but a lot of others too.

Tips on Writing a Book
(From a writer who's nearly complete with the novel they're writing.) These are opinions/tips that have helped me.
1.) Create a vague outline.
Don't spend too much time on writing out the details of the novel. World-build, create the characters, set up basic themes, and plot. I feel like the best writing comes through when you do minimal outlining. When I began writing The Vigil Experiment, I barely had an outline. I wrote the first chapter on a whim and it felt like the main protagonist was talking to me. It was not until later chapters (5/6) that I started outlining and plotting. I had a clear plot in my mind that I wanted to get down on paper, ensuring that I could identify any plot holes during the editing process. People may disagree with me because they believe it will make the plot sloppy, but that's not always the case. If you know how you want the book to end and the lessons it'll teach, then you have a basic outline. From there, you can write. I like to write with the flow, then put in more plot details through an outline after writing a few chapters into the book. This is just what helps me get my creativity going :)
2.) Practice. Practice. Practice.
People may not believe me when I say the key to writing is practicing it. What do I mean by that? Write short stories! Whether it's fan fics or essays for school, anything that can enhance your writing is worth exploring! Although I don't do it as often as I should, I can't help but notice how much my writing style improves every time I write an essay for college. (Using new vocabulary and transitions that make my writing easier to comprehend. It improves my prose.) I used to write short stories about characters I made up a while ago that have helped me tremendously when it comes down to writing. Practice folks!
3.) Listening to music.
Put on some Luke Hemmings or 5sos related and I'll write for hours. The inspiration music gives me is incredible. Writing a sad scene? Alright, put on some Billie Ellish. The aurora around music has captivated me to write even more. A lot of my inspiration draws from music, not just lyrically. It's the vibe of the music that uplifts me to weave words into sentences in my tales. It's so nice.
4.) Avoid distractions.
This is inevitable, as some of us are prone to get distracted. (Me) To minimize distractions, I turn on do not disturb on my phone for a few hours and put away everything that takes my focus off of my book. Remember to take breaks and be kind to yourself. It's okay to get distracted and wander away sometimes, but don't forget to stay focused on your goal.
5.) Don't edit your first draft. Go with the flow.
I had done this mistake, and I still do it occasionally, but I stop myself before I indulge in it. It's so easy to get lost in edits while reading back while writing. If you continue to do this, you'll never reach the end of the book. Trust me, I know from experience—it took me months just to finish three chapters.
6.) Rewrite IF needed.
If you realize that first or third person doesn't fit the narrative of your story, rewrite! Take your time and no rush to finishing your book. Only do this if you think certain perspectives are a better fit for your story.
7.) Take your time and have confidence in yourself.
Take your time and write at a pace that feels comfortable to you. Take your time and savor the journey instead of rushing towards the finish line! If it takes you years to finish writing a book because of the ups and downs of life, then embrace it! Trust in your writing abilities and avoid putting too much pressure on yourself!
8.) Promote early!
Another topic people may disagree with. The earlier you promote, the more opportunities you will have for success. Once you start outlining your book and have a clear idea of its content, begin promoting snippets and teasers to generate interest. Upload unedited snippets and your journey! I recently viewed a instgrammer whose book is in the works and they've been uploading unedited snippets and their journey of writing the book. Of course, keep it minimal to provide no spoilers, but provide a mini synopsis to captivate the audience in learning more about you and the book.
9.) Create Realatable Charchters.
This is very important! The process of character creation is what hooks people and keeps them engaged in your story. If there's a lot of development, they'll grow attached, especially if your character is relatable, someone the readers can see themselves in. It's my favorite part of the process because I get to observe people on social media and in real life. How can I get someone to relate to my character. I take notes, study behaviors, and even see likeable attributes in people for fictional characters. To help, I do character studies on fictional characters that people adore. Right now I'm doing a character study on Alastor and Lucifer from Hazbin Hotel. So far, this has helped me understand their personalities and analyze how they would respond and what actions they would take in certain situations. Lucifer, with his cunning nature, rarely loses his temper. Alastor, with his hands hidden behind his back and a constant smile on his face, maintains an air of deception to unsettle his enemies. The characters' body language tells the whole story. Lucifer's polite demeanor is evident in his use of phrases like "please," even during moments of frustration, suggesting his upbringing in Heaven. See, character studies can be influential, as you can implement some of these traits into your own. Just don't copy and paste characters, make them unique.
10.) Add as many scenes as you can think of and delete later.
Your first draft is your first draft for a reason. Go overboard, get creative! Get rid of scenes in the editing process.
11.) Have fun!
The most important step is to have fun. Make sure not to exhaust yourself with too much work. Immerse yourself in the boundless sea of creativity. If you start to feel fatigued or uninterested, take a break from your book and focus on something that brings you joy. Come back to it once you rediscover the joy it once brought you. Remember, you want to write and bring your words to life on the page.
Good luck with your novels and writing journeys! These tips are optional, so feel free to disregard them! I wanted to share these as a glimpse into my writing process, in case anyone was interested :)

Content info: Just a little drabble inspired by me having “Drive” on repeat since it came out on Spotify, idiots having a crush and driving around
Word count: 2443
Warnings: suggestive themes (I don’t actually know what that means but I’ve always wanted to say that), senseless driving (the planet is dying, Kids, take the fucking train)
Something about this, about driving through the night with Chan, the pulsating bass and tension between you, makes this one of the most intimate moments of your life.
Chan and you have been in the same friend circle for a while, but you’re not really close. He is sweet and intimidating at the same time, maybe because he’s so collected, so responsible, so hot or because he always wears black, that you don’t really try talking to him. You listen to him, though, because he is a fascinating person. You know he works in music production, and the way he talks about rhythm and melody and lyrics reminds you of magic – it seems like Chan is one of the initiated and allowing you glimpses into his world of alchemy.
So basically, you are not really friends with Chan, but he is best friends with Jisung, and you are best friends with Minho, and Minho and Jisung have the sort of friendship that could also be a passionate love affair if both of them didn’t insist they were straight, and that’s why you and Chan share a group chat, a social circle and often a few words, but not much more. Not that you wouldn’t like to share more with him, because honestly, you are kind of crushing on him.
It's late summer, and the heat is still holding your city captive, causing people to remain indoors or within reach of water all day and to only roam the streets at night. Your friend group is one of them; Felix made all of you – that is Chan, Jisung, Minho, Hyunjin, Changbin, him and you –  go to a late movie and then get ice cream afterwards. You’re sitting on benches in a park, listening to a busker, chatting, watching people flocking about even though it is well past 11 pm. The air is still stuffy, but bearable as you slowly lick your ice cream and listen to Jisung and Minho bicker over your head about this girl Jisung apparently likes and how to best talk to her.
“I really don’t see what’s so bad about going to her and saying, ‘Excuse me, noona, do you have a boyfriend?’,” Jisung argues.
Minho sighs. “Well, if you don’t want her to go out with you, I’d absolutely recommend that,” he says, exasperated. “What do you think, YN? Is that a good line?”
It really isn’t, but you don’t have the heart to tell Jisung, so you shrug and say, “If anyone could do it, it’s Jisungie,” winking at him. Your friend beams at you and throws an arm around you. “See, that’s why YNnie’s my favourite, Minho. I don’t even know why we call you Lee Know when you clearly don’t Lee Know.” He extends a fist to you to bump.
Minho stares daggers at you, and you shake your head. “Sorry, Sungie, but that was too bad even for me to support.”
Jisung draws his arm away as if stung, but Minho replaces it with his. “Good girl, YNnie,” he coos. “I knew your values still mostly aligned with mine.”
At that moment, Chan jumps up from the bench. “I think I’d like to call it a day now,” he announces. “You know how my creative hours tend to be after midnight.” He glances at Minho and Jisung. “Do you need a ride back?”
They both nod and get up, Minho pulling you along. “Can we take YNnie as well?” he asks. “I promised her I wouldn’t let her walk home alone so late, and she lives really close to your place, actually.”
“Thanks for talking about me as if I wasn’t here, punk,” you say, but Minho expertly sidesteps your slap. You really do prefer not walking home alone if you don’t have to.
Chan looks at you evenly with that nice but guarded expression of his. “Sure, no problem,” he says.
“Thanks,” you smile.
He nods, and then, after the short walk back to the parking garage, there’s lots of hugging as Hyunjin collects the rest of the group to drive them home.
You’ve never actually been inside Chan’s car, and you’re positively surprised. It’s black, obviously, and the inside could be dark grey but looks black in the weak light of the garage as well. It smells of him, you realise – of his deodorant and something spicy, like cinnamon, and it’s much cleaner than any of the other boys’ cars. Jisung insists you call shotgun as you’ll be the last to leave the car “and Chan hates playing Uber driver”, and so you find yourself next to Chan a few moments later as he first starts the music and then the car.
Jisung and Minho are still bickering in the backseat, and the two of you are quiet as Chan guides the car out of the subterranean garage and into the nightly traffic, which is already pretty scarce. A Conan Gray song is playing, which surprises you pleasantly, and you gently hum along. You can feel Chan glancing over at you, and as you glance back, he’s no longer looking at you, but smiling softly as he watches the street.
Jisung finally seems halfway convinced that his “Excuse me, noona, do you have a boyfriend?” line isn’t the best idea he’s ever had as Chan pulls into the driveway of his apartment building a few minutes later. Conan Gray winds down and is replaced by Frank Ocean, which has you nod appreciatively. This playlist fits the mood of a city that is asleep except for those who are staying awake to take back some of the quality the heat wants to steal from them.
Jisung thanks Chan with a slap on the shoulder, hugs your whole seat from behind and punches Lee Know on the shoulder before jumping out of the car, waving at you, and disappearing into the night. Minho sighs and leans back, only now noticing the music.
“Is that your night drive playlist again, hyung?” he asks, and you glance at Chan to see him blush slightly. “It might be,” he half admits before activating the turn signal. “Do you have to out me as a complete music nerd in front of YNnie?” You frown. You’ve never heard him use your nickname before. Or say your name at all, that you can remember. You like it. It sounds good in his voice.
“Chan, you’re not hiding the music nerd particularly well,” you say playfully, at which he snorts. “And I don’t think it’s something you should hide, either” you add more earnestly, which earns you another glance from him.
Minho sighs again, dramatically. “I am outnumbered by people who curate playlists for absurd situations,” he declares.
“There is nothing absurd about night drives” you exclaim at the same time Chan threatens, “I can always stop and let you walk home!” You look at each other and share a smile, a genuine one, and the way Chan’s dimples slowly appear is mesmerizing.
Your friend groans in the back seat. “Aigoo, the two of you really are a match made in heaven.” You don’t know what he means by that, and nobody wants to elaborate, so you are all quiet for the few moments it takes to reach Minho’s house.
When Chan stops, Minho jumps out, only to lean back in and shout, “Have a good night, you two,” before slamming the door and skipping away.
Chan shakes his head. “Thanking people is a concept that guy is not familiar with, is it?”
You shrug. “I know his mum tried.”
You are both sitting there, saying nothing for a moment, before you burst out: “Can I see your playlist?”
Chan hesitates for a second, then nods. “Since Minho mentioned you like absurd playlists, I’m ninety-two percent sure you will appreciate it.” He unlocks his phone and tosses it to you. You glance at his home screen for a second. “Aww, that’s us at the barbecue a few weeks ago,” you say happily, glancing at the selfie of the friend group in swimwear that was taken in early July at a lake. Chan just grunts as he starts the car again, and you open his Spotify to browse through the list.
“Oooh, I love that song,” you squeal, choosing “affection” by BETWEEN FRIENDS to follow Frank Ocean. The bass, the whimsical singing and the melancholic lyrics make it a perfect choice for this playlist and for driving through the summer night. You cue up “Cruel Summer” by Taylor Swift because it’s a mood and you’re delighted Chan would include it in his playlist – you stan a male Swiftie. “That’s such a good playlist, Chan,” you say, “Can I share it with myself?”
“Sure,” he says, not taking his eyes off the road, but you’re not getting unfriendly vibes from him. You pull up a messaging app and send yourself the link. “See, now we actually have a chat history,” you declare, and that is a little awkward, simply because you’ve been hanging out because of your shared friends for at least a year – shouldn’t you text sometimes?
“I’m glad,” Chan simply says as he switches lanes. Taylor Swift comes on, and he starts quietly singing along.
“I love that you’ve got Taylor on there,” you compliment, for lack of anything better to say.
He shrugs. “She is a damn good songwriter.”
And you’re both singing along again. Chan turns onto one of the main streets that snakes around all of the inner city, and there’s plenty of traffic here, and so many lights from advertisements. Still, inside of your dark car, it feels like you’re the only people in the world, a dark little boat in an ocean of artificial light.
“Tell me about your weird playlists,” he says quietly. You cringe a bit. “Promise you won’t laugh?”
“Pinkie promise.” He stops at a red light, so he can actually turn to you and hold out his pinkie to you. You grab it with yours, delighted by how small it looks next to his, and at the softness of his skin.
“I have one that is called “Songs for Sexual Tension Filled Dancing with your Enemies To Lovers Love Interest”.”
Chan starts laughing before he can hold himself back. “Hey!” you yell, but the traffic light switches back to green so you can’t very well hit him. “You promised,” you whine.
Your driver snorts. “Yeah, but I thought you were going to say something like “Eating Ice Cream in my Over-Knees on a Saturday Night like they do in Romcoms” and not some fantasy inspired slash fic foreplay stuff.”
You pause. “Both of those categories are oddly specific, Christopher.”
Awkward silence on his part.
“And the fact remains that you broke your promise.”
“What’s even on a sexual tension playlist?” Chan asks, trying to distract you.
You roll your eyes. “The Arctic Monkeys, of course. Why are you even asking?”
Chan points at his phone. “There are some of their songs on this playlist as well.”
You glance back onto his phone and choose one of them. The thumping bass and dirty guitar riffs begin reverberating through the enclosed space of the car. Chan starts singing along again, and the way he softly breathes “secrets I have held in my heart are harder to hide than I thought” has you thinking that you could fall in love with this man if you let yourself. This Chan, this past midnight, slightly sweaty T-shirt, unselfconsciously singing in the car Chan, is not intimidating. He is enchanting.
And the fact that he allows you to see him like this, so vulnerable, so himself, feels intimate in a way you don’t really have words for.
He interrupts himself. “Are you still mad I laughed at you?”
“Very,” you say, not meaning it at all.
Chan knows, because he smiles as he glances over at you. “How about we grab some takeout and drive around a bit more? I’m paying. And you can play me all the sexual tension music you like.” What does he even mean by that? Is he aware of what he’s doing to you?
You pretend to think hard, but then admit: “That sounds like a fair deal for breaking a pinkie promise, I would argue.”
Chan nods. “And I get to spend more time with you, so who’s the real winner here?”
You blush, and Chan meets your eye again to smile at you. You strike back: “Well, seems like you planned all of this anyway, given the fact that you haven’t even asked where I live yet.”
Now it’s his turn to blush. He clears his throat. “Okay, maybe I deserved that. Would you rather I took you home?”
On an impulse, you put a hand on his thigh. He slightly jumps, but puts his own hand on top of yours, his bigger one covering yours completely. “We ain’t stopping now,” you say decidedly.
Chan doesn’t react verbally, but his hand squeezes yours. “McDonald’s?”
You nod, and Chan turns off the main road, still holding your hand.
“YN?”
“Yeah?”
“You know – my home screen picture?”
You nod. “The one from the barbecue?”
Chan is quiet for a second. “That’s the only one I have of us together.”
His confession hits you kind of out of the blue, and you panic a little, because you say, “One of the lines Jisung wants to try on his noona is ‘I’m not a photographer, but I can picture me and you together.’”
Chan pulls his hand away, groaning. “That’s it, I’m abandoning my crush on you. Why would you say that!”
His… Crush on you? Could he be any more honest?
“Chan?”
He sighs. “Yeah?”
You gulp, but keep going. “I have a playlist called Crush Culture.”
He waits for you to go on.
“And… The image for it… Is your WhatsApp profile picture.”
Chan is quiet again before asking. “Are there any Arctic Monkeys on that playlist?”
You huff a laugh. “I Wanna Be Yours.”
Chan parks the car and then glances over at you. You only now realise that you’ve reached the McDonald’s closest to your house. “Crush activated again. But I’m not kissing you in a parking lot.”
You nod. “We stan a classy man.”
He bites his lip and shakes his head. “Let’s get some fries and then go somewhere else, okay?”
You smile. “Okay.”
You both get out of the car, and he carefully takes your hand. “Where do you live, by the way?” he asks as you’re walking towards the restaurant.
You grin. “I’m not telling you.”
Chan shrugs. “I’ll try again in an hour.”
You nod. “Try you may.”

Name: Icarus “Russ” Castellanos Species: Siren Occupation: Pizza Chef at Sly Slice Age: 26 Years Old Played By: Jake Face Claim: Brenton Thwaites
"Am I a monster? Or is this what it means to be a person?"
TW: Parental death
Icarus ‘Russ’ Castellanos is from a fierce, reclusive, and traditional siren colony along the northern coast of Newfoundland. His people hunt the fog covered seas for fisherman and adventurous sightseers in the wilderness of their island home in relative seclusion in their small town located deep in the woodlands of Terra Nova. Though Icarus was very different from his people. While it wasn’t uncommon to integrate within human cities, it was usually a means to an end, Feeding on human hearts. The young Icarus on his hunt found a homestead owned by an elderly couple, the two men musicians, one a singer/guitarist and the other a pianist. He’d often hide in the trees and tall grass and listen to their music for as long as they played. Taking keen interest in their strange instruments. Their songs and music were very unlike the birdsongs of his people and it enticed him.
So much did young Icarus’ curiosity grow that he began to sneak into the nearby town, adopting a disguise as a vagrant youth. Stopping by a diner with an old timey record player. He wasn’t fond of human food, but the waitress there always gave him free coffee, a treat he began to enjoy, the bitterness often staving off the craving for their beating hearts. He found joy in experiencing the culture of the humans. The vibrancies of their culture, the songs of their people, and the joy brought about by art and song. All of these things made Icarus’ heart full and he only wanted more. Yet his time in the city was incredibly lonely and with no place to stay he’d return to the woods and back to his people. He’d be lectured and scorned by his colony, told  that the only ‘enjoyment’ found from a human was in consuming their heart. This didn’t sit well with Icarus and those feelings festered a general feeling of ‘not belonging’ until he adventured out on his own.
Fleeing from his homeland he went far into the city of St. John. He donned his human disguise once more, venturing into the port city to see all that he could. Visiting cafes, museums, libraries, and seeing as many musical performances in the local area as he could. Taking stark note of the horrible stories written about his people, but at the same time fascinated by what the humans created, their art and song most of all! He would often scribble in a journal the things he had seen or whatever inspired him be it poems, art, or music. He found a natural drawing towards the latter, and through that interest Icarus found friends! The homeless, standoffish Icarus finds camaraderie in ‘not belonging’ with three humans. Davis, Luke, and Kayleigh. The four were good friends visiting many of the port's more ‘under the radar’ venues. He had learned that Kayleigh’s father went missing at sea, herself believing it was sirens. Though the other two often mocked her belief in ‘fairy tales’, Icarus harbored a growing belief that he was at fault. Recognizing why his people were seen as monsters, and why he too was one…
As the group grew closer Icarus would often show them his poems, drawing, and lyrics but never perform for them, fearing what would happen. However, he would eventually give into that peer pressure and accidentally enthrall them. He was sickened at how he enthralled his best friends, even more so by that mouth watering desire to consume their hearts as he’d done so many times in his youth. So scared of his own nature he fled, his friends none the wiser to their enthrallment. Icarus vowed to never sing again, especially not to his friends, though they would frequently ask to hear from his lovely singing voice again he knew he wouldn’t be able to live with himself if something bad happened. Continuously lying to his friends, they could never know the truth.
Despite his best attempts at concealment, the truth comes out eventually. During an incident where he and his friends visited a festival outside of town, his true form was revealed. Finding out first hand how mirrors show a siren's true form, his monstrous visage was revealed to Kayleigh when the two were exploring a haunted house and entered a house of mirrors. The panicked Kayleigh shrieked, and despite his best efforts to comfort her. Razor claws and dagger like teeth were of no comfort to a scared girl, His friends Davis and Luke jumped to her defense protecting her from Icarus, that meant her no harm. His friends saw him for what he really was… A monster. The look on their faces was all he needed to know he’d never be accepted amongst them, and so, heartbroken and sobbing, he flew. He flew until his wings hurt, across the land, across the sea, far enough away he couldn’t be recognized. Somewhere where his people were nothing but legends in books, and so he came upon Wickeds Rest.
To the people of Wicked's Rest, “Russ” is just a normal guy. A starving artist trying to make ends meet. The standoffish cook at Sly Slice though he’s not a big fan of the job he enjoys its simplicity, often thinking of the next chords to a song or the next line of a poem. He’s a music fan, often frequenting downtown before and after work. A frequent customer at The Vinyl Countdown, and MuertArte, and The Siren’s Song. His apartment near Harborside allows him to go out to the docks and cliffs and occasionally stretch his wings, and feast upon fish hearts (His substitute for human hearts). He’s a gentle soul and many would assume him quiet. It’s clear he’s passionate about his craft though rarely shares it, and when he does it will never be through a performance. He has a meager, simplistic life, though it’s clear he has more than one chip on his shoulder. Is Wicked's Rest a place he can finally find happiness? Or is it yet another tragic chapter waiting to end?
Character Facts:
Personality: Haunted, lonely, eloquent, sensitive, curious, gentle
Vastly prefers to go by ‘Russ’ as it's a more modern nickname. He barely responds to the name now, so accustomed is he to the nickname.
A creative mind. He is often distracted thinking of his next poem, drawing, or cords of a song. Though he is loath to show others his work, it’s clear he’s passionate about it.
Frequents poetry slams, open mic nights, and small indie shows though he will never openly participate for fear of exposing himself as a siren. Though his heart yearns to participate, doing so would end badly.
Born to a siren colony to the northeast in Newfoundland, his family was particularly traditional, feeding off sailors that traveled too far into the dense fog and mist on an early morning. Icarus, however, was entranced by human culture and desired to live amongst them. Even venturing into the city of St. Johns on a few occasions. Meeting a few friends through mutual interests, though still learning human social cues he managed to endear a few humans to befriend him. When they wanted to hear his songs he’d been working on he accidentally enthralled them leading to them figuring out his identity. He was reamed as a monster, exposing his true form and his friends fled in terror.
See’s himself and his people as monsters, but wants to overcome the traditions and nature his colony instilled in him. Working as a chef allows him to feast on scraps of meat and leftovers from the pizzeria. He adores fish and even though it’s nothing like a human’s heart. He claims to his family it’s just as good and he’s doing fine in Wicked’s rest.
Adores Coffee and other bitter foods. Typically drinks his coffee black, finding the bitterness soothing the cravings for human meat.
Has a few ‘bird’ like mannerisms. Often whistling when idle or cooking pizza in the back of Sly’s. Is particular about keeping clean, ‘preening’ over his jacket, clothing, and hair like a bird would its feathers. He likes to feed birds the leftover bread from Sly’s. He is uncomfortable around cats.

Ain’t No Mountain High Enough
Drawing and song drabble for @elmundodeflor
I combined our two tweets into one, hope you like them. Thank you for being an inspiration.
I’ve decided my drabble Modern AU Hange has tattooed sleeves inked with Titans, cause I love tattoos too much.
Also Erwin is a musical fan cause I am and I HAD to add some musical songs to the repertoir.
Slight Mobwin in sight too hehe @littlelasagne I’m looking at you hahah
Listen, baby, ain't no mountain high
Ain't no valley low, ain't no river wide enough, baby
If you need me, call me, no matter where you are
No matter how far, don't worry, baby
Just call my name, I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have to worry
'Cause baby, there ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough, ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you, baby
The lyrics rolled on their lips like they were the most natural thing in the world.
Levi hated karaoke, he hated his voice, he hated the attention. Yet, somehow, when he was with Hange he always ended up doing it. No matter which song it was, he always had fun with them. They had a magnetic field around them that attracted him so strongly he was unable to say no to them. And he loved their voice so damn much (and the puppy eyes when they begged him to sing with them) that he always complied.
The first time it was Don't Stop Me Now at Miche and Nana's wedding. Levi had been sitting lonely on a table, legs dangling from its edge. He didn't dance, he couldn't. His legs froze each time he tried or wanted to. But then Queen's song started booming and Hange came had come rushing to him. They had pulled him into the crowd to sing with them and he had just melted into it, voice and body moving in sync with Hange's as if they were a whole.
After the wedding it was Hooked on a Feeling in Levi's car while he was driving them home. And from that moment on every car ride was like a karaoke, they turned on the music and started singing together, voices higher than the singer's, mimicking the lyrics.
That's when everything changed.
From cars they extended their singing to house cleaning, one of Levi's favourite past times. Hange was always the lazy one when it came to house chores, but Levi soon discovered that singing helped them being productive, so any excuse was good enough to make them sing in order to clean their house or his together.
Any tool was useful as a microphone, be it the broom, the cleaning detergent's bottle or the mop. They'd swirl together around the house singing like crazies. When using the vacuum cleaner they'd swing their hips in tune to I Want to Break Free, taking turns with it, the other laughing their guts out at the scene.
They found out one of the pubs near their houses held a karaoke night once a week, so upon Hange's insistence they attended every once in a while, often joined by Erwin, Miche, Nanaba, Moblit and the others.
They'd all sing in turn, on their own or in couples. Moblit drunkenly sang Total Eclipse of the Heart each time they went, ending up crying like a baby at the lyrics. Erwin would hand him a whole packet of handkerchiefs and he'd blow his nose in them sobbing until the next singer came on stage. Miche and Nana sang A Whole New World dueting every Disney song they knew by heart and finishing it with a passionate kiss to seal the happy ending.
They both would sing with Hange too, Miche songs like Hakuna Matata or Rubber Biscuit, Nanaba sharing the lyrics of I'll Make a Man Out of You or I Need a Hero.
Erwin would often join on stage in choruses when needed, all the while singing from his spot at the table, uselessly trying to involve Levi. He went for songs like Aquarius or Greased Lightning, the latter dueting with Moblit. He had a not so secret thing for musicals and he had spread it around all of them, irreparably infecting them with that passion.
On his part, Levi sulked in a corner, arms crossed over his chest, scowl always in place. Each time Erwin or Miche tried to make him engage he'd grumble an angry no, almost biting their fingers off if they insisted too much.
He fucking hated that loud place, he hated the voices singing out of tune, he hated his voice. That's why he didn't like to sing in public. Yet each time Hange asked him to join them on stage he said yes. He just couldn't say no to them. If he tried, their hazel eyes would widen, lower lip slightly trembling and an annoying "pleeeeeeaaaaase" would come out of their mouth, until he accepted with a theatrical groan. Hange always answered with a happy squeak hugging him tightly and sometimes kissing him on the cheek.
Maybe that was why he couldn't resist them. Their puppy eyes, their laugh, their cries of joy, their arms around him, the way they grabbed him when they sang together at home, their hand in his when they walked in town, their ice cream stained face when they licked it with too much greediness, their enthusiasm when talking about their job or the last movie they watched. The list was endless. And it was only growing longer by the day.
That night the pub was only theirs.
Erwin had rented the room to celebrate his birthday and he had requested karaoke as a fundamental requirement. Purple and blue lights darted on the stage as Hange and Miche sang Dancing with myself, Crocodile Rock and Don't You Forget About Me.
Petra, Oluo, Nifa and the others danced in a corner, singing together.
Then it was Moblit's turn with Heartbreak Hotel (Erwin providing him tissues once more when he slipped off stage drunkenly wobbling his way to the table) and again Hange with Nana, singing I Won't Say I'm in Love, Miche and Erwin behind them doing the Muses' chorus.
This time, Miche and Nana dueted with Don't Go Breaking My Heart.
Off stage, Hange fixed themselves a drink and brought one to Levi too. They sat on his lap cooing at how adorable Miche and Nana were together. They clinked their glasses together, then each took a sip of their gin tonic. As the duet ended Hange jumped off of his legs and darted to Miche's side to sing Crazy Little Thing Called Love.
Damn, they didn't get a moment's rest. And paired with Miche they were unstoppable. One arm slunged over his shoulder, shouting the songs.
He felt a pang of jealousy at all the times Miche got to sing with Hange instead of him. He did sing with them every day while cleaning or in the car but somehow it wasn't the same as sharing a stage. Again, he hated the attention, but he'd do anything to stay a bit more with Hange, to make them laugh that way. Even karaoke.
As if they'd heard his thoughts, Hange ran to him once again. "Leviiiiiiiiiiii" and he knew his moment had arrived. He feigned indifference at their cry, let them approach and sit again on his lap. They circled his neck with their arms, pleading for him to sing with them and Miche let out an amused snicker.
"C'mon Levi it's our turn, you can't stay here scowling all night, it's Erwin's birthday you can't refuse. Erwin and Miche chose our song. Plus you have the most beautiful voice, it's a shame not use it. Pleeeeeeaaaaase."
He turned Hange down a couple of times but then they fished out that damn pout he liked so much and he gave up, letting them take his hand and drag him up on stage.
As soon as the music began he regretted it. This fucking song. He should have known. He never should have let Miche or Erwin choose. Those morons. They knew. He didn't know how, but they knew. And they took pleasure in torturing him. Making fun of him. Fuck them. He'd give them what they wanted, he wouldn't give them the satisfaction of refusing.
They started singing together, even though it was a duet they both liked singing everything as one, they'd always done that with every song.
Remember the day I set you free
I told you, you could always count on me, girl
And from that day on I made a vow
I'll be there when you want me some way, some how
'Cause baby, there ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough, ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you, baby
As soon as they picked up the pace everything changed. It was just the two of them, singing. The others disappeared, the stage, the pub, everything. It was just him and Hange and their voices singing together as one.
Oh no darling, no wind, no rain
Or winters cold can stop me baby
No, no baby, 'cause you are my love
If you ever in trouble, I'll be there on the double
Just send for me, oh baby
They both started dancing too, leaning into eachother, intertwining their free hands together, looking into eachother's eyes. Hange smiled the widest smile ever and it seemed to get wider with each word, he could see their eyes beaming. They were happy, they were having fun and he was a part of it. In fact, he was one of the causes. And he couldn't be more pleased about it.
My love is alive, way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand
I'll be there on the double just as fast as I can
Suddenly he realised how close they were to eachother. Their faces were inches from one another, noses almost touching. He could smell the gin tonic in their breath. And as it always happened with Hange, the things that usually disgusted him (like the sticky smell of alcohol breath), didn't. He felt his face grow hot, in fact he was probably purple at the moment.
Reality slammed back on him, he could hear Miche and Erwin snickering loudly from one of the tables, and Nanaba slapping Miche on the back telling him to let them be, a soft knowing smile on their lips.
Face burning, he turned his attention back to Hange, they were still looking at him, a nice bright pink spreading on their cheeks too. He wondered if it was the gin tonic's work or the singing. He was pretty sure his wasn't. And the blush didn't seem to want to go away, no matter how much he tried. Instead he kept turning redder, blush soon reaching his ears.
Don't you know that there ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough, ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you, baby
This fucking song was going on forever. And the funny thing was that he didn't want it to end. He wished they could just keep singing, even if it meant staying pepper red forever.
Hange swirled away from him, pirouetting on the stage. Their tie flapped around them, rolled up sleeves showed the Titan tattoos inked on their arms. Their hair was still in the usual half ponytail but was getting looser with each song, sticking in every direction. Their glasses kept slipping down their hooked nose, often fogging up because of their rising body heat.
They were a fucking mess.
And they were fucking handsome.
Don't you know that there ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough, ain't no river wide enough
Ain't no mountain high enough, ain't no valley low enough
With the final verse they took his hand again and pulled him towards them, embracing him.
His arms naturally curled themselves around their neck, his face once again brushing theirs. He could feel his cheeks and ears on fire, burning with a nice tomato red tint.
His heart was threatening to burst out of his chest.
He could hear Hange's heartbeat too, pounding against him, their hot breath tickling him.
He glanced up at Hange and that was it.
His lips crashed onto theirs, he grabbed their ponytail to pull them closer, throwing the microphone away and hugging their neck tightly.
After a split second of pure surprise, Hange answered his hungry kiss, hands fumbling at his hair. Their microphone fell to the floor too and they embraced his neck, scraping at his undercut.
A loud cheer came up from the audience. Miche and Erwin shouted a super loud "Go for it", Nanaba screamed an "About time you two", while Moblit gaped at them. The rest of the guys whistled repeatedly their approval.
When they finally parted, they were both scarlet red, panting.

this is how i imagine damian wayne…
(a lot of this is also canon/inspired by canon)
Tumblr media
click here for the other boys
Tumblr media
- brings home stray/sick animals he finds on patrol or just during the day.
- is very well known by the local shelter and vets for bringing in animals to be looked after or “just browsing” the strays at the shelter on weekends.
- he had a pretty shitty start to life, so through his tweenhood the rest of the batfam have slowly introduced him to their favourite shows, movies and childrens books from their childhoods.
- he always protests but ends up enjoying a lot of them.
- dick was the one to introduce him to anime and manga and damian has been hooked ever since.
- barbra introduced him to boy meets world and fuller house, which he wasn’t that big of a fan of but (internally) appreciated her introducing him to sitcoms.
- tim got him into geronimo stilton and 80s family/friend films like parenthood, goonies, stand by me, etc.
- tim and damian both have a really strong love of the parenthood movie and i think it’s because both of them come from extremely dysfunctional or “different” families and watching an average american “dysfunctional” family is comforting.
- it’s the only thing they will voluntarily do together, and it’s always tim sending damian a blunt text message, or damian will put it on tv when tim walks past and he’ll see and sit down with him.
- their relationship is… strange, to say the least, but they both have a terrible past relationship and this is their only way of not being awkward with each other and trying to mend that.
- damian is a very creative person, so on top of drawing i always feel like he’s is obsessed with music; any and every genre.
- the way it all comes together and makes people feel or react a certain way i think he finds fascinating, especially since he would never have been exposed to it all before.
- constantly listening to music while he’s painting and sketching, even while he’s reading he occasionally likes to listen.
- always in headphones though, no one ever knows what he’s listening to and he never lets anyone know his spotify.
- he takes song recommendations from everyone (not directly). people will say “hey this is my favourite song!” when it comes on the radio and he’ll add it to his playlist to see if he likes it later.
- or he’d hear someone listening to songs in their own room and use shazam (the app, not billy lol) or look up the lyrics to find the song.
- or someone would actually tell him to listen to a song and he’d “tt” and write in notes to remind himself to listen to it when they’ve forgotten about asking him.
- he likes to wear headphones/earphones while he’s walking around gotham or into/out of wayne ent. so he doesn’t have to listen to the paparazzi and journalists hounding him.
- which means there’s lots and lots of candid videos of damian wayne walking around with headphones which tik tok loves to guess the songs he’s listening to.
- damian finds it amusing but pretends he’s never heard of it when anyone asks and only has a secret stalk account on tik tok to watch his siblings and friends videos even though he pretends he doesn’t care.
- there’s a lot of “pretending he doesn’t care” with damian.
- he can’t show weakness. let people know he cares. he hardly knows how he’d even tell them or show them that.
- he’s troubled and lacking in social queues and skills, but he’s trying, thought he finds i very hard to let himself relax and “be a normal kid for his age” which is what people often tell him.
- he knows they don’t mean harm but i reckon that hurts him to hear that.
- he has no idea what “being a normal kids” is, but everyone’s slowly trying to help him.
- jon helps a lot unknowingly too.
- obviously at first they hated each other but after they became friends, i think jon would introduce damian to his favourite tv shows and comics and books which would help damian understand what kids his age actually like.
- he’s been surrounded by adults/much older people his whole life so even though they’re trying to help, their recommendations are often things that are “out of date” for his age group.
- like for example, 80s, 90s, 00s. they’re amazing and timeless but not always known or liked by other 10-13 year olds.

29. Where do you draw your inspiration? What do you do when the inspiration well runs dry? & 33. Do you practice any other art besides writing? Does that art ever tie into your writing, or is it entirely separate? if you don't mind <3
ahhh thanks for the ask faye!!
29.
ooooo honestly, this is a hard question because my inspo is such a fickle thing, even i don't really understand it?? like, i go through long periods of essentially no thots, head empty where i just don't feel the need or want to write, and i just kind of sit with that for a while.
generally i tend to get most inspired when i find an interpersonal relationship that i really want to explore. and then my best ideas come to me either while i'm driving, or right before i'm about to fall asleep. so i guess inspiration comes when i let my mind idle (i swear i'm a decent driver lmao, it's just actually one of the few things where i can enter autopilot and have room to think while the rest of my brain is occupied with the road)
if i'm really looking for inspiration when there's none to be found, i'll go and look for prompts online, or listen to music! tons of inspiration to be found in a really good lyric or two, especially because most of my stories form around a single phrase or event i want to articulate, and then grow from there
33.
i actually do tons of other types of art! first and foremost, i've always considered myself a visual artist, and that definitely ties into my writing. unfortunately i'm not very quick with my drawings, or else you'd see a lot of comics where i combine my art and writing into one. hopefully when i get used to my new drawing monitor, i'll be able to bring some of those ideas to life quicker than my usual traditional art would allow aljdlksl
i also used to work as a photographer, and ran an online shop where i sold wire wrapped jewellery, knit and crochet pieces, wood burnings, embroidery, and i'm starting to dabble in clay stuff! i just can't do them all at the same time, so i tend to cycle through those hobbies every so often lmao. i need more hours in the day!!

Review: dwn bad shares second ever single ‘So Loud for a Leaf’, a dreamy but saddened haze that aches through the dance of a long-distance relationship
Based in the vibrant musical landscape of Houston, TX, the upcoming artist dwn bad has found himself teetering between genres at every turn, showcasing nuance in each new single. With his debut ‘Palace of You’ released earlier this year, it’s just the start of understanding this versatile musician and the capabilities of his need for such diverse artistic expression. As the sole instrumentalist in the band, Derek Silva imparts a dynamic and personal touch to each composition.
Sharing now ‘So Loud for a Leaf’, dwn bad allows listeners in to a new slice of what he’s capable of, keeping the same consistent themes of rawness and connection even when his sound unravels between sounds. There’s always a hint of easy-listening with him though, at least so far, as ‘So Loud for a Leaf’ flows through your eardrums with such a dreamy concoction of indie sound. From reverb soaked electric guitar strums to steady drum beats, bass twangs and a distant electric guitar riff, pressing play on ‘So Loud for a Leaf’ really is a breath of fresh air, taking you through a sunny palette that’ll leave you refreshed and rejuvenated like it were an experience handcrafted for just you. The verse continues to dance through this soft ambience, pulling back on some of the intensity for just drums, bass and gentle strums to come centre stage for a hazy little package that dreams are made of. The vocals are equally floaty and light, gliding through a wide range while drawing out lines and cascading from high to low with ease.
As things continue, dwn bad shifts the tone a little, still carried by undertones of vibrancy but now a looming cloud of melancholia works its way through. Contrasting against the colourful haze of guitar, the darker drums and bass melt together with the vocals that have now changed towards a down-beat delivery, humming into lows and dreary admissions. The echoey reverb adds an even further sense of yearning here, every word hanging in the air like a ghost haunting the sound, a distant sense from the prior tranquility and ease it had allowed for.
It’s no surprise that lyrically ‘So Loud for a Leaf’ is just as complex as the soundscape, weaving between happiness and sadness at all turns. Inspired by the delicacy of long-distance relationships, it finds itself navigating new beginnings and the courage it takes to trust again, but it’s unclear whether that be with a partner across the globe or if they’re the cause of their broken heart. The opening feels the lightest, asking ‘can I keep my cool?’ and beaming that ‘I’ll give it all to you’ , loved-up like the first moments of meeting and falling in love for someone tend to be. But as time passes, it feels like the weight of their relationship begins to become more and more heavy, struggling through departures as dwn bad sings: ‘when we say goodbye, take my jacket, hope it keeps you warm in the wintertime.’ This line alone is so simple and yet depicts so much, revealing they won’t be meeting again through the entirety of the winter season, as well as the aching both share at being apart, longing for something that makes them feel closer. Admitting ‘every time, I cry’ , so much of what’s unveiled feels conflicted, uncertain in the distance between them, but carrying so much love that ending it would be torture. One line in particular stands out though, questioning ‘is it safe with you?’, an evidently post-trauma based thought that’s doused in insecurity, wondering if they can really allow down their guard and be with someone without even the normal security of seeing them often. ‘So Loud for a Leaf’ is truly an interesting listen, jumping between the love carried and the undertone of what if’s, it perfectly encapsulates the rocky ship that can be a long distance love, but often it’s worth the ride. Keep listening for yourself here, there’s so much to hear and listen to, it’s worth it.

The Warrior of Light and his Loves
A Kyler & Polycule Playlist
The Seraph from 35mm: A Musical Exhibition | Estinien & Aymeric
youtube
I sincerely feel the impact of this song is lessened if you do not listen to it before you read the lyrics. The lyrics and how I interpret them are therefore under a cut this time.
(Estinien)
I saw a devil before me, and he took me by the face I walked inside his shadow and kept apace I filled my life with sin enough for the world around drowned -- 'til by an an Angel Seraph I was found
The Angel leads me onward he watches as I sleep the Angel thinks I've got some kind of soul to keep I feel him rest his Seraph head warm against my chest don't know why it should be but by the Angel I am blessed
And now that devil's behind me hoping I'll trip and fall but the Seraph remains to remind me I can have a higher call I journey t'ward a goodness that he exemplifies wise, and cool, and clear, and human in disguise
The Angel leads me onward he watches as I sleep the Angel thinks I've got some kind of soul to keep I feel him rest his Seraph head warm against my chest don't know why it should be but by the Angel I am blessed
I don't believe in God -- I think Jesus was just a man but with you in my life, I feel part of some heavenly plan you've shown me there is faith without fear or regret you are a love as close to Heaven as I'll get
(Aymeric & Estinien together)
So Angel lead me onward and hold watch as I sleep (no) I don't know why you think I've got a soul to keep and when you lay your hallowed head warm against my chest my divine highest angel mine -- somehow -- I'll be blessed!
Oh I'll be blessed...
(Aymeric)
I'm in Love with you...
(Estinien)
I'll be blessed...
I have SO MANY FEELINGS about this song!!
My wife introduced me to 35mm: AME and the first time she wanted to play me this song, I was skeptical. By the end of it I was sobbing like a child. Something about this being an explicitly gay love song that includes an ex-Christian trauma mindset from a combination musical and photography exhibition made by a gay couple really spoke to me.
This song can be interpreted - and work! - in so many ways, and I often play with who the two singers are, but most often, the first voice is Estinien, the devil is Nidhogg, and the Seraph is Aymeric. It works especially well in my mind that when Aymeric as the second voice joins in he explicitly also sings "I don't know why you think I've got a soul to keep," and that, since they both sing "My divine highest Angel mine" it turns the narrative on its head, showing that even while Aymeric may be Estinien's Seraph, Estinien is Aymeric's Seraph, too.
I've done several drawings that are inspired by this song and I will almost certainly do more! You can see them by clicking here.
I wanted to include this as the first Estimeric song because it's a nice overarching piece, including references to the tribulations of their time together early on as well as resolves nicely into love.
For an extra peek behind the curtain, I always picture them kissing at the end, on that final chord where the song resolves (*/ω\*)

Jordi Up Late – “To Be Your Friend” (Video Premiere)
Today I’m excited to share with everyone the new single and music video from electronic indie-pop artist Jordi Up Late, called “To Be Your Friend.” While Jordi continues to steadily release new singles, her plan is to eventually string some more recordings together for an EP or potentially a debut full-length LP. On this great sounding new single, Jordi Up Late shared: ”TBYF” is about experiencing the dichotomy of resentment and gratitude after falling for the ‘idea’ of someone and facing that your disappointment lies in your own expectations of a person who was incapable of loving you before meeting you. In the end I gave the benefit of the doubt by extending friendship only to feel my hand slapped away and taken for granted. Though I am resentful in the dark melodies of the synth, and at times in the lyrics, I remind myself of my own power in singing directly and unapologetically to this person. I speak plainly that loving one another was impossible considering his lack of confidence and that loving him was only worth it for the lessons learned.” With a plethora of hooks and impressive songwriting chops, Jordi Up Late has crafted a single worthy of your next perfect playlist. I was also able to catch up with this artist for a brief interview. The story explored in “To Be Your Friend” is quite vulnerable, an admittance of being in a toxic situation that didn’t necessarily end on a good foot. Does writing about these harder relationships bring about catharsis, or is it slightly intimidating to bare all via your music?  Writing about harder relationships definitely brings a deep catharsis. Sometimes I don’t process a relationship or a painful situation fully until I have written about it because words and emotions flow out without judgement. Ultimately I know the honesty will be good for me and will be good for the song.  It’s not intimidating to write the music, I’m generally an open book but I won’t lie I cry when I’m writing sometimes or when I listen back to a mix.  Sonically, where did you draw inspiration from when writing “To Be Your Friend?” Sonically, “To Be Your Friend” became about exploring how a ballad could feel dark, electronic, synthetic, poppy but deeply real and relatable.  I always draw inspiration from artists who are doing ballads in a non-obvious and edgy way. Those artists include people like James Blake, The XX, Rosalia, and Grimes. The goal for me on this track and for much of my upcoming EP was to produce haunting and edgy melodies in the context of modern electronic music, which is totally cross genre.  Where did the idea for the song’s visual come from? And how did the process of bringing it to life turn out? The Idea came from a personal experience. I never really ideate a song. They just happen. I was feeling really sad and frustrated about a certain relationship but at the same time feeling a lot of empathy for a person who was struggling in their own right. He is also an artist and I know more than anyone how dark we artists can feel. Art and music is often the light. For the visual representation of “To Be Your Friend,” I wanted to create a surreal space representative of the dark but beautiful places we artists go to in our minds. Where we cry, project, find pain, find power, and peace in creation.  --- Please consider becoming a member so we can keep bringing you stories like this one. ◎ https://chorus.fm/features/jordi-up-late-to-be-your-friend-video-premiere/

10, 11, 23?
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw
just answered!
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
good god i listen to so much music. i usually just throw my playlist of the season on shuffle BUT if im drawing an oc i usually play my particular playlist for them. like 50% of the time i start drawing a picture because i get inspired by a songs lyrics/start imagining cool amvs and so sometimes ill just be looping the same song for two hours. unsurprisingly the bulk of my taste and hence what i listen to most is weird prog concept albums but ive also been listening to a lot of everything everything as of late and thats like. real good drawing music
23. Do you use different layer modes
mmmm i used to a lot more a while ago but i always end up fiddling with them too much to the point it pisses me off and so ive become more frugal lol.... ill spend like ten minutes fucking around with overlay and multiply stuff and then go 'hey this looked better without that shit' and remove them. i know the point of thems to unify color palettes but i feel it often just dulls down my colors. id say the most frequent filtering i do is just messing around with burn layers at low opacity since that usually brings up some vibrant colors and makes lineart stand out. love it

“I turned away because I thought you were the problem
Tried to forget until I hit the bottom
But when I faced you in my blank confusion
I realized you weren't wrong, was a mere illusion
It really didn't make sense
Just to leave this unresolved
It's not hard to go the distance
When you finally get involved, face to face”
