people are always discussing the lack of pronunciation guide in asoiaf and how you are supposed to say various valyrian names but i would like to also bring up the fact that the books and tv show have conspired to convince people to pronounce the name jaime as "jamie" instead of "hi-may" which is something that i have always found strange

There's just something soooooo incredibly nice about how he has a team that suits him, loves him, will do anything for him, gets along with him, gives him a decent car etc etc. I think even if Aston has slump periods, that's fine with me because I think ignoring those, everything he's gotten this year makes up for all those years of suffering with teams that didn't respect him and treat him well enough. On the topic of gaster because I have him on the brain now. Interesting to me that so many people see the “what do you two think” line as referring to sans and papyrus. Even though I don’t think there’s really any connection between papyrus and gaster other than they’re both connected to sans in some way. Sans has the gaster blaster as the big one but he also has the workshop and whatever and also the out of nowhere acknowledgement of timelines. (Don’t get me started on this. Or do. I have a lot to say on how the timeline acknowledgement and sans being secretly super powerful feels more like a joke than something you’re supposed to take seriously but also I’ve never actually fought him so idk lol. Maybe that’s the gist of it actually.) Papyrus doesn’t really have anything connecting him to gaster. I think this is another reason the “gaster is blood related to the skeletons” thing never really felt right to me LOL However I’m not really sure what to actually make of the line. iirc alphys didn’t actually seem to be well known until she created mettaton? So I’m not sure she would necessarily have been super close with gaster. Idk. I don’t have much more to say about this. I’m not sure where I was going with this lol

#Alphys is the only person other than maybe asgore who could fit in that line as being close to something gaster did. I love that the brendan story is like. Everything is perfectly normal. Until you look a little too closely. Or watch a little too long. But even if someone had watched the whole thing, if theyre not familiar with earth customs, they might just assume everyone who retires from the garda gets their memory wiped. But even so, if they're paying attention then theyll probably find it a bit odd that brendan had aged but his loving father and supportive superior officer (who are now both torturing him and wiping his memory) haven't aged at all somehow. It's such a good allegory for the story of tecteun and the other higher ups exploiting the timeless child for endless life (thus lack of ageing) then betraying them after initially posing as someone to be trusted
