small details in X-Men '97 that rip my heart and serve it on a plate:
this gesture here - Magneto being the one in the party to acknowledge Morph's trauma and what a big ask it is to revisit their past.
He knows. He's been there before. And wants Morph to know he's not alone.

I know we all love narrative foils and can all agree that Astarion/Durge is great and that there are pairings that are narratively perfect for mister vamp man.
But you know what Astarion deserves? Do you know what he NEEDS? Hmm? Do you?
A fuckin PRINCE. Yeah yeah yeah, I know! 'But he needs someone who can understand his pain!' Listen you don't need someone to mirror your experience to make the effort to understand you. And Wyll would learn everything about Astarion inside and out.
And the courting???? Hello??!!??!
Twirling him before kissing him? Complimenting him in the most poetic, cheesy ways? Kissing his forehead and nose before kissing him full on the lips when they part ways to say goodnight? Gently tucking silver curls behind his ears mid-conversation with a warm smile? Doing cringey, corny little bows when he catches Astarion's eye and blowing him a kiss in a way that makes mister 'love doesn't exist for me anymore and my heart is frozen' internally squee??
Love how in the like 2 second conversation with Tommy Buck manages to mentions his husband "no way, Eddie was in the army!" his ex girlfriend "I met my ex in mentions responding to a helicopter crash" and then ask Tommy out on a date "let me buy you a beer"
the thing about joel is that he loses control incredibly easily. he has a line and it will take him some time to reach it but once he's crossed it there's no coming back. he just lets loose and lets the feral part take over. throughout the season we see it a lot. when the guard in boston threatens ellie and he beats him up until he's dead. when the preacher kidnaps her and he wreaks havoc to find her. but in this episode the line blurs. it's like he crosses it by choice. he doesn't flinch, doesn't freeze, doesn't take a single second to hesitate on any shot he takes. he's even pragmatic about it, preventing that anyone follows him or hurts him, saving time and energy. the kill is his first option because everybody becomes not even a target, just an obstacle to get to ellie. and at what point does it stop being about ellie and starts being about him clawing at the semblance of family that he has regained? that's where the line blurs. and when the line blurs there's no one who can possibly stop him.
quietly sliding you a small treat from my latest doodle array because this one is already turning out fun dsdhfsdk (the theme is acrobatics) - @clxckwork-sun-n-moon
I READ OVER THE ID AND OMG-
I LOVE THIS ALREADY?!?!??! As much as the theme is 'acrobatics', I couldn't help but think this is how he puts Y/N into 'time out' XDD
The way they're both crying because they want to be together but Fate is pulling them apart. The way this isn't turning out like either of them thought it would.
