"Hazel, come on! You're going to be late for your first day," I called out, a hint of urgency in my voice as I stood by the door, checking the time repeatedly.
"Coming, Mommy!" Hazel's excited voice echoed down the hallway. Within moments, she darted towards me, her eyes bright with anticipation. I enveloped her in a tight embrace, planting playful kisses all over her face as she giggled with delight.
"Are you excited?" I asked, trying to contain my own excitement as we stepped outside. The morning air was crisp, and the sun was just beginning to rise, casting a golden hue over everything around us.
Hazel nodded vigorously, her curls bouncing with each movement. "Yes, Mommy! I can't wait to meet new friends and learn new things!"
Locking the door behind us, I couldn't help but feel a rush of pride and nostalgia, watching my little girl embark on this new adventure.
As we made our way towards Colorful Petals Kindergarten in the car, Hazel's excitement was palpable. Her chatter filled the space, talking about all the things she hoped to do and the friends she wanted to make. The vibrant energy was contagious, and I couldn't help but smile as I stole glances at her through the rearview mirror.
Upon arriving at the kindergarten, Hazel's enthusiasm flickered into nervousness. I gently unbuckled her from her car seat and held her hand, guiding her towards the classroom. But as we approached, her grip on my hand tightened, and I could see the worry etched on her face.
"Mommy, I don't feel good. I want to go home," Hazel whimpered softly, her voice tinged with anxiety.
Kneeling down to her level, I looked into her eyes, noticing the flicker of nervousness within them. I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her close in a reassuring hug. "Hazel, honey, you're going to be okay. It's normal to feel a little nervous on the first day. I promise you, you'll have so much fun, make lots of new friends, and learn amazing things. But if you still don't feel good by lunchtime, I'll come and pick you up, alright?"
"Okay," she whispered, her voice barely audible, but I could sense a slight ease in her tension.
With a gentle smile, I gave her a quick kiss on the forehead before walking her to her classroom. As we approached the door, her apprehension seemed to lessen, replaced by a glimmer of curiosity as she peered into the colorful room filled with toys and other children.
"You've got this, Hazel," I encouraged her softly, squeezing her hand before giving her one last reassuring smile as she stepped into her new classroom. Watching her take hesitant steps forward, I knew this was the start of her own journey, filled with discoveries and adventures, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions - pride, anticipation, and a touch of wistfulness as I watched my little one begin her first day at kindergarten.
As I stood there, watching Hazel immerse herself in the activities, a voice interrupted my thoughts. I turned to see a striking woman standing beside me, her presence captivating.
"Is she yours?" the woman asked, her voice friendly and warm. I nodded, a proud smile forming on my lips.
"Yes, she is," I replied, feeling a mix of surprise and curiosity at the sudden conversation.
The woman's gaze shifted back to Hazel, and a soft smile graced her lips. "She looks like you. She's beautiful, just like her mom," she complimented, her eyes twinkling as she glanced at me and playfully winked.
The unexpected compliment caught me off guard, and I felt a rush of warmth spreading across my cheeks. "Thank you," I responded, feeling bashful yet appreciative of her kind words.
The woman chuckled softly, her demeanor friendly and welcoming. "You're doing a great job. Cherish these moments; they grow up so fast," she remarked, a hint of nostalgia in her voice.
I nodded, grateful for her encouragement and the shared sentiment. As I turned my attention back to Hazel, watching her giggle and interact with her new friends, I couldn't help but appreciate the kindness of the stranger's words and the reminder to treasure every moment of this precious journey.
The woman extended her hand with a warm smile. "My name is Kim Minjeong, but I'll be known as Miss Winter to the kids. I'm your daughter's teacher," she introduced herself.
"Nice to meet you, Miss Winter," I replied warmly, shaking her hand. The revelation that she was Hazel's teacher brought a sense of reassurance. Her friendly demeanor and the way she engaged with Hazel and the other children put me at ease.
"I'm glad Hazel has you as her teacher," I added with a smile, feeling a sense of gratitude knowing that my daughter was in capable and caring hands.
Miss Winter returned the smile, her eyes lighting up with enthusiasm. "I'm excited to have her in my class. She's already making friends," she remarked, gesturing toward Hazel, who was now engrossed in a playful activity with a few other children.
"She's a little nervous today, but I'm sure she'll settle in quickly," I shared, feeling a sense of relief discussing it with someone who seemed understanding and supportive.
Miss Winter nodded empathetically. "First days can be a bit overwhelming, but she's doing great. I'll make sure she feels comfortable and included," she assured me, her tone filled with warmth and confidence.
I thanked her, feeling grateful for her reassurance and dedication. As I glanced back at Hazel, seeing her laugh and engage with her newfound friends, a sense of confidence washed over me, knowing that Hazel was not only in good hands but also in an environment where she could flourish and grow.
As Miss Winter observed my evident nervousness, she offered a reassuring smile. "She'll be okay," she assured me softly, her voice carrying a soothing tone filled with understanding.
Relieved by her comforting words, I nodded gratefully. "Thank you," I replied, feeling a bit more at ease knowing that Hazel had someone as caring as Miss Winter looking out for her.
Her reassuring gaze lingered for a moment longer before she added, "If anything goes wrong, I'll be sure to call you," her words laced with a promise and a sense of reassurance.
"Thank you so much," I said, genuinely appreciative of her thoughtfulness. Knowing that I would be informed if needed alleviated some of the worry that lingered within me.
With a gentle smile, Miss Winter nodded at me. "I'll see you again when school is over," she said warmly, her attention drawn back to the children as she went to tend to them.
Her reassuring words lingered in the air, and I felt a sense of comfort knowing she would be there to guide Hazel through her first day. As she engaged with the children, I took one last glance at her, grateful for her presence and the promise of seeing her again at the end of the day.
The ringing bell signaled the start of the school day, prompting me to take it as my cue to depart. Glancing at Miss Winter, I observed her effortlessly gathering the children, her reassuring presence calming any lingering apprehension.
As I prepared to leave, our eyes met, and Miss Winter offered a reassuring grin, accompanied by a wave. It was a silent acknowledgment that Hazel was in capable hands, and I found comfort in her confidence.
Returning their gestures, I locked eyes with Hazel, who had noticed me too. She waved enthusiastically, blowing me a kiss. In response, I sent her a flying kiss back, accompanied by a warm smile, silently conveying my love and encouragement for her first day.
Seeing her smile widen and her excitement grow as she joined her peers, I felt a mix of emotions—pride, a hint of nostalgia, and a surge of hope for the adventures that awaited her. With a final wave, I turned away, feeling a sense of reassurance knowing Hazel was in good care and ready to embark on her exciting journey at school.
As the school day wound down and I received no calls, I felt a sense of relief knowing Hazel had settled in well. Heading towards the school, I saw Miss Winter gathering the children for departure. They formed a cheerful group, likely singing a tune they'd learned during the day.
While quietly observing, I met Miss Winter's eyes, and she offered me a friendly wink. It felt light-hearted, a gesture of camaraderie rather than flirtation, leaving me feeling a touch bashful but appreciative of her warmth.
When the bell rang, signaling the end of the day, a flurry of excited children hurried towards their waiting parents. Among them, Hazel stood beside Miss Winter, holding her hand as she waited for me. Hazel's bright smile conveyed her excitement about her day, while Miss Winter's warm presence by her side reflected the nurturing environment she had created in her classroom.
"Mommy!" Hazel's enthusiastic voice echoed as she leaped into my arms. "Hazel!" I echoed back, catching her and showering her with kisses. "How was your day, honey?" I inquired, eager to hear about her adventures.
"IT WAS AMAZING! Miss Winter is so fun! We did arts and crafts, she read us a book, and we played outside," Hazel excitedly began recounting her day, her words tumbling out in a rush.
I chuckled at her enthusiasm, gazing at her affectionately. "I'm glad you had a great time, baby," I said, my heart swelling with joy at her excitement.
Glancing over at Miss Winter, I noticed her watching us with a soft gaze and a small smile. "How was she, Miss Winter?" I asked, curious about Hazel's day from her perspective.
"She was perfect! You have real smartie pants here, and no need to call me Miss Winter, Minjeong is fine," she replied warmly, her eyes sparkling with fondness as she spoke about Hazel. Her reassurance and praise filled me with gratitude, knowing Hazel was thriving under her care.
"Thank you, Minjeong, for taking care of Hazel today. What do you say, Hazel?" I gently prompted, wanting her to express her gratitude.
"Thank you, Miss Winter. I had fun today," Hazel chimed in with a beaming smile, her enthusiasm evident in her words.
Minjeong, pleased with Hazel's response, nodded with a warm smile. "You're very welcome, Hazel. I'm glad you had a good time," she replied, her tone kind and encouraging.
It was heartwarming to witness Hazel's positive experience on her first day, and I felt grateful for the care and attention Minjeong had provided. With a final wave goodbye, I led Hazel away, excited to hear more about her adventures and looking forward to the days ahead at Colorful Petals Kindergarten.
Months have passed, and Hazel is loving kindergarten more and more every day, and I thank Minjeong for that. That woman knows what she is doing," I thought to myself as I immersed myself in my work.
The day was busy, and I was engrossed in various tasks when my phone suddenly rang, displaying the school's number. A sense of unease pricked at me as I answered the call, my voice tinged with apprehension. "Hello?" I said, trying to hide the worry that instantly settled in my chest.
"Hi, is this Y/n Y/Ln I'm talking to?" the familiar voice of Minjeong, Hazel's teacher, greeted me on the other end.
"Yes, this is she," I responded, my concern growing as I anticipated the reason for the call.
"Hi Y/n, it's me, Minjeong. Hazel had a little accident. She fell and scratched her leg, and she's quite upset, asking for you. Is it possible for you to come in at the moment?" Minjeong's voice remained calm but conveyed her concern for Hazel's well-being.
My heart skipped a beat, worry surging through me at the news. "Of course, I'll be there in 10 minutes," I confirmed hastily, my mind already racing as I gathered my belongings and made a swift decision to leave my office.
"Okay, drive safely. I'll see you soon," Minjeong's reassuring words offered a small sense of comfort in the midst of the unexpected situation.
With a sense of urgency and worry propelling me forward, I hurried out of the office, my thoughts consumed by the need to comfort Hazel. The details were scarce, but my concern for her well-being intensified with each passing second. The image of Hazel's tearful face lingered in my mind, fueling my determination to reach her side as swiftly as possible.
Arriving at the school, my heart raced as I hurried through the office, guided by the sound of my daughter's distressed cries. "Hazel, mommy’s here, it's okay," I reassured her, my voice filled with both urgency and comfort.
Rushing towards her, I enveloped Hazel in my arms, cradling her close. "Mommy," Hazel whimpered, seeking solace by burying her tear-streaked face in my neck.
Gently rubbing her back, I held her tight, offering words of comfort. "It's alright, sweetheart. I'm here now," I murmured softly, trying to soothe her distress. The weight of her small body in my arms filled me with a mix of concern and relief, my primary focus on comforting her in this moment of vulnerability.
"You've got a boo-boo, huh?" I asked gently, noticing the bandaid on her knee.
"Yes, it hurts," Hazel whimpered softly, her voice filled with discomfort.
"You want Mommy's magic kisses?" I suggested with a small grin, hoping to bring a smile to her face despite the pain.
"Yes, please," she replied with a sniffle, her trust and hope evident in her response.
With tender care, I leaned in, planting gentle kisses on the bandaged knee, each kiss accompanied by a whispered promise of healing. "There you go, magical healing kisses," I murmured, hoping to ease her pain with the comforting touch of a mother's love.
"Thank you, Mommy," Hazel murmured gratefully, her voice still tinged with discomfort.
"Of course, baby," I replied, gently caressing her face, trying to offer comfort in any way I could.
I noticed Minjeong standing nearby, observing the whole ordeal with a mix of concern and admiration on her face. I turned to her, seeking more details about what had occurred. "What happened?" I questioned, wanting to understand how Hazel had gotten hurt.
"She was running and she slipped," Minjeong explained, concern etched in her voice as she recounted the incident.
"I was having too much fun," Hazel murmured softly, a hint of remorse in her voice, as if acknowledging that her enthusiasm had led to the accident.
I gave Hazel a gentle squeeze, assuring her that accidents happen, while also directing my attention to Minjeong, expressing my gratitude for her care and concern. "Thank you for letting me know, Minjeong. I appreciate your help," I said, grateful for her presence and attentiveness in handling the situation.
"Of course, I did promise I would call if anything happened," Minjeong reassured me with a nod, emphasizing her commitment to keeping me informed.
"Thank you again. It's best if we head home now. I'm sure your students are waiting for you to come back," I acknowledged, understanding her responsibilities and the need to return to her classroom.
However, before I could make my way to Hazel and prepare to leave, Minjeong stopped me. "Oh, before that, I have a question to ask you. Do you mind if we speak privately for a quick minute?" she requested a hint of urgency in her tone.
Glancing at Hazel, I assured her that I would be right back and signaled for her to get ready to leave. "Sure, we can talk," I replied to Minjeong, signaling my willingness to have a brief conversation despite the urgency of getting Hazel home. I followed Minjeong to a quieter corner, curious about what she needed to discuss.
Minjeong's gentle voice carried concern as she spoke, taking a moment to express something that had been weighing on her mind. "I've noticed Hazel feeling a bit down sometimes when we talk about families. Her classmates often share stories about their weekends, mentioning what they do with their mom and dad. During playtime, they ask why her mom always picks her up and not her dad. I've noticed that when she draws, it's usually just you and her, not including her dad. I hope I'm not overstepping, but is Hazel's father involved in her life?"
Her words painted a picture of the social dynamics Hazel faced at school, the innocent inquiries of her peers inadvertently highlighting the absence of a father figure in her life. Minjeong's concern was evident, and her gentle approach reflected her genuine care for Hazel's well-being. She wanted to ensure she wasn't intruding but genuinely wished to understand Hazel's family situation to better support her emotionally in the classroom.
"I'm sorry, no, he's not," I admitted vulnerably, feeling a pang of sadness for Hazel's situation. "It's just me and her."
Minjeong listened attentively, her expression a blend of empathy and understanding. Her compassionate gaze offered a sense of comfort amid the delicate conversation. "Thank you for telling me. May I ask what happened?" she inquired gently, her tone reflecting her genuine concern and desire to offer support.
Her respectful approach conveyed a willingness to listen without judgment, creating a safe space for me to share the personal circumstances that led to Hazel growing up without her father's presence.
"He didn't want to take responsibility, so he left," I shared quietly, the weight of those words carrying both sadness and a hint of emotional strain.
Minjeong listened attentively, acknowledging my emotional vulnerability. With a compassionate gesture, she placed a supportive hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry for overstepping," she offered empathetically, her touch a silent reassurance of her understanding.
"No, it's okay," I assured her, appreciating her concern. "You needed to know, so you can help Hazel emotionally if she ever talks about it." My voice held a mix of gratitude for her empathy and a hope that having this insight would aid in providing the support Hazel might need in navigating these sensitive feelings about her family situation.
Minjeong's supportive gesture and words of encouragement brought a sense of solace, yet the weight of being a single mother lingered heavily.
"Just so you know, you are doing a great job caring for her," Minjeong said with a soft smile, her sincerity palpable in the air.
Her acknowledgment struck a chord within me, causing tears to well up. "Thank you," I whispered, feeling an overwhelming mix of gratitude and vulnerability.
In the quiet moment that followed, I added with a sigh, "It's hard being a single mother at times." The admission carried the weight of the challenges and emotions I grappled with, a brief glimpse into the complexities that often accompanied the role I held in Hazel's life.
Minjeong's empathy was both unexpected and deeply appreciated. Her offer of support resonated, bringing a sense of relief in a moment of vulnerability.
"I get it, if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here for you," Minjeong offered, her voice carrying a genuine sincerity that touched my heart.
Her kindness was a beacon of light amid the challenges I faced. I nodded, grateful for her understanding. "Thank you, that means a lot," I replied softly, touched by her gesture of compassion and the willingness to lend an ear when needed. Her willingness to offer support in return conveyed a sense of mutual care and solidarity that I deeply cherished.
"Alright, I'll let you and Hazel head home. Remember, if you need anything, I'm here for you," Minjeong said, her voice filled with reassurance and care.
"Thank you so much, Minjeong," I replied, feeling genuinely grateful for her understanding and support.
With a nod and a gentle smile, Minjeong allowed us to prepare to leave, her words lingering as a comforting reminder that support was just a call away. As I gathered Hazel, I felt a sense of gratitude for having such a caring teacher in her life, someone who not only looked after her education but also offered genuine support in times of need.

The holiday rush had me darting through the grocery store aisles, focused on finding snacks Hazel would enjoy and making sure to grab plenty of fruit—knowing her penchant for it.
Amidst the hustle, my cart unexpectedly collided with another. "I am so sorry," I began to apologize, looking up quickly to see who I'd bumped into.
"Y/n?" the familiar voice exclaimed.
"Minjeong! Oh my god, how are you doing?" I greeted her with surprise and a smile, momentarily pausing my shopping to catch up. "Sorry for bumping into you."
Our chance encounter brought a sense of warmth amidst the holiday chaos. It was a pleasant surprise to meet someone familiar during the bustling preparations, and I was eager to share a quick catch-up with Minjeong.
"I'm doing well. Where's Hazel?" Minjeong asked, noticing her absence.
"She's at my sister's house for a sleepover with her cousins," I explained with a chuckle. "They put on a whole musical dance number last night to convince us to let them have a sleepover."
The memory brought a smile to my face—the sight of Hazel and her cousins enthusiastically performing their 'persuasion' act to sway us into agreeing to the sleepover was both endearing and amusing. It was moments like these that made the holiday season even more special.
"Kids are just too funny. That's why I wanted to become a teacher—because of my love for them and how their minds work," Minjeong shared, her chuckle echoing the sentiment.
"Does that mean you're alone for the night?" she asked, noting Hazel's absence and perhaps sensing my evening plans.
"Yeah, I will be. I'll probably catch up on some shows and have a glass of wine," I replied, contemplating how to spend the evening.
"I mean, I don't want you to be alone. How about you come over to my house? I'll even make you dinner," Minjeong suggested with a warm smile, extending an invitation filled with kindness and consideration.
Her offer was unexpectedly thoughtful, and the prospect of spending the evening in good company was tempting. It was a gesture that touched my heart, knowing that spending time together could bring a sense of comfort during the holiday season.
"I wouldn't want to intrude," I hesitated, feeling grateful for her invitation but also not wanting to impose.
"Not at all. We know each other enough. Think of it as friends hanging out and having fun," Minjeong reassured me, her words carrying a sense of warmth and genuine camaraderie.
Her assurance eased my uncertainty, reminding me of the bond we shared and the comfort of spending time together. It was an invitation extended with sincerity, paving the way for a relaxed and enjoyable evening, free from any formality or obligation.
"Sure, it sounds like fun. Count me in," I replied with a smile, feeling more excited about the evening ahead.
"Great! Here, let me give you my number so I can text you my address," Minjeong offered, reaching out for my phone. I handed it to her, and she swiftly typed in her details.
"There, I'll see you around, let's say 5?" she proposed, finalizing the plans.
"5 works great!" I confirmed, feeling a sense of anticipation for the gathering.
"Great! I'll see you soon!" Minjeong said cheerfully, waving as she walked away, leaving me looking forward to an evening of warmth, good company, and shared laughter during the festive season.
The anticipation of the evening with Minjeong stirred nerves within me, reminiscent of the feeling before a first date. My mind wandered, recalling the last time I felt such jitters—meeting Hazel's father. The similarity sent a rush of conflicting emotions through me.
━━━━━━ʕ•㉨•ʔ━━━━━━━
The upcoming dinner with Minjeong had my nerves all jumbled up. It felt like stepping into uncharted territory, carrying the weight of a first date's anticipation. The pressure to strike the right balance between casual and presentable was real as I picked out my outfit. I settled for a comfortable white sweater and jeans, hoping it wouldn't seem too much or too little.
There was something different about this dinner, a nervousness I couldn't quite shake off. It wasn't just a casual meet-up; it felt significant. Memories of past significant encounters flooded my mind, adding to the nerves of the evening.
The uncertainty loomed, making even the simplest decisions feel like navigating a minefield. Was I overthinking this? Perhaps. But there was an undeniable sense of anticipation mixed with apprehension.
Despite the nerves, there was a curious excitement, a desire to spend time with Minjeong, someone who felt more than just a friend. It was a cocktail of emotions—nervousness, excitement, and a touch of curiosity—creating a whirlwind within me as the time for the dinner drew closer.

Minjeong’s POV
I glanced at the clock, realizing that the evening was fast approaching. Despite my attempts to calm myself, my nerves were on edge. It wasn't just a casual hangout for me; it meant more.
Preparing for Y/n's visit, I found myself fussing over the smallest details. I wanted everything to be perfect, perhaps more than what was necessary for just friends spending time together. Deep down, I held feelings for Y/n that I hadn't confessed, and tonight felt like an opportunity to create a memorable moment.
As I tidied up, thoughts of Y/n filled my mind. I wanted to make a good impression, to be the best version of myself. Each arrangement in the house was meticulously considered, a reflection of the anticipation and excitement I felt about the evening ahead.
Despite the nervousness stirring within, I couldn't deny the flutter of excitement at the prospect of spending time with someone I cared for deeply. Little did I know, tonight might hold a chance to reveal emotions that I had kept hidden for so long.
As I heard the soft knock on my door, signaling Y/n's arrival, my heart skipped a beat. Anticipation surged through me, and I hastily adjusted my clothes while wiping the sweat off my palms. Walking to the door, I felt a rush of nervous excitement.
Opening the door, I was met by Y/n, looking as beautiful as ever. My heart raced faster at the sight of her. "Y/n, welcome!" I greeted her warmly, smiling as I stepped aside to invite her in.
She walked past me, and her delightful perfume lingered in the air. "Minjeong, thank you for inviting me," she said, her smile illuminating the room.
Feeling overwhelmed, I couldn't help but think, 'I could've fainted right there' at the sight of her smile. "I love your home! It's so cozy," she exclaimed, admiring the interior design.
"Thank you, I worked hard to make this house a home," I chuckled nervously, feeling a mix of happiness and nervousness at her compliment.
Her admiration for the cozy atmosphere made my heart swell with pride, but also added to the nerves coursing through me. "It's all thanks to your presence," I almost blurted out, acknowledging how her being there added a special warmth to the space.
"Here, let me help you with that," I offered, assisting her in taking off her jacket and hanging it on the rack.
"Thank you," she replied gratefully.
"Of course, make yourself comfortable," I encouraged, gesturing for her to settle in. "My home is your home." The words slipped out, expressing my genuine desire to make her feel welcome and at ease in my space.
She chuckled softly. "I brought some wine for us to share," she said, holding up the bottle.
"What, you didn't have to," I responded, a hint of surprise in my voice as I took the wine from her hands. Despite my surprise, I couldn't help but appreciate the thoughtful gesture.
"I couldn't come empty-handed," she explained with a smile, her eyes reflecting a hint of excitement about sharing the wine.
"Well, thank you for the wine. We will for sure drink it," I replied gratefully, feeling touched by her considerate gesture.
"Come on, let's eat. You must be starving," I suggested, leading her towards the kitchen and offering her a seat. I went to the cupboard to retrieve some wine glasses, eager to share the wine she had brought. Carefully, I poured us each a glass, ready to start the evening off on a delightful note.

Y/n POV
The dinner conversation flowed effortlessly between Minjeong and I, touching on various topics—work, our interests, Hazel, our past experiences, and more. With each passing moment, I found myself drawn to Minjeong's personality and warmth.
The more I got to know her, the more I found myself liking her. There was a natural ease to our conversation, a comfortable camaraderie that made being around her feel effortless. It was as if I had known her for far longer than just this evening.
It was a strange sensation—one I hadn't felt in a long time. Being around Minjeong stirred up emotions reminiscent of a high school crush, a feeling I hadn't experienced since Hazel's father. The way she made me laugh, the way our conversations flowed, it all felt strangely familiar yet entirely new. It was a whirlwind of emotions, stirring up both excitement and a hint of apprehension, yet also offering a sense of newfound happiness.
"Here, would you like some more wine?" Minjeong asked in a soft tone, offering to refill our glasses.
"I don't know... I still need to get home," I replied, a sense of responsibility tugging at me despite the desire to stay longer.
"You've been drinking. I won't let you drink and drive. I have an extra room for you, so stay and have another drink," Minjeong said, her expression a mix of concern and teasing, playfully convincing me.
"Alright," I said with a giggle, her playful insistence melting away my reservations. The warmth of her concern and the comfort of her invitation made it easy to agree.
Minjeong's sudden pause of the movie drew my attention, and I glanced at her, sensing something was amiss. Her fingers fidgeted nervously, and a flash of anxiety crossed her eyes, making me instinctively reach out, placing my hand on her lap to offer support.
"Minjeong, are you okay?" I asked, my concern evident as I tried to gauge what was troubling her.
Her words spilled out in a rush, "Y/n, I like you," she blurted, immediately covering her mouth in shock. My own eyes widened in surprise at her unexpected confession.
"Shit, sorry, that was not how I planned to confess," she nervously apologized, then took my hands in hers, meeting my gaze with sincerity.
“Y/n I've been wanting to share something with you for a while now. From the first day we connected, I've admired your strength and the incredible love you pour into your role as a single parent. Your dedication to your child and the way you nurture and support them is both inspiring and heartwarming. As we've gotten to know each other, I've come to appreciate your resilience and the depth of your kindness. The more I learn about you, the more I realize what an amazing person you are. Your ability to balance the responsibilities of parenthood with your own aspirations and dreams is something truly admirable. I've found myself drawn to you in a way I didn't expect. Your compassion, your unwavering commitment, and the beautiful way you navigate life have touched my heart. I admire your courage, your ability to love deeply, and the sacrifices you make for your child. I want you to know that I see you, not just as an incredible parent but as an extraordinary individual. Your strength, your warmth, and your resilience have deeply resonated with me. I feel a genuine connection with you that I haven't experienced before. I understand that your child is your priority, and I respect that entirely. But I also wanted to share that I've developed feelings for you beyond friendship. I admire and care for you in a way that goes beyond words. I hope this doesn't complicate things or make you uncomfortable in any way. Your happiness and comfort are incredibly important to me. Regardless of what happens next, I treasure the bond we've formed and value your friendship deeply. I would love nothing more than the chance to take you on a proper date and continue discovering the depths of who you are. Your presence in my life has been a gift, and I would be honored if you'd consider exploring this journey with me. What do you say?"
In that moment of unspoken connection, I sensed the weight of anticipation lingering between us. Minjeong's eyes mirrored a mix of hope and uncertainty, eagerly awaiting my response. But as our gazes locked, a surge of emotions overwhelmed me, rendering words unnecessary.
Without hesitation, I bridged the space between us, feeling a rush of longing and affection. With a gentle yet decisive motion, I cupped her face in my hands, drawing her close. Our lips met in a fervent, passionate kiss that spoke volumes about the emotions stirring within us.
The kiss was an outpouring of pent-up emotions—tenderness, desire, and an unspoken promise of exploring what lay between us. In that heartfelt embrace, time seemed to stand still, enveloping us in a shared moment where words could never capture the depth of our connection.
With a soft pull, I gently drew away, my eyes locked with Minjeong, both of us still lost in the lingering haze of our kiss. "I would love to go on a date with you," I uttered, a smile naturally lighting up my face.
As my words sunk in, Minjeong's initial daze dispersed, replaced by a sudden realization. A radiant smile broke across her face, an expression of pure joy and relief. Without a word, she leaned in, closing the gap between us, her lips meeting mine in another tender, impassioned kiss.
Soft sighs escaped, lost in the symphony of our shared breaths.
The kiss deepened, a slow dance of passion and longing. Our mouths moved in a harmonious rhythm, each touch fueling an insatiable hunger. Fingertips lightly grazed, tracing the contours of cheeks and necks, seeking the warmth and connection that only skin-to-skin contact can offer.
There was an unspoken urgency, a magnetic pull drawing us impossibly closer. The taste of anticipation lingered, mingling with the sweetness of shared desire. In that intimate moment, time seemed to stand still, the world around us fading into insignificance.
As our kiss slowly drew to a tender conclusion, Minjeong gently withdrew, her eyes fixed upon mine, a soft, reverent gaze that held a multitude of unspoken sentiments. There was an intimacy in her touch as she delicately brushed a stray tendril of my hair behind my ear, a tender gesture that conveyed a world of emotion.
"You're beautiful," she murmured, her words carrying a weight of sincerity that sent a rush of warmth coursing through me. It was a simple phrase but uttered with such genuine admiration that it resonated deeply, making my heart flutter.
She pulled me close, inviting me into an embrace that felt like a safe haven, where our bodies molded together in perfect synchrony. The air was charged with the remnants of our shared moment, an ambiance of tenderness and quiet affection that enveloped us.
Nestled against each other, we resumed our cozy position, Minjeong's arms wrapped around me protectively. With a tender smile, she resumed the paused movie, the sound of its soundtrack serving as a soothing backdrop to our shared space.
As the movie's end credits rolled and the room fell into a gentle quiet, Minjeong reached over, switching off the TV before rising from the couch, gently pulling me up with her. There was an effortless ease in her touch as she held me close for a fleeting moment, the connection between us palpable, before guiding me toward her room.
"Let's go get ready for bed," she suggested, her tone gentle and inviting. Following her lead, I trailed behind as she retrieved toothbrushes from her bathroom cabinet, handing one to me with a warm smile. Our simple act of brushing our teeth together felt oddly intimate, our bodies slightly brushing against each other, sharing smiles in the mirror.
After finishing, she fetched a set of clothes from her closet and handed them to me with a kind gesture. "Here, wear these," she said, her considerate nature shining through. I excused myself to change in the bathroom, but as I returned, I inadvertently walked in on Minjeong as she slipped her shirt on, revealing the subtle contours of muscles along her back. A momentary pause hung in the air before she turned, catching me in the act.
"Enjoyed the show?" she teased, a playful smirk gracing her lips, causing a warm flush to spread across my cheeks. "Maybe," I teased back, our laughter filling the room, easing any momentary tension.
"You look amazing in my clothes," she complimented, her eyes meeting mine with a soft gaze. With a subtle nod toward her bed, she extended an invitation. "Come join me in bed."
I hesitated, considering the guest room, but Minjeong's playful insistence rang through her words. "Y/n, I'm not asking, I'm telling you," she teased, her tone lighthearted but determined. Her invitation held a warmth that dissolved any hesitation, leaving me feeling welcomed and embraced in her presence.
Lying in bed, I felt Minjeong's comforting presence envelop me as she drew me into her embrace. A sigh of contentment escaped her lips as she expressed, "I had fun today," her voice carrying a soft, tender tone. I gazed up at her, meeting her eyes, and echoed her sentiment, "Me too," feeling a sense of calmness wash over me, mirroring her contentment.
"Sweet dreams, Y/n," she whispered softly, but I was already on the cusp of sleep, drifting into a serene slumber wrapped in the tranquility of the moment. Her gentle words lingered in the air, offering a soothing backdrop to the peacefulness of the night as sleep began to claim its hold on me.
In the soft haze of the morning light filtering through the windows, I stirred awake, reaching out for Minjeong, only to find the space beside me empty. A faint aroma of breakfast wafted through the air, pulling me out of the cozy embrace of the bed. Curiosity piqued, I ventured out in search of her, finding Minjeong standing by the stove, tending to breakfast.
Unable to resist the urge, I quietly approached her, wrapping my arms around her from behind, nuzzling my face into the warmth of her back, breathing in her comforting scent. "Good morning," she greeted softly, her eyes meeting mine in the reflection of the kitchen window, holding a tender adoration in her gaze as she turned around to reciprocate the hug.
"Morning," I whispered back, reveling in the warmth of her embrace, feeling a tranquil intimacy settle between us. We stood there for a while, entwined in each other's arms, relishing the serene moment that spoke volumes without needing any words. It was a quiet yet profound acknowledgment of the comfort found in each other's presence.
"How was your sleep?" Minjeong inquired, her gentle fingers brushing strands of hair away from my face, a tender smile gracing her lips.
"Amazing with you there," I replied, a genuine smile forming on my face, noting the faint blush that colored Minjeong's cheeks in response to my words. Her warmth was infectious.
"I made us breakfast. Go freshen up a bit, it will be done soon," she suggested, her voice carrying a hint of affection. I leaned in, planting a soft kiss on her cheek in gratitude before heading to freshen up.
Upon my return, I found Minjeong setting the plates down on the table, a spread of breakfast awaiting us. I settled beside her, and together, we indulged in the morning meal, the quiet ambiance of the room filled with a soothing conversation that flowed effortlessly between us.
With every bite, our conversation deepened, sharing thoughts and anecdotes that painted a tranquil atmosphere, where the simple pleasure of each other's company became the highlight of the morning. It was in these tranquil moments, amidst the shared meal, that our connection blossomed, wordlessly affirming the comfort found in each other's presence.
With the last bites of breakfast disappearing, a serene air lingered between us. Minjeong turned to me, affection glistening in her eyes, a subtle hint of nervousness woven into her expression.
"Y/n, I know this may be fast, but will you be my girlfriend?" Her hopeful gaze fixated on me, carrying an earnest desire for my response.
"I would love to be your girl, Minjeong," I replied, my voice filled with adoration and certainty. The warmth of my words seemed to ignite a radiant joy within her.
Minjeong, overcome with giddiness, rose from her seat, drawing me into her embrace. As she pulled away slightly, her hands cupped my face gently, guiding me into a sweet and tender kiss that felt like a gentle promise of a journey yet to unfold.
━━━━━━ʕ•㉨•ʔ━━━━━━━
As the months rolled by, Minjeong and I found ourselves steeped in happiness, our bond growing stronger with each passing day. Around the third month of our relationship, we decided to share the news with Hazel, inviting her into this new chapter of our lives.
Hazel's reaction was beyond heartwarming—she was positively ecstatic. Her eyes lit up with joy, her excitement palpable as she embraced the idea of us being together. Miss Winter, who had been a constant in Hazel's life, was not only her cherished teacher but also someone she deeply admired. Knowing that her mommy had found love with someone as wonderful as Miss Winter filled Hazel with immense happiness.
The acceptance and excitement from Hazel served as a confirmation for us, reassuring us that our decision was not only right but also something that would bring joy and positivity into our lives. Seeing Hazel's enthusiasm and support made our relationship feel even more special and complete.
━━━━━━ʕ•㉨•ʔ━━━━━━━
Two years had swiftly passed, marked by profound moments and cherished memories. Minjeong and I had taken the leap, deciding to intertwine our lives in marriage. For Hazel's 6th birthday, she chose a beach outing, a simple yet joyous celebration.
On the sun-kissed shore, Hazel and Minjeong wandered near the water's edge, engaged in the delightful pursuit of collecting sea shells. Meanwhile, I sat comfortably under the shade of an umbrella, cradling our 5-month-old baby girl, Jade, in my arms. The tranquil sounds of the ocean merged with the laughter of Hazel and the gentle waves, creating a perfect symphony of contentment.
As I watched my family, an overwhelming sense of completeness enveloped me. Everything felt just right, and in that moment, I realized that having my loved ones gathered around me was all I ever needed. The sight of Minjeong and Hazel's joy, the sound of the ocean, and the presence of our little Jade felt like a snapshot of pure happiness, etching a beautiful memory in the album of our lives.

Well, hello there! September has flown by, and I have to say, it was a month. Not the worst, but certainly not the best. In the end, I was not able to read as much as I would have liked, but I managed to scrape together a few delicious fics for you, my beloved mutuals and anyone who happens to come across this reclist (you're my beloved, too!)
Enjoy these fics I've gathered for your October gobbling.
Enterrement de vie de garçon by @wolfpants E, 2.7k
Am I starting a Drarry reclist with a Ron/Viktor fic? Yeah, I am. There's still a solid dose of Drarry in here. There's a solid dose of everyone, actually, and it's amazing. I will forever have the phrase "the gay circle of life" imprinted on my brain. Sexy, hilarious, and incredibly fun.
Scenes from a life by @aideomai E, 33.3k
This is a sequel to Such Great Heights, which is a fantastic fic in and of itself. But, this extended epilogue is just so lovely I decided to rec it on its own. There are a few moments in here that I go back and reread when I need something quick that I know will instantly lift me up. Getting to see the characters aideomai created in the initial fic continue developing and settling into various stages of life brings such comfort and warmth, and I just can't get over how beautiful this entire epilogue is. Some of the funniest moments I've ever seen in fic lie in here, and every time I reread I find something new to love.
Two Weeks by @shiftylinguini E, 21.9k
I've been turned to jelly. A fuck or discomfort fic, if you will. I really, truly, don't think I've ever met a hornier Harry. An adorable Harry & Ron dynamic. Draco is very, very sexy. The parallels between the Magical medical world and the real life one are hilarious, and give you a good chuckle if you've ever been given a pile of pamphlets by your therapist.
Semiplume by @tackytigerfic T, 923
I'm furthering my tackytiger agenda. Very cute and domestic, with beautiful descriptions of everything going on inside Draco's head. Dispels the rumors that Scorpius came from an egg. Though, I did enjoy the debates surrounding that. Harry eats crisps.
Terrible People by @wolfpants, @getawayfox E, 52.8k
Once again, I am reccing two wolfpants fics in one list. I loved getting to follow along as this fic came out, and plan to read it again (and again.) Gay cruises, healer Draco, and stunning art. What else could you want?
Five Weddings and a Potions Accident by @lauren3210
Five weddings, a potions accident, and a scrumptious twist.
Alas, we have reached the end. I sincerely hope you found something new, or that I have reminded you of a past favorite that you can revisit. Until November 1st, friends.
xx, Moon.

WEN JUNHUI
CAT COOKIES.
this man is a cat enthusiast, and a cat himself
so why WOULDN'T you guys bake cat cookies?
since u guys didn't have cookie cutters you guys cut the kitty shapes with a knife
they turn out a bit wonky though
as long as it tastes good, its fine 😁👍🏼
builds legos w/ you #2 (first mention in vcu ver.)
the amount of giggle fits you two would have while decorating them- omg
and while you're icing them, the tube of frosting pops and then u guys have a little goofy faced deformed kitty
jun would prob name it jerry before u guys ate it 💀
KWON SOONYOUNG (HOSHI)
if jun got kitty cookies hoshi would most definitely make tiger cupcakes with you
would even look up a tutorial on yt on how to make tiger print on the inside of the cupcake
which also turn out a bit weird, but hoshi still likes it
there would most likely be a mistake while its baking, because hoshi accidentally put 50 minutes instead of 20 minutes on the oven timer 😭😭
you guys are in the middle of watching madagascar while cuddling on the couch until you smell smoke coming from the oven, and then you both have that "oh shit" look on your faces
the cupcakes burnt to a crisp. and your house almost did too 🤧
but you guys are okay, it took a while for all the smoke to clear out tho
hoshi may or may not have stayed away from baking for a while after that though 😓
XU MINGHAO (THE8)
would probably try baking something more difficult like macarons
definitely the best baker in pfu
follows recipes exactly as is as well, and also corrects you before you accidentally put too much salt because you read the measurements wrong (def not speaking from experience of failed macarons 👀)
the softest, most delicious macarons made by him
imagine after they've settled and are ready to eat you guys have this cute little tea party-esq setup and the macarons to eat while drinking tea
he would be SO happy if u liked them, and would try to make them by himself to surprise you next time 💗
LEE CHAN (DINO)
would also be a decent baker
you guys tried baking a cake together for your anniversary and it turned out AMAZING
he most definitely made the decorations look beautiful
cuddles while its in the oven #3 (others mentioned in vcu ver)
movie night while you two devour that cake (i am a firm believer that chan is a highschool musical enthusiast, and would do a marathon w/ you)
forgets to tilt the bowl when using the beater/whisk, so flour and eggs get all over the kitchen 😭
everything ends up fine though
kisses at the end because you two spent so much time baking
Tumblr media
A/N - PFU VER DONE !! i hope y'all enjoy this, and i decided to write it so soon because the idea of jun and cat cookies made me want to post this immediately

Under the Mistletoe
In the seclusion of her office, Lexa sat with her fingers steepled, staring at the softly glowing screen of her computer. The city outside was draped in festive lights, but her mind was far from festive. She was grappling with a surge of nerves, the kind that fluttered and twisted in her stomach. The company's Christmas party was approaching, a grand affair that, this year, held a significance far beyond corporate celebration.
Lexa and Clarke had come a long way from their initial arrangement. Over the past three months, what had started as a convenient façade had blossomed into something much deeper. They had acknowledged their feelings, stepping into the uncharted waters of a true relationship. Yet, despite this new understanding, Lexa found herself hesitating.
Asking Clarke to the party as her alpha, openly and without the safety net of their previous pretense, felt daunting. It was a public acknowledgement of their relationship, a declaration to her colleagues and the world. Lexa feared the scrutiny and the whispered judgments, but more than that, she feared what it might mean for Clarke.
Taking a deep breath, she reached for her phone. Her heart pounded in her ears as she dialed Clarke's number, each ring amplifying her anxiety.
"Hey, Lexa," Clarke's voice came through, strong and reassuring.
"Clarke, hi," Lexa's voice wavered slightly. "I was wondering if you… if you'd be my date for the company Christmas party. As my alpha," she added quickly, wanting to make her intentions clear.
There was a pause, and Lexa's heart sank a little. Had she been too forward? Had she misread their situation?
"Lexa," Clarke finally spoke, her voice calm and steady. "I'd love to. But are you sure? This is a big step for us."
Lexa exhaled, a wave of relief washing over her. "I am sure. I just… I'm nervous, Clarke. This will be the first time everyone will see us together, really together. And I'm worried about how it will be for you."
Clarke's chuckle came through the phone, warm and affectionate. "Lexa, being with you, openly, as your alpha, is exactly what I want. Don't worry about me. We'll face whatever comes together."
The tight knot of anxiety in Lexa's chest began to unravel. "Thank you, Clarke. That means everything to me. Having you there, not as a facade but as you… as us, it's more than I could ask for."
They talked a little more, finalizing the details, but Lexa's heart felt lighter with each word. As they ended the call, she leaned back in her chair, allowing herself a small smile. The party would be a turning point, the first of many, she hoped, where they could be themselves, an alpha and omega embarking on a journey together. The nerves were still there, but so was the excitement of a future with Clarke.
The evening air was filled with a crisp winter chill, but inside Lexa's apartment, a warm anticipation hung in the air. She stood, a figure of elegance in her cocktail dress, the soft fabric hugging her curves in all the right places. Her hair fell in gentle waves around her shoulders, and her makeup was done with impeccable taste, enhancing her natural beauty.
As Lexa opened the door, her breath caught in her throat. Clarke stood there, exuding a quiet confidence in a sleek, well-tailored tuxedo. The contrast of the dark suit against her strong frame and the gentle glint in her eyes made Lexa's heart race. Clarke was strikingly handsome, and in that moment, Lexa felt a surge of attraction stronger than she had ever experienced.
"Wow, Clarke… you look amazing," Lexa breathed out, her eyes wide with admiration.
A soft, knowing smile played on Clarke's lips as she stepped inside. "You're absolutely breathtaking, Lexa," she replied, her gaze lingering appreciatively.
For a moment, they stood in the doorway, the tension between them a palpable thing. Then, Clarke stepped closer, her eyes locked onto Lexa's. Gently, she cupped Lexa's cheek with her hand, leaning in. Lexa's heart pounded in her chest as Clarke's lips met hers in a kiss that was both tender and filled with unspoken passion.
The kiss was a spark that ignited a warmth in Lexa, chasing away any lingering nervousness. It felt like a confirmation of their connection, a seal on the new chapter they were beginning together. Lexa responded instinctively, her hands finding their way to Clarke's shoulders, pulling her closer.
As they parted, Lexa's eyes fluttered open to meet Clarke's, now sparkling with affection and a hint of playful mischief. "Ready to make our debut?" Clarke asked, her voice low and inviting.
Lexa nodded, a smile spreading across her face. "More than ready."
The night was alive with the spirit of the holidays as Clarke smoothly navigated her red sports car through the city streets. The car's engine hummed a low, steady rhythm, a counterpoint to the festive lights and decorations that adorned the city. Lexa sat beside her, the warmth and comfort of the car's interior providing a stark contrast to the bustling, chilly evening outside.
As they wove through the traffic, Lexa couldn't help but admire Clarke's effortless driving. Clarke's hands were steady on the wheel, each turn and maneuver executed with precision and confidence. The car seemed like an extension of herself, a testament to her control and poise.
Lexa glanced out the window, watching the blur of holiday lights and decorations that lined the streets. There was something inherently exciting about riding in Clarke's sports car. It wasn't just the luxury or the speed; it was the feeling of being in a space that was distinctly Clarke's. The interior of the car, from the sleek dashboard to the comfortable leather seats, seemed to reflect Clarke's personality – elegant, sophisticated, and just a bit daring.
Turning her gaze back to Clarke, Lexa found herself caught in the allure of the moment. Clarke's profile was illuminated by the soft glow of the dashboard lights, highlighting her strong jawline and the determined set of her eyes. Lexa's heart fluttered at the sight, and she felt a deep sense of contentment wash over her.
As they continued their drive, the city gradually gave way to the more open roads leading to the country club. The traffic thinned, and Clarke took the opportunity to gently accelerate, the car responding instantly to her touch. The smooth surge of speed brought a thrill that made Lexa's pulse quicken.
"You handle this car like a pro," Lexa commented, a note of admiration in her voice.
Clarke glanced at her with a grin. "I love driving it. It's not just about getting from point A to point B; it's about enjoying the ride."
Lexa smiled, feeling the truth of Clarke's words. The journey to the country club in Clarke's sports car was indeed an experience to savor. The sense of motion, the purr of the engine, and Clarke's confident presence beside her – it was exhilarating.
As they approached the country club, the elegant facade of the building came into view, its windows glowing warmly against the night sky. Clarke eased the car into the parking area, finding a spot with ease.
The engine fell silent, and for a moment, they remained seated, the quietness of the car enveloping them. Lexa looked over at Clarke, her heart full.
"I could definitely get used to this," Lexa said softly, "riding in this car with you."
Clarke reached over, taking Lexa's hand in hers, giving it a gentle squeeze. "I hope you do," she replied, her voice tender.
Together, they exited the car, stepping into the crisp night air. The excitement of the evening lay ahead, but for Lexa, the journey there with Clarke had already made the night special. The car, the drive, Clarke's presence – it was a perfect beginning to what promised to be an unforgettable night.
The grandeur of the country club's interior, adorned with festive decorations and the soft melody of holiday music, provided a splendid backdrop as Lexa and Clarke made their entrance. Lexa, exuding elegance in her cocktail dress, felt a mix of excitement and nerves. Clarke, embodying the poised confidence of an alpha, was an anchor of strength beside her.
Their first encounter was with a group of division presidents, influential figures within the company. As Lexa approached, she felt their eyes on them, appraising and curious. She could sense their surprise at seeing her accompanied, a stark contrast to her usual solitary presence at such events.
"Good evening," Lexa greeted, her voice steady despite the butterflies in her stomach. Clarke's hand resting lightly on the small of her back was a reassuring presence.
"Lexa, we didn't expect you to bring someone," one of the presidents remarked, his attempt to mask his surprise only partially successful.
Lexa smiled, a touch of defiance in her eyes. "This is Clarke Griffin, my alpha," she introduced confidently. Clarke extended her hand, her demeanor both respectful and assertive.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all," Clarke said, her voice carrying an undercurrent of confidence. Her handshake was firm, the grip of an alpha that spoke of strength and assurance.
The presidents exchanged brief looks, their surprise giving way to polite acceptance. The conversation quickly shifted to business, a terrain Lexa navigated with her usual acumen. Clarke listened attentively, chiming in occasionally with insightful comments that displayed her understanding of the industry.
Lexa noted with satisfaction the way Clarke's contributions were received – with nods of acknowledgment and interested follow-up questions. Clarke wasn't just her alpha; she was earning respect in her own right.
Amidst the glittering ambiance of the country club, Lexa and Clarke gracefully approached a group where the corporate echelon, including several board members and CEO Thelonious Jaha, stood conversing. The air around these influential figures was heavy with a mix of business and subtle power plays, the kind of atmosphere where every word and gesture mattered.
As they neared, Lexa’s demeanor was one of calm assurance, bolstered by Clarke’s steady alpha presence beside her. Clarke, familiar with the group from previous encounters, exuded a composed confidence.
"Mr. Jaha, good evening," Lexa greeted, offering a nod to the CEO and the other board members. "I hope you've been well."
Thelonious Jaha, a figure of both respect and authority, turned with a welcoming smile. "Lexa, always a pleasure. And Clarke," he extended his greeting, his familiarity evident, "how’s the practice? Keeping you busy, I imagine?"
Clarke responded with a respectful nod and a warm smile. "Indeed, Mr. Jaha. It's thriving, and there's never a dull moment. It’s challenging but rewarding work."
Jaha nodded, his expression showing genuine interest. "That’s excellent to hear. It's important to have a pursuit that drives you. Keeps you grounded."
The conversation gently meandered from Clarke’s medical practice to more general topics, including recent advancements in healthcare. Clarke’s contributions were insightful, reflecting her deep understanding and passion for her work. The board members, some meeting Clarke in this context for the first time, listened intently, visibly impressed by her expertise and the eloquence with which she shared her views.
Lexa, observing the interactions, felt a deep sense of pride and admiration. Clarke, her partner, was shining in her element, effortlessly engaging with some of the most influential individuals in her professional world. The respect she commanded as an alpha, combined with her intellectual prowess, made her an undeniable presence in the room.
As the discussion eventually shifted back to company matters, Lexa seamlessly re-engaged with the conversation, her insights and leadership abilities coming to the forefront. Throughout their interaction, the partnership between Lexa and Clarke was evident – they were a team in every sense, complementing each other’s strengths and standing united in their personal and professional lives.
After some time, as they politely excused themselves to continue mingling, Jaha’s parting remark carried a tone of respect and acknowledgment. "Always good to see both of you. Lexa, your leadership continues to impress us, and Clarke, your accomplishments are commendable. You make a remarkable team."
Moving away from the group, Lexa felt a comforting sense of validation. The evening was not just an opportunity to socialize; it was a reaffirmation of her and Clarke's growing partnership. Together, they were more than just an alpha and an omega; they were a dynamic duo, respected and recognized for their individual strengths and their synergistic relationship.
As the evening wore on, the festive spirit of the Christmas party seemed to fill every corner of the country club. The soft sound of laughter and music mingled with the clinking of glasses, creating a warm and convivial atmosphere. Lexa and Clarke, having navigated the evening’s interactions with grace and poise, found themselves momentarily at the edge of the lively crowd, enjoying a brief respite.
They stood close to each other, engaged in a light-hearted conversation, when Anya approached with a playful grin on her face. "Well, well, look where you two have ended up," she said, her eyes glinting with amusement.
Lexa and Clarke followed Anya’s gaze upwards and found themselves standing under a sprig of mistletoe, its green leaves and red berries hanging innocuously from the ceiling. The realization brought a flush to Lexa's cheeks and a sparkle to Clarke’s eyes.
"Looks like tradition calls for some action," Anya teased, her smile widening as she observed their reaction.
Clarke, with a mischievous look in her eye, turned to Lexa. “What do you say? Shall we honor the tradition?” Her voice was low, tinged with a playful yet tender note.
Lexa, caught in the moment and the warmth of Clarke’s gaze, nodded shyly. The room around them seemed to blur into the background, the noise fading away as Clarke leaned in closer.
With a gentleness that contrasted with the mischief in her eyes, Clarke’s lips met Lexa’s in a sweet, tender kiss. It was a soft, affectionate gesture, yet it held within it the depth of their feelings for each other. The world around them seemed to stand still, the kiss a delicate seal on their bond.
As they parted, Lexa’s eyes fluttered open to meet Clarke’s, now soft with affection. A gentle blush colored her cheeks, a mix of joy and the slight embarrassment of the public display.
Anya, watching the scene, let out a delighted laugh. "That’s the spirit," she exclaimed, her tone warm with approval. "You two are absolutely adorable together."
Lexa smiled, her heart still racing from the kiss. Clarke’s arm slipped around her waist, a gesture of comfort and closeness. “Thank you, Anya,” Lexa replied, her voice steady but still tinged with the remnants of the moment’s magic.
The evening continued, with the partygoers moving around them, but for Lexa and Clarke, that brief moment under the mistletoe felt like a poignant affirmation of their relationship. They were more than just colleagues or friends; they were partners, united by a bond that was both tender and strong.
As they rejoined the festivities, hand in hand, Lexa couldn’t help but feel a sense of completeness. With Clarke by her side, she felt ready to face whatever challenges and joys the future might bring. The kiss under the mistletoe was a symbol of their love, a promise of all the days to come.

"Poe is a timid, cute looking man who enjoys writing books about you and him together, married and having sex—"
Would you be willing to write parts of this weird books?
Also your amazing<3
Ehe, thank you anon! ˙˚ʚ(´◡`)ɞ˚˙
Tumblr media
Warning(s) : Suggestive, a little gore, freak poe.
Tumblr media
Poe fantasizes about you all the time yet he cant bring himself to make a move towards you. So, to cope up with it he made books about the both of you together. The first book is called ' My lover and I'.
________________
-Edgar Allan Poe's Point of view.
On a faithful and sunny day , is where i met my first love. I had been stressing out on my newbie partner, he's clumsy and would trip and fall on air. He is starting to annoy me but he is too nice to get yelled at and me being so timid that i can't even talk properly.
Ah!
Oh no, thats not a good sign—
SPLASH!
"AHHH! POE-SAN I AM SO SORRY! "... My documents... My project... Its wet... ohhhh NOOoO! Boss is going to kill me! I have to pass this by tomorrow and i now its wet! I just finished it awhile ago are you serious?!
I looked down feeling miserable;ignoring my clutz of a partner apologizing to me. I grabbed my things and head out without a word. I mean, who would forgive and forget about this! This is by due tomorrow! And i have to start all over again!
Now you might think im being overacting and saying i should just blowdry it but no. My boss is too picky and when he sees a mess on any report he will make them re-write it again and decreasing their pay check for a week. And i can't have that! The limited edition Karl plushie is already out;i need to get that plushie! I've been working my ass off because just to buy that thing. And its expensive as hell! If i wont buy it there will be no next time.
-3rd person Point of view.
Poe grumbled stomping on the ground;cursing the world. Bystanders looked at him with a confused and weird expression, with poe acting like that no-one walked near him and kept their distance. They might have think he's a madman.
"verfluche diese heilige Welt. Verbrennen Sie es zu knusprig mit diesen sich einmischenden Leuten darin. verflucht alles. verflucht..."
(curse this sacred world. burn it to crisp with these meddling people in it. curse it all. curse it..)
A man heard his strange curses and was intrigued by poe. He listened to poe continually curse the world and more specifically—his clutz of a partner. He laugh quietly making his way towards poe. "Du solltest solche Leute nicht verfluchen, weißt du?". Poe got startled by the sudden voice and looked up to see a man in black. Poe stood completely still by the man's beauty. Poe knows German but he isn't fluent enough to understand it well.
"Pardon...? "
"Oh, you don't understand me? I thought you know german. "
"Well, yes. I do know german but im not that good yet so i don't understand what you said... " The man smiled and translated what he said in English (you shouldn't curse people like that you know?).
"Ohhhhh... " Poe nodded then blushed when he realize that the man understood him. 'Ah! How embarrassing!'.
The man laugh at poe's red face with poe even more embarrassed. "You look like a good lad, what's your name?i am (Male name)" With his short introduction, his coat flew up from the wind, his hair flying back ever so slightly. Poe saw his hidden face, he could feel his heart beat.
"Poe.... Edgar Allan Poe... " He whispered enough to (Male name) to hear. "Its nice to meet you, edgar. "
I think im inlove...
_________________
Now, after your interaction. Poe seems to be very attached to you. When both of you got in a. Relationship with each other, poe clings onto you whenever you go. Poe cooks for you, cleans for you and works for you. He insisted to do everything and for you to relax in the house, but of course you cant let your dearest boyfriend to get overworked. So you continued your job with poe doing all the house works.
Few years later. Both of you are married and started a family. You two had adopted a boy that was named ' Cooper ' .
A very romantic and fluffy book eh? Now. Lets head on to the erotic ones.
_________________
If i remember it correctly... Poe only haves 3 or 5 books that are fluff and romantic while the others are erotic. 10 to 15 erotic books...
How bizarre.
How bizarre.
__________________
-3rd person point of view.
Edgar Allan Poe... What a beautiful name, no? A tall handsome man, such cute features, his waist so small, his eyes rolling back every time (Male name) thrust in him. The timid mans eyes always capture his lovers attention.
(Male name) always loved his eyes, those eyes looking at him, those eyes covered by poe's hair, those beautiful violent eyes that someday he will gouged out of those eye socket of his. He tried to test his waters and asked poe what he would do if he would have gouged his eyes out during intimacy. Poe supringly, didn't mind and agreed on the idea! He even said to keep his eye so it would remind (Male name) that por is always watching him.
With a bright and petite look comes with a messy mind and kinks.
(Male name) recently knew that poe is a masochist and a freak which is a good combination. He himself is a sadistic maniac too. How bloody romantic.
Maybe one day they will drank their bloods as a promise.

Poe scribbled on his paper with karl clearly disturbed sitting on his shoulder reading the paper. You can almost feel like the raccoon said 'What the fuck'. Karl could not handle such gore anymore and jumped off poe's shoulder.
"Ah! Karl, where are you going? " poe halted his writing looking down at the raccoon.
"Rawr." Im getting the fock out of here away from your twisted ass.
"Huh?! You we're reading my notes! " Poe blushed heavily, feeling embarrassed that his friend raccoon saw his sick mind.
"Rawr, rawr. " Of course i am, i got curious on what you were writing. And you were also panting. You're such a weirdo. Im telling (Male name).
"W—WAIT NO! KARL COME BACK HERE! "
And there goes the two bolting outside the office, karl went to start his journey on finding the man while Poe is starting his hunt;trying to find the small raccoon.
Little did they know that ranpo and (Male name) was behind poe all this time.
"Damn, i didn't know he had this in him. " Ranpo chewed on his lollipop looking at the paper poe had written.
"I definitely did not see this coming. " Ranpo snicker at him, ranpo took out his phone and took a picture of the paper .
"What are you going to do with that? " "Blackmail."
" Understandable. "

Pokemon: Paldean Winds Episode 1 Review - GO WATCH THIS RIGHT NOW!
I forgot Paldean Winds started today. Holy Mother of Arceus, it was AMAZING! The animation was crisp and beautiful, courtesy of Wit Studio, Ufotable, Liden Films and Studio Hibari. If Gen 8 had Twilight Wings, Paldean Winds is the Gen 9 equivalent. It’s only the first episode and I love it already!
Tumblr media
It tells an original story that still follows the core theme of treasure hunting. There are three original characters all with their own unique personalities and stories with Ohara being the first focus. Ohara is a talented flutist who has been experiencing burn out and pressure due to parental expectations as her father is a renowned conductor. Flute has been her life, but she’s unsure if she still has the passion for it. She wants to quit, but she’s unsure what do with her life afterwards. She’s also tasked with making a promotional video for the academy with Aliquis and Hohma, but she’s still trying to find herself before she can help with it. It’s thanks to a chance encounter with Arven, an angry Cetitan and the help of her loyal Fuecoco that she realizes that she loves playing the flute and it is her treasure alongside her partner Pokemon. The video is only 11 minutes long, but the way it managed to convey an entire story and message in that amount of time is amazing.
I think Ohara’s story can be related to those who are following their parents’ footsteps in their respective fields. This got me thinking about how I had no talent for piano despite my mom being a piano teacher. I quit piano as a kid and spend my childhood wondering what I’d become before walking the path of becoming a writer and here I am as one; I do want to learn piano again someday.
The animation was amazing. The details they put in was immaculate. There were three scenes that stood out to me in terms of animation. The first is showing off how small Gimmighoul is. It’s a very tiny Pokemon, so for the camera angle to show off how big everything and everyone is compared to its small frame was seriously amazing. The scene with Tinkaton playfully chasing after Corviknight was beautiful as well. They seriously kept to the lore presented in Tinkaton’s Dex entry regarding her history with the Raven Pokemon. I loved the small detail of her holding her trainer’s hand and then letting it go to chase after it. Lastly, everything regarding the Glaseado Mountains was seriously high quality. The way Arven was running away from the angry Cetitan was extremely well-animated. Seriously, there’s a reason why Wit Studio is highly praised. On top of that, ufotable and Liden Films were involved in the project too! I think every anime fan knows how well ufotable animates; I’m not too familiar with Liden Films’ anime projects, but they do have their fair share of quality works.
The original characters have so much personality. Ohara is reserved and unsure of herself. Aliquis keeps to himself, but has a short temper. Hohma is easily excitable and knowledgable. Fuecoco has so much personality as well! The way it is so loyal to Ohara is sweet. It’s a bit childish, but still goes out of its way to find her flute moved my heart. The fact that they went out of their way to give these characters so much life and personality shows the love and care this project has. This also applies to the actual canon characters from the games! Nemona has a small cameo, but her passion for battles still lingers when she gets super excited to teach younger students about Terastal. Arven’s stoic personality shows too as it’s canon that he doesn’t really involve himself with others unless they help him out. This is applied here. Arven was just walking by and staring at Ohara, not caring about her situation or what she’s doing on the mountain. He talks to her after she helps him out and then they bond a bit over having high status parents; he then tells her to cherish her Fuecoco. Clavell isn’t shown much, but he’s still the same director who cares a lot about his students. I also love the details of the Academy teachers attending Ohara’s band concert alongside Nemona. Seriously, this animated series is super high quality and I’m getting way too emotional over it.
The voice acting is really good too! I actually watched this in both English and Japanese and both sides did a great job in terms of acting. Most of the English actors are relatively new faces (aside from Pete Zarustica who voices Clavell as he’s a veteran voice actor for Pokemon and other dubs), but they did an amazing job. I really like Cat Protano’s acting as Ohara. She really nails it. I hope that the other episodes focuses on the other characters because I want to see more!
This anime only has its first episode as of today and there will only be four episodes, but I totally recommend watching this. Whether you’re a long-time Pokemon fan or a casual anime watcher, this is a definite must-watch! Please watch it! It’s on Youtube, so go over there and immerse yourself in the beauty that is Paldean Winds.

teachers aide, part 3
chapter three
Summary: Ellie is jealous of readers and Abbys frequent meet ups.
Warnings: recreational drug use, foul language.
The prospect of meeting up with Abby was a little nerve wracking, you saw her multiple times a week however when she saw you in class it wasn't normal you. It was professional you, scholarly you, physics major you. It was a different you that Ellie saw when you laid in her bed high and a different you that your family saw when you came home for vacations. The you that Abby would meet today at lunch was the closest to how you actually were, that is if you had a stable sense of identity. You and Abby had coordinated lunch through texts, you exchanged numbers in the past with many students in case they had questions about assignments and Abby was one of them. The two of you decided upon Ruston Coffee, it was a quick walk on campus and had your favorite drinks and treats.
You got dressed in something you felt the most comfortable in, you were in a good mood, practically glowing, getting free lunch was always exciting especially for a slightly broke college student. You wondered why exactly Abby wanted to take you out, was it really to make up for the embarrassment or did she need an excuse to spend time with you? Either way you were getting free lunch so It doesn't really matter.
Once ready you grabbed your necessary belongings and headed out, the walk was about seven minutes and you enjoyed the crisp fall air brushing across your face. Once entering the smell of coffee beans and vanilla filled your senses, enveloping you in a sense of calm it was truly a very cozy place to be. Abby was already there, she spotted you and smiled, showing off her perfect teeth. She was sitting down at a booth and beckoned you to join her.
“Hey.” She said softly as you sat down, “I got your favorite.” She pushed a mug towards you as well as a plate with your regular meal on it.
You looked surprised, it was your order, perfectly done all ready for you.
“How’d you know?” You questioned, taking a sip of the drink, Abby looked slightly nervous until you gave an approving smile.
“That is my favorite.”
“I'm observant, and I have a good memory. I see you here nearly every morning and noon and you get the same thing.”
“I'm a woman of habit.” You shrugged. Abby smiled watching you enjoy yourself, digging into your meal. Her eyes scanned over your face, your body language, your relaxed posture. Everything seemed so natural she could tell you felt comfortable with her, and that made her heart pound with joy. You were beautiful, a different kind of beautiful she saw in class. There you were strict, powerful, in your element and here you were simply at ease. It was adorable and she couldn't get enough of it. She wanted more of you.
“So, I wanted to say I'm sorry about Owen, I can tell he annoys you.”
You took a break from eating, looking up at Abby through long lashes, she swooned.
“None of my students annoy me. I'm just… disappointed in their behavior at times.”
“Either way, I'm sorry. He embarrassed both of us in front of everyone.”
“That's his apology to give, not yours, so don't worry Abby.”
Oh how she loved when you said her name.
“Still though, it was embarrassing”
“That I can agree on”
“So how's your classes going?”
“Being a med student is a lot of work, but I'm managing, TA’s like you help a lot y/n”
“That means a lot, I try my best to be a good TA since I want to be a physics teacher and professor one day.”
“You're doing an amazing job and I am really glad to have you.” Abby spoke softly, resting a hand on yours, hers were much larger, stronger, calloused but in an odd way it was comfortable.
You smiled, “I'm happy to help.”
Abby loved everything about you, watching you smile at her made her fall deeper into your trap. Almost like a siren song. You were tantalizing, she wanted more more more.
And so routine took place, you would meet up with Abby at lunch, get the same thing and talk. Sometimes she came with questions about lessons and you had answers. After a while of this routine, someone got jealous.
You were in Ellie’s dorm once again, yet this time she had a sour look on her face.
“Are you mad at me or something?” You mumbled, laying on her chest looking up at her. “You've hardly spoken with me today.”
“I saw you, yesterday, on your little date.”
“Date?” You sat up, “What date?”
Ellie rolled her eyes, “Don't play dumb, I know your high but you can't be serious.”
“Date?”
“Yesterday at lunch I saw you all cozy in a booth with Anderson.”
“Oh no that wasn't a date, I've been tutoring and meeting up with her at lunch this past week.”
“Looked like a date, the way she looks at you.”
“What?”
Ellie then sat up, “You cannot be that oblivious.”
“Els, what the fuck are you talking about?”
Her eyes softened a bit at the nickname. Still she had her guard up.
“She looks at you like she… like she likes you.”
“Oh please Ellie this isn't kindergarten. Anderson is my friend, just like how you're my friend.”
Ellie’s mood deflated.
“So you just snuggle up with all of your friends then hm?”
You were too high for this.
“No, just you.”
Something about that answer satisfied Ellie but still you had basically friendzoned her. Could you be this stupid? “But I'm just a friend.”
“Ellie, where is this coming from?”
“You know what, nevermind just stay away from Anderson.”
You knew you wouldn't, you liked spending time with Abby and Ellie, whatever feud they had was beyond you. So, you lied. “Okay can we just, nap? I'm tired.”
Ellie looked into your eyes, she wanted to be firm with you, to tell you no that she shouldn't be laying with you, but oh, holding you felt so natural, so right. She couldn't say no.
“Okay babe.” Ellie pulled you down with her, laying on her chest she had her arms around your waist.
Ellie felt better now that she thought you'd stay away from Abby. Of course, you weren't her girlfriend, but that didn't stop her from being a little jealous, perhaps possessive over you. She had you first, maybe it was petty and immature to think that way but for once in her life she wanted to be selfish. She wanted you to herself. And she would fight for that.

I've been meaning to spread some Andor love for a while. Huge thank you to the people at @andorappreciation for giving me a push to put my thoughts out into the world! I've loved seeing everyone's posts, and wanted to throw in my two cents. Warning: Long post incoming, continues after the cut
I think Andor is the best thing Star Wars has put out since the last 4 episodes of The Clone Wars show (which were amazing, and another thing I could go on about, but that’s not today’s theme). I’d say it’s the most consistently good thing Star Wars has put out, ever. Please keep in mind I am not much of a critic, but still. I’ve watched a lot of Star Wars stuff.
Please note the "consistently good". There's so much Star Wars stuff out there, it's hard to say what's the 'best'. And best is very subjective! I think Andor is noteworthy for having 12 episodes that all felt equally great. There were certainly some that stood out above the rest (One Way Out comes to mind), but none of them seemed worse than the others, or out of place.
Most Star Wars media has a "it was really good, but...". The original trilogy was all around pretty good, but I'm more of a prequel era person. That being said, I'll be the first to admit that the prequels had some room for improvement, especially in the dialogue department. The Clone Wars show was very good, but there were a lot of lackluster episodes in between the main plot. Rebels was good, but it was aimed at a younger audience, and doesn't quite stand up to some of the other shows. The Mandalorian was good, but definitely fell apart in later seasons (which I'm aware Andor could still do). I could go on. We'll need to see how they do with future seasons, but I have nothing but good things to say about season 1.
Andor was visually amazing, in a way that The Mandalorian and other recent live action shows haven’t quite gotten. I think some of it can be attributed to them shooting on more practical sets. One of the most breathtaking settings was shot in the Scottish Highlands. There were wide aerial drone shots that they never would have been able to get without being on location.
They also used color really, really well. Whenever the show was in Empire territory, everything was bright lights, hard lines, sharp corners. Black and white and gray, clean outlines without a speck of dust. Outside their control, everything became more natural. It was gritty and dirty, with lots of neutrals. On Ferrix, there were rusty earth tones. On Aldhani, beautiful green rolling hills. On Kenari, earthy greens and jungle vines. When Luthen goes underground on Coruscant, it immediately shifts from bright lights to soft shadows. Away from the Imperial color scheme, back towards the natural colors of the Rebels.
When you go back to Coruscant, in Mon Mothma’s house, you can still see the influence of the Empire. While the colors have shifted from black and white, everything else screams Empire. The same crisp lines and hard shapes. It’s pretty, but empty. Much like the life she lives. You can try to cover it up, but she’s still in the Empire’s home base.
Every location was visually recognizable. As soon as you see the screen you can tell where the characters are. And so much of it was new! No more sandy Tatooine, full of characters that all inexplicably know one another. Every location was new, or made sense to be added, but it still felt connected with the rest of Star Wars.
There were also so many amazing visual moments. The whole scene with the Eye of Aldahni was breathtaking. Tragic, poetic, and visually stunning. I loved watching Mon Mothma play her political game on Coruscant. There were a few shots of her completely alone in the frame that took my breath away. Cassian had a similar shot on Kenari, looking out over the quarry. Luthen in the tunnel. The prisoners on Narkina 5. The final march on Ferrix.
I also loved the costumes. Not even in a "look at the attention to detail" way, just an "I want that outfit. I WANT IT!!!"
All the characters were so well developed, even those that only got a little bit of screen time. Everyone had a personality, their own quirks and motives. Everyone contributed to the story in their own way, no matter how small. On both sides too, Empire and Rebellion. The one thing about characters I do have to say is I have my fingers crossed that Dedra and Syrill don't get together. Just, please no.
And the music. The bells. The native people of Aldahni. The funeral march. It was so, so, so good.
The dialogue was also spectacular, but if I were to talk about that it would pretty much be me quoting various lines and saying “Listen to that! Wasn’t it amazing? IT WAS SO AMAZING!!!!" So I’m just going to say it was ridiculously good and leave it at that.
The whole show is dark, gritty, and down to Earth. We know, going into it, how the story ends. We know pretty much everyone is doomed. But they still make us care. The ending was amazing, tying up loose ends, and feeling like a fulfilling ending, while still leaving plenty of story threads to pick up at a later date. The final scene, of the Death Star coming together, means we can't forget for a moment how the story ends, no matter how much we might wish otherwise.
I loved it. (You probably had no idea). I would highly recommend it, regardless of whether or not you’re a Star Wars fan, or have even ever watched a Star Wars movie. If you’re not convinced, just watch the teaser trailer. The teaser trailer specifically, it’s so good, I’ve probably watched it at least a dozen times. Those bells!
Some other random notes:
Brasso seems like a really nice guy. Just, kudos to him for being a really great friend. And him hitting the Imperial guy over the head with the brick was great.
LGBTQ+ in space!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!
I am obligated to point out the sheep. Real, live, sheep. Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t those sheep the first normal Earth animals to make it into Star Wars? No fancy prosthetics, just normal sheep (that breed of sheep naturally has 2+ pairs of horns). They’re Hebridean sheep, by the way. In case you were wondering.
Also Bix is pretty and I want her jacket
Small note: I'd love to add some screenshots/gifs to this post, but I'm a little confused about tumblr etiquette for that type of thing. I know GIF making is it's own thing, that takes some effort, so do people not generally post gifs from shows that they didn't make? What about random screenshots from google? Probably overthinking things, but if someone could explain that to me I'd appreciate it.
One other small note: A lot of this is taken from a post I made on my Instagram account. I would be incredibly surprised if anyone sees both posts, but I thought I should mention that. I'm not linking my Instagram because I keep it separate from my fandom life, and I'd like it to stay that way. The Andor post was an exception.

ok so here's my rating of the chill kill album!!! get ready for a long-winded post!!!
chill kill (9.5/10): was not what i was expecting, honestly. but that doesn't mean i don't love it!!! it's not to the level of automatic or FMR for me, but its definitely grown SO much on me since this morning, and I already liked it then. the beginning of the song gives me all-over chills. don't even get me started on the choreo. as far as i'm concerned this was a success.
knock knock (who's there?) [9/10]: "got a devil!!! on my shoulder!!" i feel like this song will grow on me more as i listen to it. don't get me wrong, it's an amazing song. it reminds me of in & out in a way. the sweeping chorus is stunning. will prob end up being a favorite of mine.
underwater (10/10): NOW THIS IS IT FAM!!!! this is the experimental!velvet i fell in love with. its new, it's different, it's stunning. i want more of THIS SOUND. the way the verses and the chorus ebbs and flows, tho... literally has me on a leash.
will i ever see you again? (10/10): another favorite. reminds me of long drives, the wind in your hair, as you try to free yourself from the shackles life has placed on you. it's ethereal, honestly.
nightmare (8.5/10): the sweeping synths, the bouncy chorus. i don't have a lot to say about this song. it's not big in my style, but it's still a great listen.
iced coffee (9/10): my perfect and sweet r&b!velvet!!! you've returned to me!!! i love the way they described this song in the live, "like drinking iced coffee in the winter." that's truly what it feels like and i am LIVING. also, wendy's vocals? goddess tier.
one kiss (10/10): another one i loved how yeri described, like their stuff from the red. it truly feels like a throwback to that album, but with a new and crisp sound mixed in. the chorus is SO GOOD. perfection, that's all they have to offer.
bulldozer (10/10): this is it. my favorite song on the album. it has my favorite english lyric in a LONG time, "i'm your poet, i'm your pain." that lyric awoke something feral inside of me. i don't even know. i'm running out of words to describe the perfection.
wings (10/10): an uplifting anthem. actually shed tears to this song. reminds of good, bad, ugly and you better know.
scenery (10/10): if i don't rate a rv ballad 10/10, is it even a rv ballad???? their vocals are beyond compare, and the way they mesh with each other in harmony is SO beautiful. all of their ballads are stunning, and this one is no different. a perfect end to the album.
ending notes: this album was absolutely EVERYTHING. i can say with confidence that i love every single song on here. i'm usually quite harsh with my album ratings, but red velvet gets me every. single. time!!! NO SKIPS. none. not at all. red velvet consistently provides quality music and vocals. we are so lucky to have them.
overall: 9.6/10!!!

On The Balcony

Word Count: 1,200+ words

----------------------------------------------------------------
Stars littered the dark night sky and a crescent moon shone above him. The cool winter breeze brushed against his hair, cooling off some of the sweat that clung to his skin. The night air was crisp, and he felt cold but not uncomfortable. All around him was silent, no one else in the area besides them.
Logan breathed out heavily, leaning on the railing for support while looking up at the stars. He closed his eyes for just a moment and took another deep breath, enjoying the feeling of fresh air after being cooped up indoors for too long.
He opened his eyes again when he heard footsteps coming towards him followed by a disembodied voice.
"Why are you awake this late, nerd?"
Logan retorts but doesn't look back at his newly arrived company. "I could say the same thing about you, Roman.". The footsteps came closer and Logan knew that Roman must've had a purpose for approaching him.
"What do you want?"Logan queries, turning so now they are facing each other. Roman's face is illuminated with a white glow from the light of the moon. "What? Am I not allowed to be on the balcony? I just wanted to look at the stars."Roman hums, standing beside Logan before looking up at the sky.
Then there was silence, both of them focused on the sky, watching the twinkling stars.
"The stars are beautiful, aren't they?"Roman asked out of a sudden, glancing at Logan. His eyes seemed to bore into Logan's soul, and it made Logan feel slightly uneasy but he couldn't bring himself to look away from Roman's penetrating gaze. "They're quite lovely."He replies softly, unable to keep himself from staring into those brown irises for longer than what would be considered polite.
Roman chuckled in response and then turned his head to look at the sky again. Logan did the same, following Roman's movements and noticing how close they were standing. Their shoulders nearly touched and Logan's breathing picked up pace for a reason he wasn't entirely sure of.
Roman spoke up softly, his expression rather melancholic.
"Things have changed a lot, haven't they?".
Logan blinked, surprised. "What do you mean?". He said hesitantly, his gaze returning to Roman's eyes. This time, Roman looked directly at Logan and smiled lightly but there was something else behind that smile.
"Well, you know... everything that's happening to Thomas. Nico arriving in his life and probably going to make him feel amazing. I can sense the sweet sweet romance blooming already."The creative facet chuckled and shook his head slightly as if trying to get rid of some sort of invisible fog that clouded over his mind.
When he finally looks back up at Logan, the soft smile hasn't disappeared from his lips and neither has the sparkle in his eye.Logan only mutters as he looks away from Roman's piercing stare. "Perhaps... but we cannot be too sure with that.". He doesn't notice the way Roman frowns at his answer or the way that his gaze turns distant. "You're such a party pooper.".
"I'm merely being realistic rather than believing in idealistic fantasies, Roman."Logan replies, still avoiding Roman's eyes. Roman only scoffed at his statement but didn't make some sort of remark (which confused Logan slightly).
"Why are you really here, Roman?"Logan questioned, breaking the silence which had settled between them again. There was an odd atmosphere surrounding them; Logan thought he could detect hints of something but he couldn't quite place his finger on it.
Roman didn't respond to his question as if he was avoiding it. He remained quiet as he continued gazing up at the starry sky. Logan sighed and rubbed his temple. "Why are you here?".
Roman scowled, finally facing Logan. "I told you, I'm here to look at the stars. Why do you care anyway?". He sounded defensive and annoyed and Logan felt like hitting something.
"You are my acquaintance and we basically live together, it's only reasonable that I am concerned with your well being".Roman huffs and rolls his eyes at Logan's reply.
He seems to be thinking and Logan is waiting for his answer. After several minutes passed, they remained quiet. The silence was starting to get awkward and it was making Logan slightly uneasy. Finally, Roman answers him."I couldn't sleep...". Roman pauses for a moment before looking down at his feet.
"There are days where I find myself unable to sleep. Certain thoughts run through my head that keep me up. Things I'd rather forget about....". He trails off for a moment before sighing.
"This is stupid. What about you? Why are you still up this late?"Roman asks, changing the subject.
"I suppose, I am going through the same thing as you.".
Roman nods in understanding and they fall into an almost comfortable silence. They stand side by side for a few moments until Roman speaks again.
"Maybe the two of us are not too different after all."
"Hm? And why might that be?"Logan inquired, curiosity getting the better of him. Roman smirked mischievously, and shrugged. "I don't know.".
"You are an idiot."Logan says, a giggle escaping his lips. It surprises even him, but Roman chuckles along nonetheless. And they stay like that for a little bit longer. Enjoying each other's company without any need for words, without pressure or anything else that would disrupt their serene peace. It was quiet and tranquil and perfect.
Roman spoke up suddenly once again, glancing at Logan. "We should dance. Do you know waltz?". Logan sighs, internally face palming. "Okay now, I regret hanging out with you.".
Roman grins mischievously and grabs him by his wrist and pulls him close. "Well you're stuck with me for the moment, you may like it or not."He remarks, spinning Logan around. Logan huffs but let the other do so anyway.
The rest of the night went on like this with Roman leading Logan around the dance floor/balcony, holding onto his wrists and swaying with him gracefully. Logan unknowingly smiles fondly at Roman, who was smiling right back, his brown eyes shining brightly as he laughed and moved with Logan, dancing despite the lack of music. The moonlight illuminated them as they danced and laughed on the balcony, comfortable with each other's presence.
They eventually slowed down their dance, their bodies still attached closely to each other and their faces mere inches apart. They stayed like that for a moment, staring at each other, eyes sparkling. Neither daring to speak up yet unwilling to break contact completely. Both of them slowly leaned closer slightly but after realizing what they were doing, they jerked away from each other, their cheeks tinted with pink.
"That was.. lovely, thank you, Roman."Logan murmurs, a genuine smile on his lips. Roman returns his smile shyly, a blush spreading across his cheeks. "Thank you as well, Logan.".
They stare at each other a moment more before deciding that they should get going, after all, it was 1 o'clock already.
They parted ways and bid goodnight to each other before heading to their rooms to return to their beds for the night.
Both of them finally can sleep peacefully with smiles on their faces, and perhaps dreaming of each other.

hello tumblr user usersasaki 🫵 you will never know who i am! (or who knows lol hi karma <3) this anon has been looking into getting into orv but keeps procrastinating like they do on many other things and so asks you, one of their resident orv likers they know, to uh. idk. but feel free to ramble on about why you like orv so much & why someone should get into it (like me!) so maybe i can finally be convinced to read it Now instead of putting it off for later again and again !! ... or something like that 🥺✨
OK GUYS THIS IS NOT A DRILL. THIS IS NOT A DRILLLLL AAAAA HELLO U BEAUTIFUL PERSON I THINK IK WHO U ARE BUT RN I'M SO READY TO CRUSH U IN A BIG HUG REGARDLESS OF THAT
ahem. yes. anyways. i'm totally normal abt this, i totally didn't go feral for a few moments before i started typing this. OK BUT I'M SO READY TO TRY TO CONVINCE U TO READ THIS CUZ WHEN I SAY THIS WEBTOON + WEBNOVEL HAS CHANGED ME ENTIRELY. pls bear with me, giving me a chance to word vomit was not a good idea /hj. i'll put everything under the cut :] and i'll try to keep everything as spoilerless as possible so that u can safely enjoy the story when u get to it
i will apologise in advance for the person i've become, this might end up becoming a HUGE post (edit: i think it did, this is apparently at a lil more than 2k words rn cuz i typed this in google docs for fear of tumblr nuking my entire draft and me having to start all over again)
tldr for those who don't want to go through a 2k essay; orv is for you if you enjoy clean art, stories that will break down your initial expectations and surpass them, and things like found family, love (all kinds), and just an emotional rollercoaster in general. prepare snacks and tissues.
i'll start with the webtoon because that's where it started for me! honestly one of the things i look for most when i start a webtoon is the art. and there are times when even if i like the story, if the art ain't it for me, i'll drop the story 😭💀 but orv has such beautiful and crisp art, very edible art HAHAHA (both webtoon and novel by the way but i'll get to the novel in a bit) it makes me go so O.O sometimes. here's an example of the art, you might've seen it somewhere but i'm still adding it here for the pure beauty of these men named kim dokja and yoo joonghyuk AND ALSO han sooyoung and jung heewon (yes i'm gay, no it's not obvious /j). every character in this webtoon is so well drawn and just. chef's kiss okay, so if you like pretty art, you've got that right here folks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
moving on, the story seems, at first, like a very generic action fantasy webtoon where the world of a novel becomes reality and our mc aka kim dokja is the one who knows how to get to the end and he gets to meet his favourite novel’s protagonist yoo joonghyuk and decides to save the world. but as the story progresses on and on, it becomes so much more than that. the storytelling skills have to be applauded because webtoons can't use lots of words and have to convey things more concisely than their novel counterparts but they've done an amazing job of using the right dialogues in the right places with the right amount of impact. AND as of right now, the story is starting to head towards what i'd like to say is the actual beginning of this webtoon >:) that’s all i can say without spoiling some major things from the novel so,, yeah!
another beautiful part is the portrayal of each of the characters, especially kdj, and their different dynamics with kdj. now kim dokja is our mc and the main narrator of this entire thing so we’re quite limited in that sense because all we see and know is what kim dokja tells us through his narration. a lot of posts have accurately pinned him down as an unreliable narrator because he really only ever shows his companions (and us readers) one part of things and we’re all left to speculate about things. each companion holds a different opinion of kdj but all of them are united in the fact that they trust him to help them get through everything. while the webtoon hasn’t had a chance to explore that yet, i’m looking forward to how they will show it to us :] i’d say that this webtoon is worth a read also because kim dokja is the most mind boggling, intriguing and frustrating character you will ever meet. that’s a fact that’ll get clearer as you get closer to the recent chapters of the webtoon, but i love how he’s relatable in the sense that he both makes me screech in awe but also makes me want to wring his neck with how he is sometimes. i love him *holds him by the neck* (affectionately). oh and when i say every character is just a beautiful piece of art, i mean both their literal art and also the way they’ve been written, though it is more clear in the novel as of right now.
NOW i’m gonna move onto the webnovel because i honestly fell deeper into the rabbit hole purely because of the novel. and sing shong (the author of the webnovel) is an absolute genius for the way they have both intricately and simply pushed a single message throughout the length of the novel. i constantly joke about how reading the orv novel has changed my brain chemistry but i’m not joking most of the time because it really did. in many ways, i’m sure this is a novel i will remember for a very long time to come.
the same points i spoke about for the webtoon stand for the novel as well BUT of course the novel is just immaculately written and it deserves a chance of its own. it’s not that the writing of the novel is extraordinarily fancy or anything, it’s actually quite simple reading without too many complicated words but i think that has a beauty of its own. it’s able to convey what it needs to without having 10 pages of description and that’s awesome to me. there are issues with some things written in the novel but as it isn’t a focus or the point of orv (i got this point from this tumblr post, feel free to read through it if you want to because they have written some great points that can’t be said better by me!), it’s still a novel that entertains you to the fullest.
the characters are admittedly more fleshed out in the novel than the webtoon but that’s because the webtoon is still catching up while the novel is complete (it ended with epilogue chapters but recently the author came out with side stories). the relationships are just very detailed and it gives you a look into not only kim dokja’s head, but also yoo joonghyuk and other characters’ heads as well, though they’re not as common because the majority of the story is in kdj’s point of view. i’ve neglected mentioning other character names so far but kim dokja has a set of the most loyal and sweet and sometimes feral companions besides yoo joonghyuk like yoo sangah, who is someone kdj knew before the novel became their world, jung heewon and lee hyunsung, kdj’s trusty sword and shield, lee gilyoung and shin yoosung, his children (not biological but yes). there’s also lee jihye, an avid yoo joonghyuk follower who insults kdj at every turn but cares for him, and han sooyoung, who is portrayed as a bit of an antagonist or an anti-hero (as far as the webtoon goes anyway wink wink). and a lot of other characters you’ll grow to either love a lot or hate with a passion oR even have your opinion take a whole 180 about as you read on and on, that’s just the kinda novel this is.
don’t even get me started on the underlying themes of this novel. this is me being an english major (and psychology major unintentionally, double major woohoo) through and through but i love analysing characters and figuring out themes that come out through the writing. i won’t go too into the details so that i won’t spoil it for anyone who happens upon this post. but there’s the overarching theme of love; not just romantic love but also platonic love, familial love and the most important one of this novel, self-love. another theme i think is quite relevant and important to this story is more easily relatable to people who read often because it goes into how books can change you BUT you can also change books by reading them over and over again and understanding it better. also how stories can save you but you, as a reader, have the power to save stories by reading them. because in the end, a story continues because you read it. OH I CAN’T FORGET THIS, found family <3 if you’re a fan of found family, this is for you, it’s present throughout the story as a small but encompassing theme.
now this could be just me but i get extremely emotional when it comes to my favourite media, so i squeal with joy at happy parts, sob uncontrollably when sad scenes come up, punch my pillows when something makes me mad⏤ you get my point. and this novel gave me an entire rollercoaster of emotions and made me so URGH in good, bad and ugly ways. it kinda brings me back to my point about kdj being an unreliable narrator since the reason why it gets so hard and sad is because this man never tells anyone anything. he takes it upon himself to do everything, much to the annoyance and despair of his companions and us the readers. we know nothing other than what kdj is willing to tell us, not about his plans, not about him, not about his own feelings. and we’re left to guess and guess until everything is laid bare and then we’re still trying to. process everything. yeah i don’t know if this part is making any sense but i can’t really go into detail without majorly spoiling the story. so you’re gonna have to come back to my post once you’re done to be like “ohhh, right this is what they meant.” /j
To move to a lighter and probably my last point, the novel illustrations are gold i tell you. it’s done by a person named blackbox or bb-nim for short and i love just going through their art for fun. of course, if you’re reading it on a website like i did, then you’re not going to see the illustrations side by side so you should definitely check out blackbox’s twitter which i’ve linked here :] you’ll probably also find their art on pinterest. gorgeous art i tell you, BUT BUT BUT there are spoilers here and there so beware if you go digging through their media tab on their twt. I’ll put some of my favourite pieces that are as non-spoiler as possible under this
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so. yeah. these are my reasons for why you should read both the orv webtoon and novel. In the end, all i can say is that if you give them a chance, you’ll probably get hooked just as i did. i knew to a certain extent about how the novel was but nothing prepared me enough but i’m not complaining because it is genuinely so good. i’ll add a list of content warnings here that i got from the wiki page because i don’t want anyone to be ambushed by anything they’re not comfortable with reading: graphic violence, death and murder, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, suicide, body horror, dissociation, transphobia (this might be a deal breaker and it would be for me too as a nonbinary person but it’s not a major focus and happens a couple times throughout the story), cephalopods, tentacles (yes these are real content warnings on the wiki HAHAHA), and finally hospitals.
to all of you who actually read this far, thank you! you are a great person for reading through a random person on the internet go on and on about a webtoon and novel, hope you have an awesome day/night ahead of you! if you have any questions about things in the webtoon or novel, feel free to hit me up, i’m always down to have conversations about orv (none of my irls have read it but i will use this essay to convince one of them to give it a chance so wish me luck). anyway, peace out folks! :]

Thanksgiving yesterday was great. I'm so glad I took the advice from the 1930's research I did leading up to it, and started prepping everything 3 days early. Because it really did make everything go so much more smoothly outside of all of my Mother in Law's ridiculous meddling in things. She finally calmed down the day before, however, and it made everything easier (even if it did pick back up the day of, and we all had to remove her from the kitchen because she wouldn't keep her hands out of my pots).
Because I had to make so many concessions to my menu with her meddling, I made up for it by actually looking up a 1930's place setting (technically 1925, but close enough). And I had just enough China to do it, too- though I did find out in the process that I'm missing a few plates for my 8 serve Magnolia set and I don't actually have the complete place settings like I thought I did. But I set he table with it, and even folded some napkins into actual shapes.
For the record, when they suggest Linen "or another crisp fabric", they're genuinely not saying it for their health 🤣 The napkins my Mother in Law picked were beautiful, but they were thick cotton and even on the highest setting it took me about 20+ minutes to press all 8 of them enough they'd finally at least vaguely hold the shape properly 😭 And I wasn't even doing anything complicated. Just use "crisp fabric" napkins. Trust me.
It took some convincing to get people to try a couple of the things- like the Carrot Marmalade that I got from @therecipelibrary's postings (which was amazing, even if it took a few tries to par the recipe down properly to a single serving and I had to cheat with a bit of Orange Gelatin to get it to work then). But once they did, everyone was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. My Husband, who hates Spinach, even really enjoyed the Creamed Spinach and Pearl Onions (I did, too; aside from being a little short on seasoning, it's actually really good and I'll have to keep making that).
Apparently I did really well on the Ham, too, despite it bein my first time to ever cook a ham. And the 1930's Onion, Clove, Cider, and Brown Sugar glaze that I did for it went over well with my Husband; I didn't dry it out, either, like I was concerned I would because it was pre-smoked (none of the small ones we could find came raw, but that worked out because I really didn't have time for the nonsense of cooking the whole thing, frankly).
There was so much food overall, though, that none of us actually wound up getting dessert. But for my part, I did fairly well doing exactly what I wanted to and making just enough for everyone. So we didn't wind up having very much in the way of leftovers for what I made.
And I didn't wind up vomiting last night. So score one for the first time I've made it through a holiday feast since being diagnosed with CAG, without a flair! 🥂🎉 I'm so damned happy about that! But oh wow I am so absolutely tired today ... Not flared, thankfully (though definitely Fibro sensitive). But definitely very freaking worn out to the point I can barely stay awake.
I did realize, however, when setting up my Modrana Altar today, however ... That I may have accidentally left my Beeswax tapers over at my old Covenmate's whenever I was there for Halloween (and if not, then I genuinely have no idea where they could be, because they're not in any of my supply boxes ... And today's Black Friday (Capitalist nightmare extraordinaire 🤮), so it's going to be difficult to convince my Husband to take me to Walmart after work in order to pick up some cheap ones so I can still do the ritual offerings 😬 I'm incredibly annoyed by that, because now that means I've missed every single event and holiday this month.
Oh well. You win (or celebrate) some ... And you don't. That's just life.

Part 28- Beauty and the Freak
Graduation day
Eddie
The day was fucking here. High school graduation. I can't believe it's actually fucking happening. This day should have happened years ago but didn't because I couldn't get my dumb ass to focus. That didn't matter now,
I stood in the living room in my crisp white button down shirt and a pair of dress pants, I wasn't going to dress up , I'm going to be wearing a gown over it for Christ sakes, but Wayne insisted on it, he even ironed everything so that I would look 'presentable'. He was proud and excited that the day had finally come.
" Now your not going to do anything to embarrass me are you?" He asked as I nervously paced the floor.
" I've said for years I was going to flip the principal off when I got my diploma, but you have already put up with enough of my shit over the years that I wouldn't do that to you."
" Be respectful Eddie."
" I will, I promise."
Wayne came up to me and gave me an awkward hug, the man had a heart of gold but wasn't super affectionate. "I'm proud of you son."
I smiled at him." Sorry it took this long."
" You just had to want it."
" Just needed a little inspiration."
" That inspiration just happened to have big brown eyes and curly black hair?"
" Something like that." I chuckled than grabbed my cap and gown." It's finally fucking time."
Wayne shook his head." Any other time I would scold you for your language but today, fuck it." He smiled." Come on kid, time to get that goddamn diploma."
Veronica
" I am so nervous, why am I so nervous?"
" Veronica, I have heard your speech a million times and it is wonderful. You practically have it memorized." My mom gave me a hug, rubbing my back." Your going to be amazing!"
" Your just saying that because your my mother."
"Honey you need to relax, try to enjoy this day!" She gestured over to the couch where Jason was sitting, looking absolutely bored out of his mind." See Jason is enjoying himself."
" I'm ready to get a move on it and just get it over with, enough with the formalities , let's just get to the parties. "
For once I agreed with him."At least you are at the beginning of the alphabet, I have to wait till the middle. "
" You and the Freak in the middle of the pack."
" Why do you have to be like that?"
" Like what? That's what he is! I'm surprised he's even graduating, it's been what ten years-"
" Jason, that's enough." My mom put her hands on her hips." This is supposed to be a special day, I don't want to hear anymore fighting."
I wanted to walk up to him and slap him across the face, but I wouldn't, it would upset my Mom.
Just then the doorbell rang. I looked at my mom and she smiled.
" Go see who it is!"
I ran to the door and opened it up. "Grammy!! Oh my god you're here!!"
There stood my sweet Grammy Montgomery, one of my most favorite people in the world. She threw her arms around me and squeezed." Did you think I would miss my sweet girl's graduation?" She kissed my cheeks and squeezed me again. " I miss you so much!"
I felt tears in my eyes. My Grammy was my comfort person, she was sweet and funny and the reason that my father was such an amazing human being. She was also the reason for my curves and my bouncy curls." When did you get into town?"
" Last night, but I wanted to surprise you!" She took a step back, and smiled " You look so good baby girl, absolutely beautiful. You get that from me." She winked. She turned to my mom and wrapped her up in her arms."My other sweet girl. How are you doing Lucy?"
"I'm good Millie, overwhelmed but good. I wish Louie was here to see this, he would be so proud." My mom started to cry.
" Oh honey, he is here in spirit and he is so proud." Grammy wiped the tears away with her thumb. " No crying, not till after graduation!"
" I still can't believe you are here!"I sighed
" When do I get to meet this cute boyfriend I have been hearing about?"
" Eddie? I am sure you will meet him after the ceremony. You are going to love him. "
" I'm sure I will." She turned back to my mom," When are Margie and Dale going to be here?"
" My parents should be here any minute."
Grammy leaned forward and whispered." Let's go up to your room, I want to see you in your cap and gown before your other grandparents do."
*************************************
" Alright, Honey we will see you after graduation. You are going to do great and I am so proud of you!"
" Love ya Mom!"
My mom dropped me off in front of the school so that I could take my place with my classmates on the football field, Jason of course opted to drive himself not wanting anything to do with my family.
I walked as fast as my feet would let me in my black patent leather pumps and scanned the crowd for my friends. Everyone was getting ready to line up in alphabetical order but I had to say hey beforehand.
" There you are Sweetheart, I have been looking all over for you!" I felt an arm slip around my waist and in an instant I was spun around. There he was, my love, in his cap and gown, big toothy smile spread across his handsome face.It was his graduation day. My heart leapt, I felt tears pooling in the corners of my eyes." Aww Princess don't cry." He leaned down and kissed my lips.
We heard a throat clearing behind us and laughed as we pulled apart to see Ms. O' Donnell smiling at us.
" Well Mr. Munson, the day has finally come, let me be one of the first to congratulate you on your impending graduation. I know that we have had a tumultuous relationship, but I want to let you know that I am extremely proud of you. I can guarantee that I will never ever have another student like you in my class ever again."
" You hope you never have another student like me in your class again."
" You always kept me on my toes." She sighed." Now for one last time I must ask-"
" That we refrain from any physical contact on school grounds." We both said in unison.
She laughed."Thank you. Congratulations Mr.Munson, and Miss Montgomery, I see many wonderful things in your future."
" Thank you Ms. O'Donnell." We watched her walk away. I looked back at Eddie and smiled." That cap and gown  looks really good on you."
" I would say the same but I prefer what you have on under the cap and gown." He smirked.
" Wouldn't you just like to find out?"
" Don't worry, I will." He winked and it made my stomach do flip flops.
" I'm wearing a sun dress under here, sweetheart neckline, spaghetti straps, falls just above the knee." I leaned in. ".My boobs look amazing."
" I bet they fucking do." He licked his lips. " I am going to to be all over you at Harringtons party tonight."
" I don't know if I can go."
" What?! Of course you are going."
" My Gram Montgomery surprised me , she is here from California. I would feel bad going to a party instead hanging out with her." I watch his face fall. " I'm sorry baby, I didn't know she was coming."
" I totally understand Sweetheart, I think it is great that she surprised you, I know how much she means to you."
I brought my hands up to his face." I want you to meet her, and my Nana and Pops. You and Wayne should come to our barbecue. Lucy would love it. Please come meet my family. The party isn't until late and you can bail whenever you want. "
He smirked. " You want me to meet your family? Like ,you wouldn't be embarrassed?"
I looked at him quizzically." What are you even talking about?"
" Like, what if I'm not your GrandPops cup of tea? I mean look at me."
I laughed."You are so cute and charming, they are going to see your big puppy dog eyes and fall right in love."
" Are you sure about that?"
" I'm positive." I kissed the tip of his nose and took his hand." I think it's time to get this show on the road. "
" It's about fucking time." A big smile spread across his face.
Eddie
" I would now like to introduce Hawkins High School's Class of 1986's Valedictorian, Veronica Montgomery." Principal Higgins announced. The crowd clapped.
I sat in my seat, leg nervously bouncing biting my nails as my Princess calmly got up from her seat, three chairs down from me, gave me a wink and proceeded to the stage. She appeared to be cool as a cucumber, although I knew on the inside she was nervous. I always admired the way she pulled off such a calm demeanor despite what she was feeling inside. She straight up handled the 'Hopper'  incident under pressure with confidence and charm. I could never do that.
I watched her cross the stage and stand behind the podium, look out at the audience and smile. She looked beautiful.
"Thank you Principal Higgins, and thank you friends, family, faculty and fellow graduates for being here today. It is a great honor to celebrate this milestone with you as your Valedictorian.
Today means many different things to each of us, some of us look at it as a relief, phew, that's finally over. While some of us use this opportunity to reflect, feel nostalgic and think back to the good times we've had, and the wonderful memories and friendships we have made. As Seniors we realize that this day marks an end to a chapter of our lives, but it also marks a brand new beginning. This is true with everything in life. One day ends and a brand new day full of wonder  and possibility begins. What we have learned in High School, as important and beneficial as it is, is only the beginning ,the rest comes from living and learning through life experiences. That is why it is important to live life to its fullest, learn from every experience ,look for inspiration in it  and take it with you. Don't be afraid to take chances or make mistakes ,life is too short. Just think of every endeavor as an opportunity to learn.
As I look out onto this football field at my fellow classmates and peers I see potential and promise. I see future Journalist ,Doctors , Teachers, Rockstars ,the list goes on and on. Your life is what you make of it, and you only get one, so make the most of it. Thank you and congratulations to Hawkins High Class of 1986!"
I stood up and cheered, saw Nancy and Robin do the same and the audience followed suit. I was so fucking proud of her. I watched her walk back to her seat, smiling at me all the way. I leaned forward and whispered," So proud of you Sweetheart."
" Ditto." She blew me a kiss.
The next portion of the ceremony went by in a blur, I wasn't really paying attention as the faculty chatted away on stage, I didn't snap out of my daze until I heard them announcing the names in alphabetical order, we cheered as Robin walked across the stage to accept her diploma then waited anxiously until it was our turn to line up. Ronnie reached back, excusing herself amongst the three people standing between us and squeezed my hand." You've got this Munson."
I smiled and squeezed back." It's your turn."
" Veronica Montgomery." I watched her walk across the stage again, pause as the Principal handed her her diploma then walk down the steps.
I sighed as the Principal announced. "Edward Munson." I heard my friends scream for me and I felt a wave of emotions sweep over me. I walked across the stage to Principal Higgins, "It's about time Munson." He smirked and I bowed dramatically at the crowd before exiting the stage. Veronica was standing there waiting for me ,tears streaming down her face., I picked her up and swung her around and she held on to her cap." You did it baby!"
" We did it." I put her back down on the ground and we held hands and walked back to our seats. We cheered for Nancy and before we knew it we heard." Congratulations to the class of 1986!" Caps went flying , not mine, I was fucking framing it. Veronica came over and wrapped her arms around me, I tilted her chin up and placed a chaste kiss to her lips, and I rocked her back and forth as I held her. This moment was surreal.
" We did it!" Robin and Nancy came running over to us throwing there arms around us in a group hug.
" It doesn't seem real yet!" Nancy said pulling away, a smile on her face.
" Hey Munson." A familiar voice said from behind me."Congratulations are finally in order." I turned to see Chief Jim Hopper standing there with a smirk on his face. He came over and pat me on the back." Nice to see that you didn't make a scene."
I laughed." I couldn't Sir, I've got to make a good impression, " I pulled Veronica in tight." There is family here I have to impress."
Hops chuckled." Ah, Miss Montgomery, it's a pleasure to see you again. Public speaking skills  are still on point."
She laughed." Thank you Chief."
" Congratulations on the scholarship, he wasn't kidding when he said you were a smart cookie. And yet you are still with this bonehead."
" He's not a bonehead all the time Sir."
" Law abiding citizens around here call me Hops."
" Well it's  nice seeing you again, Hops." She smiled.
" Now I know that there are going to be parties and drinking going on tonight, please be the responsible adults you all are and don't drink and drive. Hell, you guys get tipsy and need a ride home, call me, I will get you home safely no questions asked. Just be safe ok?"
" We promise." We said collectively.
" Alright, I won't take up anymore of your time. Congratulations guys."
" Thanks Hops!"
" There they are!" Lucy came running up to us, Wayne close behind , tears in her eyes. She wrapped us in one of her tightest hugs." You kids have made me so proud!" She turned to Robin and Nancy and hugged them as well." I can't believe it, my baby has graduated!" She wiped at her eyes and sniffed. " I need to commemorate this moment with a photo!"
Oh course she did, Lucy was the queen of capturing moments in photographs. The picture that she took of Veronica and I before Prom is a photo I will always cherish.
Wayne came up to me, smile on his weathered face." Congratulations Eddie." He pat me on the back." Let me see it,"
I smiled and handed over the diploma. "There it is."
" Edward Eugene Munson. Wow, for a little while I thought I would never see one of these. Proud of you son."
Ronnie wrinkled up her nose. " Eugene? Eugene is your middle name?"
" Yeah, yeah , yeah." I felt my face get hot. " I think I liked it better when you didn't know my real one and just threw random middle names out there. Like Edward Charles Munson, or Edward James Munson, Edward Herbert Munson..." I laughed.
" The mystery is gone." She laughed as well." Mom, where are the Grandparents?"
" Bill is bringing them home, Nana had to get out of the sun." Lucy rolled her eyes. " Wayne, you guys are coming to the barbecue later right?"
" We wouldn't want to intrude-"
" Oh don't be silly!! It starts at 2." Lucy grabbed her camera." Ok guys, everyone scoot together and say 1986!"
Veronica
Tears had been shed, pictures were taken and cap and gown were now neatly folded and on my dresser. The stress of the day behind me, I was now able to just sit back and relax. I sat next to my Grammy on porch, soaking in the sun,  glasses of lemonade in hands as my Mom ran around preparing for the barbecue, insisting that we stay put and catch up.
" Your speech was wonderful, your Father would have been so proud." She squeezed my knee.
" I know, I was thinking of him as I was sitting there waiting to go up. I know he was there with me." I sniffed back tears that I could feel forming in the corners of my eyes.
"Of course he was. " She sighed." Bill is a wonderful man. I am thankful that he is in your lives." She lowered her voice," But to be perfectly honest his son is a little Asshole."
I practically spit out my lemonade in laughter." I one hundred percent agree!!"
Grammy smiled." That boy of yours though, he is quite handsome."
It was my turn to sigh." Yeah he is isn't he? Those eyes Gram, I am a sucker for his big brown eyes."
" He is a musician too right? Just like your Dad?"
" He is an amazing guitarist. "
" He makes you happy, I can see it all over your face."
" I have never been so happy." I couldn't help but smile.
" Your parents were High School Sweethearts-"
" Grammy, I am so in love with him." I missed this, confiding in my Grandmother, she was never judgmental and I knew that my secrets were always safe with her.
" He loves you too?"
" He does."
" His kisses give you butterflies?"
I blushed." You have no idea."
" Then hold onto him and never let go" She smiled.
I heard the familiar sound of van doors closing. " He's here!!" I couldn't contain my excitement. The second he stepped out the door I was there.
" Hey Sweetheart." A big grin plastered to his face. He handed over a bouquet of sunflowers, and it made my heart melt. " They made me think of you."
I set the flowers down in my chair and  took his face in my hands." You are the sweetest Edward Eugene Munson."  And I leaned in and gave him a kiss. When I pulled away I stepped aside . "Eddie, I want you to meet my Gram, Mildred Montgomery."
" Mrs. Montgomery, it is an honor to meet you." He smiled and took her hand." I have heard so much about you."
She stood and kissed his cheek." I am so glad to meet you." She took a minute to look him over, from his hair all the way down to his Nikes." You have the kindest eyes I have ever seen."
" Thank you," he covered her hand with his ." Veronica is a spitting image of you, the hair , the eyes, she clearly gets her good looks from you."
My grandmother laughed." You sweet talker you, boys like you are trouble with a capital T."
" I assure you I have nothing but good intentions for your Granddaughter."
" I can see it in your eyes." She smiled. "Your smitten, it's the Montgomery charm. She gets that from me too."
" Obviously." He smiled.
" You get the Grammy seal of approval. Oh, and by the way, I like your ink."
Eddie raised his eyebrows." Well thank you Mrs-"
"Call me Grammy, sweet cheeks."
" If I wasn't madly in love with your Granddaughter-"
" Oh honey you wouldn't know what to do with me."
Eddie laughed."So that's where she gets her spunk from too- you're a firecracker."
" You better believe it."
I sat back and didn't say a word,  I just enjoyed listening to the banter between the two. My heart was full.

Hi, mun Donut! Hope you're having a good day! I was wondering if you have any fic recs for us right now?
Wow, this was sent a long while back haha. Might as well answer it now since I am feeling relatively of sound mind :)
Unfortunately don’t really have the energy to read much fanfic nowadays but there have been a couple that I’ve enjoyed. This gets a little long so I’ll put it down under the cut
First off I’d like to plug a fic that my friend @kotekie has been writing for like, 2 years called “Forever in the Manor”. It’s on ao3 and their writing is absolutely SPECTACULAR. It’s for IDV though and not many people know about it so. Idk read it if you like good writing. Their writing is incredibly descriptive and beautiful and I adore it so much.
And next is just submas fanfictions because I’ve really only been reading those so far. These are in order of how easy it was for me to find on my saved browser lists
First off is “Tracks A-B -- Mutli-Track drifting through time“ is definitely one of my favourites. Maybe in my top 3. It’s incredibly hilarious, emotional, and wonderful and I adore someone FINALLY writing all of the depot agents in the Battle Subway. Each one of them has such a unique and interesting personality.
Ingo and Emmet are also there, and while they are separated they are extremely well written. Neurodivergency is naturally well represented here too, seeing as the author is neurodivergent themselves. Give it a go if you want to, if you’re going to read any fic on my recs list it has to be this one :).
“heart hungry like a fire” is my next recommendation! I don’t think I’ve seen anyone write Emmet as wonderfully as atticus has. His dialogue is like- awesome. It mirrors canon Emmet almost perfectly and seamlessly blends his addition to the PLA story we all know and love.
I’ll also put “Ever Since I Could Remember” and its sequel(?) “Have Mercy On Me“ here because I have a lot to say about them. (For the record, I think they are great and worth a read but I have a lot of personal feelings about em)
For the first fic, right off the bat you can tell it uses a counting stim as a clever literary device to show progression of time, tension, and a sort of resolution. Horrible things happen to Ingo. Emmet is stressed out of his mind. Everything is worded beautifully, though, and it just makes you want to read more! I love the way trauma and neurodivergency is represented here. It’s so natural and casual, and the author somehow weaves it in seamlessly with the writing style so it’s just. MORE amazing hsdjfhbg. They are also both trans and it’s great :). Drayden is their dad in this fic, and Iris is basically their sister. (Drayden does deadname Ingo here, though. And Emmet doesn’t seem to like him very much. As a Drayden-liker this was hard for me to read :<) There’s more but honestly I think I’m done skimming through the first fic. Can’t let this become a summary!
The second fic confused me quite a bit, to say the least. Ingo’s relationship with Irida really stood out to me the most (because I didn’t really understand what was happening lmao) but there was definitely a lot going on with everyone else as well. It mostly focuses on Ingo’s path to recovery,  but there was this one part that touches upon his asexuality and I AM LIVING FOR IT (it does involve him almost being in an uncomfortable situation surrounding sex though. which is. not good, but I loved how it portrayed that nonetheless hehe ;w;)
Oof, that was long umm what do we have next??
OH! “Detours” is definitely up there as one of my favourite fics :). The writing style is what I describe as fresh and crisp (whatever that means) and I think each character is written extremely well and realistically. The story is aWESOME (basically Ingo and Dawn are reverse isekaied into Sinnoh while rei is actually isekaied into SInnoh) and there are twists and turns and things are happening and it’s all incredibly engaging. I still read it regularly haha.
And umm finally we have “Lost Tracks of Time” (which also is hosted on @/teamconductors hehe). I enjoy the story (it’s based off a PMD au for the submas where Ingo is a hisuian sneasel and emmet is a johtoian sneasel) and their writing for the characters (as well as the nobles) is really quite fun! I enjoy sneasler being the accidental older sister figure to the two haha, it’s so funny :)). They also write battles like, REALLY, REALLY good. I don’t think I’ve read a battle and thought “woah, I understood it. and ENJOYED it” before until I read Lost tracks of time haha.
so um yeah that’s it I hope you enjoyed the ramble

Ok, warning. Spoilers for Tales of the Jedi!!!
Tales of the Jedi trailer was released yesterday and I have some thoughts. First off, I’d like to say that I’M FUCKING IN LOVE. I’ve seen it at least 20 times by now just on loop, trying to catch everything that was shown. I’M BEYOND HYPED. It looks AMAZING!! The animation is crisp and beautiful and while the character models look different, they still appear to be aligned with their right ages (like Ahsoka still looks like a teenager in training, Anakin still looks like a young man in his early 20s, and mullet Obi with Clone War armor is a nice looking 30-something year old). Even Mace looks a bit younger (though imo he could’ve looked even younger).
I was sad to learn that Dave Filoni decided to rewrite Ahsoka’s stories to include her mother. Lemme explain. Star Wars doesn’t really show mothers (or if they do they die—Shmi/Padme/Beru) and the first mother character really seemed to be Hera in Rebels (she doesn’t have a kid until S4 but she still seemed like the mom of the group throughout). So Filoni decided on including Ahsoka’s mother, rewriting Ahsoka’s part to fit her in. While I understand adding more ‘mother-representation’ in SW is important, I really would’ve preferred to see Master Plo Koon. He wasn’t shown at all in any of the village scenes and while it’s totally possible he will still show up (and Filoni’s keeping it a secret), it seems like the new village characters (Ahsoka’s family) will take the spotlight.
That brings me to my next point. Disney has already announced Ahsoka (the live action show) so I was really surprised that Tales of the Jedi would focus a lot on her. She’s a fan-favorite and people love her (myself included) but I, personally think that her live action show would be enough (her show and maybe a Bad Batch cameo would be enough I think). We already know how much she trained, how she got to where she is. I’m more interested in where she’s going tbh. Don’t get me wrong, I loved seeing phase 1 Rex and 501st train Ahsoka to use the move she used to escape during O66, especially since Anakin seemed to push her so hard (the irony). And seeing her cloaked in disguise at Padme’s funeral 😭 I lost it. Despite seeing a few badass moments with Ahsoka, I think I would’ve preferred a character we didn’t see much of/a new character, especially if it’s not a jedi (I love Jedi but SW is so much more, especially since Tales of the Jedi isn’t directly tied to the Clone Wars—same animation but stories are spread out through the timeline). As someone who’s never read any of the comics/novels, I’d love to see a new, non-related character’s story animated in the Clone Wars style.
I am glad that the shots we do see of Ahsoka training, she’s not in her OG outfit (aka no tube top). It’s similar, but it is different (her new top is more like a sleeveless tunic—kinda like what Korra wears in Legend of Korra). People have obviously pointed out how Ahsoka’s outfit design makes no sense and I agree, especially since it’s been established Jedi/Padawans wear robes. Would’ve preferred Ahsoka in robes, but I’m glad we got a different top nonetheless.
I think it’s only 6 episodes (though I’m not certain) and 3 are supposedly focused on Ahsoka (I believe 1–Ahsoka being discovered as a Jedi 2–Anakin training Ahsoka 3–Ahsoka post O66 going home to defend her village from the Inquisitor). The other 3 I believe are focused on Dooku and Quigon (1–the duo save a Senator and his family 2–They investigate the death of a Jedi 3–Master Yaddle discovers Dooku’s turn to the Dark Side). That’s just my opinion based on the trailer.
So. Overall, I’m definitely extremely excited for this show. I know Bad Batch s2 got delayed to Jan 4th 2023 and honestly…I don’t mind? I’ve been WAY more excited/hyped for TotJ (Tales of the Jedi) than Bad Batch anyways. I really hope it gets more than 1 season🤞 Because I think there are only 6 episodes, I really hope they’re longer than the usual 25min/half hour TCW episodes were (preferably 1hr, but even 40mins like Arcane would be great). Because they did include Ahsoka, I’d love to see how she purifies her kyber crystals before she’s shown in Rebels (I know it’s in a new novel about her but would be cool to see animated). Honestly I’m not unhappy that Dave Filoni decided to focus a lot on her, but I think because we know a lot about her already, I want to see specific scenes that I’m not sure will happen. I love Ahsoka and while I, personally. would prefer a new/lesser known character be featured, I like how her episodes kind of tell her life story at the important points (being discovered, training and life after O66) so people could watch these 3 episodes with her instead of having to watch all of TCW to know who she is (if, for some reason they don’t know who she is before going to Ahsoka the show). I didn’t really talk about the Dooku/Quigon episodes, but that’s because those are the ones I’m most excited for.
As I said earlier, I’m not all that excited for Bad Batch s2 for various reasons (THE WHITEWASHING, lack of character development, the typical ‘Saturday morning cartoon’ writing of like half the episodes). In fact, I’m more excited for the Young Jedi Adventures than I am for Bad Batch s2, and Young Jedi Adventures is supposed to be for little, little kids (but it’s set in the High Republic Era!!! How cool is that?? Wondering if they’ll use different animation since they use a different kind of animations for their series). So yeah…the whitewashing in BB really is almost a dealbreaker for me (I’ll still watch it ofc, but until my problems are addressed, I still prefer fan-content of Bad Batch). I much prefer TotJ and YJA for the upcoming SW animated content.

Happy Friday! Unfortunately I have to go to work tomorrow but that's tomorrow evening so whatever.
lmao that video was truly inspiring, I appreciate when idols are just a tiny bit cringe. Just a little ridiculous. When idols are amazing on stage and then when they come off stage you're like "how are you famous, again?" because they truly are Just Some Dudes.
Changkyun truly is The Moment. When I figured out how horny his recent song was I had to put my phone down like okay boy. okay. okay. And I live in a studio so it's just a corner but it's still always visible... but it's okay, he can share my Taste(TM), clearly it's good :)
The first song I heard by them was "Love U" and hello??? But then I actually listened to some of their other stuff and realized they're GOOD good and got sucked deep into their older stuff. It's been really amazing to watch them adapt after Wonho left, and then again after Shownu left, but tbh when "Beautiful" or "Jealousy" comes on shuffle I have to stop everything I'm doing for it.
And then Wonho showed up with "Open Mind"? True king behavior. Like I knew it was going to be good, but he really came out swinging. He's a hot boy and he knows it and he lets us appreciate it.
The Man Crop Top Agenda is strong and we support every man who wears a crop top but Hyungwon looks especially good. He always does, but you know what I mean.
Oh dang! Really? What do you do for work that they want you to go in for work so late? Lol I agree it makes it wholesome and very relatable unlike those celebrities that are just “there” lol
Isn’t he the whole moment? And yeah he truly let out his inner horn dog recently lol ever since wonho left he was like “f it. Imma just be the horniest man monbebes have ever seen at every possible moment” 😂😂 honestly I am living for it/here for it lol
Awww I haven’t heard love u in a minute! Isn’t it good?? Like it’s subtly horny while sounding cute so it was a nice change (apart from hearing them speak English - which was crazy!!! )They did such a great job with their English albums ❤️❤️it only takes two or three songs and then bam your hooked 😂😂 ooo jealousy and beautiful really are those bops right?? Even the dances are amazing let alone the beats and the lyrics lol total chef kiss 😘
Lmao!!! “He came out swinging” 😂😂 I definitely agree with you on that one lol he really changed the game for his career (not sure if you heard about the “wonho movement” or the “post it note” movement but it was amazing to the point where he came back so it was fun) lol
Absolutely!!! I am always here for a man in a nice crop top with a good clean crisp forehead 😂😂😂
