So a while ago I was talking to @anna-scribbles and @marimbles about adrien and gender (as you do), and as a part of that conversation we said... hey do you remember that jenna marbles video where she put rhinestones all over her face?
and then, tangentially... do you remember that one clown makeup vine?
hold on i'm going somewhere with this:
We got to where I was going. but i'm still driving:

I am The Vine
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. John 5-1
God is love. What, then, could you or I do to change the nature of God? Could our own child do anything that would change our love for him? No, of course not, and if, from the human standpoint, we are able to give love to our children often when they do not deserve it, how much more love is pouring forth from our heavenly Father! Can we accept the fact that God is love, not God is love if we behave in a certain way, or not just when we are worthy and deserving?
Can we accept the fact that God is love, and that God’s rain falls on the just and the unjust alike? The principle is this: Since God is love, our good must be infinite without any ifs, ands, or buts, because God’s grace is not dependent upon something that you or I do or do not do. The grace of God cannot be withheld. We can turn the electricity on or off and we can turn the water on or off, but we cannot start or stop the flow of God.
God is, and God is love in Its completeness and fullness. “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away,” might lead one to believe, after all, that perhaps God punishes in some manner, but that is not true. If you do not abide in this truth, if you do not maintain your conscious oneness with the Christ within you, and through it your oneness with the Father, you will be purged. It will be you separating yourself from God’s grace, and thus being purged, destroyed, burned up, or withered away.
To abide in this truth is to live and move and have your being in this consciousness of your oneness with the Christ, and the Christ’s oneness with the Father.
This, of course, does not mean that you are connected with people, but connected with the Invisible, so that were you set down in mid-ocean or in the desert, you would be able to say, “Ah, but I am still a branch of the vine, and the vine is still connected with God, and therefore the place whereon I stand is holy ground.”
Every time you think thoughts of hopelessness and despair, it is as if you were acknowledging that you are a branch cut off from the vine, and the vine from Gods, and that you cannot reach either; yet all of the time it is right here where you are. It is within you, and it is Omnipresence.

I just read something about some fanfic readers on TikTok, mostly younger ones, are against AO3 because it doesn't recommend fic to them. As in, it doesn't track them and auto-feed them content using an algorithm.
I am sure it's not every younger fanfiction-reading nerd. But....
The generational divide between old internet and new internet users is so stark sometimes. Like. That younger people don't remember the individual fanfiction websites days... okay. I get that. Some of them weren't even born and time is time and it moves on. It's fine.
But to grow up with an internet where you do not get a choice, or not much of a choice, except to be fed content? Oh wow that's a yikes I've never thought about before.
Yeah, there's some filter capabilities but companies override that all the time with subtle little changes. Youtube recommends stuff constantly (often conservative videos even to me who has no history of watching or liking that shit). Twitter and Facebook got rid of chronological posts and even when you try to get rid of suggested posts, they come back. Instagram is basically all ads now. And then TikTok literally doesn't even ask you to search (and as I recall, their search function sucks), and you can like videos to change what you see *a little* but ultimately the algorithm will lead you wherever it wants.
That's so sad to grow up with that. Choice and searching and relying on your judgment and the recommendations of people you like... those are good things.
I am not like "oh those youths!" here. I am "fuck these corporations!" here. Look at this shit. It's not a rec list from someone you like and trust--it's what corporate has decided you should like. And a lot of these kids have not known anything else. That's scary and infuriating.

Isaiah 12: Joy
From the first patriarch, Abraham, to every person mentioned in the Hebrews Hall of Faith, to Peter, to Paul, to the apostle John and the Revelation given him by Christ, it is the reconciliation of all things in Christ that held their attention. #Isaiah12
Salvation
In His final words, alone with His disciples, Jesus had talked about the work of the Holy Spirit.
And when [the Advocate] comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:
about sin, because they do not believe in me;
about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, and you will see me no longer;
about judgment, because the ruler of this world…

Sunday Morning Coffee: Fruit-Bearing
Sunday Morning Coffee: Fruit-Bearing
My son wanted me to hear a sermon he thought I’d enjoy. He was right. It was excellent.
The scripture for this sermon was the first few verses of John 15, the ‘Abide in Me” chapter in which Jesus taught His disciples what it was to please God.
We can–and should–bring glory to God through the way we live our lives. John 15:1-8 says,
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

A stressful week calls for avoiding projects and drawing obscure tf2 AU lore 🙃
Also I’ve never really liked how my tf2 drawings look.. they never really look anything like the Mercs from the comics. They always look too soft, bleh. So for the first drawing I sat down for hours with references just trying to replicate the art style of the tf2 comics. They still don’t look quite right, but I think they’re the best looking tf2 faces I’ve ever drawn. So that’s good enough for me!
Although I suppose keeping the Mercs on model is kind’a lost when I made Casper (Medics Crones Dome hat) look more magical and stylized.. whoops-
