#I as an aro ace can't deal with smut

I didn't know I hc Hobie as a-spec until I saw everyone else writing him and I'm like ?!!! Why is he so horny!!!!!!!
I mean he's got I get it but tbh Hobie is REALLY attractive, tall, and a guitarist. I feel like he gets flirted at all the time. And he either doesn't notice or doesn't care, and if he does notice that means they're trying REALLY hard (too hard for his taste)
I mean... I could see a version of him who has one night stands (in a respectable mutual way) but even then I don't feel like he'd be very verbally vulgar or anything until alone with the person IDK Why
PLEASE tell me about your A-spec Hobie hcs cause so much as this smut is not computing for me!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHA IM SO NORMAL ABOUT ASPEC HOBIE. *cough* I mean I have a lot of thoughts about this one. He never even did anything remotely flirtatious in the movie or the comics so idk where the flirty sex maniac came from. He seems more of a goofy and playful person in my eyes (like all my male friends were growing up.) But to each their own ig. I'm gonna split this in half and talk about my HCs for his Aromantic Identity first and then discuss his Asexual Identity. This has been on my mind for a while now. TW for sex mention.
Aro Headcanons
I love the way that @ministroni portrays him as feeling alterous attraction.
(In simple terms Alterous Attraction is when someone forms a deep emotional connection with a person. It borders between platonic and romantic. However it all depends on the person.)
He genuinely doesn't give a single damn about the norm regarding romantic or platonic relationships
He will kiss his friends.
Ace Headcanons
For the life of me I can't see this man shagging anyone.
I'm sorry I just can't.
However after speaking with the masses (my mutuals) I've reconsidered and have come to terms with the fact that he probably has had sex at some point but doesn't see the point in it.
Quoting @cqcophobiq he'll probably be like, "yeah it's fun but it isn't that big of a deal. Don't get society's obsession with it." And I have to admit that they're right.
(The closest thing that I can relate this to is him being Greysexual or Demisexual)
He'll probably never be the first person to ever initiate tho because it's not something that's important to him
His sexual attraction ebbs and flows. It's never consistent.
(You see what I did there 🤭)
However he's probably more likely to feel sexual attraction towards someone he's emotionally close to.
A/N: Sexuality is so fluid so it's hard to pinpoint my exact thoughts on this. I kept changing things throughout writing this post so it took me so long to come out with it. And even still I feel like there's still more here that I wanna look into here. Like why he's been hypersexualized in the fandom despite him never being shown as flirtatious. Even if you look in the comics he's never written as someone who's really interested in a romantic relationship (I'm ignoring his wife lol). But I'm not the one to write that post.

※Request and writing guidelines and just overall what to expect from my blog <3※
Background information about myself
General information, interests, pronouns, DNI, etc
I am Lost or sometimes known as Melody (My online alias, they are by no means by actual names)
I am 18
This is my main blog where I'm just as annoying
I go by all pronouns and do count myself as genderfluid (I am afab)
Bi(myself)
I love to write (obviously), draw (as you can tell from my main blog), BAKE, and clean any space that is not of my own because god where I do I even begin.
I don't have many DNI honestly, my blog is pretty much open to anyone except I am uncomfy with older men. I don't mind them online but I do write self-insert ship stuff so take that with what you will.
I am VERY specific about certain ships. I do not care much what people ship, as long as it isn't gross (child and adult or animals with people) or whatever, I won't care because I understand having a specific ship most people hate but the only reason you ship it is because of VERY SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCES that would have to occur that you could EVER imagine it in but you can't simply say that in a short breath so people automatically think you're weird or some creep when no it's not like that LET ME EXPLAIN- PLeAse
DO NOT INTERACT IF
You are okay with minor x adult ship or Beastiality
You are homophobic or transphobic (this means the exclusion of nonbinary people too, incels)
you ship siblings
Do not include Aro/ace people in the queer community
You are conservative (this is a pro-choice blog)
Fandoms I write for
Blue ones are my current brain rots as of writing this and will probably post about them the most (probably mostly Genshin though) but if you request any of these I will try my best :D
I have intense tunnel vision I'm sorry
BungoStrayDogs
Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun
Servamp
Genshin Impact
The Owl house
gravity falls (MAYBE??? still dont know about this one honestly maybe headcanons about Dipper and Mable's future or something)
Danganronpa
supernatural
Security Breach (mostly interpretive with this, it can be seen as romantic OR platonic, I can see the appeal but I cannot forget that they are ROBOTS 😭)
My Hero Academia (Haven't finished or started it much tho, I will literally only judge them based on what I have found online and how they look)
Kamisama Kiss
Voltron
Inuyasha
Black Butler
Breath Of The Wild
Mystic messenger
The Arcana
WILL WRITE ✨
Fluff
Smut
Angst
Multi chapters or harem type deals, where it all sort of interconnects I always find those so cool <3
talk of mental illnesses but will not do so if I am not knowledgable on something (see my restrictions for more info)
Platonic/familial with children (I.E child! Reader + [insert character] but purely platonic or familial)
Teen! reader x teen character pairings are okay though, I'm a teen myself but once I'm an adult I will slowly migrate away from that or age the characters up with me :)
Platonic pairings
canon Character x canon character pair headcanon (platonic, familial, romantic, etc) It doesn't have to be self-inserts^^
Any kind of reader, from god, mortal, fem, male (though I'm more hesitant to do male! Reader x male characters because I am afab but Im genderfluid so I can only feel comfortable taking such requests from MLM individuals if I even feel comfortable at all) and so on and so forth :)
QUEER HEADCANONS, if you headcanon [character] as trans or as aro or as anything like that I will 100% do so.
Spicy or suggestive but there will always be a warning
same with descriptive gore/horror but I will always put a distinct warning
Poly relationships, not poly myself but I am a multi-shipper and I say we have two hands for a reason so go ahead, give me the polycules 👁👁
FAMILY HEADCANONS, like if you wanted me to write about your reader having a family with a character and whether or not that reader and character have kids and if they do whether or not they adopt 🥺
SOCIAL MEDIA AUS OML I MAY START ONE THEY ARE SO FUN
JUST AU's IN GENERAL ARE SO COOL OH MY GOD
I WILL NOT WRITE
Anything regarding really complex mental health stuff such as eating disorders, depression, OCD, Bipolar, etc. I do not have these disorders nor am I knowledgeable enough to write about them (highly doubt anyone would ask but I wanted to make it clear)
Minor characters in NSFW situations
NO INCEST
Genshin is a bit more nuanced with ages but characters like Bennett, Fischl, QiQi, Sayu, Yao Yao, Klee, Chongun, Xinqiu, Xiangling, Barbara, Noelle, Diona, Razor, Dori, Nahida, Freminet (debatable but I can't tell with him honestly), and Sigewinne (there might be more) AS OF THIS MOMENT I see as all MINORS. I may have missed a few and many more will be released but will try to update this asap. (I think Dori is a minor? I've seen mixed reactions but I'm just gonna say she is or that I'm uncomfortable with writing anything suggestive with a character that looks too much like the children characters)
Tumblr media
Anyways, please stay safe, hydrated, and have an amazing day <3

What are the characters sexuality’s?
I've been wondering if anyone would ask this, although I also slightly feared getting this ask because I don't have full answers for everyone. I'll answer what I can though! Read-more for length, but I'll preface this by saying that spirits tend to be queer more than they're not.
Vivian: Gay. Graham: Gay. Shannon: Aro, Ace. I went into detail in a previous post, but he's sex/romance positive, he just has never had any attraction of any kind. As for arousal, he knows what it is, and he's not familiar with experiencing it himself. Sophie: I previously said bi, but I think pan is more accurate. (I use both terms for myself, forgive me.) She sees herself as bi, given who she's dated and married, but I'd argue pan is more likely. Oh, and she's someone who doesn't know this about herself yet, but... She'd thrive in a poly relationship. Rhett: Definitely pansexual. El: I'm not 100% sure for him. Aro spectrum seems likely. Maybe pan otherwise? He finds characters in books attractive more than he finds real people and spirits attractive. He also reads a lot of smut scenes in books (what Vivian doesn't know can't hurt him!). I bet he's a monsterfucker. It would not surprise me. Howie: Pan, and uh, his physical adulthood will be filled with overlapping relationships/encounters. You know that curiosity he has? Well. It applies to this too! Lots of kink experimentation, although he'll happily embrace being vanilla when he's done figuring out his preferences. Beau: Uhhhh... I can't spoil much, given what I have planned for the prologue, so I'm settling for, "Bee likes men." Also... Bee is kinky later. Phineas: Pan. Poor man has not had a relationship in a long, long time though... Also I should mention he will not date humans. Never has, never will. He doesn't hate humans, although he may not be their biggest fan sometimes. He can't deal with the short lifespans. Mir: They're into women. There are other characters, but I figure since Phineas and Mir are coming up and I've mentioned them a few times, I'd include them on this list. Plus I haven't thought over this much for them. Haha.

Inserting myself into the slow burn convo. I personally love slow burn, however it's more about romance. I know sexual desires work differently, so I'm more accepting of people doing it despite still feeling confused and not being in touch with their emotions. I think it's pretty realistic. I just can't deal with early love confessions, I also enjoy the chase, so if the couple gets together for real so soon I simply lose interest. Your stories are always long, so honestly reading a chapter that's 20k feels like reading 3-5 shorter ones, so the burn doesn't seem that fast, you know? Also, as an aro-ace hoe in theory I really enjoy your smut scenes, you don't write about hardcore kinks and I appreciate that (nothing against them, but some make me uncomfortable and turn me off completely and I'm a bit tired of sadistic doms and BDSM stories with overly subby readers). I don't even need smut if the plot is interesting enough, in fact sex scenes can either make or break a story, but essentially what I'm saying is, you're doing really well in that department. I was kinda shocked with the amount of smut in the latest chapter of AITD, but it was good and made sense, so I didn't mind it, haha. I'm not even that into fake dating AUs, but you make it work. :3
i love reading and watching slow burns - you're right in that it is about the tension, the small glances, tiny touches, the romance growing. the chase and build up is the best part. i used to think i could write such things but after i was working on one fic (in a different fandom) that i thought was a slow burn, i had multiple people tell me the pacing was too fast for it to be a slow burn so i removed the tag on ao3 for it. i think now i would be too paranoid to tag anything as a "slow burn" for fear of letting someone down who thought they were getting one and disagreed with my pacing.
putting the rest behind a cut just so it isn't too long on ppl's dashes.
my general rule of thumb when i write fics for this blog is i work on the build up and end with a big smut scene. AITD has sort of thrown out all those rules seeing as part one had no smut, and the other two parts have quite a bit of it. however, i told myself that was fine in order to write the story how i wanted. my goal was each sex scene not only pushes hwa and the reader closer, but also helps the reader navigate her own growing feelings on top of new sexual experiences that propels the story into the final act. i can talk about that more in depth once the final part is posted.
as for kinks, that is another thing that i change depending on the story. sometimes i can spend ages deciding what dynamic fits the story best and what sex would work for that dynamic. however, even outside of kinks for me is dirty talk - i think dirty talk is the thing i take the most seriously when crafting a smut scene and i try to alter it depending on the dynamic. for example, my other fic with an inexperienced reader is Addicting Kitten. hwa in that calls her a slut during dirty talk and the reader loves it, and comes into her own taking that word as a symbol of her controlling her own sexuality and space with him. But that didn't feel correct for AITD and therefore Hwa never uses that language in the dirty talk with the reader, i opted to use a lot more praising instead. these are things i focus on more than what kinks to use.
ultimately, my fics are for me exploring certain things based off my own life, my own experiences (good and bad) in a safe way using writing, which is my passion. i'm always taken aback by someone sending in thoughtful and engaging messages like yours, anon, and i appreciate it. thank you for reading my fics. <3

Honestly falling in love with foreign ships can be so entertaining when it comes to AMV’s 😂 I don’t know what to think about this, but I feel like I have known this song since the 90s, but it’s like 5 years old.

I know that this aroace Yelena topic may be tiring (as an aroace person that has been seeing this discourse all over my Tumblr and sometimes on TikTok, I am lol)
I have a problem where I can see the two sides of this, on one side i know that it is fiction, if I don't like it, i won't read it (personally I don't read Yelena smut because i don't feel comfortable for example) BUT as was said before, when you take a lgbtqia character, gay, lesbian, and turn them straight, most people would NOT take this very well, and the writers, fans that would headcanon and write them as straight would continue doing it anyway, the same ive been seeing with Yelena
My main problem is with the reaction twords the fact that Yelena is canonically Aroace, and everyone is trying to erase this by saying "that's not even explored in the comics" or *hoping* that in the MCU she "hopefully won't be Aroace" and that's so frustrating u know? If it was a gay or lesbian character with a chance to be canon in the MCU, people would celebrate, demand that marvel and Disney would make them gay, but just the thought of one Aroace character and suddenly it's all questionable? "Oh maybe she isn't"
I know that at the end of the day I can't control anyone's writing or headcanon, and that's alright, just don't be an jerk and put a whole community down just so you can fuck the character in ur head, or ship them with anyone
And about the "oh but aro and ace people can date and have sex" yes they can, but are their experience being written the way a asexual would deal with it? The way a aromantic person would feel? Most of the time I'm sure that it would be a big no
Again I'm not trying to attack you and I'm sorry if I sounded rude or anything, i follow you and I love your writing, but I've seen this discussion so much and it's like when we (Aroace people) talk about it, no one is really listening and it's frustrating sometimes
Sorry if it's too much and if my way of though didn't make sense lol
prerequisite context: i am never and will never deny the power of fanfiction to be morally abhorrent, and i have never and will never claim that fanfiction writers are never responsible for the context we produce.
so I guess there are a few main reasons people are claiming writing yelena within sexual and romantic contexts is bad, according to the people in my inbox:
1) unequal fan backlash
2) unequal fan celebration/comics = mcu
3) improper representation of ace/aro people who do engage in sexual/romantic contexts
in regards to those:
fan backlash and celebration are exceedingly poor reasons to do/not do something. mostly because, especially in the MCU, there are fans who are homophobic, they're conservative, they're trump supporters. several actors are those things. there's no reason to use fan response (whether backlash or celebration) as a motivation to do something, because fans are sometimes wrong. additionally, "fans" is a pretty wide term. are people who prefer comics fans? young teens? people who don't write fanfic? those who only make edits? tik tokers? cosplayers? whose opinions should we listen to? whose shouldn't we?
plus, as i've canon compliance in the MCU is a pretty massive beast. characters are whitewashed left and right, their origin stories changed and plotlines are plucked out of thin air or altered heavily from the source material. yelena can be aroace in one comic run and not in the other. what i've also seen are post-production comments, which are often made to pander so that directors can say they made "MCU's first ace character" without putting in the work. is that something we should listen to? it brings up the golden question: are fanfic writers responsible for fixing broken media?
i don't think so. we're often people doing this for free (or close to it). we're broke, we work other jobs, we have other hobbies. we don't have sensitivity writers or editors or researchers. why are we responsible for fixing massive canon mistakes in a 2k fic about pet play, and why aren't the creators of the media we're writing fanfiction about the center of the backlash?
lastly, the line "are their experience being written the way a asexual would deal with it? The way a aromantic person would feel? Most of the time I'm sure that it would be a big no" is exceedingly odd to me. who says ace people can't want to be werewolves? or engage in omegaverse? or fuck in hallways? or engage in BDSM?
what does it mean to write an aro/ace character in these contexts? what doesn't it mean? if a creator thinks aro/ace people are liars, and that ace people need to go to conversion therapy, but writes a fluffy yelena fic where her and reader have a movie night with no sexual/romantic context, is that good aro/ace representation? why or why not?
all in all, i understand if there's some frustration. but every time someone takes the "writing yelena in sexual/romantic contexts is Always Morally Wrong" side, all i see is misplaced and uninformed criticism. it's 100% better to either write the fics you want to see or support creators who do, than come into inboxes of people who don't.
