58 for the kiss prompt??
HI ILY THANK U FOR THIS
58. “It’s been years since we’ve seen each other and I didn’t know what happened to you because of secret identities” kiss from this list by @kisspromptsforthelovesquare
The train of her dress catches in the jamb when she slams the door. "Are you fucking kidding me?" she says.
Adrien looks down at his loafers. The floor has been freshly polished. This room is probably booked for another wedding later today. After Marinette finishes taking her vows at hers.
She takes a step forward, fingers clutching so hard at her bouquet that the stems start to split. "Adrien," she says. "What did Tikki mean when she said you're Chat Noir?"
Music floats through the corridor from the other hall. He knows no one's going to wonder where he is, but what about the bride?
He swallows, still looking at his loafers. "...You weren't meant to find out today," he says quietly.
She scoffs. "So after the reception was your idea of good timing?"
Adrien says nothing.
She reaches her hands up, like she wants to scrub them down her face, then thinks better of it. They still haven't even gotten around to the actual ceremony yet -- she can't ruin her makeup.
"God, Adrien, I just--" She sighs. "How could you not have told me before?"
"...There was never a good time," he says.
"Never?" she repeats. "You came back to Paris six months ago!"
He bristles. As if he didn't think about it back then. As if he wouldn't have told her at the airport on the very first day, when she'd outrun Alya and Nino and jumped on him when her engagement ring brushed against his neck.
Does she feel differently about that hug now? Now that she knows he's Chat Noir, her ex-boyfriend, the boy who disappeared as soon as Hawk Moth was arrested?
"I don't know what you want me to say," he says. "It's not like it would've changed anything."
Her eyes cut towards him. "Adrien, do you really think I'd be getting married today if I knew who you were?"
The words hang in the air, reverbing in his ears long after it stopped in the empty room. She can't possibly mean what he thinks she means. She's been with that guy for two years, they have an apartment together, he's pretty sure she's mentioned adopting a cat soon--
"That's not--" He struggles for a moment. "Of-- of course you would, I mean, you love him--"
"Then what stopped you from telling me in the first place?"
He swallows hard.
He knew. He knew full well what would've happened if he'd told her.
Her eyes are moist behind her mascared lashes. "I can't go back out there," she says.
"What?" he says. He steps forward, edging around the skirt of her dress. "Marinette-- no. You have to."
"I can't, I--" Her voice cracks. She turns her eyes up, holding back tears.
"Marinette." He grabs her hands, almost desperately, and squeezes. "Marinette. This is your future. Your life."
"It was my life," she says. "When I thought I wouldn't see you again." Her gaze shifts back to his face. "How can I promise myself to someone that isn't you?"
Her ring feels like a blade against his thumb.
"You kind of already did," he whispers.
She sighs. Her head drops to rest on his chest. Her veil looks like a white tulip petal, spreading across the floor behind her.
Careful not to dislodge her bun, he cups her head. Leaning his face down, he kisses her hair.
"You'll be okay," he says softly. He takes her by the arms and helps her straighten. "You'll be more than okay. I mean, he has much better hair than me anyway."
She laughs wetly, dabbing at her lashes with a finger. "That's impossible and you know it."
He cracks a pained smile.
He wonders when the next flight out of Paris is tonight.

God!Reader who can't take anything serious..
Based on me, there's a lot of cursing since I cannot control myself and mentions of death and blood and possibly ooc
It was already past twelve, but you didn't care, but you'll have to when school starts again.
Scrolling ever so carelessly through fics upon fics. Your phone displayed thousands of words at once, words you can read in a matter of seconds. "How cool would it be if I was in one of those isekai'd fanfics?" You thought, giggling at the thought of Truck-kun running into your bedroom wall and hitting you.
But that was hours ago, you fell asleep with your phone still on and woke up in a patch of grass, your first thought was: what the fuck.
Thankfully, you woke up near Windrise, you approached the Statue of Seven, maybe you were like the Traveller and able to summon the elements throught the statues.
It didn't work.
Just as soon your disappointment faded you heard a yell from behind you, "HALT IMPOSTOR!" You turned to see Amber with two other knights, angry expressions on their face, "what."
"You are under arrest for stealing our God's face!" She yelled again, taking a few cautios steps toward you, "You mean Ve- Barbatos?" You asked, confused because why the fuck are you being interrogated all of a sudden?
"Don't play dumb! You are coming with me" Amber said about take your arm and drag you away if you didn't dodge. "Ayo, isn't that kidnapping?" You said taking the situation you're in rather lightly, you only panicked when she took out her bow, "lmao what're you gonna do with that? Shoot me?" You asked, giggling and preventing yourself from laughing even harder.
Then she charged a pyro arrow at you, thankfully you dodged, barely. The Knights took out their weapon, preparing to take for combat
This was the signal, signal to run the fuck away🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
You managed to run all the way to Stone Gate, you were losing Amber and the knights but she had shot your ankle, so you continued to limp all the way to Liyue.
Meanwhile, Amber groaned, "It'll be fine, they wouldn't be able to get far with that bruise, the millelith could deal with them" she said before turning back to report to Jean, the other two knights followed.
"Fuck that hurts...." you exhaled in pain, but you managed to lose Amber and now you're in Liyue, "Is she that mad that I didn't build her, or am I-" it finally clicked in, you somehow got isekai'd in Genshin Impact, and in impostor sagau too! So like... were you a God?
You observed your ankle, and the blood was gold, wow for once you finally feel special/j that's nice and all but you're still being hunted down, and YOUR ANKLE STILL HURTS.
"Should I like, pull it out? Ehh what if I no, no but maybe it'll relieve the pain? NO! No.." you were having an eternal debate with yourself, when you noticed another person, "Oh hi" you say, the person pulls out their polearm, "Oh" you stood getting ready to dash the fuck away, but it's Xiao. You can't outrun the Xiao, like you cannot outpizza the hut. But then he noticed the golden blood on the ground which made him instantly come to you to observe your ankle, "uhhh, ankle kink much?"
"Your grace!" He exclaims, so yay you actually were a God ig.
Part two coming soon because I said so

Rectify | Bucky Barnes
Tumblr media
Part 2/37 | Part One, Part Three
Summary: I've lived every day for the past five years looking over my shoulder. I knew they'd come for me, it was inevitable. I was foolish to think I could outrun my past. It's followed me everywhere I go, lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Never would I have anticipated that the shadows would lead me to the light.
Bucky Barnes x OC
Series Warnings: Discussion of human trafficking, alcohol consumption, graphic depictions of violence, sexual content, discussion of suicidal thoughts.
a/n: Hi everyone, thank you for checking this out, I appreciate any and all support! This series is also posted on Ao3 and Wattpad if you prefer those formats/platforms! This is a completed series, and it's going to take some time for me to transfer it to Tumblr, so please bear with me!
"That seems like a lot of blood on you, miss. Do you mind telling me whose blood it is and why it's now on you?"
I see the building I need and speed towards the high fences with adrenaline rushing through my veins, the blood beginning to dry on my skin. I'm not sure this will even work but it's my last resort and only hope. I slow down once I reach the security gate and roll down my window. My hands are covered in another man's blood and I'm sure I look deranged.
"Identification." The man with dark sunglasses states. I swallow my nerves and clear my throat.
"I don't have any. I'm here seeking refuge." I say in hopes that he will let me through. I never wanted to be here and never thought I would be here, but if I want to live it's my only option. The man leans closer to me and pulls his sunglasses down to where I can see his eyes peering over. He takes a quick look inside my car and surely notices my blood-stained hands and car. He readjusts the sunglasses on his face and clears his throat.
"So I'm just supposed to let you in? You could have a weapon of mass destruction in the car." In a way he isn't wrong but I'm not about to get into technicalities right now. I shake my head and pleadingly look into his eyes.
"Sir, I am here seeking refuge. You can interrogate me and search my car. I don't have anything on me or in the car that could hurt anyone. Please." My voice wavers at the end sensing that this might not work the way I hoped it would.
What if they don't let me in? What am I supposed to do then? Am I going to have to run and hide again somewhere else? That would be pointless, they would just find me again. They know where I'm at now, there's no hiding by myself anymore.
The man stands up straight and walks back to the small booth which controls the traffic barrier. He speaks into a walkie talkie, I can't hear what he's saying. I pick at the blood-crusted skin around my fingers and watch the man intently, tears burning at the corners of my eyes. After a few minutes of dialogue, the man comes back to my car.
"You're going to drive through and take a left. There will be someone waiting to take you in for questioning and we're going to search your car. If anything harmful or dangerous is found you will be criminally tried in the court of law. Do you understand?" I nod my head with wide eyes.
I can't believe it worked. He walks back to the booth and lifts the bar, I roll my car slowly through and follow the path he told me to. Just as he said, there was someone waiting for me. I put my car into park and turn it off, grabbing my bag I had thrown in the passenger seat.
"Put the bag down and step out of the car." The man waiting for me states with a tone of authority. I do as he instructs and I close the car door behind me. The man approaches and pulls out a pair of handcuffs.
"You are not under arrest, you are being detained for security reasons. Do not resist. Resisting will result in criminal charges. I am going to escort you to an interrogation room and your items will be searched." He rambles on as he tightens the cuffs around my wrists behind my back. I nod my head in understanding and walk alongside the man.
Glass doors part for us as we enter the modern-style building. There are people all over the place, talking, making phone calls, putting projections into the air. I look around at the operations and I'm surprised they would walk someone who is detained through this area, there's so much information that could potentially be gathered. As we walk through the busy room, I can't help but feel self conscious as people stare at me as we pass through.
The man escorts me down a hallway that's lined with heavy iron doors. We stop in front of one and he unlocks it with his card. He pushes me slightly into the room and sits me down in the chair, connecting my cuffs to a metal fixture on the desk so I can't go anywhere.
"Someone will be in shortly." He leaves the room and I hear the click of the lock. I look around the monochromatic room. It's devoid of any decorations or warmth. It's very cold, and I spot a camera in the corner of the room, it's no surprise they're already monitoring my every move.
I anxiously tap my foot on the hard floor, waiting for someone to come and question me. I know once they search my belongings I'll likely be glued to this chair for hours, if not days once they figure out what I have. The book will either be the reason I'm offered protection or I'm turned away, unfortunately there is no middle ground. I'll have to play my cards right and convince them that I'm on their side and worthy of being protected.
I'm not sure of how much time has passed as I'm ripped from my thoughts abruptly when the door opens and a man steps in. He's dressed simply, in a long dark coat accompanied with a black shirt, pants, and an eyepatch. I make eye contact with his good eye and watch as he silently takes the seat across from me. He adjusts in the seat and stares at me, I stare back. From his confidence I can tell he probably has a relatively high rank.
"That seems like a lot of blood on you, miss. Do you mind telling me whose blood it is and why it's now on you? And who you even are?" I swallow and nod my head to the intimidating man seated across from me.
"I am Adalyn Averina and I do not know the man's name, but I am almost certain he worked for my former employer. He showed up at my work and threatened me in the parking lot. I cut his face, and he followed me home. He didn't make it out of my house, it was either him or me." I give him the short and not-so-sweet version of the story. The man nods his head and boldly asked his next question,
"Was that man after the Hydra material found in your bag?" I lick my lips and nod at the man, of course they found it. I decide honesty is the best policy and hopefully transparency is my ticket to being protected.
"Yes." I watch the man's facial expressions, trying to get a read of what's going on in his mind, but his face is a blank slate.
"What's inside that book and why did he want it?" I scrunch my eyebrows together confused as to how he knows the book is Hydra material but doesn't know the importance of it. Or perhaps he does know and is testing me to see if I tell the truth. I realize this is the time to start making my demands in order to secure my safety instead of freely handing over information. I need to play my cards right or else they can take my information and kick me to the streets.
"Sure, I'll be happy to explain and cooperate on the condition that I receive asylum and aid from Shield." I lay out my terms not confident that I have the upper hand in this situation. They could easily just translate the book without my help and have all of the information. My hands are shaking in the cuffs and I feel myself start to sweat. The man rubs his chin and leans forward.
"Why would we give aid to a Hydra conspirator?" He has a valid point and if the roles were reversed I would likely ask the same questions.
"I'm more of a Hydra defector, I did just kill one of their men." I answer quickly, hoping my answer is satisfactory enough to get my wish granted. The man takes a deep breath and nods.
"Alright then. You explain yourself and the material you're in possession of, and in return we will set you up with our protection program. A new life and identity with some conditions." I nod my head eagerly.
"Thank you." I say appreciatively and get into the story I've dreaded telling for years. As I tell the story, I notice the man's subtle body language, insinuating that he's far more interested than he's letting on. I go into detail, but not too much. I tell him the important things he needs to know and nothing more. By the end of my recounting, the man has both hands on the metal table in front of me. He takes a few moments before he speaks,
"I'll be right back." He rises from the chair and walks out of the room. I nod my head and watch him leave, anxious for whatever is going to happen next. I feel the now fully dried blood on my hands, making them feel crusty and stiff. I rest my forehead on the cool metal table and close my eyes, trying to calm myself down.
The adrenaline is beginning to wear off and I recall the events that transpired only a short time ago. I killed that man, stabbed him right through the neck with no chance of survival. I feel myself start sweating more, like I'm going to panic but I try my best to keep my breaths even and deep. Shield doesn't owe me anything, the man can easily go back on his word and not grant me a new identity or not offer any sort of protection. Shield is definitely capable of extracting the information from the book and leaving me for Hydra's wrath.
My panic is cut short as the man walks back in. I lift my head from the table and it feels as though a rock was dropped in my stomach. My eyes are locked on him in a wide panic, eager to hear what he has to say. His next words make or break my future and whether I have much longer to live.
"We are prepared to make you an offer. We offer you a position here, with us. You'll be protected and work in our labs researching what you already seem to know so much about and work on an assignment pertaining to your skillset. If you decline this offer, we'll set you up with a new identity just as promised." I know that the new identity options comes with its own set of conditions, which are uncertain and will likely provide much less protection that what I am currently comfortable with. If I take him up on his employment offer, I'll be under the direct protection of Shield. It's a no brainer to me.
"I'll work for Shield." I confirm and the man nods affirmatively.
"Welcome to the team, I am Director Fury." He introduces himself. I breathe a breath of what seems like fresh air, I will live to see another day.
"Director Fury, it's a pleasure to give my skills to Shield, thank you." I give him my appreciation of the offer. It's likely he will never know that he saved my life today.
I never envisioned myself working for Shield ever, the idea of going from one major organization to another of the same nature never sat right with me, but here I am. It's not like I had much of a choice, it was a life or death situation. However, I intend to make the most out of this and not repeat my mistakes that I made while I was a part of Hydra.

I don't know if it's Jester-exclusive or a generic line, but, upon finding a... gramophone? (I genuinely don't remember what it was) shaped like the Siren, my Jester claimed to have listened to that song before. Also, about Dismas's backstory, he says upon leaving the shrine that he loved the thrill, still does, and this adds to the guilt. He also has a line questioning if he was really that desperate or crossed the line of greed somewhere when accepting the job.
I was looking into DD2 barks for this, I’ll answer you about the Jester in the read more! About Dismas, you’re right, he does mention he loved the thrill and he does question his own greed! It’s been a year since I’ve last played his story, I have completely forgotten about it.
Here, for those who also forgotten, I’ve compiled his barks and the narrator’s voicelines about his backstory in DD2! HWM barks are bolded (the top one he says on the Shrine hero selection, and the bottom one he says on the road after leaving the node.) Narrator/Academic’s voicelines are italicized.
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
“Walls will never again hold me.”
Chapter One: Freedom A prison riot! A fleeting chance to escape incarceration! [Fight against the prison guards] He would be a fugitive, a hunted man, but a free one nonetheless…
[Leaving the Shrine] [Victory] “I earned that second chance.” [Failure] “What's a few broken knuckles, eh?”
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
“Freedom was nothing like what I'd hoped for.”
Chapter Two: Laying Low Harried by a pursuing garrison, he took refuge in the foetid canals of the city. Concealment took its toll, and soon he began to see himself in the furtive, scurrying pests that formed an unfortunate portion of his meager diet. Freedom, once so fondly imagined, had become a vortex of degradation.
“Justice is seldom seen on the road.”
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
“Can't teach an old dog new tricks.”
Chapter Three: One Last Job He was sick and starving. And in desperation, offered his expertise to an unscrupulous malefactor. Shackled once more to an unsavoury task by an advance of gold, he lined his belly, girded himself, and prepared for One. Final. Heist.
“A meal wasn't all I was starved for.”
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
“Was I desperate? Yes. Was I greedy...?”
Chapter Four: Highway Robbery The stagecoach arrived, and he set himself to the business of bloodshed and robbery!  [Stagecoach robbery fight] He fulfilled his obligations with exceptional lethality, but his grim satisfaction would prove short-lived…
[Leaving the Shrine] [Victory] “Loved the thrill... and hated that I still loved it.” [Failure] “Ought to have known better.”
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
“Regret binds fiercer than any manacles.”
Chapter Five: Shackled The lifeless bodies of a woman and child, horribly mutilated by errant gunfire, stared spectrally through the remnants of the coach door. Arrested by the ghoulish sight, he felt the cold chains of remorse tighten around his heart. Guilt was a pursuer he could never outrun, a prison he would never escape.
“Did he set me up? Does it even matter?”
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
[After completing chapter five all heroes share the same bark bubble, but the road bark is different for each one.]
“I am stronger for having relived my past.”
[+1 mastery reward]
“So much for second chances.”
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
About the Jester’s bark on the Academic’s Study, I can’t say for sure, but I believe what you saw (“I’ve heard this before”) was a shared bark. Barks are oddly labeled on DD2, but my reasoning as to why this isn’t an exclusive bark is the fact that it is not unique. Here, on the Siren’s curio barks, I’ve bolded the ones that ARE unique, so you can see the difference for yourself!

Oh also, these are the heroes which I believe correspond to each number! I’ve arrived to this conclusion after checking the other barks for the other curios, which you can see for yourself in this google doc. I’ve also tried to bold the bits that sound like unique barks there, but there were some curios that were so messy and differently numbered from the rest that I didn’t try to guess. Messy messy game files.

Maroon x Blue Sunday Lovin'
Side Note: This was penned right after the game and debrief with second dad. So yes, late post, yet again. Was talking to my second dad after getting home as he can still outrun millennials on a full court basketball game. LOL. He even joked that during their time, height is not an advantage. Also, those hey days were spent in no less than Katipunan. He pushed the envelope further saying that he used to watch games live but traffic is just so bad; and he's glad that he didn't get a cardiac arrest live via satellite, too. There goes today's game debriefing. Later, I slid a note about how maroon mixes so well with blue. Ang ganda. Parang kumikinang siya sa mata ko.
Meanwhile, a friend who is a legit UAAP fan slid a DM asking since when I became a fan. This is a really funny story, sobrang babaw to be precise. Back in college I sighed over the thought of going to a game to represent your school in UAAP basketball. It's like a euphoric pill I can not swallow because I am but an outsider. One of the reasons why I commute from Las Pinas to Diliman is because I wanted to watch a game live and to cheer for my school. HAHAHAHAHHA. Never mind that I'm but a graduate school student with 36 units down and a thesis that's left to rot. Never mind that I still feel like an outsider. There's something about this little dream turned reality that makes me really giddy.
Going back to second dad... I found an opening to say that blue looks more and more tempting. Of course, he whacked back saying that I already have blue in my blood, only from Leon Guinto. UGH. And that, my LS dream will just turn my heart black. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. He reminded me that he gave it a try himself and that I just need to focus on my digital game. LOL. Eto na naman po kami ng second dad ko. Nagde-debate na naman na akala mo totoong anak niya ako. JUSQ. I knew what he means naman. But, I didn't back down saying that since I'm dabbling with AI, I'm wondering if using it in LS will make things better and faster.
One of the things I shared to him was that I'd most likely fail the exam. He said: Panigurado papasa ka. I was taken aback since I feel like I'm so clunky and can be labelled as sakto lang in all things I do. Ang bitbit ko lang is my intention, thus being intentional. (Redundancy is the key to me. CHZ.)
So, what's my take on today's game?
Hindi ako pikon. Start pa lang, I said sana matawid ng UP pero I have a hunch this would either be a close and tough fight OR we'll go home without the bacon.
Also, ang ganda ng galaw ng Katips. Pero, and weird lang din ng mga tawag. Unli freethrow Sunday po tayo, ladies and chemenemen. In fairness, may certain certainty bawat bitaw ng Blue Eagles. 'Yung tipong humihinga muna, sisipat, saka babato. Dagdagan mo pa ng dasal na may Jesuit vibe 'yan. I even saw a few female lolas na nag-antanda bago mag-game. HAHAHAHA. Heswita pong tunay. Tabi na agad Maroons. LOL.
UP naman today parang more of instincts and tactics. LOLOLLOLLOLLOLL. Sorry but true. This is only the second live game I watched. The first is the UP-Ateneo final game a few years back. I don't follow UAAP in general unlike my college days. Wala lang. Gusto ko lang talaga salpukan ng maroon and blue. Ganda. Visual appeal: 1000000. The stark contrast is such a vibe. The cool blues and the heated maroons.
Lemme add that the school hymns and cheers actually show that legit stark contrast. 'Yung Maroons, very high horse na emotionally packed. Medyo bordering na ng you can't sit with us. Ganun din naman Blue Eagles kaso mas subtle and mas brainy and poetic. LOL. Gets ba? Same alley but different store fronts and merchs. EMS. Me to myself: UP pa U-U-U pa kayo, U-WI tuloy tayo neto. Hahahaha. Also me: Buti na lang nanalo Katips para choosing the school won't need a spoonful of sugar that night. Also me ulit: Win or lose, it's maroon I CHZ. Tabi.
I won't go down the commentary route because that's not my cup of tea. My voice is raspy because it's just so nice to let loose after so much work and personal stuff that's happening. I just need a distraction. Watching games live is an experience on its own. Parang may pasavogue and of course, seeing the asses of players who perform is cute; walang pagnanasa. Saka, true pa rin, napapansin ko lang players kapag may silbi sila sa game like my super crush LA Tenorio. Mula noon, hanggang ngayon. Masipag. Maangas. Grounded. Magaling mag-English and Tagalog. Simple pero bumabaon. Ganern. 'Di ko sure if perky ba ass niya kasi ilong niya nakikita kong nauuna e. LOL.
BTW, I saw the shushing up close. In fairness to the Atenistas, unbothered. ALAVEETTTT. 'Yan ang isang strength nila. Tahimik lang pero 'pag may magandang play, they babble. CHZ. And it's so fun to be near the side of Ateneo, too. Nag-sorry pa 'yung girl sa unahan ko nung natalo. I replied naman that deserving sa win and that it's just a game. She smiled back. Hihihihihihihi.
I wanna see UP and Ateneo in the finals!!!

"Uhhhh…." There were no words available to describe just how close you are to fainting from the thick tension in the room, Diluc looked at you expectantly as if telling you to tell him everything already.
He gave you the look once again and at some point in that moment you pondered whether or not should you take him seriously, he had been the clown of the fandom for doing unexpectedly funny shit such as taking on life with such edge that can cut glass, it took all your willpower for your mouth not to erupt with a stupid grin; he was your boss, the least you could do in his presence was to be decent.
The position you were in somehow reminded you of certain.. unholy things you unearthed from the internet. You had to remind yourself that you weren't a hentai protagonist just to snap back into reality to assess the seriousness of the situation.
"Am I being arrested for alleged war crimes?" You asked with a half-hearted joke, hoping to at least ease the ridiculously tense air around you.
"No sweetheart, we're here to discuss something a lot more serious than that." Lisa answered for the other two individuals present in the room. "A little birdie told me you've been getting letters from an anonymous sender containing.. very sensitive info."
Ah, screw them because you don't know who's sending them either.
You cursed under your breath as Diluc tapped his foot impatiently against the tavern floor. It took you a few seconds to form proper words to speak a coherent sentence, you weren't exactly good with being confronted and you knew you couldn't lie because that would bite you back in the butt later. "I don't know who's sending them, but I swear I have nothing against Mondstadt nor do I want to do anything bad to the land or its people."
"Ah, so you're not denying on being the recipient after all. Good." Lisa smiled, obviously pleased with your cooperation. You had the urge to deadpan at her but prevented yourself from doing so, you didn't want to put her in a foul mood- electro particles in the air weren't exactly the most pleasant thing to feel, especially because you were not a vision user.
"Nah, not really. I can't exactly say no since you'd be able to trace those letters back to me anyways." You admitted, absentmindedly scratching your cheek as you averted your gaze from her.
The trio looked at each other, as if passing judgement amidst their silence.
"As harmless as you look and act, we can't pass this up. So you'll be in surveillance under Lisa for a certain period of time until we're truly sure you're not up to something suspicious." Jean stated, chin slightly leaning on the back of her hand as she looked at you with intent. You do get where she is exactly coming from though, a completely understandable thing since you are quite frankly an outsider- it didn't help that you had a string of not so good records in the span of a month either.
You weren't really harmless as proven that you could commit a crime, you'd like to say. But you respected Jean too much to even utter a word in defense of yourself to her.
"You could've just told me I am under arrest, jeez." You cringed, raising your hands up in surrender. Running away was an obviously stupid action, every single one of them could outrun you and they had a vision. You had no special physical abilities that would guarantee your escape- not that you'd even bother to try in the first place.
This wasn't exactly the first time you've been arrested for unintentional crimes- mainly small and harmless ones except for the first which unfortunately was a charge for arson. You weren't from Teyvat so you had little to no idea of how laws exactly work around the area. Given that even the justice system of Mondstadt had been proven to be quite faulty seeing as to what had happened between Diluc and the knights, but then again nothing was perfect.
All things considered, being arrested and under custody as an alleged spy is a better fate than being brought to the Fatui for extortion.
"At least she's compliant." Diluc remarked then he turned his head a little to look at you. "I wouldn't call it an arrest, seeing as you're not going to be held in a dungeon, but rather in someone's strict supervision."
"Says the one who initially busted me in for arson, but you do have a point there Sir." You visibly slumped, Diluc gritted his teeth in displeasure.
Wrong move, you were too casual with him there. You forgot he had issues with how he's addressed, you're convinced he has a master/slave kink.
"Don't call me Sir." He scowled.
"Ah crap, my bad." Worse than being arrested or taken by the Fatui was the sight of one of your favorite characters offended by something you unintentionally mention.
"It's alright." Diluc accepted your genuine but pathetic excuse of an apology despite it being uncouth in social standards; he had told you once that you were ridiculously uncouth for a woman. Of course, you weren't taught the same etiquette as them because of the differences between culture, world, and era.
"Well then if that's settled, let's get out of here cutie. We have so much to see outside." Lisa clasped her hands together before taking a hold of yours, exiting the doors of the private tavern room with Jean in tow.
"Wait-- Acting Grand Master, does the Chief Alchemist know of my arrest?" You asked Jean after a few moments of being on the streets again, you were respectful enough to refer to her by her title.
"We already issued a letter to inform him about it, don't worry." There was a small smile on her face as she reassured you, this was nothing new but you still couldn't help but ask.
The silence that followed between the both of you minus Lisa's occasional idle comments somehow felt awkward. But maybe it was just you, it was very often that you feel apprehended for no reason.
"Have you ever thought of replacing your wardrobe, sweetheart?" Lisa looked at your clothing of choice as the three of you stopped by a clothes stall. Jean had left, stating something about the workload on her table in the headquarters, you felt apologetic that she couldn't even take a break.
"Not really, I honestly just got lucky to get a full set of Diluc's old clothes because he was generous enough to let me have them." You shrugged. "They're comfy and stylish, that's enough for me. Plus I got them for free so no Mora was wasted." You didn't have the heart to tell her you didn't want to waste Mora on expensive and high maintenance clothing of Mondstadt women, you could really care less about fashion because all you wanted to do is save and stack as much money as you can manage while trying to stay alive.
At least before the great inflation in the economy of Teyvat after Morax's "death" happens, you'd already be stacking enough to not worry about anything.
You were having an internal crisis no one would understand too, to boot. So you really didn't have the time or the effort to waste on unnecessary things, Diluc's choice of clothes had been fashionable enough and that was certainly favourable for you.
But really, you just didn't want to openly admit to her that you were quite in fact a cheapskate.
Lisa frowned, you forgot she does not take rejection lightly. "Are you really sure? I am certain there are things that fit you better...than THAT." She gestured to your clothes, she really did want to dress you up however you don't exactly want to bend to her whims.
As much as you loved her, you still value your modesty, money, and your ability to run without ruining something damn expensive.
"Is there really something wrong with what I'm wearing?" You asked the librarian, the exhaustion from the energy spent on the day finally catching up to you.
"Not exactly, there's a charm to it I admit, however..." Lisa paused, shifting into a thoughtful stance. "It's lacking in emphasis for your attractiveness."
You took at least two steps back. "That's it?" You blinked.
"Oh dear, I didn't expect for such a bland reaction to come out of you." Lisa briefly covered her mouth with her hand, her tone of voice reminding you of a wine aunt being disappointed you still don't have a boyfriend.
"I mean-- that's not really in the list of my priorities…" You scratched the back of your neck. "Plus, I don't really want to ruin the cute designs from how often Klee sets my clothes on fire." That was partially true, Klee did in fact accidentally set small parts of your clothes on fire on more than one occasion. Thankfully the design was simple so the damage wasn't obvious unless closely inspected.
"Understandable, I suppose practicality is indeed important to keep our local Spark Knight in check." Lisa glanced at a chunky and decorated green scarf hanging around the corner of the shop. "But, you're currently not in charge of her. So allow me to buy you something as a gift."
"Lisa, you don't have to--" Your hands raised themselves as if to try and prevent her from walking from where she stood.
"I insist, I'm feeling quite generous as of late." The sultry quality of her voice was a little more emphasized in the statement.
You ended up with the scarf wrapped around your neck, allowing your head to look like an adorable blob wrapped in a blanket. She must have noticed you weren't accustomed to the temperature, and since Mondstadt was constantly windy, the chill in the air that you felt had considerably worsened.
You could tell Lisa didn't want to forcibly dress you into something you didn't like out of respect, so she only bought you the scarf instead. You appreciated her thoughtfulness despite the gesture being unexpected from her, there was something always new to learn about them after all. There was a distinction between the selves you face now and the ones that you had seen in-game.
Here, they were a lot more grounded, alive and relatable so to speak. It did take long for you to finally believe everything here was real, that your senses weren't fooling you, that you were truly in this world. Touching, feeling, hearing, smelling, and everything.
Those thoughts still didn't leave you even after you had felt them drift off over and over.
Lisa still held your hand as Mondstadt's hype festival had visibly tamed as the hours turned ungodly, you failed to notice you were in front of her home.
You didn't recall seeing this detail in-game like how you didn't recall seeing Albedo's home either, another obvious surprise once again because you honestly thought Lisa lived inside her library.
She opened the door and promptly dragged you inside. "Make yourself at home, sweetie, you're going to be here for a few days."
Honestly, you didn't know whether you're being held prisoner or placed in the foster system- like Mondstadt had a foster system, to your current knowledge they literally had none. So they were technically letting orphans run around as random people pay for the child support.
The laws in the country were damn wack (so was the security), but it really did live up to the name of being the City of Freedom.
You bet your 50 Mora Venti just wanted to avoid responsibilities that came with the freedom since he's technically as lazy as the wind. Or maybe it was his definition of freedom.
God, that really reminded you of the times you were able to simp for the characters without shame or responsibility for it. You really shouldn't have looked at that $5 pass for the isekai truck and wished in 11:11 as a damned joke then bought groceries from the convenience store.
"Are you alright, cutie? You seem awfully deep in thought." Lisa looked at you with concern, a bowl of salad in her arms.
You honestly forgot she was vegan.
"Yeah, just spaced out for a bit." You casually replied before you sat on a nearby chair beside a bookshelf. Typical, Lisa was a woman of academic and culture despite the apparent laziness she displays for everyone to witness.
But you weren't gonna lie when you said you definitely did not expect the Teyvat version of Make-out Tactics sorted in her shelves.
Another fact learned everyone who has any involvement with literature with the exception of children has at least one single porn in their collection. You weren't an exception either, you've read countless explicit works be it either fiction or fanfiction.
Especially fanfiction and hopefully no one has to know about that here.
The next day, you were stuck with Lisa in the library doing community service at the same time. Your hair was tied so it would be kept out of your face as you arranged the books by alphabetical order, it was proving a little difficult for you because of your partial illiteracy but nothing you couldn't handle.
You really did take a lot of things for granted and you're starting to regret that even further now.
"Leave the lifting to me, you can go ahead and rest now." A familiar voice spoke as your heart almost leaped out of your chest in surprise.
Lo and behold, the maid of the Knights of Favonius, Noelle.
"Thank god, it's only you." You put a hand to where your heart resided, trying to calm the sudden burst of speed it subjected itself to. "Don't worry, I got this section covered." You smiled reassuringly at the hardworking battle maid.
"Are you sure you don't need any assistance?" The look on her face resembled that of a kicked puppy because you refused her help.
"Y-yeah! It's alright really, I got it all figured out." Your smile obviously grew strained as your heart clenched. "Well, you can fetch me a pitcher of cold water. Can you do that for me please?" You didn't really want to hurt her feelings so you asked for that instead.
"Anything else? Snacks?" Her beaming had your heart-melting, she really wasn't the best girl for nothing.
"Just water please." You reaffirmed before she turned and left to get what you asked.
You were half done with your work when Noelle returned which was frankly just a few minutes, you thanked her and quenched your thirst with the refreshingly cold water and offered some to her in which she had politely refused.
She did end up helping you with the rest of your tasks and you being the socially awkward individual you were, most of it had been done in silence.
It was noticeable that Noelle didn't really mind, and after both of you were done she took the liberty of teaching you how to read the more complicated sentences in books since your mild illiteracy didn't escape her sharp and trained eyes.
Your pride to preserve yourself was pretty much non-existent at this point.
"You look like you had fun." Lisa closed the book she was reading, glancing up at you with that lazy but charming smile on her face.
"Yeah, I pretty much did. Noelle was a huge help earlier, and those books were ridiculously heavy that it would have taken me the whole day if I refused her help for the second time." You admitted, chuckling as you waved your arms in the air.
"Good for you, you're awfully lax for someone who's held in supervision with context." She remarked, leaning her temple on her left palm.
"What can I say? I've been convicted with too many crimes to count to even care at this point." You retorted as you plopped down on the floor.
"I'm impressed with the numerous amount of charges you got the first two weeks of living here." Her smile widened as she crossed her legs.
"It's not my fault I didn't know the items I took from that treasure hoarder were contraband and it's definitely not my fault that I didn't know it's illegal to sell wolfhooks at this time of the year either!" You lamented but mindful of your volume. "Wolfhooks, Lisa. I got arrested for selling berries!"
And much to your chagrin, she merely laughed at your comical display of misery.
A week had passed and you were halfway through finishing your sentence for alleged spy charges. Albedo didn't come to visit you and neither did Klee, those two were most likely busy.
And another week came by until you were finally free from Lisa's grasp, you immediately made a beeline back to your shared home with Albedo, already missing the vibes of the house.
You liked Lisa's home, but it didn't bring you the sense of security that you felt in your own home.
Albedo left a note saying he wouldn't be around for some time since he was out on an expedition in Dragonspine, Klee's note was written right under his, saying she wouldn't be around either because she's under Jean's watchful eye.
There were cute little flower decorations at the end of the note in what you assumed to be Klee's doing, you smiled as you folded the note and kept it inside your breast pocket for safekeeping.
You headed to your room and noticed the windows were open, a leyline branch laid there along with a rolled parchment. You immediately grabbed the item and unfurled it, skimming over the words written in elegant strokes of ink.
Then a line caught your eye and you immediately got the gist of who exactly had been sending these things to you.
Your lips pursed as your eyes narrowed, this man owes you 20000 Mora as compensation for getting you into unnecessary trouble.
"Dáinsleif…You son of a bitch."

The Flash [1] [Harrison Wells x Ellie Allen] - Chapter 3
Ellie's Voice Over: "It doesn't matter if you're the slowest kid in gym class or the fastest woman alive. Every one of us is running. Being alive means running... Running from something, running to something or someone. And no matter how fast you are, there's some things you can't outrun. Some things always manage to catch up to you."
Late at night, Barry, Ellie and Iris were coming out of a movie theater...
"Regular movie scale, that was a seven or an eight. Zombie movie scale, it was, like, a four, tops." Barry said.
"There's a zombie movie scale?" Ellie asked.
"Did you know that zombies exist in nature? There's a species of fungi that infects ants, causing the ants to attack plants that can release spores which in turn indect new hosts. I'm going full nerd again, aren't I?" Barry said.
"Yep." Iris said.
"Yeah." Barry said.
"Yeah. It's okay though. You are still the cutest nerd that we know." Ellie said.
"Anyways, I'm a lot more interested in the amazing as of late." Iris said.
"You mean 'cause of this 'streak' thing?" Ellie said.
"She's out there. People are talking about her. It's a woman." Iris said.
"How do you even know it's a girl? Maybe it's guy." Barry said.
"It's a woman, okay? You know I am really intuitive about this kind of stuff. Someone even posted a picture after being yanked from a car accident. It's a red blur leaving the scene. Here, what do you see?" Iris said as she holds up her phone in front of them.
Then Iris' phone vibrates a picture of Eddie comes on screen.
"We see your boyfriend's calling." Barry said.
"Oh, I should probably get this. I'm crashing at his place tonight, and he's supposed to leave a key for me somwhere. [She turns around and starts talking on her phone.] Hey, babe. What's up? Not much, just hanging out with Barry and Ellie. You off yet?" Iris said.
Then Ellie's phone rings...
Barry gets close to Ellie, so he could listen too.
"Hello." Ellie said.
"Code 237 on Waid Boulevard." Cisco said.
"Public indecency?" Ellie said.
Barry mouths, "What?"
Ellie shrugs.
"Wait, I think I meant a 239." Cisco said.
"Dog leash violation?" Ellie said.
"Bad man with a gun in a getaway car. Go." Caitlin said.
Ellie turn to look at Iris.
"You don't have a mat. Do you a planter?" Iris said as she was on the phone with Eddie.
Then quickly Ellie zoom of there, she reached the police chase was happening, she grabbed the bad guy, handcuffes him then put him in the back of the police car... Then made it back to Iris and Barry in front of the movie theater.
"Key's in the mailbox. I'll see you later. Bye. [She hangs up and turns around to Barry and Ellie.] Eddie says hi." Iris said.
"Nice of him." Barry said.
"You guys wanna grab a bite? I'm feeling a little famished." Ellie said.
"After the Mongolian barbecue we had before the movie and the extra large popcorn you had at the movie? How are you not fat?" Iris said.
"I've been jogging and doing cardio." Ellie said.
"Oh, okay." Iris said as she laughs.
Then they pass a restaurant where a group of people were having a private meeting in. Then someone locks the door and breaks the key. Then all of a sudden green gas started moving around on the floor and everyone inside started breathing in the gas, which lead them to start choking on it and they all drop dead on the floor.

The next day at Central City Police Station... Barry and Ellie walk out of the elevator with their cup of coffee and they smiled as they listen to the cops that Ellie helped last night.
"Where'd you cut him off?" He asked.
"So we cut off at eighth. I mean, the perp was in the backseat of the cruiser before he even knew what happened." Paulson said.
"Congratulations, Paulson, on that arrest last night. Hell of a job." Joe said.
"You come by later, Joe. I'll give you a driving lesson, okay?" Paulson said as he chuckles and walks away.
"Wasn't even him last night. It was Ellie." Barry said.
They started walking up the stairs.
"I figured. I just didn't realize you were helping people for the glory." Joe said.
"It's not like I want a museum built in my name. Keeping what I can do a secret from Iris and everyone, it's harder than I thought." Ellie said.
"I know, but it is safer that way. Besides, we got work to do." Joe said.
Minutes later in Barry's lab, Joe put an evidence box on the table.
"The evidence for our mom's case... We've been through this box 1,000 times." Barry said.
"Before, your story about what really happened that night... The lightning storm, the man in the middle of it... I thought that was two kids trying to protect their father from prison. But now that I know it's true, we're gonna go through every scrap of evidence until we find something that helps us." Joe said.
"It took the jury 52 minutes to come back with a verdict of guilty." Barry said.
"They moved too fast, which is why we got to take our time." Joe said.
Eddie walks in and says, "Barry, Ellie, Joe, we got multiple homicides. Do you know the Darbinyan crime family?"
Later at the crime scene at the restaurant, the Darbinyan crime family was dead on the floor and the cops were taking pictures of the scene.
Barry and Ellie were checking out the bodies when Joe walked up to them.
"Barry, Ellie? Ah. Anything?" Joe asked.
"Signs of histotoxic hypoxia. The cells in their bodies were unable to utilize oxygen." Barry said.
"It's consistent with exposure to poison gas." Ellie said.
"What kind of poison?" Joe asked.
"We'll need to take a lung sample, see if we can narrow it down." Barry said.
Eddie walks up to Joe and says, "The only other exit was bolted from the inside. They were trapped... I was thinking someone pumped gas in from the outside, but witnesses say the street empty."
"Unless it had a mind of its own." Barry said.
Joe and Eddie turn to look at him.
Ellie chuckles.
"Eddie, would you mind canvassing again? Somebody had to have seem something suspicious." Joe said.
Eddie nods and walks away.
Joe turns to Barry and Ellie then says, "Okay, explain."
"The boss collapsed by the table. This guy made it 10 feet away. That guy had a chance to move off and fire three shots into the window trying to break the glass." Barry said.
"But they all started in the same spot, which means they should have all been affected by the gas at the same time, but instead, it's as if..." Ellie said.
"They were attacked one by one. My gut feeling, if we're gonna solve this one, we're gonna need... Backup." Joe said.
"Yeah." Ellie said.
Later at S.T.A.R. Labs...
"Fascinating, a meta-human that can manipulate poison gas." Harrison said.
"Is it just poisonous gas, or can he control all aerated substances?" Cisco asked.
"And how is he able to formulate the connection? Is it physiological or psychological?" Caitlin asked.
"This individual can create a mental nexus using gasous substances." Harrison said.
"You mean connect with gases on a molecular level?" Cisco said.
"Yes." Harrison said.
"That is ridiculously cool." Cisco said.
"They get really excited about this stuff." Ellie said.
"The only thing I'm excited about is putting criminals behind bars. Except Iron Heights isn't exactly equipped to handle meta-humans." Joe said.
"Then I guess it's fortunate the ones you've encountered so far are no longer with us." Harrison said.
"Well, unless we're planning on excuting every super criminal we stop, you geniuses are gonna have to come up with someplace else to hold them." Joe said.
"A meta-human prison. Sweet." Cisco said.
"Until we figure a way to remove their powers." Harrison said.
"There is one place here that might hold them." Cisco said.
They turn and looked at Cisco.
"You can't be serious. I mean, we haven't been down there since... It's cordoned off." Caitlin said.
"Cisco is right. It could be modified to act as a makeshift prison." Harrison said.
"What could?" Barry asked.
"The particel accelerator." Harrison said.
Seconds later, Harrison was calling Caitlin's name.
"Caitlin." Harrison said.
Caitlin snaps out of the memory when the particle accelerator exploded.
"Did you hear me? We're going down to the accelerator ring." Harrison said.
"Actually, Harrison, we could use Caitlin's help inentifing the poison gas." Ellie said as she noticed how terrified Caitlin looked.
Harrison nods and says, "Okay."
"If that's okay with you?" Barry asked.
"Let's go." Caitlin said.
Later, Ellie, Barry and Caitlin walk into Central City Police Department...
"Welcome to the CCPD." Ellie said.
"So this is your day jobs." Caitlin said.
"Mm-hmm." Barry said.
A criminal in handcuffs walks passed them and says, "I'm gonna rip out your hearts and eat 'em for lunch."
"Delightful." Caitlin said.
"Lab rat, Princess, I need prints off this gun pronto." A policewoman said as she hands them a bag with a gun inside.
Singh walks up to them and says, "Allen! Princess Allen! Where the hell is the fiber analysis on the Orloff case?"
"Upstairs. It's all finished." Barry said.
"I can just run up and bring it down." Ellie said as she runs towards the stairs.
"With you, that could be three days from now. I'll go with you. [He looks over at Caitlin.] Who are you?" Singh said.
"Captain, this is Dr. Caitlin Snow." Barry said.
"I'm Ellie's personal physician." Caitlin said.
By the time they reached Barry's lab, Ellie was standing in the door way with analysis in her hand and also there were papers flying onto the floor behind her.
"The fiber analysis for the Orloff case, like you asked for, sir." Ellie said.
Singh takes the analysis, looks around the lab and says, "Clean up your lab. It's a mess." He turns and walks away.
Mintues later...
"Can we ask you something that you don't have to answer?" Barry asked.
"My least favorite kind of question. Shoot." Caitlin said.
Barry motions to Ellie to ask her the question.
"Ronnie. What was he like?" Ellie asked.
"You just never talked about him that much." Barry said.
"We met when we were working on the particle accelerator. He was the structural engineer. He liked to joke that he was basically a very high-priced plumber. We were very different. You might have noticed I can be a bit... Guarded. Ronnie knew how to make me laugh. He used to say we were like fire and ice. He wasn't supposed to be there that night. He was just there for me. If he hadn't..." Caitlin said.
Then the printer started whirring as Caitlin pulled a paper out of it.
"This says that there was no residue of gas in the tissue, poisonous or otherwise." Caitlin said.
"It must have evaporated. We'll need to get a fresh sample." Ellie said.
Caitlin looks at the analysis of the gas and says, "Wait, this can't be right. This says that there are two distinct strands of DNA inside the tissue."
"How did someone else's DNA get inside the victim's lungs?" Barry asked.
Seconds later, Ellie, Barry and Caitlin were looking at the DNA that was in the gas.
"There's no DNA match in the database." Ellie said as she was looking at the computer screen.
"I don't understand. Why would a chemical attack leave behind another person's DNA inside the victim?" Caitlin said.
"What if the meta-human we're looking for doesn't control gas?" Barry said.
Ellie thinks about that he said and says, "What if he becomes it?"
The police scanner then goes off...
"All available units, we have a report of a toxic gas attack in the Central City Shopping Mall."
Ellie looks at Barry, then she quickly got her suit.
"Ellie, don't. We don't know enough about what we're facing yet... It's not safe." Caitlin said.
Then in seconds Ellie zoom out of there... She make it into the mall with Cisco's help.
"I patched into the mall's security system. According to witnesses, the gas attack was in the main elevator in the north wing." Cisco said.
"Which one is the north wing?" Ellie asked.
"The one with The BIg Belly Burger." Harrison said.
Cisco gives Harrison a look that said, "What?"
"I eat." Harrison said.
By the time Ellie reached the elevator, there was a crowd and the woman was dead outside the elevator. Then she saw green gas going into the back of a hallway and that's when she saw the gas foem into a creepy bald guy.
"Why did you kill that woman?" Ellie asked angrily.
The creepy bald man was wheezing then he says, "She deserved to die. Now go run away. I still have one more name on my list. Don't make me add you to it."
Then Ellie zooms towards him and tries to punch him but just goes through him. All of a sudden the meta-human turns into greed gas and punches Ellie in the face. He went straight for Ellie and the gas goes inside her.
Ellie gasps as she grabs her throat.
Back at S.T.A.R. Labs...
"Ellie. Ellie... Ellie, can you hear me?" Harrison said.
"Ellie's vitals are weak, but she's alive, Dr. Wells. I'm sure she's fine." Cisco said.
Then all of a sudden Ellie zooms in and stops by Harrison.
Ellie was wheezing and coughing.
"Help... I can't breathe." Ellie said as she was wheezing and coughing.
Harrison pulls Ellie onto his lap and in his arms then yelled, "She needs oxygen. Get the crash cart!"
Cisco takes off to get it.
Harrison wheels Ellie over to the bed.
Ellie was wheezing.
Caitlin runs in with Barry as she sees what was happening and says, "Ellie! What haapened?"
Ellie was wheezing as she says, "Cut me open. The poison's still in me."
"She brought us a sample. Caitlin, we need to do a pulmonary biopsy, extract an active portion of that gas." Harrison said.
Caitlin looks down at Ellie and says, "I can't give you any anesthetic. Your metabolism will burn right though it."
"I heal fast... Just do it." Ellie said.
"Cisco, give me the syringe. This is gonna hurt a lot." Caitlin said.
"It's a small needle. You probably won't even feel it." Cisco said as he holds up the syringe.
"You're definitely going to feel it." Caitlin said as she stabs Ellie with the syringe.
Ellie gasps.
Moments later, Ellie was connected to a monitor that was beeping steadily as she woke up.
Ellie groans as she turns to see Harrison holding her hand while also working on a laptop.
"She lives." Cisco said.
"You'd be dead if your lung cells didn't regenerate so quickly." Caitlin said.
Ellie groans as she puts her hand on her chest and says, "My chest feels like that one time I had a cigarette with Barry in his room."
Caitlin turns and looks at Barry.
"Yeah, teen me and tweenish El lived for danger." Barry said.
"Barry, this isn't funny. Ellie could've..." Caitlin said.
"But I didn't." Ellie said as she tries to assure Caitlin that she was okay.
"Now that we have a sample, we'll get to work analyzing it, figure out the makeup of the poison, maybe get a clue as to his human identity." Harrison said as he was looking at his laptop screen.
"Or at least a way to stop him from turning into a mist. The Mist. Okay, that's his name. End of discussion." Cisco said as he smiles.
Ellie gets off the bed and says, "We have to get to the station."
"You should be resting." Harrison said.
"We have to talk to Joe." Ellie said.
Later at Central City Police Department, Joe was waiting for Barry and Ellie in Barry's lab...
"Joe. I had him. The meta-human. We were wrong. He's not controlling airborne toxins. He can literally transform himself into poison gas." Ellie said.
"That's new. The victim was a judge. We're going though some of her old cases to see if there's a connection." Joe said as he was holding a case file.
"It's too late. I should have been faster." Ellie said.
"Focus on the job. Don't think about that right now." Joe said.
"You don't want to know what I'm thinking about." Ellie said as she walks over to the window.
"Ellie." Barry said.
Ellie sighs and says, "Our dad has spent 14 years in a 6x8-foot cell for a crime he didn't commit. I couldn't save my mom, but I can save him."
"Didn't I promise you both that we would get your father out of prison together?" Joe said.
"We don't need your help, Joe." Barry said.
"I could be in and out of there with him before anyone even sees me." Ellie said.
"Okay. You break him out of there. Then what? He's on the run for the rest of his life. And something tell me he's not as fast as you are." Joe said.
"You don't know what it's like there." Ellie said.
"You think I don't understand what you both are feeling? I have been a cop for almost as long as you both been alive. So you should know, putting on that suit does not make everybody safe. For every person you save, there's gonna be somebody you can't. And the hardest thing you're gonna have to face is not some monster out there with powers. It's gonna be that feeling of uselessness when you can't do anything. Or the guilt that weighs on you when you make a mistake. Some things, Ellie, you can't fight. Some things you just have to live with." Joe said as he turns and walks out of the lab.
Back at S.T.A.R. Labs, Caitlin was sitting alone in a room... Ellie and Barry saw her through a glass window on the other side of the room.
"You should go talk to her." Barry said.
"Yeah, I know." Ellie said.
Barry starts pushing towards the room as he says, "Start with an apology, don't ask why. Just do it."
Ellie nods.
Then Ellie walks over to Caitlin and sits next to her...
"I'm sorry. I... I didn't mean to scare you, leaving like that." Ellie said.
"It's okay. I get it. You had to go. It's just... That's the last thing that Ronnie said to me that night." Caitlin said.
"My mother died 14 years ago. I used to think that the further away I got from it, the less it would hurt. But some days, the pain, it's worst than the day that it happened. Some things you can't fight." Ellie said.
"For so long, I've been terrified of going into that hole." Caitlin said.
Barry had been listening just in case, he walks in and says, "What if we went with you?"
Minutes later they all walk into the door leading the accelerator.
"He saved so many lives that day, and no one will ever know what he did." Caitlin said.
"We do." Barry said.
"He was a hero." Ellie said.
"I didn't want him to be a hero... I wanted him to be my husband." Caitlin said.
Barry gave Caitlin a hug to comfort her and Ellie gave her one as well.
"Barry, Ellie, Caitlin, you down there? You got to come look at this." Cisco said.
Then they go back to the lab to see Cisco standing in front of a computer screen.
"Hey, check this out. It's a 3D molecular model of the gas we retrieved from Ellie's lungs." Cisco said.
"Hydrogen cyanide?" Barry said.
"What's interesting is what's mixed in with the cyanide... A sedative." Harrison said.
"Of course... The night of the explosion, find out if anyone was executed." Ellie said.
Caitlin walks over to another computer.
"Why?" Harrison asked.
"That sedative is given to criminals on death row before they go to the gas chamber and breathe in hydrogen cyanide." Ellie said.
"That's right." Harrison said.
"There was someone executed. Kyle Nimbus." Caitlin said as she puts his picture on the screen for everyone to see.
"That's him." Ellie said.
"He was a hit man for the Darbinyan crime family. They turned on him and testified. Judge Theresa Howard was the judge at his trial. She sentenced him to death." Caitlin said.
"He must have been affected by the explosion while he was being gassed." Harrison said.
"Records indicate the execution was completed." Cisco said.
"That's why there wasn't a match. The DNA datebase only has records of the living." Barry said.
"Right." Harrison said.
"He said there was one more person on his list. Check the the arrest record. Who caught him? That could be his next attack." Ellie said.
"Barry, Ellie, the lead detective..." Caitlin said as she had a worried look on her face.
They looked on the computer screen and the lead detective on Nimbus' case was... Joe West.
Then at Iron Hights, Joe had come to see Barry and Ellie's father, Henry...
"Here to see Henry Allen." Joe said.
"Sign here. Personal effects here." The guard said.
Joe started taking out his things out of his pocket and putting it into the basket, when outside the prison, Nimbus was walking towards the gate of the prison.
Back at the precinct, Eddie was at his desk when his phone rings.
"Eddie." Ellie said.
"Ellie, what's up?" Eddie said.
"Hey, do you know where Joe went? He's not picking up his cell." Ellie said.
"Uh, not sure." Eddie said.
"Eddie, it's really important I speak to him. I need to know where he went." Ellie said.
"He went to Iron Heights to see your dad." Eddie said.
Then Ellie hungs up the phone and has a worried look on her face.
"Ellie. I reverse-engineered an antidote to the toxin. I hope you won't need it." Caitlin said.
Ellie turns to look at her suit then back at Caitlin and nod.
Back at Iron Heights, the door buzzes and clanks as Henry walks into the room and sees Joe sitting down on the other side of the glass window of the visiting room.
"What are you doing here? Is Barry all right? Is Ellie all right?" Henry asked.
"They're fine." Joe said.
"Then to what do I owe this visit?" Henry asked.
"I know I should have come to see you sooner." Joe said.
"You just weren't up for a little chitchat with a man who murdered his wife in front of his own kids?" Henry said.
"Except now I know you didn't kill your wife." Joe said.
Back at S.T.A.R. Labs...
"Ellie, I pulled up the specs on Iron Heights Prison. It's maximum security, but I think I can talk you through breaking in there." Cisco said.
"Don't bother. I've been figuring out how to break into that place since I was 5." Ellie said.
Back at Iron Heights...
"Some new evidence has come to light. I can't go into detail. It's just... Look, the important thing is, I'm reopening the case. I'm gonna find out who really killed Nora, and I promise you, Henry, I'm going to get you out of here. [He breathing shakily.] I am so sorry." Joe said as his eyes were watery.
"It doesn't matter that you didn't believe in me... Because you always believed in my kids." Henry said as his eyes are watery also.
Then all of a sudden green gas appears behind Joe and the guard that was standing behind him was coughing and wheezing as he choked on the gas. Joe stands up as he watches Nimbus take his human form.
"Nimbus. You're supposed to be dead." Joe said.
"Same to you." Nimbus said.
Then Nimbus turns back into gas and starts choking Joe with it from the inside.
Joe drops to the floor as he starts wheezing and choking.
"Joe? Joe! Help! Guards! Somebody help!" Henry yelled as he bangs on the glass.
Nimbus escapes through the air vents as Ellie arrive... Joe look like he was having a seizure until Ellie held him down so she could inject him with the antidote that Caitlin gave her. Then she turn to see Henry and she make her face blurry by moving fast, so he wouldn't know it was her, and then Ellie looked down at Joe.
"Go get him." Joe said.
Then she zoom out of there and found Nimbus walking in the middle of the street and he was wheezing.
"So you've come to finish what the gas chamber couldn't?" Nimbus said.
"You're going somewhere you can't hurt anyone ever again." Ellie said.
"Wrong." Nimbus said as he turns back into gas.
With Caitlin, Harrison, Barry and Cisco... They were with Ellie every step of the way.
"She used the antidote on Joe. [She talks into Ellie's ear piece.] You need to stay away from him. Do not breathe him in." Caitlin said.
Then Ellie stated running away from Nimbus, so she wouldn't breath in the gas.
"I'm not sure how that help me, guys." Ellie said.
Then Nimbus goes back to his normal form... Ellie try to run and punch him, but she just go through him.
"You can't fight him, El... Just keep him coming at you. That should sap his strength." Barry said.
"Gas is the least stable form of matter. This meta-human will not be able to stay in his mist form for long. His particles will need to reform." Harrison said.
Then Nimbus comes at Ellie fast and she kept running back and forth until he started slowing down. But just came at her again and she jumped out of the way.
Nimbus turn back to his normal self and was wheezing bery heavily.
Then Ellie shoves Nimbus hard that send him flying to the other side of the road, Nimbus was so exhausted that he passed out.
"Ellie... Ellie... Ellie." Harrison said.
"We win." Ellie said.
Later at the hospital, Joe was sitting up on his bed as his monitor was beeping steadily... Ellie was asleep in a chair.
"It's been a while since I watched you sleep." Joe said as he chuckles.
"Rescuing you is exhausting." Ellie said.
Joe was chuckling as he says, "I really miss the ability to be able to ground you."
"Sorry I went and grew up. [She got up from her chair and walked over to Joe.] I could have got my dad out of Iron Heights tonight." Ellie said.
"I know." Joe said.
"But you were right. That's not the way." Ellie said.
Barry walks in with a cup of coffee and says, "Hey... Yoh guys are up."
"Yes... Please tell me that's for me." Joe said as he points to the coffee.
"Sorry Joe... It's for Ellie... She needs it more." Barry said as he hands Ellie the coffee.
"Thanks." Ellie said as she smiles at him.
Iris runs into the room, hugs Joe as she says, "Daddy."
Eddie was right behind Iris, they had walked in together.
"Oh. Baby, I'm fine. Don't worry." Joe said.
"We'll let you guys talk." Barry said.
Then Ellie and Barry walk out of the hospital room.
Later with Ellie and Barry at Iron Heights... They went to see their dad.
"Joe's gonna be okay. You know, lately I've been thinking about mom. A lot. [He sighs.] I miss her." Barry said.
"Me too." Ellie said.
"Did I ever tell you both about the time you learned to walk?" Henry said.
Ellie chuckles then says, "A couple time."
"Everyone was walking before you. All the little babies running around the neighborhood, not you. But your mom was never worried. She just said, "they'll walk they has someplace to go." and sure enough, the first time you took a few steps, you moved so quick, you didn't walk, you started..." Henry said.
"To run." Ellie and Barry said with tears in their eyes.
"And Barry, you ran to your mom. Ellie, you ran to Barry and your mom. Right into their arms. You had someplace to go." Henry said.
Ellie wiped her tears away and smiles.
Ellie's Voice Over: "I thought being the fastest woman alive would make my life easier... That I could outrun anything... Turns out, no one can outrun pain."
Ellie saved a woman from being mugged.
Ellie's Voice Over: "Life is tragic. But it's also precious... And sweet..."
Barry, Caitlin and Cisco were getting ice cream and Iris was writing about the streak.
Ellie's Voice Over: "And exrtaordinary. And the only way I know to honor my mom's life is to keep running."

There for me up up to the north of the city where we are in Detroit and it is a large contingent it is about 350 trillion and it is huge that is a very large Force they have armament and tanks and everything and it extends all the way up into Canada and all the way over to they're very straight across to Russia and they come across there if I driving so giant Force it's getting bigger soon it'll be 500 trillion those numbers are gigantic by the way trillion people would fill out the State of Florida almost no but it would fill up a quarter of it I'm standing up shoulder to shoulder and it's really because the bunkers are emptying it's a huge Force by the way armements and everything. The wrestling with missiles lots of them are 5 mi long and they're huge giants with them some of them 20 miles high those are giant Giants okay this is a force assembled for this purpose and other forces are joining up with them now it is a huge huge Force and the saying things now, religious your weaponry unhand our weapons do not steal our weaponry bring back leave taken you have to be arrested fall down to your knees and stuff like that and we just finishing up a load and it's going off now and it's about all of it it was a lot 500 million missiles most of them are 5 mi or bigger it's going to make a huge hole so stay there making this demands and see fidgeting you're fishing with something it's your gun. It looks like you're looking at it you are and making sure it's intact and charged and ready for use and you say this and it's in dark speech "this gun you want me to relinquish this gun" Galactus. They respond back "yes that gun I want you to relinquish that gun" mac's the level of gun at them and you say "in what format do you want me to relinquish it" Galactus and You Begin discharging massive bursts of energy directly at them completely ignoring what they said and mocking them for saying it I simply disintegrated them. Huge screams and yells come from the race and giant explosions is blowing up half the city where they are they bunch of jerks who drove into it and the rest of the line is being hit it's huge line of military personnel all gone. Giant streams of smoke all the way to the heavens it is interesting huge scene and they're making a big deal out of it tons of spaceships are starting to show up and I have to try to escape because oh there's a whole bunch of firepower gathering in space and it's available enough that they have to move at least they're trying to leave and they're blocking them so they're blasting their way out we are and we can see a hole and resuming through it and we're flying actually and it's a big group and we're leaving in Mass and they're following and it's a huge group of ships and BG is in it, it's not heading it up but they're they're seeking the weapon and they're chasing and actually they're going nuts because the kids seem to figure out how to take legs down no they're firing on Galactus and us heavy too tons of flames coming out of their ships
It's a huge scene above the city their massive screams as they chase them in their ships are visible and tons of people screaming get the hell out of here with that and lots of them know what's going on and say shut up the chasing the Giants out and they go oh good
So now the Giants are on the run and they're moving pretty good 3000 miles an hour and lots of in space. I can't seem to outrun the ships and some of the replacing the weapons in ice and put mine in and yours is going to Greenland several fled to Antarctica and divided their force it didn't do it.
And this is no joke because we're forced to do this and they have us on radar to keep jamming and the thing and turn it up to see us because we're cloaked. The reason for the aggression and for the use of absolute forces because they plan to attack them in West and it's their entire plan.
We proceed and we put weapons in different places hoth...even no not yet.
A massive number of people are fighting over the blasters it's a huge battle at sea giant ships are being pulled off of the East Coast the 300s are out almost all of them and they're going up there
