Random thoughts on my second viewing of episode 2 :
The « you wear fine things well » replay : Taika hasn’t the same expression, when I tell you this is a different take, I’ll bet my script supervisor ass on it. If they did that, it’s for underlining the fact that they weren’t seeing the same thing in the relationship…
Stede, my sweet angel… maybe don’t tell everyone you meet (even your lovely towel collegues Maggie, Jane and Tiff) about your heart trouble with fucking Blackbeard.
The way he’s saying « they draw him to look like a ghoul » is so sooooo gay. Like disgusted sassy sista level.
Fuck you that’s how I am may or may not become a motto of mine.
Actually this whole scene, Lucius is in a fucking telenovela. The stop in the doorframe, talking across your shoulder without turning and the little disappointed head nod at the end. « oh, yeah. Now you care ? » (it just missed an hairflip) He came to ham and I’m here for it.
Sea witch again. I mean we actually saw him talking with birds last season so why the surprise.
Ed behind Frenchie in every room like a fucking dead child jumpscare in leather.
He’s actually terrifying all calm and smiling. You can sense that he can turn at every second. Like a MF snake (you know the ones, fuck yuuuuu)
Sir when you approach me like that, all analytical and stuff, I don’t think there’s anything I won’t let you do to me (imagine Ed turning this on Stede in the bedroom pffffiouuu)

I really have trouble with « he’s our dick ».. you are aware that this is the man who had absolutely no problem stranding your love on an island ? Who pushed for it, even ? That in the memory you evoke, he’s the only one not sitting with you all, all alone in the background sulking ? I guess if you consider him like the nasty old dog who bites everyone and barks all the time, I can see it…
You have hope, it’s cute . Archie is actually really interesting because she represents the classic pirate (like Ed’s crew before being Stedefied), being put amongst the crew of what she thinks is probably the rockstar of captains but they do things all weird and emotional (between bloodbaths). You can see that she’s tempted but also don’t hesitate to throw the first punch in the battle to the death because that’s how stuff goes.
Take the fucking leg (« …bitch » very much implied)
The little ships were all over the place. They kinda treat Olu like a himbo this season which if my memories serve me right was the opposite of what he was last season. (He’s still emotionally intelligent but the logical sense seems to have gone. In this scene anyway)
Every time a new character says China, I cannot take out of my mind that they are mocking Trump. (Roach’s one in particular was spot on)
Awwww Olu’s all bashful and shit, I’m sure he’s moving his shoe on the ground, like a little shy child.
Stede, All happy about the soup : So wild it’s insane ! Lucius, eyes rolling to the back of his head : Jesus Christ, Stede, keep your pants on. * gets up and go drag on his cigaret like an old nihilist prostitute. * Ahahaha! Lucius is so done with Stede, I can’t ! He reminds me of me with my mom when I was a teenager. (I was horrible)

I had a dream about you last night and with that phrase, all Blackhands shippers burst into flames. To then die a horrible death for the next minutes and being turned to dust at … best I could. (Also, If I had told you about « good for you » « it was good for me » I don’t think this is how you would have envision it)
But seriously the acting in this scene was INSANE. (I mean more than good, I mean stellar)his laugh is haunting me.
Wait… wait.. is he doing the romcom trope of being horrible to him so that he would leave, to protect him ? but instead he tortures him until he has no choice but to kill him ? Ed, darling, you basic trope girl.

Easy Company Preference: going on a Road Trip
Background: Easy Company is going on a road trip across America in a small bus, so put up your seat belt because it is going to be a wild ride.
Also, I wanna thank @oddbunny for giving me this idea <3
– Carwood Lipton - Lip is being the mother as always. He was the one who mainly organized everything and made sure everyone was okay. He helped Speirs with directions because he is the only one who can read the map. Finds serenity in camping. Tries to get a discount in every store. Gets stressed if the trip doens't go as he planned. As always, he is giving the food to the boys.
“15, 16, 17… Someone is missing! Speirs, someone is mis- forget it, I found Perconte.”
– Ronald Speirs - He is the most quiet during the trip since he is the driver. When Lip or Winters are sleeping, he and Nixon take the bad cop role and keep the boys quiet. Drinks to much coffee. Doens't trust or speak with anyone outside the bus. He will reach Lip with his arm and stay with his hand open for him to give him snacks while he keeps an eye on the road.
"George, shut the fuck up, or I swear I'll pull over and leave you by the road."
– Dick Winters - This man is just trying to take a break and enjoy the trip but he still gets stressed because of the rest of the guys. He is just worried that something might happen. He is sitting behind the driver's seat by the window with Nix by his side. Wants to stop the bus in every meadow. Winters likes to keep the window open to smell the fresh hair and look through the window to see the view.
– Lewis Nixon - He’s just happy to get out of the routine but slightly dying inside because he misses the city. He is Malarkey’s and Muck’s prank victim because he sleeps most of the time. At some point he awoke with his mouth full of chips and with a drawing of a penis in his forehead. Winters didn’t say a word. He feeds every dog along the road. Oh, and of course he always has a mini bottle of alcohol with him.
“I have to keep myself hydrated.”
– Joe Liebgott - He is that mf who wants to take shortcuts to get to his destination faster. Every time they step in a gas station he buys a comic book. He asks stupid questions about where they are to Webster, and then get’s mad if he doesn’t have an answer. He is too proud to ask people for directions. When Lip falls asleep he and Luz fight over the map.
“You are supposed to follow the red line, that’s the road.”
“No shit, but there's a million of those.” Luz replied.
– Bill Guarnere - He can’t stand in the same place for too long. Bill is that person who is always walking back and forward in the bus. He goes to make random small talk with Speirs and then gets back to his seat. They find him telling histories to strangers every 5 minutes. Him and Toye buy a lot of food.
“Guys, why don’t we go to Vegas?”
– George Luz - He is the radio. As always he is the one who keeps the guys in a good mood and never lets boredom get over them. He stays in the back of the bus playing cards with some of the guys. My boy makes friends everywhere they go and talks with every weird stranger. Unlike Lieb, he is the one who asks people for directions after they get lost because Lieb insists on making a shortcut.
– Joe Toye - He protects the guys. I feel like he would get a little paranoid of anyone getting killed or mugged by a weirdo. He always calls Bill to look through the window when he sees something cool. He loves hiking and bonfires. Shhh, he fell asleep on Bill's shoulder, and Bill got pissed off because he couldn't move anymore. Also, he stops Bill from throwing hands with racist middle aged white men in the gas station.
– Donald Malarkey - He insists on stopping for every activity and is the official snack provider. He takes pictures of everything and is the most polite with strangers. Him and Muck are the pranksters of course. Every time he sees a pretty girl in the street he imagines his whole life with her for a second and then moves on with his life. He buys presents for everyone and for his family from the souvenir shop.
“I know we are all on the trip, but the presents It’s to remember that we were all here together.”
– Warren “Skip” Muck - He buys the weirdest things from every souvenir shop and by the end of the trip he has a shirt and a hat from every state. He takes pictures with everyone, principally with weirdos. Skip is the best at coming up with games to play on the bus. He counts every red car that he sees, and he has this singing game where he starts the lyrics and another guy has to complete it. Luz rocks that game.
“Let’s do it again next year.”
– Darrel “Shifty” Powers - He is so excited, because he loves nature so much. He is that person who wants to stop the bus every time he sees a pretty place. When they stop in towns the old ladies like him so much. He is the best at camping. Malark had a breakdown because of a bee in the bus, so he stopped Bill from killing her and saved the bee. He wants to keep every foster animal he finds along the road but Winters refuses.
“But sir, I will be responsible, I promise.”
"It's not that I don't trust you, is because we already have Luz and Muck." Winters replied.
– David Webster - He is the Tour Guide. Teaches everyone random facts from every place they are. When they stop in towns, instead of going to the bathroom he looks for a bookstore. He acts like he is the mysterious main character in a foreighn country. He writes and reads when he is on the bus and then gets sick.
“Dear Diary, my trip hasn’t gone exactly as planned, and that’s ok but I’m going to jump out of the window because of Lieb.”
Babe Heffron - My poor boy always gets sick on the bus. He is always with a bag in his hands just in case. He is that person who is always asking: “Are we there yet?” I feel like he forgot almost everything: Pajamas, toothpaste, underwear… etc. But he didn’t forget his neck pillow. He wants to eat a lot but Gene doesn't let him because he will get more sick.
“Luz, can you change the music? I don’t like that one.”
– Eugene Roe - He was the one who brought the camera. He always has his First Aid Kit with him, and a lot of bags in case someone gets sick.
“Heffron, just lay down and stop eating too much and you won’t be sick.”
Secretly buys candies in the store. He will pick plants and flowers to make herbal remedies. This man has an existential crisis out of nowhere when encountered with a pretty view. Winters asks him to look over the guys in case they get too drunk.
“Sir, I’m a medic not their mother.”
– Frank Perconte - He has the smallest bladder. It’s always too hot or too cold for him on the bus, jeez. When there’s no bathroom he hates to pee on the bushes. Gets lost very easily. Luz doesn't let him sleep for nothing in this world, poor man. He has so much toothpaste that he shares with everyone. When he wants something he still uses the card: “I got a wounded ass.”
– Bull Randleman - It's him and Martin who look over the guys when Lip, Winters, Nixon and Speirs can’t. He is the one who remembers the boys to go to the bathroom before getting on the bus again. His shorts make him look like a tourist, I swear. He sees a stranger needing help with the car? Dad Mode: ON
After losing Perconte: "Oh boy, here we go again."
– Floyd Talbert - This mf got mugged by a roadside whore. He deserved it, he is always flirting with everyone. This man takes too many pictures and spends too much time in the bathroom. He questions Speirs driving abilities. I feel like he knows how to play guitar and would play some songs by the bonfire.
– Johnny Martin - He keeps everyone alive with tough love, and still has time to relax. I can see him with sunglasses giving orders to the younger boys, for sure. John doesn’t let the guys buy fast food, he will simply give them those 1 dollar sandwiches from the gas station. He almost threw hands with Web because he almost threw up on him.
"Who needs to piss right now? We are not stopping again.”
“Muck, do you wanna die? Then put on your seat belt back on."

uhh kenikari dev fun facts because why not
Under spoilers bc this thing is long with tons of images and text, but it doesn’t spoil any future game events dont worry
this was the first ever sprite I did for the game! I ended up discarding it bc it was more like a joke to see how the style would work and all. I hadn’t settled on a color for the tongue yet and I already had half of what would become the hair shading style
Originally I wanted to made the sprites more simplistic so to speak by adding next to no shading, because I wanted to draw them in far more different poses n stuff. In the end i realised that you would literally be looking at these for 90% of the game so they should probably be nicer and have actual shading
I made an alteration lol
Here’s the first ever shaded sprite, with Chuyo. The shaded hair had settled in, though I would end up giving him a different symbol thingie. I still followed the rule of somewhat minimal shading, but as my style developed I put it more details in the sahding and cloth folds. A fun fact about him is that I made him and the sprite and I put a name to the sprite and then i put it in my pc folders
And then I couldn’t find this sprite but it was okay bc his wheelchair design had changed and my style had too so I redid him completely. and gave him a nose lol. and then when it was time to present him in the game i DEADASS FORGOT I GAVE HIM A NAME. SO I MADE ANOTHER ONE.
his og name was Misuke and that’s the name of this file lol
A forgotten sprite for Lare’s presentation that i didnt end up using bc it kinda looked like an ahegao. if we push that aside you can compare it to the sprites that do appear in the game and see how I altered them later down the line to give her slightly more complex and accurate shading to the game’s current style. I’d say the biggest difference is the whole collar thingie. Originally the dress and shirt were meant to end like. the same way. but then i dont know how i came up with it but i started making the dress more square-y and it differentiated itself more from the shirt, so i changed the sprites to reflect that specifically
a lil drawing I made in 2019 with a laptop trackpad of Mako. I made another one before that and it was the first ever drawing of her, but I can’t find it so I can’t put it here
Originally Mako was meant to have more bruises and bandages but i ended up simplifying it so it could be easier to animate her and draw her from afar. She was the most complex design I’d made back then and I still kinda think she is, topped with other characters like Mero (he doesnt appear in the game its a sepparate mf)
the og Lare sprites that i made before i figured out how RPGmaker XP worked. she hasnt changed much, just removed the background and moved them around so that the walking cycle worked properly
in one of the incredibly early builds of the game that I only showed to my parents to test, I made some quick sprites of myself to announce that the demo had come to an end. These were rushed as hell and have a lot of imperfections and color spills, and I only made like 4. They have been removed from the files bc i wouldn’t use them again
the ending screen actually started as a quick doodle in my notebook. I liked it so much that I took a picture of it and digitalised it, and then I decided to use it in the actual game. I would show the original drawing, since i do actually have it, but it’s spoilers. idk maybe ill show it when the part it spoils comes out
This actually got me thinking that it wouldnt be fair if only alex were the one to say goodbye, since he’s not even the damn protag, so I’ve started to form ideas of end screens with the rest of the cast. Maybe the full chapter will have a different end screen, maybe it won’t. It depends if I do actually feel like doing it mid development bc i got bored with other stuff

Okay so i realised im a fucking idiot and that i’ve been sending you shit through “?” And i have no idea where those messages go through so whoopdy doo ig but in my defence i wasnt able to send anything any other way bc.. uhh.. yeah my email wasn’t confirmed n all that. Im telling u man i’m a whole ass boomer rn🤦♀️ can’t even remember how to send an ask smh.
Anyways i only now finished reading svs because i’ve been putting it off in favour of reading different fics (works from other fandoms and… ooc soukoku fics. Listen i hate mischaracterisation as much as the next guy but i find them very entertaining okay) and AAAUURGGHH WHAT A BANGER. The way you write is immaculate if svs was a food it’d have a savoury taste like i’d be liking my fingers n shit. I found out about it when you posted on twitter you updated it (it was the smut chapter, by the way) and i was like “huh” and decided to read it and my god am i glad I didn’t skip over that tweet.
Idk if this was on purpose or not but verlaine is kinda cringefail in your fic and i love it. I am a firm believer that as badass as verlaine is he is undeniably embarrassing and i need MORE of that.
My one criticism for svs is that we needed more adam scenes. He should have been added like really, unnecessarily early on in the fic and act as a third wheel in the fic. But like a third wheel soukoku did not want or ask for but he’s just kinda there they can’t really get rid of him. Chuuya and dazai in their divorce arc arguing and adam is in the background thinking “i could crack a really funny joke from this” (on that note i added the lines “Adam’s blabbering makes more sense now, so they act as if nothing has happened. “When I lift this veil, you will seal the deal with a kiss.” He can’t stop himself from laughing, “I hope you enjoyed that joke too.” “We didn’t,” Verlaine says from across the shrine. “Paul be quiet.”” In my “collection of fanfic lines I chuckled at” in my notes. He’s so silly i love him. I love how he laughs at his own jokes he just like me fr.)
Anyways here are like two extra svs doodles. I keep thinking about how you said that chuu can fluctuate between genders (literally) and its so… zamn.
And reading the scene where verlaine is brushing chuuya’s hair inspired me to draw this
I have no idea how long chuuya’s hair is supposed to be like idk if it’s “yeah his hair is a little longer than it is in canon haha” or “yeah mf got some LONG ass hair looking like rapunzel”. Also I don’t remember if his lil ribbon was red or blue but.. i jus went with blue and i didn’t know if the pearls were supposed to be like on his head or woven into his braid so i just went with the latter. And again ALSO i know he was barefoot but i’m not drawing his fucking dogs okay.

THE ADAM LINES WERE SO FUN TOO CAUSE HE'S NOT CRINGE HE'S JUST....HIM.
Verlaine is cringe-fail on purpose tho and I'm glad you saw that because I see him as an incredibly pathetic person who can't do normal human things. He would like bite open a metal can or rip it open with his hands because he doesn't know what a can opener is. He is that type of guy.
The art is just immaculate bro like straight-up BEAUTIFUL. Chuuya's literal genderfluidity is something I'm glad people like cause when I imagine divinity I think of someone not bound by sex or gender and whatnot plus I just don't think he'd give a fart. so like....world's most wonderful tits...but he's shorter.

First - ok, do the Ljosalfar also exist in the world of this story? (then again, are the Ljosalfar even a distinction from the Dokkalfar that existed pre-Christian influence? I dunno, the mythology is fairly incomplete as it stands, and none of this has anythign to do with the story so why am I spending so much time on this anyway?) Second, why does getting hit on the head give Jo the Second Sight? Or did she always have the capacity for it, and the hit just catalyzed it? REGARDLESS, as none of that has anythign to do with the actual control part of the story, moving on. It's a good story. Very fantasy, but I grew up LOVING mythology, so even though I'm a little rusty on it, seeing something drawing on myth is lovely. And the idea of control that most folk dont' notice, and that even though she *does* notice it Jo can't resist? It works within the context of the story. The actual control we see is fairly pedestrian by EMCSA standards, but the worldbuilding done around it means I like this story much more than I might have otherwise. 8/10 spirals

Huh, from the title I was expecting this to be a Girls(tm) story, not a superhero story, and not such a tragic one at that. Oh, it has its moments of heat, during the transformation that takes place, but the end of it is just tragic. To be forced to continue loving someone who's dead, unable to truly mourn, No matter how much heat is in the rest of the story, I can't find it hot on the whole with that layer of tragedy underlying it. it's a GOOD story, just ... another one that isn't really erotica to me. 5/10 spirals

... There is no IRB in the country that would approve this story, so this isn't just self-funded, but there can't be any meaningful oversight either. Also, her work needs more footnotes. Also, she clearly needs to review what we've learned from the Stanford Prison experiment; any time a researcher directly involves themselves in the experiment, as she did, it skews objectivity, and makes it less generalizable. We also ought to be presented with the method of recruitment; the nature of the recruitment can bias who is likely to apply. Further, any experiment of this sort should have included a boiler plate "you may revoke consent at any time" clause. Which clearly X was not provided.
Putting the design/framing of the story aside, this is ... well, clearly it bothers me a little bit, given my science background, in the ways that it betrays the doctor's intentions with it. Which makes sense in context, but I get distracted considering how I'd improve the experiment. And it's a solid experiment for the goal of "how can I make girls want to have sex with me," rather than "how can I test response to authority?" - they *are* two different questions. The external view of the shifting mindset is less to my taste, and X's clear distress makes this less hot than it would be otherwise. 5/10 spirals

The Cuphead Show brainrot really be making a mf take screenshots of the brothers’ room and overlook at details like how Cuphead has a little pirate flag on the wall, considering he’s a little rascal who loves adventure i can see him liking pirates.
Mugman also seems to have paper sheets/pictures?? taped to the walls, they’re blank on the only 2 scenes where i could see them so i can’t get much out of these.
There’s books, paper and a pencil under Cuphead’s bed as well, which makes me wonder if he and Mugman were homeschooled by Elder Kettle or if they have went to school, who knows. (Although there is a bag on their room as well.)
These don’t seem to help support the bed so these were most likely thrown there after being used or something.
The fact that they seem to have a bunk bed inside a closet is also interesting to me, this is probaby something common but it’s not something i’ve seen often tbh.

I feel like the sharmen thing is one of those situations where writers make a dumb decision for the sake of shock value and instead of just correcting their mistake they double down on it because they're overly defensive
I’m just trying to understand why the gen q writers are fine with straight women playing lesbians on a show that’s centered around the lives and experiences of lesbians but they draw the line at Sarah reprising her role as a Latina? Like we, as the audience, are expected to be okay with JB playing a lesbian despite being straight and it’s fine because we all recognize how iconic the character was and how beloved she is by the fandom but we can’t do the same with Carmen/Sarah? Idk it feels hypocritical in a way. Sue me
At some point the writers and showrunner have to recognize what Carmen and her story meant to fans. I understand their concerns regarding Carmen’s race and ofc it’s a valid concern but like Sarah said on the Pants podcast, it feels like they’re dishonoring the fans of the original who really found solace in that character. Carmen was never depicted in a stereotypical way and her coming out storyline was a very important one that many people related to. She wasn’t just some background character; she was important to people ya know. I also feel like fans of the relationship deserve to get some sort of closure after all these years (although I much prefer a sharmen endgame pewiod). on scripting: mind blocks (pt. 1)

anyways
here’s some of the things i do whenever i hit a wall during scripting; i can’t guarantee they’ll work for everyone out there but i do hope someone can make use of these methods
turn on a spotify playlist on discord
personally, i work better if there’s some kind of background noise—no matter if it’s for scripting, schoolwork, or household chores
having something to listen to helps me not just pass time but also let my imagination run free; and listening to a shifting playlist in particular gets me in the mood
i do it when i sleep, when i eat, when i wash dishes, and when i script; as long as it’s there to remind me of my DR, I’m able to engage my mind more fully into what i want
and yes i play music on discord bc ya girl’s a broke ass mf so i can’t get spotify premium, and discord doesn’t play the ads so there’s that
write excerpts of events you’ve scripted
scripting is a lot like writing, and on that thought—write anything you want! from deaths to parties, cults and temples dedicated to you—it’s your story. your reality. reading an excerpt on what happens in there cements that fact
it doesn’t have to be limited to blurbs or whatever as well; you can create poems, essays, and even journal entries for your DR
my friend gave me a planner for christmas and i made use of that by noting down mundane things that happen in my DR, and it helps especially if you really want to record every single thing that happens [if you are going to follow that line action, i suggest you use a time ratio of 1 DR day = 30 CR mins, for better memory retention]
act out scenes you thought of
this one here is easily the most awkward of them all, considering it sounds like acting out wattpad scenes, but it can be very effective if you thought about it
it’s immersive, and can give you a better grasp on how you or others would act/think in your DR; it gives you a hold on personalities and relationships
draw/sketch
conceptualising is a great way for manifesting, and what better way than to draw?
or, if you’re not too inclined to sketching out places or character designs into much detail (like me), you can always turn to already existing character makers!

Episode 12 - The Little Mermaid
Let’s Talk About JSHK Anime #3
Warning: Manga spoilers for The Little Mermaid arc, The Clock Keeper arc, and chapter 64!!! (just a bit, skip point no. 5, 6, and 10 if you don’t want to get spoiled) Also … this ended up way longer than I intended.
Well that was one heck of a feels trip. It’s probably my new favorite episode, just because everyone is here being wholesome lmao.
This is mostly hananene meta I ain’t even gonna lie.
Before we begin, shout out to Black Canyon, our newest anime cutie pie. Just look at him, folks. Just chilling with his sunflower seed.
He has no idea the kind of life his owner leads.
I said before that the best part of episode 12 is how it made Daydream worse, so now I’m gonna ramble about it.
“Maybe different species can’t understand each other after all.”
“Maybe it would be better if I were an apparition too.”
This is my favorite part of the episode. And no, not in the sense that I want Nene to die just so that she and Hanako can be together. But because of how Lerche actually explored deeper what was said only once in the manga.
Well, both in the manga and anime Nene ended up accepting the mermaid’s blood because of her desire to be popular, but the anime decided to revisit what she said earlier in the episode.
Not only did that make her decision kinda less selfish, it’s also just … sad. Thinking that your friend, someone you really cared about, doesn’t trust you enough to tell you things about themselves, to the point where you’re willing to go to such lengths as turning into an apparition just to understand them.
And if you think about it, isn’t this part of her true wish? To have her feelings be reciprocated? Man I just realized that as I wrote this and I am mindblown.
She thought she finally got her wish with Hanako. I mean, he said it himself in the first ep (”You wanted someone, anyone, to return your feelings, right? And as far as you’re concerned, sharing a bond with someone is the same thing, right?”). So it must’ve hit her really hard when she thought he didn’t trust her. Especially with all the wrong ideas the fishes were feeding her mind.
Then we got this little flashback. At first I was like, “Girl, you really be thinking that he doesn’t care about you while recalling the moment he apologized to you and hugged you? Are you insane?”
But after some thinking of my own, it occurred to me. Maybe she was too used to having her feelings not reciprocated, she couldn’t believe it when someone finally did. Not to mention Hanako did kinda trick her with his fake confession a while back (heh, he’s not the only one with trust issues, eh?). And that just made the entire thing even sadder.
So when Nene said, “But I thought, if I were an apparition like you, I could get closer to you. Then, maybe I’d be able to understand you, Hanako-kun. Although I know I probably don’t mean anything to you.”
That was a harsh wake up call for Hanako.
(Btw even more full circle, Hanako brought up Nene’s wish to become human again in the first episode. Nice.)
So. We got one daikon girl who’s afraid of not having her feelings reciprocated, and one ghost boy who’s afraid that daikon girl wouldn’t be his friend anymore if she knew about his past.
While in actuality, said daikon girl already decided she wanted to and would be his friend no matter what, and ghost boy had grown to care about her more than he thought he would.
He heard what she said to Tsuchigomori. He knew all about regret, too. I mean, honestly, I think if she had said no, he’d let her walk away right then and there, no questions asked. But she didn’t.
Nene’s wish finally came true here. And the best part? It wasn’t the work of magic or curses. Just Hanako finally shoving his fear aside, offering himself as he was, and letting her decide.
And she still chose to be with him.
Heh. Lemme just. Sob for a bit.
Is my hananene trash brain reading too much into this? Idk. Maybe.
So props to the production team for managing to add even more weight to this arc. Which, they had to, since it’s the season finale and all. But I love what they did!
Onto my commentaries!
1. The KouNene
Good shit. She was worried about him but he didn’t want her to worry so he just smiled it off? These two are precious. Thought they were gonna interact. Sadly not. Buuuut! (see point 12)
2. Hanako’s classroom visit
He. Is. So. Adorable. Someone please take his babey license away he’s too dangerous.
Hanako’s classroom visit is like my absolute favorite clingy Hanako moment, so I’m really happy I get to see it this season. Ugh. My kokoro. Hugging her from behind, that semi confession vibe … Smooth mf.
The Mokke brushing Nene’s hair!!! The radish hairdo tho lmao.
On a sidenote, as a history nerd I appreciate that they’re actually putting lessons in the background. And the teacher talked about Apollo 11 again??? While my boy was in the room? That ish both hurt and pleased me.
3. The Clock Keeper rumor drop
Heeeeeehhhhh? What’s thiiiiiissss?
4. This freaking thing
*flips table* Darn production team been knew I’m hananene trash how dare they do this to me.
And lookie here there’s Kodama chilling.
5. Fishies! (!!!manga spoiler for The Little Mermaid arc!!!)
Pufferfish didn’t die. Well, good for him. Also I can’t believe they just call the other fish ‘yeah yeah’ lmao what the freak. Has it always been like that in the manga?
6. AOI AND AKANE (!!!spoilers for chapter 64!!!)
I swear I did not intend this numbering coincidence.
*claps* Boi. Nene asking Aoi about cutting ties with someone she’s interested in? And then Akane just swooped in and say he’d rather cut his head off than cut ties with Aoi? What about getting impaled, huh, boy? Would that do?
The not-so-subtle call out to these two pairs’ parallel? BOI.
7. Nene and Yako
These two just chilling together having girl talk, and Yako let Nene pet her? That’s some adorable shit right there. Admit it Yako you like her.
Yako also be really hitting home with what she said. It was extra heavy coming from her, considering what happened to her and Misaki. Boiiiiii.
8. Tsuchigomori
Oh my God, his laughter. Just … oh my God.
Tsuchigomori in dad mode is always one of the highlights of the episode/chapter.
By the way, in this scene according to the sub, Nene asked Tsuchigomori who Tsukasa is. But she knew who he is already. Is it possible that the sub misinterpreted it? ‘Cause I think what she actually meant was, “What happened to him and Tsukasa-kun in the past?”
If someone who speaks Japanese could share their wisdom, please do!
9. The 5 pm bell and twilight
Look how pretty they are!!!
Lo and behold, another important hananene interaction while the 5 pm bell plays in the background. Also, twilight? Y’all giving me Kimi no Na wa flashbacks.
“Twilight, when it’s neither day or night. When the world blurs and one might encounter something not human.”
Huh … kinda fits the ‘boundary’ concept but it still hurt.
Anyway they still had Hanako tell her what she already knew. And I did say in my ‘Walking Blind’ post that it’d be redundant. But since the episode kinda emphasized Nene’s desire to understand Hanako, having him actually tell her himself, even though she already knew it, was a big deal. It’s not about what she knows, it’s about him opening up to her. So I’m super cool with it.
10. The Broadcasting Club (!!!spoilers for The Clock Keeper arc!!!)
I love how Natsuhiko and Sakura are actually decent people. When he told Mitsuba that he was free to choose to stay with them or not? That’s solid, man. Though, of course, Tsukasa might not be as kind.
Speaking of, I know it couldn’t be anything else, but I’m still not sure if Tsukasa’s drawing was confirmation for season 2. Don’t wanna get my hopes up. Imma just enjoy what I currently have.
Kinda curious, though. Because Clock Keeper wasn’t Tsukasa’s doing. Maybe he was the one who released Mirai? But tbh I’d prefer if it wasn’t so. Because having more cases of supernaturals going loco without it being one of Tsukasa’s games is interesting, and kinda underlines the need of The Seven Wonders to keep supernaturals in check.

Ngl this was the biggest surprise of the episode. Teru finding out that summer vegetables = Nene? Broooooo. Interesting. I don’t think this little addition warrants any changes to their future interaction, so it should be safe. Clever replacement, too, those veggies.
It’s so sweet that Nene delivered those veggies to Kou! Just imagine the Minamoto family having veggies for dinner. Awww.
(Also, Nene wrote her name in hiragana instead of kanji. Is that a reference to how bad Kou is with kanji? Lol, so sweet)
