so I watched the trailer an ungodly amount of times right? And so if you didn’t know when Hunter says “We’re not big on following orders.” the shot is cropped. Very cropped. But if you focus on the left corner:

That gun that’s basically over Hunter’s face here? That’s a rifle. And a pretty familiar one at that. And when you look a little closer that rifle is being held by someone in black armour.

Now, what character do we know that had black armour and a distinct rifle, that was basically his entire personality?

THE OWL HOUSE IS MAKING A RETURN AND THAT MEANS I HAVE A TEASER TO ANALYSE!!

Starting with the first thing I noticed is the trees, yes the trees. We can assume that based on them that we’re leaving summer now and entering that September-October territory, perfect for the spooky season!

The next glaringly obvious thing to me was this little guy in the background, meaning good old monster Philip is going to be terrorising earth, as expected. I’m sure that with this being realised in October The Owl House is possibly going to lean more into its horror aspects, which is a possibility I’m excited for.

And based on the poster, it seems it’ll be leaning more into the mystery aspect as well as we see the gang investigating a graveyard.

Unfortunately no names are visible here, however, unlike Ghost who is in staff form, Flapjack is perched on one of the graves.

Willow also appears to be looking directly at him as he looks to the side (Gus also appears to be looking off to the side but based on the vibes of the poster and how everyone is looking around, it appears to be due to wariness and being watched). It’s safe to assume the gang are potentially investigating the Wittebane brothers.

Something I also love is that, while all the characters have new looks that I absolutely adore (GUS IN A BEANIE!!) Hunter has new hair?? This honestly could be symbolising him finding his own identity away from Philip and away from Caleb, but despite this he’s still positioned closest to Philip in the poster, and looking up fearfully… poor kid.

We do also have to respect the fact Luz keeps the eyebrow scar, representative of that loss of innocence, and she’s certainly a far cry from the carefree kid she was. In this poster she seems as wary as everyone else, and almost cold? She’s clearly on edge and looking behind her with distrust. I cant blame her with Philip’s eyes watching them all in the background like that.

And while I don’t have as much to analyse here, I love all their new looks AND SLAY CAMILA. SLAY. GET PHILIP’S ASS.

(Also Amity’s hair was pointed out to me confirming there has been a one to two month timeskip so we ARE possibly in October territory now.)

Overall, I’m SUPER excited for the three specials, and as unfortunate as it is we won’t be getting a full season, I’m curious to see what the crew has in store and how their creativity has shined!! The series looks to be getting even darker so it’s possible that because of the circumstances, they may have been able to get away with a lot more too.

" what the HELL was that?" ryan continued hastily walking away from the house now littered with trash on the lawn, needing to be anywhere else. she couldn’t go home, she knew her father would have a field day seeing her costume and her bloodshot eyes. that was because of the coke, which now ryan regretted even doing. in her attempt to escape from reality, she somehow BLACKED OUT and woke up to the screams of the other now chasing after her. “that was some fucking sick joke, right? you saw her breathing ... didn’t you?” ryan couldn’t be here. she couldn’t be found near some girl that appeared dead. not with the fear of a third strike looming over her. and even if the first two had been bullshit charges that her dad put against her (for fighting back against his drunken alter ego who liked to pretend ryan was her dead mother), she couldn’t RISK getting in trouble again. that’s what sheriff taylor had warned her the last time.

her phone beeped, hearing the other’s trailing behind her go off at the same time. this fucking town and their mass messaging. she looked down, her feet finally stopping in their tracks at what saw read. how long had they been walking? how had the pigs gotten to the house so fast? her voice shook, finally looking back at them with concern. “she’s dead? the morning after we all get those fucking texts?” ryan moved closer, falling into their chest with fear. no one ever saw her like this. not when she had a reputation to protect, not with some masked freak running around town ...killing people. “you don’t think - it wasn’t me, right? oh fuck. they aren’t going to think it was me? i don’t ... no one else was still there when i called you.”
