While you are digging into batfam lore, could you perhaps help explain what the batkids' legal names all are? Fanfiction has messed me all up. Did any of them actually legally take Wayne as their last name? I see it most often with Tim (i.e. Timothy Drake-Wayne) and Cass (i.e. Cassandra Wayne) but I haven't read any comics that I recall that actually called them that.
Sure! A quick rundown of who's actually part of the Wayne family:
Wayne family: Dick, Jason, Tim, and Cass were all legally adopted at one point or another in the post-Crisis universe (post-reboot is....complicated. Dick, Jason, and Tim are all once again adopted after a long series of retcons; Cass's status is still unknown). Damian is Bruce's biological son.
NOT Wayne family: Barbara Gordon, Stephanie Brown, Helena Bertinelli, any members of the Fox family (Luke, Tam, Tiffany, Jace, etc), Harper Row, etc.
Duke is a complicated case; he was Bruce's temporary foster son for a year before moving in with his cousin Jay, who now has custody of him. He's...sort of considered Wayne family, in that at least Jason and Tim consider him to be sort of their brother, but he wasn't adopted and no longer lives with Bruce.
Other: Kate and Bette Kane, who are Bruce's cousins and part of the Kane family.
As for legal last names and who actually calls themselves Waynes:
Damian's legal last name is Wayne. The al Ghuls tend to call him "Damian al Ghul" when he's with them, but legally his last name is Wayne; it's also the name Damian goes by UNLESS he's specifically attempting to leverage the al Ghul name amongst his family or the League of Assassins.
Dick continues to go by and think of himself as "Richard John Grayson" even after being adopted, though he explicitly calls himself Bruce's adopted son in several arcs after his adoption happens. You can take your pick of reasons why this might be (and there's quite a few to choose from, mostly connected to Dick's love for his bio parents and already being an established adult when Bruce adopted him), but Grayson was and remains his legal last name.
Jason canonically remained "Jason Peter Todd" after his adoption, per his death certificate:
Tumblr media
Jason's death certificate, naming him as "Jason Peter Todd." -Batman Annual #25 (2006)
He was also "Jason Todd" to the general public; it's what people call him when they talk about him both before and after his death. The Red Hood and the Outlaws Rebirth comic (specifically RHATO #33) confirms that this is the case in the post-Flashpoint universe as well. However, there's a pretty reasonable canon foundation to assume that had Jason's adoption not happened in the 80s and had writers not wanted to complicate things, he probably would have chosen to hyphenate and become Jason Todd-Wayne, based largely on a) Jason's relationship with Willis Todd and b) Bruce and Jason's relationship before his death.
We simply don't know what Cass did. Cass was adopted off-panel in the vague period in between Batman RIP and Final Crisis, but Bruce's death threw everything up into the air; Cass was then promptly put on a bus and shipped out to Hong Kong for the duration of the Reborn era, and since she shows up in a grand total of 8 comics during that time we just don't get enough information to make a judgement call about her last name. Her two appearances in Tim's Red Robin book still call her Cassandra Cain, but it's unclear whether Fabian Nicieza, the writer, even knew her adoption had happened:
Tumblr media
"Cassandra Cain, former Batgirl, remains one of the most dangerous fighters on the planet..." /// "Cassandra Cain, aka The Black Bat, Hong Kong operative for Batman, Inc." -Red Robin #17 & #25
Since Cass never had much of a public identity to speak of in the first place (and for a long time didn't even want one), it's super ambiguous what her legal status is and what last name she holds post-adoption. It's pretty reasonable to assume she becomes Cassandra Wayne, though, and it's also my personal preference. Though her relationship with David Cain is complicated, she doesn't hold much attachment to him as a father; likewise, there's really no reason for her not to take on the Wayne name given her attachment to Bruce.
Tim is the complicated one here, mostly because his adoption was such A Production™. Tim was formally adopted about a year in-universe after the events of Identity Crisis (when Tim’s dad was killed by Captain Boomerang). The adoption was pretty high-profile; Tim and Bruce even sat for an interview about it:
Tumblr media
From 2007-2011, he's called Tim Drake and Tim Wayne (and occasionally Tim Drake-Wayne) pretty interchangably depending on the writer and situation. His legal name is probably Tim Drake-Wayne, though it's actually ambiguous. He tends to go by Tim Wayne in public while usually referring to himself as Tim Drake in private:
Tumblr media
"And by the way, it's Wayne when I want a favor or a table at Bartese, and it's Drake when I look in the mirror." -Red Robin #15
Tumblr media
"A question for Mr. Wayne--" /// "Reporting live from the reopening of the Newton Community Gym where Tim Wayne is about to address the crowd." -Red Robin #14 and 15
Post-Flashpoint, that adoption was erased and Bruce and Tim’s relationship was very strained; in the Rebirth era, his adoption was implied to be canon again in both Tynion’s Detective Comics run and King's Batman run, but we didn’t get confirmation until Infinite Frontier and Urban Legends, where Tim is once again explicitly adopted and occasionally called Tim Wayne, though he still mostly goes by and is referred to as Tim Drake:
Tumblr media
"But just to be clear--we're not splitting the bill, Tim Wayne." -Urban Legends #4
Tumblr media
"...and then Mr. Wayne just adopted you? Awful generous of him." -Urban Legends #4
Tim is also the only one regularly referred to in public as "Bruce's adopted son." Most of the time they're referred to as "Bruce Wayne's wards," so whether the adoptions are public knowledge or not is questionable, but their status as his wards and foster kids is not. Though they largely never lived in the Manor at the same time, they've all attended various public functions as Bruce's kids and acted on Bruce's behalf in various capacities while in the public eye.
tl;dr Tim is canonically the only one who takes the last name "Wayne" upon being adopted; he generally continues to refer to himself as Tim Drake, but canon calls him "Tim Drake," "Tim Drake-Wayne," and "Tim Wayne" pretty interchangably afterwards. Dick doesn't change his name and canonically Jason didn't either, though you could make a case that he might have hyphenated had his adoption been written in the modern era. We don't see Cass enough after her adoption to know either way; however, her existing canon relationships with Bruce and her biological family heavily support and/or imply that she probably became Cassandra Wayne.

Jungkook
W.D.Y.W.F.M (Teaser)
Tumblr media
Jungkook could've adopted anybody else, really. He's gotten to know a lot of hybrids left and right during his time at the carecenter and foster homes- low maintenance ones, friendly ones, ones that are easy to be around. So why would he want you?
Tags/Warnings: Idol!Jungkook, Hybrid!Reader, Fox Hybrid!Reader, mentions of trauma, Reader isn't cute & cuddly in this at all, manhandling (not the spicy kind), sort of brat-tamer Jungkook but not in the kinky way if that makes sense? More TBA
A/N: so many were upset I'm not writing any more hybrid jk stories so yum yum the appetizer is served hope you're hungry
⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅
"She refused to eat dinner after you left." The careworker tells him as he puts his bag down, and Jungkook lowers his brows in confusion.
"Why?" He wonders, unsure. You're not very attached to him, rarely interact openly with anybody let alone him- and he's realized it might simply be because you don't like him and his rather bubbly personality that much.
"I think it might be self-punishment for what happened yesterday." She sighs, pointing to the large bandaid covering his biceps- your scratch no longer hurting at all, the cover just on it for hygiene's sake. "She feels guilty."
"But it wasn't her fault?" He asks, not sure why you'd take the blame for things so far out of your control. "I knew what I'd potentially get myself into when I offered to bring her back inside- and she didn'tget me that bad anyways." He shrugs, and the worker nods.
"Well, she certainly doesn't see it that way." She says, giving Jungkook his name tag and vest so he can start his last week, cameras at this point no longer really filming much since they've got plenty of content to work with. "You did great, honestly- handled her really well, but she might feel embarrassed now that youve witnessed her outbursts on yourself rather than just from afar." She explains, and he sighs to himself. He instantly searches for you amongst the hybrids, greeting almost everyone fleetingly as his eyes scan the environment.
He spots you sitting in a corner, observing rather than joining in- just like you always do.
"Hey-" he carefully squats down a respectful distance away from you, casually patting his bandaid once he spots you staring at it. "-all by yourself again?" He wonders, and you just shrug.
You dont answer him, crossing your arms instead.
"Heard you skipped dinner yesterday." He asks casually, sitting down now to engage in conversation. He knows that you get antsy when confronted like this- but you have to learn somehow. Everyone just wrapping you in cotton won't help you long term.
"Wasn't hungry." You mumble, avoiding eye contact. Why does he have to talk to you? This is stupid.
"Lie." He chuckles. "You were talking about how much you liked chicken to me yesterday." He calls you out, and you just pull your knees closer to yourself, tail wrapping around them as well. "You didn't hurt me much at all, you know?" He offers softly after some time of just observing you.
"...still." You argue quietly, shaking your head. "Yumi is looking-"
"But I'm talking to you right now." Jungkook disagrees amused, keeping his attention on you. "You're not a bad person." He tells you, and you grow angry suddenly. Not at him- but at yourself, because why are you such a crybaby that you're crying about a simple sentence like that? He probably doesn't even mean it, he just says it for his stupid media-stunt he's pulling. "You wanna go eat breakfast with me?" He wonders, and you shake your head. "Too bad." He chuckles, reaching out his hand to touch your wrist, simply tapping his fingers against it. "Come on, up up, I'm hungry." He says, getting up-
But you don't follow.
"I don't want to." You deny, and he sighs, leaving you be. It's fine like this- you don't need him to play some sort of Savior for you, not at all. He can show off his kindness to his fan base or whatever, you don't really care at all. He's living his life, while you'll live yours- no matter how bland it might be.
A bowl is placed at your feet, another plate with a lot of food placed down as well. "Didn't know what you wanted so-" he explains, before sitting down again in front of you. "-I just got whatever I myself eat." He shrugs casually, starting to grab the first bite.
"Your microphone isn't on." You comment, pointing to the front of his shirt where it would typically sit.
"I know." He simply answers nonchalantly, continuing to eat. You start to lift your hand to bite at your fingers, and he reaches out without fear to gently pull your wrist away from your face, before pointing to the food. "Eat. Or do you want something else?" He wonders, but you shake your head.
You are hungry.
"...'m sorry." You tell him with a crack in your voice, and he nods at you with a smile.
"I know." He answers truthfully, reaching out to tap one of your droopy ears. "But you don't have to be." He shrugs, unknowingly surprising a careworker watching from the sidelines. You're pretty jumpy with contact- you hate fast movements, loud noises, sudden things you're not prepared for. He himself notices as well- the way you flinch on instinct as he reaches out to you.
But you don't immediately try and defend yourself against him, and that's new.
Jungkook has, up until this point, simply never given you any reason to fear him. He's not very careful, very fidgety, and a little loud whenever he gets excited- but he's also gentle, and doesn't hold any bad intentions.
Though that doesn't mean that you trust him- at least not yet.

oh wow wow wow thank you so so much!! i'm really glad that you're enjoying my story so much! it really means a lot to me. <33 i think your english is good! but if you need/want me to clarify anything i say here, just let me know and i'll try to rephrase it for you!
okay, so in the Gotham tv show (this has spoilers for all 5 seasons, so read on if you're okay with that) the way that they approached writing the joker was actually really up in the air in the beginning. this is because they didn't have the rights to use the name "joker," and so fox (the company that made the show) planned on making a bunch of smaller characters in the show as a kind of easter egg as people who could be the joker or who resemble him in some way.
this changed when cameron monaghan (the actor for both jerome and jeremiah) guest starred in s1e16 "the blind fortune teller." in it, the character of jerome is introduced as a 17/18 year old boy who travels with the circus with his mother, who is a snake dancer. he is meant to be one of the aforementioned joker-like characters in the show and wasn't actually supposed to be included again after that episode, if i am not mistaken.
however, the viewers LOVED his performance and jerome came back in season two as a member of the maniax, a group of arkham inmates who were broken out of the asylum. i won't go too into detail about the actual plot, but in seasons two, three, and four, jerome shows up in at least a few different episodes with very memorable storylines each time.
it isn't until season four of the show that jeremiah is even revealed at all! jeremiah and jerome are identical twin brothers, however, jeremiah has been in hiding for years under the fake name "xander wilde" in an attempt to escape jerome, who wants to get revenge on him for lying to their mother about what he (jerome) did when they were children. basically, jeremiah lied to their mother (lila, who jerome is revealed to have killed in 1x16) that jerome tried to kill him, causing jeremiah to be sent away and be adopted by rich people and get to go to a well-funded private school where he could live out his best life as a child prodigy (which was jeremiah's end goal to this), whereas jerome was left behind in the circus that they lived at (haly's circus, the same one that dick grayson later was raised in before being adopted by bruce). during this time, jerome was horrifically abused by his mother, his uncle, and his mother's many romantic partners. this eventually caused him to crack, which creates the character we see in the show.
here's an easy way to remember the difference in their personalities:
Tumblr media
in the standard american deck of cards, there are two jokers: one that is black and white and one that is in color. in this analogy, jeremiah is the black and white joker and jerome is the one in color.
this is jerome:
Tumblr media
he's got a *very* boisterous personality. he's outgoing and charismatic and, of course, severely messed up in the head. he *enjoys* the pain he causes people and does it with little to no reservations. he thinks things through less thoroughly than jeremiah but jerome always has a plan and is actually quite smart. i couldn't do him the disservice of calling him the dumb twin, despite some points about jeremiah that i'll get back to later.
anyway, jerome has a grand plan for all of gotham: he believes that, fundamentally, everyone in the world is like him and is also at least a bit crazy inside. he wants everyone to tap into their inner selves and let themselves run free / go crazy. he successfully ensnares huge hoards of gothamites with his persuasive way of speaking and interesting flare to his words. he amasses a large cult following, all of whom are very similar to him in the sense that they all demonstrate similar signs of instability.
here's some more gifs of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
jerome kind of invented the iconic "HAHAHA" signature joker laugh in the gotham universe, even though he isn't the one who goes on to become "mr. j" (gotham's version of the joker) in the end (that's jeremiah, though i have a lot to say about that).
jerome's always smiling, a genuinely creepy smile that throws people off at first but can be really scary once you know what you're looking at. he single handedly turns gotham into a madhouse on multiple occasions and is the one who basically spread the "crazy" to the general population (for short: genpop).
he's a classic cult leader in the sense that he can mesmerize a whole room with his magnetic presence but also will ruthlessly cut down any of his followers if they so much as upset him (or even if they're just being annoying or could have a greater purpose, like when he stabbed a follower in the gut to take their blood to draw a frowney-face on bruce).
Tumblr media
that reminds me, another important thing to know about jerome is that he has an iconic stapled-on face! this is because he died once (in season two, though he came back to life for season three onwards) and one of his followers tried to revive him using some insider medical knowledge from doctor hugo strange (who is just... a whole thing. ew.). he thinks that he failed at doing this and steals jerome's face so that he can wear it on television in an attempt to control jerome's followers (spoiler: this doesn't work).
however, it turns out that jerome *was* revived from this, and he's pretty upset that some dude stole his face! so he uses a staple gun to re-attach it after he gets it back (and kills the guy who did it). his face is later punched off by jim gordon but reattached more properly during his time at arkham afterward (the carnival scene happened in season 3 and jerome came back with a kind-of healed face in season 4).
here's some gifs with jerome's messed up face!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
jerome is the colorful joker because he's very much expressive. he lets out every single emotion he feels---unless he's trying to deceive someone, at which point he is a phenomenal liar. (in season 1 when we are first introduced to him, he almost successfully gets away with the murder of his own mother.)
jerome is funny and laughs a lot and is *loud.* he's also absolutely insane and incredibly cruel, as well as impulsive, but he's able to curb his instincts if he feels like he can pull off a big plan.
jerome is a showman by nature. he's a product of the circus and it *shows.* everything he does is like an act, something that is acknowledged by many people in the show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
he's a funky lil dude. totally crazy, but kind of adorable at times.
he's also SEVERELY traumatized from his horrible past and has huge trust issues.
so, yeah. jerome is colors! remember that.
unfortunately, pookie died in season 4 and doesn't seem to have been revived this time </3
Tumblr media
now, onto his twin brother jeremiah!
Tumblr media
jeremiah is, at least at first, presented to be the complete opposite of jerome. he's calm, collected, and seemingly sane---at least at first. bruce trusts him at first and he even befriends him for a period of time before jeremiah betrays him.
jeremiah is a genius engineer, and, when looking into his past, we can assume that he was a child prodigy. he worked with thomas wayne before he died and designed the wayne plaza building under the aforementioned alias "xander wilde." he also locked himself in an underground maze for ~6 years (i believe?) and never went outside, instead sending his proxy (ecco) out to act in his place during business transactions.
as seen here, jeremiah seems to be the complete opposite of showboat jerome:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
when we first meet jeremiah, we are told that he is totally sane, but we can later see that this is not the complete truth.
i'll use jeremiah's project as a metaphor for this. jeremiah was building a set of generators which could make energy harvesting and usage much less expensive and much more bio-friendly (if i remember correctly). bruce promised to fund his project and jeremiah accepts his offer quickly.
after jerome dies in season 4 after kidnapping bruce and jeremiah, he left behind a concoction of chemicals that seemingly make jeremiah go insane. this is a play on joker toxin / joker venom from the greater dc universe.
however, after jeremiah reveals his new self
Tumblr media
he says that the spray did not actually change who he actually is, but just gave him an altered appearance. there are a lot of fan theories about this, but the general consensus is that the spray likely lowered his inhibitions, which gave him the kick needed to reveal his true self.
even his complexion resembles the joker he corresponds with: black and white. he is the black and white joker because he isn't as expressive, is way more calculated, and is more cruel and less happy. even his skin is paper white.
here's some gifs of what he looks like after those "slight cosmetic changes" :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
that looks a lot more like the joker we know and love today, right? bleach-pale skin, red painted lips, green hair. he's instantly recognizable as the stereotypical joker now.
remember when i mentioned the generators? let's go back to them. the entire time that the generators have been around, they've also been perfectly functional as powerful bombs. their ability to be used as bombs does not undermine the fact that they can also be used as generators, and both of these things were true at the same time *for the entire time they have existed.*
it is in this way that jeremiah's paradoxical nature has always existed. jeremiah is crafty, cunning, and absolutely vicious. he has no care or concern for human life in general and will sacrifice most people in his life if it means that he will get what he wants in the end.
this is shown both before and after the joker toxin in how he lied about jerome when they were children (which caused jerome to be heavily abused) and in how jeremiah willingly killed one of his most devoted and beloved followers, who was being ransomed, just because someone put him on hold and it was personally easier for him to just kill him than sit on hold on the phone for a while. (he also has a vicious streak, though, because he immediately moved the demolition of the bombs up to immediately once he was out of the blast zone because those people inconvenienced him.)
something that's important to realize about jeremiah is that he has an issue with being called crazy. jerome does, too, but he eventually comes to accept the term, almost like he's reclaiming it, but jeremiah is *violently* against it. that's one of the things that set him off in the previously mentioned interaction.
both jeremiah and jerome are obsessed with bruce, though in different ways. jeremiah sees bruce first as his best friend and later as the "brother [he] could never have, that jerome could never be." jerome just sees bruce as a particularly entertaining and interesting kid who he enjoyed tormenting who he would eventually kill.
anyway, despite jeremiah being crazy (or, depending on who you ask, just less inhibited) he is still crazy smart and calculating. he thinks through everything before he does it and his master plans seem like they go on forever with 10000 parts to them and backups and contingencies galore.
the only time that jeremiah ever really seems to break out of this is when he's fighting with bruce. while he still does have a greater point to make or something he's trying to accomplish, he thinks through things less with him and shows his impulsive and rash side a bit more, which is interesting because jerome showed his thoughtful and contemplative side when faced with the obstacle that is bruce thomas wayne. i love parallels and contrasts, especially in these two characters! i just love writing about twins, they're always so interesting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
some important things about their relationship to one another:
even though jerome kidnapped jeremiah and seemingly strapped a bomb to his neck (after breaking into his house and telling him that he would kill him), jerome doesn't seem to actually want jeremiah to die. instead, as we later find out, he wants jeremiah to unleash his true self and carry on his legacy of chaos and cruelty in gotham for him after his death. this is why he left behind the laughing gas for him.
(the fact that jerome thought to do all of that shows that he really was a smart character and that he truly did understand the world around him well. he knew exactly what would happen in the event of his death, i.e. bruce offering to fund jeremiah's work and jeremiah accepting, as is shown when jerome has the joker venom in a present box which claims to be sent from wayne enterprises.)
jeremiah *hates* to be compared to jerome in any way, as he thinks of himself as "the face of true sanity." he actually has an entire notebook full of jerome's ideas, which he says he will outdo and perfect, thus defeating his brother in the end, which i don't know if i agree with, but whatever.
i think that it's because of the reputation that jerome got at the circus. jeremiah wanted people to think of him as better than jerome and as the perfect child, which he succeeded at. to him, jerome is synonymous with crazy, which i've already mentioned that he hates to be called.
okay, just one more part to talk about. the infamous, much anticipated Mr. J!!!
Tumblr media
in the series finale, it is revealed that jeremiah, after falling into a vat of acid, is horribly disfigured and pretends to be in a vegetative state for the whole ten years that bruce is on his quest to improve himself before becoming batman. he does this as a way of waiting for bruce to come back to gotham so he can continue to be obsessed with him.
Tumblr media
however, though this is jeremiah, it seems that he has actually gone through immense mental trauma sometime during this time (perhaps during his fall into a vat of chemicals), which has caused him to sort of lose his sense of self. he once says that there was "another me" [another him] once, which is, of course, referring to jerome. this implies that jeremiah sees jerome as an extension of himself, almost, and almost makes it seem as if mr. j is a whole different entity of his own.
hopefully this clears everything up a bit for you!! let me know if you have any questions or want to know anything specific about the characters and i will be glad to oblige!
thank you once again for being so kind as to leave this ask!! it really made my day. thank you for enjoying my fic, i hope it continues to live up to expectations. i have a lot of fun things planned (and i am very happy that you decided to look into these characters more, because they are actually extremely important to the plot as we get more into the actual story!). <33

MORTAL KOMBAT 1 Thoughts Pt2.
[❌❌contains SPOILERS❌❌]
Continuation from yesterday
Chapter 6
They keep switching between Bromance and Romance for Kenshi and Johnny. Which one is it now???
I adore Johnny being protective of Kenshi, and Kenshi holding onto him while walking.
The way reptile switched from human to lizard, makes it look like he is not actually shape shifting, merely casting an Illusion to seem human.
Nitara is hot and all, love the design, but....who thought it was a great idea to have Megan Fox voice her? No shade but the voice acting is pretty awful.
Kenshi trying to run in with Sento but is pushed back in a comedical way by Ermac SENT ME. I felt so bad but I couldn't stop laughing.
Sento activating in this fight was pretty cool, I will not lie.
Not Jerrod shouting out for Sindel😭😭
Chapter 7
I wonder why Liu Kang didn't get fully rid of Krusty Kronika. Just because he is playing god now doesn't mean she's any harmless. But also wasn't Kronika fully destroyed?
Lesbians
Johnny and Kung Lao trying to knock out Quan Chi in the middle of the street while dressed up in those carneval suits was a sight for sore eyes.
NOT THE SIDE KICK PREDICTIONS WITH REPTILE AND KENSHI LITERALLY FLYING IN PLSSS
This entire chapter is full of comedic bits, and I'm here for it. We need more stuff like this.
Chapter 8
I like the implication that some things are inevitable, no matter how you think you shaped things differently.
I enjoy Geras and Liu Kang s friendship a lot.
So Liu didn't intend for Kronika to be alive in this timeline after all.
"Father" Is smoke now Bi-Han and Kuais brother??Was he adopted adopted??
Aight but am I the only one who thinks Smoke looks like Elon Musk? Like, for real,, it's freaking me out.
I know Smoke is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal but I keep hearing Troy Baker.
That manipulative parallel from when Shang Tsung was a Merchant still was very clever
Chapter 9
Okay crazy theory, but what if Kronika isn't Kronika, but Alt Shang Tsung in disguise???
Why am I not surprised by the betrayal. Still having hopes that Bi-Han is just bluffing to save Kuai.
Kuai being out for blood is really entertaining. That melting sword scene was so damn cool too.
Scorpion being affected and literally burned by heat somehow doesn't make sense to me. Especially with Subzero seemingly not being harmed by frost and ice. Also Havik recovered from that melt off really fcking fast. Bowing down to you, king.
Bi-Han literally showing up from behind the cold wind was such an amazing entrance. I was even jumpscared a little.
5bucks that new course is the Shirai Ryu
Chapter 10
If the second timeline the ending to aftermath where Shang Tsung won?? If so, that is the coolest decision NRS has ever made so far.
Li Mei is so pretty. I adore her so much.
Have y'all noticed how weird the run animation in this game is. It's so awkward and looks half-assed.
Mileena is such a good fighter but I hate how much she is being babied. I know it's because of Tarkat, but it's kinda silly.
Lesbians
I am very amazed with the character design improvement in this game. I thought MK11 was already damn pretty, but MK1 really put the icing on top. There are so many fine details in the environment and outfits, I am eating this up like desert.
Will hopefully finish the rest of the game tomorrow though! Last and Final thoughts coming in soon!

Oooh. About your parasitic extraction au? How do force sensitives live in the Mandalorian empire? Like you said conscripted, do they have a bastardization of Jedi culture? Are they enslaved? What is it like? Do canon characters live in the empire or in the Jedi Order in hiding? (I'm thinking Mace Windu, Depa Billiba, Plo Koon, and Ahsoka Tano mainly.) Also! Do other clones exist? Mainly the CCs. Wolffe, Fox and Bly lol
the mandalorian empire love having force sensitive warriors because they're extra strong and have superhuman reflexes so they do everything they can to get their hands on as many of them as they can
general practice is for young force sensitives to be 'adopted' by high-ranking mandalorian clans for training. if they're born into a less prominent mandalorian clan, maybe they can train their kid themself or they can surrender the kid. if the family is not a mandalorian family (e.g., one of the occupied worlds) they're supposed to surrender their force-sensitive child for training and this is considered an honorable thing to do. if they don't want to do that and try to get their child to the jedi order instead to save them from being conscripted for basically the rest of their life then usually their whole family gets killed and the child gets sent to a mandalorian clan as above (this happened to ahsoka and she hates the rebellion because she blames them for her family's death)
mandalorian jedi all wear collars which cannot be removed, and the collar denotes their rank. each mandalorian jedi is also assigned to a handler who is supposed to act as support and also is supposed to kill their jedi if they go off the rails (drink too much dark juice from all the murder and start killing everyone). a mandalorian's jedi armor specifically has an undefended back for this purpose. they're not *technically* enslaved because this is considered an honorable position and they get a lot of privileges but like. read between the lines here.
mandalorian jedi are basically all trained in combat and not so much in the psychic philosophical spiritual stuff because the mandalorians think that 'don't kill people' thing is for chumps and they burned down most of the jedi temple's libraries. they just don't know how to do the psychic stuff and most of the psychic stuff doesn't work very well when you don't teach them emotional regulation first. like a trial for all mandalorian jedi is that they get their kyber crystal and they're not promoted until they've killed enough people that it turns red. if that puts things into perspective.
anyways, the old jedi order is in hiding across the galaxy. they wear normal clothes and they got rid of the padawan braid because they don't want to be murdered on sight. instead of the braid, they use a set of prayer beads, which they carve and add beads to as they go through trials and visit different worlds, partially because prayer beads are really easy to dispose of in a hurry. they do have a base in dagobah though where they take care of and teach the youngest force sensitives.
re: who's who, there are a lot of canon characters on both sides. obi-wan, obviously, is one of the traditional jedi. he was mace's padawan when he got captured by jango. depa, plo koon, jocasta, yoda, and maul are all traditional jedi. obviously there are more, but those are the ones who get mentioned by name.
on the mandalorian side, we have ahsoka (whose handler is padme), anakin (whose handler was rex), qui-gon (who is dead), ventress (whose handler is isabet reau), dooku (whose handler is myles), quinlan (who is a spy trying to infiltrate the jedi order), also aayla and vokara che who kind of just briefly show up
the other clones mostly don't exist. I say mostly because when jango put in a clone order for two sons, kamino made three in case one of them didn't make it, but all three of them did make it and the third one is fox, who the kaminoans then put into the brainwashing factory to turn him into a brainwashed super soldier. and then when jango went back and asked for a new son because cody and rex disappointed him, they made three again and two made it. one of them is boba, and the other one I have named kiki. he is also put into the brainwashing factory.
which is all to say. being a jedi is rough as hell regardless of what side you're on.
ask me a question about parasitic extraction, the role reversal mandalorian empire au that I have

"I think you will be needing this..."
There was a time in fandom where people used to make tons of rec lists of their favorite fics. I discovered a lot of great fics this way! I decided to make my own, to treat my codywan fever.
I hope it helps people discover, or re-discover, some amazing fics.
So! For your reading pleasure, here are some of my favourite codywan fics, out there. They aren't all here, because we have been blessed with a lot of great fics for this ship, but I have definively loved all of those.
Good reading!!!
Canon compliant
illicit affairs
Rex catch Cody and Obi-Wan in flagrante delicto and has a lot of feelings about it. Not positive ones. He feels it threaten his brother's life and... well, he's not wrong is he?
But love, between brothers, between a commander and his general can sometimes stronger than risks or reasons.
Painfull but amazing.
It happens during the war and ends during it too, so you don't know what will ultimately happens in this world. Do they make it? You don't know. I didn't put it in canon divergence because, aside from the fact it's codywan, nothing contradict it being canon compliant.
Canon -or not- is not the point, though. The point is the love story of Cody and Obi-Wan, as seen through Rex's eyes.
But love, between brothers, between a commander and his general can sometimes stronger than risks or reasons.
Painfull but amazing.
an injury to one
deniigiq is one fo those authors whose codywan's I just can't get enough of. That weird assholes hyperarticulate characterisation is just... XD I don't know. I love it!
The troopers make a discovery of the fiscal variety, which causes them to realize that they may have more in common with the jedi than they previously thought.
The Jedi Order is a charitable religious order. Ergo, they aren't getting paid. They get 'some' stipends but with the war, they are quickly reaching the point of untenability. Don't worry, they've got a plan.
It's told mostly from from Fox's POV which I love because 1. I love codywan as told from an outside POV 2. I love Fox.
I just love him. He has so much happening to him. He is so nihilistic, deadpan and done. Yet, he never let it twist him or give up because he love his brothers and won't let them flounders. Also, he may or may not have acquired a crush on that impossible kriffar jedi.
Warning for exploitation, money, off-screen non graphic child death and clone troopers deshumanization. Jedi Order and jedi lineage fuckery. Clone commanders fuckery. Grogu briefly shows up. Fox's buir instincts are now activated. Previously, he was of the opinion jedi could sink or swim on their own not anymore. He got this.
Canon divergence
The Art of Happenstance *
Cody and Obi-Wan co-parent a lightsaber. Force Bond. I think it saves Cody from Order 66? It ends on a cliffhanger but it's hopefull.
Funny and fantastic.
Hope
The Clone Wars are the backdrop to a quiet and fragile love between a general and a clone commander.
Listen. Listen. I cannot even begin to tell you how beautifull and delicate their love feels in this fic. It's like picking up a piece of art made out of gossamerish light.
It's poetic. It's splendid. It's quiet, discreet and personnal, like the feelings of these private men. It ties up kind of quickly to give a happy ending despite Order 66 still being carried out, but it's everything that get you there that matters.
Stunning.
The Loneliest Human Boy in the Jedi Temple
Rather than let Boba go to jail, Obi-Wan adopts him.
It's told from Boba POV, which is very interesting. I love TCW period stories featuring Boba!
And it deals with Boba confronting his father's death, being adopted by a jedi to avoid jail despite the fact his father hated jedi, dealing with what's he's done to get revenge on Mace, learning to see maybe the clones as more than things, and starting to accept that if clones are not things, then his father was wrong. What he did was wrong.
Boba has to recon with a thousand things, decide what's moral or what's not and has no one he trusts to guide him without feeling like he's betraying the only parent he has ever loved. At eleven.
Boba's disregard of clones is wrong. But when you look at all he has going on and what handicap he started out with, you cannot help but feel for him.
I feel like Boba is Dudley, the Dursley are Jango, the clones are Harry and I'm Dumbledore in the Dursley's living room at the start of book 6, shaking my head. In the end, you can only pity Boba a bit and love him and be sadden by the damages Jango did to Boba out of selfish, blind love.
No Order 66
These Things Happen
Obi-wan Kenobi keeps promoting Cody because giving him courting gifts as his superior officer would be Wrong. The promotions gets out of hand, and it somehow save the universe.
When Duty is Done - serie
Post-War: settling the matter of Clones Rights, Jedi Order Reforms, Force Philosophy, inter-jedi conflicts that were put off during the war, PTSD, healing, preparing a new planet to become the clones' home, clones culture exploration which is rooted in, but not, mandalorian's culture and, of course, getting together and settling in a relationship for Cody and Obi-Wan.
Loved it!!!! Cody is MVP. Maul is there, with Yaddle, and I'm here for it. Bant, where have you been? Chirrut is my Force Follower idol. Feemor is there as more than a footnote on Qui-Gon's history and it's amazing.
Basically, all the explorations of lives for the clones and jedi and Force Users you could possibly want in a No-Order 66 post-war setting.
Listen. Some works that are the work: Remedial Jedi Theology, Luminous, Prince With a Thousand Enemies, Open Skies ...
This is the one for No-Order 66 post-war Codywan, ex-aequo with sunshine and the shade of poetry.
sunshine and the shade of poetry
I have so much love for this fic.
The war comes to an abrupt end, and everyone around Cody begins the long road to recovery and discovery. Cody, on the other hand, just needs to find a new job. Unfortunately, he has no idea which one to pick.
First, No-Order 66 post-war Codywan is my absolute favorite type of codywan.
Second, everything. But more seriously, Codywan is often written in a such a way that Cody's life revolve around Obi-Wan's life. He settle in the Temple to live with Obi-Wan, he helps Obi-Wan deal with Anakin's meltdown/death/leaving the Order, he takes one of the job the jedi have made for the vode so he can work with Obi-Wan...
Do you see where I am going with this?
It's all about Obi-Wan. And while it can be fun to read if it's not pushed to its absolute, this type of unequal relationship, where one dedicate their entire life to the other, makes my skin crawl. Funnily enough, it's also 80% of the time the POC in that role when it's about an interracial couple. And I just - can't.
Here, Cody is his own person.
He had a life before Obi-Wan, he has one now beside Obi-Wan, and he will have one still, after, independantly from the love of his life. You can love someone as much as the galaxy is wide and still have love for your own separate life, your own friends, your own interests, goals, journey...
Basically, after the war, Cody says fuck it to any kind of military job and set out to 'find himself'. He doesn't know what it will look like and all his brothers mock him gently, and a bit worriedly, as they leave him in the dust by settling into their own civilian lives, since they don't have the same kind of hang-up he does.
But, by the Force, he is going to figures out who he is and what he wants, aside from the jedi, aside from the GAR, aside from even his own brothers, if it kills him. The 'situation' with General Kenobi will just have to wait until then.
Imagine that. Wanting to be sure of who you are, what you want and the kind of life you want before entering a relationship. Wanting to be certain of yourself, first. Especialy in a relationship where you didn't have the same power status before.
An excellent look at Cody, at the commanders, at the clones, at a post-war life in the Republic. Bly, Alpha-17 and Wolffe just shot me through the heart. It is now my headcanon that Bly is short for Butterfly for... reasons.
Find out by reading it.
And as if that wasn't enough, there's a short sequel with Alpha 17 written by deniigiq. It's the gift that keep on giving.
in our hearts some ancient song
Or: Cody finds Fives first. There are galactic consequences.
It was touch and go for a moment but happy endings guys! Thrill and anxiety abounds beforehand. Temple shenanigans. Force's engineering. The chips get activated earlier than canon but they make it through!
Worth a Thousand Words
Lol! Post-War, the clones didn't get much instructions in how to approach someone romantically. Someone suggest Cody try to send a dick pic to Obi-Wan. Somehow, it works, but not the way you expect.
This is so great! I was howling with laughers and cringing in sympathic embarrassement. Poor Cody!
This, too, was a gift
After the Rako Hardeen mission, Obi-Wan suffers a complete nervous breakdown, kills all the Sith in a way he feels violate everything he is and stands for, then fall into a severe depressive fugue.
Meanwhile, the Republic tries to reconstruct. The clones take what is owe to them and try to settle on a new planet, figure out who they are outside the War, serving the Republic and the jedi, while looking for their missing savior.
Obi-Wan is really, really depressed here and dissociated from reality for a while so, beware. Yaddle is MVP. A great look into the clones culture. The Sith problem get resolved pretty quickly. The story is about what come after and how you deal with having done what you had to do in a time of war.
This I Vow
Cody and Obi-Wan gets married for a mission. Somehow, it saves the universe.
Healthy . Adults . Communication. Please and thank you!
When We Were Young
After the war, Cody dedicated himself to his brothers: their rights, their protection, their well-beings, their lives...
He knows Obi-Wan has dedicated himself to the Order, but he hasn't seen him long enough to talk about it.
Thought now they are going on a joint mission once more, maybe that's about to change...
(hit me) with your heart
The one where Cody walks in on Obi-Wan in an intimate situation, and that ends up changing their relationship and the future of the galaxy.
Porn With Plot. Spanking. Kink exploration Safe, Sane and Consensual. It saves most of the galaxy. Rolls with it. Amazing exploration of sexuality and consent. Glimmerglanger doing the Lord's sexy work, as always. The plot is actually there and great!
the turning fork
Anakin doesn't fall, but he and Padme don't keep custody of Luke and Leia. Anakin tries to grapple with the consensual loss of his children while trying to stay in their lives. Meanwhile, someone murders a senator.
Amazing! Fantastic. The feelings... The reflection on choices and morality and parenthood and the choices one made about their lives and the ones they are going to make in the future to live a life they want to live.
Leia has Anakin's bad temper and the Organa love her but are a bit overwhelmed. Luke is his sweet self, being raised by weirdoes assholes Cody & Obi-Wan in space Scottland Stewjon. Yes, Obi-Wan left the Order to raise Luke in peace. He gets Cody as a bonus, since the man is now Luke's dad and Obi-Wan is lucky he's sharing.
A Different Perspective
Obi-Wan, Cody, the war, and a bunch of men and boys who have never gotten to choose things for themselves before, as seen through Dex's eyes.
Guys... Guys... *sob*
Finders Keepers *
Your soulmate finds everything you lose.
Obi-Wan has never had a soulmate of his own to lose things to before. Now, he's picking up things and wonders who they belong to.
Cody’s never been sure if the things he finds belong to his soulmate. If he even has one.
Anakin is contantly losing things but it somehow save the Universe because Padme take good care of them.
Fox and Bly and Bail and Breha and Bant and Kit and Boil and Waxer... all the others are there too.
chronic condition
Post War. Obi-Wan has epilepsy and it's tied to his prescience. Cody want Kix to investigate. Because they are weirdos assholes and he doesn't want to ask Obi-Wan outright. But also because he respects his privacy too much to make him talk about it. You know, they are only boyfriends. Don't won't to push boundaries too much, there. He's not a savage. Lol. Cody, you weirdo....
It was so good. So goooood... There was already the interesting part where clones don't ride into the sunset with jedi. They, too, chafe against their perception of jedi-superiority, so a lot of them choose something different than "move in the Temple and dedicate their lives to their jedi generals and jedi work". Which I love.
But, you know, I think this, it's a more realistic take and a more equal footing, long-term, than the unbalanced "clones devoted to jedi". Also, variety is always a special treat for the reader. At least it is for me. You could gave me a thousand of different headcanons, if it's well done, I'm on board!
And this one... The clones, the brotherhood/friendship amongst clones, Cody's backstory, the jedi, the post-war, the medical investigation, the Force/Jedi Order worldbuilding,.... What can I say? Save for a few fics with some of my NOTP/squicks, everything deniigiq has ever written just delight me and blow me away.
your atomic god *
The code of a clone is a simple thing: you were made to die for the Republic, for the Jedi. Make the most of the time you have before that.
Clone culture: seeded by mandalorian culture, but not the same. Introspection and identities issues: Cody ponders a lot about what it means to be a clone and who he is. Cody is super smart and cares a lot for his brothers. It has shaped my understanding of Cody.
Obi-Wan and Cody fell in love because they have actually a lot in common. Obi-Wan's lightsaber is playing matchmaker. This somehow save the universe.
Wrong Side of the Night
Is there a limit to how many fics by glimmerglanger I can rec?
*check magic eight ball* "My sources say no."
Cody has a very bad day, both he and Obi-Wan choose a less than ideal ways to handle the situation, and they have a long conversation about it the next morning.
Ouch. Like, ouch. Yet. Beware: Unjust treatement of the clones (not by Obi-Wan). Unhealthy emotional response. Impulsively angry sex. Dub-con. As-in, Cody's actions are driven by anger that has overtaken his reason and Obi-Wan's are driven by maladaptative reponse to a lifetime of traumatic environnement.
But, it's codywan, guys. So, once everyone has cooled-off: communication! Care and self-care! Trust! Support!
This fic was particularly impactful for me for personal reasons but I think it's powerfull, full-stop. You can love each other very much and still not act well towards each other. Beware of purity/cancel culture. People are failible and, at some point, they are going to fuck up.
But One: they are both harmed by the action they both perpetrated. No villain and blameless victim here. Two: once they have messed up, they both recognise their own part it it, apologise and commit to corrective actions.
This is what a good relationship look like, even with the slip up. This is what you can trust because of the slip up. They don't have to be perfect with the other all the time, because they know they can get through it and improve. The codywan is strong in this one.
I'm Not Safe Outside Your Arms
This is probably the most anguished fic you can find about a No-Order 66. But it has a happy ending!
Basically, and without spoiling it too much, the jedi do kill Palpatine but Darth Sidious continues to inflict pain, sorrow and suffering on the galaxy from beyond the grave.
Obi-Wan, of course, shoulders the whole of it but so do the vode. You're really horrified for Obi-Wan, but you feel for the 212th attack battalion: brave, strong and loyal to the end.
They should be free, they should be safe, for the first time of their lives. Their brothers are! But they aren't. And they choose it, because some choice, no matter how grim and terrifying, are no choice at all.
But there's light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone love everyone and no one is giving up. Get ready.
There Was Only One Bed
Make Your Bed (Lie in It)
They have to share a sleeping bag for cold weather reasons. Then, they just keep sharing. Yeah, Cody, we're onto you. Go through Order 66 with open-ended fix-it.
room for two
Cody and Obi-Wan are on an undercover mission, and for some reason, they have to pretend to be married. It appears that the pining will increase exponentially for the next week.
Not really a mission fic, since it's all about the trope. But it's there to put a "background" to all the small spaces sharing and there's even a tiny bit of action. It was funny and good and I enjoyed it a lot.
Warning for those who, like me, don't think the Code preclude relationships. Obi-Wan presents it like it does in the fic, but that he chose Cody anyway. I disagree. The problem is not relationship but the kind of relationship and how it impact the choices you make, your work, your committement. My headcanon for jedi/civilian relationship and their consequences/risks/problems is 70% like it is in Remedial Jedi Theology, which I recommend to everyone.
It's alright, it doesn't take off from it. It's mean to be this side of crackish, fun read, which it is, so I don't feel the need to split hair about interpretation of the Code. I just want to mention it for those who feel strongly about it. If it bothers you, you can stop at the end of chapter two. It's still great and can be read as finished at this point.
Crack
Classified
Obi-Wan goes undercover. Cody takes some calls. These two facts are absolutely not related.
Funny as shit!
First Choice
The AU where the clones get to pick their generals and Obi-Wan is, once again, left feeling unwanted. But is he really?
Warnings: Obi-Wan has Self Esteem Issues. This is still funny and the whole pagentry/tests clones make the jedi go through to pick and choose their general was gold.
The Trouble With Tookas
Never trust somebody a tooka dislikes.
It started with a fanart and end up with tookas as Sith detector. It's great. Sheevie is regretting everything.
*The ones about Cody and Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan's lightsaber
Your Life In My Hands
OR, the one where a lightsaber really is a Jedi's life.
Temporary character's death. Under 5 000 words, but by all that is good and holy, does glimmerglanger make it counts.
Like, damn. Plus, jedi and saber lore. Must Read.
Mission Fic
Standard Operating Procedures
The 212th run into a dark acolyte who curse them with a love spell. Roll with it, it's amazing.
It's actually mission fic, or more like case fic. They are working hard to find out how to break the spell and why some brothers are affected and some are not. It's great!
Rapture
Mission fic! Yay! Biological warfare, intelligence gathering, city infiltration, plot against jedi, temporary depowerment that won't keep Obi-Wan down, Competent Cody ftw, with art...
This fic has it all!
parallelogram
Obi-Wan fakes his death and Cody works through every stage of grief. He eventually decides that he's going to fuck his way out of the depression pit and finds himself falling in love with this handsome Mandalorian who he just keeps meeting.
Obi-Wan dies and Cody is out of all the fuck to give. First, he spirals. Then, he says screw the universe. He treat himself. He looks for sex. He undermines all the unworthy incompetent natborns officers. He take on Boba's gardienship, who is not in space jail at 11 but was up to this point under Mace's supervision. Ponds is very relieved.
He will crawl out of this depressive hole or die trying.
Smuggled In
NO ORDER 66. But, also Mission Fic. And I think it's more about the Mission than the fact it happens in a No Order 66's world, thought I love it and I'm gratefull for it.
Cody and some of the 212th get captured by smugglers, and nothing is quite what it seems to be.
Hahaha! I love this one! Cody is always blaming the shit that happens to the 212th on Obi-Wan and now the joke is on him because it went completely off the rails pretty early and the jedi is nowhere near where the action is happening. Or, is he?
Asexuality
Hedgehog's Dilemma
Cody is in love with Obi-Wan and determined to court him. Obi-Wan is interested in Cody but not sex. Cody has no idea what to make with that. They try to figure it out.
a lesson in attachment
Obi-Wan has never been enough. It's okay. The Force loves him anyway. And so does Cody.
Touching and, as greyS/Ace myself, it resonated.
Mpreg
A Slow Fall Towards Grace
I cannot even begin to tell you how much this fic touch me. Obi-Wan is an omega, though it's not a traditional depiction of A/B/O.
It keeps screwing him over thorough his life and the sex he ends up having despite himself is not funny. Read the tags. Obi-Wan is ignorant of how much people want him, but considering it's not because he's this bastion of Mary-Sue perfection, but because the alphas around him are knot-heads who excuse their poor behaviors and selfishness with their hormones, it doesn't read that way.
Cody is amazing. Obi-Wan is the Force's chew toy and beloved son at the same time. Loved it.
1861 c.100 s.60
Obi-Wan gets pregnant during the war and decides that the obvious course of action is constant and brazen denial.
Obi-Wan is a weird asshole. Cody is weirder. They are the perfect couple.
Anakin cannot deal with them because the twins came early and he doesn't have the time anymore. Listen, he doesn't even have time for Palpatine anymore...
Lol! Screwing with Sheevie. Clones fuckery. Adorable grumpy she-tubie. Codywan being the perfect assholes we know them to be and furiously in love. All the feels and pettily satisfying.
for every loved child
The one where new father Cody reckons with many of the anxieties and traumas of his past and gets some much delayed comfort.
Or how glimmerglanger managed to make me cry in less than 4 000 words.
It's not so much a mpreg fic, but a new parents fic. A late-night breastfeeding session reveals a lot of buried and current feelings, thoughts and issues. There's much pain, but it's all surrounded by intimacy, love and warmth. It's like hiding under the blanket with your SO and shading cathartic tears. Amazing.
Post-Order 66
I hate Order 66. I don't want to read fics about it. Some authors are just too good, though.
Haunt Me, Then
Fix-It, as much as possible. CC-2224 becomes Cody again and will die trying to make up killing his General and jedi, even if it kills him.
Heartwrenching.
We Build Our Empire From Ruins And Smoke
The Republic is dead and the Empire's throne is empty, and Fox will be damned if he lets anyone claim it.
Basically, post-order 66, the clones come back online and since everything they worked, die for and cared about is dead or gone, the gloves are off.
Come with prequels and sequels, it's actually a whole serie. No dialogue. Anakin is dead. Palpatine dies. Clones-centric.
Not something I agree with irl, because it's when democracy is threaten you should work twice as hard to secure it. But since it's fiction and the general canon sense we get of politicians and regular population confronted with Order 66 is that they either don't care or agree, it's pretty fine with me.
First Sight
For Cody, it's love at first sight. From Kamino to Tatooine, it lives inside him.
A Treatise on Breaking and Repairs
Warning: whumpfest. Great satisfaction at the end, though.
Three years post-Order 66, Obi-Wan get captured by Vader. Rape and torture ensue. The 212th, under the chips' control, are there for it all. In the end, Anakin gets his just dessert. Our boys make free.
But while you can make free from a place, you cannot free yourself from the horrors visited upon your soul that easily.
the boat that would row you back
Or, after Obi-Wan vanish it front of Vader on the Death Star, Vader decides he didn't get the proper fight he deserves and send CC-2224 in the underworld to bring Obi-Wan back.
Of course, nothing is that easy.
The Carbon Cycle
Obi-Wan decide to try to grow flowers on Tatooine to heal himself. CC-2224 is having dreams about the General he supposedly kills. Somehow, it save the both of them.
I'm a whore for dreamsharing fic. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love it. This fic... this fic is cleansing and healing and touching and beautifull. I loved it!
A Whim, A Desire
OK, this one doesn't hurt. Much.
Three years after Order 66, Vader finds an artifact that allows him to create his perfect dream world within the Force. However, he finds that maintaining this world is impossible without someone living inside it at all times. He throws in everyone he can from his past life, including CC-2224.
Obi-Wan fell asleep on Tatooine and wake up in his dreams in the perfect life.
But illusion is not reality and when the seems of the dream start to show, Cody and Obi-Wan will fight to make their dream a reality.
Both Cody and Obi-Wan think the other is an illusion, and so they are free and honest with each other. What they built is lovely. Vader show up like the Lord of the House but it allows Obi-Wan to play out his fantasies of still being able to talk to Anakin and being part of his life.
It doesn't ends in Yay! We saved the Universe and kills Sidious/Vader. Just - Cody, saving himself and those he can along the way.
Fantasic imaginings. Make you wish it could have happen, if Anakin hadn't ruined everything by becoming Vader. Vader's frustrations of people and things eluding his 'absolute sithly control' is hilarious, sad and the source of endless failures on his part. Thankfully.
diogenes (what makes a man?)
Cody, grappling with identity, purpose and what it means to be a brother.
Cody-centric. From Kamino to Tatooine. Lot of clones. Lot of feels and introspection. Most Dies But Some Lives.
Listen, I'm of the die hard opinion that if Cody's chip fail during the Empire, no matter when or how, he would not rest until he has saved all the brothers he can save. This is the same characterisation here.
|free the hearts and rust the chains|
There aren't many clones left in the Imperial Army. (...) Zhade-Ran doesn't trust her two bunkmates. Although perhaps not for the reasons she should.
I love stories being told from an excellently done OC. Here, we've got two troopers who want to desert and two clones who shake the chips' control after years of being under and deign for the natborns to join them on their way out. Now, all they need to do is find a way to get in touch with the Rebellion.
Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!
An Elegant Weapon *
Cody is Force Sensitive. Obi-Wan teach him how to fight with a lightsaber. It doesn't save the universe, but at least it saves Cody. It's great! I promise Cody is still Cody and not changed into a zen jedi. He can just... feels the Force.
set the bones straight
Purge Trooper CC-2224 is an extremely efficient jedi killer. He will find them all. All of them. Even the one from his dreams.
Pffffiuuuu. Don't look into this one for Cody's softening influence on CC-2224 or breaking out of the chip's influence by the sheer force of Will and Morality. This is straight-up Purge Trooper. Happy ending, though. Sort of. As much as can be in Post-Order 66.
Recollection
CC-2224 malfunctions. The Empire tries to wipe him into working order. Cody is not letting them.
Or, Eternal Sunshine of the Reconditioned Mind. *bawl my eyes out* Codyyyy!!!!
|to failure, sweet victor|
The chip malfunction enough for Cody to seek out and join Obi-Wan on Tatooine. The chips function enough for CC-2224 to tries to kill that traitor Kenobi whenever he's online.
They make it work.
one meal at a time
Cody and Obi-Wan's love story, as told through food. This is so chokefull of love...
Errr... Order 66 fuck me up. I don't get why I put so many of them there. I guess it's popular amongst writers? And I can bend my likes/dislikes when the writing is that good. Curse you, good writers!
Home, A Place You've Never Been
Cody's chip fails. Cody dreams of Tatooine. Cody gets to Tatooine. Now that he's there, he must heal and tame Ben Kenobi, whose wounds on his soul make him the kindest not-jedi. But also depressed, weary and wary as hell.
Excellent. Obi-Wan is very oblivious. Then, in the three sequels, very happy. As much as can be post-Order 66.
The Raephen's Gifts
It's happy! Cody and Obi-Wan obviously make it through Order 66 and the Empire, along with some clones and jedi, and the Republic and the Jedi Order are restored to the galaxy.
But it's all alluded to only very briefly in the background. Basicaly, now that the galaxy is at peace once more, old married couple codywan get on a week long retreat on a peacefull planet in Wild Space where they are sure they won't be bothered or called.
They sleep, eat fish and maybe meet some Force entities along the way.
Just... old codywan, with disabilities, having a week of rest and healing. Chilling. It's everything I wish for them in a post-Order 66 era.
AUs I Cannot Help But Read
AUs, as in, change the Star Wars Universe, not the events of canon.
Listen, I hate when SF is not SF. But, again, some authors are just too good and they make it work.
Vampire AU serie
Yes. Really. Don't run for the hills! It's not your Twilight Romance. Everything is the same. Obi-Wan is just of a specie called Vampire because, you know, they drink blood as part of their diet.
And since it's Star Wars: Space Racism! Yay!
This somehow makes the Clone Wars both better and worse.
Sort of Vampirism? Its not the story
I put it there because in this sort-of supernatural AU, Force users drink blood.
But really, the story is about how Cody and Obi-Wan get trapped in a lost jedi Temple, how they must join forces to make it out, and how the ensuing unshakable trust help them deal with post-Order 66.
It was great. I love lost jedi Temple fic! I could read millions of them.
Commander Cody and Star Wars’ actual Disney princess
Obi-Wan, the prince in his high tower, is not waiting for a rescue. Cody is the not-knight interested in rescuing him.
I shit you not. Magic is used instead of the Force, but everything is very recognisable and the story is great! Lot of Cody's brothers are there.
Zombies
A stunning mission fic, 64 000 words long, where the Separatist experiment biological warefare on a neutral planet and the 212th get caught in the middle.
Down to less than a hundred soldiers, they must fight an entire planet for their survival. Buckle up! Clones Wars Plots! Zombies Nightmares! With sequel!
I cannot stress enough how much you need it. If you like action, this is the fic for you.
Sith Obi-Wan
Really not my kind fic. I headcanon the very bone of Obi-Wan personality as selfless. And to be Sith is rooted in selfishness.
Imcompatible in its essence. Does not work.
In this fic, it works. Sith Empire, so it explains Obi-Wan being Sith. Unexpected kind of A/B/O. Warning for Obi-Wan/212th battalion. The codywan is there and ready to do damage. Revenge ahead. Less than 6000 words, maximum impact.
Glimmerglanger strikes again. It was great.
Dark Sider Obi-Wan
Not to be confused: Obi-Wan is not a Sith there.
He is an ex-padawan who left the Order to fight a war for children against adults, then joined another war, then another war and another and another...
By the time he realised he strayed from the Light, he has cease to care about it. He is good at war and they always say if you're good at something, you should be paid for it. A galactic war may be the peak of his career, if it wasn't such a strange war. It doesn't quite make sense, and Obi-Wan's weakness is definitively curiosity.
Meanwhile, Commander Cody has it with this dark sider ruining things. He may be a fearsome separatist general, but Cody is no light weight himself. If the man is going to drop gauntlets left and right, than Cody is going to damn well one pick one himself.
Let's see who is the better fighter and strategic mastermind.
Always-A-Girl-Obi-Wan
Funerary practices? Master Ti writes back. I’m not sure what you mean, Master Kenobi. Used biomass is the property of Kamino and thus is recycled into the cloning process.
So that’s how the revolution begins—with dead brothers, but not the way you might expect.
Obi-Wan is still Obi-Wan. You might as well read this as Canon Divergence. But fandom readers will always has the fear of Mary Sue, I think, so I prefered to put the fact that it's Lady Wan at the foreground.
It's great. It's so freaking great... The 212th are all a little bit in love with Obi-Wan. Cody definitively is. Obi-Wan has nightmares and decide she's done with this shit. She's going to take her clones and stage a strike. See how the Senate like that! Ha!
Lol. If anyone ever make a fanart of Lady Wan as a pinup for ship's nose art, please, please, send me the link! Warnings for cloneship in the background.
Time Travel
while the world still turns
Cody touch an artefact in a jedi Temple and is sent at various point of Obi-Wan's life. All the codywan feels. Of course, it's going to save the Universe!
Fire to ash, present to past (who knows for tomorrow?)
Obi-Wan is fifteen again, things are different, people are confused, but maybe there's something good at the end of the path
Obi-Wan is the Force chew toy and beloved son at the same time. Obi-Wan has PTSD. Qui-Gon is confused. Listen, you don't get much more than "Obi-Wan get back in his old body". That's it. That's the whole fic.
The whole thing is about landing in a different time with undealt with traumas and finally dealing. Why put it on this codywan rec list, then? Ah, I'm not gonna spoil you, now, am I? You will just have to read for yourself.
The Suns Swing East
Over and over, Obi-Wan woke up and wished he hadn't. Palpatine wouldn't stop until Obi-Wan had Fallen (...)
He couldn't save himself (...) What he hadn't realized was that didn't mean there was no way to be saved.
Time-Loop!!! Palpatine realise Obi-Wan can kick Anakin's ass and decide he is the one he wants as his apprentice. Then, with sith powers, he tries his best to break him.
Obi-Wan is at the end of his rope. He has lived through many lives, all of them horrible, all of them failures. At this point, he wished he could join the Force. Seriously. Depression. Suicide attempt. The work. But Obi-Wan isn't alone. And those who love him will save him. And the Universe along the way.
Die Sheevie, die.
A heartfelt thanks to @glimmerglanger @deniigi @nightfoliage @lttrsfrmlnrrgby @galateagalvanized @esamastation @wanderingjedihistorian @nerjetii @petrichordiam @someawkwardprose @trixree @andthepeople
(The other authors either had no tumblr handle put on their ao3 profile, or their pseudo didn't work when I tried to @ at them. I thank them anyway, and all those whose codywan fics I have loved but not put there. Thank you.)

Clear Sky Abuse Tally
IT'S THE "HIT" NEW GAME SHOW WHERE WE KEEP A RUNNING LIST OF EVERY TIME CLEAR SKY BATTERS RANDOM PEOPLE
I'm trying to think of how to keep this list... I don't want to be tallying every small thing, but I do want to track the important cases, as well as the lesser ones that people tend to forget.
Important note- I'm starting this list while reading First Battle so the details of the previous books (especially sun trail) will be more broad than later ones. This list isn't complete yet as I'm still re-reading.
Sun Trail:
Screamed at young Jagged Peak and consistently put him down through the Journey
Commanded his cats to enforce borders for no reason, getting several people injured
Broke up Jagged Peak's bonding with Gray Wing during his visit and got into a public fight with pregnant mate Storm, suggesting that he was already being controlling.
Threw Jagged Peak out of his group for becoming disabled
Watched Fox brutalize Gray Wing, doing nothing, until Gray Wing flailed out in self defense (blinded by his own blood leaking into his eyes) and killed him accidentally, at which time Clear Sky accused him of murder
Abandoned baby Thunder
Thunder Rising:
Continues to aggrieve the border with the moor cats
Humiliates Jagged Peak by calling him useless
Lies to Thunder that abandoning him "was a test" that he passed, so he's worthy of his love now
Makes no note about Moon Shadow as they leave, because he is severely burned and ergo no longer useful.
Emotionally manipulates Thunder by saying he can, "stay with the kits" if he doesn't leave with them immediately, preventing him from properly saying goodbye to his adopted family
Brings him to a bunch of charred, unsafe trees to force him to leap around, shouting when he's too cautious and also when he is too fast. This is a manipulation tactic called a Double Bind.
Started expanding borders in spite of having enough food, as the fire didn't reach as far as camp and didn't burn the whole forest.
Slaughtered Misty, who was defending her kits
Suggested killing the kits too
Beat Bumble to death and acted offended that Gray Wing didn't start parroting his fantastic lie
Became so offended that Thunder tried to talk to him about the borders that he constructed a test of loyalty using Frost's life (warning: medical gore)
Publicly humiliated Frost by making him flash his weeping wound at the entire Clan
Exiled him, saying that Frost was 'endangering' the Clan with his weakness
Told the teenage Thunder to bring him away from the territory, "where the maggots can find him," knowing that Thunder wouldn't want to be responsible for the death of a Clanmate
When he refused, he shoved his face into the festering, reeking wound and told him to "lick it clean if he cares so much"
Pushed Thunder in front of a fox that suddenly attacked camp
The First Battle:
Called Falling Feather for a chat alone after overhearing her goodbye to Thunder, and then slashed her face when she called him greedy
Publicly humiliates her, 'feeling pleased' at seeing the guilt in her eyes, and announces she must be punished for displaying disloyalty. “Any cat may give Falling Feather orders. Any cat may take her prey if they wish. She is lower than a snake until she has earned our trust again.”
Brings the orphaned kits, Birch and Alder, out on a training session and forces them to run as fast as him, shaming them when the kittens can't keep up
Smacks Alder when she is uncomfortable about Clear Sky forcing her to do a surprise ambush on Birch
Leaves Birch alone in the woods where the kitten is attacked by a dog
Overhunts to the point of there being several piles of meat, about to spoil
Takes a hostage, Jackdaw's Cry, and starves him for 3 days. "Cats take months to starve, I've seen it in the mountains. Dumb moor cats, always wanting more than they deserve."
Lies that he would keep him safe and fed.
Forces his cats to train with claws out, leaving them collectively bloody and bruised
Does not allow cats to choose their own food, flinging carcasses at them so that they only eat when he allows it.
Tells son Thunder that he shouldn't exist before commanding his cats to attack him
Starts the First Battle over Jackdaw's Cry catching a bat "on his land" after starving him, ending what was supposed to be a peaceful negotiation
When the negotiation patrol jumps up onto a rock he makes it known the intention is murder, “That’s right,” he hissed, “Stay up here and watch your friends die.”
Murders Rainswept Flower when she hadn't attacked him, offended that she called him greedy, boasting that if he hadn't killed her then some other cat would have.

Wolffe squeezed Rex’s hand nervously as they walked into a busy office in the new Jedi temple. There were already clones and Jedi waiting in seats to be called and a few in line ahead of them to talk to the receptionists to check in.
“Hello, I’m Ja’nari, how can I help you today?” A nice human looking Jedi asked, brown hair clipped back to stay out of her face.
“I’m Commander Wolffe and this is my husband Rex. We, uh, have an appointment about adopting a cadet?” He said feeling his heart flip a few times in his chest and Rex squeezed his hand back.
“Oh, yes! You’re here about Threes. He’s part of Sneko Clan right now, I remember Arlena mentioning he might be being adopted soon. Here, fill this out and bring it back when you’re finished and we’ll get you in soon.” She said handing them a datapad which Rex took and gestured to the seats nearby before calling up the next group in line.
Sitting down Wolffe peeked at the form as Rex started to fill everything out. “Didn’t we already fill this out last time we were here?” He asked, remembering they had been made to fill out enough paperwork to supply two full battalions and they would know. It had taken ages and been exhausting to try to figure some of the questions out since the forms had seemed to be meant for natborns.
“These are different and there’s only two. I think it’s just finalizing stuff to make sure nothing has changed since the last time we were here.” Rex said finishing up easily enough and returning the pad to Ja’nari before returning to sit next to Wolffe.
Wolffe fidgeted. “What if Fox was right? I might not be good at this Rex. I-” He whispered but Rex knocked their shoulders together.
“Firstly, Fox apologized for that already and only said that because you provoked him. Secondly, Fox's opinion doesn’t actually matter in the end, only ours, even if he did actually think the things he said, which I know for a fact he does not. Wolffe, we went over this like a hundred times already. You like Threes. I like Threes. Threes likes both of us. We have the space and money and time to take care of him. We’ve both taken care of entire battalions before. We can take care of one single cadet.” He reminded him. Wolffe snorted.
“You make everything sound so simple and logical… Did you steal those lines from Gen- Master Koon?” He teased and it was Rex’s turn to snort.
“I have my own good ideas from time to time you know. I definitely didn’t get them from my own General after all.” He huffed but his expression twisted at the reminder of Skywalker and Wolffe wrapped an arm around his shoulder and squeezed letting Rex lean his head against him.
After Palpatine had been dealt with, Skywalker had pretty much lost his mind. He wanted Fox and Cody tried for treason even with news that they had saved Obi-Wan’s life and that the Chancellor had been a Sith available. When the Council refused he had planned to go after them himself but he had gone to ask Fives for help and Fives had commed Rex who had in turn warned Fox and Cody and got help from the other Jedi.
The confrontation had been nasty because somehow Senator Amidala had found out and showed up to confront her husband and a whole load of new information had been spilled about Anakin having killed an entire tribe back on Tatooine before the war and Padme helping him over it up. Skywalker had accused her of sleeping with Kenobi, force choked her, and then started fighting Mace and Kit who had shown up to stop him.
Rex had managed to draw his attention when he realized that his General’s power was even too much for the pair of Jedi to handle on their own and Fives had shot him with three stun blasts before he went down.
Wolffe had been helping with a relief mission and hadn’t heard anything until Rex commed him later and told him everything through his tears. They didn’t find out until later that Padme had gone into an early labor due to the stress and given birth to twins. Once she had recovered, Padme had apparently planned on giving the pair up for adoption since Anakin had been arrested and she had been forced to give up her seat in the Senate as her own crimes came to light while Anakin’s were investigated.
Obi-Wan was a mess but as Anakin’s once legal guardian and a close friend of Padme’s he had offered to take the kids in once it was known that Padme’s family weren’t interested in claiming the children born of their child’s lies. Alpha-17 and Fordo had both stepped up and offered to help.
Wolffe hadn’t heard anything about it until he had returned from the scouting mission he was on with Plo looking at different planets that might work for the clones. Rex had nearly tackled him off the platform as he was leaving the ship and started crying until Wolffe had been able to get him somewhere private and coax the story from him.
“Commanders Wolffe and Rex?” The receptionist calling them dragged Wolffe from his memories and he and Rex stood to walk back over to the counter where they were directed to walk through a door to the right and then down the hall to the last door. The office they arrived at belonged to the Besalisk Jedi who was dealing with their case, Master Arlena. “Wolffe, Rex! Good to see you! Come in and sit! I have good news!” She said using a pair of arms to guide them into the room while another closed the door behind them.
“We were approved?” Rex asked and she nodded with a wide grin.
“You were! Obviously things are different for the clone cadets and how adoption is working for them especially for other clones and Jedi who are interested but everything went through smoothly. I have some papers for you to add to your files but after you leave here tonight you can pick Threes up from Sneko Clan and take him home. I already called ahead and let the creche master know.” She assured them and started to spread out some papers across her desk explaining they had Threes get a full medical work up and had all his information available for them, and it was in the Temple’s system.
“Obviously Threes’ disabilities means he has regular check ups but I’m sure you’re used to dealing with Wolffe’s own appointments. He’s already enrolled in classes so you won’t have to worry about his schooling. The first home check will be next month but you both have all the numbers on this page here if you need any help at all before then. Remember there’s no shame in asking for help but letting issues fester will only lead to them getting worse with time. Do you have any questions for me?” She asked and Wolffe looked at Rex who was looking over the documents they’d be taking with them, eyes looking a little red.
“No ma’am. We’re excited to show Threes his new home. Our batchmates are already planning a party if Threes agrees to it. Everyone is really excited to meet him.” Wolffe said and she stood.
“In that case, congratulations and don’t let me keep you! Reach out for anything, I’m happy to help and it’s been a joy helping you both and Threes find each other.” She said shaking their hands as she ushered them out at a friendly pace but Wolffe knew that with the number of cadets they were still trying to get homed and how bust the office was she likely didn’t have time to dawdle.
Leaving the office felt like a blur and soon he and Rex were just standing in the middle of a hallway in the temple staring at each other.
“We… that… Did we really?” Rex asked as the tears finally spilled over even as his lips kept twitching up into a grin and Wolffe found his own smile catching before he dragged Rex in for a desperate kiss.
“We’re parents now. We have our own kid. Threes gets to come home with us!” He cheered and Rex started laughing breathlessly along with him.
“We should go get him then! Classes will be out in another hour. We can surprise him and stop by the shops to get ice cream on the way home.” Rex suggested and Wolffe nodded both of them holding hands as they hurried off toward where they knew Threes’ clan was so they could collect him after his class.
(line break)
Threes bit his lip as he hugged his plush loth-wolf tightly. It had been a gift from Commander Wolffe after the second time they met and it was so soft and warm it helped when Threes got overwhelmed. He especially liked that Rex had helped him switch out one of the wolf’s eyes and sew the fabric so it looked like Commander Wolffe’s eye did.
The day had been rough from the start. Firstly one of his clan mates had stolen his loth-wolf from his that morning and refused to give it back until Threes had gone to tell the creche master about it then they had spent the day calling him a tattle-tale and giving him a grumpy look since they had gotten a talking to. After mid-meal no one had wanted him on their team for their sword fighting games because of his messed up hands so he had ended up sitting alone in the garden until it was time to return to classes. Then he had to take the class with his least favorite teacher, Mr Frellin. He wasn’t mean but Threes felt like he had some sort of grudge against him because he always insisted on Threes having to write all his assignments by hand. Technically Threes could write on his own thanks to the surgeries that had been done and the fact he did have three usable fingers on each hand but it caused his hands to cramp up if he had to do it for long stretches of time and it hurt.
His other teachers let him dictate his assignments to helper droids where it would get printed out instead. He didn’t understand why Mr Frellin insisted on making things harder for him when there was an easier way but the man insisted he was doing it for Threes’ own good and that he’d thank him for it in the future.
Then as they were walking back to their rooms the same bully from earlier had finally poked the wrong nerve reminding Threes that Rex and Wolffe hadn’t been by to visit in over a month now and that they had probably gotten bored of him. Threes had tackled him and they had fought until the Creche master dragged them apart and sent both of them to their rooms where a nurse had eventually come to check on him and then check on the bully to make sure neither of them had been badly hurt.
“Well we were going to get ice cream but that might be considered reinforcing bad behavior.” Rex’s voice broke through Threes’ moping and he immediately jumped up to throw his arms around Rex and hug him.
“You saw the kid’s form Rex, we should be encouraging a good tackle like that and it’s not like I haven’t done worse to Fox in our own scuffles. At least he didn’t bite the other kid.” Wolffe cut in and wrapped Threes in another hug from behind.
“You came back!” He said squeezing as tightly as he could and Rex ran his fingers through Threes’ hair gently.
“Of course we did, did you think we wouldn’t? We told you we were going to adopt you. Sorry it took so long. The data-forms were all made for natborns and took twice as long to process as we expected.” Rex sighed.
“I wasn’t sure if you really meant it. Lots of people say things and don’t mean them.” Threes murmured softly. Alpha-17 had promised that Threes wouldn’t get separated from his batch after all and yet Ka’ra Squad had been separated as soon as they were all brought to the temple.
“We meant it, kid. We’re actually here because it’s all done. You’re coming home with us, if you haven’t changed your mind that is?” Wolffe asked and Threes looked up at him with wide hopeful eyes.
“Really?! I… I get to go with you?” He asked and Rex nodded with a smile.
“As of today we are officially your buir’e. You’re stuck with us. Unfortunately for you Wolffe snores so snuggling in our bed in the middle of the night won’t help you sleep. But he can make a mean hoth-chocolate so I forgive him.” Rex teased and Wolffe rolled his eyes.
Threes moved to latch onto Wolffe in a hug next and Rex started moving around to gather up Threes things from the room packing them in a bag he had brought with him.
“We’re going out for ice cream to celebrate and then we’ll get you settled in your new room. Since its Primeday you have a few days before you need to be in class again. Our vode want to meet you too if you’re okay with it. Cody and my twin Fox are here for the next few weeks visiting so they offered to stop by for a little party but we wanted to make sure you were okay with it first.
“Cody? You mean like… the Commander Cody of the 7th sky? Of course I want to meet him! He’s the coolest clone in the whole GAR! He punched Grievous in the face and helped kill the Sith lord!Who wouldn’t want to meet Cody?!” He asked bouncing now and both Rex and Wolffe shared a look Threes didn’t understand over his head but he didn’t care. He got to meet Cody!
“Way to make the rest of us feel loved kiddo.” Wolffe huffed and Threes rolled his eyes at him.
“I mean you and Rex are cool too but Commander Cody is a legend!” He continued to babble away scooping up his loth-wolf to hug as Rex finished packing and slung the bag over his shoulder.
“I’m sure Cody will love you too twerp. He’s actually a nerd though so don’t set your hopes too high. His name isn’t Cody for no reason.” Rex huffed a laugh as they started leading Threes out.
“Isn’t it like another version of Kote? Like Glory?” Threes asked and Wolffe started laughing while Rex’s lips twitched.
“He might tell you that but it started off as Codes because he kept whispering the reg codes in his sleep.” Wolffe told him while Threes gaped at him.
“What?! No way! That’s… so lame!” He squeaked, not sure if they were telling him the truth or not but just happy to get to spend time with them again… his parents. The thought made him beam and hug Wolffe again, stopping their movement for a moment before Wolffe just scooped him up under one arm and kept moving, making Threes giggle.
“You won’t make me late for ice cream kid, not even with hugs.” Wolffe hummed and Rex shook his head fondly.
“We have all the time in the galaxy now. You can’t be late when there’s no deadline.” Rex pointed out and Threes felt like his heart was going to explode from just how happy that thought made him.
They had forever now.

Was looking for a specific piece of art on Viv's old tumblr. Couldn't find it but did find other interesting stuff there.
https://vivziepop.tumblr.com/post/104697106674/vivzcast-angel-dust-1940s-i-think-my-hiatus
Angel's old info sheet. Kinda wild.
https://vivziepop.tumblr.com/post/97419443439/so-for-the-die-young-film-credits-im-doing
Viv drew a wolf version of Kyra back in the day. Kyra also apparently did guest animation on Die Young. Interesting and kinda sad knowing how bad things turned out there.
https://vivziepop.tumblr.com/post/74259354025/ke-ha-is-beautiful-and-perfect-and-i-hope-she
This is where the whole 'Viv saying Kesha's weight is beautiful' thing comes from. It's more a bad choice of words than outright offensive tbh. Just figured I'd show the source.
https://vivziepop.tumblr.com/post/64320591129/cause-i-randomly-got-in-the-mood-to-finalize-more
Zoophobia era angel. Generic but better than calling them Pussila and making them demons in different colors.
https://vivziepop.tumblr.com/post/82195957339/figured-wouldnt-hurt-to-post-this-up-here-too
and finally her only adoption sheet. Kinda weird but interesting to see a bunch of designs in a row. Don't understand her pricing system tbh. Also there's no way some of the 'credit' line isn't indirectly talking about Kendraws.
This is all fascinating stuff. That angel design is definitely generic, but still worlds better than what we ultimately got, and also interesting that they seem to be nonbinary.
Also Vivzie, if someone adopted that $40 generic purple fox and made a famous indie cartoon with it and didn't credit you for its non-design, you'd be the first to complain.

*grabby hands*
gimme more dmc Pokémon shenanigans I know you want tooooooo
ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE
Dante has more dark types than everybody else. This isn't because he actively seeks them out, it's because he treats them far better than most people. They then get attached and just live in the DMC office. This group includes Tyranitar, Houndoom, a Litten, and the wild Galarian Zigzagoon that live in the trash cans. He also gifts the befriended pokemon to his friends sometimes if he thinks they suit them better.
Kyrie's Sylveon ends up having eggs, so she give Dante and Vergil Eevee eggs! They have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Vergil's Eevee is also the first pokemon outside of Salamence he has ever owned, so he's... struggling. They eventually evolve into a very cheery Espeon (D) and a very prim and proper Glaceon (V).
Nero only had Dreepy for a long time, but once he officially joined the Order Credo gifted him a Rookidee. Kyrie helped pick the best one for him, so she was mainly a gift from both of them. Post DMC 5 she's a Corvisquire, but Nero feels like she'll evolve into Corviknight fairly soon.
A Nymble accidentally got hit by the Van once. Nico felt so bad that she nursed it back to health and adopted it. The little thing now hides in random nooks and crannies just to jumpscare Nero at the worst possible times.
One day (a little bit after DMC 3) Lady walked into the office and Dante had a Poochyena hanging out of his arms. He handed it off to Lady, fell onto the couch, and passed out.
Vergil and Nero went on a mission post-DMC5 and found an Electrike that was hurt by demons on the job. Nero ended up taking it home, and Vergil unintentionally used it as an excuse to talk to Nero. Manetric is now a very loyal and good boy, and often ends up in dog piles with Houndoom and an annoyed Glaceon.
Patty found a baby Sandile underneath DMC's floorboards when Dante was in Hell post-DMC2. Dante has absolutely no idea how it got there, but hey, Krokorok gives Patty scary dog privileges so he's cool with it.
Speaking of DMC 2, Lucia's partner is an Absol! She kinda just showed up one day and didn't leave when Lucia was a child.
Gloria introduced her partner as a Liepard, but he is actually a Zorua. Dante gave him to Trish after he caught him stealing his pizza. Trish secretly thought that was hilarious and immediately bonded with the fox over their ability to disguise themselves.
Nina gave Patty a Fidough and she absolutely loves Dante, so much so that Patty has used her as an excuse to visit him. He doesn't mind.
Dante gave Nero a Carvanha alongside the DMC sign when he officially joined the business. Carvanha usually stays at home with Kyrie, and he adores her and the kids quite a lot. Lady congratulated Nero on receiving the official seal of approval for the business. She wasn't talking about the sign.
And finally, the third Nelo battle was much more intense, and a desperate Bagon tried so hard to get his partner back that he evolved in Sheilgon. In the end, it didn't work. Decades would pass before he would come back, but he did in the end. That's all that really matters, to Salamence.

After rambling paragraphs in your comment section I have come on Tumblr to write more lmao. Seriously I wrote 4 journal pages of thoughts about your au it's very good!
Ok so first, I love how the fight dynamic is: jump Fox when he is being stupid -> 17 breaks up fight -> profit. Except now everything's all wrong so they had to call 17 over to fix things in post. Just hilarious and good continuity.
Your manipulative Fox is excellent show don't tell. It's honestly really hard to write a smart dude without being basically psychic or actually failing a lot. So like even though a lot of people love manipulative Fox it's hard to show in such a low stakes fashion. Usually wr just see him blackmailing people or otherwise winning instead of slowing gathering intel and influencing someone. The pacing and POV just makes it work.
Ace!Fox and Allo!Bly solidarity is hilarious. It cracks me up that the Kaminoans somehow didn't realize that most of the clones are ace spectrum. Like i question if the whole defective CT for CC batches worked even once as intended when every CC is only interested in adoption. "Natborns are obsessed with sex" indeed. Fox knows what's up.
Fox being more genuine with Bly and 17 and even Laruk was adorable. Especially with 17 where we got to realize that all the cadet style military discipline is affectionate with 17. Feral!Fox and his barely older dad my beloved.
I love how the deterministic gene editing totally matters but also doesn't matter much at all. Like all it really did is make a hierarchical family dynamic. Alphas will absolutely parent solo because they are competitive. CCs are big on being at the middle level of parenting and ori'vod-ing because they are only as competitive (for affection) as necessary to get the primary position in a cuddle pile. CTs are totally comfy with looking after younger siblings while still being looked after by the CCs. Ultimately they are all chomping at the bit to create a found family irrespective of genes.
Satine and Fox are so interesting because Satine cares that he is bleeding because of her principles not because she is being kind. Fox likewise pretends to be nice constantly so that she doesn't die on his watch and he gets blamed. Like him expressing understanding over natborn women being uncomfortable with men is just so he can do his job. He gets it but he doesn't really care about a stranger's hypothetical trauma.
Caring about your appearance is absolutely not a baseline experience for clones. Choosing to deviate from regulation at all is a huge expression of individuality even if you still present as a man.
Also like, Satine they are not soldiers by choice. Why would they have a culture that values violence above all else when they don't choose that life. As Fox was explaining in the creche, violence between vode is about love and survival, bot bloodthirsty bloodthirstyness or glory.
Also yeah, Satine will be totally offended by Fox's philosophy on death and murder. "The only deaths I care about are my brothers and they die all the time. If the purge was real I would fix the overcrowding in the senate dome no problem."
lol. They had a Method. It’s always a struggle when your younger brother is both smarter and dumber than you are. Usually beating him up and getting lecture by the only person he listens to is effective but then they tried to beat him up without Seventeen being there and it just didn’t work as well.
Ahh. Thank you. 😭 Fox is so fun as an unreliable narrator because he’s being purposeful about what he tells people when and even what he lets himself thing about but it makes me so nervous that I’m showing too much of my hand lol.
😂😂 I’m just too obsessed with the idea of the clones being ace mostly because I’m ace and so I love the idea of a culture where being allo is met with confusion. I don’t think the Kaminoans thought about sex drive at all until the trainer pops up saying it’s a problem. They give the CCs a CT and they seem more pliable so I guess it must have worked. Meanwhile the CCs are losing their minds over having a new tubie to take care of and mother hen. The CTs on the other hand are dubious but willing to be babied bc they’ve gone from living under the threat of decom to being protected by the most feral clones they’ve ever met. 😂
Seventeen acts a lot more aggressive than he really is. He’s not against thrashing his kids to make them behave but he always does it with affection. I just love to think about like Kenobi and company realizing their commanders and troopers are actually the semi domesticated version when they start digging into things and see the kinda shit that Fox and the Corries pull off unsupervised.
That is such a perfect description. 😭 the Aureks are extremely possessive and don’t really trust each other while the CCs don’t really trust outsiders. The CTs on the other hand are comparatively easy going despite what natborns think. They see these men doing crazy things on the battle and think they’re insane but actually CTs are very affectionate and willing to adopt everyone into their found families. They’re just also more willing to listen to a no. Aureks Will Forcibly adopt anyone from the younger series and CCs will latch onto anyone and dig their teeth in until they’ve subdued their targets.
Satine is so much fun to play against Fox because they’re kind of the same subset of person but with different ideals. They both come across as very helpful and caring and it’s not that they aren’t but they aren’t altruistic—even though Satine values altruism, everything she does is to further her ideals and people so it’s not actually good for good’s sake. Satine cares about Fox’s wellbeing because she feels responsible for him and Fox cares about Satine’s wellbeing because he is responsible for her. She wouldn’t be more sad about him dying than she would any rando and he would say good riddance to her if his family could get away with it.
The clones in other battalions get to play around with their appearance at least, but Fox can’t let his Corries even do that. Too much hinges on them being interchangeable. Those with identifying scars get pulled off of Senate duty and when he got his facial scar he had a whole breakdown because it meant he couldn’t step in and pretend to the others anymore. So that means what little individuality he can give to them is extremely precious and if that’s just which pronouns and names being used, he will fight for them. If they are already too identifiable with scars, he lets them grow out their hair and dye it as long as they leave enough undyed roots so it can be shaved off in an emergency. Makeup and nail polish and accessories are shared freely and used by everyone regardless of gender identity within the barracks.
The love/violence and inaction/hate culture clash is so fun to me. Like hurting your brother so that the trainer doesn’t do it is love as far as the vode are concerned. Standing aside and not correcting a mistake is setting your brother up for a decom. Satine’s preconceived notions about war and the reasons natborns fight doesn’t fit when these are just men who aren’t allowed to anything else. Like sure they enjoy killing sometimes. They enjoy getting a job done and they’re desensitized to murder. It has nothing to do with the actual killing. Later this will be highlightened when we get to see Fox doing the bare minimum to protect a natborn compared to Rex, Cody, Wolffe, and Bly all nearly killing themselves to protect their generals. Inaction vs action is a huge thing for them. Fox quite quit his job years ago. He’s just keeping his men alive at this point. Fuck everyone else.
Fox really said if the terrorists wanted to be harder to catch that would be great actually. Oh no he’s accidentally dropping the plans to the senate dome. If he could guarantee that no one would be alive to retaliate afterwards, he’d commit a murder spree, take his troopers, and book it out of there.

If you want to pls tell me the wildest story you remember reading on samequizy pretty please.....
okay i'm not going to lie i blocked out like. so much of that time period of my life from memory. but i think the wildest story i DO remember, actually quite vividly because it did Something to my brain, wasn't actually a fanfiction, but it was in fact original fiction built like a quiz, except there was only like... one option for each box. like there was no choice or even the illusion of it. it was one box you could click and that's it bestie. looking back i wonder why they didn't just write a novel, but i digress??
anyways from what i remember it was a story about a lady who kind of alice in wonderland style landed in a magical world, and then turned into a fox, and then some guy adopted her while she was a fox?? and then it turned out that shapeshifting is illegal in fantasyland so they had to run away together and like the guy knew she's a fox (she was a fox the entire time) but was in love with her anyways, but he can't marry her because she's a fox. he was a wizard btw. THEN like halfway through another guy showed up i think (???) and he was also a shapeshifter and they started fighting over her? and then she ran away and pretended to be a normal fox and actually got WITH a normal fox and they had kids and everything (it was a big timeskip) but then she outlived her fox husband and also her kids and she was alone again and that's when the wizard guy found her again and said that he was looking for a spell to turn her back into a human for this entire time. and then he turns her back into a human and it turns out they're both old as fuck but they get married. and then it ended. and i still don't know what the fuck the moral of that was but it's the only thing that imprinted on my brain from that time period of my life

Hello I am The Filthy Enabler. I Enable the creative types to break into a ramble about something they have been itching to work on. Golly gee it seems like someone has an AU rattling around in their brain. It's a stroke of genius that Heket's crown ended up in the hands of The Teeth From The Darkness. But pray tell, why does the fox wait? Will the fox wear it himself? Or does he search for someone who would be willing? Hohoho!
Tee hee! Tee hee hee!
Well, I mentioned in the post actually, that eventually he passes it on to Deckard, Star's sibling.
Tumblr media
Let me use this opportunity to explain a little bit more about Deckard in detail, though!
Deckard is Star's twin sibling, and they used to be pretty close--Deckard even initially joined Star as an 'apprentice' to Clauneck. (They used to be known as 'Azazel,' but have been going by their new name for some reason. They'll only respond to Azazel if Star is the one who says it.)
However, unlike Star, who took the wiles of fate in stride, Deckard didn't quite like the idea of fate being predetermined, and destiny being something you couldn't shift and change of your own will.
So they vanished a few years before the culling started, and Star hadn't seen them since.
When the culling started, they disguised themself, and anyone that tried to insist they were a lamb received a very thorough convincing at the end of a dagger. Though... At that point, Deckard had gone off the deep end, and some would possibly go so far as to say they're not a lamb anymore.
Deckard's mentality boiled down to a black-and-white view of 'eat or be eaten.' Is it really a lamb's destiny to be the prey? To always fall under the fangs of others? Deckard refused to believe so, and thus adopted a very intense 'eat or be eaten' creed.
They saw the bishops attempting to kill all the lambs as the bishops 'eating,' and thus determined they would 'eat' back. The way they did this... Was that after Star had killed each bishop and carved out their hearts, Deckard would show up and eat the remains of their corpse.
Sort of a twisted way of erasing what remained of them as well as gaining their 'power' through consumption, if you will.
With their mental state as it were, they weren't aware Star was the one who had taken on the Red Crown, and wouldn't recognize her as their sister until they actually met in person, but the familial relation wouldn't do anything to lessen their desire to complete the chain: "I wonder what the flesh of a new god would taste like!" and all that.
It would result in them stealing her heart with the intention of eating it, BUT she would eventually get it back.
However, due to them being family and also, you know, the only other lamb left as far as they both know and Star having this intense need to cling on to whatever remains of her old life, Star doesn't kill them, instead locking them up while she figures out if there's any way she can snap them out of it.
It. Doesn't really work, because one day they go missing, and next thing you know, they pop back up again, this time with the Yellow Crown, oops!
But yeah that's where the Yellow Crown ends up because the Fox takes a good look at Deckard and decides "Yeah this one is all kinds of fucked up we'll go with them."

How To Tame A Sorcerer (59)
Series Master list
Tumblr media
"Ya know, back in my day," Shippo drawls, head tilting towards Nanami. "There were a lot more orgies on Halloween. It's a damn shame that people today just want to spend their time digging up dead bodies when they could be getting their thrills fucking a demon or three." Shippo shrugs, shakes his head, and mutters about how backwards society is these days.
Nanami curls his lips back in disgust.
Satoru pinches the bridge of his nose and bites his tongue. What he is not going to do is laugh at Shippo's antics.
There is a time and place for everything, he reminds himself.
If his old man could see him now… Eh, on second thought, he probably would've hated his old man if he knew him. Probably a good thing he is dead. Satoru crosses his fingers behind his back. He hopes his little ankle biter does not think the same about him.
"Who are you?" Nanami asks, crossing his arms over his chest. He has bags under his eyes that are darker than normal. The recent events must be taking a toll on the poor ex salary man turned sorcerer. For now, the station is relatively quiet. The medical team made quick work of retrieving Mechamaru and Miwa's bodies. Only a few civilians were traumatized. Not too bad, in Satoru's opinion.
"Shippo, Gome-chan's adopted son." Satoru pats Shippo's head and rustles with his hair. Shippo bares his teeth up at him, which just makes Satoru smile even more. Nothing like pissing Shippo off to start off his work day. "And I guess now my son by default. Heh, that means you have to listen to what I say, Shippo-chan." Satoru pokes Shippo's cheek with his other hand, laughing at Shippo's half-hearted attempts to swipe at him.
Sue him, the fox is growing on him. Though Yakeru still pisses him off. That fox only gives Kagome straight answers.
"I'm so sick of your bullshit." Nanami turns on his heel and walks out of the station. Satoru frowns. Why does Nanami never believe him? Sure, he's played a couple of pranks here and there, but he's actually serious this time.
Ugh, whatever. Nanami will be back telling him how wrong he was for not believing in him. Err, maybe not. Nanami would probably cut off his own tongue before admitting such a thing.
Honestly, at this point, it is just rude.
"I think you pissed him off," Shippo quips.
"Nah, that's just how Nanami shows how much he cares for me." Satoru drops his hand and presses his lips into a firm line. "Now what the hell is going on?" Shippo was supposed to be working his actual job today, and yet here he is. Speaking of actual jobs, what the hell does Shippo do? It seems like every day he's there with him at work, making commentary, picking up a couple missions here and there, but never pressed for time.
"Sesshomaru is on his way over. Said the air didn't feel right today." Shippo shrugs. "There's been some unrest lately on our side of the tracks." Shippo pulls out a sucker from his pocket, all casual, as though he isn't dropping a bombshell on him. Shippo hums and starts walking, following the path Nanami took. His red hair is stark against the green jacket and denim jeans.
Seriously, what the hell does Shippo do for him to be dressed so casually all the time? Even he wears a uniform for work.
"Kagome is not to come here. He should know not to bring her here if there is trouble brewing." So, help him if Sesshomaru brings Kagome to the battlefield. A battle with Sesshomaru may cause some casualties, but that's a risk he'll take.
"Relax, he's not gonna bring her here. InuYasha gets to spend the day taking her around Tokyo or wherever." Shippo waves as if blowing off his concerns. Like they are nothing more than trivial. "At least it's not Koga showing her around. Then you'd have to rescue her from some cave. The wolves love her."
His heart plummets to his feet. Letting InuYasha into his home to have a conversation is one thing. Letting InuYasha take Kagome around town is a whole other thing. Who the hell is supervising this outing?
"Why would anyone need to supervise them? Jealous?" Shippo's green eyes glint with mischief, tail swishing faster. "Scared InuYasha is going to remind her of all the good times they had?" Shippo chortles.
Shit. He didn't mean to say that out loud.
"Come on," he says, taking the lead. Mentally, he berates himself for allowing his guard to drop. Shippo is still a demon, a fox one at that, and showing any kind of emotion must be like an aphrodisiac to them. It's a wonder that Kagome is still so nice when she's surrounded by such blood thirsty creatures.
Not that he's any better. You have to have some screws loose to do this kind of job, but he would like to believe that he is slightly less blood thirsty than them.
"You smell that?" Shippo crunches his sucker and sticks the rest into his pocket. At least he isn't littering. A woman giggles as she passes by Shippo, who winks at her as she walks by.
"Smell what?" Satoru sniffs, though all he can smell is the distinct smell of too many people bunched together and the various smells of coffee shops and food places alike. The day is, for what it's worth, nice out. Sunny, but not the humid that makes him want to go back home.
Scratch that, everything makes him want to go back and home and spend time with Kagome. With so much horrible shit he sees daily, going home to someone as bright as her is like coming across a buffet after a long fast.
"Blood." Shippo sighs, his shoulders sagging with the motion as though the scent of blood is such a bother to him. "A lot of it. Want to do a countdown until all hell breaks loose?"
"… No?" Satoru ranks a hand through his hair and discreetly tries to smell the air. Nope. Still can't smell this blood Shippo is going on about.
"One." Shippo holds up a finger, a maniacal grin on his face. Shippo's tail swishes back and forth. Another woman walks by and giggles.
Satoru reaches for his phone and dials Yaga's number. Better to be cautious. If it turns out to be nothing, then he could just make up a joke.
"Two." Shippo points two fingers towards the west.
People start running. Yaga picks up on the second ring. The screams mingle together to create a harmony of chaos. His ears are hurting from the screams.
"Three." Shippo presses three fingers to his lips and pretends to be shocked.
A demon the size of a small building bursts from the west, flames licking at his body as he bellows. A handful of humans in both hands, blood dripping down his arms. Parts of a building hang limply from its curved horns, and he is as green as the small patches of grass by Satoru's feet.
"Gojo? Gojo? The hell did you call me for?" Yaga's voice rings out, but another explosion draws his attention to the north.
"Aw, man, I didn't sense that one."
Satoru shoots Shippo a look, though with his eyes covered, the look is wasted. "We got bigger problems at Shibuya." He hangs up. "Sesshomaru say when he was coming by?"
There are too many civilians around. It would be easier if they were in a more secluded area like out in the country where he could just use his domain expansion or not worry about civilians getting in the way. Shippo could get hurt, but he's sure Kagome would understand.
"Nah, just said he be by." Shippo shrugs and fiddles with his pocket.
"Alright, so what you going to hit them with a rose whip?" Satoru aims a red reversal at the large demon. Not that he has to aim too hard with how big of a target that thing is.
"Rose whip?" Shippo sounds scandalized. "I'll have you know I am a sophisticated fighter. That is a silver fox move." Shippo sniffs and pulls out a spinner.
This fox cannot be serious. That's how he's been taking down special grades? With a child's toy?
A person runs towards them, screaming from the flames burning away at their clothes, and collapses at their feet. The smell of burned flesh is one that he will never get over.
"It's never too late to go back to having orgies for Halloween," Shippo sing songs, tossing his spinner at a disfigured human. The spinner gets bigger until it spins out of control and goes after the next disfigured human. Satoru slides his blindfold off. One demon is one thing, two is an annoyance, but curses mixed in to the mix are just pissing him off now.
"Gojo! What the hell?" Nanami comes running towards them, knocking back any poor cursed human that gets in his way. Well, poor might not be the right word to describe the cursed humans. Putting them out of their misery is the humane thing to do.
"Ooh, I'm so happy you are still alive Nanami!" Shippo chirps, recalling his spinner that is now back to normal size. For his part, Nanami doesn't even twitch at Shippo's comment. "I bet Kagome could help those humans if she was here, but maybe not. It is an annoying amount of them."
"I don't know. I called Yaga for backup." Satoru bites back a groan. "Tell me those are not giant insects and the answer is no, Shippo, Kagome is not coming here to maybe purify some cursed humans."
Cool, he's got disfigured humans that look exactly like the sorcerers from the Exchange event, so one of the disaster curses is probably here. He's got more demons popping up, fucking up the building structures, and now there are giant insects swarming everywhere.
It feels like a free for all. Now all he needs is a bunch of wannabes soldiers joining in.
"Is this your doing?" Nanami turns on Shippo and points at the chaos. Not even a single strand of hair is out of place. Satoru can't help but wonder what kind of gel Nanami uses to keep his hair in place like that. There's not even a speck of blood on Nanami's coat. If he didn't have his infinity, Satoru might be a just tad bit jealous.
"Please, I'm a fox." Shippo dusts off his jacket and pulls out another sucker, unconcerned about all the innocent people running around them. "As if I would work with some curses," Shippo mutters under his breath.
"That means—"
"He's Kagome's son. He wouldn't do this." Satoru takes a step forward, needing to do more action and less talking. They do not have time to wait for reinforcements. He cannot go all out because of all the civilians in the way, but the lives he can save, he will. "I have trust in Gome-chan. Shippo wouldn't do something to like this."
"Stop it, I might tear up," Shippo yells out after him. "Wait, can you stop and pose? I want to take a picture of this moment."
Satoru sticks his middle finger up in response.
"There are people dying," Nanami scolds.
"There are always people dying. You humans need to get your shit together," Shippo retorts.
Just once, he would like a holiday where shit does not go down. An insect casually picks up a small child, yanking the boy from his mother, who screams hysterically and tries to hold on, but loses her grip.
Sigh. He must be asking for too much.

Letters from Fundy and Purpled to Tommy
For a little context, this is a Butterfly Reign AU where Fundy is the crown prince instead of Tommy, who works as a trade supervisor for the king. Purpled is Fundy person guard in the Antarctic Empire. Most of stuff regarding Tommy is vaguely canon compliant, but not all of it. After quite a bit of stuff happening, the trio run away to their own kingdoms that have basically pulled the adoption card. Essmpi for Tommy, and Dogwarts for Fundy and Purpled.
--------------
Dear Prince Tommy, if that is your title still.
How are you? It's been almost a year since we ran away, and I have heard nothing from you. Purpled is sad :(
We both ended up working in the castle, me in the royal library and Purpled as a guard, so we both had our strengths in play.
Yet I'm the crown prince again. Ren called me up to ask me about it, and I said yes. It's strange. Officially, I am king Ren's nephew now, but as basically anyone in the castle knows, I am his son at heart. Honestly, I did miss this. Now that I'm not doing all the work, it is quite nice.
Sir Etho has been giving him training so that in cause of another Quackity-type incident, I will be able to hold my own. He's pretty cool actually, not as scary as I thought. I think I'm going to try hanging out with him more.
It's funny, I can barely recognize myself in the mirror now. My hair is long and let down, I have a pair of glasses that are mostly for show, ink stains that I'm not sure will come out, and my outfit is so different. It's red and white, with gold and light blue accents.
I'm writing to tell you that King Philza and Prince Wilbur are coming to my kingdom in a few weeks. Don't know if you'll get this letter in time, but do not worry, I can hold my own, if they even recognize me.
And I haven't even said the best part; I'm not the only hybrid. I don't have to hide my wings. There's three other full blooded avians in the king's court, and a few more in the staff and in the larger kingdom. I've found three half avians, six blazebornes, a starborn of all things, two slimes, at least five phantoms, a merling, four felines, and two foxes in the higher ranked place staff alone! And so many more outside of the castle and just existing in the kingdom.
I think I like it here.
What about you? Is Essmpi treating you well? Write back soon!
Crown Prince Fundy of the Kingdom of Dogwarts
--------------
Dear Tommy,
I hope you know that Fundy is the only reason I didn't insult you. He's insisting that I must be nice. How boring.
I've once again become his personal guard, and let me tell you it is hard work!
Half the time I just want to feed him to the creepers that roam the kingdom boarders, but I'm stuck being nice.
That was half a joke. Fundy is always running off, but he is truly happy here. I don't think I've ever seen him so carefree and... young. I think our time in the Antarctic Empire made us forget that we are kids still.
I still look just like I did before we ran away, and I am happy about it. If I was different looking, I'd storm off right away. I like being who I am, even if that means I am now human.
Fundy loves how many inhumans are in the staff. So do I. Did I ever tell you that I was once a half avian? My wings were cut when I was five.
I'm over it now, but it is so nice to see people like me enjoy their freedom.
I guess I should tell you about being a guard again, but I don't really want to right now. If when you write back, you want me to tell you about it, I will.
I don't have much more to say, so goodbye, and may Essempi treat you better then our last kingdom did.
Purpled, person guard of the Crown Prince Fundy.

Personal opinions on SW Modern au - Clones and Fetts
One thing i feel like people write which i disagree on is Jango being an amazing dad to 5+ kids. I have 4 siblings and can guarantee that 99% of the time having more than four kids will result in some sort of inability to meet the emotional need of all of those children. It gets even harder to do so with even more kids and when their ages are closer together or with neurodivergent children. Im autistic and had four parents due to divorce and siblings ten or more years older than me and never really felt my emotional needs being understood.
While Jango wouldn't have been the worse parent, he certainly would have been an amazing parent to so many kids that he is often characterized as having in Modern AUs. This could also prominently show in the older potential kids like most of CCs we see(think Cody, Wolffe, Fox, Bly etc). I think this could work best with Cody due to him being described as "greedy" by Fox, Alpha-17, and himself in legends. Instead of "greedily" wanting to be more than a clone, it could wanting the best for the younger siblings who didn't have an older sibling to look for them or take care of them. Maybe where other CCs would have accepted their bad childhood and tried to move on with their lives, Cody could insist on them helping the youngers than what the other olders were trying to do. Or a modern AU Cody would be the want working harder than everyone to get them all out. But i dont think he would be the one to leave and never return/no contact with siblings because he's also shown to do his best with so many troops under his command as a marshal commander to remember names and genuinely cares for them all.
Then the younger the siblings get they may have some other vision of Jango to the olders. The olders view Jango as he was to them(absent father who very well could have been figuring everything out still, may have handed them over to multiple babysitters in a short period of time before he deems them old enough to care for themselves(another person experience as a "mature child" left home alone or with barely older siblings often before i hit preteens)), but as time goes on he may try to insert himself back into their lives. So imagine whoever you want as one of the youngest siblings, they would have an idea of jango of dad that their older siblings don't like, is trying to be in their lives but the people who are more prominent in their lives are refusing. Then you get to Boba(who's obviously the youngest sibling lets be real) and Jango is there when hes just born, takes him everywhere, the older siblings have no part in his life. He would grow up without their influence and may only really form an opinion of them based on the fact that they don't like his dad. Who has been a constant in his life since forever.
Another odd thing i've seen written into Modern Au Fett Families is Jango being homophobic or transphobic. I personally think this makes zero sense from what we know of Mandalorian culture (even if Mandalore does exist i think he would follow the same values). Mando'a is an entire gender neutral language, which leads to implication that there were no two genders that would have been said to have to be together, and "Foundlings are the future" a valuing of adoption so two genders to reproduce doesn't make sense there either. I think most people write it to give the siblings an excuse to hate Jango but there are far more ways for someone to be a bad parent that would result in no contact than straight bigotry.
Another idea I don't see as much is the sheer amount of children Jango could have. I've seen amounts from two(cody and rex) with entirely absent Jango and taking care of themselves with Fives and Echo being Rex's school friends, to over 15 all living under the same roof and pretty amazing Jango. These too extreme are both really interesting. But I feel the most interesting would be a large amount of kids with absent Jango. You could even have the kids be raised by other family members and still have a similar if not larger impact on the sheer amount of kids. For example, Fives and Echo raised mainly by Ninety-Nine, who could be a kinda uncle or distant relative in a Modern AU.
anyways thats all my own opinion from personal experiences with more than average number siblings and being neurodivergent because the Fetts are a neurodivergent family.
ill probably write and post my own on here and Ao3 but im having trouble with some characterizations.
