Bedtime - Lin the Babysitter
“Meelo! Get down from there this instance! I swear if you wake your brother after I just spent an hour getting him to fall asleep I will-“
Lin was cut short by the young airbender hopping down from the roof and landing, very expertly, on Lin’s shoulders. Her eyes narrowed and her mouth got very thin in obvious annoyance.  Meelo crossed his arms on the top of her head and rested his chin on them.
“Where are your sisters?”
“IKKI, JI-“
Lin’s hand shot up and quickly covered the airbender’s mouth.
“What did I just say about waking your brothe- ugck!”
She pulled her hand back down, shaking it furiously.
“Did you just lick me?”
He giggled in response, thumping his heels against her metal chest plate. Having had enough, she grabbed him by one ankle and pulled him from her shoulders so he was hanging upside down in front of her. He laughed uncontrollably and she lifted him up so she could look him in the eye.
“Now you listen to me. We’re going to find your sisters and then it’s time for you all to go to bed. Do you understand?”
“No!”
He wriggled against her grip and Lin felt her stomach drop for a moment when he slipped out of her hand. It was short lived, however, as she was quickly reminded that he was an airbender. He merely twisted around mid-air, landing on his feet like a cat before immediately taking off in the direction opposite the house.
Lin let out a loud groan, throwing her head back in frustration. How did she EVER let Tenzin convince her to babysit his herd of brats. He and Pema had wanted to have night to themselves for the first time since the kids had been born and somehow they had thought she was the best person to keep the children in line. They had sent Meelo to try and sweet talk her and she cursed herself for being unable to say no to his toothy smile as he fed her some bull about her being his hero or something.
As she watched him running farther away from her she made mental note to never fall for his antics again. Deciding that it was best to act before he was completely out of her range she stomped her foot to the ground. Too distracted to be paying much attention to his surroundings, Meelo quickly found his entire lower body encased in earth, his hands trapped by his sides.
“No fair!”
Lin couldn’t help but smirk as she slowly sauntered towards him.
“Meelo, what did you do?”
“She said we have to go to bed!”
“But I don’t want to go to bed!”
“Ikki, Meelo, the sun is setting. You know that means it’s time for bed.”
“Jinora, just because you’re the oldest doesn’t mean you’re the boss of us!”
“No, but I am.”
Jinora and Ikki were walking up one of the grassy paths when they came across their trapped brother.  Lin put her hands on her hips as she approached in an attempt to look more intimidating. She could regularly make grown men nearly wet their pants with a single glance but these kids weren’t even phased by her general authoritarian demeanor.
“B…but Aunt Lin! Why do we have to go to bed?”
“Because I said so. And don’t call me that.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m not your Aunt.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m not.”
“Lord Zuko isn’t our dad’s uncle but he still calls him that. And he calls your mom Aunt Toph.”
“That’s because he had a close relationship with both of them growing up.”
Lin released Meelo from his earthen prison and made a motion for him to reclaim his perch upon her shoulders. He squealed with delight before launching himself back up, squeezing his legs tightly against her neck.
“No fair! I want to ride on your shoulders. Meelo always gets to!”
“Meelo, stop squeezing so hard. Ikki, you can ride on my back if you want, just don’t knock your brother off.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
Ikki jumped into the air and latched herself onto Lin’s back. With Meelo on her shoulders there wasn’t much space for Ikki to hold on so Lin flicked her hand so one of her cables wrapped around the girl’s behind and crisscrossed over her back like a harness.
“Let’s go!!”
Lin looked over to Jinora with what she hoped was a sympathetic look.
“Sorry, I don’t have any other body parts for you to climb on, kid.”
“EW MEELO FARTED!”
Lin stumbled a bit as she tried to stay upright while Ikki struggled against her back. Meelo was laughing hysterically and kicked his legs hard against her chest. She and Jinora shared a look, both deadpan and completely done with the younger airbender’s antics.
“It’s okay. I prefer to walk.”
Twenty minutes later Lin had managed to get them all into bed. Not their own beds because apparently that was asking too much. Instead she had convinced Jinora to share their parents’ bed with her younger siblings. Lin had formed a silent alliance with the girl and she hoped she’d be able to keep them in line should they decide to rebel against bedtime… again. She carefully pulled the blankets up over the trio, pleading silently with the universe that they’d just go to sleep.
“Now, you all go to sleep and no getting out of bed. Or else.”
“Or else what?”
“Yeah! Will you throw us in jail?”
“Oh! I’ve always wanted to see what jail is!”
“Me too!”
Meelo was already halfway out of bed when Lin finally lost her temper.
“NO! You. Get back in that bed right now.”
She really did try to not use her police chief voice with the kids but she was just so exhausted and wanted nothing more in the world than for them to go to sleep. Then she saw the looks on their faces. Meelo was frozen, eyes wide as he stared at her. She hadn’t meant for it to come out so abrasively but then Ikki started to cry and she actually felt bad.
“Ikki, don’t cry. I’m sorry. I got a little frustrated.”
“It’s okay. We have been kind of bad, haven’t we?”
Lin, once again, felt bad for making the kids feel like she was upset with them. They definitely were a burden but she didn’t need to make them feel bad about it. They were children. She spent every day dealing with adults who behaved more poorly than Tenzin’s kids, she supposed she could give them a little leeway. She sat down on the edge of the bed and smiled at them.
“No. You haven’t been that bad. I’m just still getting used to looking after you. I don’t have much experience with kids.”
“That is painfully obvious.”
Lin looked to Jinora in surprise and found the young girl giving her a cheeky smile. Oh, she most definitely was becoming Lin’s favorite.
“Thanks for the vote of confidence, kid. Now, back into bed. You really do need to go to sleep.”
“B..but I’m not even tired.”
Meelo yawned, not fighting Lin as she covered him back up with the blanket. Ikki already had her eyes closed and she walked around to the other side of the bed, making sure Jinora was comfortable as well. To Lin’s surprise the girl sat up and wrapped her arms tightly around her neck.
“Thanks for watching us tonight, Aunt Lin.”
Lin didn’t correct her this time, giving her a quick pat on the back before Jinora nestled back into the bed. She surveyed the three of them for a moment. They’re much cuter when they’re quiet. She quietly walked to the door, thinking she had finally achieved the impossible when…
“EW! MEELO!”
Ikki was yelling again while Meelo waved the blanket up and down wildly.
“I’m sorry, I can’t help that I’m so full of air. It just has to come out.”
Lin felt like crying. She really did. They had been so close.
“Meelo, Ikki, lay back down. There, the smell is gone.”
Jinora had taken control of the situation before Lin even had a chance to turn back to them. Sending a jet of air around the room to clear it of any unpleasant smells produced by her disgusting little brother. Ikki was still pouting and Meelo gave Lin one of his signature, toothy smiles.
“Sorry.”
“It’s fine. Just… just please go to sleep now.”
“Wait!”
“What is it Ikki?”
“Tell us a story!”
“It’s way too late-“
“I’m sure we’ll all go right to sleep if you tell us a story.”
“Jinora, I thought you were on my team.”
She looked at her innocently and Lin let out a long sigh.
“Fine. I’ll tell you a story my mother used to tell me and my sister when we were kids.”
They all looked very excited as Lin sat on the edge of the bed again and cleared her throat dramatically.
“The cats nestle close to their kittens,
The lambs have laid down with the sheep.
You are cozy and warm in your bed, my dear.
Please go the fuck to sleep...”

Pleasant’s Writer Recs!
I’ve gotten a few asks in my inbox over the past few weeks asking me for writer recs, so I thought the best way to do this was to compile a list of my fav authors on tumblr and rec my favorite fic of theirs! A lot of these amazing authors are moots—I’m very lucky to call many of them close friends. This list could be much longer, and I could go on for days about every single author, but I’ll try to keep it brief. Most all of these authors, like myself, write 18+ only content. Hopefully this can be a useful tool for authors and readers alike looking for amazing fanfic 💕
@bakatenshii | Angel is so phenomenal with her writing that I almost can’t put her style and amazing ability into words (but I’ll try). Angel’s work is beautiful, masterful, full of poetry, elegance, and smut that will all leave you gasping. Fav Fic: Blitz [Ushijima x Reader]
@blahkugo | Sunnt, Thunnth, Sunny, whatever you call her, she is brilliant. No one writes Tsukishima quite like she does. She is beyond creative and her writing style flows like the sexiest water, it’ll make you thirsty and quench your aches. Fav Fic: Tower [Tsukishima x Reader]
@deathcab4daddy | Tay is all about details, details, details. She fills in every gap and paints gorgeous, sexy pictures and situations for the reader to feel immersed in. Fav Fic: Cerulean Blue [Akaashi x Reader]
@dymphnasprose | Dymphna is all about fun, sex, and slowly filling out her holy bible of smut. She’s amazing at creating realistic sub/dom relationships and her smut almost always comes with a healthy dose of build-up. Fav Fic: Green Scrunchies [Ukai x Reader]
@enjifuckersupreme | Ketsl reigns supreme over pure, unadulterated porn. They are phenomenal at making me the reader wet, and every fic is crafted with so much care. Enji fuckers should bow down at their feet, no one loves and writes Enji like Ketsl. Fav Fic: Attitude Adjustment [Enji x Reader]
@hisoknen | Raph is one of the first dark blogs I ever started reading, and she never, ever disappoints. She writes pieces that chill you to the bone, but warms your sex- her writing is casual, smooth, and realistic, always giving you everything you need, but leaving you wanting a little more. Fav Fic: Sleeping Beauty [Dabi x Reader]
@hoe-doroki | Ana is one of the sweetest writers I know. Every time I talk to her, she’s working on comfort requests or beta-reading for other people. Her writing is such a pleasure to read, as you can tell she pours love and consideration into every fic for her readers. Fav Fic: Can’t Find My Breath [Bakugou x Reader]
@joyousandverywarlike | Zo...holy fucking shit. Zo is a writer who consistently blows me out of the water with her skill. This woman is a novelist blessing us with juicy, rich smut and love stories like no one else can. She is incredibly poetic and her writing is an absolute joy to read; she also writes amazing fics for black readers and has an amazing voice that she uses for asmr audios! Fav Fic: How We Met [Ushijima x Reader]
@lemonlordleah-shinzawa-kitten | Leah is an author who takes immense care with her work. She works incredibly hard to craft sexy, healthy bdsm fics for bnha. She is a great blog to go to for bdsm education, and she’s also got a side blog @lemonlordleah-extra-sour for all you extra naughty readers who like the darker side of fanfic. You should also check out her Patreon! Fav Fic: Between the Evergreen [Aizawa x Reader]
@linestrider | Nyki’s work is like smooth water, it’s calming, refreshing, but she also adds a nice, chill bite to it as well with her darker style. Nyki puts such an impressive amount of care into her work; a word is never out of place, every sentence has meaning, every paragraph gives you something new. It was very hard to choose just one fic to recommend. Fav Fic: What’s Said is Said [Hawks x Reader]
@lookslikeleese | Leese is one of the most fun writers on Tumblr, and by that I mean you just have a shitload of fun reading her fics. They are like little, sexy treats to take in right before bed and feel a little more full than you were before. She is also the Cucking Queen. Fav Fic: Cola [Enji x Reader]
@messwriting | Lee is also another fun writer! Her writing is exhilarating to read, and you’d never guess she’s a sexy Brazilian whose second language is English based on how well she writes. She’s a little sex goddess who will give you everything you want and more in every fic. Fav Fic: What We Could’ve Been [Tsukishima x Reader]
@mindninjax | Marquie is a full on sweetie with a sexy side. She. Is. So. Creative. Every fic of hers is so unique and her masterlist is a whole reading experience. Fav Fic: City Lights [Enji x Reader]
@present-mel | The. Queen. Of. Dialogue. Mel is a master at making her fanfic feel real, gritty, sexy, and beautiful all at the same time. This woman pours her heart and soul into fanfic, especially into her Erwin series Fragments of Memories. I was so captivated by her work that I just had to become her friend, her work is enchanting and thrilling. Fav Fic: Until the Fire Played [Enji x Reader]
@rat-suki | Annie makes me horny. Like, real horny. Her smut is fantastic and are often little thrill rides within themselves. Fuck rollercoasters, just go to Annie’s masterlist to find a joy ride. Fav Fic: Hell Fire [Enji x Reader]
@rivendell101 | I’m such a big fan of Alisha, that I sent her a request months ago before we even became friends. This author knows how to craft a story, her work is very meticulous with details and her plots are always so spot on. Fav Fic: Sweet Thing [Natsuo x Reader]
@smutbardpeach | Smutbard is the most accurate title for Peach, as her fics read like poetry and song, filled with beautiful language, imagery, and allusions to the brim. If you’re ever looking for something romantic, sensual, delightful, and just overall magnificent to read, this is the blog to go to. Many nights I have stayed up laughing my ass off and saying “why is that so true?” while reading through her astonishingly creative work. Fav Fic: Haikyuu on Drugs
@thewheezingwyvern | Wyv is a writer who gets straight to the point; her words are poignant, meaningful, and always paint a very clear picture. She is a Shinsou and Aizawa lover/fucker all the way to her core, and she’s amazing at bringing those characters to life in her work. Fav Fic: Salt Lines [Aizawa & Shinsou x Reader]
@thisisthehardestthing | Claudia is one of the most talented writers I have ever met. Period. She has a vocabulary, a depth, an ability to craft the most intense, alluring, and magnificent fanfic you’ve ever read. Fav Fic: Once in a Blue Moon [Karasuno x Reader Gangbang]

Tumblr media
Your forced marriage wasn’t without its little joys.
For example you got to enjoy your husband's cock, even if you didn’t enjoy his company. It’s not that you didn’t want to be around him, it’s that he was never around you.
He only came to your room to fuck. And he never stayed the night. Not that you cared. You didn’t care at all.
You went about your life, trying to learn the business from Johnny, who was learning it for your dad.
Your father wanted you to stay home and be a dutiful wife and pop out babies, so you went over everything with Johhny at home, and then, waited for Lin in your room at night.
This was the way for the first three months of your marriage.
When he came into your room, he would always knock and wait for you to answer. You always invited him in.
He rocked your world and left you spent and breathless, leaving without a goodbye, or a kiss.
You were so fucking torn. You know your body needed him, but you were beginning to want his attention in other ways, and that was so fucking annoying.
So you began acting out.
Tumblr media
You were killing him. All Lin really wanted was for you to admit that you had feelings for him. He wasn’t going to force himself on you; you always let him into your bed willingly.
For a little while, he let your eager response to him make him believe that you wanted him too, and for more than just sex. But as soon as the euphoria evaporated, he left, to avoid seeing you turn away from him.
He hung out with his friends as late as he could every evening, to avoid the cold space that was his home.
Tumblr media
You started going out with your girls, mainly to the same clubs and bars that Lin frequented. Your favorite, and his, was Ricky’s.
The first time he saw you, he stalked over to you and asked what you were doing.
You gave him a smart ass remark about him and your father, and although his eyes flashed, he left you alone, moodily staring at you from across the room.
You didn’t want to interpret his soulful dark eyes as puppy dog, but as soulless monster. It helped you sleep at night.
This kept up for about a week, until Lin thought it was time he took control. The fact that other dudes in the bar were ogling you and buying you drinks was the final straw.
This night, Lin pulled you into a corner of the club, where it was dark.
"I want to talk about us. Some things need to change. You seem to have forgotten that ass is mine."
You were annoyed.
"Why do you wanna fuck up a nice night by trying to start an argument? I told you what was up. I don't want to hear anymore about it. Don't be a fucking simp."
You started to walk away. Lin yanked you back by your arm.
"I'm a simp?"
Lin was speaking through clenched teeth.
"Well, if you want to have anything else to do with me, our lifestyle, or this marriage, you better listen the fuck up when I say I want to talk."
You tried to pull away from his grip, but he had your arm fast. You slapped him and tried to get away.
Lim stopped, then smiled as he grabbed your face and turned it back toward him. You looked at him with those fucking pretty wide eyes.
Fuck, he was as hard as a rock.
"Let. Me. Go."
You sounded pissed but looked turned on.
"Get your fucking hands off me."
Lin immediately let you go but you didn't move. He could tell you wanted it. You stood there and looked at him as if you’d never seen him before. Then you bit your lip.
"Go on. Take a little time to cool down if you want to get over yourself. But when I say come here, you'd better bring your ass to me. Like that."
Lin snapped his fingers and you jumped, as if you were startled. You cleared your throat and smoothed your hair as you backed away toward the bar.
"I-I'm going to get a drink."
Lin kept staring you down.
"You do that. Remember, bring that ass here when I say so."
You turned around and Lin could have sworn he saw a smile on your face as you turned.
About 15 minutes later, you walked over to the table. Lin had another drink. You and he had stalked each other the rest of the night.
You tried, unsuccessfully, not to let him catch you checking for him.
The song you danced to at your wedding came on, and
As the song started, he started to move toward you. Lin pointed to the spot next to him and you were there in three seconds. He didn't speak as he took you in his arms. You moved as one for about four minutes as the song played.
After it was over, he led you to a banquette on the other side of the bar and let his hands do the talking as you waited for midnight.
He had you nervous. Lin’s hands were traveling up your leg to the hem of your dress. He didn’t stop there, but continued north.
"Everyone can see what you're doing.”
Your eyes fell halfway closed as Lin’s hand went in your panties. He didn't speak for a couple of minutes as he did what he wanted.
"I'm just getting you ready for what's going to happen after we talk. In about 30 seconds," Lin paused as he fingered you. "You’re going to cum. Exactly when I tell you to.”
Lins fingers were between the lips of your pussy and circling your clit with tight, insistent strokes.
"Oh. Ok."
You were under his spell and any resistance was long gone. Lin worked your clit faster.
“If I had the space and opportunity, I would spank this clit. Punish you for being a bad girl.”
Your eyes were focused on Lin’s lips, and the filthy words he was saying. For some reason you wanted to be his good girl. His lips were delicious… You were hypnotized as he started a countdown. You weren’t going to kiss him, but…
"5, 4, 3, 2, 1.... “
Lin’s voice was every. Thing.
"Cum. Now."
No one. Absolutely no one but your husband was watching you when you came at his command. You tried to keep it quiet, but it didn't matter. No one cared. Except you and Lin.
"Fuck! Lin...."
You were exhausted. All the tension and now this.
Lin watched you for a few with a little smile on his face and then moved quickly, very pleased with himself.
"Get it together. We will talk. And we will fuck. And then we will make love. So straighten up. I don't want to hear that you are tired. Let's go."
You scrambled up, straightened your dress and followed Lin over to his friends.
You watched and listened in a daze as he said his goodbys. But you were so tired from the orgasm. You didn't realize it when you yawned.
You realized your mistake as you saw Lin's expression and his raised eyebrow.
You crossed your arms and tried to look tough. You had to save face.
"No time for sleep. You know what's up."
You rolled your eyes, insolent once again.
Lin moved toward you and whispered, "If you don't wake the fuck up and bring your ass with me, I will throw you over my knee right here, pull up your dress and spank the fuck outta you. In front of everyone."
You pulled back so she could see his face. Lin was as serious as a heart attack.
"Try me."
You straightened up and blushed.
Tumblr media
You got more excited as Lin yanked you closer to him as you walked out the door.
You two waited at the valet and it was awkward. The car came around and Lin helped you in like a gentleman.
Inside he was not.
“Get the fuck on your knees.”
You followed the direction of Lin’s finger pointing to the floor of the suv.
“You must be joking.”
Lin moved and took out his cock, stroking the already hard and shiny length.
“I’m going to ask you one more time.”
You couldn’t resist it and got on your knees in front of him. You didn’t have much practice with this, but the few times you did it, Lin told you it was good.
You went to work wetly sucking and licking him, making it sloppy as he seemed to like. As you looked up at him, his head was thrown back as his eyes peered down at you and you could hear the grunts in the back of his throat.
When his hand came up to push your head down, you gladly planted your nose at the base of his cock and gagged, just to hear him curse in Spanish.
When you pulled off, Lin grabbed your dress and pulled it off, slapping and roughly pinching your nipples. It only made you wetter.
“Fuck!”
“You like that? Want my cock?”
You nodded like a fiend.
“Then you do what the fuck I say. Get the fuck up here.”
You scrambled up and placed your thighs on either side of his on the seat of the car. He was teasing you with his cock at your entrance.
He smacked your ass a few times, just how you liked, pulled your panties to the side and started to descend down his shaft.
Lin unexpectedly stopped you at his tip, fingers grabbing you harshly at your hip.
“Things are going to change. We sleep in the same bed from now on.”
You nodded and he let you go lower, but only halfway. You groaned because you wanted it all.
“And we talk. We communicate. We don’t just fuck.”
You lowered your eyes.
“Look at me. Give me a kiss.”
You paused, feeling Lin pound and you quiver, but also something else. Then you looked up at him, leaned forward and kissed him, his tongue destroying your soul. You slid down his dick and swiveled your hips to feel all of him.
You separated and Lin grinned. He was kinda cute. Then he smirked and leaned you back, holding you up with his hand on you neck as he pounded up into you until you both came, screaming and sweaty in the back of a car.
You came back up and leaned on his chest, feeling him soften and start to slip out of you. You closed your eyes for a few and before you knew it, Lin was getting you up to get dressed before you excited the car at your building.
He fixed himself, got out, and extended his hand.
“Let’s go to bed.”
He winked at you and you couldn’t help but smile.
Lord help you. You were in love with your husband.

Kaleidoscope of Death, Ch. 110
Kaleidoscope of Death by Xi Zixu Link to Chinese / Novel Updates
Chapter 110: Open This
Though the Hako Onna's position could change, the position of the items inside the chests could not. In other words, if somebody had already opened a chest and seen what was in it, then the next person did not have to waste a chance on the previously opened chest.
Opening the chests was dangerous, but there was potential profit in the danger. If they could find an item that could kill the Hako Onna or give her rest, or if it was the strongbox passcode or something like that, then the humans would gain the advantage.
After his speech, Sun Yuanzhou swept his gaze through the crowd, voice terrifyingly cold: "I know what you're all thinking. You want to pick up other people's leftovers, right? Zhu Meng, you've played the game before. Tell them, can Hako Onna enter chests that have already been opened?"
"Of course she can," Ruan Nanzhu answered evenly. "The chests close after opening, so Hako Onna can definitely move inside. For those who want to avoid danger, I recommend you don't try to play for leftovers. It’s better to starve."
"Hear that?" Sun Yuanzhou said. "Intel. That's what's most important right now—intel. Open boxes in groups of at least two. This way, if anything happens, there's someone to take the record."
Frankly put, this was so that should anyone open up a Hakobito or the Hako Onna, they wouldn't disappear without anyone knowing.
"That's right, didn't Xiao Ji open up a power called False Answers yesterday?" Ruan Nanzhu told everybody what they'd discovered earlier in order to prevent anybody else from getting tricked. "In the tabletop, this power meant that the player acting as Hako Onna could lie. But here, the power's changed accordingly—Hako Onna can hide in chests and sound like people you know. So if you hear any sounds, don't think that someone you know has been caught."
Sun Yuanzhou nodded his own understanding, and looked at the group.
"Any other questions?"
The people seated around the table began to whisper among themselves, discussing the information Ruan Nanzhu gave them and Sun Yuanzhou's suggestions.
"We're also not going to make you open any chests. If you think you can bear the hunger, then go on, starve." Sun Yuanzhou added one last option: "You can also wait until you're so hungry that you can't take it any longer, and open a chest then."
"I have a question." A young woman from the group stood up. Lin Qiushi remembered her name was Xuan Zihui. She pointed a finger at Ruan Nanzhu. "She's the one who's been telling us all this information. If she's lying to us, we have no way of knowing."
When he heard this, Sun Yuanzhou started to say something. But Ruan Nanzhu laughed, raising his chin and speaking with derision: "If you'd like, you don't have to believe me at all. I don't mind."
Sun Yuanzhou, "exactly." He was clearly taking Ruan Nanzhu's side against Xuan Zihui's suspicions. "If you can provide any other intel, nobody would mind."
Xuan Zihui wanted to add something else, but was stopped by a tug from someone beside her, indicating she should stop.
"If we were in another door, I might have something to gain from lying to you. But in this door, there's no profit to speak of from lying." Ruan Nanzhu wasn't even looking at Xuan Zihui, evidently disdainful of her doubts. "Increase the number of Hakobito, and you think I'll have an easier time beating this game?"
"The nature of this door is a bit special. We can set all of that aside for now. I think it's best we focus on the matter of opening the chests," someone spoke up as peacemaker.
Sun Yuanzhou fished out sticky notes from his bag and distributed them among those gathered. He warned everybody that if anyone managed to open up an item or one of Hako Onna's powers, then they had to talk. There could be no hiding.
People took the sticky notes with a rich range of expressions. Everybody clearly was taking their own measure of the situation.
After that everybody made a pact to exchange information every day at noon. They would trade discoveries from the day before and also check on the number of survivors.
When the meeting concluded, the group scattered.
"Do you think they'll open up any chests?" Lin Qiushi began discussing with Ruan Nanzhu. They had him to listen to chests. Compared to everybody else, they had a much wider margin of safety.
"No," Ruan Nanzhu said. "They're all sly old foxes keen on surviving. Nobody will open a chest today at least."
"Then we have to wait until morning?" Lin Qiushi understood Ruan Nanzhu's meaning. "Breakfast, right?"
Ruan Nanzhu smiled.
"Yeah. Though that's only one meal a day, you don't have to starve if you've got the one meal."
"Honestly, upon careful thought, this is not a bad method," Liang Miye sighed. She was talking about the door's restriction. After all, if it didn't force them to open up the chests, then these people could definitely hole up in this mansion for months.
She mumbled, "who doesn't want to get out as soon as possible though…"
That night, many people lost sleep. Perhaps it was due to hunger. Perhaps it was terror.
Lin Qiushi didn't manage to sleep well either. For most of the night, he stayed halfway in and out of dreams. Amidst the drowsiness, he suddenly felt Ruan Nanzhu climb into his bed.
"Nanzhu…" Lin Qiushi mumbled. "What is it?"
Ruan Nanzhu got up close to Lin Qiushi's ear and whispered, "Linlin, are you hungry at all?"
Lin Qiushi, "a bit…"
Who wouldn't be hungry after not eating all day? He was only hungry, however, not so starved that he couldn't stand it.
But he didn't expect that after he said this, Ruan Nanzhu would fish something out of his own pajama pocket. Lin Qiushi looked down and saw that it was a piece of chocolate.
"Half for you and half for me." Pinching the chocolate between his fingers, Ruan Nanzhu lightly snapped it apart. "It'll be our secret."
The corners of his eyes curved up, and Lin Qiushi thought his smile was very lovely.
"How much did you bring?" Lin Qiushi asked.
"Not much…" Ruan Nanzhu answered. He tore the wrapper off and brought the chocolate to Lin Qiushi's lips. "Go ahead, eat."
Before Lin Qiushi could say anything, he felt the chocolate push into his mouth. On reflex he gave Ruan Nanzhu's fingers a lick, and saw Ruan Nanzhu's pupils darken.
Ruan Nanzhu, "is it sweet?"
Lin Qiushi nodded.
Ruan Nanzhu got closer and lapped at his lips.
"It is sweet."
He didn't eat the other piece, but wrapped it back up and stuffed it into his pocket.
"How come you're not eating?" Lin Qiushi asked.
"I'm not hungry," Ruan Nanzhu said. "Sleep. We have to wake up early tomorrow."
Lin Qiushi watched Ruan Nanzhu's eyes. However impressive he was, Ruan Nanzhu was still just a regular human; he also got hungry if he didn't eat.
Lin Qiushi still wanted to talk, but Ruan Nanzhu was already squirming into his arms, kissing him once on the chin and whispering, "shh, stop talking, you'll wake Miye. Go to sleep already."
Seeing Ruan Nanzhu's adamant attitude, Lin Qiushi could only give in. He reached out and wrapped his arms tightly around Ruan Nanzhu.
The Ruan Nanzhu inside this door wasn't small or frail—he was just a few degrees livelier compared to outside. At least, Lin Qiushi thought, if they were outside, he wouldn't dare to fantasize about wrapping Ruan Nanzhu up in his arms to tenderly cherish...
The first thing next morning, Liang Miye stared at the hugging clump of people on the bed, eyes bugging out.
"Good morning," Ruan Nanzhu greeted her easily upon waking.
Liang Miye said, "you two…"
Just as she wanted to ask why they were sharing a bed, she saw Ruan Nanzhu press a kiss to Lin Qiushi's cheek, calling, "Linlin, time to wake up."
Lin Qiushi mumbled drowsily, "good morning."
Liang Miye, "…" Oh fuck, she seemed to have learned something she shouldn't have known. The leader of Obsidian was dating one of his own members?! Wasn't that a bit too similar to her own boss?!
Neither Lin Qiushi nor Ruan Nanzhu reacted to Liang Miye's shock, washing up in tranquil peace and heading to the dining room.
Once in the dining room, they saw the atmosphere among the crowd and knew their guess last night was correct. Of course the door wasn't going to be merciful and grant them a loophole—if they didn't open any chests, they couldn't have breakfast either.
Only Xiao Ji, who'd opened up a chest yesterday, was happily stuffing his mouth with hotcakes. People watched from around him, eyes red with jealousy.
"Heheh. No use looking at me like that. If you want to eat just open up some chests."
Lin Qiushi's group found chairs to sit in and waited for others to show. After a while, Sun Yuanzhou's group arrived late. They sat down, gave everyone a smile, and began picking up and eating the food on the table—these people had also opened some chests.
"You guys opened the chests?" Xuan Zihui, who'd voiced suspicions about Ruan Nanzhu yesterday, hurried to ask. "What did you find?"
"You could say we were lucky, but you could also say we weren't." Sun Yuanzhou only spoke after swallowing a mouthful of porridge. "Two empty boxes, one power for Hako Onna."
"We opened up another power!" The crowd was slightly despairing. "What did you open??"
Sun Yuanzhou put the power card on the table. Lin Qiushi was closest, and read the text in a moment: Open This.
"What does that mean??" Everybody looked toward the only one who knew the rules—Ruan Nanzhu.
"It's a troublesome power," Ruan Nanzhu sighed. "The Hako Onna can force a player to open a designated chest…"
The group sank immediately into silence.
"Meaning what? Meaning she can choose somebody to die?" The one speaking was a newbie who looked on the verge of breakdown. "Is that what that means?"
"Yes." Ruan Nanzhu's answer was light.
"But this is also our chance." Seeing looks of despair surface on everybody's faces, Ruan Nanzhu continued in a warmer tone. "The Hako Onna and Hakobito can actually be killed. It just takes one of the special items. And, the way to kill them is to use the item on the chest before opening it. These items are hidden inside the chests, so if you can open one up, you can render this power null."
Nobody replied, because everybody knew in their hearts that things wouldn't be so easy.
With two hundred chests, who know where those items were hidden?
A hopeless aura enveloped the crowd. Around the dining table, the sound of crying once again started.
Sun Yuanzhou clearly had no good feelings to spare the sobbing, breathless newbies. As soon as he finished eating he got up and left with his companions.
Ruan Nanzhu and Lin Qiushi didn't dally around the dining table either—it wasn't like they could eat at any rate.
"Let's go see about the chests in the study first," Ruan Nanzhu suggested after leaving the dining room.
"Okay," Lin Qiushi nodded.
They got to the study, and Lin Qiushi selected two random chests. After bending down and listening closely to confirm no sounds were coming from inside, he took a deep breath and decided to be the first to open one.
"Let me try first," Lin Qiushi said. He actually wasn't all that confident. With another deep breath, he clasped the top of the chest and lifted with force—empty. There was nothing in the chest at all. As he exhaled in relief, Lin Qiushi also felt a sense of disappointment.
He hadn't been able to open up a useful item.
"You take the next chest," Ruan Nanzhu said, looking toward Liang Miye who stood off at the side, not saying much.
"Me?" Lin Qiushi was a bit shocked. She was already mentally prepared to go hungry for two days—it was Lin Qiushi's power, after all. Two days wasn't much anyways, it wouldn't kill her. But she hadn't thought that Ruan Nanzhu would give her this opportunity.
"Mh," Ruan Nanzhu nodded.
Liang Miye had wanted to refuse, but then saw determined Ruan Nanzhu was.
"It's only two days," he said. "It's not a big deal."
Liang Miye, "alright… But you don't have to starve either. I brought in some food of my own. Though it's not much, it'll do to curb the hunger."
Ruan Nanzhu shot her a smile.
"Okay then."
Liang Miye chose a chest. Lin Qiushi gave it a listen, then nodded, indicating she could open it. Like Lin Qiushi, she held her breath when she got ready and opened the chest with careful motions. There was something inside her chest—a card with a number 3 on it.
"It's the passcode to the safe!" Lin Qiushi exclaimed.
"Not so bad," Liang Miye grinned, slipping the card into her pocket.
Ruan Nanzhu, however, didn't smile. In fact, he sighed.
"What's the sigh for?" Lin Qiushi asked him.
"Opening the safe is the most troublesome way of getting out of here," Ruan Nanzhu told him.
"Why do you say that?" Liang Miye asked.
"Because the passcode might not be in a single person's possession. So when it comes time to leave, who does the hint go to?" Ruan Nanzhu said. "But it's too early to think about that now. We'll talk later."
As the three kept discussing matters, they heard, coming from the dining room downstairs, a young girl's wailing cry. This cry was piercing and anguished—it belonged to the Hako Onna.
When they heard this sound, all three of their expressions changed for the worse.
In the tabletop, Hako Onna couldn't use a power immediately after a player opens one up. She must first cry to make the power truly belong to her. Though Hako Onna's cry exposed her location, it told all the players at the same time that she had gained one more power.
"I've got such a bad feeling about this," Liang Miye said.
Neither Lin Qiushi nor Ruan Nanzhu spoke.
The entire mansion was sunk in an air of despondency. Lin Qiushi came down from the second floor and saw pale-faced newbies sitting in the living room. They seemed to have given up on any hope of surviving, sitting there utterly still like wooden figures.
These were all people that Wei Xiude had brought inside, but Wei Xiude was currently nowhere to be seen. Clearly, after these people became a hindrance, he'd given up on them.
Lin Qiushi thought that this guy really ought to change his name, from Wei "Meritorious" Xiude to Meritless. It would be more fitting.
When it came lunchtime, only half of the group of twenty could move their chopsticks. The rest either didn't come to the dining room at all or they sat there staring.
Sun Yuanzhou was a bit shocked that Ruan Nanzhu also wasn't eating. He asked, "you didn't open one either?"
"I was scared," Ruan Nanzhu pouted, all soft and weak as he leaned against Lin Qiushi's shoulder. His long lashes trembled, and his expression was pitiful. "What if I open it and something weird comes out?"
Sun Yuanzhou said, "but you can't keep not eating."
It seemed that he liked Ruan Nanzhu enough to care about him this much.
Ruan Nanzhu didn't reply.
There really was a good amount of people not eating, even a few veterans. Thanks to Xiao Ji, Wei Xiude managed to eat his fill. His look of contentment did not put others in a good mood.
After eating, the group traded some information. No one had yet opened up any particularly useful items. Only one person found a can of gasoline.
Ruan Nanzhu explained the gasoline's use. It can restrict the Hako Onna's movement once or kill a Hakobito, but the condition to use it was that you had to be certain that the Hakobito or Hako Onna were in that particular chest, and use it while the chest was closed.
The person who found the gasoline let out a breath and said he was safe for tomorrow then. As long as he used the gasoline before opening the chest, he could be a hundred percent certain that the chest he opened was safe.
Liang Miye also told everyone about them finding a piece of the strongbox passcode, but she didn't tell them what the digit was. She only said that if anyone else found any, they could work together. Whoever had more digits could get the key, and if everybody found only one, then they would play rock-paper-scissors for the key.
This was the fairest method. Plus, others hadn't found any other digits yet, so everybody quickly agreed.
After exchanging intel, the group dispersed.
Ruan Nanzhu seemed a bit sleepy. He kept yawning after getting up from the table.
Lin Qiushi asked, "what's wrong? Are you not feeling well?"
"Mh, I want to sleep," Ruan Nanzhu said. "Let's go back to the room first."
He rubbed his eyes, looking really quite tired.
“Alright. Did you not sleep well last night?"
They walked up to the second floor and returned to their room. Ruan Nanzhu sat down on the side of the bed, but didn't get in. His gaze fell on a chest by the wall.
Sitting behind him, Lin Qiushi paused.
"Zhu Meng?"
Ruan Nanzhu didn't answer.
"Zhu Meng?" Lin Qiushi came up to him and patted him on the shoulder, asking, "what's going on with you?"
Ruan Nanzhu's head whipped around, and he said, "…nothing."
A touch of hesitation surfaced between his brows, but in the end he still said, "nothing."
Liang Miye, "Zhu Meng, you didn't eat right? I'll go make some instant noodles for you."
She'd actually brought in instant noodles.
Liang Miye went to the kitchen to boil water. Lin Qiushi stayed seated beside Ruan Nanzhu, thinking Ruan Nanzhu wasn't feeling well. He put a hand to Ruan Nanzhu's forehead and confirmed Ruan Nanzhu wasn't running a temperature.
"Does it hurt anywhere?"
Ruan Nanzhu shook his head. He seemed a bit disconcerted by his own condition as well.
"I'm fine."
Lin Qiushi didn't reply. He followed Ruan Nanzhu's line of sight and saw the black wooden chest by the wall. It was still a normal chest, but judging by Ruan Nanzhu's gaze, one would think there was something of tremendous importance inside that chest.
An absurd thought appeared in Lin Qiushi's mind, and his expression went frozen. His voice, when he spoke, had become raspy: "Zhu Meng."
He took Ruan Nanzhu's face in his hands and pulled it by force to face him.
"Stop looking at that chest."
Ruan Nanzhu didn't answer. His expression didn't look right at all.
Lin Qiushi, "Zhu Meng?"
Ruan Nanzhu reached up and pressed his hand to Lin Qiushi's arm. Then, he pried Lin Qiushi's hand off him and turned back, gaze once again landing on that chest in the corner.
"I think there's an important item in that chest."
As soon as those words were out, Lin Qiushi knew he'd guessed correctly—the Hako Onna had used a power.
Open This. There must be something important in there. Maybe it's something that couldn kill the Hako Onna. As long as it's opened, they could leave here and return to reality. Ruan Nanzhu's eyes grew more and more determined. He slowly stood up from the bed.
"Nanzhu—" Lin Qiushi couldn't care for much else at this point, calling out Ruan Nanzhu's name directly. He grabbed Ruan Nanzhu around the waist. "Nanzhu, wake up!!"
Ruan Nanzhu didn't speak. He was very strong, easily pulling off the arm Lin Qiushi held him with and continuing toward the chest.
"Nanzhu—" A layer of cold sweat dotted Lin Qiushi's forehead. He used all his strength, but only managed to slightly slow Ruan Nanzhu's walking speed. "Nanzhu you gotta wake up, you can't open that chest!!"
He was roaring, trying to snap Ruan Nanzhu out of the illusion, but it was of no use. Ruan Nanzhu couldn't hear his voice at all, only continued forward step by step. He was already moments away from reaching the chest.
Because of Lin Qiushi's calls, Liang Miye had also come out of the kitchen. Seeing such a scene she yelled in fright, "Linlin, what's wrong!"
"Hako Onna's power!" Head soaked in sweat, Lin Qiushi was panting heavily. "Quick, come help me!"
Liang Miye also dashed over to help grab onto Ruan Nanzhu with Lin Qiushi.
But in the face of Ruan Nanzhu's immense strength, their attempts to stop him were like mayflies dashing themselves upon a tree. It was in this critical moment that an idea flashed in Lin Qiushi's mind. He yelled, "Liang Miye! Quick! Grab my backpack!"
Though she didn't know what for, Liang Miye still made a run for the backpack, dashing back to Lin Qiushi with it.
"Now what?!"
Lin Qiushi said, "hold onto Ruan Nanzhu!"
He took the backpack and swiftly began to dig through it—he didn't know if it would actually work or not, but this was the last hope of Ruan Nanzhu's survival!

Stuck With You
𖧷 You've always felt like he hated you. The way he acts cold with everyone and acts the coldest to you. It was as if he stayed away from you, so you wouldn't melt his freezing mask. Little did you know, that's exactly what he was doing.
Pairing: bad boy! Yeonjun x teacher's pet! Reader
Genre: slight angst, fluff, good reader x bad boy
TW: profanities, a little bit of bullying- nothing else (tell me if you see some) (also Yeonjun is kinda a jerk here, in the beginning only)
No. Of words: 1788

You don't understand.
You never understand why he doesn't like you very much. Sure, he's the school's bad boy, and he treats everyone coldly, especially to you! If not, he treats you like he's freezing.
The way his face would cringe or show disgust whenever you're near him or the way he would shove you to the side when you accidentally shoved him. You just don't understand!
Today is no exception- the bad boy was talking to his friends. The sly smile plastered on his face, gone in an instant when he sees you walking towards him and his friends.
Unbeknownst to him, you were there to talk to one of his friends.
"Hey, Soobin- are you still down to go to the park this weekend? The others want to finish the film earlier and maybe, we could hang out." You smiled and insisted.
The tall male smiled, his dimple stood out. However, before he could answer...
"Why would he need to go with you?" Yeonjun spoke, and a frown appeared on your lips.
"It's a group project..." You whispered, doubted that he heard it because the expression of disgust stayed on his face. Soobin waved his gigantic hands in front of you.
"I'm free and I'm okay with it! If you and the others don't mind, we can have a picnic!" Soobin enthusiastically insisted, the sweet smile came back to your lips.
"Sure! I'll tell the others! See you in class!" You waved your hand and ran to your classroom. You felt excited and sad since you've always had a tiny crush on Yeonjun...
"Why did you accept?" Yeonjun crossed his arms, the sleeves of his blue varsity jacket folded up to his elbow. Soobin sighed in disbelief at his friend's 'bad boy' image.
Soobin opened his locker and took his needed books. He turned to face Yeonjun; "and when will you tell her the truth, coward?" He closes his locker and begins walking.
"I'm not a coward, and what truth? I got nothing to say to that teacher's pet or whatever," Yeonjun followed Soobin, who rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever- you like them, that's the reason you're like so freezing with them." Yeonjun groaned in annoyance at his words.
"Fuck no," Yeonjun avoided looking at Soobin's gaze.
"Just admit it, you like them!"
"No!"
Suddenly, Soobin stopped his tracks when he saw you with one of their friends.
"What you looking at-," Yeonjun stared at you and Beomgyu. Both having an annoying, delightful conversation outside of their classroom. Yeonjun felt even more annoyed than he already was.
He walked pass Soobin and head towards you and his dear friend. He forcefully shoved his shoulder against your arm and because of his tall figure, you fell back to the ground.
"Ow..." You looked up to meet Yeonjun's freezing and annoyed gaze. He rolled his eyes and entered your classroom before classes start. Beomgyu helps you up and Soobin rushes to your side.
"I'm so sorry, y/n- I don't know what got over him," Soobin clasped his hands together to apologize on behalf of Yeonjun.
"No worries..." You softly smiled and masked your hurt frown. Soobin muttered another 'sorry' before he followed his hyung.
"You and Yeonjun got beef or something?" Beomgyu raised a brow as you both enter the classroom. His palms in his pocket and his eyes glued on your shriveled figure.
"I don't know why he hates me- I don't remember doing something terrible to him," you both sat down two rows in front of Yeonjun and Soobin.
"I think you intimidate him," Beomgyu lets out a chocked chuckle at his words. You glare at him before you opened your history book, feeling eyes stuck on you from behind.
"How the heck so I intimidate the school's bad boy? I should be the one that feels intimidated," you replied, your eyes reading on the said history of two rulers hating each other, only to fall in love on the end.
Beomgyu noticed what you were reading and let out a laugh. You looked at him with a puzzled expression.
"Foreshadowing," he patted your head while you remained puzzled. You asked what he meant, but he shrugged it off. A sly smirk danced on his lips.
You went back to reading and didn't notice Beomgyu turn around. His gaze met Yeonjun's and Soobin's who looked at him, curious.
Beomgyu's smirk only grew wider before he turned back to face you.

English class has always been your top subject. You would exile everything that subject has.
You enter the classroom, seeing that it is empty, you took your seat in the middle row. Your book in front of you whilst you rewrite your messy notes.
Suddenly, you heard the door open. In a glimpse of an eye, you saw Yeonjun enter. His eyes immediately landed on you, of course. You are the only person in the classroom.
You avoided his sharp gaze that was targeting you. You focused on your notes, although; the silence is making you sleepy.
Yeonjun's stern gaze was stuck on you. A soft smirk plastered on his plump lips when the thought came into his mind.
The thought of you forgetting there is no English class today. He lets out a scoff when you, aka the teacher's pet, and top student of your class, forgot there are no classes.
He saw how your head bobbed because of your drowsiness. Your eyes closing as if they gave up on you. The pen on your hand fell to the side before you rest your sleepy head on your folded arms in front of you.
Yeonjun quietly stands up from his seat and walked his way to you. His steps heavy yet peaceful. He sat on the chair in front of you.
Your very peaceful state baffled his feelings. He rests his arm on the back part of the chair to face you.
Your hair strands cover your attractive features, tucked behind your ears for Yeonjun to admire you.
Your kissable lips that remained irresistible to him since he first saw you.
Then he realized; he doesn't want to be around you. He's afraid to crush your heart with his bad boy demeanors, which is why he never paid much attention to you, and only showed you disgust and hatred.
He hates how you're his weak point, the key to his soft side. Especially since he admitted to himself that he truly does like you.
The eye bags under your eyes showed how exhausted you are from everything. Teachers putting their trust on you and for some, even pressures you to be a good example for your classmates.
He doesn't want to wake you up for 2 reasons. First, you're peaceful, tired, and beautiful (like always). Second, it's an opportunity for him to study your face features that just lured him to you.
He just lets time pass by.

Okay, maybe letting you sleep for a while is a bad idea. The sun has set and he notices a few lights of the school are now off.
That basically means you're stuck here at school for the night or until someone gets you.
Yeonjun faces you and gently wakes you up. "Wake up," he muttered, but no response. He did that again and this time, you woke up.
Your eyes widen, and you lean back on your seat. Yeonjun sat in front of you, his bitter expressions long gone and replaced with a concerned one.
You look around and realize the sun is gone. You no longer see the sun...
You look at Yeonjun, a puzzled with an annoyed expression on your face. He noticed and raised his arms,
"Not my fault- you forgot there is no English class today and fell asleep. That doesn't sound like my problem," Yeonjun stood up from his seat.
"That's the least of my problems right now... It's now evening! We're probably stuck here!" You stated and packed your things.
"They locked us in this classroom. They didn't notice us and just locked the door." Yeonjun stated, the tone of his voice was cold again. You sat back down as you ruffled your hair.
You're bombarded with home works and the school has no Wi-Fi for you to do your research. You groan in annoyance before you smack your head on the table.
Yeonjun was shocked- he has never seen you in such an annoyed state.
Silence took over as the clock continue to tick. You and Yeonjun seated far apart from each other; one in distress, one causes distress.
"Listen, I didn't mean to not wake you up-,"
"Oh, really? You hate me, so I'll totally believe that," you cut him off. He becomes quiet once again and watches you rest your head on the table.
"I can't believe I'm stuck with you," you sighed. Yeonjun crossed his arms, but you could feel a smirk on his lips.
"You should be grateful that it's me," he said. You turned your head to face him, a glare on your face. Instantly, his smirk disappeared, and he made his way towards you.
"Do you hate me, y/n?" He asked, and you were taken aback. He stood in front of you, his palms pressed against your desk, his eyes staring into yours.
You can't seem to look away either.
"I... Shouldn't I be asking that?" You looked down at his hands. The silver rings hugged his enormous hands look interesting, you find your feeling weird.
"I don't hate you, y/n- in fact, I actually like you." Now you feel dumb-founded.
Choi Yeonjun, the school's bad boy, aka the boy who treats you with disgust, likes you?
You shook your head and start flicking your forehead. Your eyes close shut when you feel the pain from your flicking.
"I'm not dreaming, right?" You glanced at Yeonjun, who had a sweet smile on. The butterflies in your stomach fly around.
"You're not dreaming, I do like you," he said once more for you to hear. You lean back on your chair in disbelief.
"Wait, wait- you still treated me like shit! How will you make me forgive you?" You realized and you puff your cheeks. You crossed your arms whilst Yeonjun leaned closer to your face.
"Close your eyes, I know a way," Yeonjun whispered. His haughty tone no longer there, instead it was a softer one. It felt more loving.
You did as you were told. You heard him snicker and suddenly; you felt something warm on your lips. You open your eyes at the same time the warmth left your lips empty.
You look up at Yeonjun, who cracked a smile.
"I'm stuck with you and I'm not complaining."

Mako/Iroh/Female Reader- Iroh comes to stay with you and Mako. With time, something starts to grow.
Warnings:smut and more smut, threesome, spit?, dom!mako, dom!iroh, its freaky
Notes: I don’t know why i made this. It feels like it would never actually happen but a girl can always hope. Also everyone is of age!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“You’re coming to stay?” You almost busted through the door of your apartment that you shared with Mako. You two worked for Lin after the whole avatar stuff died down and you thought living together would help with expenses, and it did. There are other perks as well such as, Mako making you coffee every morning and when your shift is done. Sometimes when you're super tired, he will drive you home! Now here you were standing in between your roommate and General Iroh.
Mako was the one who introduced you to Iroh and the three of you hit it off right away. The chemistry between you three was through the roof and most people mistaken you for dating one of them. If only, you would think to yourself anytime someone made a comment. The three of you were fire benders and Mako and Iroh were extremely talented which helped out with practicing. Iroh had said a few months ago that he would be in Republic City for a few days but now out your door, he was talking about a few weeks.
“This is so exciting!” You tried not to squeal with excitement but you couldn’t help yourself. You elbowed Iroh in the chest softly as Mako handed you one of Iroh’s bags, “Who are you going to bunk with?” You raised an eyebrow making the older man laugh.
“I hadn’t really thought that far. When I talked to Mako yesterday we really just came up with the idea of me coming here.” Iroh gave you a quick smile has the three of you walked through the door.
“You’re planning things without me?” You looked at Mako with a confused expression making him chuckle.
“Every time I try to include you, you tell me that you don’t care. So this one time I decide something without you, you have a problem?” Mako’s tone making you roll your eyes.
“I do care!” You turned to Iroh with a toothy grin, “I care about you.” Both Mako and Iroh were laughing this time, making your face go hot.
Mako draped his arm around Iroh’s shoulder, “You can bunk with me, I have a couch in the room that is all yours.”
Iroh smiled at you both and ran his fingers through his hair “Thank you both so much for this! I’m so excited to be back at Republic City and with my two favorite fire benders.”
Soon the days turned to weeks and it sounded like Iroh would be staying longer, “I don’t know, I really like it here.” Iroh smiled at you and Mako as you both nodded your head to what he was saying.
That night the boys went to bed earlier than you. You had been sitting in your room reading before they both poked their heads in to say goodnight. You smiled at them before returning to your book. After a few minutes, you had decided to go out to the living room area to read. You quietly walked over to the couch before grabbing a blanket and getting cozy.
You could hear the boys moving around and getting comfortable but you didn’t know you would also be able to hear them. You heard one of them cough before you heard Iroh say something let left you confused, “Do you feel the same way I do on this?” You got curious and moved to the other side of the couch to hear them more. You didn’t mean to listen in but you couldn’t help yourself.
“Yeah, I mean she is beautiful and sure I’ve had my nights of thinking about her.” Mako’s confession made butterflies gather in your stomach, “What about you? I don’t mind if you feel the same way.” You were now sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for Iroh’s response.
“Oh, well, yeah I feel the same way. She’s everything.” Iroh’s voice getting a little quieter before all but whispering, “Do you think she would want to get with us?”
You gasped a little before hearing Mako cough a little as if he choked on something, “I- I don’t know. That sounds good though.” Your face was hot from all that talk but for some reason you don’t feel blind sided by their confessions.
You started noticing things changing about a week after Iroh showed up at your apartment. Iroh was a little handsy and it started to rub off on Mako because he too started to become more touchy. You didn’t mind it because all you have ever wanted was for the two of them to touch you. You couldn’t lie and say you didn’t fantasize about them all the time. They are gorgeous and your mind is always thinking about their muscular torsos and their smirks that always makes you weak in the knees. So after hearing everything you just heard, you weren’t really surprised and to answer their question, yes you were so interested.
After a few minutes you didn’t hear anything, so you went into your room and went to bed. You knew what you were going to do tomorrow.
Every day was kind of the same. You would wake up to one of them cooking breakfast which allowed you to sleep in some. You would help out where you could but most of the time they had it under control. Today though, you woke up before both of them and ran to the kitchen to start cooking. Ten to fifteen minutes later, a shirtless Mako came out of his room with Iroh behind him pulling on a shirt. You could feel your mouth open a little at the bare skin both of them showed even if it was for a few seconds. You quickly turned back to the food to ease your wondering mind, “Oh spirits.” You mumbled under your breath.
“Good morning.” Iroh mumbled as he reached for the coffee cup beside you before sitting on the counter space next to you. You could practically feel the heat radiating off of him, “Do you have any sugar to put in here?” You nodded your head before reaching above you on your tippy toes. You knew your shorts had ridden up some and were aware of how much you were showing.
For a moment, you thought you heard Mako groan from behind you. As you gave Iroh the sugar, you turned to Mako, “Are you okay?” His face went red making you raise an eyebrow with curiosity.
“Yeah! Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” Mako response made Iroh chuckle, “I’m fine I promise.”
“Sure.” You turned towards the food and brought it out to the table, “This is the time to do something.” You thought to yourself as Mako sat down beside you and Iroh across from you. You gave them both a playful smirk before pouring yourself something to drink.
“Did you sleep well last night?” Mako asked as he started to shove food into his mouth.
You could feel your face heating up but tried your best not to show anything. You glanced over at Iroh who was looking down at the paper and thought this was the moment to do it, “I slept fine.” Your hand came down to rest on Mako’s inner thigh, “What about you?”
His face said it all and before he could open his mouth to say anything, you moved your foot up against Iroh’s calf before slowly bringing it up to rest between his thighs, careful not to touch anything just yet. Iroh’s eyes shot up to meet yours before looking down at your hand and where it was.
“Though I have to be honest.” You could feel just how excited Mako was when you moved your hand higher. You smirked a little before continuing, “Once you said goodnight, I went out to read in the living room and I might of heard what you said.”  Mako made a small groan and you went to giggle but you suddenly felt Iroh’s wrist wrap around your ankle, pulling it closer until you felt how hard he was, “Oh.” You weren’t exactly prepared for this even though you planned for it, you still felt like you were at a lost now.
“So were you just going to play little games with us or were you going to do something about it?” Iroh’s tone made you bite your lip a little. You turned to look at Mako, practically begging for him to do something, anything.
“Do you want to?” Mako asked as he brought his hand to yours.
You could always count on him to be a gentleman but you knew what you wanted and you nodded your head with a small plea, “please.” That was all it really took. Mako leaned forward and crushed his lips against yours making you moan into it. You could feel Iroh get up but you didn’t know where he was until you felt him behind you. You moved away from Mako and stood up before turning and pulling Iroh against you, your lips moving against his with ease.
You felt like your body was exploding like fireworks. Everything making your senses more aware of the other person involved. Mako pulled at your shirt as your broke away from Iroh, tugging it over your head. Both men let out a groan as they saw you had nothing underneath. You started to get a little hot from their stares so you reached forward and pushed Iroh’s shirt up, trying to get him to take it off.
“I’ll get it!” Iroh said with a chuckle at your neediness. You went to protest his chuckle, but a long moan dropped from your mouth as Mako wrapped his lips around one of your nipples. His hand slithered up your body before gently palming your other breast.
“Oh fuck.” Your eyes fluttered shut at the feeling but quickly opened when you felt a pair of hands grabbed your chin.
“Watch the language.” Iroh said before kissing your lips quickly and pulling away. You couldn’t believe it. He was around his soldiers all the time and you knew they spoke worse than you, so now you had to behave. You had to see where this could get you.
“No.” You said as you felt a sharp pain run through your chest, “Ow!” Mako gently bit at your nipple to the response you gave before pulling back and looking at Iroh.
Iroh smirked at Mako before looking back at you, “Mako, do you have anything to say?”
Mako looked over your body quickly before raising an eyebrow, “Behave.”
Oh! The word made your world stop for a moment. This is exactly what you wanted, “Make me.” You all but purred the words before you felt Iroh step behind you and deliver a quick slap to your ass. You were wet, soaking wet. You wanted them to move faster, to do anything at this point. So you took matters into your own hands, and sank down onto your knees. You tilted your head up at the boys before gently pulling at Mako’s pants, “If my mouth is what is getting me into trouble, maybe it should be filled with something.” It was your turn to smile when both of the men groaned at your words.
You quickly got to work with pulling Mako’s pants down. As he pushed them further down, he bent down and brought his lips to yours making butterflies erupt in your stomach. He pulled away with another quick peck before gently grabbing your chin and directing you towards Iroh, who at this time was standing before you with nothing on. You were practically drooling and you wanted him now. Iroh walked to you and placed his hands on the side of your face, as you brought his tip to your mouth. You gave it a few kitten licks before you felt him barely jerk his hips forward. You glanced up at him as you wrapped your lips around him and took as much as you could, making the older man drop his head back with a moan. You slowly pulled off of him with a pop and looked for Mako, who was now slowly palming himself.
“Oh.” You hoped that you would have that memory in your mind forever, “Let me help.” You beckoned him over and when he was close enough, you ran your tongue along his shaft before taking him just like you did with Iroh. You kept going, your head bobbing up and down. You threw one of your hands out trying to find Iroh, and when your hand landed on his thigh, you ran your hand up resting it on his cock. You slowly started to move your hand, twisting it when you got to the top.
You switched from Mako and brought your lips back to Iroh’s who at this time, was moaning your name. You let a little spit land on his tip before getting up and sitting on the table. You laid back against your elbows before spreading your legs. Iroh glanced at you before bringing his tip to your entrance, “Are you ready?” He asked even though you were sure he already knew the answer. You were a mess right now, lips swollen and you were past the point of being wet, you were dripping. You nodded you head and he slowly sank into you.
You let out a whine as he stretched you out, “Oh fu-spiritis.” You almost said it again but you were actually worried he would stop as if it was some punishment. You locked eyes with him as he bottomed out and gradually pulled out of you. Each thrust in was like the first. He was big and you had a feeling you might feel it tomorrow. You looked past Iroh to see Mako sitting in a chair, his length in his hand as he slowly pumped it. You could see his breath catch every time you let out a moan or whine. He was just as turned on as you, “Mako, come here.”
“This view is so good though, seeing your sprawled out on the table is so sexy!” Mako bit his lip as he watched you grabbed both of your breast that were bouncing with each thrust from Iroh, “Fuck, I want those!” Mako got up from the chair and walked towards you.
Iroh looked at him and pulled out, “That isn’t a bad idea.” Mako chuckled as you got back onto your knees. Mako bent down some before spitting on his palm and rubbing it across his tip. You grabbed both of your breast, bringing them together as Mako’s cock rubbed between them. His head fell back with a low growl as he quickened the pace. Iroh brought his cock towards your mouth. You took it with pleasure and moaned at the taste of yourself. You were getting squirmy though, you were uncomfortably wet and you want some type of release and it was as if Mako knew what you were thinking.
“Here, stand up and bend over the table.” Mako pulled away and smirked at your shocked face. You would of never thought you would hear those words come out of his mouth. You turned and pressed your chest against the table. The cold table making your nipples peak. You had no time to adjust as Mako quickly thrust into you, hitting your spot at that angle.
“Oh Mako! Oh fuck!” You went to cover your mouth as you saw Iroh shaking his head, “I’m sorry.”
“Open your mouth.” Iroh was now on the other side of the table, with his length right at your mouth. You did as you were told and opened your mouth. You didn't have to do a lot of moving for every time Mako thrusted forward you took more of Iroh in your mouth. You were moaning with pure pleasure. This is something you have always wanted and you could feel yourself getting tighter.
“Oh Mako! I’m going to cum. Im-I’m cumming.” Your eyes fluttered shut as your wrapped tight around him. You could feel his hips stuttered and his moans became more whiny as he pulled out and came on your back. You glanced up at Iroh who had now pulled away from you and was pumping himself, “On my face? I want it so badly Iroh. Please put it on my face!”
Iroh was wrecked. You begging for it was what sent him over. You closed your eyes as you felt the warmth hit your face. His moans echoing off the quiet room.  You tried to catch your breath as you heard both men huffing around you. You slowly opened your eyes to see Iroh smiling at you.
You could feel your face get hot as you realized what just happened and what you were covered in. You reached around the table before finding someones shirt and wiping your face off, “So, that happened.” You were feeling slightly exposed so you grabbed one of the blankets off the couch and sat down next to Mako who dropped his head onto your shoulder, “It was fun though!” Both men chuckled at you as Iroh moved to sit on the other side of you.
“We could do it again later if you want?” Mako mumbled into your shoulder. You hummed in agreement before turning to Iroh who was nodding his head and smiling at you.
“With both or alone? I wouldn’t mind having each of you to myself.”

Tip Jar
**********
You knew you had to get ready for work, but at the moment, you didn’t care. His hand rested heavy on your hip, grip tight enough to bruise, while his other held your body up against his. He pounded into you, low groans and pants right next to your ear letting you know just how close he was.
“You take me so good, baby girl. So fucking wet for me,” he rasped before biting down on the juncture between your neck and shoulder, muffling his noises. You whined, wanting to hear him just as much as he wanted to hear you. He seemed to get the message, kissing the fresh mark before he started talking again. “You’re gonna be late, but you just had to get fucked, didn’t you? Last night wasn’t enough, you just needed me again. I can feel you getting tighter, are you close, baby?”
“Fuck, Daveed, I’m so close. Please,” you whined as he somehow managed to speed up his thrusts.
“Please what, baby? I wanna hear you say it for me.”
“Please let me cum!” Daveed practically growled as the words left you, bringing his hand from your waist to rub your clit. He always rewarded your obedience.
“Cum for me, baby girl,” he demanded. The second he gave permission, you could feel the jolts of pleasure through your body as you coated his length in your release. He didn’t last much longer, his thrusts staggered as he chased his own pleasure. He pushed as deep into you as he could before he came with a loud groan, holding you close to him. “Fuck, you always do so good for me.”
You could already feel the fatigue settling in as Daveed moved you to lay with him, his arms around you. If you weren’t already running behind schedule, you would’ve loved to stay there with him, ignoring the mess between your legs until the last possible second. Maybe you’d both drift back into sleep, then go for a lazier round when you woke up again. Maybe he’d join you in the shower, complaining about how hot you always ran the water. But nope, you were already risking being late.
“Alright, let me up. I gotta go shower,” you said, trying to get out of his hold.
“No, lay with me a bit longer,” he whined. You tried not to laugh; he was always so clingy after sex, even when you were on a tight schedule like this.
“I don’t wanna be late. You can stay in bed, but I swear if you’re late, I’m gonna kick your ass,” you warned, finally slipping out of the bed. Daveed mumbled something into the pillow, but you ignored him as you left for your bathroom. As you waited for the water to heat up, you assessed the damage he’d done. Hickies adorned your bra line, finger-shaped bruises decorated your hips, and even though it wasn’t too aggressive at the moment, you could tell the bite mark he’d just left on you would bruise nicely. You ran your finger over the mark on the juncture of your neck and shoulder, so tempted to just go back to Daveed’s warmth in your bed. Before you could convince yourself to join him, you jumped in the shower.
You left Daveed in your apartment with another threat to get to the theatre on time and a reminder to lock the door after himself. The two of you never got to the theatre at the same time, trying your best to hide the little friends with benefits situation you had going on. Sure, people could tell you had a little flirty thing between you, but that was just how the two of you being friends worked. It was always nerve wracking when people (see, Lin) tried setting the two of you up, but you managed somehow. You had the feeling it wouldn’t work if the two of you tried anything more than your current arrangement, not matter how much you sincerely hoped it wasn’t true. You weren’t willing to risk it though, content with just being able to sleep with him.
You enjoyed the walk to the theatre every morning, the brisk air waking you up to deal with everything that was bound to happen during the day. Today wasn’t a show day, so that meant you didn’t have to worry about things going wrong ten minutes before curtain. Rehearsal days were actually pretty calm for the most part. Well, as calm as they could be considering at least half the cast were really just overgrown children.
As usual, you were one of the first ones in the theatre. You took the chance to do your initial once-over, making sure things were where they needed to be for the day. Though you technically were supposed to have one of the stagehands do this, you enjoyed the time to yourself before the day started. Quiet moments were rare in the theatre, and the music playing softly in your headphones allowed you to get lost in your work. The next time you’d get the chance to do this would be after rehearsals were done, and by then you would be too tired to enjoy it.
Once your check was done, all you could do was wait for the others to show up. It would be at least another half hour until people started trickling in - Leslie normally being the first to join you. You waited by the Keurig for your coffee to finish pouring, lost in your thoughts for the things you’d need to do for the day. A new stagehand was going to be joining you, and most of your day would be training them. Even though - once again - this was something one of the stagehands could do, you enjoyed doing it. Before you could get lost further in your thoughts, you jumped at the feeling of a hand placed on your waist.
“What the f-” You turned, tugging one of your earbuds out. You were kind of surprised to see Daveed standing there, smiling wide at your reaction. “What the fuck, Diggs?”
“What? You told me not to be late,” he said, still amused at how he managed to scare you. “You know, maybe you shouldn’t have both earbuds in when you’re here alone, you never know who might come in.”
“Yeah, it might be one of the asshole actors,” you bit back, finally managing to get your heart to stop racing. You turned back to grab your coffee, taking enough of a drink to burn your tongue a bit.
“I mean, you weren’t calling me an asshole this morning,” he teased, leaning in until he was just a breath away from kissing you. Despite your body yelling at you to accept his kiss, you put your hand to his chest to push him back a bit.
“Hey, what did we say about work?” You tried to remind him. Almost getting caught at work a couple times really made it so you had to set at least a couple boundaries.
“Aw, am I really not allowed to touch you, baby girl? You know no one’s gonna be here for a while, we have some time,” he tried convincing you, leaning in to press a kiss to your cheek. Even the seemingly innocent action had your heart racing yet again.
“Diggs, chill it,” you said, trying to ignore the slight whine in your tone. He was getting to you and he knew it, but he respected your words enough to step back, going to make his own coffee. “So, why are you here so early? I thought you were going back to sleep.”
“I couldn’t after that little wake up call you gave me,” he teased. You rolled your eyes even as you smiled into your cup. “So, what’s on the agenda for today?”
“You guys are gonna run through Act 2, I think. I’m not gonna be too invested in that, though.”
“Aw, why not?”
“We’re getting a new stagehand and I’m gonna train them,” you explained. “I wanna make sure they’re ready to work by the show on Saturday.”
“I’m gonna miss seeing your pretty face trying to act like you’re not staring at me.”
“Bold of you to assume I stare at you when Oak is right there.”
“It’s not assuming since I know you scream my name and not Oak’s.”
“Bold of you to assume I don’t scream his too,” you quickly took another drink to hide your satisfied smile. Daveed looked completely offended, exactly what you were going for with your little jab. If you hadn’t been at work, you knew he would do something about it, but he was just going to have to go about rehearsal dealing with it. You didn’t know if there would be repercussions later, but that was all part of the fun.
“You little…”
“Wow, Daveed actually woke up early today?” Leslie interrupted the two of you, already sounding like he’d been awake and ready to go for ages. You didn’t know how true that was, considering it was barely nine in the morning, but he was always ready to go.
“Dude, I’m capable of waking up early.”
“Really? You were dead before that one interview we had-”
“That was at six in the morning!”
“Get on my level, Diggs. I have to wake up that early every day except for show days,” you teased. “Normally Leslie and I get the chance to hang out before everyone else shows up, you’re kinda killing our routine.”
“You hurt me, (y/n). Here I was thinking I’d surprise you by showing up early, but apparently I’m just unwanted,” Daveed whined, finally taking his coffee so Leslie could make one if he wanted to. Leslie was quick to jump in, making himself a mug of tea for the morning.
“I’m glad you understand,” Leslie quipped. “(Y/n) and I have to stick to our routine.”
“I see how it is. I’m gonna go take a nap in my dressing room, come get me when people who aren’t mean get here.” Daveed was practically pouting as he left the two of you, cradling his coffee mug in his hands. As soon as he was out of sight - and earshot - you and Leslie couldn’t hold in your laughter anymore.
“He’s so easy to mess with,” Leslie said once he finally caught his breath. “So, the new stagehand starts today, right?”
“Yeah, I don’t know when they’re supposed to get here, but I’ll probably be training them for the rest of the week.”
“Wait, aren’t you supposed to set when the stagehands get here?”
“Well, yeah, but if people get here early or like a few minutes late then I’m not gonna hold it against them. Public transportation isn’t exactly reliable and traffic is a bitch,” you said, shrugging. “Kinda bummed Angel resigned, though. They were really reliable.”
“I’m sure you’ll be able to whip this one into shape pretty fast, though. Don’t worry about rehearsal, I’ll handle it,” Leslie reassured you. If someone could keep an eye on everyone, then rehearsal was bound to go smoothly.
“You’re literally the best, you have no idea how much I appreciate you.” Leslie smiled brightly at your praise.
“You do a lot for us, I just wanna make things easier for you. So, are you and Diggs, you know?”
As amazing as Leslie was, he could also be a bit of a gossip. Not that he would ever share anything, he just liked knowing things. “Nah, you know we’re not like that,” you brushed him off.
“I mean, you could be. I share a dressing room with the guy. I know he likes you,” Leslie said. You had to admit, you were a bit intrigued by this. While you knew the both of you definitely had sexual chemistry - as if the frequent nights spent together weren’t enough to confirm as much - you figured that was where the line was drawn. I mean, you could definitely be physically attracted to someone without being romantically interested in them, and you were sure Daveed only really saw you as a friend. If he didn’t, he would’ve told you by now, right?
“What’re you talking about, Leslie? We’re just friends,” you insisted.
“Sure. So you don’t wanna know what he says about you?”
“And here I was thinking you weren’t a gossip.”
“I’m not usually, I’m just tired of you two dancing around each other.”
“Now you know Diggs can’t dance.”
“Oh haha very funny,” Leslie said deadpan, staring at you. You were trying to use humor to cover up your own curiosity. There was the chance Leslie was just thinking too much into things, being the romantic at heart that he is, and if you got your hopes up just to find out Diggs didn’t actually like you like that? Nope, it wasn’t worth it.
“Thank you, I try,” you said with a smile. “Now, tell me how Nicolette’s doing. I haven’t seen her in a while.”
“You know, sometimes I think you like my wife more than you like me.”
“Of course I like your wife more than I like you.” Leslie held his hand to his chest in mock hurt. You smiled. Mornings with Leslie were always fun.
**********
Everyone else started trickling in within the next half hour or so. Diggs finally came out of his dressing room once Anthony and Oak got to the theatre, having some form of protection from your and Leslie’s “bullying”, as he put it. Once most of the cast got to the theatre, you began looking around for the new stagehand. Just as you were prepared to send them a text, you heard someone coming up behind you. You looked up, prepared to help whoever was coming up to you, when you realized you didn’t recognize this person.
“Uh, hi. Are you (y/n)?” He asked fidgeting with the strap of his messenger bag. Oh Lord, he’s kinda cute. That’s a problem.
“That would be me! Are you Michael?” He nodded, still looking around as though he was scanning the room. Of course he’d be nervous, it was his first day on a pretty major show. He was honestly adorable, and you couldn’t figure out if you wanted to protect him or pursue him.
“Yeah, uh, sorry I’m a little late.”
“No worries, I know how traffic is. Just try not to be more than fifteen minutes late or I’ll actually have to note it down. Right, I’ll show you where your locker is and then I’ll give you a tour of the place before I start your training. You’ve worked as a stagehand before, right?”
“Yeah, but mainly for community theatre. This is like… really different for me,” he admitted, getting a little flustered. Instead of fiddling with his messenger bag, he went to adjust his glasses, making you melt just a little bit.
“It’s not so bad. C’mon, let’s go,” you nodded towards the locker area, smiling at him.
Daveed watched you from across the room, wondering who you were talking to. He’d never seen the guy around before, and now you were walking off with him. He turned his attention back to the group he was sitting with. “Hey, Leslie. Who’s that guy (y/n)’s talking to?”
“Oh, I guess her new stagehand showed up,” Leslie commented, following Daveed’s gaze. “They’re gonna be working pretty close while she trains him.”
“Shit, really? Why can’t someone else train him?”
“Hey, Diggs, why do you care so much?” Anthony decided to jump in, seeing a prime opportunity for teasing. “I thought you said y’all were just friends.”
“We are! I just don’t like the idea of her being alone with that guy.”
“You sure you don’t like her? Kinda sounds like you’re jealous,” Oak commented.
“Man, shut up. When are we starting?” Diggs asked, trying to change the subject. He looked around, trying to see if he could spot you from where he was, but you were gone. Shit.
**********
Training the new guy ended up taking a lot more of your time than you expected. He was quick to pick up on the little tech stuff from his previous jobs, but you still had to prime him for working with your crew and the cast. Michael stuck close to your side, asking you about little things to make sure he’d be ready for Saturday’s show. Even when he didn’t have to be there - during breaks and lunch - he still hung out with you, just chatting about anything. You had to admit, you really liked his company. He was a good kid.
Being so busy meant you didn’t really get to hang out with Daveed as much, the only real time you got with him was when he insisted on walking you back to your apartment. There were a couple times when you were walking that Daveed took your hand in his, making your heart race. It wasn’t an uncommon thing for him to do, but with Leslie’s teasing at the back of your mind, you couldn’t help but read more into it. Then again, this was Daveed: your best friend that you happened to sleep with multiple times a week.
When the two of you got to your building, Daveed would kiss you on the front steps, that little fire and hunger burning in the movements of his lips against yours. Your body and mind buzzed, overwhelmed with the sensation of him, but your exhaustion would nag at the back of your mind, making you break the kiss far too soon for either of your liking.
“Can I come in?” Daveed would ask, desire evident in the way he looked down at you.
“I’m sorry, I’m just too tired tonight,” you’d apologize even as you wanted to lead him up to your apartment, to your bed. Even though you could tell he was a little disappointed, he nodded, respecting your decision. With a promise to text you when he got back to his place - and the unspoken promise to call until you both fell asleep - Daveed would call a Lyft to take him away for the night.
As you laid in bed, listening to Daveed’s voice over your phone speaker tell you random stories and whatever just popped into his head, you couldn’t help but imagine how nice it would be if you could actually do this. If you could actually fall asleep to him next to you, his arms wrapped around you, maybe pressing a kiss to your head when he thought you were asleep. Sure, when the two of you fucked, he would stay the night and hold you in his arms, talking to you as you drifted off to sleep, but you knew it wasn’t the same. Even though the two of you were friends, you couldn’t imagine you having a right to that if you didn’t provide benefits for the night. So you would settle for the phone calls and the calls of your domestic fantasies.
By the time Saturday rolled around, you were kind of excited. You’d get to sleep in since you didn’t need to be at the theatre until noon, Michael was going to have his first run without you hovering over him like an overprotective mom, and you were finally going to have the chance to spend some time with Daveed after the show. You had to admit, you were looking forward to that last one the most. Not sleeping with him for almost a full week and having that post-show adrenaline? It was going to be fun.
Once you got to the theatre, you were energized. You’d gotten more sleep than you usually did, you decided to splurge a bit on a drink from the overpriced coffee shop down the street, you actually had breakfast for once, things were looking like they were going to be good. As soon as you walked in, Daveed quickly attached himself to your side before Michael had the chance to. This, of course, led to teasing from the others.
“Dude’s acting like he was going through withdrawals,” Anthony joked when he was sure you and Daveed could hear him. He was talking his shit and he wanted you to know it.
“Don’t act like you’re not like this with Jazzy,” you quipped back. As sweet as Anthony (normally) was, he was whipped for Jazzy and everyone knew it.
“Yeah, but she’s my girlfriend. You tryna say something about you and Diggs?” Anthony shot back. Fuck, he had you there.
“Sorry you don’t have any friends so you can’t relate,” Daveed saved you. Anthony glared at him.
“Then what’re all you guys?”
“Coworkers,” you said, completely deadpan. Anthony’s glare turned into a look of hurt. You almost felt bad for him.
“You know what? I don’t like getting bullied like this.”
“Then don’t start shit you can’t finish, Ramos,” you told him. As much of a sweetheart he could be, he was definitely a little shit too. You were beginning to notice that was a bit of a common theme with the people you worked with.
When you and Diggs were in his dressing room later before the show - you putting his mic on for the show - he took your hand and pressed a kiss to your palm. You weren’t used to him being touchy like this, so your immediate response was to gently shove his face with your hand and tell him to stop it while you laughed. He smiled at you, letting you do your job.
“So, you gonna come over tonight after the show?” Daveed asked.
“I dunno, am I?”
“C’mon, it’s been a while. I know I’m not the only one that’s a mess, baby girl.” Heat rushed through you at the pet name, one normally reserved for just the bedroom or when he was trying to rile you up. And he was really succeeding at that second thing. Before you could answer, though, there was a knock on the door. “Come in.”
“Hey, uh, (y/n)?” Michael asked, peeking his head in the room. He brightened up when he saw you were in there, though you had no doubt he’d been asking around to find you. “Can I ask you a quick question before show starts?”
“Yeah, sure thing! Just let me finish up with Diggs’ mic and I’ll be out,” you said. Michael smiled brightly before excusing himself, closing the door again. You looked down at Daveed to find him glaring at the door.
“Yeah, you’re definitely coming to mine tonight.” You just tilted your head in confusion, but Daveed only waved you off. You shrugged, finishing your job. You’d have time to ask him after the show.
**********
The show went by a lot faster than you expected it to. Then again, when you were running around backstage, making sure everyone was ready and in places and didn’t have any costume or tech mishaps, you didn’t have a real concept of time. In the brief break you had during intermission, Michael found himself at your side, gushing about how cool the entire thing was. You watched him with a fond smile, glad things were going well during his first official show. You could feel someone looking at you, though, and looked up to find Daveed watching you, obviously not paying attention to whatever Leslie was telling him.
You kept it at the back of your mind as Act 2 started, getting back to your job. There would be time to question him about everything later. Act 2 flew past just as quickly as Act 1, and you watched in the wings as everyone took their bows. Daveed spotted you, giving you a bright smile. As soon as curtains closed, Daveed rushed up to you.
“Just let me get changed and then we’ll head out,” he told you. You could see him almost lean in, but he stopped himself at the last second, opting to ruffle your hair instead before booking it to his dressing room.
“Asshole!” you called out after him even as you laughed. You went to grab your backpack from your locker, not really having a way to kill time after the show. You could always talk to some of your coworkers, but you were sure they just wanted to head home as soon as possible too. You leaned against the wall, just messing around on your phone, when you heard someone walk up to you.
“Hey, (y/n)! I think the show went great!” Michael said as soon as you looked up.
“Yeah, it really did! I heard good things about you today, but how’d your first day go?” You asked, pushing yourself up from the wall. Michael immediately jumped into telling you about everything, really giving off puppy energy. You didn’t know how long you were talking to him, but you could tell he was dancing around something.
“You know, I really appreciate you taking the time to train me yourself. I’m sure I wouldn’t’ve done half as good if you didn’t. Uh, do you think I could like take you out for drinks or something as thanks if you’re not doing anything right now?” Michael finally said.
“Sorry, she has plans,” Daveed said, seemingly coming out of nowhere to put his arm around your shoulders. You jumped slightly at the sudden contact.
“Oh, really?”
“Yeah, she’s gonna get fucked until she can’t walk tomorrow.” This immediately drew a gasp of his name from you, but he ignored it and continued. “She’s mine, so you might wanna think again about asking her out.”
Before Michael could even think of saying anything else, Daveed practically dragged you out of the theatre. You struggled to keep up with him, cursing his long legs as you tried to figure out what the hell was going on. A Lyft was already waiting for the two of you outside, and he opened the door for you to get in. The ride was quiet, tension heavy in the air between the two of you, and you could tell the driver was a little uncomfortable even though they had no idea what was going on. As soon as you were in Daveed’s apartment, you turned to him.
“What the hell was that?! You really just said that to the new guy?! What the fuck is your problem?” You demanded as he closed the door behind him.
“He obviously has a crush on you, I needed to make sure he knew where he stood,” Daveed said as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Even if he does have a crush on me - which I’m pretty sure he doesn’t - you don’t have the right to do that shit! We’re literally just fucking, it’s not like you’re my boyfriend or anything.” You inhaled sharply as Daveed took a step into your space.
“You don’t get it, do you?” Daveed asked, looking down at you. You tried to straighten up to your full height, but the height difference was still enough to make you feel small.
“Get what?” You tried to keep the venom in your tone even as your heart raced.
“It’s not just fucking. It’s hanging out with you even when we don’t do anything. It’s doing anything to make you smile, even if it’s because you’re bullying me. It’s being nervous to hold your hand but never wanting to let go. It’s wanting to just hold you when we’re in bed, not wanting to let you get up in the morning. I’m so fucking in love with you, and I have been for months now,” Daveed said, cupping your face. “I don’t want you with anyone else. You’re mine.”
“Wait, what?” You didn’t know how to process everything he just told you. You needed a second for it to register, and just as Daveed was about to speak again, you cut him off, pulling him down for a kiss. You didn’t know how to explain it, but this one was different from all the other times you’d kissed him, even from the first one. When you pulled back, you smiled at him. “You’re so sappy.”
“What, did you need time to load?” Daveed teased.
“Well, yeah. I didn’t exactly expect to get a confession from the guy I’ve been silently pining over for way too long now,” you admitted, pulling him back down for another kiss. You almost got upset with the little smile you could feel against your lips, but there were more pressing matters at hand. You broke the kiss again, pleased at the way he seemed to chase your lips. “Now, uh, what was it you told Michael? I was gonna get fucked until I can’t walk tomorrow?”
You could immediately see the change in him, a wicked smile growing on his lips. “You wanna play that game, baby girl?”
You nodded, biting your lip as the air around you seemed to change. The tension from before was back, but instead of the unbearable silence that plagued you on the ride back to his place, it was laced with anticipation. Daveed pulled you back in, one hand on the nape of your neck to hold you to him. His other hand started roaming, tracing lightly along your side before settling on your hip. When he was sure you wouldn’t break the kiss, he brought his other hand down. He bent down slightly, hands moving to your thighs. He pulled back for a breath before giving you a simple demand. “Jump.”
You did as he said, jumping just enough for him to wrap your legs around his waist. He started walking to his bedroom, distracting you with kisses and nips to your neck. The first night you guys spent together, you’d set up some ground rules to not get caught, the first one being absolutely no marks that couldn’t be hidden. That rule seemed to go out the window now that there was nothing to hide. A small whimper escaped you at the mark he was sucking high on your neck, not used to the sensation there.
His distraction worked; before you knew it, he was placing you on the edge of his bed. As soon as his hands were free from carrying you, they went to the front of your shirt, unbuttoning it with practiced ease. His lips followed his hands, kissing down your front. He ended up kneeled between your legs, letting your shirt fall open and frame your figure. “Talk to me, baby girl. What’s the safe word?”
“Red, and yellow if I need a second,” you recited. Just the fact that Daveed made sure to do the check in meant you were in for it, and you couldn’t be more excited.
“Good girl.” You barely had a second to process his words before he pressed up to kiss you, pushing your shirt off of your shoulders. Your bra was quick to follow, and once your top was exposed, Daveed pushed you to lay on your back. He planted his arm beside your head, caging you in as he lowered his body to yours. The kiss would break for a second just to let you get more air before he reclaimed your lips, and as much as you loved kissing Daveed, you needed more. You knew this was all part of his teasing, and as much as you were normally a brat, you needed him.
“Please,” you whimpered out, rolling your hips against his. You could feel his arousal so close to where you needed him, separated only by a few layers of clothes.
“Please what, baby?” You couldn’t see his smirk, but you knew it was there.
“Touch me.”
“I’m already touching you, isn’t this enough? If you’re gonna be greedy, you gotta tell me what you want.” Against his words, he started trailing his free hand down the side of your face, down your neck, down, down, down, stopping right at your waistband. He pressed his lips to your neck, letting you feel his smile. “What do you want, baby girl?”
“Daveed, fuck, please. I want you to fuck me,” you said, trying to grind into him again. His hand at your waistband held down your hips, not letting you have any room for movement. He sat back on his knees, looking down at you.
“There you go, baby. All you had to do was ask.” He undid your pants, the sound of the zipper seeming to echo in the room as he slowly pulled it down. You wanted to complain about him still teasing, but you knew you wouldn’t get what you wanted if you did. He pulled your pants down and off, you lifting your hips to help ease the way. You reached down to remove your panties, just wanting the job to be done already, but Daveed gently smacked your hands away. “No. I wanna take a bit to look at you, all gorgeous and needy.”
“Stop teasing,” you whined.
“Normally you’re such a brat. What happened?” Daveed asked, still teasing. His hand toyed at the hem of your panties, the slight touch enough to make you shiver.
“I thought you like when I listen to you,” you shot back, finally moving to sit up. You liked his little games, but you were starting to get tired of it. You needed him to touch you, actually touch you, and if he kept going like this, it was going to take forever. Before he could say whatever smart ass remark he was going to, you pulled him by his shirt into a deep kiss. You broke the kiss for a second, starting to tug off his shirt. It didn’t take more than a second for him to realize what you wanted, quickly taking it off. You went back to work, not wanting to give up the slight bit of control you had gained.
You moved your kisses down his neck, wanting to leave some marks of your own. As your hand trailed down to palm his erection through his sweats, he grabbed the back of your hair, forcing you to look at him. His pupils were lust blown, he was panting slightly, and he looked like he was seconds away from losing it. You had the feeling you didn’t look much better. “Nuh uh, baby. Did you forget who’s in charge here?”
“It’s gonna be me if you don’t hurry up,” you challenged. You inhaled sharply when the hand in your hair tightened its hold, but you kept your eyes locked with his.
“There’s the brat I love,” he said with a small huff of amusement, trying not to smile. He moved you back to lay down, finally touching you where you needed him, even if it was still over your panties. “You know how I know you like these little games? You always get so fucking wet for me.”
Daveed pressed one more kiss to your lips before settling between your thighs, pulling your panties off and tossing them somewhere to the side. You leaned back on your elbows, wanting to watch his next moves. He kissed your inner thigh, making your breath hitch as the simple touch lit up your nerves. You could tell he was leaving more marks as he kissed and nipped on the soft skin, not even really registering his hand moving between your legs until you jolted at the slight pressure on your clit.
Daveed moved his attention to your other thigh, repeating the motions as his thumb lazily rubbed over your clit. Your thighs tried to close on their own, only to be met by a sharp bite. Breathy whines and moans escaped your lips, your head rolling back as Daveed took his time. As much as you were expecting him to take you rough and make you beg until you were crying, this slow build up was an entirely different kind of torture. When his fingers finally teased between your folds, guiding the way for his tongue, you couldn’t help your high whine of please.
He took mercy on you, his tongue teasing your entrance before settling on tracing patterns over your clit. While his mouth worked on your clit, he eased two fingers into you, your arousal making it easy for him. Your hips bucked at the slight burn, but the way he dragged his fingertips along your walls quickly replaced the feeling. Daveed knew exactly how to take you apart, watching your reactions for the slightest changes. Just as your thighs started to quiver, the pool of arousal in you getting to just this side of too much, Daveed pulled away.
“You fucking-”
“Watch what you’re gonna say to me, baby girl. You’re already on thin fucking ice,” he warned, getting up to take off his sweats. Even though you knew he wouldn’t be gone for long, you missed his touch on you. Not that you were gonna let him know that.
“You asshole, I was almost there.” You bit your lip, barely hiding the gasp that threatened to escape you at the smack he gave to your thigh. The skin stung, but the prickling of pleasure was always enough to overwhelm it.
“I know, sweetheart.” He gave you a wicked smile as he took his place between your thighs again, resting his length against where you needed him. You didn’t even realize you whimpered at the feeling until his thumb started rubbing circles into your thigh. “Aw, someone’s needy. I only want you cumming around me when I say you can, understand?”
You nodded, but Daveed just shook his head, the little pout on his lips mocking you. “Nuh uh, baby girl. Use your words and then I can fuck you the way you want, okay?”
“Yes, I understand,” you finally said, voice smaller than you would’ve liked. You rolled your hips up, trying to feel more of him. Daveed’s hand tightened on your thigh, hard enough that you were sure you were going to have finger-shaped bruises there in the morning. “Now can you please just hurry up and-”
You cut yourself off with a whine as Daveed ran the tip through your folds, collecting your wetness before teasing the head over your entrance. His little self-satisfied smile as he slowly pushed into you was annoying, but you had better things to focus on. He pulled you closer to him, thumb rubbing circles on your thigh yet again as he rolled his hips a few times. As much as he talked about ruining you, you could always tell there was a slight hesitation before he really got into it. You loved his concern, but he did have a promise to keep. His thrusts were still slow and controlled, so you decided to give him some motivation.
“I know you can go harder than that. You know, I bet Michael would-” This time you were cut off by Daveed’s hand on your throat. You looked up, a small smile gracing your lips at finally getting what you wanted, only to falter a bit at the hard look Daveed was giving you.
“Michael wouldn’t do shit,” Daveed said, finally thrusting into you harder. You knew you shouldn’t be as smug about it as you were, but you were thriving. This was what you’d been waiting for. Your legs wrapped around his waist, your hands fisted in the blanket. Just as you were starting to get comfortable, enjoying the ride, Daveed forced your leg over his shoulder, driving his length deeper into you. “He wouldn’t know how to fuck you like I do. Even if you went to him, you’d be thinking of me. You and this pussy belong. To. Me.”
Daveed punctuated each word with a rough thrust of his hips, making you see stars. You were babbling at this point, whines and moans mixing with your pleas for more. Daveed’s hand rested on your throat, not quite choking you but acting as a reminder to watch yourself. He was treating you with the roughness you craved, and you could feel yourself getting closer as he went on. You didn’t know if you were the one that moved or it was him, but he hit that spot. That spot that had your vision edging with white, that had you yelling out as you came hard, not even bothering to ask permission. Instead of letting you ride it through like he normally did, Daveed pulled out of you, dropping your leg from his shoulder.
“Wha- why’d you stop?!” You cried out even as Daveed flipped you over to your stomach. He pulled your hips up, arching your back for him before laying a hard smack on your ass.
“Did you ask?” Daveed demanded, smacking the same spot.
“What?”
“What, you get fucked a little and forget your manners?” It finally clicked for you, a little embarrassed that Daveed had to point it out like that. Normally, you’d be apologetic, but you couldn’t really find it in you to care at the moment. You just wanted Daveed to keep fucking you, you could deal with the consequences later. You tried rolling your hips back to his, but his hands kept a tight hold on your hips.
“I’m sorry,” you whined, still not meaning it. “Please.”
Daveed huffed out a little laugh, but when you tried turning your head to look at him, his hand fisted in your hair, pushing your head down into the pillows. You would have complained, but the feeling of him sliding back into you cleared your mind of anything other than him. He was quick to go back to his fast pace, holding your head down to keep you in place. “Don’t know why I fucking asked for an apology, I know you don’t mean it. You just want me to fucking ruin you.”
You couldn’t do anything but whimper at his harsh tone, trying to fuck yourself back on him. But no, he controlled the pace, he controlled your pleasure. You were his. All you could do was take it, trying not to repeat your mistake from earlier. Time seemed to fade away as the sound is his hips against yours, your muffled moans and whines, his small grunts and praise filled the room. It wasn’t until Daveed finally let go of your hair to rub at your clit instead that you could tell he was getting close. His thrusts started getting sloppy and you could feel the build up inside of you yet again.
“Please, baby,” you whined, the two words already being a struggle. You’d hoped it would be enough, but of course it wasn’t.
“You gotta say it, baby girl,” he said, voice slightly strained from how close he was.
“Please let me cum, I wanna cum so bad, please baby please,” you kept going, only able to repeat please, baby until he finally took mercy on you. You were trying your hardest to be good, needing to be good for him, but you didn’t know how long you could keep this going.
“Fuck, such a good girl. Cum for me baby, I wanna feel you.” His permission was all you needed, your orgasm hitting you as soon as you had it. Your legs shook, nerves sensitive as Daveed chased his own release, making you cry out into the room. Daveed followed soon after, pushing deep in you as he called your name in a delicious groan.
The quiet that followed was new, your heavy breathing the only noise breaking the silence. Daveed stayed for a few seconds before slowly pulling out, making you whimper at the sensitivity. You let your hips fall, content to just stay there laying on your stomach, but Daveed had other ideas, rolling you onto your side so he could pull you into his arms.
“Hey,” he said in a near whisper, a little smile on his face as he looked down at you.
“Hey,” you said with a smile of your own. The moment was a bit cheesy, but it made you feel warm inside.
“So, how was that?”
“I mean, it was different.”
“Different good or?”
“Yeah, but just different. Like, knowing that you’re in love with me or whatever.”
“Don’t ‘or whatever’ that! Every time we’ve fucked before I’ve been in love with you,” Daveed seemed to add that last part as an afterthought. Thinking the conversation was done, you started to get up only to be pulled back to the bed. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“To go shower?” You looked at Daveed, tilting your head slightly. You were met by a hungry look, immediately sending a shiver through you.
“We’re not done yet, baby girl.”

This turned out a lot softer than I intended ... I'm just an idiot for soft kyalin so I'm sorry
Fluffy 5. "I might have slept with your robe when you were gone." and NSFW 24. "Don't talk, just spread your legs."
Lin didn't normally leave Republic City. The city needed her just like anyone needed to breathe, when she left, everything seemed to stop somehow. However, the Creeping Crystals were crossing out of the city, which led Lin to stay on an operation for 3 long days. Sleeping in inns, stakeouts and conversations in walk talks. In the end it turned out that the smuggling was just jewelry and not weapons like Lin thought. No less worrying, but even better than triads being over-armed.
When she opens the door to her apartment in the night of the fourth day out, after an afternoon of reading every report of each stolen jewel, she can only breathe relieved by the smell of home. She streches her neck and bends the metal of her belt and boots so that they connect with the wardrobe in the living room and then the top of her uniform. Her bare feet on the cold stone of the apartment are a blessing, Lin hated shoes so much she couldn't even put it into words. The police chief stretches out her arms while looking at her apartment, there are no lights on, or anything in the kitchen. Just dark green curtains and black leather furniture scattered around the living room. Kya was probably on the air temple island while she was out of town. She didn't blame her, the apartment could be a little creppy for someone from the water tribe alone.
A decent bath and her bed would be great. These are the only things that cross Lin's mind as her steps lead her to the main bedroom.
She smells her before she sees her. Kya smells like the ocean itself and a sweet touch, like honey. It was the smell that soothed Lin's nerves and she would recognize it anywhere. Just her smell, entering her nostrils, leaving her head confused.
She pushed the door, slowly and then entered with her body. She rested her eyes on the bed and immediately a pathetic smile took her mouth, a smile no one will ever see, except for her. Kya was sprawled on the big bed, white hair contrasting perfectly with the black silk sheets, she was wearing ... Lin's robe? The earthbender frowned, but she had to admit that the gold and green fabric looked beautiful on Kya's chocolate skin. One of her legs badly covered, the way the fabric seemed to embrace her shape so well. She was beautiful dressed in anything, including nothing. The police chief came over to brush her hair out of her face before placing a kiss on her hot forehead. The waterbender moves under her touch, but she doesn't wake up and Lin breathes in her scent once more before walking to the bathroom.
"Lin?" The voice stops her halfway. Kya is moving on the sheets. Lin turns around and there is an affectionate smile on her mouth when her eyes meet the waterbender's, they seem to glow blue even in the half-darkness of the room. That gleam in Lin's eyes ... It only appeared for Kya.
"Hey, thief." The healer frowns for a brief moment. Lin points to what she is wearing and her eyes fall on her body. Kya laughs.
"Ah this." She runs her fingers along the tips. "I might have slept with your robe when you were gone." Lin's eyebrows become more pronounced as she approaches the bed. Her eyes never left Kya's, not even for a second.
"Did you sleep here? All these days?" Kya nodded, getting on her knees on the bed to crawl to the edge. Her hands almost instinctively wrapped around Lin's waist, bringing her close enough until there was no distance between their bodies.
"Why?" Lin's question sounds low as the waterbender looks her in the eye. Fun shining on hers.
"It smells like you here." She replies simply, playing with Lin's top hem. Fingers up and down the defined muscles of the other woman's abdomen.
"And you decided to steal my robe because it smells like me too. Am I right?" Kya holds her lower lip between her teeth before nodding. Her hands go up to fingering Lin's shoulders and the earthbender closes her eyes, just feeling her hands work on her. It was good to be home.
"I hope it doesn't get me in trouble with my police chief." Lin's eyes seem to light up and Kya has to hold on to not involve her.
"The sentence for stealing is 1 month in prison or bail." A sigh leaves Kya's mouth as she watches that sharp jaw. It's so easy for Lin to get her out of any other thought than just her.
"What about the operation?" The waterbender's tone is low, as if the slightest disturbance could break that moment.
"It went well." Lin bent her head to the touch of her fingers on her cheek. "Smuggling jewelry. We managed to recover most of them." The healer purrs in agreement and the sound makes Lin's legs fail a little weak. Kya knows that.
"My girlfriend is so important." She murmurs, her fingers caressing that spot on the back of Lin's neck that makes her a little unsteady. The earthbender's hands wrap her, calluses and muscles against the smooth fabric of the robe. The word girlfriend still echoes in police chief's head, she likes to hear that word, she loves when Kya calls her that. "It's so sexy." She leans over, just enough to meet Lin's neck with her mouth, a more than delicate kiss is placed there and Lin shudders.
It's been 5 days. She has an excuse.
Kya's smell. Kya's breasts pressed against her chest. The way Kya's lips feel when they touch her skin. It's too much. Lin was overstimulated with just the simplest things. It was so simple for Kya. It always have been.
Kya's lips hover over hers, as if she is daring her to kiss her first. This woman ... Lin takes a deep breath. Trying to get air into the brain, it doesn't work.
"I missed you, you know?" Kya slides the index finger along the curve of Lin's nose, the slightly parted lips and then through the firm jaw. "I slept in this robe thinking it was you ... But then I woke up and you weren't there." She pouts and Lin can only say it’s adorable.
"I missed you too." She whispers. More than she could put into words. She only thought about Kya when she was away, every smile, every word, every curve her body made. The waterbender's eyes shine and it looks like Lin just gave her the best gift she ever received.
"So why aren't you kissing me yet, chief?" The smile that rises at the corners of her mouth is provocative, slightly mocking. She knows what that kind of smile does to Lin's body. She knows that the earthbender is as hungry for her touch as she has never been for anything else in the world.
She ponders for a minute. Just a minute. And then she leans down, her lips falling on Kya's as if it's the first time she's done this. Her mouth felt like a beautiful paradise to lose, it was warm, inviting and with a sweet taste. She seemed to fit so well against her body. There was no one like Kya.
Lin didn't hesitate before sliding her tongue into her lips and the waterbender murmured in approval. The sound sent a painful shiver down the back of Lin's spine and she tightened her arms around the healer's body, feeling her long fingers press the pulse points on her neck, just slightly, just enough for the exact amount of blood disappear and Lin's mind swam.
The earthbender bent down a little to find the hem of the robe, running her fingers up Kya's thighs, trying to find another piece of fabric. She grabbed the waterbender's hip with her fingers and she would have widened her eyes ... Because there was nothing there.
Kya ... Kya was wearing her robe. And only her robe. The blood started to rise to Lin's head very quickly, not even Kya's small squeeze in her throat preventing her senses from becoming completely alert. The waterbender separated her mouth just enough to chuckle.
"You didn't think that sleeping was the only thing I did with this robe, did you?" The image of Kya with her fingers tightened inside her, red cheeks, hardened breasts and sheets stained with her fluids. Lin's fingers started to shake around Kya's hips in sheer anticipation. "I moaned your name." She whispered, her voice lifting every hair on the back of Lin's neck and forcing her to close her eyes. "I moaned your name every night, Lin." She drags her name on her tongue, as if she were actually moaning and the earthbender's inner muscles tighten. Spirits. "You know ..." Lin stops her from speaking, her hands push Kya, the movement is slow, but the grip is strong enough to make the waterbender's body shiver.
"Don't talk, just spread your legs." Her voice is hoarse, her chest rises and falls with deep breaths and the knowledge that this is for her. Lin is panting just at the thought of fucking her. Kya's fingers are unstable when she unties the robe's belt to reveal the skin beneath it. Lin's eyes are bright, bright green, but now they look darker than usual. They are obscure. Kya would be afraid of that look if she wasn't just focused on making her feel good.
Lin loved Kya's thighs. Of course she loved the whole waterbender's body, but her thighs ... Those thighs were the earthbender's own paradise. Her fingers gently slide over her skin, feeling the soft heat that Kya radiates. She would spend a life just worshiping Kya's body, for sure.
The waterbender opens her legs for her almost instinctively and Lin swallows.
"Fuck." She whispers.
"I think that is precisely the point." The healer replies, even though Lin's voice saying "fuck" makes her internal muscles tighten up hard enough to make her start panting. The earthbender raises an eyebrow before sliding her fingers through her. Kya shakes. A smirk goes up into Lin's mouth as she brings her own fingers to her mouth, Kya's taste. She avoids shaking on her own.
It tastes so good.
"Lin." It's just her name. But the way Kya says it, the way her chest is already rising and falling with difficulty, her cheeks slightly flushed. Lin wants to make her come so much now it hurts.
She leans over, just enough to put an indecent kiss on Kya's mouth. The other woman leans towards her, as if she needed her touch as much as Lin needed to touch her. The police chief's lips travel down her chest, through her ribs, her stomach, to the point she wanted. She looked at the waterbender, before sinking her fingers into her thighs and her mouth falling on her.
It's Lin's name that fell out of Kya's mouth, again. Her hips lifted from the bed with the simple touch of Lin's lips against her. The earthbender appreciates the power she has over her, she slides her tongue over her again and that's when she feels the sting on her scalp. Kya's fingers sinking into her hair. The thought she needed it so much, she needed so badly for her to make her come... Lin pulled a hand away to sink two fingers on her.
Kya cursed out loud and it made Lin mumble as she opened her mouth to suck on her. Her legs are shaking around her, pride is shining in Lin her, but also need. She pulls her fingers to slip them again, the movements are calculated and smooth. Just enough to maker her want more.
The waterbender is panting. Just the image of Lin between her legs, her mouth on her, her fingers on her. It's devotion. She thinks. It must be devotion. Her fingers tighten against her head.
"Lin." She moans again, she is asking. Lin knows. She know every tone of Kya's voice, she knows when she wants it deeper and stronger even when she doesn't say it.
Lin's fingers increase the intensity of the thrusts, she knows Kya will not need much. It's been 5 days.
She looks up. Her mouth still wrapped around her bundle of nerves, fingers sunk into her. Just her eyes. It's everything the waterbender needs. She feels all the heat build up in her belly and then release. Kya's head drops to the nearest pillow when the orgasm hits her hard enough to make her senses unstable. Lin moved her fingers a few more times, just to prolong her pleasure. She puts a gentle kiss in her inner thighs before lifting herself over her body, kissing her belly and between her breasts and then returning to her eyes. It's devotion.
Kya touches her face, fingers gently pulling her by the cheeks to her lips. Her own taste is in Lin's mouth makes her murmur on the earthbender's lips, opening her mouth to taste her even more.
She is not stronger, but it's easy to push Lin by the shoulders to mount her hips because she's not fighting. She would never fight against Kya's touch again.
"You just made a thief come, chief Beifong." Lin's eyes light up and Kya laughs when she leans over to her, her mouth hovering over her lips. "Let's see if I can reduce my sentence."

Hamilton Inaccuracies/Corrections (because why not?)
Okay so, I saw a post on reddit that was like, “what’s some inaccuracies in Hamilton off the top of your head?” and I got a whole bunch...and then I had to double check to make sure if I was right...and I’m pretty long-winded...and  now I have this 5,000ish word monstrosity. And apparently you can only post 1000 characters at a time on reddit. Laaaaame. So here’s some Hamilton facts I’ve gathered in my brain. Since it was kinda off the top of my head despite being so long, it’s kinda vague in some places, so if anyone wants to expand on anything (or correct me if I oopsed somewhere) please do! Though nicely please.
Also I am also awful at citing things, but I know I learned some of this from @john-laurens and @ciceroprofacto so thank you.
LET’S BEGIN!
Act 1
Rachel Faucette was not a prostitute, but she was a “whore” in the sense that she did what she fucking wanted with her body. During her first marriage she may or may not have been sleeping around, but she refused to stay with John Lavien, her husband, anymore. So he had her arrested. And he could do that. Because patriarchy and theocracy. And she was essentially put in solitary confinement. You can see why she tried to leave, right? She tried to get their marriage annulled or get a divorce. I forget what the issue was but she couldn’t and eventually she just moved to another island where she met James Hamilton.
The intro song makes it seem like Alexander was an only child. He actually had an older brother, James Jr., but he kinda fucked off after their mother died, working and taking care of himself. They also had an older half-brother Peter Lavien, but I don’t think they really knew him other than as the son of their mother’s abusive ex who took everything from them when she died. John Lavien was able to do that because when Rachel was with James Hamilton, she had not been able to get legally divorced from him so she wasn’t really married to James Hamilton, so James Jr. and Alexander were illegitimate ie bastards. He was an asshole. I don't think Peter had anything against the Hamiltons, but I think he grew up to be a Loyalist so. He actually made some trouble in South Carolina for Henry Laurens, John's dad! But I think I read somewhere he also left money for Alex and James Jr. In his will, which is sweet.
This is more visual since it’s not specified in the song, but in the show, Hamilton’s cousin mimes hanging himself. Peter Lytton’s cause of death if I recall was inconclusive, but he was in his bed and there was a lot of blood. So, yeah, he didn’t hang himself.
Alexander did not punch the bursar. However he did return to Princeton later during the war and blew a canon through the school and apparently decapitated a painting of King George lololol. He was under orders, but yknow. Probably felt pretty good after he was rejected for accelerated courses. He wasn’t the only bastard rejected, though! Ben Franklin’s bastard son was too. The guy in charge of admissions, Witherspoon, hated bastards as a concept and Princeton was a very religious school at the time I believe.
It may have been the plan by Aaron and Esther Burr for Aaron Jr to graduate Princeton, but like, he couldn’t really be sure of that? He was like 2 years old when they died, and his older sister Sally was 4 I believe, maybe 5.
Hercules Mulligan met Alex in 1772. His older brother Hugh knew Alex’s old employer in St. Croix and helped him get to mainland America. Alex and Hercules lived together for a long while, and Hercules is actually who got him interested in the revolution.
John Laurens was in England in 1776. He wouldn’t meet Hamilton and Lafayette until he accepted his post as Washington’s aide-de-camp upon his return in August of 1777.
Lafayette couldn’t have met Hamilton before August 1777 because that’s when he met Washington, and he was appointed as a volunteer to the Continental Army only a week prior, and before that he had been in France. But Lafayette later declared their relationship to be like that of brothers, Alexander his closest connection in the states besides Washington.
Lafayette admired and absolutely adored Laurens and they were besties, but neither of them knew Mulligan. They may have met in passing, or heard about him from Hamilton, but nothing more.
“Lafayette” was actually a nickname based on his title of “Marquis de la Fayette”. In his autobiography, he wrote: “It’s not my fault I was baptized like a Spaniard, with the name of every conceivable saint who might offer me more protection in battle.” I’m glad he thought it was funny at least. His name is Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de la Fayette.
Hercules Mulligan is not known to fuck horses.
The Revolution had already sorta started. Actually, Hercules and Alexander had been part of local militias before 1776.
This is more of a miscommunication since the actors are close in age, though the lyrics try to get it across. There’s a reason Mulligan says he’s got the others “in loco parentis”. In 1776 Hamilton and Lafayette would have been 19, Laurens would have been 22, and Mulligan would have been 36.
I think we all know “Laurens, I like you a lot” does not cover the scope of their relationship but that’s rather self explanatory so unless someone asks I’ll leave it at that. And for other clarifications. But at the very least I’ll share this: Anyone who saw them knew they were like attached at the hip (without knowing how attached *winkwonk*) and you could almost always contact one through the other. Laurens was notoriously bad at answering letters, to Hamilton too (and Alex did bitch about it because he is insecure and needs love), but it became quickly known he got back to Hamilton fastest so people would be like “Tell Laurens I said hi!” or “Hey, I need to get these to Laurens, you send them to him.” Which is hilarious. I just imagine Alexander going, “Why me?”
While all of them are Revolutionaries, Laurens is the only one you could solidly call an abolitionist, and Mulligan’s even shaky on the manumission part. He was supposedly part of the Manumission Society Hamilton helped start, but Mulligan also personally owned slaves and was never known to have freed them (One helped him with spy shit. His name was Cato!). In fairness, Hamilton and Lafayette wholeheartedly agreed with Laurens, and Hamilton was the biggest supporter of his battalion plan, and both of them did try to continue working towards equality after the war, but it was never the top priority for either of them and their lives kinda went to hell, so it fell to the wayside. Lafayette actually did some nifty stuff worth looking at, and Hamilton might have tried to keep one of John Lauren’s freed men from Henry Laurens! But as slavery stuck around for a while, it clearly wasn’t anything significant.
Angelica would meet and befriend Thomas Jefferson in Europe, but she would never manage to convince him to put women in a sequel because he’s a huge misogynist and told her in multiple letters that politics isn’t for women and I think he deserves a shoe up his southern backside. Side note, it always bothered me that Lin played up the misogyny in the musical. I mean, yeah, all of them would be misogynists compared to us, but for their time, Hamilton wasn’t so bad. If there was anyone to play up misogyny with, it was Jefferson, because he would tell Angelica for years and years that politics could never make women happy, and that the women in France were foolish for trying etc.. Hamilton would actually discuss politics with Angelica frequently and openly. And there’s a proto-feminist in the cast that was never recognized—Aaron Burr! He respected Theodosia Sr. as an equal and she was his most valuable political ally, and he made sure Theodosia Jr. got the same education any boy of her time would have. He actually respected women to a decent degree. Not to say he wasn't as much of a ho as Hamilton cuz yeah that's accurate (but they were both disaster bisexuals more on Burr's sexuality later)
Farmer Refuted was an essay Hamilton wrote arguing against Samuel Seabury's posts. They weren't shouting in the public square(but Lin got the sass right. I love his face when Hamilton and Seabury are fighting over the podium). Seabury was also really really old, not young and cute like Thayne, hence the line about "mange". Blech.
General Montgomery didn’t take a bullet in the neck, it was a grapeshot from a canon in his head (and his thighs), but close enough I guess. Side note: Burr actually served a short interim on Washington’s staff, but only for like 10 days because they hated each other lolol.
Alexander didn’t bring Laurens, Mulligan, or Lafayette to Washington. Lafayette joined up with the Continental Army in 1777 and quickly convinced them he wasn’t like the other French nobles; he was a glory-seeking kid with a boner for America (for some reason???). Laurens was requested by Washington to join his military family and he arrived also in August 1777 just after Lafayette. Like previously stated, Mulligan was doing shit even before Hamilton did.
Alexander would not have been in charge of spy shit (though may have been somewhat involved). Washington had people like Mulligan for that, who actually saved Washington a few times. But also, the "King’s men who might let some things slide" was the tactic Mulligan used. He was actually very charming, and his wife was very high in British society and he was a skilled tailor, so they were thought of well among the redcoats, and he got a lot of information through chatting with his customers. He also could usually smooth-talk his way out of trouble. Actually, Mulligan blended in so well, when the war was over, people in the city wanted him out cuz they thought he was a Loyalist. So George fucking Washington paid him a visit and commissioned I think a coat from him, and that cleared that up. He got a LOT of business after that.
Alexander would not be Washington’s right hand man, or at least, not his only one if Lin was using that to mean aide-de-camp. In that case, Laurens would also be Washington’s right hand man, along with many men not named in the musical.
John Laurens may have been reliable with the ladies (comes with the territory of being hot, rich, and a perfect gentleman), but he most certainly didn’t want to be. His father noted, rather proudly at the time, that as a young teenager he expressed no interest in girls. John was also married by 1780, and at least Alexander knew. (he told John he'd found out in the well-known April 1779 letter. You know... “Cold in my professions...find me a wife...the length of my nose...” That one.) Because John apparently didn't tell people he was married. Laurens. Sweetheart. Get. Your. Shit. Together.
John also would not be at this ball. February 1779 to March 1780 he is fighting down south, and this ball was early 1780.
The tomcat thing may be half true. Martha Washington did supposedly name a cat Hamilton, but it was an affectionate thing. The slang tomcat meaning ho wasn’t a thing at that time, so it couldn’t be named to tease Alex for his promiscuity. I believe this was one of the many things John Adams made up to slander Hamilton.
Hamilton and Eliza had met before 1780. They had met once two years prior at a dinner her father had hosted. Also, Hamilton had been courting her friend Kitty Livingston, and his friend and fellow aide Tench Tilghman had been attempting to court Eliza, and they’d actually done at least one sort-of double date (which is adorable). So this shouldn’t have been the first time they’d seen each other. Could still be when they fell in love, though, since they started courting after this. Which is cute to think about.
Speaking of Tench and Eliza! I don't remember when this took place but Tilghman journaled it, he went out on something of a hike with a few ladies and they got to a cliff. Of course, he had to help the girls climb up. Except Eliza who started climbing by herself like a natural to the bewilderment and likely horror of the other ladies. Elizabeth Schuyler was a bamf okay?
Of course everyone knows by now, Angelica was married before Eliza. During the Winter’s Ball, she’d already eloped with Jack Carter aka John Barker Church and run away to Boston.
Their courtship was not that fast. Not like, weeks. More like months. Fun fact, Eliza is the only of the five (yes FIVE) Schuyler sisters who didn’t elope and actually got her parents permission! But here’s a heartbreaking fun fact: while Alex was courting Eliza, Laurens was taken prisoner and then on probation. He wasn’t allowed to leave the state of Pennsylvania. He was mentally in a very dark place. Alex kind of procrastinated telling Laurens about Eliza, didn’t say he was courting anyone until they were already engaged.
I can't leave this alone if I'm sad you have to be too. Alex was hella depressed during this time too. Of course he was a soldier so he couldn't see Eliza as much as he'd have liked. On top of that, he kept pushing for an exchange for John and kept getting rejected because they couldn't show preference for him. And then Laurens was sending him very few letters, of course, and the ones he did send were very depressed, even suicidal sounding. He had to work while dealing with that. He had to keep begging Eliza to write to him to be reassured that she still liked him.
No one could show up for Hamilton for the wedding. Some sources say fellow aide James McHenry showed up, but he’s the only one. Alexander even invited his deadbeat dad, offered to pay all his travel expenses and everything, guess how that turned out. So Eliza’s side of the hall was packed and his was empty. God, can you imagine how sad that is?
Another heartbreaking fun fact! John Laurens was out of probation and could have made it to the wedding, was invited (Hamilton, I kid you not, jokingly invited him to a threesome with his new wife in a letter: “I wish you were at liberty to transgress the bounds of Pensylvania. I would invite you after the fall to Albany to be witness to the final consummation.” (emphasis is original to Hamilton. As is the misspelling of Pennsylvania. Yes, seriously.)) and John did not go. Instead he went back to work trying to talk his way out of getting sent as an envoy to France and suggesting Alexander to take his place. You know. His boyfriend who just got married. Sure, he was right that Hamilton was better equipped for the job, but yknow. Another fun fact, one of the guys who voted for John to be the one to go to France was John’s ex-boyfriend Francis Kinloch. Who was a turncoat, and had been a royalist when he and Laurens split. How’s that for some twisty bullshit.
Sorry, this one isn’t about the musical, it’s a tangent, I just got excited about that quote. Both that style of innuendo and the misspelling of Pennsylvania are consistent in Hamilton’s writing. Listening to john-lauren’s podcast about the April 1779 letter can really help you understand how Hammy uses innuendo but also I just love listening to it it’s insightful and hilarious and I love John Laurens but y u do this and my heart hurts for Hamilton but he is also a ho but aNYWAY. As for Pensylvania...well, he kinda made that mistake on an important document. ...It’s The Constitution. He misspelled Pennsylvania on The Constitution. No big deal. Not like something that could haunt his legacy forever. Oh my god I’m so sorry.
Philip Schuyler did have sons. Five in fact. Two of them died pretty young though I think, considering there are three kids in a row named John Bradstreet Schuyler. The other two were named Philip Jeremiah and Rensselaer.
Laurens, Lafayette, and Mulligan were all married before Hamilton. Hercules Mulligan married Elizabeth Sanders in 1773. Lafayette married his beloved Adrienne in 1774. John Laurens was regretfully obliged to marry Martha Manning in 1776.
Sigh. Again with the misogyny. Anyway, I wanted to comment on the marriage as a loss of freedom. From what I can tell, Elizabeth helped Hercules with his spy work at home. John was literally fighting a war across the ocean from his wife, and probably having an illegal affair with Alexander (though to be fair to him, he was kind of running away from Martha because he didn't marry her for love, gosh, there are no winners here). Lafayette absolutely adored his wife but still was also fighting a war an ocean away, and had multiple affairs, at least one with his wife’s blessing. So yeah, losing your freedom with marriage? Bullshit.
Despite where it is in the musical and Eliza singing the beginning, Stay Alive is roughly about Valley Forge, which would be December of 1777 through June of 78. So before the ball and wedding. (Fun fact! A lot of people theorize Valley Forge as when Hamilton and Laurens’ relationship may have escalated into romantic and/or sexual territory. They may have had more privacy, as small temporary buildings were being made to better withstand the cold, and Hamilton was sick a lot during that time and did need tending a lot. West Indian boi did not like Northern winter.) But yeah, Congress being stupid and the army resorting to eating their horses sometimes and not being able to buy food and equipment? All true. It was a real bad winter.
Mulligan wouldn’t have to go back to New York, he never would have left. He remained there as a tailor and a spy throughout the war. He wouldn’t have been traveling with Washington.
Hamilton and Laurens didn't write essays so much as start working out John's battalion plan and writing letters trying to push for it.
This duel happened in 1778, so like. This timeline is so fucky.
Stay Alive makes it seem like Hamilton was the one who wanted to duel Lee, but it was 100% Laurens from the start. The off-Broadway version demonstrates it a bit better. Hamilton was Lauren's second to save his ass. Hamilton had a rough relationship with Washington, but Laurens admired him greatly and would have willingly defended his commander’s honor. John was a Good Boy who always bowed his head to his asshole father, even at first for his battalion plan, but John wouldn’t let even his father talk shit about Washington. Fun fact about this duel, Alex and John were late to the duel because they “got lost in the woods”. Oooookay. Suuuuuuure. And Baron von Steuben was straight. (Fact: Steuben was very gay and pretty much pushed out of Europe for it. And he actually also had challenged Lee! They talked things out before this.)
Aaron Burr was not Charles Lee’s second. His second was a Major Evan Edwards. Lin wanted a parallel with the final duel. To be fair, that was a really cool way to do it and I like it better that way.
Alexander Hamilton could NOT agree that duels are dumb and immature. He was in 10 duel challenges as a participant in his lifetime, 9 of which he was the challenger. One time he challenged two people at once. One time he challenged an entire politcal party apparently. No, I am not kidding. He had a bad day. And I think you know the one time he wasn’t the challenger.
Lee did not yield on the first shot, nor was Laurens satisfied. Lee was pretty much like, “It’s just a flesh wound!” and wanted to go another round and Laurens agreed, but Hamilton and Edwards managed to talk them down. Yes he was shot in the side. But that wasn’t all because Laurens absolutely roasted Lee at his court martial.
Lee: Were you ever in an action before?
Laurens: I have been in several actions; I did not call that an action, as there was no action previous to the retreat.
I love this man. So much. The sass of this man.
We don’t know if Washington was angry about the duel with Lee. We do know that Laurens, and probably Hamilton, had Christmas dinner with him two days later. When Hamilton left, it was because Washington had snapped over a misunderstanding (caused by Lafayette actually, and he really tried to make it better because Lafayette is a sweetheart), and then continued to deny Hamilton the command he requested, and he resigned. It was entirely unrelated to the duel and Laurens. However, the daddy issues are real.
I don’t know if Lafayette went to France for more funds and came back with more guns, but Laurens certainly did! Ben Franklin told him to chill, but he actually got super impatient and ended up supposedly disrespecting and maybe kinda threatening the court, demanding what he needed, and walking out. They were were kind of shocked and impressed into giving more than had been requested. Any existing deities bless John Laurens. I love him.
Lafayette actually nominated his own aide to lead the charge and Hamilton appealed for himself and Washington finally gave in to Hamilton.
Laurens was not in South Carolina. When he finally got back from France, he was sent to Yorktown. He actually was commanding the group Alexander led. (Power couple lol) He also helped with negotiations after the battle. Also, supposedly making the British play ‘The World Turned Upside Down’ on their way out was Laurens’ idea because boy is made of sass and spite.
Henry Laurens would not have sent a letter to Hamilton about John’s death. Even if he would have, he couldn’t. At that time, he’d been locked up in the Tower of London as a prisoner. We have no idea when or how Alexander found out, or who might have told him. We know he wrote to Nathanael Greene on October 25 and Lafayette on November 3 (literally 2 months after Laurens' death), and the mentions of Laurens were very short. It’s thought that he really couldn’t talk about Laurens. People have compared it to the stories of how Benjamin Tallmadge apparently couldn’t hear Nathan Hale’s name without crying.
After Yorktown Alexander resigned and John went down south to flush British troops out of the southern states. His group was ambushed at Combahee River and he decided to charge instead of wait for backup and he died. Many people think it was a combination of his usual recklessness, suicidality, and glory-seeking mixed with a desperation with the war coming to an end. It was such a small skirmish. He deserved better. He left his daughter, Frances, whom he had never met, orphaned, as her mother had died months earlier from sickness. She was adopted by John’s oldest younger sister, also coincidentally Martha Laurens (though married was Martha Laurens Ramsay).
The Levi Weeks case was years later than that, in 1800, though it was alongside Burr. Hamilton actually lost his first trial as a defense lawyer and was not with Burr.
The whole conversation where Hamilton proposes Burr help him write the Federalist Papers is fake. Lin made that up entirely.
John Church’s wealth kinda...varies. He was a gambler. At first, he was actually in quite a bit of debt. He did make it big eventually and he and Angelica moved to Europe. He really didn’t seem to be a lot of fun to most people, but Angelica eloped with him. She chose him against her father’s wishes. I don’t get why Lin kept writing lines saying she didn’t love him, at least at first. He also does this in the cut song Congratulations where she says “I languished in a loveless marriage” bish you eloped wat She also lived as a socialite and was adored by anyone who met her apparently, so like???? da fuq Lin. Didja really do Laurens dirty for these lies or at the very least uncertanties? Could you not prop up that romance without making her say she hates her husband?
Act 2
More of a personality miscommunication. Irl Thomas Jefferson was shy, quiet, and hypersensitive, nothing like how Daveed plays him. If you knew a guy like the real Jefferson in real life you might be endeared to him out of pity or because he seems sweet, but in the short time of a musical that would immediately be read as cold and unlikable. So the best way to portray “this guy is a likable asshole” is to make him loud and made of sass which is what Daveed does magnificently. So, not at all accurate to real Jefferson, but gets the concept of him across.
Thomas was not off getting high with the French. Probably. He was making negotiations for the Revolution. And abusing Sally Hemings (his, at the time, 14 year old slave, who was also his sister-in-law, and 30 years his junior, and was brought along to entertain his daughter). And actually probably chatting up with Angelica!
By the time Philip was 9, he had two sisters, Angelica (7) and his foster/adopted sister Frances Antill (6), but he also had two brothers already, Alexander Jr. (5) and James Alexander (3), with maybe another one on the way since William Stephen would be born next year.
The whole comma thing is backwards. It was Angelica who made the initial mistake. Hamilton pointedly and flirtatiously teased her about it before closing it with “Adieu ma chere, soeur” French for “Goodbye my dear, sister”. So it’s more playful and less lovey dovey in context, so the tone is all wrong. It’s not romantic, it’s teasing and snarky.
Say No To This feels like it’s over quick. The affair lasted a year, not just the summer Eliza was away.
Clermont Street wasn’t renamed until many years later.
I don’t know that Alex has always considered Burr a friend. Irl they weren’t as close, and Hamilton was keenly aware of how slimy Burr could be.
Lafayette was NOT fine. He was imprisoned a lot during the French Revolution, the poor man, and many members of his wife’s family were killed. HOWEVER! Hamilton was not just sitting by. Angelica and her husband did make an attempt to rescue Lafayette, and the Hamiltons fostered Lafayette’s son Georges Washington Lafayette (yes that was his actual name). So Hamilton also did not forget Lafayette.
Not all his defendants got acquitted, obviously. Stop being cocky, Ham.
People comment on how Jefferson whines about Hamilton’s fashion sense while literally dressed in violet velvet. The original plan was to have him in browns, but Daveed is just such a friggin star that they just had to give him something brighter and decided to go with a Prince-inspired look. Originally the browns were going to be representative of his supposed representation of farmers. Though note here: Jefferson’s agricultural representation is much the same as modern Republicans’ rural representation. More for show.
Actually, let's get political for a sec. I've done some research in my hyperfixation and in searches for Hamilton shiz I've ended up stumbling into far-right nonsense and I know how to recognize the degrees of nonsense from years of actually paying attention to it now because this is what I do apparently. Which is weird, right? Lin kinda portrays him like a lefty. Well, here's the thing. Any proud historically educated Republican will tell you that their roots are in the Federalist Party. Which is technically true. What they will neglect to mention is the flip between parties that happened when the Republicans decided to use southerners racism to their advantage in elections. Being subtly racist can get the racists and the non-racists on your side! Yeah, it's gross. Federalists are more like Democrats. The corporatists. They clearly care more about companies and Wall Street, but they put actual action into social progress on rare occasion. Democratic-Republicans are like Republicans, conservatives who don't want social change and rail against it and pretend they aren't for corporate interests while being just as bad as the other guys. But Republicans have a tendency to rewrite history to paint themselves as the good guys, or reclaim things that aren't theirs as their own. Just look at the Civil War! Or...literally just...America I guess. Yikes. But yeah, here's your warning. Don't just go looking at and trusting things labelled Federalist. It likely won't be friendly.
John Adams didn’t fire Hamilton, Hamilton left. Eventually. And this is not the only time this kind of verbal confrontation happens, and not the one that destroys the Federalist Party. That actually happens after the Reynolds Pamphlet. But John Adams hates Alexander Hamilton with the burning passion of a thousand suns and really kinda earns this.
I’m not sure if he specifically called Alex a Creole bastard but I wouldn’t be surprised, there were other similar racist and bastard-related insults. You know the tomcat thing mentioned above. He started the rumor of the affair with Angelica. He accused him of being a rake (male version of whore at the time). He also may have behind closed doors accused him of being a sodomite. His (probably gay) son Charles helped with that one, bringing back rumors from a dinner he had with Hamilton (who he was working for) and John Church because Church joked about Alex being fond of a guy. Adams probably thought working for Hamilton was what made his son gay and alcoholic (Charles was an alcoholic and may have died in part because of that; Hamilton was not an alcoholic, but he supposedly could not hold his drink. He was smol).
Jefferson, Madison, and Burr didn’t accuse Hamilton of speculation. It was James Monroe, Abraham Venable, and Frederick Muhlenberg. Lin wanted to keep consistent representation of the Democratic-Republican party. But anyway, the whole thing went to hell because Monroe sent the letters to Jefferson (or I’ve also heard Monroe gave them to Madison who sent them to Jefferson) who, the spiteful gangly fucker, started spreading rumors because fuck Hamilton, amirite? Hamilton challenged Monroe to a duel over that. And who stopped this duel? Aaron Burr. He gets to be the good guy now and then.
It wasn’t just total strangers that got Alex off the island. He was sponsored by his cousin Ann Lytton and his teacher Reverend Hugh Knox. Also, he was kind of expected to get an education and come back and help out the island...guess what he never did. Oops.
This one I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure. I think Eliza was upstate with her family when the Reynolds Pamphlet was released, away from Alex. I also know she had recently given birth to their son, William Stephen. A lot of people think Alexander had been keeping that in mind. Eliza had had a miscarriage once before, when she was under a lot of stress and alone and with the kids and he had to be away (Whiskey Rebellion), so some people think he made sure she was surrounded by her family and waited until the child was born to drop this on her, and gave her distance from him if she needed it. At least he knew he fucked up, and he really did love her.
Those weren’t Alexander’s guns. They belonged to John Church.
It was quite some time between Philip’s challenge and the actual duel.
Another age miscommunication; Eacker was 27ish and Philip was 19 when the duel happened. There was a whole 8 years between them!
Eacker didn’t shoot early. Actually, both of them stood staring at each other for a really long time doing nothing. But Philip went to make a move and Eacker shot him.
Alex and Eliza had made up from the Reynolds Pamphlet bullshit before Philip died. When he passed, Eliza was already pregnant with the son they would also name Philip in honor of his older brother.
Hamilton wasn’t really the deciding factor in the election of 1800. But he did say that about Burr and it did help swing the vote somewhat. But also, this was before Philip died. Philip died in 1801.
If a vote is that close, you can’t win in a landslide??? That’s not how words work???? Mister Miranda????? You are a writer??????? Sir???????
Burr actually held a term as Jefferson’s Vice President.
The Burr vs Hamilton Duel was in 1804 and was actually about another election and other things Hamilton was saying about him. Burr was running to be governor of New York and lost but heard about Alexander telling people the things he listed Alexander saying in Your Obedient Servant.
Thayne should not have played Alexander’s doctor. Sydney should have played Alexander’s doctor. Do you know why? Philip and Alexander had the same doctor when they died. Alexander took that doctor with him to the duel. His name was David Hosack.
While there’s evidence to suggest Burr experienced immediate regret (he stepped forward as if wanting to see if Hamilton was okay and supposedly asked after him and wished him well before Alexander passed) in the years that followed, until he was on his death bed, he expressed nothing but neutrality or even pride for having shot Hamilton. The ‘the world was wide enough’ comment could plausibly be entirely made up, and even if it were true, it was supposedly said toward the end of Burr’s life. Burr's life was quite a ride after Alex. He tried to make like his own empire out of Texas, and then of course was tried for treason, but he got out of that, but then everyone hated him for that ON TOP OF already hating him for killing Hamilton, so he had some crazy journey around Europe for a while. He kept a journal, writing entries like letters to Theo. The most notable things I think he writes he'd "been amused for an hour with a very handsome young Dane. Don't smile. It is a male!" which implies maybe Theodosia knew her dad was bi and was at least amused by it? And he spent a while living with Jeremy Bentham, who is generally accepted to have been gay (if you want more Burr gayness look into Jonathan Bellamy and Robert Troup. Troup knew Hamilton too!). Unrelated to his sexuality but I find it important, Burr spent, in modern cash, $40 on a coconut, in his own words, "like an ass." He returned to America eventually. I dont remember if it was before or after his foreign adventures, but his beloved grandson (also named Aaron Burr) died, and then not long after, Theodosia was lost at sea on her way to visit her dad. No one knows what happened to her. It's so sad. Anyway he married a wealthy widow named Eliza, spent all her money on charity, and died the day their divorce was finalized. And Eliza Jumel's divorce lawyer was Alexander Hamilton Jr..
Poor Eliza couldn’t go through all of her husband’s papers. Her son, John Church Hamilton, finished the work for her when she no longer could and put together the biography that inspired Chernow’s that inspired Lin’s musical. (He named a son Alexander and a daughter Elizabeth. He even named one of his sons Laurens! Aw.) And we have come full circle.
The End :33
There’s probably more but that’s what I’ve got. Thanks for reading!

The next few days you spent with constant anxiety. Should you text him? He said it was only for emergencies but… what kind of emergencies would even arise that he would need to help you with? Would you make something up or just try to strike up a casual conversation? Why were you obsessing so much over it?
A few days later you sat on your apartment balcony drinking while mindlessly scrolling on your phone. The alcohol spread a nice warmth throughout your body even though it was cold outside. As you sat there alone, you felt the familiar feeling of loneliness kick in, and even more so, the feeling of missing In-ho.
Why did you have to miss him so much? It was a constant argument with yourself in your head. Logically you shouldn’t want him, shouldn’t want to be around him, shouldn’t be attracted to him. You just couldn’t help yourself. You couldn’t keep yourself from wanting him, from thinking about him, from touching yourself to the thought of him.
You let out an exasperated sigh, setting down your phone and taking a sip of your drink.
Fuck it.
You grabbed your phone again and went to your messages app. You started typing in his number, which you shamefully memorized already. It was for emergencies, right? You started typing your message but your drunken mind could barely come up with anything to say.
“Hi”
You promptly hit send and all but threw the phone back on the table. You immediately felt embarrassed and stood up, leaning on the balcony. Why did you say something so stupid? You could’ve come up with something more clever than that , you thought to yourself. You tried not to think about it but couldn’t suppress the anxiety in waiting for his response.
After a few minutes, you took your things inside, getting ready for bed. You threw your phone on your bed and went to your closet to change. As you were doing so, you heard the text chime on your phone, prompting you to run to your phone.
“I said to only text me for emergencies. What’s going on?”
You sighed, rolling your eyes. You finished getting dressed and crawled into bed.
You: “I might have an emergency”
In-ho: “?”
Y: “I’m sad”
I: “That’s not an emergency.”
Y: “Well it feels like it”
I: “Are you drinking? Go to sleep.”
Y: “Maybe”
I: “Ok. Go to sleep.”
Y: “I don’t want to”
I: “Then you’ll stay sad.”
Y: “I’ll be sad either way”
I: “You won’t be if you’re asleep.”
Y: “Yes I will. In my dreams”
I: “You won’t.”
Y: “I’m always sad when you’re not here”
You froze. You sent that message without thinking, instantly regretting it. You laid there in shock for a few minutes, unsure if he would respond to you.
I: “Y/n. Go to sleep.”
Y: “Ok… goodnight”
You set your phone down and curled up under the blankets. You knew you crossed a line again, closing your eyes and hoping to fall asleep and forget about it.
~~~
In-ho had been unsuccessfully trying to fall asleep that night when he heard his phone chime from a text. Reaching for it in bed, he noticed it was from you. He instantly became alert, expecting you to have an emergency.
“Hi”
He sighed. He immediately knew you were probably drunk, texting him at this hour. Although he’d never admit it to himself, he slightly wished you’d text him outside of emergencies. But, he wanted to be sure, so he asked if you were okay.
After it was clear you were fine, his heart dropped seeing your “I’m sad” text. He understood the feeling all too well lately. He knew you were drunk, so he tried to convince you to go to sleep. But when you sent “I’m always sad when you’re not here,” he couldn’t find the right words to respond.
Lately he’d been trying to occupy his mind with other things, but couldn’t shake thoughts of you. When you asked him to come into your apartment, it took everything in him to decline. He knew if he accepted he’d cross a line and do something he could never take back.
But when you sent him that text, it was even harder for him not to drive straight to your apartment to comfort you. All he wanted was to be with you. It wasn’t enough anymore to stroke himself until he came thinking of you, he needed you in person.
But he couldn’t. He had to face the harsh reality. The two of you could never be together, it would only end in hurt.
So he ignored what you said and told you to go to sleep. He could sense you also felt the tension when you texted him your simple reply.
He set his phone down, attempting once again to go to sleep but failing miserably, his mind tormented throughout the night with thoughts of you.
~~~
A couple weeks later, you found yourself at a nearby bar, looking for a change in scenery. You hadn’t spoken to In-ho since the night you drunkenly texted him, feeling embarrassed at your confession to him. It hadn’t changed how you felt about him, though.
You sat at a small table for two near the window, enjoying your drink and the view. It was nice to be out of your apartment as you hadn’t left for a while. As you were sitting there, you heard a familiar voice next to you. You looked up and were shocked to see your former boss and business partner, Cho Sang-woo.
“Y/n. What a.. pleasant surprise.”
At first you were shocked, then disgusted and annoyed. This was the man that threw you under the bus to keep his job, sending you into spiraling debt. You scoffed and looked away.
“Unfortunately I can’t say the same for you.”
Sang-woo sat at the chair across from you. It was clear he was drunk. “Come on, you don’t have to be like that.”
You shot a glare at him. “Seriously? Leave me alone.”
“Y/n, I’m sorry. You know I’m sorry. I had to do what I did to save myself. I’m sorry it went down like that.”
You sighed. “I don’t need to hear shit from you. I don’t even know why you think you can sit here and talk to me like we’re acquaintances or something. Leave me alone. ”
Sang-woo sighed and leaned back in his chair. “Calm down, would you? I know I fucked you over, I’m sorry. But it looks like everything turned out just fine for you.”
You rolled your eyes and scanned the room, looking for a server to close your check. As you were looking, you noticed In-ho entering the bar, walking towards a table across the room.
Your heart jumped. What the hell was he doing here?
He didn’t notice you, of course. He was with someone else. Another woman.
Your face dropped, your mind overwhelmed with jealousy. Was he on a date?
You squeezed your eyes shut and turned back to Sang-woo. “You know nothing about me. I told you to leave me the fuck alone.”
You got up to approach the bar but Sang-woo stood up and roughly grabbed your arm. He pulled you close and whispered, the scent of alcohol strong on his breath, “Don’t forget I helped you out first. We wouldn’t be in this situation if you hadn’t fucked everything up. Don’t act like you’re so much better than me.” You struggled to get out of his grasp but his hand stayed painfully glued to your arm. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing? Let me go.”
“Why won’t you just talk to me? The past is in the past, let’s just move forward, huh? I know you had a thing for me back then.” He looked at you up and down and smiled in a disgusting way that made your skin crawl.
You let out a disgusted sigh and continued to struggle against him. You were about to kick him in the groin when you heard someone approach from behind.
“What exactly do you think you’re doing?” It was In-ho. You turned your head in shock. He was intently staring at Sang-woo, who chuckled. “This isn’t any of your business, why don’t you leave us alone?”
In-ho looked at you, noticing you grimace at Sang-woo gripping your arm. His face hardened and in an instant, he punched Sang-woo in the face.
Sang-woo stumbled backwards, glasses flying off his face. He let go of your arm and shoved In-ho. “What the fuck is your problem?”
In-ho shoved him back and grasped his shirt collar. “You’re my problem. Leave this woman alone and get the fuck out of here, or I’ll make you regret it.” He shoved Sang-woo again and turned towards you. “Let’s go.”
You silently followed him out of the restaurant. In-ho opened his phone, sending a text and looking at you. “Are you okay?”
You met eyes. “Yes, I’m.. fine. Thank you.”
“Who is that guy?” You rolled your eyes. “My former boss.”
In-ho sighed and looked away. After a few moments, he said, “I called you a car to take you home.”
The two of you stood there in silence for a few minutes. You turned to him. “You can go back inside you know, I can wait by myself. Since you're on a date or something, it looks like…” Your voice trailed off and you looked away. You couldn’t hide the annoyance and disappointment on your face. He just looked so good, dressed in all black.
In-ho lightly chuckled. “You say it like I’m doing something wrong.”
You looked back at him, attempting to give your best poker face. “Not at all.”
He slightly smiled. “I’m allowed to date, aren’t I?”
You rolled your eyes, looking away. “Of course you are, I don’t know why you feel the need to ask me.”
“It’s nothing serious. Just a distraction.”
“From what?” He paused. “Everything.”
You gave him a somber look. You still felt embarrassed from your text conversation, you knew it was written all over your face, so you looked away to hide it.
He sighed and stood there, waiting with you. When the car approached, you gave him a slight smile before saying goodnight and parting ways. As you left, In-ho couldn’t ignore the sinking feeling in his chest.
Seeing you with that man sent him into a fury. He noticed you almost instantly after entering the restaurant, and when he saw that man grab your arm he couldn’t help from intervening.
He sighed and stayed outside. He went on this stupid date just to get his mind off of you, but after everything that just happened he just wanted to go home. He went back inside and made a stupid excuse to leave. It was pointless, anyways, because nothing could get his mind off of you.
~~~
Several weeks went by and you found yourself back on the island, preparing for the next round of games. You couldn’t contain your excitement at coming back. Finally you had something to do, and finally you’d see In-ho more often.
You arrived in the evening, settling into the same bedroom as before. After unpacking your things, you walked throughout the main room, immediately noticing two chairs instead of one. You then noticed someone in the kitchen.
You walked in the kitchen and noticed In-ho opening a bottle of wine, your favorite, to pour into a couple glasses. He looked at you and lightly smiled.
“Welcome back.”
You smiled back, trying to keep your excitement in but failing. “It’s good to be back.”
In-ho handed you a glass of wine, eyeing you. “I never would have thought you’d be so happy to be here.”
You looked away. “Well… you never know how things change.”
You sat in a comfortable silence for a few moments. He looked at you. “You are happy, right?”
You looked down, feeling your face flush. You sighed. The wine was already getting to you.
“You know I am.”
He lightly smiled, looking down. “Get some rest tonight. We’ll go over everything in the morning.” He set his glass down, looking at you. “Goodnight.”
Your eyes met and your face flushed even more. “Goodnight, In-ho.”
That night, neither of you could sleep, filled with desire and anticipation for what would come next for the two of you.
~~~
The next day, In-ho met with the new host while you worked on beginning the recruitment process. Although he didn’t recognize the face, since he was masked last year, he immediately recognized the voice. This was the VIP who attempted to get you to remove your mask.
In-ho was immediately on the defense. It couldn’t have been anyone worse, in his opinion. He knew Il-nam would still be somewhat involved with the games, but things were now in this new host’s control. It infuriated him.
He sat down in a conference room to meet with the new host, who preferred to remain unnamed and demanded to be referred to simply as “the host.” He was an older man who seemed to have a resting look of disgust, from what he could see under the mask.
He eyed In-ho with skepticism. “Good to have you back. I’m looking forward to working together.”
In-ho nodded. “I am as well.”
“I’ve spoken to Il-nam, and we’d like to make some changes around here.”
“Oh?”
“Yes. So, in light of that, I’ll be staying here year round to ensure everything is done to my standard.”
Internally, In-ho cringed. “Absolutely.”
“In my opinion, Il-nam is too nice. There’s no need to sugarcoat what we do here. And I don’t need to make friends.”
“Very well.”
“Now, that being said… where is your colleague?”
“She is tending to other matters. I apologize if she was meant to be here as well.”
“No no, that’s perfectly fine.”
The two of them were silent, the host looking In-ho straight in the eye, In-ho refusing to back down.
The host sighed. “What is your relationship with her?”
“We’re colleagues.”
“And that’s it?”
“That’s it.”
“Good. And it’ll stay that way. I’ll be sure to keep you two separated. Don’t think I don’t know about what’s been going on between the two of you.”
The host glared at In-ho.
“Or you’ll regret it.”
In-ho kept his face stoic, but inside was beyond infuriated. “Nothing is going on between us.”
The host chuckled. “Maybe not, but maybe so.”
In-ho stayed silent.
“Don’t think I won’t hesitate to get rid of her. Or you.” “Understood.” The host stood up. “Good. Go find her and tell her to meet me in the lounge.” He walked out of the room.
In-ho let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding in. He knew the next several months were going to be arduous. All he wanted was to grow closer to you, but with this new host that could put you in danger.
He walked back to your main residence, noticing you on one of the chairs in the main room. He requested a new chair for you himself, that way you’d both have a place to sit. Together. But now it was looking like you two wouldn’t be spending much time together anymore.
You turned to him and his heart dropped at your face. You looked so content and happy. He just wanted to be there with you in that moment, but he knew he had to grow apart from you. And you’d barely even gotten close.
He sat next to you, facing forward and avoiding your gaze. “The host would like to see you in the VIP lounge.”
“Do you know what for?”
In-ho sighed. “No.” He got up and went to his room, slamming the door shut.
You frowned. What was up with him?
You made your way to the VIP lounge and saw the host sitting in one of the chairs. You walked towards him and he greeted you.
“Y/n. Wonderful to see you again.”
You froze. You immediately recognized him from last year, despite the mask. There’s no fucking way this guy is the host, you thought to yourself.
You stayed silent, and the host chuckled. “That’s no way to greet your superior.”
You cleared your throat. “Good to see you.”
“Sit with me.”
You reluctantly sat at a nearby chair.
“I just spoke with your… colleague. We’ll be making some big changes around here. I’ll be here for the time being to ensure everything is completed to my liking.”
“Alright.”
He eyed you. “Your colleague will be working alongside myself while you tend to other matters. We don’t need anything going on between the two of you.”
Your face hardened and you looked at the host, staying silent. You tried to hold it back but you knew he could see it written all over your face.
He chuckled. “We don’t have time for that sort of thing here. You’re here to do your job, and that’s it. Don’t cross the line or both of you will pay. Am I understood?”
“Yes.”
“Great. You’re dismissed.”
You went back to your main residence, immediately going to your bedroom. Before closing your door, you looked down the hall at In-ho's door, wondering what he was thinking.
How did they know anything was going on between you and In-ho? It’s not like anything actually happened and yet they’re acting as if you seriously crossed a line.
You were pissed. In just a day you went from being happy to be back on the island, and now it would probably be even worse than last year.
In the other room, In-ho was kept awake from the same thoughts.

It's because the writers over the years seemed to conflate edge with depth, and that just doesn't work for Plas.
In general, giving a character an edgy, shitty life has fuck all to do with how interesting they are, and it can actually backfire by making the story so grim that apathy sets in, and you don't give a shit because nothing is going to get better for whoever your reading about/watching.
I had a blast reading both Terrifics and the 2004 comic because, while there were dark moments and sad plotlines, the writers didn't fixate on them, opting to use them as a conflict to actually be overcome instead of a permanent state meant to give the characters "meaning".
Morgan and Edwina (I think that was the adopted daughter's name) had arguments with Plas, but when all was said and done, the three of them sorted their shit out as best they could and ended up loving each other as a family, realizing the places where they needed to be more merciful and understanding to each other. Plas wasn't treated like a deadbeat piece of shit, because that's not in his personality anywhere. They used his kindness and overprotective nature/misunderstanding of what it means to be a parent as his flaw, and that worked, because it didn't feel like it came out of nowhere. It felt appropriate for him, and it made for a very honest and likable arc. He was trying to be a strict dad because that's what he thought was correct and what would keep her out of trouble, but that wasn't what she needed, and he learned that in the end.
Luke and Plas's relationship was a bit more likable in Terrifics because you saw Plas putting forth effort to bond with him in a pretty believable manner, though there were still issues with the way his family was handled on the whole, because you once again have this kind of forced "Hey Plas sucks and is a deadbeat" undercurrent to the writing, but not only was he held away from his family completely out of his own control, making his family seem strangely harsh, but his interactions with Lin constantly and continuously show how kind, patient, and gentle he is towards children (and people who feel kind left out and alone in general) and how he goes to the moon and back to make sure they're alright and feel loved.
I will yell this at every given opportunity because DC frustrates me so bad with how they handle how he relates to other people. He's an ex-criminal, but he is one of the kindest damned characters they have DUE COMPLETELY TO THE FACT THAT HE'S BEEN THROUGH A TON OF SHIT AND IS EMPATHETIC. That's not something to sleep on. That's a clever setup that they keep mishandling.
BBatB placed his "repeatedly fails but is trying to get better" characteristic in a far more suitable spot, which is with him still trying to steal diamonds and shit even though he's supposed to be a hero, and you see him fucking up missions and getting in trouble because of it, and it's usually funny, too. You know beyond the shadow of a doubt that "No, this is 100% his fault", and him getting in trouble because of it usually feels warranted, and then he learns his lesson and is still likable at the end of the day. It doesn't feel like he's unfairly fighting against entropy, or that we're meant to want entropy to win. (Though they did give him an unnecessarily bitchy wife in that show too.)

The Transfer part 11
You were back reading the diary of the victim. You could see the progress of the ship and many other details. Reading took you longer, you would occasionally peek and look at what the Chief was doing. She would answer dozens of calls and do overviews of many reports. While you watched her quietly.
Her brows were furrowed down, eyeglasses hung perfectly balanced on her nose as she wrote something down.
“Do you have a problem with my face officer?” Lin asked without looking at you.
You felt your face blush at being caught. “Huh?!”
She didn't look up from her work. “If I wanted a stalker, I could've asked Korra to leave her mutt here.”
“My apologies Chief! I just- You look- I…!?” Your mind short circuited as you went back to your papers. You buried your head in the notebook to hide the embarrassment showing in your face.
The next few days you spent reading the journal and writing anything significant in your notepad. You had fallen into a routine of coming early into the office with breakfast and coffee for the both of you and eating in comfortable silence. She would do paperwork or help the rookies with their work. Sometimes she would help Saikhan with operations and other times she would have meetings with President Moon. Lunch was spent with Jia or Mako, sometimes both. Other times Korra would come along too if she was free at the moment.
Coming back every day after lunch break you would resume your work, some days Lin would arrive an hour before your shift was over or even after it. You liked to stay longer to see her return and to make sure she had eaten. If she had a lot of paperwork (almost always) you would stay with her and help her after ordering some dinner.
Coffee was the go to every night when there was too much paperwork. The beverage keeping both of you going like gasoline. Sometimes you would have to fight to keep your eyes open and after a shot of coffee your eyes would open wide like dinner plates. She never seemed faced about it though. Probably since she had been doing this for years. But you smiled, she wouldn't have to be doing things alone now that you were here, you would help her.
________
Tonight both of you had finished dinner and were working on a lot of documents. Classifying and ordering forms, placing them in boxes and organizing everything. When the clock hit midnight you went to the break room and retrieved two coffees, handing her one. You brought the sugar jar and placed it on the desk, offering some to her before sitting down. You gave your coffee two spoons of sugar before stirring it, raising the cup to your lips and taking a sip. You always enjoyed the late night cups, they always seemed to taste better. You weren't sure why, it was the same cup you drank in the morning. Something, however, made it taste especially good at this time.
You watched as Lin did the same, two spoons of sugar and a few sips. You continued with the work when you heard the metallic sound of the spoon clicking in the jar. You looked up to see the spoon completely still but positioned differently than before. You decided to ignore it and went back to work, instantly the sound was back and you snapped your head to the jar.
“You alright?” The Chief asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah, oki doki.” You replied, narrowing your eyes at the jar before looking back at your work.
This time when you heard the sound you didn't move your head, you listened carefully and looked from the corner of your eye to see the Chief pouring an ungodly amount of sugar into her coffee. You slowly and carefully moved your head so now you were staring at her. She took a sip, looking up she saw you staring and her cheeks turned red.
“What?!” She snapped.
You chuckled. “You know, you can put as much as you like. No shame there.” You said pushing the jar closer to her.
“You're making fun of me now, officer?” She growled, still embarrassed.
You quickly waved your hands. “No! No! Seriously, take as much as you want. I just didn’t know you like your coffee so sweet.”
She huffed, crossing her arms. “It’s not a big fucking deal…”
You chuckled as she glared at you. “Well, it’s a big deal for me. So, how do you like your coffee?”
She looked at you dumbfounded, her arms softened and she grabbed her coffee looking at it, the dark liquid staring back at her. “Ummm well… I like my coffee lighter, with cream and a few spoons of sugar. I’m not a fan of the bitter taste.” Lin said, rubbing the back of her neck.
“Okay, I’ll be right back” You said standing up leaving the confused earthbender on her desk.
After a few minutes you came back with a new coffee, making it as she described and settling back on her desk. “Here, I hope this one is more of your liking.” You smiled.
The blush was still on her cheeks though more subtle now. She grabbed the coffee, taking a sip and she tried hard not to smile.
“Thank you. You didn’t have to.” Lin said softly.
“Nonsense!” You smiled. “I’m enjoying my coffee, you should enjoy yours too.”
With a smile you continued with your work as the earthbender looked at her new coffee. You would occasionally look up at her, sometimes meeting her gaze, you could've sworn that she blushed every time, because you sure did. Something inside you made you feel warm seeing her so soft around you and you couldn't help but smile.
Both of you finished the last of the paperwork, you stretched out and yawned. It was already three am and you had to wake up at six. You prayed that tomorrow would be slower.
“Spirits, what a long day we had.” You chuckled walking out of the office.
Lin hummed in agreement. “You want me to take you home?”
“It's okay, I can walk, go home.” You said walking down the station’s stairs and into the sidewalk.
She grabbed your arm roughly. “You are not walking home! Are you insane?! Come on, let's get you home.”
You laughed at her frustration but followed her into the patrol car, you sat comfortably as she turned the engine.
“Have you been walking alone all this time?!” She asked, irritated.
You yawned. “I didn't want to bother you and the exercise is good for me anyways.”
“I'm driving you home myself from now on, you're asking to be mugged by walking home alone for fucks sake.” She huffed, pissed by your antics.
Her ranting was stopped when she felt your head on her shoulder as you slept quietly by her side. She was stiff as a board on her way to your apartment, not wanting to wake you until she got there. Once she arrived she gently nudged you.
“Hey, we're here, wake up.” She said firmly.
“Ten more minutes…” You yawned, getting more comfortable on her shoulder.
“Y/N don't make me carry you.” She growled.
You didn't respond too far gone in sleep to care. She sighed, grabbing your bag and looking for your keys, with them in hands she grabbed you and carried you bridal style up your apartment stairs. Carefully unlocking the door she walked in, the place was neatly clean and it had a few more plants than last time, she noticed.
She carefully opened the bedroom door and laid you on the bed. She took your jacket off and rocked you a bit rough to wake you.
“Y/N if you're going to sleep in your uniform at least take your belt off. Also, you can come in at ten so you have a few more minutes of sleep.”
You didn't open your eyes though you have heard her. Instead your tired brain forced your hands to pull the belt off before you started to pull your pants down.
The earthbender quickly grabbed your blanket covering you in panic. “Well okay bye!” She said flustered as she hurried out of the room and out of the apartment, using her metalbending to lock the door.
She got into her patrol and started to drive away. Her mind was flooded with thoughts of you. She tried to think of anything else but failed miserably. Once in her building she parked her patrol and went up the front stairs where the doorman awaited her.
“Miss Beifong, more late paperwork I see.” The doorman spoke gently, opening the door and accompanying the earthbender to the elevator. He was an older gentleman, probably in his late seventies. Still he was strong and healthy. He was old fashioned and a person Lin considered a close friend.
“Yes, like always. Though I've been having help these past few nights. The transfer, Y/N has been helping me lately.” She asked.
“Ahhh I see, the hero cop.” He hummed.
Lin nodded softly. “Yeah, the crazy reckless one.”
“She must take after you.” He said in a chuckle.
Lin smirked. “You insult me Delun?”
“Oh of course not, she's a hero just like you. It brings me happiness to see you less stressed. She must be a huge help.”
Lin blushed, quickly scoffing to recover. “She's fine.”
The man raised an eyebrow and smiled. “She must be.”
Before Lin could ask what he meant they arrived at the elevator and he pressed the elevator button. “Good night Miss.”
“Night Delun.” She said softly.
Landing on her floor, she walked to the front door of her penthouse and settled her armor on the stand. She went straight to the bathroom where she undressed and turned on the shower. She allowed the water to fall on her face, trying to find anything to distract her thoughts. She cleaned herself with no urgency, finishing and dressing herself on a night gown.
Lin laid on her huge bed all alone while her mind was drowning with the thoughts of you. You were so thoughtful, maybe for you it was a simple act but for her? It was the most meaningful thing that had happened to her. She felt herself blush thinking of your smile and care, the fact you stayed to help her whenever she needed or that she even asked what she wanted and made it for her. The breakfasts and dinners to make sure she had eaten every day, made her heart warm up too.
Then Lin frowned, why would she keep thinking of you. Your kindness, the way you talked or acted. She reasoned she was just getting used to you being so open and different. Nothing more, she just appreciated your presence, not like she had a crush. Absolutely not, she was just thankful for your help, that's all.
Lin groaned, wrapping the blanket around her. “Snap out of it Lin.” She said softly before snoozing off.
________
Morning arrived, a little too fast for Lin’s liking. She arrived early at the station like every day. Feeling tired due to the late night work the other day. She watched the clock before sighing and walking around the station to mentally prepare for the day. She talked to Mako for a bit before checking the other officers and talking to Saikhan about a sting operation that would be happening in a few days.
After everything was said Lin walked back to her office, you weren't there yet. It was still seven fifty and the Chief told you to come in at ten so you could rest. You on the other hand had other plans as you all but burst through her office doors.
“Morning Chief!” You said with a wide smile. You were holding breakfast in one hand and a coffee holder on the other.
Lin was surprised to see you, most officers would kill to come in a bit later but here you were, bright and early with bags under your eyes just like hers. “Y/N, what are you doing here? I told you to stay till ten so you could rest.”
You settle everything on her desk, handing her a coffee cup. “Had to make sure you had breakfast, it's the most important meal of the day!” You said happily.
“What? Don't think I can take care of myself?” Lin raised an eyebrow.
“Did you have breakfast?” You deadpan.
She stayed silent and you smiled.
“Ahh yes, that's what I thought.” You sat on your desk eating away your sandwich.
Lin shook her head before sipping her coffee. This time she couldn't help the smile on her face as she tasted the sugar and cream.
“Lunch is on me.” She said, grabbing her sandwich.
You nodded and went back to your notes. Lin sighed contently, your presence bringing her unprecedented calmness.

What If
Happy Kantoph Mondangst! :D
I have some ideas to add to this, but perhaps I'll save that for next week ;) Thank you for reading as always!
......
Time moved, whether slowly or quickly wasn’t up to Toph, but it moved. The sun rose and fell and the days began and ended until there were too many days since she last felt him, last heard him. Almost two years, to be exact.
And time left her numb.
She lived each day to survive, and she hated that she could barely function without him. To make matters worse, Lin suffered the most from Toph’s hollow presence. She needed and wanted attention that sometimes Toph couldn’t provide, and she just knew that she was letting her daughter down.
But how could she move on? How could she just… let him go?
She didn’t know. And she feared she never would.
Her friends continued to check in with her almost everyday, and it was nice to have company, but their burden felt heavy on Toph’s shoulders, too. They should be living their lives, not babysitting her.
But time wouldn’t shake them off her back. They were a constant in her life, whether she wanted it or not.
It was probably for the best, if she was being honest.
Still, they always dragged her into saying yes to dumb shit that had absolutely nothing to do with her. Hence, the mission.
She wasn’t sure why she agreed to the mission. Toph didn’t even know why they were all gathering for this task. But based on the debrief, it was a stupid mission. It was stupid to spend so much time in the Swamp for them, and Toph specifically, to look for spirity mumbo jumbo when she couldn’t see. But the group insisted that she tag along, and it wasn’t like she had anything better to do.
When all the children were settled in Gaoling with her parents, the group flew off just like old times. And throughout the journey, everyone warned her of the visions of the Swamp, of the people she may hear or visit with.
Well, there was really only one person, but they kept that part open-ended.
For that, she was grateful.
…….
It didn’t take long for Toph to end up on her own in the Swamp.
Seriously, though. What was a blind woman doing on a mission that required having the ability to see? Only the spirits knew, and Toph went off on her own out of spite and boredom, and because she was partnered with Zuko and Katara and well…
Sometimes it was hard to hang out with the both of them. It reminded her of what she could’ve been with…
Toph shook her head and kept walking.
She casually trekked through the muddy forest of the Swamp, focusing on the sounds and vibrations around her to keep her friends within her sights so she wasn’t completely lost in a mysterious murky forest. Probably wasn’t the smartest thing for her to be on her own, but she just had to get away.
As she walked and kicked small pebbles in her path, a soft breeze arrived that alleviated some of the humidity of the swampy air. The wind had a liveliness to it, dancing around her and playing with her hair and loose clothing as she kept her brisk pace. It felt familiar to her, the wind. Almost like how someone would come up to her and tug at her clothes to get her attention, or how someone would push her bangs out of her face. As if the wind knew her thoughts, it managed to push her hair enough to tuck it behind her ear.
Suddenly, she stopped.
The breeze was laughing. His laugh. Soft, faint, teasing her to come closer. And the air left Toph’s lungs, she stood frozen in place, trying to figure out what tricks her mind was playing with her.
But then it wasn’t playing tricks with her. She heard him.
“Hey Chief.”
Her heart burst with joy and broke all at the same time, and she didn’t know what she should’ve been feeling at that moment. So she stood there, mouth agape, tears freely flowing, and her lips daring to say his name for the first time in two years.
“Kanto.”
“It’s good to see you, Toph.”
She sobbed. His voice was as warm as she remembered, and she could still hear the smile in it. But it was lighter, more airy, as if it would disappear in a moment. It didn’t ground her like it used to. If anything, it dared her to fly away with him, wherever he was.
Toph loved it, but she also hated it.
He was a ghost or a spirit, that much she knew. And that meant that she couldn’t hold him or touch him or feel his heart or his breath and she ached to feel him. But she couldn’t. So she stood there openly crying in the middle of a swamp, extending her arms and wishing she could reach out and feel him.
The breeze danced around her and she heard him speak again.
“Hey, don’t cry, Chief! I hate to see you cry, you know that.”
“I—” she sniffled, wiping her eyes and nose with her damp sleeve. “I’m sorry. I just...fuck, Kanto. I miss you.”
“I know,” he whispered. “I miss you too, Angel.”
“I just want to hold you,” she gasped. “It’s unfair.”
He sighed, or she thought he did. Every word and ‘breath’ he took gave her strength, but Toph yearned for more.
She knew she was so close to feeling him. As if one step closer would reach him, or if her arm was long enough, she’d find his soft but strong hands, or if she leaned her head, she’d find his forehead there.
But she couldn’t do any of those things. He wasn’t there. Not really.
He changed the subject. “How’s our little Linny?”
“She’s uh, she’s good,” Toph whispered. “She—she really misses you. Calls for you every night still.”
“I’m sorry I can’t be there.”
“I know.”
For some reason, Toph kept her hands held up by her waist with her palms up. She felt the wind tickle her fingers and palms, and it almost felt like his hands were holding hers again.
Almost.
“Kanto I—” Toph bit her lip, resisting the urge to burst into tears once again. “I miss you so much. I don’t know if I can do this.”
“You’re doing amazing, Toph. And you have your friends to help you.”
“But I don’t want them!” she cried. “I want you!”
“I know, but I can’t be there. Not physically, at least,” he replied, his voice calm and sad. “I miss you too.”
“Kanto—”
“Tell Lin that I love her and miss her, will you? If you want, that is. I know it might be hard to talk about me since she won’t remember me—”
“Of course I’ll tell her,” she interrupted. “And she can’t forget you. She—she won’t. I’ll make sure of it.”
He went silent, and she hoped he was smiling. She couldn’t tell anymore.
Her fingers danced with the wind.
“There’s a reason I’m here, Toph,” he spoke again softly. “I think you know why you called me here.”
Toph frowned. “I didn’t call for you, though.”
“Not exactly,” he admitted, “but you haven’t been able to let me go—”
“Why should I?” she snapped. “Am I just supposed to move on like you didn’t exist? Like you didn’t make me fall in love with you, like you didn’t give me the happiest days I’ve ever lived, like you didn’t die and break my heart into a million pieces?”
“Letting go and forgetting are two different things, Chief,” he explained. “But you haven’t been able to talk about me or even sleep in our bed.”
“Because all I can smell is your cologne and when I wake up I still reach for you. How am I supposed to survive if I keep doing that??”
“Please, Toph,” he begged, and her anger withered away when she heard the pain in his voice.
This was as hard for him as it was for her.
“You were always so much stronger than me,” he cried. “I wouldn’t be able to do what you have to do.
“But this isn’t about you or me. You have to do it all for Lin.”
“Everyone always says that,” she replied bitterly.
“Will you do it for me, then? Will you hold our baby girl when she cries at night and rock her to sleep?” he asked. “Please? I just—I hate seeing you this way over me.”
“Yeah.” Her voice caught in her throat as she attempted to laugh. “I’m a sap and it’s all your fault.”
She heard him choke out a laugh too, and the wind rushed into her.
He was so close, just a little bit further, and perhaps she’d feel his forehead against hers.
“Promise me you’ll take care of yourself and Lin,” Kanto said, his voice as intoxicating as she remembered. Her resolve disappeared with every word he spoke.
Toph let out a tired sigh as her fingers continued to dance with the breeze. “I was never able to say no to you.”
“I know."
She actually smiled. A small, weary smile, but it was nice to hear him say that again, to remember all the different things that phrase meant to each other.
The smile faded as quickly as it came when Kanto spoke again. “Toph, we’re running out of time.”
Her stomach dropped and tied itself into a thousand knots. “No,” she replied through gritted teeth. “Please, not yet.”
“We don’t get to choose. Please, Toph, you have to say it.”
“Say what?”
“You know. You have to say good—”
Toph’s eyes grew wide and she shook her head vehemently. “No! I don’t want to!”
“I know, but I’d hate myself if you lived with this regret.”
“Everything about that day I regret!” she shouted. “I should’ve told you I love you more! Made you stay at home! Or I should’ve gone to work with you! Anything that would’ve changed the outcome.”
“It wouldn’t have changed, we can’t mess with fate, babe.
“Just… do this for me. Say it all to let me go on some level. Say it before you can’t. I don’t have much time.”
“Kanto please—”
“Toph,” he interrupted urgently. “If there’s anything you want to say, now’s your chance.”
Spirits, where would she begin? She lived the last two years of her life in agony over it all, the fact that she couldn’t save him, the fact that she didn’t show him how much she loved him, the fact that she was failing as a mother when he was the very best father, all of it broke her each and every day.
There were fleeting thoughts of regret for even falling in love with him. That this wouldn’t be an issue had she just kept it professional, and she hated she even thought that way. Because without them, there wouldn’t be Lin, and even though it pained Toph to recognize Kanto in Lin, she was Toph’s everything. The earth beneath her feet, her foundation, her whole world.
She hated that she wished she was dead instead, that Kanto and Lin would’ve been better without her, or perhaps, in a deep, dark, part of her heart, she wondered what she would’ve done if Lin wasn’t in the picture… Would she even be alive?
What if she had gotten to say goodbye to him on that day? Would all of this have been easier? Toph doubted it, but what was she to do but ponder all the scenarios that told her she was living her current life wrong. That if she was stronger or smarter or more empathetic, none of this would be happening.
She resented every single “what if” that crossed her mind, because none of it mattered.
All that mattered was now. The present.
There was a rustling of leaves behind her, and his presence in the wind flickered for a moment.
They really were running out of time. Again.
“Kanto, I—I love you,” she cried out.
“I know, I love you too,” he replied quietly. Too quietly.
“Please, I just want more—I don’t know how to do this without you!”
“You’ve got your friends, your family. You have Sokka—”
“But they’re not you! I want you! You need to see Lin walk and earthbend and she does this thing when she’s mad that’s just like you—”
The rustling was getting closer.
“Toph—”
“Kanto—”
Her concentration broke for a second, because she recognized the footsteps.
“Toph!”
He was faint, so faint.
“Kanto! I—” she hesitated when Zuko broke through the vines.
The wind began to move away from her, and she ran after it. And with every last ounce of strength and breath she had, she reached out for Kanto one last time and said,
“Goodbye.”

Lin healing the bonds with her family hc?
Ohhhhhhhhhh anon you have opened up a WHOLE can of worms I have extremely strong feelings on this topic and most of them can be summed up with Lin Beifong is the Epitome of the older sibling parent trope. RANT INCOMING
Lin choosing to forgive Suyin has almost nothing to do with Suyin’s “apology” (or lack thereof). It occurs solely because Lin actively decides to be the better person in their relationship. She decides that having her sister and her niblings in her life is worth more to her than her grudge and her hurt. Which is saying something, because damn can Lin hold a grudge.
Su isn’t going to apologize; its not in her nature at all. She genuinely doesn’t recognize the need for apologies in anything. She doesn’t give them and never expects them from others. Lin knows this and decides to move on anyway.
Su did write Lin a letter asking her to come talk. Actually, she wrote several. Lin never opened a single one, determined to keep herself from getting hurt again. Its easier, especially when Su isn’t in front of her, to convince herself she doesn’t care.
Despite everything, Lin still hopes the best of her sister. Finding out that she changed her ways after being sent away, stopped with the petty crime and actually made something of herself, built an entire city and raised a pretty great family, comes with a level of relief- even if it wasn’t her to help Su see the error of her ways, at least Su was able to do so.
Lin doesn’t trust Su as far as she could throw her, especially after Su lies to her face to send Korra after Aiwei. She doesn’t trust Su to choose her to save over literally anyone else, and to be honest she has the older sibling complex that she just doesn’t have as much faith in Su’s bending skills as her own. That’s why her “I love you,” before drawing P’li’s fire sounds so much like a goodbye.
Speaking of differences in skill level, that fight between Lin and Su? Buckle your seatbelts motherfuckers I have THOUGHTS. Yes, its one of the most badass fights in the entire series, imo, but I’m gonna be real here. Su was winning. She had Lin on the defensive almost the whole time. But Lin was also at about 40% health- run down, emotionally strained, off-kilter from acupuncture treatment (which I agree with @dont-blame-it-on-the-kids was DEFINITELY not in Lin’s best interest that doctor was 100% paid off by the red lotus), and Su is taking advantage of it. If Lin had been at 100%, even like 60%, she would have WIPED THE FLOOR with Su and Su’s dancy-ass bending style. But she still held her own, even though she was literally breaths from passing the fuck out. Did you SEE some of those hits? There’s one in particular where Su hits her in the gut with a rock mid-air that physically couldn’t not have broken several of her ribs. Su’s behavior in this fight absolutely incenses me like how dare she fucking do that I JUST
All this being said I do really love Su as a character I promise.
Su’s base character hasn’t changed, but after going through the Red Lotus and Kuvira together, Lin does recognize that she’s changed in some important ways. She’s still self-oriented, but she’s not the selfish, bratty teen she was when she scarred Lin for life.
Likewise, after seeing the permanence of Lin’s scars and spending more time with her sister, Su realizes that she’s really hurt Lin. She sees how terrible she’s been to this woman who is willing to give her own life to protect everyone around her, Su especially, and actively tries to make up for it. Like I said, she doesn’t apologize with words, but tries to prove to Lin through her actions that she is going to be there for her. And the fact that Lin’s arm flickers toward her weapons whenever Su loses her temper? Su is so disgusted with herself over it that she nearly throws up the first time she thinks about it.
They’re not best friends, but they do become close. Both of their personalities mellow out with age, and they’re more understanding of each other. Su becomes someone Lin is able to talk to about some personal things, if not the extremely deep stuff. They have wine nights and Su sometimes sleeps over if she gets too tipsy. They both act a lot younger with each other, and Su is one of the only people who can snuggle up to Lin and get away with it.
Unless one of them is actively concealing their emotions (its usually Lin), they can read each other like an open book.
Lin remembers all of Su’s favorite foods and colors and activities and songs from childhood. Su realizes that she hardly remembers any of Lin’s and has a guilty meltdown to Bataar over it. He suggests that she pay really close attention to remember them now, and Su makes it her personal mission.
Despite having confronted her feelings of abandonment by Toph ages ago, Su can see that Lin not only feels abandoned but also feels like she’s the one who let their mother down, that the break in their relationship is her fault, not Su’s or Toph’s. She knows how glad she was to have Toph back in her life, even if inconsistently, and sees how much Lin wants their mother’s approval and marches into the swamp (and that’s saying something for Su, who isn’t exactly fond of gross swampy things) and drags Toph out to force her to some of Lin’s award ceremonies or other events, including her wedding to Kya. Lin doesn’t know it was Su’s doing.
“Mother Lin may have said she doesn’t hate you but she deserves more from you and spirits help me you are going to say the words “I am so proud of you” to her or I WILL tell Wing and Wei where to find you-”
Basically, Su’s main apology to Lin for all the years of pain and hurt she’s caused is to kick Toph’s ass into repairing at least some of their relationship. Its the most truly selfless thing she’s done in possibly her entire life, because she never tells Lin.
To be clear: NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF LIN HAD NOT ACTIVELY CHOSEN TO SET ASIDE HER PRIDE AND HURT AND FORGIVE HER SISTER. LIN WAS THE CATALYST- SU WOULD NOT HAVE PUT IN WORK TO EARN HER FORGIVENESS IF LIN HADN’T GIVEN IT TO START WITH. Su’s behavior in Zaofu was utter bullshit, it was not worthy of Lin’s forgiveness. She literally showed up and immediately drove a wedge between Lin and some of the most important people in her life, said horribly mean things to Lin, and used Lin’s illness as an advantage to beat the shit out of her. But Lin, strong, selfless, badass, incredible Lin who is so much more empathetic than anyone in that show gives her credit for, looks at all of that and forgives Su anyway. Its not unconditional, like I said the level of trust isn’t bone deep, but she does the legwork. And you know what, Lin deserves to have family that cares about her in her life. Her niblings adore her, and she eventually believes that Su is genuinely there for her. I will die on this hill.
I know this probably came across as incredibly disorganized and rambly. I’ll talk more about Lin’s relationship with the metal clan kids and/or Toph in another post because I recognize that I’ve gone down a fuckin rabbit hole but I have extremely strong opinions on Lin’s relationship with her sister.

I’m so glad you like it!! I was planning on writing the Halloween scene, so I feel like this will end up being a small AU maybe? Like I’ll write the main parts of their story? Who knows. But I will definitely post the Halloween scene and the scene from when things changed... For now, here’s how explaining to their friends went
This is the part one. You really need to read it to understand what’s going on in this scene.
Birthday revelations
--
Aelin was frozen.
She was staring wide eyed at all of her friends standing in her living room. Their faces were the picture of astonishment and disbelief. She knew she should go up to them and explain everything but this isn’t how she had planned it out, so she merely snuggled closer to Rowan, his arms tightening around her.
They were so fucked.
“What the actual fuck?” Lysandra said, her voice a mix of perplexity and slight betrayal. “You two… But.. How? When?”
“Aelin, you fucking snake.” Manon said, but Aelin could see the humor gleaming on her eyes and that her smile was genuine. She seemed like the only one not completely pissed. Even Elide looked a little betrayed.
“Bro, you’re banging my cousin?” Aedion’s face contorted with disgust when he looked at Aelin’s bare legs and undoubtedly saw the handprints. Vaughan gave him a slap on the back of his head.
“Aedion, please.” Yrene said, her voice calm but her face a mask of shock as everyone else. “Let them recompose themselves. They obviously weren’t expecting us.”
“What are you all doing here?” Rowan finally said, even though it was obvious what they were doing here.
“What are we doing here? What are you doing here, Rowan?” Fenrys replied, crossing his arms. When Rowan opened his mouth again, Fen raised a hand dramatically. “Don’t answer that truthfully. I don’t want details.”
Aelin’s cheeks were on fire, and Rowan’s arms hugged her a little more tightly.
“Can you guys it down so we can explain?” She said, her voice steady despite how fast her heart was beating.
She didn’t want it to be like this, neither did Rowan. They wanted to sit them all down and explain everything on their terms. Rowan wanted to talk privately with Aedion, and Aelin sure as hell didn’t want Lysandra feeling as if she didn’t trust her. And now they had waited too long and everything went to shit.
Each one of their friends found a place to sit. Manon was sitting on Dorian’s lap, Yrene and Chaol by their side on the sofa. Nehemia and Asterin were on the loveseat, Nehemia’s arm tucking Asterin close. Fenrys and Connall each sat on one of the loveseat’s armrest, Vaughan standing behind Connall.
Lorcan, Gavriel, Sartaq, Nesryn, Borte and Ren took up the chairs by the table. Lorcan pulled a stiff Elide to sit on his lap, whispering something in her ear that made her relax a little.
Lysandra and Aedion remained where they were, arms crossed.
Rowan nudged Aelin forward and they approached everyone. He sat down on an armchair, taking Aelin with him. She could have sworn Aedion flinched at that.
Rowan started to make soothing circles on her thigh, and she held one of his hands with both of hers, sweeping her fingers over his knuckles. Despite it all, Rowan seemed calm.  He was lazily leaning on the armchair, completely content to hold his girlfriend on his lap, play with her thigh and tell all of her friends and her cousin how he had been sleeping with her behind their backs.
“So, you guys are banging.” Asterin broke the silence.
Borte snorted. “Obviously. The girl looks like she just got railed, so unless they play some very wild type of boardgames in her room while in the dark, yes, they are banging.”
“Borte, for the love of god.” Nesryn murmured at the same time Sartaq said, “Borte, shut the fuck up.”
Rowan sighed, deeply and suffering. “Yes, we are…”
“Banging.” Nehemia added.
“Can we please stop using the word ‘bang’?” Chaol muttered.
“Pardon.” Nehemia looked at him impatiently. “Fucking, then.”
Chaol rolled his eyes and Aelin couldn’t help but snort.
“How?” Dorian asked, his voice dripping disbelief. After Lys, Dorian was probably the person who heard Aelin complaining about Rowan the most.
Despite herself, Aelin found herself saying, “You want to know how we fuck?”
Rowan, Vaughan, Manon and Asterin were the only ones that laughed.
“I thought you hated each other.” Fen said, his brows furrowing.
“They did. I remember High School junior Aelin running after Rowan with a knife with the full intent of killing him.” Connall looked at his brother. “Unless they’re together since then and that was some type of kink.”
“Please, I don’t want to know Aelin’s kinks.” Ren looked pained.
“Please, I don’t want to know about Rowan’s kinks either.” Lorcan added, but his voice was full of humor. The asshole must have been finding this whole situation hilarious.
“Stop using Aelin, Rowan and kinks in the same sentence for the love of god.” Aedion pleaded.
“Let them explain.” Gavriel, always the voice of reason, interrupted.
“It started on Halloween.” She started only to be then interrupted by Aedion.
“You guys have been together for six months and told no one?” His eyes widened. “Oh my god. It was when I told Lin to stay in the apartment, wasn’t it?”
“Yes, and we haven’t been together for six months.” Aelin could feel Rowan losing his patience as he explained their situation. “We slept together six months ago, but it wasn’t anything important. It was just sex then.”
“But not anymore?” Elide asked, her voice low. Something glinted on her eyes.
“That’s impossible. A relationship between them is unbelievable.” Chaol snorted and Aelin felt Rowan’s hand tightening on her leg.
“No.” Aelin shrugged, losing her patience just like Rowan. She could understand them feeling hurt because neither Aelin nor Rowan had told them anything, but acting like her relationship with Rowan was wrong made her stomach turn. “We fucked around a bit. Months, actually. We couldn’t stand each other when we weren’t fucking in the beginning, it was honestly just sex. We didn’t feel like telling anyone because once it ended, we didn’t want things to get awkward. We didn’t want the jokes, or suggestions that we should just date. It was easy and simple and telling other people would make it too real.”
Surprisingly, Lorcan, Nesryn and Connall nodded. Fenrys relaxed, and even Borte was smiling at them the way Manon had since the beginning.
“Lys and Aedion had just started dating then, and they spent most nights in our apartment, so I would come here to see Ace. In the first few nights I would arrive, we would fuck and I would leave. Slowly I started coming earlier and we would eat something. I would spend the night and we would grab breakfast together. We became friends.” Rowan shrugged.
“So you two are fuck buddies?” Ren asked.
“No, things changed two months ago after an… incident.” Aelin said and Rowan squeezed her thigh. Aelin didn’t have to look back to know he was fighting a smile. “But then we didn’t know how to tell you guys that we had been fucking for four months and told no one. Ro thought it was better for the two of us to just sit down and tell everyone at once.”
“Ace thought it would be better if she talked to the girls and I talked to the guys.” Rowan finished for her. The tension from her body had vanished, and she was completely resting her back against Rowan’s chest.
“We discussed it for a month and decided to go with Ro’s idea. But then spring break came and everyone went off to somewhere else. We decided to tell when everyone was back. We were going to do it this week after my birthday but you guys came here today.”
“So, basically, you guys have been together for six months. One way or another.” Vaughan asked and Aelin and Rowan nodded.
“Hum, good for you.” Manon said, looking at Aelin. Nehemia, Yrene and Asterin nodded, a small smile playing on their lips.
“Is that why you almost kicked me out of here earlier?” Lys asked, genuinely curious. She didn’t look as pissed as she had in the beginning.
“No. I didn’t even know Ro was coming until I opened the door an hour ago.” She sat up, crossing her legs. Rowan shifted slightly to accommodate her on his lap, his hands now on her hips. “I just didn’t want you to ditch a night with your boyfriend to stay home with me.”
Lys nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. Aelin didn’t fool herself in thinking that Lys wasn’t hurt about her silence, but it was good to know her best friend wasn’t majorly pissed.
“So he’s your boyfriend?” Aedion asked her, but his eyes were on Rowan.
Rowan’s voice was hard when he replied for her. “Yes.”
The room was silent until Manon started laughing. And then Yrene, Nehemia and Asterin. Borte and Nesryn cackled, and Lys and Elide shared a knowing smile. The men only grunted.
“Pay up, assholes.” Elide said.
“What?” Rowan and Aelin said in unison.
“Sophomore year of High School Elide said the two of you would end up together at some point. The tension would just build up to a point that the two of you would either cut all ties or would fuck.” Lorcan grunted, taking out his wallet. “The girls agreed with her. The men said you guys would simply start ignoring each other after college. We bet a hundred and fifty each. We would get the money and split so it’s equal to everyone in each team.”
Aelin’s jaw fell. Rowan sat up then, eyes narrowing. “You have a bet of six years on us?”
“Yes.” Elide replied, happily. “And although me and Ms. Galathynius over there will have a chat about your relationship later, I can’t say I’m sad about going home tonight a hundred and eighty seven bucks richer.”
“You have a bet of six years on whether or not we would bang?” Rowan repeated, dumbfounded.
“I thought we agreed to stop using the word bang.” Chaol said.
“Yeah, bro, it’s fuck.” Connall nodded solemnly as he handed his money to Asterin.
“And who says we only have one?” Manon chirped, counting the money Dorian had painfully given to her.
“I hate every single one of you.” Aelin grunted, resting against Rowan’s chest again. She could feel his body shaking with laughter and had to bite her own lip to fight a smile.
“You hate me? I’m a hundred and fifty poorer and my best friend is banging my cousin. This can’t get worse.”
“You’ll have to see them together every day now. And when Aelin spends the night on your apartment or Rowan isn’t home, you’ll know exactly what’s happening.” Fenrys said, his tone helpful.
Aedion merely groaned.
Aelin turned and gave Rowan a quick kiss, getting up to talk to the girls privately. Rowan gave her ass a playful slap, and she heard Aedion groan again. One look at Rowan and he was smiling like a fiend.
Oh he was going to have fun torturing Aedion.
Aelin spent the rest of the night apologizing for her silence and telling her friends what the last six months had been like. She had a feeling Rowan was doing the same with the guys, but probably with a lot less detail if Aedion hadn’t thrown up on the floor yet.
“You’ll have to make up for it.” Elide said, but she didn’t seem pissed. “We understand why you didn’t tell us, but it still hurts a bit.”
“True.” Lys said as the others nodded.
“I know and I’m so sorry. You guys have no idea how many times I wanted to talk to one of you about Rowan or about something I was insecure about, especially when I started falling for him.” The girls smiled softly at that, even Manon. “But it wasn’t my decision alone, and I couldn’t go up to Ro and say ‘hey, would you mind if I told the girls about us fucking because I think I’m falling hard for you and don’t really know how to proceed?’”
Nesryn snorted, and Yrene put an arm around Aelin. “So you really like him, huh.”
Aelin looked over to Rowan. He was smiling at something Fenrys had said and that had left Aedion scowling. “Yeah, I do.” She said softly.
“This is so strange.” Borte murmured to Asterin.
“So…” Nehemia started, and her tone made Aelin snap her eyes back to her friends.
They were all smiling in a scary way.
“Now that we’ve got the forgiveness part out of the way…” Elide continued.
Aelin’s brows furrowed in confusion.
“How’s the sex?” Lysandra finished and despite herself, Aelin felt her cheeks heating. All the girls laughed at that.
“Good.” She answered, then smiled. “Like really fucking amazing. Best lay of my life.”
“We agree with Fenrys and we do not want details but…” Manon said. “You can be more specific.”
All the women nodded eagerly and Aelin laughed.
She quickly looked at Rowan before telling her friends exactly how Rowan had discovered every bit of her body and soul in the last six months.
She told them of the fighting. The befriending. The falling.
She told them how she was still falling, head first into the L-word zone.
She told them how she couldn’t be happier she was falling.

more Linzumi content >:D
this time ft. the Firekids
btw: in this AU, Iroh is 37 and Ursa is 29yo, they have 8 years of difference
canon complaint
Izumi didn't had a real relationship with the father of the Firekids, they just were together because she had his son
but after Izumi gets pregnant with Ursa, he left, leaving her with a 8yo Iroh and a one month pregnancy
Lin and Izumi get together almost 2 years after that when Ursa is already 10 months and Iroh is 9yo
Lin doesn't want Iroh to feel displaced so every time she's with them, she takes care of Ursa and basically obliges Izumi to spend some time with him
some old politicans of the Fire Nation weren't that happy about Izumi and Lin being a couple and raising the kids together, so Izumi told them to fuck off
Lin always takes the metal cables with her in case she needs them, but she still a little scared of use them after what happened with her sister, so she never use the cables when she's with the kids
Iroh cried a lot the first time Lin came back to the fire nation after a couple of months, he thought she wasn't going to came back, like his father
Ursa and Iroh were the kind of kids who was always gross out when she saw their parents kissing (in this case, their moms)
Izumi always likes to point out how both of their kids adopted characteristics of Lin, like some her facial expressions and stuff like that (Ursa says Flameo the same way Lin does and Iroh grabs his hips)
as a kid, Ursa used to go in the mornings to her moms' bedroom, lay down between them and sleep with them for a while until one of they woke up and gave her breakfast
after book 3, Lin went to the Fire Nation and told the Firekids "what if i tell you you now have an aunt...and 5 cousins...?"
when Iroh is in the Fire Nation, he and Izumi will cook/bake something together, that's what they do
at some point, Ursa wants to go to live at RC, and even if Izumi wants to her kids to be independent, it is still hard for her to admit they're not kids anymore
Lin panicked at least 3 times after being in situations with the Firekids that were very similar to some she had with Toph, she was afraid of screw her kids up like Toph did with her. Izumi always helped her going through that
at the same time Izumi, after became the Fire Lord, she sometimes felt really overwhelmed having to govern her nation and taking care of her kids, that’s why everytime Lin was with them, she took care of the Firekids so Izumi could rest a little bit
Izumi is very strict but she has an eternal patience to their shenanigans while Lin tries to have a firm hand and to be tough but she absolutely melt for them and she can't say no to their puppy eyes (i stole this one and the next 3 ones from @dollvix )
Ursa calls Lin "mommy" just to annoy her
when there's people wooing her mom Ursa goes with her momma Linny and tells her to go mark territory (especially if Izumi is visibly uncomfortable) and the Fire Lord will complain about it? yes, but she low key likes it
Ursa does not like the Krew, Su's and Tenzin's kids (especially the first time), stays at Lin's side all day long and she's like "ok, so, i'm her daughter so clearly there's priority here"
sometimes, Iroh buys groceries for Lin and cooks for her, knowing that his mom is far away for caring about things like that when she's alone
Ursa is naturally curious and she’s really invested in history, so at some point in her life, she asked Lin to teach her things about her family and the culture of the Earth Kingdom (things that Lin learned from her grandparents because Toph didn’t cared about it)
Ursa has a Flying Boar tattoo in one wrist and the symbol of the Royal Family in the other one
the four of them have a dinner together once a month and it's beautiful
i’m not saying Lin and Izumi got multiple times in a “ask your mom” infinite loop, but they did
when the Firekids were little and momma Lin was in charge, there was no way they couldn’t have whatever they wanted (with limits of course)
in that same situation, at night, Lin laying in the bed reading with a 1yo Ursa sleeping with her head in her mom’s chest and a 9yo Iroh at their side grabbing Lin’s arm, i think there is no need to say that Izumi arrives and melts completely
Lin was there for both of the Firekids’ births and she stayed the night at the hospital laying down in the bed and cuddling with Izumi after Ursa’s birth, they were idiots in love but they weren’t together, that's also when they kiss for the first time (Lin had broke up with Tenzin by then)
this may be my favorite hc list by now
