Poor bub is having a rough day, but it's all so we can help fix him. 🙁💙 Luckily we got mostly good news from the vet:

- weight isn't bad, just a bit low

- almost definite parasites, contributing to not eating

- bloodwork looks good other than low calcium (see below)

- some calcium sand present in stomach, but NO impaction & hopefully will pass fine with good hydration

The main issue as expected, is moderate MBD. Low calcium on bloodwork, his bones are very faint on the x-ray, but outlines present, as are wrist bones. But he also has a fractured front right leg 😭😭, which we can't do much for except pain meds.

He got subq fluids with calcium, we got pain meds to give twice a day, and we have a special critical care blend to syringe him once a day. Once we start getting poop, we can do a fecal to see what parasites he's got & get meds to boot those out.

Thankful for good vets, and nice staff who had to stay late for us to finish up. 💜 And very grateful that it's honestly better than I expected - I was very scared that he might have an impaction requiring surgery. I'm not sure we could've managed that. I've already spent over $300 over the weekend, getting supplies, and the bill today was $621. 😬

I have been debating with myself for awhile now whether to keep a dragon I bought solely to breed for a scry project and have finally decided to keep the beautiful bastard, SportsDrink

I've been rewatching Merlin again, as one does, and can I say that THE GREAT DRAGON IS A CRYPTIC ASSHOLE. Like he never gives Merlin a single straightforward answer in the entire show! He's always, you have to kill this child because reasons, don't trust your friend that is suffering from repressed magic because reasons, don't save your mom because reasons, you have to do this because reasons. Like half the show and like 90% of the later seasons problems happen because the Great Dragon was a cryptic bitch for like no reason. If he either A, told Merlin a straight answer then he might've actually done the things the dragon was warning him about. Or B kept his mouth shut and then Merlin could've helped the situation better without doubting himself which normally ended in with his half baked attempt to follow the dragons orders going to shit. Like think about it, if Merlin had told Morgana about his magic and about her magic when he first found out then she might have became friends with him, learned to use her magic for good like he was, they wouldn't have gone to the druid camp which meant that Mordred wouldn't have a grudge against Arthur or Merlin for killing his friend and family, but probably would've helped them later on when he was older because they were the ones that saved him. Sure Morgana probably would have still hated Uther and what not, and the fights with Morgause would've happened, and Morgana would've had to make the choice between her sister and her friends but it would've been a harder choice.

Please someone give me one time that the dragon wasn't cryptic and it lead to something bad. Especially in the later episodes. The only time he wasn't cryptic was in meeting merlin for the first time and even then he left everything on a weird spot of 'this is your destiny bye'. Merlin became the last dragon lord and still the great dragon found away around it to be a cryptic mother fucker. The only time he actually gave a straightforward answer that actually helped was when Merlin promised to set him free, and when Uther was going to die by magic. Normaly he gave a beat aroudn the bush way to help and then flew off without answer any questions as to what was going on or why it had to be done that exact way.

I think I headcanon you as not much of a video game person?? this could just be a fact I've learned somehow and forgot but you also just have the vibes of someone who would rather get lost throwing pottery or something rather than playing a viddy game. I am not a huge video game person! this is mostly due to the guardrails of having only a laptop & lacking the fundamental skills for any kind of combat system (in art as in life, as the saying goes). as a kid I was not allowed video games w/the reasoning that they would hurt my grades. this seemed very unjust, even when I regularly went to friend's houses and played the sims for six hours straight

anyways then as an adult i did date a video game person. i saw them playing xcom 2 and said "what the fuck is that" and then i played a whole campaign start to finish on their computer in three days straight. this is also how i got into ck2 - (never played civ but you're spot on with the ant farm style / life and society simulators hahaha. does anyone remember spore??) - and i used to regularly play it in like. weeklong fevered bouts. anyways my mom was totally right but because of her stupid foresight i never got controller skills when my brain was young and plastic and now i'm permanently bad at mario kart. and fall into holes when i try to move the camera and walk at the same time when my roommate lets me take a turn at elden ring. i'm hopeless but it's wholesome fun for everyone

concert tickets for big music events went from costing 35-60 to 90-150+ in a decade (even worse in the US). knowing it's not even the artists that profit from it the most, it has become intolerable to the point of making the news everytime a big artist announce a tour. meanwhile, tiny venues struggle to make people come back to cheap/free shows because people only care about big, loud and shiny events. i know i'm repeating myself but please go see local/less known bands if you want things to go back to the way it was. ticketmaster's dynamic prices are not going to get better, even with artists trying their best to limit the damages caused by it (robert smith ily). basically, my point is : everybody has to make efforts because it's going to get worse and if we don't support the alternative, cheaper options, we're going to be left with nothing but an inaccessibility to art for poor people.
