Jason Todd Mama's Boy Appreciation and Headcanon.

I absolutely love when Jason is written as a total mama's boy for Batmom. Peak worldbuilding. Baby Jason spent weEKS trying to fix Bruce's watch because he knew it meant a lot to him? canonically worked hard on his homework for good grades? don't try telling me this boy wouldn't have been over the moon with a mother figure that loved to coddle him. He wouldn't care if someone called him a 'mama's boy', because he loves being one! he's happy! hugs batmom every morning before leaving for school.

When Jason comes back? he's much more closed off, he no longer wears his heart on his sleeve, he feels empty and broken and betrayed but in the end he goes home, because batmom gives the warmest hugs, and a kiss to his temple healed things he never thought would, and when he starts coming around for more than just lunch with mom and Alfred?

Jason is always the first to help if Batmom needs something off a higher shelf, brought down, if she's cooking he's already at her side to help, a little bit of the eager boy she remembers flickering in his eyes when they would bake together.

Bringing in shopping bags from the car? all your children are happy to help but Jason's beat them to it, it's turned into a competition (the most lighthearted one in years) but he still always wins.

There was a time, when you were awaiting the grocery bags your children were too stubborn to let you take, that you got to witness Jason carrying every bag in a damn death grip with Damian hanging off his arm still trying to pry a bag from his hand. There was shouting, and swearing, and death threats, but you could see how far they've come, and maybe cried a little laughing at the sight.

Everyone can tell his 'welcome home' hug lasts a little bit longer, that he hugs a little bit tighter, and is still proud and unbothered whenever anyone tries calling him a mama's boy.

You love all your children, and they all (even Damian), and even some of their friends, adore your affection, but Jason Todd has always been your sweet mama's boy.

The fact that Wu Ming is WYB’s first feature film as an actor with his name in top billing and he got nominated for a Golden Rooster Award. All of his fellow nominees in the Best Supporting Actor Category are veteran actors. Wu Ming has 8 nominations, sweeping the Major ones - Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actor & Best Supporting Actor. Remembering all the struggles this movie faced during it’s run. The malicious douban scoring, really bad screening times and blatant attacks on WYB —— so this is especially rewarding to witness. The triumph.

Also, did you see any idol / anyone remotely considered traffic star turned actor in this list? No. Just WYB. He really is different from the rest and has his own standards for himself. No matter the anti rhetoric that went on every time he has a movie out, the quality of the film he gives the audience, and most of all his acting — shines. ✨

No matter the outcome, he will always be a winner to me and everyone who loves & appreciates his works!

I can’t stop thinking about Vegeta throughout the end of DBZ. This proud warrior Prince, his people no longer exist, except for one absolute clown of a Saiyan raised on earth. The one man who saved him not once but twice. His original goal of immortality, a chance to have a level of control he hasn’t had under the thumb of Frieza and opportunity to liberate himself, the last legacy of his race and he gets his ass whooped.

Then he tries again and fails again (when he gives in to despair in the face of Frieza being so powerful, it hurts and Im so proud of him that we never see that again and I fully believe its due to Gokus influence). And then theres Goku again, Vegeta leaves his peoples and Vegetas own hopes and dreams to Goku. And Goku delivers. And then Vegeta has nothing, Frieza gone, his people gone, what can he even do? All he has left is his promise to beat Goku one day, (Vegeta hold so much weight in promises).

And then Goku dies and he’s just gone. Sure he comes back 7 years later, but in that time Vegeta’s entire reason for being was gone, sure he starts a family and one that he dearly loves. But the return of Goku ignites those lost feelings in him. Its that whole premise of growing up with expectations of what you were going to be and you wake up one day and realise you don’t recognise yourself, you aren’t who you were promised to be, aren’t who you were aiming for (this is why I just love Majin Vegeta so much). A promised Prince, with no people to rule, the one person that is the reason he is alive at all, that was his entire drive gone for what he would have thought to be forever, what could you even do, where could you even go? He had his one anchor of Bulma and then his children. But this wasn’t what he was supposed to be, he should have been a ruler, he should have been dead. And then his one true goal returns and he’s confronted with that and he falls.
