Abby Anderson with a short plus size fem s/o
+ some other random hcs of Abby (can or can't be related to being plus size, up to you)
Tumblr media
A/n: Please don't be mean in the comments, this is my first time posting my work again after what seemed like a year or more and English isn't my first language. Feel free to ask any requests, I hope this does well after the long time I haven't been writing. I was kicking my feet and giggling the whole time I was writing this, hope you enjoy :)
Maybe I'll add more to this in the future when I get more ideas but this is all I've got for now. This is also set in like an AU where the whole cordyceps infection/fungal outbreak never happened. So basically they are either in highschool or in college, up to you really.
Sorry if this is OOC, it's just that I don't know a lot about these characters. I only know of them based on the fanfics I read and TikTok really.
Disclaimers/Warnings: None, except maybe a bit OOC
If you wish to be tagged, please comment that you want to be or follow so that you'll be updated also: Rules for requests
If you don't want to send requests through Tumblr, my Instagram is always an option.

Abby would be a chubby chaser (this is my personal headcanon) for sure, she just loves the body type. To her, you're plush and cuddly.
Abby is utterly obsessed. The first time she saw you, she was infatuated by you. The stare she gives when she first sees you, honestly she's suprised that the whole school isn't all over you since you're so pretty and kind.
She thinks it's a perfect dynamic between the both of you. Since she's a bit tall and muscular, she thinks it balances her out to have a cute and an s/o that shorter and chubby.
It's like that thing where one is intimidating and they just have the one sunshine looking person around them. (bonus points if your aesthetic is more cutesy and feminine)
I definitely see her leaning towards more masc clothing. (I feel the same with Ellie)
She would be able to pick you up and she loves to do it, makes her feel so strong.
Abby is definitely touchy, she might not be all big on pda but guaranteed that she's the type to put her arm around your waist and pull you in closer.
Whenever you wear a short dress or anything that shows off your thighs really, Abby will be on the verge of drooling. She can't help herself staring at the way your thighs slightly bounce when you walk.
Speaking of thighs, Abby loves laying on your lap. She swears she can just fall asleep on them no matter what time of day it is and that says a lot since she has quite the sleeping schedule.
She conveniently has her hand on your thigh, mostly when you sit next to each other. (She thinks you don't notice the fact that her hand is slowly getting higher, or do you?)
Abby for sure is hesitant with letting people touch her hair but when it comes to you, you have a girlfriend pass. (She definitely wants you to braid it)
I feel like if you like to take care of Abby, she will most likely start calling you her adorable housewife as a tease. Can't help but think she would wrap her strong arms around you and give you a back hug because you're doing something. (I need more Abby x Housewife!reader please, to whoever made that hc, I absolutely love you)
If you have chubby cheeks, Abby would think it's absolutely adorable when you're chewing something (She often but never says it out loud, thinks that you remind her of like an adorable chipmunk stuffing it's face for the winter). I can't help but think she'll either gently pinch them or bite them every chance she gets.
Just her cupping your face any time she gets because she just loves your soft skin against her hands.
I swear, she would absolutely share her clothes with you. Seeing you in her clothes is an absolute turn on for her. (Bonus points if her shirt is long enough to look like a dress on you but short enough that it's almost skimpy to her)

Tag 7 People You'd Like to Know Better!
AH catching up on tag games :3 Thank you to @boethiahspillowbook for tagging me in this!! (Here's their answers!) I haven't done a non-writing one in some time now so I figured -- why not? Tagging: @paraparadigm, @changelingsandothernonsense, @thana-topsy, @thequeenofthewinter, @kookaburra1701, @gilgamish, and @archangelsunited and, even though it's more than 7 people, YOU. Yep, tag me back if you do this one. :>
I suppose the rules are just babble about the questions asked herein!
Last song: What the Water Gave Me - the demo version by Florence + The Machine
Florence + The Machine is my favorite band ever, ever. So lots of their music is on pretty much all of my playlists. I was listening to my favorites list while I was writing yesterday and that's the one that cropped up last.
Currently watching: TV? Shows? I don't know her. I actually don't make much time for tv at all. I will catch a couple shows a year but they have to be really compelling for me to want to spend the time on that.
Currently reading: OOh a good time to share a few of the open fanfics I'm in the middle of right now! First four tabs but I have something like 14 or 15 open right now I rotate through. Hollow Men by @thana-topsy Gathering Souls by @paraparadigm and @polypolymorph Serious Mistakes by @changelingsandothernonsense In The Midst of Winter by @thequeenofthewinter I am also still reading The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi by SA Chakraborty, which is admittedly fun and excellent, but I'm on a fanfic kick right now. My friends are fricken phenomenal authors, to be perfectly honest. And how often can you jump on discord and keyboard smash with your favorite authors about your favorite stories? This is why fandom can be so much fun when it's not being weird. :>
Current obsession: ...I'm a fanfic writer, what do you think my obsession is?
Okay, fine, TES is obvious. I can share a couple other things I suppose. :>
First is hand binding sketchbooks!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is an older one but still a fave because it turned out super pretty :D It's a watercolor sketchbook I made for my friend.
idk there's just something super relaxing about not having to think once the entire project is set up and it's down to sewing the signatures together. Huge fan of the zen of making these and even though I don't personally need more sketchbooks I will often just make one for the hell of it. I'm also learning how to do case binding but it's messier than this.
The other is fountain pens! I don't do layout posts anymore like I used to, but I can still share some of them -- I use the inks in artwork all the time and anything I write on paper is usually done in fountain pens. My favorite ones to use right now are TWSBI Ecos -- specifically a white and rose gold one :> My favorite ink is LAMY Dark Violet but it's discontinued...so I am sparing with that one lol
Here's some old aesthetic posts I used to do for fun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway yes. That's all I've got for now. This was funnnnn LOL so I mean, yeah feel free to tag yourself if I didn't tag you! I'd love to see everyone else's other hobbies.

back to school: supply shopping!
my senior year of high school starts in less than a month, so i did a ton of back to school shopping for new materials and supplies, and i'd like to tell you all what i've gotten for this year! some of the supplies are still in transit, so once it all arrives i'll do a tour with photos too~
♡ lovevook 17.6 inch backpack ♡
i had a wal-mart backpack for the past two years, and it's been ripping in multiple places, and just barely made it to the end of the school year last year. this new backpack has a lot of room for my personal computer and the one the school issues out, my oxford dictionary, and a ton more things. it also has a charging port on the side, so i can charge my phone with the battery pack inside of the bag! it's very aesthetic too :]
♡ expanding folders ♡
i have two sets of them, one is white filled with all the stuff from last year that i needed (many of my courses are two years), and one is pink and purple, which will be for non three-hole punched papers for this year!
♡ pens ♡
i have 12 frog pens, 24 multi-colored fine tipped pens, 10 black fine tipped pens, 5 white gel pens and 5 pastel pens.
♡ highlighters ♡
i got the really bright ones from target, and then have 5 ordered that match the pastel pens.
♡ sticky notes ♡
sticky notes are some of my favorite tools. i ordered black ones to use with the white gel pens to have notes that really stick out, as well as transparent ones that are used to mark up text without ruining the text underneath.
♡ planner + stickers ♡
i have never been one for writing in a planner, but i know that it will be beneficial to use it for college assignments, so i am training myself to use one this year. to do that, i bought the 'my queer year guided journal' by ash and chess (since they make my favorite tarot cards), which came with planner stickers. i also went out to an antique store that sold just about everything, and got some planner stickers for cheap!
♡ umbrella ♡
the place i live in has a lot of extreme weather, mostly being snowstorms. in the summer and the winter though, the rain/snow can get heavy, and the sun beats down during summer, so having an umbrella for both seasons is crucial. this one is a rain pro umbrella, which has a guard along the top part to prevent wind from blowing it upwards. i haven't had to use it yet, due to whenever it rains i'm at my house, but i've opened it, and it's massive compared to ones bought at stores like wal-mart or target.
♡ pencil case ♡
due to my love of pencils, pens and other stationary, i needed a better pencil pouch than the cheap plastic ones sold at most stores. i ordered a mesh one, and it has ten separate compartments. it unfolds from the zipper position and can sit open by itself too!
♡ fidgets ♡
it's pretty hard for me to focus on things without fidgeting at the same time. i got a bunch of spinner rings for that very reason, but i got a couple of tanglers and a rubix cube to keep in my backpack and my backpack only
♡ aromatherapy ♡
the dollar store near my house has little bottles of aromatherapy essential oils, mainly being lavender, tea tree oil and peppermint. they're great for very anxious moments, like before a show or pre-test.
and that's all for now! once more of my supplies arrive and i do my remaining last minute shopping, i'll share the rest!

i have no clue if you respond to these or even like getting them (I apologize I'm new to your Tumblr) but I really just wanted to say that I love your work on AO3. your work means more to me than I could ever fully articulate. I don't know why I became so attached to punch drunk but it is one of my favorite fics I've ever read and I love it a stupid amount. I just find your writing so stunning and really meaningful to me as a trans guy who doesn't get to experience that type of love often. there was this one night where I read punch drunk with my friend who I had a huge crush on and then later into the night we got drunk and they made out with me and gave me hickeys and told me they were trying to replicate how it was done in punch drunk? it was a wild night and one of my best days of the summer. and the partnership plan, roll for strength, the roof on a summer night, geography notes and doodles are all so wonderfully done. I reread the unmarked mixtape more than I'd like to admit and the art of living your (second) life is so fucking good (even in it's unfinished state) I think it altered my brain chemistry. you write these characters so well and the way you describe settings makes them stick in my head forever. (whenever Im in a bathroom in winter I think of punch drunk. I also associate that story with walls covered in fake wood paneling even though I don't think that setting ever shows up in the actual fic?) anyways, sorry if this is weird I just really love your work and your such a fantastic writer. your stories mean more to me than I'd like to admit and I just needed to scream into the void about it, so thank you :)
First of all, I adore getting these 🥺 I do respond (eventually), I just haven't been on Tumblr a whole lot lately and also I've been in a whirlwind of busy weeks and months. I'm sorry I haven't answered this (and a few other asks) promptly! It really really made my day when I got it and it means a lot to me to know that my writing has made a real impact on your life, that's honestly unbelievable and so cool. ✨💛✨
And it really hit me what you said about reading about stuff that queer people might not get to experience IRL - like relationships in high school. I'm a cis lesbian / cis queer woman so obviously my life experience isn't the same, but god I know the feeling of not having the life experiences with romance that cishet people take for granted so often.
Also the fact that Punch Drunk was the catalyst for an actual makeout session in real life?? I'm?? Like I'm truly honored, that's like the highest compliment ever 😂 💯💯💯 Amazing. Love.
And I'm touched that you like my older works too! I'm always surprised when people bring up works I did years ago because like... it was years ago. (God I feel old.)
I also have a soft spot for Second Life so 💙🧛🏠🌈
That's so cool to know about those associations! The funny thing is, I also associate a warmly lighted bathroom in a blue night with Punch Drunk. I don't know about the fake wood paneling? I don't remember if that was in there but I can absolutely see why that aesthetic fits that story.
I don't think it's weird at all, this was beyond lovely and amazing!! Thank you so much for saying something💛💛💛 Comments like this are so much of why I have motivation to write. Like, here are the reasons I write:
I love stories and I tend to write stories because I want to live them out and creating them in a solid way on the page is the best way I've found to solidify them out of my mind
I want to give people a genuine, emotional, psychological, even physiological experience. Not just an escape, but an experience. It's the only thing that we really take with us, imo. Your life experience is like. The only and the most important thing you have. And I want people to have the life experience of riding a dragon, crashing a spaceship, leading an army, taking bloody revenge, having a healthy relationship with a SO, fighting epic battles, taking back their power, etc. etc. And the better my writing is, the closer a reader's experience will be to a concrete experience. So I want to be the absolute best I can be.
So in short, thank you so much, I really really appreciate every word of this. I hope you have motivation to do all your to-do list, that you have inspiration for your projects, that you have an unexpected windfall and that your mental health is smooth sailing this week.

Grandpuff or crankybugs.
Oooh, what an interesting pair you've come up with (are these both favorites of yours?)
I guess I'll dive into the first one. I was tempted to go for "Crankybugs" (I'll always think of it as one word now, that's really cute) just to get a chance to dissect Season 5... which I think is currently way overrated.
But "Crankybugs" is in the top tier of S5—not too much to criticize without sounding nitpicky—if we can get over the head-scratchiness of Thomas being in it at all, it's a decent story. And the aesthetics of the stormy night harbor are very striking!
So let's all re-watch "Granpuff."
Tumblr media
"One winter's night, when the cold wind blew, the engines found it hard to sleep."
I used to hate this framing device... but I'm starting to soften up.
For one thing, I saw how well it succeeded in its job of "bring the Thomas kids into the new set/characters" by watching it work its magic on one of my own kids. Walked away from Granpuff et. al. again and again, but also kept giving this a chance because Thomas. Eventually, it worked. Now she's a huge fan of all the narrow-gauge stories... but I don't think she would have gotten into them without the Thomas angle.
So, I'm biased. However, it is also cosy to see the standard-gauge gang tucked away in the sheds and deciding to have story night—I like that. The dialogue is all solid, too (the only clunker is James's "but please remind us of the story so far," which doesn't sound like him, but that's also next episode, so I won't take off points for this one). And I'm really getting into Thomas the Elder Statesengine. Do I think the big engines would take his moralizing seriously? No. Do I think they might listen to a good yarn? Yes. Do I think Thoms might actually have a few of them under his boiler bands? Yes.
'Course, there are a few things here that still grate. The "storm" itself is not filmed especially well—it all looks/sounds like a retread of the storm in "Henry's Forest." Also, while I don't mind this story by itself, that's because I can imagine Thomas telling it before Duke was found. Not after—by that point I imagine on Sodor it's big enough news that they would have all heard? (I like to imagine Thomas telling this all to post-1970 newbies, actually.) And then when subsequent episodes get into all that "Duke was the hero of all the engines" stuff? Yeah, Duke waves his cane and bitches at Gordon, James, and Henry every time they stop at Crovan's Gate and so all the rest think he's funny... maybe.
However. Again, I have some complaints about Season 4, but if you're asking me to talk about just this episode by, itself? It's all pretty fair, really. I can sit back and enjoy.
Which is good for me, because now we proceed to...
"Once upon a time, there were three little engines who lived in their own little shed on their own little railway."
(sidenote—more about RWS than TVS, but—for those who haven't realized yet, this is the line with which Duke the Lost Engine begins and it's a callback to the first line of the series: "Once upon a time there was a little engine called Edward." and it makes me pretty emotional from the creative PoV, because back in Three Railway Engines Awdry had originally wanted to make his stories take place over two railways and also have it be much darker than it wound up—his publishers told him to tie it all together and quite rightly, he barely had one setting, and didn't yet have the skill nor even the legwork to manage two—and now look! look how far he's come! in this book, he ties together four railways, eighty years of fictional world-building, and indeed leaves a naughty engine punished forever, but he has the chops to do all of this and so much more now, gah i'm such a sucker for people's creative development and Awdry came so far here, i have no choice but to love it!)
Starting here, and lasting through the entire flashback, the cinematography is flawless. The sets, the narration, the pacing, the edits made to the RWS text, the aesthetic, every single shot.
Just.
alafsdivicjakafkd;l sadfk;lasdfk; asd;kfl
FLAWLESS.
This is the best 3 and a half minutes in the series.
(Even the night-time Rusty scene, which is at a similar high level of cinematic perfection, clocks in at less than 2 minutes. The original "Flying Kipper" scene is also in this tier, but, again, it did not last nearly so long. 'Course, this is just splitting hairs—all of these sequences are Allcroft-Mitton triumphs. But there's something uniquely compelling about this three and a half minutes of storytelling in "Granpuff." You just get completely swept away by it...)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If there's any complaint to be made about "the flashback," it's that afterwards the old standard-gauge boys and set look downright stupid, in contrast.
A pretty good problem to have, all in all. But damn I do kinda hate when we cut back to Tidmouth sheds. Well, except for one classic bit...
"That's... not a happy ending!"
"Ah, it will be," murmured Thomas, utterly indifferent to his earlier promise. OMG Thomas you had one job. "But that will have to wait until next time..."
Tumblr media
IN WHICH WE ARE PERCY AND PERCY IS WE
Anyway, I am so freakin delighted by how this episode ends on the "unhappy" note. This is what I'm always saying! Don't rush your story! Give your audience time to sit with it! Break it up! Don't be afraid to occasionally end on these downer notes—it makes the happy endings all the happier!
This episode is a be-a-u-ti-ful example of how to do it. <3
Six out of six tenders, even if I don't agree with the "framing device" strategy for S4 this opener is still a masterpiece
