What kind of tablet and app do you use or recommend for digital art?
personally i use Procreate on an ipad, like the vanilla bitch i am! it Is a good program, but i've previously used & been happy with Medibang, i've heard good things about Krita and Clip Studio.
as for tablets, i started out with a Huion pen tablet! that one worked pretty damn well once i got used to watching a screen instead of my hand as i drew! it's a pretty decent brand, but there are tons of others that are Not Half Bad too
but really, you can make anything work! there are a lot of different options out there - a good way to find Your Best Fit is looking up programs/tablets, reading reviews, comparing and contrasting to see what appeals to You!

Irondad fic ideas #93
Peter gets kidnapped. Tony is chained up nearby.
The kidnappers do their usual speech, tell Peter if he acts up they'll hurt Tony. Peter acquiesces to torture, takes on beatings, witnesses Tony getting beat to within an inch of his life just because Peter talked back, etc. It goes on that way for a while.
Then, one day an alarm sounds. The kidnappers, who had been about to torture Peter in front of Tony, with Tony struggling against the chains and Peter unwilling to let him take his place... suddenly this alarm sounds and the kidnappers stop. They toss Peter back into the cell, unchain Tony, and rush away. Peter is too injured to get up, even though he's crying and calling out for them to bring Tony back.
Then, Iron Man bursts into the room.
It turns out, Peter was the only one kidnapped. They'd set it up so one of the kidnappers was using face altering tech to torture Peter psychologically and also to keep him compliant. Peter has spent all this time sacrificing himself, agonizing over the man's pain, in terror over his wounds, enduring torment so he wouldn't have to, for one of the men who kidnapped him in the first place.
Bonus:
Peter now has SEVERE separation anxiety, PTSD night terrors about Tony being injured in ways he has personally witnessed in real life.
Meanwhile, Tony gets to unlock fun new levels of guilt. Blaming himself not just for taking so long to find Peter but for being the reason Peter is so hurt (physically and mentally). Tony finds he has zero (0) problem with Peter staying close by.
Eventually they have to talk it out. Peter tells Tony he can't feel guilty that Peter loves him, that they're family. Yes, the kidnappers exploited that, but Peter's glad Tony didn't actually have to go through all those things.
Tony says he wishes he was there, so Peter wouldn't have had to go through it alone.
Peter: I wasn't alone. I had you. Even when it's just someone pretending to be you, that's what you mean to me. Protection and hope. A reason not to give up.

The last actual drawing the gang of the year: Winx season 2 electric bogaloo.
We've got five enchantix and one dark onyrix. I suffered a LOT for the details on the onyrix one with all the small beading and the little flowers and stuff but it really paid off a lot.
I think I could have done better with the wings on some of them? The green enchantix one was designes by the person on the pic herself and I think she did an amazing job. The wings of the red fairy also look really nice and I think, out of the ones I made, probably looks the most enchantix-y.
I think I also nailed the wings of the onyrix one, I was given the wings of a nightjar bird for reference and black/purple/silver as a colourscheme and over all I'm suuuper happy with how they look.
The pink/cherry blossom themed fairy I think turned out pretty well too but I feel like I made the wings too believix-y, like they are too wide and big and not butterfly enough to fit the enchantix vibe.
The purple and blue fairy have the same issue but instead of believix I feel like I made it more bloomix? but over all I like them a lot with all the little details.
This project took me very very long bc I started working fulltime and now only have time/energy on the weekends to draw so this will be my last drawing project for now until I get setteled into work properly and got out of the initial mega-exhaustion phase that is to be expected when you go from doing basicly nothing to doing a full time job of physical labour and being on your feet for 9hours a day (but i get to smell and eat bread and pastries so it's fine uwu)
I thank all my homies over on discord who participated in all my projects thus far for all the cool and creative ideas they let me draw and also for putting up with me sobbing when I draw on the wrong layer for 2 hours again without noticing.

Hello! I apologize if this is a nosy question, but what is the silly feelings wheel app you were talking about in a previous post? My therapist and I have been working on identifying feelings but I still very much rely on a list of feeling words to have any idea what I’m feeling, so it could be a helpful resource. No worries if you don’t want to share, just thought I would ask :)
It's called How We Feel! I'm not sure if it's available on all devices yet, but it's on ios and the google play store for sure.
I've been using it for about a year. It's more of a chart than a wheel but people usually recognize the wheel better so that's what I call it. When you first start it has a 10-part tutorial about emotional acceptance and regulation, then it has suggestions for each category of emotion. You can access both at any time tho after those first 10 days.
It has a share option so you can have friends, which has been great for me cause it prompts me to check on friends and them to do the same for me. It allows you to just respond with a little emoji in like a "I'm here for you" little notification to your friend, or you can reach out to your friend on your own. Its really helped me cause I'm bad at reaching out when I need support so to me and I'm bad about taking on other's problems even when I can't handle it so being able to send a little emoji instead to make sure my friends know I'm there if they need me and them doing the same has been great

I think I mentioned that I was looking into getting a better sewing machine? well, it arrived today 🙈 that happened much faster than planned. I found the model I was looking at at a (relatively) local sewing machine store, for 30% off because it had been in the shop window, so the plastic has yellowed.
I wasn't sure how I felt about that (the website only said it was a floor model or something similar, then someone from the store called and told me the specifics and asked if that was still okay), but honestly? I never ever would have paid the full price, it was just too much, I couldn't justify that. but this reduced price was only a little more than the ones I had been looking at before (that were not great quality and probably wouldn't last very long).
I am very particular about things like this but I'm trying to make myself accept that it really is not that bad. it actually looks kinda cool. I just have to get my brain to accept that it's not a flaw, it's just a completely superficial and insignificant thing that doesn't affect its function at all. it's good that this machine that works perfectly won't end up in a landfill just because it doesn't look brand new.
I only got to try it a little bit today because I wasn't feeling well but damn, the difference to my old machine is huge!! it's so much more fun and easy to use - I love having the needle threader and that it can automatically cut the yarn when you're done. and with the start/stop button it's actually really fun to wind bobbins!! I always hated that on my old machine.
I skimmed through the manual earlier (and put page markers in it so that I can easily find anything later) - it did seem somewhat overwhelming at first. I've never used or even seen (irl) a computerised sewing machine, so of course it did! but it already felt much more familiar after just using it a little bit today. I love it 🥰
(also, I think the fact that it doesn't look perfect and brand new actually helps - I'm not afraid to use it in case I 'ruin' it!)
