sorry i’m on a roll tonight but everyone always talks abt jason’s scars but like. everyone in the batfam must have them, i mean they fight criminals who have knives and guns and brass knuckles there’s no way they’ve never gotten hit,,, so being dick’s lover and him being used to being sultry and stuff but one day when he comes out of the shower you pull him to the bed and he’s like “eheh you couldn’t wait to have me?” but his words die in his throat when you gently lay him down and start kissing every little scar on his body, and he gets really whiny and surprisingly subby when you start kissing an old stab wound on his inner thigh *insert elmo fire gif here*
oh oh i’m soft. i’m crying just a little. my baby boy 🥺🥺
**
You still manage to surprise him.
He thinks it should be statistically impossible, thinks that you shouldn’t be able to sneak up on him the way that you do. The quiet, emotional way you do when you see something that makes your heart ache just a little.
He’s trained since he was a child to prevent things like this, he knows body language, he knows speech patterns, he knows how to disarm someone in three seconds flat.
He knows you.
He also knows what it’s like to be wounded. To be bleeding out and hurting and utterly alone. He’s painfully aware that a serrated blade will tear and shred his skin and leave a horrible, jagged scar. He knows exit wounds are messier than entry wounds and that being shot burns. He knows that his body is a patchwork quilt of freshly healed skin and old, aching wounds.
He knows that you love him.
But of all the things he knows, all the things he expects. He not once considers the possibility of an ambush. Especially from you.
**
“Cmere.” You beckon when he comes out of the bathroom, towel wrapped low on his hips. His first thought is lustful, scandalous. You want him. You always want him. He’s more than happy to indulge you. But the set of your mouth is off, you’re looking at him like you see him. All of him. “Dick, c’mere. Let me love on you.”
He trips forwards, just slightly touching up against uncoordinated. The smile on your face is soft, patient, wonderful. He feels his heart stutter for just a moment, a brief skip. On patrol the skip of his heart usually means ‘oh shit i’m about to die’. But with you it’s different, with you it’s ‘you make me clumsy, you make me vulnerable’.
You guide him backwards, push him down onto the bed. There’s a thousand different thoughts tangled in a knot and he’s half stuck between excitement and apprehension. You’ve shoved him onto the bed before, usually before you sink your soft, wet cunt around his cock. But you don’t have that look on your face this time.
So the apprehension sweeps in.
His brain does it on autopilot–comes up with contingencies. He’s got every single weakness of yours catalogued. He knows exactly where to put pressure to get you to give. He knows that your left arm is weaker than your right. He knows he could open his mouth right now and say something that would have you in tears.
Part of him hates himself for it.
But it’s kept him alive.
Your mouth presses against his shoulder, just below his collarbone. There’s a mess of scar tissue under your lips. It’s a messy circle. A gunshot wound. 9mm. There’s no exit wound and he remembers digging into the open wound looking for the bullet. He remembers the blinding pain and laughing hysterically at the fact he could hardly hold the tweezers with the amount of blood coating his hand. But you lick over the sensitive skin and Dick shudders, the memory fracturing apart.
“What are you doing?” He finally asks, voice thicker than he wants it to be.
Your attention flickers to him for just a moment, “My pretty boy. Jus’ want to show you how much I love you. How much I love all of you.”
There’s a lump in his throat and he can’t swallow it back.
You shuffle down his body. Lick over the long, thin line of scar tissue over his ribs. Pocket knife. He was still Robin when he got that one. He recalls the flash of pain as it sliced him open. The adrenaline hid it well amongst the fight but when it was over it stung, nerves flaring awake. Seven stitches in total. A neat little row.
Nimble fingers tug at the towel around his waist and Dick feels his breath hitch. You pull it open and suck a mark into his hip. The dark blemish settles besides a smattering of bruises from his most recent patrol and he doesn’t expect to feel overwhelming relief at the feel of your mouth on his skin.
But he does.
You tap at his thigh, gesture for him to settle back and hook it open so you can kiss at the thick, jagged scar running across his inner thigh. The skin is raised and pink. Still new. Still healing. The edges are surrounded by tiny needle marks. Stitches.
His entire body flinches and he finds himself almost trying to run from the feel of your lips on that horribly sensitive patch of skin. Serrated blade. Agonising pain. He remembers the rip and pull of his flesh as the knife went in. Remembers almost screaming from the pain of it.
Your hot, wet tongue drags along the length of the scar and Dick feels tears prick at the corners of his eyes.
“Are you okay, baby?” You ask between gentle kisses, lavishing affection on something that was once so painful. It still hurts sometimes. Especially on cold nights. Even more when he does certain manoeuvres in training, in combat. “Tell me to stop and I will.”
Your thumb smooths along the scar and then your mouth chases it.
“Don’t stop.” He gasps. “Please don’t stop.”
He feels you kiss the inside of his thigh so softly, so gently and he’s knocked completely off kilter by how much he likes having you dote on him the way you are. You kiss his damaged skin like you’re trying to remove the pain and Dick wants to cry, wants to hide himself inside you because if anyone in this world would keep him safe, he'd trust it to be you.
“You’re so beautiful.” You whisper, and glance up to catch his watery gaze. “It’s okay. I’ve got you. My brave boy.”

How would yanderes Batboys (Romantic and separate) react to someone kissing reader's hand? I'd love to see this go down
I think ya'll really like the batfam stuff I write lol. anyways, here it is!
warnings: possesiveness, lmk if I missed any!
~~~
Dick Grayson/Nightwing
Tumblr media
It happened at a gala. He had brought you with him because he liked having you around, especially to show off to others. But what he wasn't expecting was someone to actually kiss your hand.
His mind goes blank for a moment, but his anger returns once he's out of his trance. He doesn't do much, just walks up to you and drags you away, briefly giving the guy the best death glare he can muster. Afterward, he sits at the table and waits for the guy to leave before he gets back up again.
He's pretty pissed. He stays by you for the rest of the gala, and it doesn't leave his mind for a few days, but after a while he semi forgets about it. However, any time you both go to a gala or something similar, he is very protective and hovers close by, glued to your side.
Jason Todd/Red Hood
Tumblr media
This was his first gala after he came back to the family. He was originally not going to go, but Bruce somehow convinced you to go, and you were too adorable eto say no to, which is how he ended up here, watching as some asshat try to woo you over.
He doesn't get too physical, but he does step in between you and the guy, asking him if he needed somehting. The man backs off because Jason is 6' and huge in comparison, and he really doesn't want to start a fight with a man who could sock him within 2 seconds.
Jason just becomes very grumpy after this. His mood, night and time at the gala is ruined, and no matter what you do, he won't stop mumbling. However, after the gala, he does become more happy, and by the end of the night, after trying to cheer him up, he eventually stops and tries to become more happier. He is glad, though, that he doesn't see the little shrimp anymore.
Tim Drake/Red Robin
Tumblr media
Again, also probably happened at a gala. If not, I would guess a party at the Wayne Manor. He jus tbrings oyu around because he worries about what you'll do when your alone, but seeing someone kiss your hand makes him regret even bringing you.
He doesn't have any shock time, he just walks up, takes your hand, and walks away. He won't let you say any bye's either, he's gonna walk out and go home with you. Ends up with you two cuddling in his fancy apartment.
Afterward, he wouldn't even bring you to anymore galas. Partys, yeah he probably still would just because it's his home, he knows what's going down, and he almost always knows where you are at all times. But galas? He won't even think about it, he might even make you sick or try to convince your mind otherwise so he won't have to bring you. Of course, if it does come to that he'll stay right by your side.
Damian Wayne/Robin (aged up obvi)
Tumblr media
It was his 21st birthday. Bruce had hosted a party at the Manor ("Damian, please." "Fine."), and had invited most of their super friends, however, he had also invited some different important people from his buisness. Unfortunatly, one of those people was more old fashioned than the rest, and had kissed your hand as a sign of respect.
Damian did not like that. He did not like that all. None of them caused much of a commontion about it, but for Damian, he had the guest be kicked out. Unpromptly. When someone asked him about it, he said he had made lewd remarks and gesteres towards different people, which later on, ruined the mans reputation.
Damian does not play with people who touch you. Even if its just platonically, or respectfully. He starts asking you to be more firm with your boundries, and while you take it in a "aw, my boyfriend is so caring", he's in the mindset of "if anyone touches them again, I have to kill them".
FOLKLORE ; SEVEN
JASON TODD X READER
Stealing the tires of Batman’s car was possibly the best thing that could’ve ever happened to Jason Todd. He expected to be arrested, but instead he was welcomed with a nice home and hot food. Where he lived, hot food was a rarity but now at the Wayne Manor, he could eat as much food as he wanted.
That made up for having to fight most nights, as Batman’s second Robin. He didn’t even care about the bruises on his faces, because at least he could come back to a warm bath (he was surprised at the hot water running through the pipes) and a large plate of food Alfred would cook for him.
The only downside of moving away from his poverty, and crime ridden neighbourhood was leaving his best friend behind. You had helped him out, in more ways than he could even imagine and he had just left you to fend for yourself. Jason felt guilty, and that was one of the main reasons why he chose to visit you every weekend.
Right now, he was pacing up and down your bedroom and trying his best to hide the bruises that littered his face. He turned to face you, and smiled softly. “I’ve missed you.”
He didn’t know how else to word it, so he decided to tell you exactly how he thought it. You noticed the bruises across his face, under his eye and on his cheek. “Jay, how did you get those bruises?”
He winced at your question, turning away from you and staring out the window. Your bedroom gave a direct view of the abandoned, half destroyed warehouse on the opposite side of the street and he sighed. “These bruises are nothing.”
You always knew when he was lying, and he knew that. He shrugged, the twelve year old turning to face you now. “I promise, it was just a little fight.” It wasn’t just a little fight but how else was he supposed to admit that he was the crime fighting vigilante Robin?
At first, when Bruce had told him of the opportunity to become Robin, his thought had been to tell you. He knew you’d be thrilled by it, as he’d listened to your many excited rants on how Batman and Robin were amazing. How they fought to help the defenceless people of Gotham. However Bruce had made him promise he wouldn’t tell anyone, and that included you so he kept his mouth shut. He wanted, and needed, Bruce to trust him.
“I’m alright.” he mumbled, before lifting his head with a smile. “You should come visit the Manor sometime.” He hoped that your answer would be yes, and he could convince Bruce to adopt you too. He hated knowing that everyday could be your last, and he might not be able to protect you.
You frowned as you looked at the bruises on his face again. “It doesn’t look like a little fight.” you muttered to yourself, but then shook your head. If he wanted to talk about it, he would. You didn’t want to push him into talking, out of fear that he might shut you out.
“How is it at the Wayne Manor?” your eyes lit up, grinning slightly.“Is Bruce how I thought he’d be?” You hoped for Jason’s sake, that Bruce is as caring and loving as you thought he’d be.
“Way nicer than you thought.” Jason confirmed with a small nod. “Really, he’s a great guy, it’s pretty great living with him.” He could sense your worry, so he pulled out a small bracelet from his pocket. Bruce gave it to him as a welcome gift, but he decided you needed it more. “I have something for you. It’s for you.”
You looked down at the bracelet, and he reached for your hand. His touch was rather gentle, and he slid the bracelet onto your wrist. It didn’t fit perfectly, there was still a bit of a gap between your wrist and the bracelet but Jason thought it suited you.
Jason loved the smile that appeared on your face, as you stared down at the bracelet. He hadn’t seen you smile like that in a long time and for the first time, he felt as though he was actually doing some good in Gotham.
“It’s nice to see you smile again.” he admitted with a soft smile.
You nodded again, running your hand along the bracelet. It must’ve cost a lot of money, but Jason seemed happy enough to just hand it over to you. “It’s nice that you’re happy with Bruce.” your tone was genuine, but your smile fell slightly. “You’re lucky to get out of this area.” you gestured to the window, referring to the crime run area he had managed to leave.
“I know, it’s just I-“ he frowned, unsure how to phrase his next words. Jason knew better than to lie to you, he always had. “I wish you could have come with me.” He finally admitted.
You sighed, that’s what you wished too but the decision was up to Bruce Wayne. “Me too.” you spoke after a short moment, and then stared over at Jason. “It’s up to Bruce, and what he says.”
“I talked to Bruce, he said no.” He admitted. It was one of the most difficult things he had ever done, approaching Bruce after a night as Robin and asking about his best friend. Asking if you could come live with him.
Bruce had been polite and understanding, he had let Jason explain the situation. He had listened calmly, but made it clear that his answer was no. Jason didn’t blame him, but he was slightly disappointed and annoyed by the answer. “He said he can only manage one child at a time.”
You nodded, a sad smile on your face. “It’s okay.” you rubbed the bracelet again, as though it would give you luck. “I’m just glad one of us is out of this neighbourhood.”
Jason hated the idea of you being sad, and he reached for your hands again. “Maybe you can still visit.” he nodded, sure that Bruce would at least agree to that. “Alfred is so nice, he loves classic literature as much as we do.”
You hesitated to answer, and he frowned at your silence. He rubbed circles along your palm with his hand, and he stared at the bracelet. He wanted you to be happy, and he didn’t know what else to say. “Bruce will be fine with it.” Jason assured you.
“Then I’d love to come.” you nodded, smiling at Jason’s actions. Maybe seeing the Manor would remind you how life could turn out for you in the future. A reminder that you weren’t stuck in Gotham for the rest of your life.
Jason smiled again, still circling your palm with his thumb. “I promise you one thing,” he muttered softly, his head tilting as he looked at you. “When we’re old enough, we will leave Gotham.”
He didn’t know where you two would go, but all he knew is that it would be far away from Gotham. Maybe a nice countryside home, or a safer city. “Anywhere, just away from here.” he promised again, hoping that he could at least keep this promise to you.
“Anywhere.” you repeated his words softly, smiling again at him. He nodded quickly, and waited for you to say something else, to suggest somewhere they would escape to. “We can move to India.”
He nodded again, holding out his pinky finger almost as if to swear it. “We can move to India, if that’s what you want.” he tucked his finger against yours, and smiled.
“India seems like a lovely place.”
for the ask game - JayTim obviously!! or, if that's been asked already, maybe JayRoy?
YESSSSSSSS okay I'm gonna do both ships, because neither has been asked yet!
We're going to start with Jaytim though, because obviously I ship it 😂
What made you ship it?
There was a fic by Timmyjaybird that I read that had unrequited Jaytim (different main pairing with Tim), and their dynamic piqued my interest. I decided to click into the ship page, read strange fear I ain't felt for years by sister, and then it was over for me. If you know me, you'll know I always say that all it takes is reading one good fic for a ship and I'll start shipping it. Plus I'm a Tim kinnie and Jason is so so hot, so theres definitely a projection character/attraction character thing going on
What are your favorite things about the ship?
All the ways I can play with them. They can be fucked up, unstable, unwell, obsessive (on both sides). They can be bitter and angry and fall into each other (which I tend to favor in longer works). They can be soft and sweet and gentle and forgiving. They can be blushing and nervous and uncertain. They can be petty and annoyed and really into riling each other up. It ALWAYS works. And also, there's something I find so fascinating about the way they accidentally helped create each other. Tim as Robin happened mostly because of Jason, and Jason becoming Red Hood and going after Bruce gets set into motion because he finds out about Tim. They're a feedback loop and neither of them is happy with the results. Okay, I have to stop here before this turns into a dissertation. Or before I spoil a future fic which I already had to erase a spoiler for so next question
Is there an unpopular opinion you have about the ship?
A little bit? I think my only opinion that some people disagree with (but isn't necessarily unpopular) is that I don't like the whole Pit Madness thing. When Jason came back he had a fucked up plan, and he wasn't entirely in his right mind, but he justified it. He was doing the wrong thing for the right reasons when it came to Tim (being mad at Bruce because he's going to get Tim killed and then he almost kills Tim to prove the point). It's something I explore in my fics at almost every opportunity, because I think it's too easy to let Jason off the hook by blaming it on the pit. It also frustrates me because it doesn't really matter whether or not he meant to hurt Tim, because he did. And I like watching him take responsibility for the knowledge that he wanted to hurt Tim, and being forced to confront the realization that his logic at the time involved a lot of mental gymnastics, and grapple with the idea that it might not be a thing he can fix and that even if it is, Tim probably shouldn't forgive him, and definitely shouldn't get involved with him. Okay, halfway through writing this I realized that I definitely have an unpopular opinion about them, but I'm not erasing all that, so you get both. I hate the nickname babybird. I know. I know! I hear you all disagreeing with me. I see you all throwing tomatoes at me. I just don't like it! I don't think it's cute. I like little red or little bird much better, personally.
Okay I'm also gonna do JayRoy but this is getting long, so I'm gonna put the rest under the cut.
JayRoy: I ship it!!!
What made you ship it?
I think one of my friends told me they knew it was a ship and they thought it was cute sometimes and I checked it out? I've actually been reading Jayroy since before I read Jaytim. And as previously stated, all it takes is one good fic.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
Honestly I just love their relationship so much. Roy is one of the few people Jason ever really allows to get close to him after becoming Red Hood (if we're ignoring the whole being brought back into the batfamily thing which I have a Lot of Opinions about, but that's a story for another time, anyone reading this can feel free to send me an ask if you want the rant), and I really just love the way they understand each other and are there for each other. I also love that they're assholes to each other. Roy is so irritating and Jason should hate it but he can't and he doesn't because Roy is too endearing and genuine. It's sweet. It's the angry one and the sunshine one.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have about the ship?
I guess? I think they work better as friends who also sleep together. Like, I don't necessarily think they should date. I think that if they ever ended up in a long-term relationship, it would be because Jason realizes he hasn't slept with anyone else in years and they've been partners for even longer than that. But when it comes to things that healthy relationships should have, I don't really see them having it. It's not healthy to start dating someone because you realize you already are after not talking about it for years. I think too much of the responsibility and emotional labor would fall on Roy, and I think he deserves better.
okay, if you're still reading at this point then thank you for reading!!! and thanks for the ask!! I had so much fun answering this 💚💚💚
Indecent Proposal (An academic rivals to lovers fanfic) - Tim Drake x Latina!Fem!Reader.
Sinopsis: Being a scholarship student at Gotham's most expensive school is not easy, especially when your academic rival, your nemesis, who coincidentally is the owner's son, decides to make you a rather usual proposition.
Tropes: Academic rivals-to-lovers, contract/bet, he loved her all this time, everyone else sees it except them, opposites attract, etc.
A/N: Is it just me or you guys also think that the baftamily has some weird abilities? Like, I can picture it very clearly in my mind: Tim is the master of voice imitation, no one can imitate Gordon or Bruce, or even Alfred, better than him (and he sometimes does it to make Damian laugh when the poor baby has to be stitched); Jason is abnormaly good at the kitchen (no wonder why he is the only one allowed in the Manor's kitchen, it also comes in handy at family hollidays); Dick can unwrapp sweets inside his mouth (It doesn't seemed very useful to him until he had his first kiss, obviously), etc. For those of you that want to read some chapters ahead, feel free to acess my AO3 account here.
Happy New Year's Eve, guys :)
Warnings: Non graphic oral sex (M receiving), sexting, etc.
Wordcount: 2222.
Chapter twelve
Chapter Thirteen: Batman is on the phone
It was a slow week. You decided not to think about Red Robin anymore. He was probably hurt and you couldn’t expect him to act like nothing happened. Yesterday, a package arrived at your house. A bouquet of purple delphiniums and a box with a red silk ribbon, and a note. You quickly hid the note and got inside with the package. Your mother was in the kitchen and saw you when you got inside with the flowers in hand.
— Hm… it seems like someone has an admirer — She said, leaning against the counter with a smile — What's his name, honey?
— I wish I knew — You said — No card.
— I don’t remember the last time your father bought me flowers. Enjoy this one, my love — She said and your father, who was sitting at the sofá watching football, lifted his head and looked at her — Yeah, I’m talking about you, Y/F/N. What are you gonna do about it?
He got up and got the car keys.
— Get you some damn flowers — He said, offended, as he put on his shoes.
— Remember, I like…
— Roses — He said, reaching the door — I’ve been married to you for 26 years, woman. I know you better than your parents at this point.
You laughed as you got upstairs.
When you got upstairs, you read Tim’s note.
“Purple delphiniums mean i’m thinking about you. Not that it is some kind of surprise. I’m always thinking about you. - Yours”
You kept the note in the middle of your book and took the Red Carnations off the vase, putting the delphiniums in their place. And the ribbon… you were using the ribbon he sent you. And, God, his glare was fixed on your back and it was so satisfactory that you couldn’t keep the smile off your face.
Unfortunately, history class was absolutely tedious today. Maybe it was the effect of the rainy atmosphere of the gothinamite Autumn, or because you've studied today's topic a million times already, but you were utterly bored. You only wished you were an applied student like Aly when it came to history.
Your boredom did not last long, though. Your phone vibrated under your skirt - you've always kept it there, in case of an emergency. And also, this is Gotham. If you were to be robbed, you would like at least to keep your phone so you could call an uber home.
You lifted the hem of your skirt discreetly so you could see the notification bar, and smiled as you realised who was texting you. Him.
Very carefully to not attract any undesired attention, you turned your head in his direction and saw him smiling at you. Damn.
You unlocked your phone and read the message.
Playboy: I see you got my present
Playboy: You look great in my colours, by the way
You: the package arrived yesterday. Thanks for the flowers, also. My mother is becoming a fan of yours.
You: your colours? I didn't realise you owned the colour red
Playboy: it's just my favourite colour... it suits you
You: I am gorgeous, tim. every colour suits me
Playboy: i can't say i disagree
Playboy: Also, I pla to make your mother love me. Just to let you know.
Playboy: So you hide your phone under your skirt... damn, i wish i was this phone so i could be that close to your legs all the time, too
You: Hm... we can solve that. Or kind of
Playboy: Wdym?
You: I'll give you one of my ribbons
You: Then you can wrap it around your wrist. or your thigh. or your cock, like a pretty gift for me
You: That's a package i'd like to unwrap
Playboy: I see... next time I want to give you a ribbon, i'll strap it to me, so i can get your hands all over my body
You: Its almost break time…
You: You've got something to do or would you like to go to the bathroom with me?
Playboy: Oh, i wish i could
Playboy: I'm leaving early today, Cass has a concert and all my family will gather to prestigiate her. She’s going to play Giselle
Playboy: I'd like to fuck you at the ballet's bathroom, though. That would be a really interesting experience. Almost a dream.
You: Tell me more about your dreams. They might come true
Before you could read the text that had just popped on your screen, Mr. Tanner exclaimed so the whole class could hear:
— What a shame, Mr. Wayne. Using your phone during class.
Surprisingly, no one thought it was weird that you bursted into laughter when Mr. Tanner commanded Tim to read out loud the messages he was exchanging, since they were so much more interesting than the actual class.
Little did they know it was, actually, a nervous laughter.
Tim tried to warn him that the content was inappropriate, however, Mr. Tanner's pride spoke louder. Then, Tim got up, cleared his throat, and started with a wild grin on his stupid pretty face.
— Last night i thought about you before going to bed — He started, confidently — About how pretty your hair is, how soft it is to touch your skin and, mostly, about how much i wanted to hold a handful of your hair as your pretty mouth went on sucking my coc...
— That is enough, thank you, Mr. Wayne, now go to the principal's office immediately.
***
Tuesday you went to Tim’s house. It was weird to call it a house, but he insisted, so you tried to accommodate.
— That was actually  fun — You said, laying beside him.
— Well, I have to admit, it really was — He said — Telling everyone what I wanted to do to you, even if they did not know I was talking about you. It felt amazing.
— Hm… seems exhibitionist to me — You teased,smiling with your eyes closed —  The principal went through our messages?
— Briefly, yes — The boy said, looking at you like you were the only thing he has ever seen, even though you could not see the look in his eyes.
— And how did he react when he realised his best two students were the most naughty ones? — You asked, turning over your stomach so you could see his face.
His beautiful face.
— Oh, he didn't — He said, getting his face closer to yours — Your contact doesn't match your name on my phone, and he didn't go much behind to see me calling you by your name. Neither opened your profile's photo.
— How is it saved, then? — You asked, provocatively.
— I invoke the fifth amendment — He replied with your noses touching.
— A shame — You said.
— Why? I thought having a perfect report card and a reputation to match was your life plan — He stated, putting a lock of your hair behind your ear — Tired of pretending you don't have a wild side in front of others? Should I worry that you gonna tease me to fuck in public?
— No. Apparently, I’m the one who should worry about that, Mr. “I liked telling them what I wanted to do to you” — You replied, quickly, sitting back on your heels — Just thought it would be really funny to see Principal Farehd flustered whenever he looked at one of us.
— Silly me thinking you wanted to take us out of the shadows.
— There's nothing wrong with being discreet — You said, putting your hair up in a ponytail.
He arched an eyebrow.
— What are you doing? — He asked while you started to unbutton his pants.
— You said you wanted a fistful of my hair while my mouth was around your cock — You explained — I'm trying to make your wish come true.
— Seems more like you're trying to make me come — He said as you leaned over to his cock.
— Oh, that's just a plus.
Tim was so fucking vocal you were glad that Damian had a chess competition at school today and Bruce, Duke and Alfred went to cheer for him. It would be embarrassing to a 10 year old to hear his brother moaning like a whore on the end of the corridor, and you were sure that anyone could have heard it.
— Fuck — He said after he came in your mouth — That was so fucking loud Alfred must have heard from Damian’s competition.
You laughed.
— I like it — You said, laying beside him. Tim pulled you closer — My ex barely did any sound in bed. It was weird, like being fucked by a corpse.
— You never told me you had an ex — He said, caressing your waist with his thumb
— He isn’t worth talking about.
— Why not?
— Hm… — You said, thinking if Tim was trustful enough for you to tell him. It has been almost a month since you’ve started this agreement and apparently, not a soul knew about you guys. Maybe Duke, but it was Tim’s fault for not being able to hold his pretty moans back — Lets just say I don’t have good memories of him.
— None?
You shook your head negatively.
— Everything that was good about him was gone the moment he decided to be a jerk.
— What do you mean, Y/N?
— Let's not talk about him, please? — You asked, looking at him with sweet eyes, a glare you knew that had some power over his soul — He is in the past. I rather like the present.
Tim smiled.
— Why don’t you give me a present and sit that pretty pussy of yours on my face — He said, caressing your hips — I miss your taste.
— Your desire is an order, Mr. Drake — You said and he got really excited. As you took off your panties to sit on his face, as he demandes, your phone rang.
You were confused. It was 15h. Who the fuck would be calling you. You walked towards your phone and as you saw the name on your screen, you started to gather your things.
— What’s going on? — Tim asked, sitting on the bed.
— It’s Aly — You said, putting your panties on again — I had to meet them at Fabio’s studio to see something about our costumes and I forgot. Fuck, I’m the worst friend there is.
— Don’t say that about yourself — He said, getting up and dressed. You were so busy putting your shoes on that you simply couldn’t stop Tim from picking the phone up.
— No! — You exclaimed and he started to talk.
— Hello, Alysanne — Tim said, though his voice was pretty different, but at the same time, quite familiar to you. Where have you listened to that deep, cold voice before? He put the call on the speaker.
— Hm… Who is it? — They asked.
— You probably know me as “Playboy” — He said, winking to you as he spoke to Aly. You just wanted to find a hole to bury your head.
— Oh, so you’re the mysterious lucky man. Mind if we talk on a video call? Y/N is gatekeeping your face and I have an urge to judge her taste.
— You want to see my face?
— Do you have any hearing deficiency?
— I would rather stay mysterious for now.
— Hm… so you’re ugly?
— Oh, quite the opposite — He said, smirking — Well, how can I help such a worried person?
— Y/N was supposed to meet me ten minutes ago. I know she is probably taking some very  well deserved dick, but I can’t reschedule our appointment. Would you mind borrowing her to me?— Aly asked after a laugh. You could see that they already liked the “Playboy” — I promise I won't require any of her private parts. I know you’re probably inside her right now. She was always silent and you know what they say about the quiet ones. They’re always the nastiest.
— Oh, they really are. That’s one of the things I like about her — Tim said and you threw one of your shoes on him, but he deflected impressively fast —  I will take her to your meeting point, don’t worry. She’ll be there in ten minutes.
— Y/N, be prepared to be interrogated when you arrive — Aly said and then hung up.
— Why are you so red, my darling?
— Can you kill me? — You asked, hiding your face with your hands — I rather die than listen to Aly tell Fabio about how you were supposedly fucking me while you talked to them on a phone call.
— You know, that’s something we can try someday — He said, smiling, as he approached you with your shoe in hand. He left a peck on your pouted lips before helping you to put your shoe on — It would be fun.
— You say that like you can shut up when you’re inside me — You said — You’re more vocal than a fucking radio.
— Yeah, and you fucking love it — He said, helping you to get up — I’m really upset that I don’t get to taste you, though.
— You are a weird man — You said as you got out of his room — What was that voice?
— Hm… let's just say that the Waynes have pretty competitive game nights — He said holding your backpack with one hand and your hand with the other — And I had great opportunities to improve my imitation abilities.
— And who were you imitating? — You asked.
He laughed as you got closer to the garage door.
— Batman.
Chapter 7-
Tumblr media
To say that Chrissy was happy you were going to prom was the understatement of the century. She was fucking thrilled.
You going to prom meant that she could go to prom and although your mother wasn't pleased, she didn't argue because rules were rules.
Chrissy had taken you out dress shopping the following afternoon at the Starcourt Mall. Shopping was not one of your most favourite things, but your sister somehow made it enjoyable.
The two of you went from store to store, trying on various dresses, all different styles and colours. You dropped by Scoops Ahoy for a break and your good mood increased even more when Chrissy ordered a strawberry ice-cream and ate it. You didn't make a big deal out of it, just smiled behind your own cookies and cream ice-cream.
Steve and Robin were happy to see you guys which was weird because you never really associated with them much, yet they were all smiley and cheerful when you walked in.
After the ice-cream break, you went back to the stores where your favourite dresses were and Chrissy ended up picking a form-fitting, strapless baby pink sequin dress. It suited her. It was absolutely stunning.
You, on the other hand chose literally the polar opposite and although you weren't sure about it, Chrissy had insisted that this dress was the one, so you bought it.
It was a simple black dress that faded into a deep blue down past your knees. The front of it exposed a little bit of cleavage, almost a bit more than you were comfortable with, but again, Chrissy insisted that you looked amazing and you trusted her judgment when it came to fashion. The back of the dress was fully enclosed which was a must have. You didn't even bother trying on anything that didn't cover your back and Chrissy knew that too and only picked out dresses that were enclosed.
One of your scars did peak out across the back of your left shoulder though, but Chrissy had promised she could cover it with makeup for you if you wanted to hide it and you loved her for that.
So after endless of hours spent shopping, the two of you finally climbed back into the Challenger and made your way home.
"Hey, so I was wondering if maybe..." Chrissy started to say before she reached forward and turned your music down before continuing. "If maybe you could drive me to prom? I mean, if you're driving this car to prom. Your date isn't like picking you up, is he?"
"I assumed Jason would pick you up?" You asked, glancing over at her in confusion.
Isn't that what most boyfriends did for prom? The guy would pick the girl up at her house, meet the parents and promise to drop her off at a reasonable hour... wasn't that what most people did?
"I might have already told him that you and I were driving in together."
"What are you going to do if I say that my date is picking me up and driving me instead?" You asked, still unsure why she would want to drive there with you. She hated you driving her to school most days, let alone prom.
"He's not is he? I assumed you would drive. Shit, what if-"
"Relax. I'm not making Eddie pick me up or anything romantic like that. I'm driving myself there." You reassured causing your sister to sigh with relief.
"Thank God because I really didn't want Jason to drive me up in his pickup. Do you know how dirty and messing that truck is on the inside? My dress would be ruined by simply opening the door."
So Carver sucked at driving his truck and also sucked at keeping it clean. What a surprise.
"My Dodge Challenger shits on Carvers truck anyway." You responded, patting the steering wheel. "I'll drive you to prom, don't worry."
"Thank you."
You gave her a small smile before focusing back on the road, but just as you reached to turn the music back up, she suddenly asked;
"Wait, wait, wait, did you say Eddie before? As in Eddie Munson? That's your date to prom?"
Your grip tightened on the wheel for a second before you forced yourself to relax and your grip loosened.
You and Chrissy had been getting along like actual sisters lately, you didn't want to get into a fight with her about this. A lot of people didn't like Eddie, but that was only because they judged him like a book cover by how he looked. Majority of the people that hated him had never even spoken to him before and you were pretty sure Chrissy fell in that category too.
You didn't want to fight about this because if she began saying anything mean about Eddie, you wouldn't be able to hold yourself back and-
"He's good for you." She continued to say, catching you completely off guard. "Ever since Steve Harrington's party... I saw Eddie drive you home. Ever since then, you've been different. A good different. You smile more, you know? You seem happier."
Well, that was not what you expected her to say and now you were speechless. Have you really been smiling more? Eddie did make you happy, but you were surprised that your sister had noticed that.
"Do you love him?" Chrissy suddenly asked.
"What? Love him? I've only known him for a few weeks... I don't... I, uh, I like him, I like him a lot and I guess...I guess, it would be easy to fall in love with him. He's so kind and caring and funny. And he gets me, you know? He's unlike anyone I've ever met and you're right, he makes me happy. He makes me really happy."
Chrissy smiled softly, "I wish I had someone who made me feel like that."
You frowned a little, but continued staring at the road as you drove. Did Jason not make her feel like that? Did he not make her happy?
"Jason... he's great, but..." She started to say like she knew what you were thinking, but trailed off deep in thought.
You flicked your blinker on and pulled over onto the side of the road because you felt like this conversation was not something you wanted to do while driving. You wanted to focus on Chrissy entirely, make sure she knew that you cared and was listening.
She sighed, glancing over at you with a small appreciative smile as you turned in your seat to face her fully.
"Talk to me, Chris." You said softly, using the childhood nickname you hadn't used for years.
That got her to smile again before she took a deep breath and started to talk.
"Jason is captain of the basketball team and I'm the head cheerleader, it's meant to be like this, right? High school sweethearts? But... I don't know if I want that. I mean, Jason... he used to be amazing. He still is. He loves me, I know he does, but..."
"You don't love him?" You asked quietly and Chrissy shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know if I do anymore."
A small part of you wanted to fist pump the air in joy hearing her say that. Jason was an asshole, but Chrissy cared about him and was still his girlfriend, so you remained quiet, waiting for her to continue.
"He treats me really good. He basically cherishes me and I love that, but... he's a bully. He might treat me like a queen, but he treats everyone who's not in our friend group like garbage. Especially you."
"Don't worry about me. I can handle Carvers shit." You hurriedly reassured, but Chrissy shook her head.
"But you shouldn't have to. He never used to be like this, but high school has changed him. He's rude and an asshole to so many people and I... I don't want to be around that. He loves me, he treats me right, but I don't think I love him anymore... like I-I still care about him, I think I always will, but... I don't know, I honestly don't know."
There were tears now shimmering in your sisters eyes and you had to bite back the real comments you wanted to say about Jason. You waited a moment before you spoke, wanting to get your words right and not let your anger for the jock overcome you.
"It's okay to fall out of love with someone." You eventually said. "It happens, people change and drift apart and sometimes that's nobody's fault. Yeah, Jason might treat you perfectly, but he is still a bully to others and you shouldn't have to deal with that if you don't want to."
"What do I do? I mean... shit, we have prom in a few days and then we graduate soon and-"
She was speaking rapidly, working herself up into a panic, so you grabbed her hands with your own and cut her off.
"Hey, hey, look at me."
Chrissy's teary eyes locked with yours and you squeezed her hands before continuing.
"You don't have to do anything straight away. Okay? You said that you don't know, right?" You asked and she nodded with a small sniff. "And that's perfectly okay. You don't have to decide right now what you want to do. If you want to go to prom with him, then go to prom with him and see how he makes you feel. Or if you don't want to go to prom with him, then don't. You don't owe him anything. I'll go to prom with you if it means you not having to go with someone you don't want to."
Chrissy smiled as a few tears trickled down her face, "do you think he will be better? Maybe he'll turn back into the nice guy he used to be?"
Doubtful.
But, you didn't say that out loud.
"Maybe. But, if he isn't then you do whatever you need to do, okay? Like I said, you don't owe him a goddamn thing and if he has a problem with that, then you come and find me, got it?"
Chrissy nodded, but she didn't say anything. Your hands were still holding yours but she was staring out the window, deep in thought before finally meeting your gaze.
"I... I don't think I want to go to prom with him. But, I can't show up to prom without a date though and I'm not letting you ditch Eddie for me."
"I wouldn't ditch, Eddie. You could just come with us." You suggested, but she instantly shook her head.
"And be your third wheel? No thanks."
Okay, that's fair.
"Look, Chrissy. You are one of the most popular girls in school. There would be tons of guys who'd want to go with you." You pointed out, but again she shook her head.
"But they'd all have dates already."
You thought for a moment before getting an idea, "Eddie's friend, Gareth, doesn't."
Chrissy's eyes suddenly lit up.
"Red flannel, fluffy hair, kinda cute? That Gareth?"
You smiled, "yeah, that's him. I can talk to Eddie and see if Gareth is interested?"
"You'd do that for me?"
"Of course. C'mon, we can drive to Eddie's place now and we can talk to him together." You said, letting go of her hands and turning back towards the steering wheel.
It didn't take long to reach the Trailer Park across town. Eddie had never told you his actual address, but you knew he lived at the Trailer Park, so how hard could it be to find?
Turned out, very hard.
The Trailer Park was a lot larger than you expected and after driving up and down every road in the park, you eventually spotted Eddie's familiar van. Chrissy seemed a little nervous as you climbed out the car, but you gave her a reassuring smile before walking up to the front door.
You knocked on the door, but it wasn't Eddie who answered. It was an older man and you found yourself tensing a little and standing up straight on instinct. This man looked nothing like your father, yet you could feel your heartbeat rising.
This must be his Uncle.
You put on a bright smile and held your hand out. "You must be Eddie's uncle. I'm Y/N, and that's my sister, Chrissy."
Wayne stared at you for a moment, his eyes flashing over to Chrissy before landing back on you and he extended his own hand and shook yours with a firm grip.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, dear. Eddie hasn't stopped talking about you for a good few weeks now." The man confessed causing your smile to turn genuine. "I was wondering when I'd get meet you. My nephew didn't mention you coming around tonight though."
"Oh, no, sorry. This is kinda a surprise visit. My sister and I need to talk to him about prom. Is that okay?" You asked, almost nervously.
"Of course, come inside. Eddie is just in the shower, but he'll be out soon." Wayne said, stepping to the side and motioning for the two of you to come in. "Make yourselves at home and excuse the mess, I haven't had a chance to clean after my shift."
You glanced over at Chrissy who was still looking a little nervous before you held your hand out towards her and she took it before you lead her inside. The trailer was small and a little cluttered, but it wasn't messy like Wayne had been insinuating. It was homey. It was kinda nice.
"Would you girls like something to eat or drink? I've got some iced tea in the fridge?"
You glanced over at Chrissy with a questioning look, but she shook her head and you turned back to Wayne.
"We're fine. Thank you though."
He nodded, but walked over to the kitchen anyway and began to pour himself a glass of iced tea while you and Chrissy sat down on the couch. There were reruns of The A-Team playing softly on the television which Chrissy was now watching, but you found yourself eyeing the photo frame on top of the tv cabinet of a very young Eddie holding a guitar.
Wayne must have seen you looking because he walked over with his glass in his hand and grabbed the photo from the cabinet before sitting down beside you.
"He just turned 10 in this picture. I saved for months to buy him the guitar and that smile was worth every penny." Wayne explained, looking down at the photo with a fond smile.
Eddie had told you that his uncle bought him his first guitar for his birthday and you figured this must be the guitar. He looked so happy, smiling brightly at the camera and holding up the guitar proudly. His hair was a lot shorter, almost like a buzz cut and was wearing a large jacket that you assumed was Wayne's because it was like a dress on the little kid. He looked adorable.
"He was such a cute kid." You commented.
"I-I got more photos if you'd like to see them?" Wayne suddenly asked and you nodded.
"I'd love to."
Wayne quickly got up and grabbed a photo album from the bookshelf across the room and within a few minutes you and Chrissy were going through the photos while Wayne explained each one.
You learnt a lot about Eddie by simply listening to his uncle talk and it was clear how much Wayne cared about him.
"This is one of the only ones I got of him as a baby." He said, pointing towards the small polaroid in the top corner of a very naked new born Eddie laying on a changing table. "He's not my biological son, but believe you me, he is my boy. He's a good kid and deserves better than some old fart like me."
"Don't say that. Eddie absolutely cherishes you, I can tell by the way he talks about you. You're everything to him and you have done a wonderful job raising him into a beautiful, kindhearted young man." You insisted, looking away from the photo to find Wayne now smiling at you. "He's lucky to have you."
"Nah, I'm the lucky one. That boy has changed my life, wouldn't know what I'd do without him here."
That caused you to smile softly. It was nice to know that Eddie's uncle was a good man after finding out that his father was in jail and his mother... well, Eddie had never told you and it wasn't any of your business either. She wasn't in the picture anymore, that was all you knew, but Wayne Munson seemed like a good man and a loving and proud uncle.
"Where's this photo from?" Chrissy asked, pointing at the last photo on the page.
It was of a young Eddie on a school stage. He had the same guitar that he was holding in the other photo, but he was standing with a few other kids too and it took you a moment for you to realise that those were his bandmates from Corroded Coffin. Holy shit, they all looked so young.
"Middle School talent show. First time his band performed in front of a crowd."
"I think I actually remember this-" Chrissy began to say before a door further down the trailer opened and you glanced up just as a very shirtless Eddie stepped out the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist.
Your jaw nearly dropped as you stared at him because holy fucking shit, he looked good. His hair was still dripping wet, water droplets trickled along his bare chest and falling down his lean but surprisingly muscular body.
"I may have accidentally used all the hot water and-" Eddie's voice died in his throat when he turned around and saw you and Chrissy on the couch beside his uncle. "Y/N? What are you doing here?"
"Well, currently looking at a very naked baby photo of little Edward Munson." You answered and grinned when his cheeks started to blush.
"Uncle Wayne!"
His uncle just laughed in amusement, "she wanted to see photos."
"That doesn't mean you had to show those kinds of photos, Jesus Christ." Eddie grumbled, rubbing his face with his hands trying to hide his smile.
"I'll put the album away, just go and get dressed, son." Wayne responded.
You watched as Eddie hurriedly walked into his bedroom, closing the door behind himself before his uncle reluctantly put the album back on the shelf. Within a couple of minutes, Eddie returned from his room wearing his usual outfit that he probably slept in because he never seemed to wear anything else, not that you were complaining. It looked good on him.
"I'll leave you kids to it." Wayne suddenly said, grabbing his packet of cigarettes off the bench before exiting the trailer.
Eddie walked over to the two of you and leant against the wall seeming a little unsure as to why you guys were here.
"Your uncle is really nice. And I'm sorry to show up unannounced." You apologised, but Eddie shook his head.
"It's okay. Just caught me off guard. I mean I have Y/N and Chrissy Cunningham sitting in my trailer, that was not something I expected to find when I came out the shower. And I do apologise for the baby photos."
"Don't be. You were a cute baby."
"Just what every guy wants to hear." He replied with a roll of his eyes. "What can I do for you ladies anyway? I mean, I'm assuming that's why you're both here... wait, you don't want any drugs do you?"
"No, no, no." You and Chrissy both said causing Eddie to relax.
"Oh thank God, because I don't like doing that with my uncle around. I'd rather him not know where the money I give him to help with bills actually comes from."
"Your secret is safe with us, right?" You said, glancing over at Chrissy.
She instantly nodded, "of course."
"Much appreciated. So, what can I help you fine ladies with?"
"Does Gareth have a date to prom yet?" You asked, getting straight to the point.
"Uh, no. No, he doesn't. Why?"
"Would he be interested in taking Chrissy to prom?"
Eddie's eyes widened in surprise as he looked between the two of you in shock before frantically nodding.
"Absolutely! I mean... okay, look, I didn't tell you this, but he's kinda had a crush on you since middle school." Eddie admitted, looking at your sister.
That got Chrissy smiling and she started to relax hearing that, "so he might say yes?"
"Might? He will definitely say yes."
Chrissy practically squealed with excitement. You weren't sure if she was excited to hear that Gareth would say yes or excited that she didn't have to go with Jason or maybe it was a mixture of both. Either way, she seemed happy and that was all you cared about.
You stood up from the couch and walked over to Eddie who pushed himself away from the wall just as you reached his side and kissed him.
"Thank you." You whispered against his lips.
Eddie smiled, kissing you again before pulling you into his chest, hugging you tightly.
"What happened to Jason?" He asked quietly, not wanting Chrissy to hear.
"He's an asshole and a bully and she doesn't want to deal with his shit anymore." You simply answered, pulling away from him.
Eddie had an unreadable expression on his face as he stared at the wall behind you, deep in thought before he looked back at you and simply nodded in understanding.
"Y/N, it's getting late. We should go home before mum gets angry." Chrissy called out from the couch.
Shit. Yeah, that was probably a good idea.
"Yeah, we should get going. Thank you again, Eddie. Seriously. Thank you." You said, looking back at him.
Eddie grinned, "anytime, Princess." He replied sincerely, kissing you again before you and Chrissy walked out his trailer.
"It was a pleasure to meet you, Mr Munson." You said, spotting the older man sitting on a foldout chair outside.
"Pleasure was all mine, but please just call me, Wayne."
"Thank you, Wayne. Have a good night." You replied, smiling brightly at him before unlocking the car.
"You girls drive home safely." He called out, giving you a wave before you turned on the car and drove back home.
"Sinclair has a girlfriend?" Eddie turned away from you to study his neighbor as she knelt down to feed a dog in the pen next to the trailer she'd come from and you used the opportunity to wrap your arms around his neck and press another quick kiss to his cheek before climbing into your car.
"Yes, shit. I really have to go! I'll see you tomorrow!" You called out to Eddie from your window as you backed out onto the road and peeled out of the Forest Hills Trailer Park, not daring to glance backwards even once lest you blow your one shot at not being seen.
Okay... realistically, there was a very slim chance Max hadn't seen you- but even if she had, you could just say you forgot something at Eddie's place while you were working on the project. Crap. You were so screwed.
Pulling into the Henderson's driveway, you were immediately met with Dustin gripping his walkie tight as he ran up to your car. "Kira! Where have you BEEN?"
"Fizzgig, it's too early for this kind of energy," you tried to deflect. Turning the car off, you grabbed your bag and got out only to be met with Dustin leaning close and sniffing you. "Fizz!"
"You smell like marijuana-" Dustin said accusingly- "you were with Eddie, weren't you?"
Opting for the path closest to the truth, you agreed, "you already knew that, Fizzgig. Eddie and I had to work on our English project, remember?" You pulled out your copy of Beowulf to wave it in front of his face.
"Were you with him all night?" Dustin hissed and you sighed; he just couldn't leave well enough alone.
"No, I got tired driving home from Eddie's so I crashed at Chrissy's, but would it really have been so bad if I'd been with Eddie all night?" You asked him as the two of you walked towards the house. "What are you afraid is going to happen if I hang out with him? Besides, you like him! You told me how cool you think he is! Why am I not allowed to like him too?"
"So you admit that you like him!" Dustin exclaimed triumphantly causing you to roll your eyes.
"I never said I didn't!" You threw your hands up in frustration as you walked into the house and into your room; Dustin hot on your heels. "I'm allowed to have my own relationships with people, Fizzgig."
"You're in a relationship?" Dustin gasped and you let your forehead thump against the wall next to your closet before turning around to nip this in the bud; hopefully for the last time.
"Dustin-" his face paled as you used his full name as opposed to his nickname- "I love you with everything in me and I never want to do anything that will upset you, but you have GOT to stop with this freaking out over Eddie and I and what we are or aren't to each other!" You pleaded with him, walking over to place your hands on his shoulders. "Please, Dustin, I'm begging you."
"But..." Dustin began, but you cut him off.
"I know Mike tried to tell you that it would change Eddie if something happened between us, but think about it Fizzgig; really think about it. Did anything truly change when Steve and Nancy started dating?" You waited a moment for him to respond, but he just kept looking at the floor. "No- nothing actually changed except for Steve and Nancy being happy- and when they broke up, you and Steve became friends! And when Nancy started dating Jonathan, nothing changed then either." As you spoke, you lead him over to your bed and guided him to sit down next to you.
"I... I guess you're right," Dustin sighed and you wrapped your arm around his shoulders, pulling him into your side.
"Eddie is always going to be Eddie, you never have to worry about that," you assured him. "And I'm always going to be your big sister and biggest supporter, despite what your dad Steve might think-" you gently ruffled his hair as you spoke- "now, how I about I get freshened up, then we can go rent a scary movie from Family Video and come home to watch it and pig out on junk food? Do a scary Sunday-sound good?"
Dustin gave you a brilliant smile and wrapped his arms around your waist, "yeah!"
"You're gonna call off the code red search party, right?" You asked knowingly, trying to stifle your giggle when Dustin froze guiltily at your side.
After a quick shower and a change of clothes, you and Dustin were in your car and pulling into the parking lot of Family Video. "You wanna pick out the movie and I'll pick out the snacks?" you asked as Dustin practically vibrated with excitement in the passenger seat.
"Okay!" Dustin called back at you as he bounced out of the car and into Family Video, his excited greeting to Steve and Robin ringing out behind him. Smiling, you made your way into the video store and leaned against the front counter to talk to Steve.
"You brought him in just as an excuse to see me, right?" Steve fake-flirted, mirroring your position on the other side of the counter.
"You always see right through me-" you teased back, putting the back of your hand against your forehead while you dramatically pretended to swoon- "I couldn't bear to be away from you for even one moment longer." With a grin, Steve reached out and leaned towards you as you leaned towards him, making it as far as having to stand on the tips of your toes before you both burst into laughter.
"Scary Sunday?" Robin questioned as she walked past you and hip-checked Steve out of the way; dumping a bin of returned videos on the counter.
"Of course-" you agreed- "but I also needed to ask the hair for a favor," you added slightly nervously, pulling a few VHS tapes from the bin to help Robin get ready to rewind them.
"Me?" Steve asked at the same time that Robin turned from the computer to gasp, "him?"
"Yeah-" you sighed, looking over towards the horror section to make sure Dustin wasn't paying attention to your conversation- "I need you, Steve, to talk to Dustin about how I'm allowed to have friends," you explained evasively, stacking the opened videos on the counter to create a barrier between you and their inevitable questions.
"The kid's not letting you have friends?" Steve frowned and Robin furrowed her brows as she gave you an assessing glance.
"What are we then?" Robin questioned, taking the tapes from you so you couldn't use them to hide behind. "Strangers? Acquaintances? Chopped liver?"
"No. We're friends. It's just-" without your makeshift barricade, you subconsciously fiddled with your ring- "He's having... trouble accepting one specific friend I've made," you focused on spinning your ring to avoid seeing Robin and Steve's expressions. "A friend I made on my own. Independent of you guys and independent of Dustin too... at first, at least."
"And this friend is..." Robin trailed off, clearly waiting for you to fill them in.
"A guy," you mumbled.
"And this guy is..." Steve added, eyebrows raising up towards his hairline.
"Does it really matter who it is?" You snapped before sighing, your shoulders sagging guiltily. "I'm sorry, I just... I think I might like this guy- and I'm pretty sure he might like me too- but Mike got in Dustin's head and convinced him that everything would change if we ever... became something- not that we will- I mean I only met him a week ago, that's way too fast to-"
"Whoa, whoa-" Steve interjected as your voice became high and thin due to lack of air- "stop." He waited until you took a shaky breath before continuing. "Good. Listen, you don't have to apologize- it's totally fine- but now I really need to know who this guy is," Steve leaned closer to you on your left as Robin did the same on your right.
"Why, though?" You whined, spinning your ring faster. "How could knowing possibly have any impact on what you'd say to Dustin?"
"It'll... determine how I approach the topic, now spill," Steve urged.
"Fine-" you grumbled- "it's Eddie Munson."
"The freak?" Steve clarified and you reached out to hit him, but Robin beat you to it. "Hey!"
"Don't be a dingus, go-" she nudged Steve in the direction of Dustin- "be a dad."
Waiting until Steve disappeared behind a row of video tapes, you focused your attention on Robin. "Thank you," you sighed letting your shoulders slump in relief.
Robin nodded, picking up one of the returns to load it into the VCR to rewind. "It's his hair, right?" Her question caught you off guard and your expression must have shown it. "What? I know Eddie's not... my type, but even I can see he has nice hair. Oh, or is it his eyes? Big brown eyes just-" Robin pantomimed being stabbed in the heart- "a dagger right through the heart, you know? I really don't get why everyone is so-" she flailed her hands around in a frantic gesture- "about him anyway. He's been nice anytime I've ever had to interact with him and his performances during lunch are always entertaining."
"It's just... it's everything about him-" you mused, not noticing Steve and Dustin peeking around the edge of the horror section- "before I even knew who he was, he kept me from getting bumped to the ground by a jock. Then after he agreed to be my partner in English when I didn't know anyone else, he showed me around school so I didn't get lost. He let me sit with him during lunch even though I'm not part of Hellfire. And... he helped me calm down from a panic attack last night-" you dropped your voice slightly and beckoned her closer with a curl of your finger- "not even Dustin has ever been as good at calming me down as Eddie is."
"Seriously?" Robin's eyes were wide as her gaze swept your face for any hint of exaggeration.
"Seriously-" you confirmed, unable to suppress the smile that thinking about Eddie brought to your face- "Eddie makes me so happy... I just wish Dustin knew that." As you were lost in your thoughts of Eddie, Robin looked over your shoulder to make very pointed eye contact with Dustin.
You weren't sure exactly what it was Steve had said to Dustin, but after grabbing the snacks and renting a VHS of A Nightmare on Elm Street (for the third time) Dustin just kept apologizing for trying to keep you and Eddie apart. You'd have to remember to thank Steve the next time you saw him.
Pulling into the school's parking lot on Monday morning, you gave yourself a once over in the rear view mirror before climbing out of the car- having put a little extra care in picking out your outfit and getting ready knowing this would be the first time you'd see Eddie since you'd literally slept with him. Grabbing your backpack from the passenger seat, you stood up to shut your door only to have it stopped by the grip of a hand. Whipping your head around to see who was preventing you from closing your door, you were met with the shark like grin of Jason Carver.
"Not so fast there new girl. I think you and I need to have a little chat," Jason's voice dripped with venom, but his grin never wavered.
You felt the fear trickling down your spine like an ice cold drip, but you did your best not to let it show. "I honestly can't think of a single thing the two of us would ever need to chat about," you countered; proud that your voice didn't waver.
"Don't play coy with me-" he spit, eyes narrowing slightly as he forced you to press back against the open doorway of your car just to keep some distance between the two of you- "Chrissy has been brushing me off ever since she met you, so you're gonna tell exactly what you said to her about me."
You looked around you, trying to get someone to notice the imminent danger you were in, but no one even spared you a second glance as they hurried past your car. "Jason, just let me go... we're going to be late to first period." His responding laugh chilled your blood. "Please, just let me go..."
"Tell me what you said and I'll let you go," Jason's voice dropped down to a low growl as he leaned closer, sinister grin still firmly in place.
Turning your head away from him, you were about to shut your eyes and scream for help when you saw your knight in shining leather approaching. "Princess?"
At the sound of Eddie's voice, Jason's head jerked towards him to snarl, "Beat it, freak- this doesn't concern you."
"Jason? What are you doing?" Chrissy's voice startled both you and Jason, but the smirk you saw on Eddie's face as you ducked under Jason's arm and ran to Eddie's side let you know he'd seen her coming. Lifting his arm to wrap around your waist, Eddie let you press yourself against him while you both watched Jason shut your car door as he faced Chrissy.
"Babe, I told you to meet me outside your first class," Jason chuckled, trying to pivot the conversation away from the compromising position in which he'd just been found.
"You're in the parking lot in front of the main entrance, Jason-" Chrissy frowned as she crossed her arms cautiously over her chest- "I had to walk by here to even get into school."
"You're cutting it pretty close today, then, aren't you?" He asked as he pushed himself away from your car and ran a hand casually through his hair.
"No-" Chrissy shook her head and stood a little straighter- "don't make this about me, Jason, and don't change the subject. What were you doing to my friend?"
"We were just chatting, right new girl?" Jason adjusted his stance so Chrissy couldn't see his face as his gaze locked threateningly on you; causing you to press closer into Eddie, your hands fisting his battle jacket tightly.
Chrissy turned towards you and you felt Eddie's hand gently stroking your waist as you focused your attention on Chrissy; hoping desperately that she knew you were about to lie to her. Shaking your head as subtly as you could, you swallowed thickly, "we... we were just chatting."
"See, babe? Just chatting," Jason smirked and sauntered over to wrap his arm around Chrissy's shoulders; oblivious to how tense she became at his touch.
Chrissy looked between you and Jason and her entire being seemed to deflate. With the fire gone from her eyes, you noticed just how frail and weary she appeared. "Okay," once the word left her lips, Jason was guiding her away from you and into Hawkins High. Peering back behind her, Chrissy called out to you, "I'll see you in Bio?" Before you had a chance to answer her, Jason sped up and they both disappeared into the school.
"Sweetheart-" Eddie's soft voice had your head snapping in his direction- "are you okay? What was really going on?" His hand gently slid up your side to cup your chin, maneuvering your head this way and that to make sure you weren't hurt.
Leaning into Eddie's touch, you sighed as the warning bell rang out. "I'm okay now- thanks to you." Pressing a kiss to his wrist, you took a step towards the school and held your hand out for him to take. "I'll tell you more in Mrs. O'Donnell's class."
Eddie studied your face with narrowed eyes for a minute before threading his fingers through yours as a brilliant grin bloomed on his full lips, "lead the way, princess."
It was truly amazing just how many people stopped to unabashedly gawk as you and Eddie walked hand in hand to Mrs. O'Donnell's classroom; people who had deliberately looked away when Jason had you trapped now couldn't seem to keep their eyes off of you. You did your best to avoid eye contact with any of them, but their whispering was all you could hear...
"The new girl is holding hands with the freak?"
"He must have her under some kind of hex..."
"I wonder if he's planning to sacrifice her..."
You knew Eddie heard the whisperers too because he tried to let your hand go, but you tightened your grip on his hand. Crossing the threshold into your first period classroom, you kept your hold on Eddie as you made your way to your seats. Finally letting his hand go to shrug off your backpack, you slid your desk closer to his before sitting down and grabbing his hand again. "You are something else, princess," Eddie chuckled lowly as Mrs. O'Donnell began her lecture.
With only a few minutes of class left, Mrs. O'Donnell instructed everyone to discuss their Beowulf project with their partners and you intended to take the opportunity to fill Eddie in on what had happened with Jason; but Eddie had a different idea.
As you turned towards him, he let your hand go. You furrowed your brow at the action, but your expression quickly shifted into surprise when you watched him slide off his skull ring before grabbing your hand again. Spreading your fingers, Eddie slipped the ring on each of them; trying to find one that it would fit. A frown formed on his handsome face, though, when the ring proved too large or too wide to fit on any of your fingers.
"Eddie... what are you-" you began to ask, voice shaking slightly, but Eddie shook his head and reached up to his neck. You watched, stunned, as he unclasped his chain, slipped the ring onto it next to the guitar pick, and leaned forward to put it around your neck.
"Might as well do this right, princess," Eddie breathed into your ear as he fastened the chain around your neck before pressing a gentle kiss to your cheek.
Your head was spinning as your every sense was laser focused on Eddie as he sat back in his desk. "D-do what right?"
"Show everyone that you're mine."
I would love details on the Reverse Robin AU idea, I always adore those. (Though I often feel they miss an opportunity by not having Duke be first. Then again I sort of have a "Either its the first four Robins being reversed, or its all of them and thus Duke is first" system. A lot depends on what swerves the story best.) Sorry for the off topic ramble and no pressure to share, but yeah it'd be cool.
One thing I am notably curious about is how you'd handle the pre death relationship between Bruce & Stephanie. Cos so much of their canon one is filtered through his grief over Jason and projection onto her which led to his awful treatment of her, which led to her desperation to please him. Without that death things would probably be a lot more chill.
Still, I could see a similar death happening if Bruce got to up his own ass with trying to play master mind and it all blowing up in his face (Which I insist would have happened with his crime control plan regardless of Stephanie.)
No apology necessary! I love off topic rambles and am prone to doing them myself (see how long this explanation ended up for reference lol).
Here's a link to a sort of fan-fic/sort of explanation I wrote earlier (Though I think you already found it). I would love to flesh it out into a full fic, but I'm not sure that will ever actually happen.
As for Steph and Bruce specifically though, I think there's still tension between them, but it comes from a different place. Spoiler is a rouge agent, a teenager with no training, no oversight, and a personal score to settle, and Bruce isn't really prepared to handle that. Damian came to him pre-trained and if Tim comes second (which I think he should since he's both before and after Steph in canon) he was doing it because he believed it was the right thing to do. Without Jason Bruce has never had to deal with anyone who's completely untrained before, and without Dick he's never had to deal with a personal grudge as motivation (except his own, and he's really not prepared to get into that), so the combination of them in Steph seems far to dangerous to have in the field. Besides, it sets a bad precedent, he can't just let any teenager start running around fighting crime or he'll have a We Are Robin situation on his hands, and he already has a Robin. I don't think it's really personal for him, it just makes logical sense for everyone if she would stop, but for some reason she won't, even after Cluemaster is dead. (She also reminds him a little to much of himself at that age, but he's not going to think about that).
On Steph's end I think things are a little more complicated. I think the indifference would both drive her insane and give her this sort of false hope. No matter what she does it never seems to be enough, but the parts of her Bruce seems to dislike are all related to Spoiler, not Stephanie, which means she can change them! But there are parts of Steph that are baked into Spoiler, which carry over to Robin in turn that she can't get rid of no matter how hard she tries. Plus there are just enough similarities between the way Batman talks to her and the way Arthur did that sometimes it activates her fight instinct when logically she knows she should just listen to him. And unfortunately Bruce doesn't respond well to being snapped at, but he also never seems to hold it against her for more than a day. So Steph just keeps running in this circle and never knows where she stands with Bruce, and in some ways it's better and in some ways it's worse, because at least with her dad she knew where she stood and could stop trying.
I don't like that answer, trust me I wish I could say things between them would be better, but personally I don't think so. Bruce might be nicer about the way he says it, but I think he'd still want Steph to stop and Steph would still think if she tries hard enough he'll realize he was wrong.
Sorry, that got away from me, but anyway, I think the concept of including Duke is interesting! I just don't really know enough about him to know how it would play out or have thoughts on how We Are Robin could happen without Robin.
Hii can i get some hcs for stranger things characters (robin, steve, eddie, chrissy, el/jane, mike, and argyle) with a reader who is like mitsuri from demon slayer??
:D
um. YES!??!? HOLY SUCKING SHIT I LOVE THIS GRRRR
Tumblr media
Warnings: mitsuri backstory mentioned, injuries, emotional shit, eddie is a perv, reader is kindof oblivious.
Robin:
robin first sees you injured and crying loudly, and when she actually sees your features it takes every fiber in her body not to fall down to her knees and start worshiping you.
“um.. are you okay..?”
You sniffle and look up at her, and literally see this dreamy girl about your age, checking up on you.
‘oh. My. God’ ‘OHMYGOD SGES SO PRETTY IM GONNA SCREAM’ ‘HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH’ ‘GAY GAY HOMO GAY’
From that day on, robin is such a protective bb! Always standing up for you
Tumblr media
(them)
ANYWHO. When she sees you in your tiny demon slayer uniform fighting a demon she looked like a cartoon character. Eyes wide and jaw on the floor. Then she noticed iguro with the same expression and litterally bitch slapped him. (Which didnt hurt but he acted like it so that you could patch him up). But yeah, shes super protective and vv sweet. She has some jealousy issues tho (i would too look at her gf, that is a drop dead gorgeous person)
Tumblr media
Steve:
steve is such a big sucker for you omg he’d do anything for you.
once he heard about how nobody wanted to marry you he got down on his knees. “Uhhh i dont have a ring but will you marry me?”
which he thought youd laugh it off as a joke but you cried really hard and after 15 minutes of steve calming you down, you said yes
so you guys got married with dollar store rings that left a green-ish imprint on your finger, but you guys never cared about that expensive stuff, all you guys cared about was eachothe-
*slaps myself out of cheesiness* ok.. next…
Tumblr media
Eddie:
Grr hes such a tittie man. You’d come back home from slaying demons and he’d be on the couch watching tv and waiting for you to come back in your uniform so he can shmush his face in your boobs.
hes so hooked for you omg. He giggles and kicks his feet giddily whenever you guys are on a call or hanging out.
he loves to give you stuff. If theres something he sees that looks like something you’d want but its too expensive? He makes drug prices higher.
Tumblr media
chrissy:
CHRISSY CHRISSY CHRISSY OMG.
IMAGINE YOU BOTH ARE LIKE CHEERLEADERS AAAH
ok so you guys both are cheerleaders (you have the boobie window on your uniform still ofc bcs mitsuris outfit is iconic.) nd everytime you guys are cheering just the two of you, she has to look away bc ur not wearing a bra and she doesnt want to seem like a perv but her body is screaming at her to look again. She braids your hair and does your makeup<3
you guys are in a secret relationship ofcourse, (chrissy is ‘dating’ jason) and she doesnt like it one bit. She wants to show you off as her girlfriend, but you, you think its romantic. You call it “forbidden love” and blush and giggle. Ofcourse, you’re sad too but you dont want to ruin her reputation.
Tumblr media
Argyle:
argyle ugh i lov him hes a big teddy bear. hes litterally drooling at the sight of you when he first meets you. you’re giving your order to argyle as he's just spacing out. All he got was ‘6 six large Hawaiian pizzas’ and thats all he needs to know. he almost messes up the pizza from looking at you so much.
when he sees you at the byers house playing with will and ell, he freaks out. While hes jus standing there with wide eyes and an ‘o’ shaped mouth you’re like ‘oh my goodness its that cute boy!!’
yeah, hes more than freaking out
Tumblr media
El/jane:
you guys meet through will. Shes always so awestruck when shes with you, always nodding profusely when you’re telling a story. You and her will go out at night and watch the stars, occasionally you guys will wake up tangled in eachother and at a baby park, wondering what the hell happened
Tumblr media
mike:
hes freaking obsessed with every inch of you. As a boy going through puberty, this man has never seen titties in his life untill you accidentally flashed him. When you noticed, you appoligized till you almost lost your voice.
He loves playing with your hair. When hes laying between your thighs, he’ll reach up and twirl your hair untill his arms hurt <3
hes a bitch to everyone but you. He’ll be sassing somebody and the second you walk in hes a soft baby, giving you puppy dog eyes and hugging you.
Hi hello hi it's been a long time I'm just passing through and i just wanted to say that I am ABSOLUTELY enamoured with the st dirty dancing AU it's starting to take over my brain and so here's your free pass to rant about it if you want !
Sincerely hope you've been doing great! Much love /p
–💐
OH HI HELLO OKAY UHHH
so. stranger things dirty dancing au: ronance edition, here we go.
in terms of characters i've got: steve as johnny, eddie as billy (who is johnny's cousin in the film, but is just steves friend/friend-he's-in-love-with in this au), robin as penny, nancy as baby/francis + then jason as either robbie or that annoying dude (kellermans nephew, cant remember his name bc i dont like him lmao) aand finally higgens as the main boss dude
(this is probably how the characters would work in the steddie version as well except technically eddie would be in baby's character slot but also the way it works in my head is different but this isn't that post so *waves it away*)
in terms of plot: it would still follow the same general storyline of johnny and baby in the film, (they meet, johnny needs a partner bc penny's gonna be out of commission, they practice, they fall in love, johnny's accused of theft, "nobody puts baby in the corner", they presumably live happily ever after) but with some adjustments!!
i'm cutting out most of the conflict with baby and her dad + lisa and robbie just bc it wouldn't fit in anywhere naturally yknow?
okay this is going to get a bit long so it's going under a cut <3
so the Wheelers go to some fancy resort-type thing for the summer and Nancy and Mike are both kinda moody about not getting to spend summer with their friends/doing what they want but Mrs Wheeler is like. trying to fix her family yknow so they're there.
Nancy sees Steve and Robin perform on that first night, after being forced to dance with some dunce and when she finally manages to escape she decides to go snooping, bc she's a Journalist (very much a "this sign can't stop me bc i can't read" type situation), and she ends up stumbling across Eddie who is attempting to haul like three entire watermelons on his own so she gives him a hand (he makes the lamest attempt ever at telling her she's not allowed there, and she ignores him and he's like 'aight') so she follows him to the staff house where they're having their lil party and then Robin and Steve come in again and dance some more but it's totally different to how they were dancing down at the main house and Eddie's like "That's Steve Harrington, he's one of my best friends- he actually got me the job here." and then he's like "And that's Robin Buckley, she's my other best friend and she got Steve his job here." and Nancy's trying to be totally normal about how Robin is moving bc sheesh is that a lot of hip work ("You'd think they were together!" "They're not?" "Nah, they're platonic with a capital P, if you can believe it.")
anyway so Robin is the one who comes over and hip checks Eddie and asks what Nancy's doing here and Eddie's all "she's here with me" and Nancy doesn't quite get why that makes Robin laugh but she's also sort of distracted by how pretty Robin is when she laughs and then suddenly Robin is dragging her on the dance floor to teach her how to dance like the staff kids and it's all sorts of accidentally flirtatious and boom Nancy's got a crush now
and then a few nights later she's being uncomfortably flirted with by whoever-i-decide-that-guy-will-be and he whisks her off to the kitchens where she see's robin curled up in a corner crying but trying to be quiet about it bc holy shit that guy is her boss and Nancy gets him out of there and then she finds Eddie and tells him and then Eddie tells Steve and then Steve immediately starts heading to the kitchen and it turns out Robin was having a meltdown due to sensory overload and Robin's kind of mad they told Nancy bc she's worried Nancy's gonna go tell someone from management that she's not fit to dance there but Nancy just wants to make sure she's okay
she comes back to the staff house another night just to check on Robin and finds out that Eddie's band has their first gig of the season lined up at a bar somewhere and at first Nancy doesn't get why Steve seems so upset about it until she finds out that it's booked the same night that Steve and Robin have a show at the other hotel so Steve won't be able to go and Eddie's trying to tell him it's fine but Steve's like "but i've never missed your first show" and Nancy's like "well can someone fill in for you so you can go?" and they give her the whole spiel about how everyone works there so everyones booked in doing other things and then Robin's like "unless you wanna do it" and then Steve's like "I mean..." and Robin elbows him and tells him it was a joke but then Eddie points out that Nancy can sorta dance, she picked it up fairly quickly that first night so now suddenly Nancy is Robins partner for this show that they've got in two weeks.
all the usual practice shenanigans happen, with the "this is my dance space" and the "see this? spaghetti arms" and "don't put your heel down!" until we finally get to the "are you trying to kill me?! is this your idea of fun?!" "oh yeah- we've got the show in two days, you won't show me any of the lifts, im not sure of my turns, im doing all this just to save your ass when all I really wanna do is drop you on it." "well then let's get out of here." and then they go practice in the woods.
(side note: the reason im so hellbent on figuring out a steddie version of this au is bc i just know they would be so perfect for the above scenes, i can imagine eddie saying the thing about dropping steve on his ass so vividly)
they do the show and Robin is really pleased with getting to wear a suit instead of the dress, and Nancy spends half the night trying not to get distracted by the sight of Robin in a suit, and then when they get back they find out Steve got his shit rocked bc some homophobe saw him and Eddie kissing outside the bar (Steve did win tho so he's got that going for him) and Eddie's like. still too mad about Steve getting hurt (not mad at steve, just heated yknow?) to really be useful and Robin doesn't want to leave them so Nancy like. breaks into the main office bc that's the only place she knows there's a fully stocked first aid kit and she does her best to fix Steve up
later she goes to Robin's room to like. apologise for fucking up some parts of the dance and also for not really being able to help Steve 'enough' and then that's how they have the whole "You're not scared of anything-" "Me? I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I saw, what I did, who I am. And most of all, I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life...the way I feel when I'm with you." interaction where they wind up dancing in a scene that is probably more sexually charged than any sex scene could hope to be and then they DO sleep together and then they're all couple-y and shit
and then blah-blah-blah maybe someone see's Steve's face or whatever and makes a tasteless comment and Robin rocks their shit bc no one gets to talk bad about her best friend and then that ends up being what prompts someone to accuse Robin of being the thief and there's the whole thing with Nancy trying to convince everyone it couldn't've been Robin without giving their relationship away until she finally admits they were together all night so there's no way Robin could have stolen anything
and they find the real thieves but they end up firing Robin anyway bc the dance staff aren't supposed to mingle with the guests and Nancy is both outraged and upset but Robin's just touched that she stood up for her and she tells Nancy she'll be okay, she's always landed on her feet and they have a teary goodbye and yeah (i've decided that Robin still can't drive, but Steve quit when Robin was fired bc they're a DUO (but Eddie is gonna stay until the end of the season bc Steve and Robin were both like "dont you dare-") so he drives her sjdfshk)
BUT THEN THE NIGHT OF THE TALENT....NIGHT (for those who haven't actually seen dirty dancing, im so sorry about the lack of context for some of the things im saying sjfhsdk bc im aware that this seems to have come out of fucking nowhere) and Nancy's hidden away in the corner with Mike and their parents while they watch the opening but then! who comes through door? it's Robin! and she grabs Nancy (i dont know yet if i'm gonna use the iconic line or not, bc i am thinking of actually having Nancy known as 'baby' throughout the fic and then they can have the "what's your real name, baby?" "Francis" except this time it's "Nancy." but idk yet) and she gives her little speech about she's sorry for crashing but her and steve always do the last dance and seeing as her and steve are technically fired, she's gonna do it her way.
Eddie's already there changing the music bc he's probably the one who helped her sneak in in the first place and then they do their little routine from the show at the other hotel and then Robin jumps into the crowd and all the staff kids are dancing their way and it's chaos in the best way and Nancy joins her in the crowd and they dance together before slipping away and Nancy's mum stops her and just kind of looks at them and then hugs Nancy and then they escape into the night or whatever.
and then maybe there'd be a time-skip and Robin and Steve are now freelance dance teachers and Nancy comes in to show them the article she wrote, fresh off the printer, that boasts the opening of their brand new dance studio.
Ok shit i jus found this and is so good. Like damm i love double mystery n i AM HOOKED!!! Wait more like triple mystery gg on. Ahhhhh cant wait for the next ep. N i really really like barbs n ed nigma dynamic like damm. I really really realllly hope that ed nigma dosent betray barbs in a bad way in the end cos damm i really do like their dynamic!!! (not in a slash way, i do not want tat no siree, more of the relucant my enemy's enemy is my fren way) N barbs has an active role like a real active role, n competent with attitude!!! N like barbs voice is kinda how i always imagine it so like bonus pts man. And wow like this is one of my first audio story series n damm it good. Like ahhh n the sound effects oh man is so real!!!! Ahhhhhh this is some good shit rite here!
Next paragraph is slightly spoilery but theres only 4 ep so far soooo not much
At first i tot it was an au where bruce wasnt batman kind of thing but the barbs n ed nigma section is like oooooo its not its not n more questions yay theres more gg on and really it becomes a mystery story i am hooked hahahaha
But pls pls be warned bout the mature explicit warning, grusome serial killer on the loose n uh autospy sounds like the squishy organ bodies sounds lots of tat. Theres transcript provided with each episode, if u dun want the sounds but want the story. N i think there other audio language besides english as well.
Gogo listen/read it!!! Its good n the suspense ahhh!!
Irony of the batfam is like bruce adopted the batkids so that they have a chance of a normal childhood, but because of robin training i cant imagine there was time to be a normal kid day to day, going out with friends, just chilling, or just doing whatever or developing a hobby. Whatever remaining innocence they might have still had was proberbly stripped away as well.
Thinking about how Dick was the first Robin, but Jason was the first legacy Robin.
Like, Jason was the first one who had to figure out how to be a hero in a hand-me-down cape. Jason was the first one who had to figure out who he wanted to be while wearing another boy's mask. He had to forge his own identity, while outwardly presenting as someone else, and I don't think he gets enough credit for being number two.
We see him struggle with this almost immediately when he puts the suit on in Batman #368.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bruce is trying to be a good dad, but his reassurances are like a band-aid over a bullet hole. He does not fully understand or appreciate the unique situation that Jason is in. It is not the anonymity that's troubling him. It is the fact that there's already a secret name tied to Robin, and it's not his.
There's a complex sort of three-fold identity at play here (Jason is Robin. Yes, the real Robin, but no, not that Robin.) and it is something that neither Bruce nor Dick have ever had to deal with before.
For the most part he suffers in silence; seeing Dick move on and blossom into Nightwing definitely helps, and Jason's insecurities are sort of put on the back burner. I don't think he had the time or the space to really process them, but whatever.
(It's not like repressed emotions will combine with unimaginable trauma to lead him down a path of self-destruction and warp his relationship with his family for the rest of his life, right?)
Despite the unacknowledged complexities of his situation, Jason LOVES being Robin. He loves helping people, and he loves making his dad proud, and eventually he finds joy in having this weird second-hand persona.
Tumblr media
Batman #385
Jason finds power in calling upon the reputation of his predecessor, drawing inspiration from the thing he initially feared, and that is magic.
He’s just cool and important, okay??? He was Robin and he fucking mattered.
What’s Lost is Found - Batfamily Imagine - Part Nine
Tumblr media
Warning - Depressive Thoughts, Angst Content
Part One  Part Two  Part Three Part Four  Part Five  Part Six  Part Six.Five  Part Seven  Part Eight   Part Ten  Part Eleven
Requested by Anon -  I really love the batdad concept,it's so cute! I was just wondering,are we going to have some flashbacks of Bruce being a dad to (y/n) in What's Lost is Found?
***
“We’re here,” Jon whispered as he dropped out of the clouds to fly low. Your heart skipped a beat when you took your face out of his neck to see the manor again. A wave of joy and relief washed over you. Home.
“You know the secret entrance to the cave, right?” You pointed down at a rock by the lake.
Jon hummed, flying toward it. “Yeah, it’s how I met Damian back when we used to hang out.” You tightened your arms around his neck as he hit the rock at full speed. The two of you went through it and flew down a dark tunnel. “I remember when Damian first told me about the holographic rock. I didn’t believe him.”
“Oh, I know.” You laughed despite everything. “We made fun of you through the camera as you poked at it before you toppled down the tunnel.”
Jon smiled for the first time since you left prom. “I figured.” He sobered once he got to the end of the tunnel and flew into the cave. Much to your surprise, the lights were on. The batcomputer running data. Someone sat in the batcomputer’s chair. Your heart went into your throat, thinking it was your dad for a moment before you told yourself it wasn’t.
The person in the chair turned when Jon landed behind them. “Oh, Mx. Wayne,” Lucius said, blinking in surprise. He frowned at Jon. You tried to get out of Jon’s arms, but he wouldn’t let you go.
“Jon, it’s Lucius. It’s fine,” you whispered in his ear. He relaxed and set you on your feet. “Hi, Lucius. What’s happening?” You went over to the computer, frowning at the footage from across the city.
Lucius turned back to the computer. “Well, the city is under siege.” He brought up security video from Wayne Tower. A figure you knew led in a group of mercenaries. Your heart stopped at the sight.
“Is that Bane?” Jon caught you before your knees gave out.
“We’re not sure. Batgirl is working to get a confirmation.” Lucius gave you a look of concern. “I was under the impression you were retired, Mx. Wayne.”
“Not now.” You swallowed hard. “Did you call in the Justice League?”
Lucius pursed his lips. “No, there appears to be a number of disasters around the world. The Justice League has their hands full.” You pulled away from Jon and went to the computer.
“This was set up.” You frowned, accessing the second keyboard on the batcomputer. “There is no way all this could happen at once.”
Jon pressed close to your back, hovering rather protectively. “You don’t know that.”
You glared at him to back off, but he stayed where he was. “There was a breakout at Stryker's Island and Blackgate. An earthquake in Peru and Japan. Plus there is a terrorist attack in Atlantis. All this on top of Gotham under siege. This is not a coincidence.”
Lucius hummed. “You are very much like your father, Mx. Wayne.” He frowned at the computer, bringing up footage of Gotham General Hospital. A tank-like batmobile crashed through the soldiers’ blockade around the hospital. Damian jumped out of one of the hospital’s windows and glided down into the batmobile. You relaxed, knowing he was safe.
“Your design?” You pointed at the batmobile.
“Yes, your father requested it before...well.” Lucius folded his hands, smiling as Damian drove off. Jon breathed down your neck. His arm wrapped around your waist. Irritation build up inside, but you ignored it.
“I’m surprised you’re here in the cave, Lucius. We closed it up.” You flipped through the other footage, trying to get a better view of Bane-looking figure. Jon’s arm tightened enough to hurt. You put your hand on his. He relaxed.
“I was evacuated here along with some of our...more sensitive projects when we received intelligence about the siege.” Lucius frowned, bringing up the police scanner. “Oh dear.”
“We got 10-71 on 45th and 3rd. Gotham Gazette is on fire.” The police scanner beeped as another voice cut off the first. “10-72. Firefighters are trapped in the building by a 10-32.”
You pulled away from Jon. “Is anyone able to help them?”
Lucius shook his head. “No, Batman, Red Hood, and Batwoman are on the docks stopping more soldiers from entering the city. Red Robin and Spoiler are defending the police station. Batgirl is trailing the Bane lookalike. Orphan, Bluebird, and Signal are preventing Two Face’s bank robberies. Huntress, Batwing, Starfire, and Nightwing are MIA.”
“What?” Your blood ran cold. Jon’s arm tightened around your waist again. “Dick and Kori are here?!”
Lucius nodded. “Yes, we lost track of them two hours ago after they went to stop the Penguin’s gun smuggling ring.” He got to his feet.
“We have to go.” You turned to look at Jon. Jon’s eyes were wide. He shook his head. “Jon, we have to go. They need us.”
“No, this is too dangerous. We know this is all because of you. They’re doing this to get you.” Jon cupped your cheek, looking you in the eye. He was more serious than you ever seen him before. For the first time, you couldn’t see the puppy dog elements that you loved about him.
You shook your head, pulling away from him. “So what? People need help.” You headed over to the display case that held Jason’s Robin suit. “I’ll use this since my suit doesn’t fit anymore.”
“You won’t have to do that, Mx. Wayne,” Lucius said. You looked back at him in surprise. He smiled and gestured over to a huge case next to the batcomputer. The Wayne Tech logo made your heart skip a beat. “I have something for you. Consider it a graduation gift if you will.”
“(Y/N).” Jon grabbed your arm as you headed over to the case. “Please. We have to stay out of this.”
“Do you know something I don’t?” You spun to him. Rage sparked in your heart again. “Because my family is out there in danger! We have to help them!”
Jon sighed deeply. “Fine.” He closed his eyes. You pulled your arm away from him, wondering if your relationship with Jon will ever be the same again. Tears burned your eyes, but you focused on what was important. You pressed your hand against the bioreader of the case. It beeped, registering your name and opening to reveal a brand new high tech Robin suit.
It took your breath away. “Oh my.”
Lucius chuckled. “Get ready, Mx. Wayne. We need you out there.” You timidly took the suit out, feeling the armor and tech. It was the suit you always dreamed of. You turned to go to the changing area, brushing against Jon as you past him.
“(Y/N).” Jon followed you into the changing room. You sighed, undressing even though he was there. He fell silent, blushing and turning his back to you.  He took off his shirt, revealing his Superboy suit underneath.
“I can’t believe you didn’t tell me about anything of this,” you hissed, slipping on the suit. It was like a second skin. The tech turned on at your biological signature. You put the mask on, finding it suddenly connected to the batcomputer.
Jon groaned, spinning to face you in his full Superboy suit. “I couldn’t. This is so much bigger than we thought. I didn’t even know about all this until just before prom and that’s only because it was decided you would stay with us longer.”
Your hands clenched into fists. Rage ate you alive along with the worry for your family. Dick and Kori were MIA. You knew they could take care of themselves, but why did you have to cause all this? Why did you kill Bane? Why did your father have to die? “I can’t talk about this now. We have to go. Those firefighters need our help.” You marched out of the changing room.
“As you can tell, the suit is connected to the batcomputer. It also increases your strength and agility.” Lucius smiled at you in the suit with pride. “I would give you more detailed instructions, but we need you to learn as you go.”
You nodded. “Wouldn’t have it any other way.” You turned to Jon. He pursed his lips and picked you up in his arms.
“Keep your comlink on, Mx. Wayne.” A trace of concern crossed Lucius’ face. “We can’t lose contact with anyone else.”
“They won’t,” Jon answered for you as he flew into the air. You stayed tense in his arms, wondering if you should have trusted Jon. A lump formed in your throat. You pushed that aside. Jon flew out of the cave and straight toward the war-torn city.
***
You helped the firefighter to his feet. “Robin, where have you been?” he gasped as flames ate up the floor below you.
“Around.” You half-carried him to the window. Jon appeared, taking the firefighter from you.
“Get out of the building. It’s not stable.” Lucius’ voice filled your ear. Jon floated the firefighter down after giving you a warning look.
“Can’t. One more inside.” You looked up, seeing the heartbeat through your mask’s bio-vision. The suit was amazing. You felt more alive than you had in a long time.
Rolling out of the way of falling debris, you flipped your way up through the hole in the ceiling. “Help.” A weak voice came from the stairwell. You wandered over, putting in your rebreather to help with the smoke. It was thicker up here.
You opened the door to the stairwell only to see a blast of flames hurling toward you. Jumping out of the way, you heard a chilling laugh. “Come on out, Robin,” a male voice shouted. Your mask identified the voice as the Human Flame. “Let me burn you up. Give me that million.” You took out a freeze grenade and threw it around the corner.
“Don’t you hate Martian Manhunter? Why are you even in Gotham?” You smiled when you heard him howl. Moving so fast to the point where you thought you were flying, you ran around the corner and kicked him hard in the face. He grunted. The ice that formed around him shattered. He slammed into the wall. “Woah.” You laughed, flexing your arm in the suit. “This is so cool.”
Suddenly, an arm wrapped around your waist and you really were flying. “The building is coming down and you are just hanging out in here?” Jon grumbled in your ear. He picked up the Human Flame by the scruff of his costume and carried you both outside. He dropped the Human Flame by one of the cop cars.
“I thought it was another firefighter.” You wrapped your arms around his neck. “That was exhilarating.”
“Mx. Wayne, we lost contact with Batman. His last location was at northeast end of the docks,” Lucius said. Your blood ran cold.
“Are you sure we’re ready to let Damian know we’re here?” Jon looked nervous as he flew toward the docks when you pointed in the right direction.
You snorted, pretending your hands weren’t shaking. “He probably already knows we’re here.” A high pitch whistle filled the air. You looked over Jon’s shoulder to see a missile coming toward you. “Jon!”
Jon dropped you, taking the hit. The explosion sent you soaring to the ground. You pulled out your grapple gun, flipping through the air before firing it at a nearby roof. It took the impact as you rolled into your landing. Jon went flying, crashing into the street a block away.
You sprinted down the street toward Jon only for bright headlights to suddenly beam from behind you. Going off instinct, you rolled into an alleyway as brakes squealed to a stop. You blinked at the tank-like batmoblie. Batman hopped out. You felt sick, reminding yourself that wasn’t your father.
“TT.” He marched to you. “This is not the time for some simpleton to dress like Robin.”
“I’m not a simpleton and I can’t believe you talk like that when you’re Batman. Who will be scared of you?” you retorted, smiling at the shock on his face.
“(Y/N), go home.” He grabbed your arm. “This is a big enough disaster without you making it worse.”
You yanked your arm out of his grasp. “Shut up.” He narrowed his eyes at you. “I made this mess, so I have to help clean it up.”
“Ouch,” Jon groaned, appearing at the opening of the alleyway with a limp. “You okay, Robin?” He came to your side. Damian eyed him.
“You brought them here, Superboy?” Damian snarled. It was almost like they were never friends in the first place. Jon bit his lip nervously, keeping his eyes on you. “You idiot, don’t you understand?! This is what they want! You think that missile was a mistake!”
You swallowed hard. “Why was your comlink off?” You crossed your arms, pushing aside your anger and frustration. “We were sent to look for you.”
“Fox.” Damian growled. “He gave you that suit too, didn’t he?” Damian tried to grab your arm again. You stepped out of his reach.
“He said Nightwing and Starfire are MIA.” Jon wrapped an arm around your waist. Damian stared at Jon’s arm before glaring darkly at Jon. To his credit, Jon scowled right back at him.
“Yes, I was about to investigate before you dropped in front of my car.” Damian  yanked you away from Jon. “Keep your hands to yourself, Superboy.”
Jon growled. “Robin and I have been dating for quite some time. I have a right to touch them if they want me to.”
The pure fury on Damian’s face was priceless. If this wasn’t happening in the middle of a war-zone, you would have enjoyed it more. “Nightwing and Starfire,” you said, stepping between the two men. “We have to go find them now.”
“Fine.” Damian’s grip tightened on your arm. He pulled you toward the tank-like batmobile. “You’re coming with me and you’re going to stay in the batmobile. Do you understand?”
Jon trailed behind you before flying into the air. You hopped into the batmobile. “I’m not staying in here. You need backup, Damian.” The comlink button was off. You switched it back on.
“Oh good, Mr. Wayne. Welcome back into the fold,” Lucius said sarcastically. Damian hopped in beside you.
“TT, some people don’t need your sarcasm, Fox.” Damian glared at you as the batmobile sealed and took off toward the Iceberg lounge.
Lucius hummed. “Mr. Pennyworth called. He is in Smallville and discovered Mx. Wayne and Mr. Kent have disappeared from their prom. I informed him that they were here.”
Damian’s eyes shot to you at the word ‘prom’. You did your best not to look at him. “Tell him we’re sorry, but this is something I have to do,” you said, pursing your lips. You glanced up to see Jon flying above the batmobile.
“Of course.” Lucius’ voice clicked off.
“Prom? You went to prom with him?” Damian glanced at you. His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly. “Are you dating him?”
“Yes, if you must know.” You crossed your arms.
Damian frowned. “Has he...have you and him....?”
You snorted. “Why do you care? I’m just the one who tarnished our father’s legacy.”
Damian slammed on the batmobile’s brakes, sliding to a stop. “You did.” He glared at you. “I will let you back me up, but you have to do everything I say and you are to go home with Grayson once we find him.”
You nodded, not trusting yourself to answer out loud. A tear slipped out of your mask. You quickly wiped it away with your hand. Damian noticed. He grunted, hopping out of the batmobile.
Jon landed beside the car, offering you a hand. “You okay?” Jon whispered, eyeing Damian.
“It’s fine.” You let Jon take your hand as you both trailed after Damian. Damian glared up at the Iceberg Lounge.
“Why is (Y/N) here?” Tim demanded, landing next to Damian with Steph behind him.
“It’s going to be like this all night, isn’t it?” you said to Jon. Jon nodded, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. Steph raised an eyebrow at the sight. Tim just frowned.
Someone landed behind you. “All I know is that Dick is going to kill us all, and Superboy is going to get castrated for sure,” Jason chuckled, walking up to join the others.
Jon shifted uncomfortably. “Stop it.” You glared at the others. “Can we just focus on saving Nightwing and Starfire please?”
“Huntress and Batwing escaped and reported in. Apparently, the Penguin hired Deathstroke.” Tim worked on his wrist computer. “And they’re waiting for us to take the bait.”
“Then we go.” You started toward the building, but Jon held you back.
“No, you don’t.” Damian gripped your shoulder, pulling you away from Jon. “This is a trap for you. I bet they’re trying to collect the bounty on your head.”
You narrowed your eyes, swallowing the rock in your throat. “That’s Dick in there, Damian.”
Damian glared back at you. “No, you’re not going in,” Tim said, stepping up to glower at you too. “You caused this mess. Stay out of it and let us fix it.” Your heart ached when you saw the strain Tim was under. Guilt dropped your stomach to your feet. He never used to be this stressed or mean.
“(Y/N) stays.” Jason stepped between you and Tim. “They have to do this.”
“Jason, I know you’re the reason they’re here. You texted them that you left, knowing they would follow.” Tim leaned in close, staring straight into the lenses of Jason’s helmet. “I hacked your phone, because I knew you’d pull some shit like this.”
“Watch it, Timbo.” Jason’s hands clenched into fists. “I can still beat you within a inch of your life.”
You were going to push your way between them, but Steph beat you to it. “Enough. Oh my god, stop this stupid pissing contest. We got family in danger in there.” She scowled at Jason then Tim. Tim blushed, looking away. Jason snorted. “Let’s shape up. Make a plan. Get them out alive and then we’ll argue.” Steph looked at you and Jon. Damian’s hand tightened on your shoulder. “Robin and Superboy come with us.” Steph looked at each of your brothers. “Is that understood?”
All three grumbled. “Wow,” Jon mumbled, sneaking back to your side when Damian wasn’t looking. “She’s tough.”
“She was Robin once too, you know.” You tensed as Tim went into a plan to rescue Dick and Kori.
***
“Irresponsible,” Tim grumbled as he crawled in the vent ahead of you. “Dumb. Childish.” You wished Steph had been sent with you to shut him up. However, it was just you and Tim.
Jason and Jon were going through the front door, creating a distraction and taking down whatever goons the Penguin had ready. Damian and Steph were coming up from under the Iceberg Lounge. You and Tim got stuck with the vents. Your worry for Dick and Kori plus Tim’s verbal abuse made you want to scream and break a few bones. However, you decided to be the bigger person your father would want you to be.
“This is all Dick’s fault. His stupid hardheadedness had to rub off on you. He refused to put you into stasis like I told him.” Tim kept mumbling. You froze at the stasis part. He was an completely different person than the Tim you remembered. Did you really force him to change that much?
“Wow, thanks Tim. I didn’t realize how much you and Damian were alike.” Tim flinched at your words. You smiled sadly, missing the brother who showed you cartoons and always listened to you. Your heart broke at the fact you did this. By killing Bane, you made Tim into this malicious man.
Tim slipped out of the vent into a store room. He held his arms up to help you down, but you ignore him, dropping down on your own. Tim sighed. “You don’t understand,” Tim said, guilt flashed in his eyes. “(Y/N), you started a war. You broke Batman’s code and it started a chain reaction. I mean we would have had some conflict due to Batman’s...” He swallowed hard, unable to say death. You wondered if Tim hadn’t processed your father’s death yet. Poor Tim, maybe he didn’t have a chance to grieve yet because of the mess you made. “But we wouldn’t have had this if you didn’t kill Bane.”
“But Bane might still be alive. I saw him in the cameras.” You brought up the footage on your wrist computer. Tim blinked at the footage.
“That’s not him.” Tim turned away. He hooked up his wrist computer to the computer panel next to the door and hacked it.
“How do you know? Mr. Fox said Batgirl was investigating it.” You followed, taking in everything he did. A boom sounded somewhere in the building. You flinched, hoping that it was just part of Jon and Jason’s distraction.
Tim fixed you with a icy glare. “I’ve been gathering intel for almost a year. I know who it is.” You nodded for him to keep talking, but he fell silent.
“Seriously?” You punched his arm.
“What?” Tim hacked away on his wrist computer.
“Who is it?” Your voice became dangerously low. Tim looked back at you.
“You don’t need to know.” He caught your fist before you could hit him again. “You’re only here to help us rescue Nightwing and Starfire, then you’re out of this. I’ll put you in stasis if I have to. I don’t care what Dick says.”
A frown pulled at your lips. Your eyes filled with tears. You quickly turned away from him, so he wouldn’t see. Curse your emotions, probably another thing that Dick rubbed off on you. A stony silence fell between you and Tim as he hacked away.
“I should have known I’d find you two here,” Dick’s voice said from behind you. You and Tim jumped in surprise. Tim grabbed your arm and stepped in front of you protectively.
Your heart skipped a beat as you studied Dick in his Nightwing costume. Tim tensed. “I thought you were being held in the Penguin's office?” Tim asked, squeezing your arm in a secret signal your father had taught you. ‘Danger.’
“Escaped. It’s what I do best.” Dick leaned over to peek at you. “Hey Robbie, nice to see you.” It felt wrong. A shiver ran up your spine.
“Right, I forgot.” Tim forced a smile on his face. He squeezed your arm again, another signal. ‘Dodge and run.’ “Hey, just so I know, when did we first meet?”
The wrong Dick frowned. “Why are you asking me that? Don’t you know me, Red?”
“No reason.” In one quick motion, you dived out of the way as Tim threw a electrified batarang at the wrong Dick. Dick screamed before dissolving into a pile of clay on the floor. Clayface emerged into his true form. You dashed out of the room, barely avoiding Clayface’s arm that tried to grab at you.
You sprinted down the hall, sliding to trip a guard when he burst out of one of the doors. Clayface and Tim crashed out into the hallway. “Robin, run,” Tim ordered, dodging Clayface’s foot.
“Going.” You kept running, bursting through the door onto the main stage of the iceberg lounge. It was dark. Your mask switched to night vision. You avoided the instruments. Suddenly, a spotlight clicked on and you were blinded. Something hit you from behind. You fell to the ground, all the breath forced out of you.
“There you are.” Your mask rebooted itself and identified the voice as Deathstroke. A foot pressed on your back, holding you down. “So easy. Your father would be disappointed.”
A ice cold shiver went down your spine. Hot, blistering rage filled you. “Shut up.” You used your suit’s increased strength to throw his foot off your back and rolled to your feet.
Deathstroke grunted in surprise before pulling out his sword. “Let’s see how much of a disappointment you are.”
You narrowed your eyes. Taking a deep breath, you relaxed into a fighting stance. Deathstroke zoomed toward you.
It was a long, hard fight. He got you several times with his sword, but you got a few hits in to startle him away before the sword could sink into you. You knew you wouldn’t last long.
Deathstroke kicked you off the stage. You landed hard on your arm. The bone snapped. You screamed, rolling away as Deathstroke jumped to stab you. The sword missed you by inches.
“You’re good, but not good enough.” Deathstroke laughed, suddenly kneeling on your chest. You gasped, crushed beneath him. Your good arm smacked at him, but he didn’t react. “I could use you. Train you to be better.” He reached down to run a hand through your hair. “Like I did to Terra.”
“Fuck you.” You choked. Deathstroke snarled, slapping your face hard. Blood filled your mouth.
You prepared yourself for the worse, remembering everything your father told you about Deathstroke.
A sharp cry of rage echoed through the room. Deathstroke was slammed off your chest by a black and blue blur. You took a deep breath, wincing at the pain in your ribs. Some of them were broken.
You forced yourself up to see Nightwing punching Deathstroke over and over again. “Never ever touch my kid! You hear me!”
“Di...Nightwing, stop,” you whispered, unable to breathe enough air. “You’re going to kill him.”
Dick stopped. Deathstroke laid on the floor limply. Dick got to his feet and ran to your side. “Hush, baby. I’m here.” His hand ran through your hair, inspecting you. “I don’t know how you’re here and why you are in a Robin suit, but we’ll talk about that later.” You tried to relax, but you were in too much pain. “Your arm’s broken. God, those cuts are going to need stitches.”
A wave of suspicious came over you. Clayface’s version of Dick flashed before your eyes. “When did I first taste popcorn?”
He frowned slightly. “Honey, how hard did you hit your head?”
“Answer me.” You growled.
Dick sighed, glancing around. “It was the first time you went to the movies. I took you.” He smiled. “You were so cute, licking it first before finally putting it in your mouth.”
You relaxed. “Oh, it’s you for real this time.” Dick helped you to your feet. “Where’s Kori?”
Dick frowned. “I don’t know. I was looking for her when I heard you scream.” He wrapped his arm around your shoulders. You held your arm, hissing from the pain. “This was a setup. The whole thing.”
“It’s all my fault.” You shivered. Dick led you out of the main lounge.
“No, it’s not. Let’s just get you out of here.” Dick threw a batarang at a goon that came around the corner. “Are you alone here?”
Almost on cue, the wall in front of the two of you exploded. Dick knocked you down as Jon flew past you and crashed back into the main lounge. You groaned, black swarmed your vision as you struggled to breathe. Your ribs and arm were on fire from Dick’s weight.
“Of course, Superboy brought you. I’ll kill him,” Dick grumbled, getting off you quickly. “Sorry, honey. Just hold on for me.”
“(Y/N).” Jon crawled to your side. Blood ran down his face from a cut on his forehead.
“What happened to you?” You forgot about your own pain, reaching up to wipe some of the blood out of his eyes.
Jon winced. “Metallo.”
Dick glared at Jon. “Get Robin out of here.” He looked you in the eye. “Stay at the cave with Jon. We’ll see you soon.” Dick kissed your forehead before going to join the fight. Jon picked you up.
“We can’t go. Kori.” You panted. Jon’s arms put painful pressure on your broken ribs. “Damn it.”
“Sorry.” Jon set you on your feet. “(Y/N), you’re in no shape to stay.”
You narrowed your eyes at him. “Neither are you.”
He sighed. His shoulders slumped. “I can never win against you, can I?”
A weak smile pulled on your lips. “No.”
Jon snorted. “Come on, my x-ray vision picked up some activity in the basement.” You nodded, holding your arm to your chest as you led Jon to the staircase.
***
The two of you found a metal freezer in the basement. There was a lot of damage outside of the freezer along with unconscious soldiers. “Batman and Spoiler came through here,” you said, eyeing the wounds on the soldiers.
Jon stared at the freezer for a long moment. “Oh no.” He quickly ripped off the door and Kori fell to the floor. You gasped, rushing to her side. Your ribs and arm throbbed, but you ignored it.
She was cold as death. Her orange skin tinted blue. “Please be okay.” You checked for a pulse. It was faint, but still there. You glanced at Kori’s baby bump nervously. “Jon, you have to warm her up now.”
“How?” Jon glanced around in a panic.
You pointed at your eyes. “Heat vision.”
“But I’d burn through her.” Jon shook his head. His eyes were on Kori’s baby bump too.
“You can control it. Warm up the floor around her.” You moved away. Jon nodded. His eyes glowed red as the beams shot out of his eyes and into the floor. The heat soaked into your feet. Your suit sent you a warning, and immediately started cooling you off.
Slowly, Kori’s skin lost the blue tint. She stirred, but didn’t wake up. “Kori,” you whispered. Jon turned off his heat vision. You approached, kneeling down beside her. “Please wake up.” Your eyes filled with tears. “Please.”
Jon’s hand touched your shoulder, making you flinch. Pain racked through your body at the sudden movement. “We have to get her help.”
“Take her to the cave.” You nodded to Kori, getting up. Your broken arm burned in agony. Every breath hurt.
“I’m not leaving you here.” Jon shook his head.
“Jon, we can’t leave Kori here. She’ll be defenseless.” You glared at him. “Take her to the cave.”
Jon sighed. “They’ll kill me for leaving you here. I mean they’re already going to kill me for bringing you here and for not taking you home.”
You grabbed his arm with your good arm. “Please.” Jon looked into your eyes.
“Okay.” He bent down to pick up Kori with some difficulty. “You better be here when I get back.”
“I can’t really move that fast to not be.” You waved for him to fly off. Jon gave you one last look before bursting up through the ceiling until he was out of the building and in the open air.
Alone, you glanced around at the unconscious soldiers. You studied their uniforms. They were mercenaries, but you recognized some of them. Some of them were League of Assassins, others were military trained soldiers. Whoever was wearing the Bane mask pulled a lot of weight. You swallowed hard. Why did you have to cause all this?
The hallway’s temperature dropped suddenly. You heard heavy footsteps coming down the hall. Kneeling behind the freezer, you held your breath. Your mask identified the footsteps as Mr. Freeze.
Staying quiet, you heard him wander around the room. Stupid Deathstroke for breaking your arm. You could take him if you had your arm and ribs intact.
When it finally sounded like he was leaving, you took a deep breath. You hissed in pain at your lungs expanding into your ribs. Suddenly, Mr. Freeze’s footsteps stopped. You cursed yourself. The freezer you hid behind was pushed aside and you came face to face with Mr. Freeze’s freeze gun.
“Robin,” Mr. Freeze said in his robotic voice.  He looked at you with a curious expression. You frowned, ready to dodge. “I did not expect you to be here.”
“Where else would I be?” You stayed where you were, waiting.
Mr. Freeze hummed. He glanced over his shoulder. “Freeze them and we’ll split the reward,” the Penguin said, waddling into the room with his bodyguards behind him.
Dick was going to be so upset. You hoped Jon wouldn’t feel guilty for leaving you here. Closing your eyes, you let go. The end would come. At least you would be with your father. Tears filled your eyes. He’d be so mad you joined him so soon.
The freeze gun went off. However, you didn’t feel the ice overtake you. You opened your eyes to see the Penguin and his bodyguards frozen in a block of ice. “I never did like you,” Mr. Freeze said to the Penguin before turning to you. “I never liked Bane either.” He walked out of the room. You stayed where you were, shocked.
After a few long minutes, you forced yourself to your feet and went upstairs to find the others. The battle had been won. You found the others in the main lounge, handcuffing people and tending to the wounded. Dick frowned when he saw you.
“You’re supposed to be at the cave.” He hurried over to you, taking the first aid kit from Tim and started to splint your arm.
“We found Kori.” Dick froze. “Jon took her back to the cave. She needed help.” You swallowed past a rock in your throat. “I’m so sorry.”
“None of this is your fault, okay?” Dick’s voice trembled. His hands shook.
Tim came over to take over as Dick couldn’t finish the splint. “This is a mess.” He studied you. “I heard you took on Deathstroke.”
“It wasn’t my choice. He jumped me.” You shivered. Tim finished the splint. Sun peeked through the holes of the building. It was already morning.
“The police and National Guard should be here soon. We need to go,” Tim said.
Dick nodded, shaken. “I need to get to Kori.”
“We’ll all regroup at the cave,” Damian said, taking your good arm to pull you with him. “Nightwing, come along.”
You stumbled on debris, falling against Damian. He growled, jerking you upright. Your arm and ribs burned at the movement. Dick followed. He reached over to remove Damian’s hand from your arm. “Stop it.”
“TT.” Damian called the batmobile to him. It drove and stopped in front of him. He hopped in the driver’s seat. Dick helped you into the backseat before taking the passenger’s seat.
“Hang on. I’ll ride with you,” Jason said, running over. He crawled over Dick like a little kid, which was an hilarious sight given that Jason was taller and broader than him. Jason sat down beside you. Tim called over his bike and him and Steph climbed on.
Damian grumbled, driving off. The sunrise was beautiful, but the city was damaged. No people were around. Buildings crumbled, holes in the street, streets signs knocked over, street lights blown up. It was a combat zone. You leaned your head against Jason’s arm. Jason hummed. You closed your eyes, hating that you destroyed everything your father cared about with one choice that you couldn’t even remember making.
***
You laid next to Jon in your old bed at the manor. Alfred had arrived, reopening bedrooms for everyone get to a few hours of rest. Jon wasn’t supposed to be in here, but he slipped in when everyone else was asleep. Now he snored softly with his hand on your arm. There was a bandage on his forehead for the cut he gotten during the fight.
Your body ached. Every breath still hurt even with the pain pills Alfred had forced you to take. Your arm, now in a cast, throbbed away. The cuts from Deathstroke’s sword were stitched up, stinging.
Dick was still in the cave with Kori. He went silent when he saw her under the sun lamp in the cave. She hadn’t woken up yet. No one would tell you if the baby was okay or not.
Unable to stand it any longer, you rolled to your feet. The pain intensified, but you pushed through. You wandered out of your room. A rock formed in your throat when you reached your father’s room. Slowly, you pushed open the door, frowning at it’s lifeless quiet state. Alfred had covered everything in sheets, but that’s it. Your father’s belongings hadn’t been moved.
You pulled off the sheet on the dresser and opened the top drawer. His shirts were neatly folded inside. You picked up a dark blue one and pressed your face into it. It still smelled like him. You relaxed, letting yourself float back into your memories if only for a moment.
***
You were packing your suitcase, knowing the flight back to Gotham was in the morning. Currently, you were in the Wayne Tech’s penthouse located in Paris. Your father and you had traced Magpie there where she had attempted to steal the Regent Diamond from the Louvre. Using the excuse of a business trip, Batman and Robin stopped Magpie while Bruce and (Y/N) supposedly attended business meetings.
“(Y/N)?” Your father appeared in the doorway of your bedroom. He was wearing sweatpants and t-shirt. You remembered he got a phone call from Alfred, who had stayed behind in Gotham. From the tension in your father’s shoulders, Alfred must have scolded him about something.
“Yeah?” You sat down on your bed, swinging your legs playfully.
He sighed. “I forgot again, didn’t I?” He sat down beside you on the bed.
You eyed him, shrugging. “It’s not a big deal, Dad.”
“Yes, it is. Fathers aren’t supposed to forget their kids’ birthday.” Bruce shifted uncomfortably. “Alfred made a suggestion.”
“What? I don’t need anything, Dad. Being in Paris was a nice enough birthday for me.” You smiled, looking out the window at the beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower.
Bruce cleared his throat. “Well, then you’ll be happy to know we’ll be spending an extra two days here then.” Your jaw dropped in shock. Bruce chuckled at the sight. “No patrol, no Batman or Robin. Just you and me and whatever you want to do.”
“Are you serious?” Your heart skipped a beat in excitement. You thought about going to the Louvre and actually getting to look around this time instead of just stopping Magpie. All the food you could try. You licked your lips before hugging Bruce tightly. “Thank you, Dad. This is going to be great!”
“You’re welcome. Happy birthday, (Y/N).” He hugged you back in his strong arms. You felt so loved, so safe.
***
You sobbed, burying your face into the shirt as you sank to your knees. Your body ached, but the pain in your heart was too great for you to stop. Deep down, you knew you would never get to feel that loved and safe again.
Thin, strong arms suddenly hugged you from behind. You tensed as a sharp chin rested on the top of your head. It took you a moment to catch your breath. “Cass?”
She hummed, hugging you tighter. You didn’t know she had come to the manor too. More sobs racked out of your body, hurting your ribs. Cass held you for a long time. Eventually, you stopped crying, exhaustion soaking into your bones. Your father’s shirt was soaked with your tears and snot. Cass guided you to your feet and led you back to your room. She clucked her tongue at Jon in your bed, but ignored him to tuck you in. Your father’s shirt stayed in your hands.
“Sleep.” She patted your cheek before silently leaving the room. Jon’s arm wrapped around your waist to pull you close. His body heat permeated you like sunlight. Your pain faded as you let yourself fall into the blissfulness of sleep.
***
“This is only going to get worst!” Tim’s voice echoed throughout the cave. He, Damian, Jason, Barbara, Steph, Cass, and Duke were in the meeting area. Their debate grew more heated by the second. You shivered on the medbed as Alfred changed the bandages on your cuts.
Alfred frowned. You sighed, wincing when it hurt your ribs. Jon and Lois were having a very tense discussion in the corner. You felt bad for him, but you didn’t regret coming here.
“Mx. (Y/N), take it easy. You are not going out tonight,” Alfred said firmly once he finished.
“Yes, Alfred.” You swallowed hard, getting off the medbed to wander over to the ICU area. Kori was still unconscious and under the sun lamp. Dick sat as close to her as he dared, staring at her with an empty expression. The monitors showed a steady heartbeat. A faint smile crossed your lips when you noticed two heartbeats on the monitors.
You came to Dick’s side. He blinked, wrapped an arm around you. “Hey kiddo,” he whispered. His hand rubbed your side gently. It hurt your ribs, but you didn’t want to say anything.
“Is she okay?” You trembled.
“Her vitals and the baby’s are good, but she hasn’t woken up.” Dick ran his free hand through his hair only to wince from the movement. He had been hurt too. Your stomach twisted, threatening to lose the little food you managed to eat. “This isn’t your fault, honey. I don’t want to hear that from you.” You pursed your lips, tears threatening to fall. Dick kissed your cheek. “I didn’t want you to be part of this.” You wanted to scream. If you hadn’t come, you would be hearing about Kori’s injury about now if not more terrible news. It was three in the afternoon. You probably would have had fun at prom, fell asleep only to wake up to this horror that you caused. How could he be so dumb to try to keep you out of this?
“Shouldn’t you be with the others?” you asked. Dick pulled you to sit in his lap, hugging you tightly. You let him.
“No.” Dick squeezed you, hurting you. You bit your lip to keep from gasping. “We’re not going to be here for much longer.”
“What?” Your jaw dropped, heart skipping a beat.
Dick sighed. “We’re leaving, going home.” He frowned when you pulled away from him. “Don’t fight me on this, sweetheart.”
“We can’t leave.” You choked. The guilt ate you alive. “I caused this. I can’t leave them to deal with this. Tim already hates me, Damian too. I can’t do this to them.”
“I’m not arguing with you on this.” Dick snarled in a way he never had to you before. “We’re going home.” His tone softened. “I have more to lose now.” He patted your arm, but you jerked away from him. “(Y/N).” You left the room, shocked beyond belief. Dick wasn’t who you thought he was.
You stopped outside of the meeting room, listening in. “They said they will stop the siege if we turn Robin over to them,” Barbara said sharply. “Obviously, we’re not going to do that, but maybe we can set up a decoy.”
“TT, no one is small enough to be convincing,” Damian said. A fist slammed into the table.
“Don’t even think about saying we just hand them over! Damn it!” Jason’s voice echoed throughout the cave. You quickly walked away. Your mind swirled, trying to think of a way to fix this.
“You are grounded for life, you hear me,” Lois snapped at Jon as you passed them. Jon looked at the ground, not noticing you.
Going upstairs to the manor, you exited into your father’s study only to be taken back by his giant self portrait on the wall. He hated it, but it was all part of the Brucie image.
“Daddy, I broke everything.” You looked at his eyes, imaging the disappointment that would be there. “I know you said it wasn’t my fault, but everything is going to hell.” You took a deep breath. Your ribs on fire. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I killed Bane because Bane killed you.”
Silence followed. You kept staring into his eyes. “What would you do?” Your heart broke. Deep down in your soul, you knew what he would do. Your father was selfless to the upmost degree. Closing your eyes, you let out the breath you didn’t know you were holding. “Okay. It’s time anyway.” You opened your eyes to meet your father’s painted ones. “I have to fix this.” You went over to the desk and got out some paper to write notes for everyone. A final goodbye.
***
It was easy to slip out of the manor. You wore civvies and a plain domino mask, not wanting the high tech suit to fall into the wrong hands. No one noticed you left.
You rode a motorcycle into the city, zipping along. Everything was brighter, more clear than it ever been. You enjoyed everything for the last time.
The Bane lookalike’s headquarters was at Wayne Tower. You parked your bike outside, looking up at it. It took several long moments before the Bane lookalike came out and stood in front of you. Up close, you knew instantly this wasn’t the Bane you killed. He was not tall enough and he didn’t have the grace of a street fighter that Bane had.
“Welcome Robin.” The Bane lookalike smiled. “Finally.”
“Is the deal on?” You narrowed your eyes at him, getting off the bike. Entering the code, you rigged it to explode in two minutes. “If I hand myself over, you’ll leave Gotham alone?”
The Bane lookalike studied you carefully. “Yes.” He gestured for you to come to him. You took a deep breath, your ribs burning. Slowly, you walked over to him. “Good child.” A sharp prick in your neck left you dizzy. You turned to see a ninja with a needle. Your legs gave out. The Bane lookalike caught you. “Now you will pay for what you’ve done.” The last thing you heard was his laughter.
